As-salāmu ʿalaykum wa-raḥmatu Llāhi wa-barakātuh.
And mention, O Muhammad, when Moses said to
his people, O my people, remember the favor
of Allah upon you when He appointed among
you prophets and made you possessors and gave
you that which He had not given anyone
among the worlds.
Bani Israel is a nation upon which Allah
SWT bestowed plenty of favors, and yet they
were still ungrateful and disobeyed Him.
There are many lessons to be taken from
their story so that we may avoid making
the same mistakes as they did.
To learn these lessons effectively, we have with
us our beloved Sheikh Dr. Issam Rajab.
Sheikh Dr. Issam Rajab is a classically trained
scholar, founder, and executive director of He was
born in Kuwait and has graduated with a
BA in Sharia from the Islam University of
Medina, along with a Master's and PhD in
Islamic Studies.
He has over 10 years of experience as
an imam in the USA and Kuwait, and
he also has two ijazahs in memorizing the
Qur'an.
Sheikh Issam has also authored a book about
qiraat in the Qur'an, and is specialized
and licensed in the inheritance system of Islam.

First of all, I'd like to thank the
brothers and the sisters of revivers.
I have been here several times.
And Jazahmullah Khaira for making the effort to
arrange for this talk, which is very important
and very relevant to our time.
So this is what I will try to
do, to make it practical, because we will
go through history, historical brief of the
nation of Banu Israel, but the focus is
on our current moment, our current day.
At this time of day, how can we
learn the lessons that Allah Azawajal mentioned in
the Qur'an?
There is no messenger that is mentioned in
the Qur'an more than Musa Alaihissalam.
This is a fact.
So how can we benefit from that?
So first, again, I'd like to thank the
brothers and the sisters.
They are all volunteers.
So they have put the effort to make
this happen.

May Allah Azawajal reward them.
Before I start, if I were to give
you a brief or something that we could
leave with tonight, just one hadith.
If you remember that, I would say it
will be useful, inshallah.
One hadith.
Most of what I will be mentioning will
go back to this hadith.
It is the core problem that we have
in our time.
Hadith Amr Ibn Awf, which is in the
Sahihain.
There was some money coming to the Prophet,
salallahu alayhi wasalam.
That's what Amr Ibn Awf narrates.
So the Prophet, salallahu alayhi wasalam, saw in
the eyes of people that they were waiting.
So the Prophet, salallahu alayhi wasalam, wanted to
assure them that you will get from that
money.
I will distribute it.
I will not keep anything.
But here comes the point, and that's what
I want to start with.
The Prophet, salallahu alayhi wasalam, said, فَوَاللَّهِ مَنْ
فَقْرَ أَخْشَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَكِنْ أَخْشَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ الْغِنَىٰ
أَنْ تُفْتَحَ لَكُمْ الدُّنْيَا كَمَا فُتِحَتْ لِلَّذِينَ كَانُوا
مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ What does that mean?
The Prophet, salallahu alayhi wasalam, said to the
companions, It's not poverty that I fear for
you.
No.
It's not poverty.
Many people think that the difficulties, the trials,
this is a sign that Allah, azza wa
jal, is testing us.
And that is true.
But when you get the ni'ma, when you
are blessed with money, with wealth, with health,
with a position, with fame, with dunya, you
think that Allah, azza wa jal, is pleased
with you.
And that is not true.
Allah, azza wa jal, says in surah al
-fajr, فَأَمَّا الْإِنْسَانُ إِذَا مَبْتَلَاهُ رَبُّهُ فَأَكْرَمَهُ وَنَعَمَهُ
فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَكْرَمًا وَأَمَّا إِذَا مَبْتَلَاهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ
رِزْقَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَهَانًا كَلَّا No.
This is wrong perception.
Allah, azza wa jal, says in surah al
-anbiya, وَنَبْلُوكُم بِالشَّرِّ وَالْخَيْرِ فِتْنًا We test you
with evil and good.
Good is a test also.
Not just the evil.
It's very easy because when you are poor,
you don't find a job, and you're looking
for a job.
Dunya is testing you.
You are unable to make ends meet.
And you pray to Allah, azza wa jal,
you are patient.
That is understood.
But who of us, when Allah, azza wa
jal, blessed him and granted him everything he
wants, was grateful?
And Allah, azza wa jal, said, وَقَلِيلٌ مِّنْ
عِبَادِيَ الشَّكُورِ Few of My servants, they are
grateful.
That is the test.
So back to the hadith that I want
to start with.
Hadith Amr ibn Auf, which is important in
relationship to Banu Israel and to us nowadays,
because this is what we are struggling with.
It's not poverty that I fear for you.
No.
Rather, I fear for you the dunya that
will be opened to you.
So you will compete in dunya as the
previous nations competed before you.
Okay.
Isn't that what we see?
Yes.
Most workshops, most applications, most talks about improving
yourself, about how to get a raise, and
that's all good.
Yeah, but what about my brother?
What about my ummah?
I want to have a promotion.
I want to become better.
I want to get more salary, but not
at the expense of my brother.
We live in a time of egoism, of
selfishness.
It's all about you.
What about the rest?
So that's what the Prophet ﷺ said.
And the consequence is what?
Again, that is the point of the hadith.
فَتُهْلِكَكُمْ كَمَا أَهْلَكَتْهُمْ So it will destroy you
as it destroyed them.
That's what happens.
When we compete in dunya, when we forget
the main purpose, why we are here, this
is what will happen.
Dunya will destroy us.
We lose track.
So back to Banu Israel.
Remember this hadith because we will come to
it again and again during the talk.
Banu Israel, actually the name, you know where
the name comes from?
Israel.
Israel in Hebrew means Abdullah.
The servant of Allah.
It's the name of Yaqub ﷺ.
Allah Azza wa Jalla named him Israel in
the Quran.
كُلُّ الطَّعَامِ كَانَ حِلًّا لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلِ This is
in Surah Ali Imran.
كُلُّ الطَّعَامِ كَانَ حِلًّا لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلِ إِلَّا مَا
حَرَّمَ إِسْرَائِيلُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ So Israel is Yaqub.
So now that's the name where it comes
from.
Banu Israel.
So Banu Israel, they are the children of
Yaqub ﷺ.
How many children Yaqub ﷺ had?
Maybe this will be later in the quiz.
Twelve.
Very good.
وَقَطَّعْنَاهُمُ اثْنَةَ عَشْرَةَ أَسْبَاطًا أُمَمًا That's what Allah
says in the Quran.
Yusuf bin Yamin and the other ten.
So that's where the name comes from.
Banu Israel.
Later, there is another name.
Yahud.
Where did the name come from?
Yahud.
It is mentioned in Surah Al-A'raf.
قَالُوا إِنَّا هُدْنَا إِلَيْكَ From Hidayah.
From guidance.
So Banu Israel, they are the children of
Yaqub.
We have an entire Surah, Surah Yusuf.
The entire Surah is about the story of
Yusuf alayhi salam.
Yusuf alayhi salam lived in Egypt.
They were in Palestine.
Oh, Palestine.
So the Jews, they have the historical right
in Palestine.
No, we will come to that later.
They lived there.
Yusuf alayhi salam, when his brothers plotted against
him, and he was thrown into the well,
and then eventually he was sold to the
governor of Egypt, and gradually he became the
governor of Egypt.
You notice something interesting in Surah Yusuf.
Throughout the Quran, Fir'aun was mentioned so
many times.
Fir'aun.
But not in this Surah.
Because Fir'aun is not a name.
Fir'aun is a title.
Just like An-Najashi.
Just like Qaisar.
So the title of the king of Egypt
is Fir'aun.
However, in Surah Yusuf, twice, Allah Azawajal mentioned,
وَقَالَ الْمَلِكِ Al-Malik, the king.
Allah didn't say Fir'aun.
Why?
Because actually during the time of Yusuf alayhi
salam, it was not the dynasty of the
pharaohs who were ruling Egypt.
There was war between two nations, from the
south, the Hyksos.
So they came.
All that was discovered later.
When they deciphered the manuscripts, and they understood
the old Egyptian language, the hieroglyphic language, they
all discovered that, but the Qur'an mentioned
it.
This is a historical miracle in the Qur
'an that Allah Azawajal said, وَقَالَ الْمَلِكِ So
during the time of the opponents of the
pharaohs, who rose to power?
Yusuf alayhi salam.
He became the governor, the second man in
the state after the king.
He was like practically the decision maker.
He was the one who calls the shots.
So when his family came, and they lived,
and then after that, the pharaohs came back
to power.
Who were they angry with?
Banu Israel.
You're not from here.
You were the helpers of the opponent dynasty.
So that's when the persecution happened.
إِنَّ فِرْعَوْنَ عَلَىٰ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَجَعَلَ أَهْلَهُ Plus
the famous story that Pharaoh saw in his
dream that his demise will come through the
birth of a young boy from Banu Israel.
So he started killing the boys.
So you understand that, subhanAllah, all that is
mentioned in the Quran.
In Surah Yusuf, how?
Allah did not say pharaoh, but rather he
said al-malik.
So Banu Israel, they came, and they lived
in Egypt.
They were subjected to persecution, torture.
That was their status.
That was their state.
Until Allah sent to Musa alaihi salam to
come and talk to Pharaoh.
Now, the message of Musa alaihi salam was
not just to put Pharaoh back on the
right track.
The message was for his people, Banu Israel.
أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعِيَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلٍ Liberate my people.
That was his command, his mission, which is
a reminder.
When you only think about yourself, what about
your brothers?
What am I gonna do to my nation,
to my ummah?
You live for yourself, you die for yourself.
But you are thinking about your ummah as
the Prophet salallahu alaihi wasalam was always working
and thinking about his ummah.
Even most of his dua was, يا ربي
أمتي أمتي So, it was not just about
Pharaoh, but about Banu Israel.
Save them from persecution.
So, many times we think that the problem
is with the enemy.
Like nowadays, Israel is the problem.
The Zionist movement.
Okay, look at the Quran.
Pharaoh was destroyed.
Then what happened?
The real problems happened.
Yes, Pharaoh was a problem, but he was
not the main problem.
It's very easy to put the problem on
others.
Our enemy.
What is your role?
What's your job?
To surrender, to succumb to your enemy?
What is your role?
Like when you hear people saying that we
live in a difficult time filled with wars
that was not caused by us.
It was the previous generation from the early
60s and 70s of the 20th century.
And it will take time to be resolved.
Our children.
Very good.
So, you took yourself out of the equation.
So, why you are here then?
Why do you exist?
Like when you see some parents with good
intention.
I want my son to memorize the Quran.
I want my daughter to learn.
All that is good.
What about you?
You want them, but what about you?
Why you are taking yourself out of the
equation?
You should lead the way.
You should show your children how you want
them to be.
Not just tell them, you show them.
So, Banu Israel, they were subjected
to persecution.
They were tortured.
And it was the Qadar of Allah Azzawajal
that when he destined something, it will happen.
Firaun tried his best.
He killed all the children until his own
people told him that if you keep doing
this, we will not have any servants.
We want people to serve us.
So, he changed the formula.
One year, he will keep the children.
One year, he will kill them.
And it was the Qadar of Allah Azzawajal
that his demise will come from his own
house.
When Allah Azzawajal decrees something.
We will not go through all the details
because again, there is no story that is
mentioned in the Quran more than the story
of Musa Alayhi Salaam.
How amazing is the Qadar of Allah Azzawajal
that Musa Alayhi Salaam was raised in the
house in the palace of Firaun.
You are afraid of Banu Israel and you
killed from them all their children.
Well, guess what?
The one that will cause your destruction is
coming from your own house, from your own
palace.
And not only that, you will pay for
his upbringing.
His mother, when Allah Azzawajal in Surah Al
-Qasas, Surah 28, وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ أُمِّ مُوسَىٰ أَنْ
أَرْضِعِيهِ In the seventh ayah, فَإِذَا خِفْتِ عَلَيْهِ
فَأَلْقِيهِ فِي الْيَمِّ وَلَا تَخَافِي وَلَا تَحْزَنِي His
mother was afraid.
Allah Azzawajal told her, rely upon Allah.
Cast him into the chest and throw him
into the river, into the water.
Don't fear.
وَلَا تَخَافِي وَلَا تَحْزَنِي Don't grieve.
إِنَّا رَدُّهُ إِلَيْكِ We will bring him back
to you.
How he came back?
He came back under the protection of Firawn.
Now the guards, they are making sure that
this baby is getting sufficient nutrition.
The mother, they didn't know that she is
his real mother.
She is well paid.
Something that a mother would do for free.
She is his mother.
But Allah Azzawajal made Firawn pay her.
Have you seen the Qadr of Allah Azzawajal?
How it works?
This is the Qadr of Allah.
So, that's what happened.
Firawn was destroyed and Allah Azzawajal reminded us
in Surah Al-A'raf, Surah number 7.
Ayah 136 وَأَوْرَثْنَا الْقَوْمَ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا يُسْتَضْعَفُونَ And
we caused the people who were subjected to
persecution.
We caused them to inherit the land.
وَأَوْرَثْنَا الْقَوْمَ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا يُسْتَضْعَفُونَ مَشَّارِقَ الْأَرْضِ
وَمَغَارِبَهَا الَّتِي بَارَكْنَا فِيهَا وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَةُ رَبِّكَ الْحُسْنَ
عَلَى بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلِ بِمَا صَبَرُوا The perfect word,
The perfect word of your Lord was happening,
how?
By the patience.
That's a key.
Key.
You want things to happen?
A common question, why there are trials?
Why there are innocent people, victims, they are
killed?
Allah promised us Jannah, why don't we enter
Jannah directly?
Sometimes you find these questions are really silly,
you shouldn't ask them.
If you want to ask that, why do
you work?
Allah can grant you Rizq, just sit at
home and Rizq will come to you.
Why do you study?
Why you are here at the university?
Why there are exams?
Just imagine if all teachers, what are you
studying?
IT?
What are you studying?
Languages?
Arts?
Ok, we'll give you the degree, here it
is.
Imagine, just imagine if that happened, everyone was
handed out the certificate and the degrees.
Go ahead, work on getting that later and
let's see how many of us will do
that.
This is for dunya, for a degree of
4 years, you have to study, you have
to pass the exam.
And you are talking about Jannah.
Arduha al-samawatu wal-ard, as wide as
the heavens and earth.
And you just want to enter it like
that?
Of course there has to be a test.
There has to be a price.
So sometimes when people ask this question, you
think they are really not thinking.
It's the sunnah of Allah Azawajal, the way
of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala.
So, Banu Israel, Allah Azawajal saved them from
Fir'aun.
However, even during that, it wasn't easy ride.
Musa Alayhis Salaam had to endure a lot
of difficulties.
And he had to be very patient with
his people.
Like in Surah Yunus, another surah where Allah
Azawajal mentioned the story of Musa and Fir
'aun.
When Fir'aun threatened that he will increase
the torture and the persecution of Banu Israel.
وَقَالَ مُوسَى لِقَوْمِهِ اِسْتَعِينُوا بِاللَّهِ وَاسْبِرُوا Musa told
his people, seek help through Allah and be
patient.
Again, the key is what?
Patience.
What was their response?
Did they say, yes, we hear and we
obey?
قَالُوا أُوذِيْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ تَأْتِيَنَا وَمِنْ بَعْدِ
مَا جِئْتَنَا We were harmed before you came
to us.
And after you came to us, the same
thing.
It's like you are telling your prophet, you're
no good.
You didn't benefit us.
قَالُوا أُوذِيْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ تَأْتِيَنَا وَمِنْ بَعْدِ
مَا جِئْتَنَا Is that how you talk to
your messenger?
That's what they told Musa Alayhis Salaam.
He was asking them to be patient.
Rely on Allah Azawajal.
Just like nowadays, when people are saying, look
what's happening, it's over a year now.
Those reckless people who started the flood of
Al-Aqsa, they didn't care about the innocent
people in Gaza.
SubhanAllah, where is your patience?
You are happy to remain under slavery?
Many striking examples and parallels between the story
of Banu Israel and what's happening now.
So, eventually, again, we have to move to
the second part.
Fir'aun was destroyed.
And Allah Azawajal made him a lesson to
everyone.
وَلِتَكُونَ لِمَنْ خَلْفَكَ آيَةً You are a sign.
But, what is interesting is that immediately after
Banu Israel were delivered, and they were saved,
in Surah Al-A'raf, Surah number 7,
ayah 137.
وَجَاوَزْنَا بِبَنِ إِسْرَائِيلَ الْبَحْرَ After they crossed the
sea, after Allah Azawajal saved them, what happened?
فَأَتَوْا عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ يَعْكُفُونَ عَلَىٰ
أَصْنَامٍ لَّهُمْ They came across people who were
worshipping idols.
What did they say?
قَالُوا يَا مُوسَى اجْعَلْ لَنَا إِلَهًا كَمَا لَهُمْ
آلِهًا We have to understand, we have to
study these examples that the Qur'an gave
us.
The stories of the Qur'an are not
just to enjoy and to read, but they
are to learn from because they are very
relevant to our time.
Oh, look what the West, what they have,
the technology.
Look, they are able to reach outer space.
Look, if it's all based on falsehood, it's
worthless.
It's nothing.
قُلْ لَا يَسْتَوِي الْخَبِيثُ وَالطَّيِّبُ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَكَ كَثْرَةُ
الْخَبِيثُ That's what Allah says in Ayah 100
of Surah Al-Mahidah, Surah number 5.
So, don't be deceived by what the kuffar
are doing.
That doesn't mean we just sit and wait
for a miracle.
No, you work hard, but you rely upon
Allah Azza wa Jal.
That's the difference.
The children of Israel, Allah Azza wa Jal
saved them.
They should be grateful.
The first thing they did when they saw
people worshipping idols, they wanted to do the
same.
Why?
You have to understand that those people, they
have been living under slavery for decades.
So, changing their mindset is almost impossible.
Which means, when you have a slave taught
to do what he is told, that's what
he will do.
They saw people doing something, they wanted the
same.
Isn't that what the Prophet ﷺ warned us
from?
لَتَتَّبِعُنَّ سَنَنَ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ حَذْ وَالْقُضَّةِ بِالْقُضَّةِ
Isn't that what the Prophet ﷺ told us?
That you shall follow the nations before you,
inch by inch.
Until if they were to enter the hole
of a lizard.
Hole of a lizard.
What is this?
You will enter it.
Why?
They did it.
You see nowadays people doing crazy things just
to have more likes, more views on applications,
TikTok, Instagram, whatever.
And you wonder, what is this?
That's exactly what the Prophet ﷺ told us.
You shall follow the nations before you, inch
by inch.
So the companions asked, O Messenger of Allah,
al-Yahud wa al-Nasara, you mean the
Jews and Christians?
And the Prophet ﷺ said, who else?
Who else?
Yes.
And this is what we see nowadays.
Have you asked yourself when you do something,
why I do this?
Have you analyzed what you are told to
do?
Why do I have to do it?
Or you just follow, you just obey?
So Banu Israel, they were living under slavery
for decades.
Decades.
It was hard for them to change that.
So the minute they saw people worshipping idols,
they wanted to do the same.
I told you earlier, being grateful is difficult.
Allah said, وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكُمْ لَئِنْ شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ
That's the sunnah of Allah in Surah Ibrahim.
If you are grateful, I shall increase you.
But the sunnah of Allah also, the way
of Allah, as Allah said, قَلِيلٌ مِنْ عِبَادِيَ
الشَّكُورِ Few of my servants, they are grateful,
unfortunately.
So we pray to Allah to be among
them.
So, Fir'aun was a problem.
They got rid of it.
Allah gave them the land that they were
promised.
Earlier, you tell Banu Israel, before what happened
to Fir'aun.
You tell Banu Israel that, You see Fir
'aun who said, أَنَا رَبُّكُمُ الْأَعْلَىٰ You see
all the power he has, all the authority,
all the soldiers.
Guess what?
You will be ruling the land and you
will be destroying him.
They will make fun of you.
We, the slaves?
Yes.
And that's an important lesson.
Change on Allah Azza wa Jal is not
difficult.
Change on Allah Azza wa Jal is very
easy.
Very easy.
Okay, then why Allah Azza wa Jal didn't
grant our brothers and sisters in Palestine that
victory?
They deserve it.
They have paid their dues.
They have been struggling for over a year.
Yes, they paid their dues, but it is
us, the ummah.
It's not them.
Allah Azza wa Jal can't change everything overnight.
In 24 hours, yes.
But it is also the sunnah of Allah
Azza wa Jal that people they have to
change.
إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّى يُغَيِّرُ
مَا بِأَنفُسِهِ So anyways, I'm going back and
forth to this point because it's very important
to understand how Banu Israel, instead of being
grateful to Allah Azza wa Jal, they were
just saved from Firaun.
From a tyrant.
And Allah gave them the treasures of Egypt.
مشارق الأرض ومغاربها التي باركنا فيها Wealth.
What do you want?
Water.
Livestock, everything.
But then they saw people worshipping idols, they
wanted to do like them.
Why?
This is how we are.
We want to be like them.
And when that didn't work, When Allah Azza
wa Jal وَوَعَدْنَا مُوسَىٰ ثَلَاثِينَ لَيْلًا وَأَتْمَمْنَاهَا بِعَشْرٍ
فَتَمَّ مِيقَاتُ رَبِّهِ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلًا When Musa Alaihissalam
went to the appointment of Allah Azza wa
Jal, What did they do?
They worshipped the calf.
Not the idols, but the calf.
This is how you show your gratitude to
Allah Azza wa Jal after He delivered you,
after He saved you.
This is how you show gratitude that you
want to worship the calf.
This is what they did.
Now, you have to understand this because what
happened later is dependent on it, is built
on that.
Without understanding the mindset of Banu Israel, you
will not understand what happened later, which Allah
Azza wa Jal told us.
In Surah Al-Ma'idah, what did Allah
Azza wa Jal tell us in Surah Al
-Ma'idah?
The story of Musa Alaihissalam.
وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ يَا قَوْمِي أُذْكُرُوا نِعْمَةَ
اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ جَعَلَ فِيكُمْ أَنْبِيَاءَ وَجَعَلَكُمْ مُلُوكًا
وَآتَاكُمْ مَا لَمْ يُؤْتِي أَحَدًا مِّنَ الْعَالَمِينَ Musa
was reminding his people of the favors of
Allah Azza wa Jal.
Why?
He wants to tell them what Allah commanded
them.
But he knows the nature of his people.
Since the time of Firaun, they were always
objecting and resilient.
So when he tells them some good things,
maybe they will obey him.
يَا قَوْمِي دُخُلُوا الْأَرْضَ الْمُقَدَّسَةَ الَّتِي كَتَبَ اللَّهُ
لَكُمْ That was the command.
It's not from me.
It is from Allah Azza wa Jal.
Enter the Holy Land.
We came from Egypt.
Allah Azza wa Jal saved us.
Now the command of Allah is what?
To enter the Holy Land.
That's a command from Allah.
And when there is a command of Allah,
do you ask if or but?
Do you have an option except to obey
it?
يَنَّمَا كَانَ قَوْلَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِذَا دُعُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ
وَالرَّسُولِ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ أَن يَقُولُوا سَمِعْنَا وَأَطَعْنَا That's
your only option.
We listen and we obey.
But Bani Israel, they were not like that.
Again, why?
That's the important part.
Why?
Because they came from slavery.
That was their mindset.
They always see one thing.
It's very hard for them to see something
else.
قَالُوا يَا مُوسَى إِنَّ فِيهَا قَوْمًا جَبَّارِينَ O
Musa, there are giants.
You're telling Musa who is there.
You think when Allah Azawajal gave you the
command, he doesn't know who is there.
Allah knows who is there.
Still, you have to do the command.
No.
قَالُوا يَا مُوسَى إِنَّ لَنَّدْخُلَهَا أَبَدًا مَا دَامُوا
فِيهَا We will not enter it ever.
As long as these people are there.
That was the beginning of the downfall of
Bani Israel.
You ask the question, how the nations are
destroyed?
When they rely on Dunya.
When they rely on Dunya.
What does that mean?
When they prefer Dunya, and they are afraid
of death.
They are afraid of what?
Of Jihad.
And as a consequence, what happened?
When Musa complained to Allah Azawajal, even Musa
who is a messenger of Allah couldn't do
everything on his own.
We have people nowadays, they think that they
can change everything.
No, that's not your responsibility.
You try your best, but you remember, even
a messenger of Allah, he told Allah Azawajal,
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي لَا أَمْلِكُ إِلَّا نَفْسِي وَأَخِي
فَفْرُقْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ الْقَوْمِ الْفَاسِقِينَ قَالَ فَإِنَّهَا
مُحَرَّمَةٌ عَلَيْهِمْ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً 40 years.
Now, personally, I have been wondering for a
long time when I studied the Qur'an,
I studied the Tafsir, 40 years, this is
a long time.
Why 40 years?
But then, I understood clearly why.
Those are people that you cannot change.
You cannot change.
So they have to be changed.
They have to be changed.
And Allah Azzawajal warned us at the end
of Surah Muhammad, هَا أَنْتُمْ هَا أُولَٰئِ تُدْعَوْنَ
لِتُنْفِقُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَمِنْكُمْ مَنْ يَبْخَلْ وَمَنْ
يَبْخَلْ فَإِنَّمَا يَبْخَلْ عَن نَفْسِهِ وَاللَّهُ الْغَنِي وَأَنتُمُ
الْفُقَرَى What did Allah say at the end
of Surah Muhammad, وَإِنْ تَتَوَلَّوْ If you turn
away, what will happen?
يَسْتَبْدِي الْقَوْمَ غَيْرَكُمْ استبدال, you have to be
afraid of that.
We are heedless.
It looks like something that we overlook, we
don't think of.
That there is استبدال.
Allah Azzawajal can change, can alternate the nation.
يَسْتَبْدِي الْقَوْمَ غَيْرَكُمْ ثُمَّ لَا يَكُونُوا عَمْثَالَكُمْ They
will not be like you.
And that's what happened to the children of
Israel.
They had a messenger.
But even with that messenger, he couldn't do
anything because they didn't want to do it.
Why?
They were under the mindset of slavery.
You cannot change that.
So what do you do?
You change that.
You change them, the entire generation.
How long it took them?
40 years.
40 years.
So you ask yourself again, how the fall
started on Banu Israel?
How they entered in the wilderness when they
rejected the command of Allah?
What was the command of Allah?
To fight.
Jihad.
Going back to the hadith that I started
with.
Why would people don't want jihad?
What will be in jihad?
What will happen when you go for jihad?
Struggle.
You get married, you struggle.
You ask those who are married, they are
struggling.
That's struggle.
When you go for jihad, there is...
Yes?
Death.
And that's the love of the dunya.
When you are afraid of death, I don't
want to die.
Death will happen no matter what.
So, fear of death is equivalent to love
of dunya.
Going back to the hadith of Awf ibn
Malik.
When dunya is open, you have your house,
you have your job, you have your family.
I don't want to lose that.
Well, guess what?
You think the companions of the Prophet ﷺ,
they didn't have lives, they didn't have families,
they didn't have jobs.
But when the command of Allah came, they
fulfilled that command.
Call of duty.
So we leave everything else.
That's the problem.
That was the beginning of the downfall.
They refused jihad.
And their salvation happened when they entered.
They said, وَمَا لَنَا أَلَّا نُقَاتِلَ فِي سَبِيلِ
اللَّهِ وَقَدْ أُخْرِجْنَا مِنْ دِيَارِنَا وَأَبْنَائِنَا In surah
al-Baqarah.
How could we not fight in the way
of Allah while we have been driven away
from our homes, our properties, our families.
There are people, they left and they lost
their homes.
They lost their families.
So they have every right to fight.
But then you see people telling them, no,
no.
What is no, no?
You want them to accept and tell the
enemy, yes, take more?
You want them to make it easy on
them again?
For what?
Just to live a short life like a
slave?
Because we do have slavery in another and
a different form.
Slavery of the 21st century.
Banu Israel were under the slavery of Fir
'aun and his people.
But we do have slavery in our time.
So, the beginning of the downfall of Banu
Israel was when they rejected the command of
Allah Azza wa Jal, jihad.
So ask yourself this.
How many commands have we rejected?
And we still wonder, why the victory didn't
come?
Really?
You think we deserve victory?
Honestly.
We as an Ummah of more than 1
billion Muslims, watching for over a year that
our brothers and sisters are massacred.
They are starved to death.
They are prevented from the essentials.
And we have been watching for over a
year, claiming we cannot do anything.
And then you want victory to come from
Allah Azza wa Jal?
That's not the sunnah of Allah Subhanahu wa
Ta'ala.
If in the past we wondered, how could
Al-Andalus fall?
How could the Islamic cities, Samarkand and Maru
and the other cities were conquered by the
Mongols?
How could they fall?
And at that time there was no live
broadcast, images, video.
And now we do see all of that
happening live.
You see every single detail, but still you
are watching.
Subhanallah, we are living in one of the
worst eras.
In one of the worst periods of time
for the Muslim Ummah, unfortunately.
And again, Allah Azza wa Jal warned us,
the sunnah of Allah Azza wa Jal is
either we change, we start the change or
we ourselves will be changed, will be replaced.
That is the sunnah of Allah Azza wa
Jal.
That was the beginning of the downfall of
Banu Israel.
And the beginning of the choice for them,
when Allah Azza wa Jal chose them, when
they obeyed Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and
they entered Jerusalem.

So, we talked in the first part
about Banu Israel during the time of Musa
ʿalayhi ṣ-ṣalām.
And, it's very important to understand how Allāh
عز و جل talked about them.
When we come to this part now, the
second part, during the time of the Prophet
ṣallá Llāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam.
The Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam migrated
to Madinah and found the Jews fasting the
day of Ashura, the 10th of Muharram.
So he asked them, why you fast this
day?
And they said, it's the day that Allāh
عز و جل delivered Musa.
He saved Musa and Banu Israel from Fir
'aun.
It's a day of celebration.
So what did the Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ʿalayhi
wa-sallam say?
What did he do?
He said, we are more worthy of Musa
than you.
And he fasted Ashura and he told the
companions to fast it.
This tells us something.
At the beginning of the migration of the
Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam to Madinah,
he saw what the Jews are doing.
And he did like them.
Why?
He wanted them to accept Islam.
Because he knew that they had the information
about the last messenger.
It was him.
They were actually telling the kuffār of Quraysh
what to ask the Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ʿalayhi
wa-sallam to know whether he was a
true messenger or not.
So the Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam
hoped that they would believe in him.
That was the beginning.
Anything the Jews did, the Prophet ṣallá Llāhu
ʿalayhi wa-sallam wanted to do the same.
But then comes the decisive moment in Surah
al-Baqarah.
When Allāh عز و جل made it clear
to the Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam
that they will not follow you.
In Ayah 144 of Surah al-Baqarah.
The beginning of the second Juz starts from
Ayah 142.
سَيَقُولُ السُّفَهَاءُ مِنَ النَّاسِ مَا وَلَّاهُمْ عَنْ قِبْلَتِهِمُ
الَّتِي كَانُوا عَلَيْهَا The foolish among people will
say what turned them away from the Qibla?
That was the command from Allāh عز و
جل to the Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ʿalayhi wa
-sallam.
Why?
To tell him that change your course of
action.
The Jews are not going to follow you.
So they started objecting.
Your Lord doesn't know which direction you should
face.
Was it right and it is wrong now?
Or was it wrong and it is right
now?
Because it cannot be both.
So Allāh عز و جل called them what?
Foolish.
Because it is not about direction.
It is about what?
Submission to Allāh سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى But that
marks an important new era.
And important after almost 16 months 16 or
17 months as it's reported in Sahih al
-Bukhari that marks a new time.
That the Jews will not follow you.
So what was the command of the Prophet
ṣallá Llāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam to the companions?
To do everything the opposite.
The opposite.
Why?
Because Allāh عز و جل made it clearly.
وَلَا إِنْ أَتَيْتَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ بِكُلِّ آيَةٍ
مَا تَبِعُوا قِبْلَتَكِ Should you present the people
of the book with every single āyah they
will not follow your Qibla.
It's not about lack of evidence.
And that's what Allāh عز و جل said
in āyah 146 later two āyahs later.
الَّذِينَ آتَيْنَاهُمُ الْكِتَابَ يَعْرِفُونَهُ كَمَا يَعْرِفُونَ أَبْنَاهُمْ
How well the Jews, they know the Prophet
ṣallá Llāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam as they know
their own children.
So it's not lack of evidence.
It's envy.
They don't want a messenger that is not
from the children of Israel.
So surah al-Baqarah the largest surah in
the Qur'an if you look at it
despite the largeness of the surah and the
many stories that are mentioned and the topics
you could summarize it in one general theme.
بَنُوا إِسْرَائِيل The children of Israel you want
to understand the children of Israel read surah
al-Baqarah starting from āyah 40 when Allāh
عز و جل said يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلُ أُذْكُرُوا
نِعْمَتِيَا الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَأَوْفُوا بِعَهْدِي أُوفِي
بِعَهْدِكُمْ عُثْمَان Be quiet وَإِيَّا
يَفَرْهَبُونَ Wow, the entire hall became quiet So
fast forward the beginning of the second juz
āyah 142 about the children of Israel the
story of the change of the Qibla fast
forward more than 100 āyah āyah about the
Jews āyah 246 بَنُوا
إِسْرَائِيلُ Why?
It is important Nowadays when people say Let's
try negotiations Negotiations?
Yes You don't know what they did to
the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم You don't
read surah al-Baqarah Actually the name of
the surah is what?
surah of the cow The story of the
cow What is the story of the cow?
Starting from āyah 67 It is the cow
that Allah عز و جل commanded the children
of Israel to slaughter At the time of
Musa عليه السلام Just understanding that story alone
will give you a clear idea of the
mindset of Bano Israel Allah عز و جل
commanded them to slaughter a cow So what
did they do?
سَمِعْنَا وَأَطَعْنَا We listen and we obey No
They kept objecting Musa عليه السلام told them
Allah is the one who is commanding you
But what did they say?
Are you making fun of us?
A messenger of Allah Tells his people Allah
is commanding you And you tell him Are
you making fun of us?
And then What did they tell him?
Call upon your lord He is my lord,
he is not your lord You see the
difference in language رَبَّنَا Our lord All the
dua in the Quran when you want Allah
عز و جل guide us But the Jews,
the children of Israel اُدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّك Call
upon your lord Go you and your lord
That's how rude they are So for anyone
who says We try negotiations with Bano Israel
Subhanallah They negotiated with Allah عز و جل
Allah commanded them to slaughter a cow and
they refused And you as a human being
Ordinary human being You think you will get
what you want from them easily How many
tribes of Jews lived in Medina at the
time of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم
Three Three How many of them signed the
agreement of Medina when the Prophet صلى الله
عليه وسلم came All three One after the
other One by one All of them, what
did they do They broke the agreement They
breached the covenant How long it took them
Less than five years In less than five
years All three tribes of the Jews in
Medina They breached the agreement So you come
now and you think that they will honor
their word with you You don't understand the
Quran Or you understand the Quran but you
are playing silly dumb Because it has to
be one of those two When we read
the Quran When Allah عز و جل told
us what the Jews did what Banu Israel
did It was a reminder to the Prophet
صلى الله عليه وسلم to remind the companions
and consequently to remind us that this is
how they are Ok, so we cannot live
with them, we live with them We have
no problem Those who show peace we show
them peace But those who are hostile we
have to be prepared for them, we don't
wait until they attack us We have history
and at the time of the Prophet صلى
الله عليه وسلم we saw what happened Time
after time after time they breached the covenant
Actually when Allah عز و جل said in
Surah Al-Baqarah وَإِذَا خَذْنَا مِيثَاقَكُمْ and you
remember that several times mentioned in Surah Al
-Baqarah Remember when we took your covenant Every
time Remember when we took your covenant and
they breached it But one particular time in
Ayah 93 said خَذْو مَا آتَيْنَاكُمْ بِقُوَّةٍ وَاسْمَعُوا
قَالُوا سَمِعْنَا وَعَصَيْنَا We listen and we disobey
This was after Allah عز و جل raised
above them the mountain Why?
As a threat, as a warning When you
see something huge above you that could fall
in any moment You fear death You try
to avoid it And that was the reminder
of Allah عز و جل The mount of
Tur is above you So this time don't
preach the covenant But still they said we
listen and we disobey The same Ayah in
Surah Al-A'raf وَإِذْ نَتَقْنَا الْجَبَلَ فَوْقَهُمْ
كَأَنَّهُ ظُلَّ وَظَنُّوا أَنَّهُ وَاقِعٌ بِهِمْ Ayah 171
خُذُوا مَا آتَيْنَاكُمْ بِقُوَّةٍ Remember when we raised
the mountain of Tur above you like a
canopy وَإِذْ نَتَقْنَا الْجَبَلَ فَوْقَهُمْ كَأَنَّهُ ظُلَّ Like
an umbrella Both Ayah But still Did they
obey?
No So why Allah Azzawajal told us these
Ayah Why?
It is for us to understand how they
think Allah Azzawajal raised them favored them when
they obeyed when they performed Jihad but when
they started disobeying Allah Azzawajal when they refused
Jihad they deserved the destruction and they were
divided and they were humiliated and nowadays what
we are facing is very similar to the
children of Israel I look at our situation
now and I see ourselves, the Muslim Ummah
like the children of Israel in the wilderness
a group of people want to do this
another group of people they want to do
this another group, we are divided everyone كُلُّ
حِزْبٍ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ someone is trying to
do something good instead of encouraging him or
trying we say no no just like the
children of Israel when they were in the
wilderness we still didn't find our way although
we know for a fact that without Jihad
this Ummah will not rise and a group
of people the Prophet ﷺ promised them victory
this group of people that are in Al
-Masjid Al-Aqsa in Baitul Maqdis and the
surroundings of Baitul Maqdis why they are Al
-Ta'if Al-Mansura as the Prophet ﷺ
mentioned they are the victorious group because they
are maintaining Jihad this is an essential part
we try to do Dawah we try to
give in charity we try to talk about
human rights all that is good but there
is one element that is missing our enemy
is developing weapons of mass destruction committing genocide
and we are condemning and we are watching
and praying to Allah عز و جل and
somehow we think miraculously this will change no
that's not the Sunnah of Allah عز و
جل the Sunnah of Allah عز و جل
وَقَاتَلُوا وَقُتِلُوا they have to fight and some
of them وَلِيَتَّخِذَ مِنْكُمْ شُهَدَاءً Allah عز و
جل will take from you martyrs that's the
Sunnah of Allah the children of Israel they
have been through this but for us for
some reason we think that we can escape
this we can rise as an Ummah without
Jihad and that will not happen I'm not
saying Jihad is everything no we have many
elements of Islam but Jihad is an essential
element this is what is absent nowadays you
look at any project and we have projects
for education projects for charity projects for helping
the poor everything but what about project for
Jihad this is what the enemies did because
they know they know more than us they
know that the rise of this Ummah is
with Jihad the children of Israel they went
into the wilderness they started the fall when
they refused Jihad and they went out of
that when they performed Jihad still still it
wasn't an easy ride they kept complaining and
Allah told us about that actually I will
I will conclude with this Inshallah the
story of Talut a king that Allah
sent to the children of Israel upon their
request starting from Ayah 246 of Surah Al
Baqarah Banu Israel they already had a prophet
but they asked for a king if you
already have a prophet why do you want
a king who's better a king or a
prophet no question a prophet but still they
wanted a king so Allah sent for them
a king and their prophet told them are
you going to disobey the king if Allah
chose a king for you they said no
no how could we disobey after we are
driven away from our homes and they disobeyed
what was their response their prophet told them
it's not my choice I think he is
the best of you no Allah chose Talut
immediately what was their response how come he
is our king no later their king
told them Allah is going to test you
with a river we are coming to cross
a river one of the most amazing stories
in the Quran one of my most favorite
stories in the Quran especially this ayah you
talk about great projects you talk about changing
a nation but you cannot resist a simple
desire like drinking water we are coming to
cross a river don't drink from it I
am already telling you this is just because
you have water in front of you doesn't
mean you can drink don't drink how could
you defeat your enemy if you cannot resist
simple temptations what did Allah say فَشَرِبُوا مِنْهُمْ
إِلَّا قَلِيلًا مِنْهُمْ they all drank from it
this is the problem you already know the
solution but you try to close your eyes
you try everything else that is the solution
it is there you have to resist these
temptations have you ever wondered now at the
end of the story what happened when you
read this story in Surah Al Baqarah وَقَتَلَ
دَاوُودُ جَلُوتُ Dawood killed Jalut, Goliath وَآتَاهُ اللَّهُ
الْمُلْكَ وَالْحِكْمَةُ Allah made Dawood what king and
the prophet after Dawood alayhis salam who came
Sulaiman alayhis salam his son who was also
what king and the prophet why why because
they earlier asked for a king they had
a prophet but it was not sufficient for
them so now here you have it you
have a king and you have a prophet
just go ahead and do what you are
supposed to do you see how Allah azawajal
gave Banu Israel what they asked for but
still at the end of the day either
you are willing to do something or no
if you have the willingness to do it
you will find a way when there is
a will there is a way or you
don't want to do it so you will
keep making excuses so the children of Israel
is a clear example it's actually a reminder
for us nowadays an Ummah a nation of
over 1 billion Muslims and cannot help 2
million people that are surrounded not for a
day or a month it has been over
a year what will be the excuse Allah
azawajal reminded us and showed us we have
enough evidence enough stories that when people like
that incapable or unwilling to take an action
Allah azawajal will take the action will remove
this Ummah and replace it with better people
so this is not being pessimistic this is
being realistic because that's the Sunnah of Allah
azawajal we are waiting the moment when Allah
azawajal will remove the people there could be
some good people remember even Musa alayhis salam
he couldn't open Jerusalem he was not there
he died in the wilderness although he is
a messenger of Allah so the good people
and the bad people when the evil is
widespread and that's what we see in our
time yes we say that it's the government
it's the Muslim the rulers they are the
ones who are not taking any action yes
but it is the people also to blame
who allowed that to happen prepare your excuse
before Allah azawajal when Allah azawajal will ask
you you have seen people your brothers and
sisters in Islam for over a year and
not one day not one month and you
kept saying I cannot do anything except Dua
I'm praying to Allah azawajal is that really
all what you could do so in the
history of this Ummah we saw how we
reached a record low during the Tarars invasion
the Mongols when a woman from the Mongols
would tell a group of men wait and
they wait she brings a sword and she
kills them one by one and they watch
that's how we were and nowadays we see
some people blaming our brothers and sisters not
the Israelis not the Zionists but blaming our
brothers and sisters they went into a reckless
adventure and they endangered and they caused the
massacre that is happening if you cannot help
your brothers and sisters you cannot make Dua
for them at least be quiet at least
but don't blame them the Prophet salallahu alayhi
wasalam announced war against the largest power at
that time the Byzantines in Ghazwat Mu'tah why?
because they killed the messenger of the Prophet
salallahu alayhi wasalam how many companions were sent
to fight them?
3,000 3,000 companions facing how many?
quarter million 250,000 in Ghazwat Mu'tah Alhamdulillah
in our time many people will come and
say oh this is reckless be diplomatic, try
to seek peace and negotiations there are principles
that you do not abandon people who attacked
us people who took our land it's Jihad
it's our duty you see you see one
important thing in the Quran actually this is
a topic that I will be talking about
inshallah in two weeks time the separation between
victory and triumph the difference between achieving
the goal and being victorious being victorious may
or may not come that's not in your
hand but in your hand your actions to
explain that Allah Azza wa Jal told us
in Surah As-Saf يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا
هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَىٰ تِجَارَةٌ تُنْجِيكُمْ مِّنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
shall I inform you of a good trade
good business that will save you from painful
punishment تُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَتُجَاهِدُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ
بِأَمْوَالِكُمْ وَأَنفُسِكُمْ what will happen Allah Azza wa
Jal said in the next ayah يَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ
ذُنُوبَكُمْ وَيُدْخِلْكُمْ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارِ
وَمَسَاكِنَ طَيِّبَ فِي جَنَّاتِ عَدْنِ what did Allah
Azza wa Jal say ذَلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ that's
fawz that's triumph وَأُخْرَى تُحِبُّونَهَا وَأُخْرَى تُحِبُّونَهَا but
then comes the other thing so they are
not the same نَصْرٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَفَتْحٌ قَرِيبٌ
may or may not come Musa Alayhi Salaam
was unable to enter Jerusalem he told Allah
Azza wa Jal Oh Allah I'm only one
and only have my brother I have no
control over them so they don't deserve to
enter what about me, you also will not
enter alone but you will raise the new
generation that will be victorious but what about
you Musa he was triumphant this concept is
important in the Quran Allah Azza wa Jal
also told us in Surat Al-Buruj you
know the story of Surat Al-Buruj what
is the story of Surat Al-Buruj yes
the boy and the king what happened to
the boy he was killed for anyone of
us would say don't endanger your life that's
reckless decision that's irresponsible no the boy was
triumphant by his killing what happened everyone believed
so you have to understand this I may
not see victory that's not the point the
point is that I maintained course I followed
the command of Allah Azza wa Jal Haram
bin Milhan one of the companions of the
prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam he was stabbed by
a spear and the blood was coming gushing
forth from his body he was certain of
death actually he took from his blood and
threw it to his enemy to the one
that stabbed him what did he say Haram
bin Milhan فزت ورب الكعبة فزت ورب الكعبة
yes you are going to die yes but
that's winning that's triumph so you have to
understand this because nowadays many of us are
looking at the result are we winning are
we going to gain victory that's not in
your hand it could happen to you or
it could happen later it doesn't matter but
what matters are you obeying Allah Azza wa
Jal are you following the command of Allah
Azza wa Jal are you maintaining course and
obeying Allah that's your responsibility that's triumph so
remember this because this is what I wanted
to finish with the story of the children
of Israel it's full with many lessons practical
for our time because we see clearly they
obeyed Allah Azza wa Jal they deserve victory
they disobeyed Allah Azza wa Jal they were
divided and they were destroyed nowadays many of
us waiting for the ideal moment we don't
want to do anything or we cannot do
anything all what we have is dua we
sit in our home we make dua life
is good and everything will be fine no
where is the struggle where is the struggle
what have you done to support your religion
support your brothers and sisters there has to
be an effort that is done thinking or
saying that by doing what I'm supposed to
do and even if the entire world outside
is disobeying Allah Azza wa Jal I will
be fine no that's not enough what do
you want me to do at least Alhamdulillah
I'm obeying Allah Azza wa Jal what did
Allah Azza wa Jal say in one of
the shortest surahs in the Quran وَالْعَصْرُ إِنَّ
الْإِنسَانَ لَفِي خُسْرٍ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ
and that's it وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ this
is very important where is التواصل so being
here now that's a beginning we sit here,
we listen we talk but where are the
actions attending conferences studying programs understanding the stories
all that is good the companions of the
Prophet peace be upon him they did much
more than that what did they do when
the duty called they responded that's the difference
actions this is what we need and the
kuffar they worked hard to make it almost
impossible for anyone of us to do something
in collaboration you want to do something you
will be labeled either as a terrorist you
will be prevented you will be deprived you
cannot our duty, our job is to try
to come back again and to try to
take actions talking is easy but having actions
and making the first steps that's what is
important so I will finish with this again
may Allah reward the brothers and sisters who
were behind making this happen making this possible
the rise and the fall of the children
of Israel and it is very relevant to
our time may Allah make us among those
who listen to the guidance and follow the
best of it may Allah reward you peace
and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad and
upon all his companions came
one of the tribes of Bani Israel yes
this is what Allah azawajal said وَقَطَّعْنَاهُمْ أُثْنَةً
وَعَشْرَةً أَسْبَاطًا أُمَمًا that's the text from the
Quran Yaqub alayhi salam had 12 children from
each one of them came all the children
of Israel yes next question I would like
to ask if you have any recommendation for
a book to learn about the story of
Musa alayhi salam and Bani Israel the Quran
there is no better than the book of
Allah azawajal read what Allah azawajal how surah
al Baqarah talked about the children of Israel
it gives you a clear idea on their
mindset their mentality who they are the Quran
is sufficient are all Bani Israel destined to
* if there are from amongst the Bani
Israel who do not harm the Muslims will
they still be held accountable for their sins
and entitled to * Bani Israel when we
talk about Bani Israel it's like a race
they come from certain race they are the
children of Yaqub so from them there were
believers from them there were prophets of Allah
azawajal and from them there were disbelievers so
not all of them are destined to *
of course not it depends do we know
geographically who are the Bani Israel mentioned in
the Quran geographically we said they started where
in Palestine that's where Yaqub alayhi salam was
because that's where Ibrahim alayhi salam migrated to
so from there they went to Egypt and
then they went back after being in the
wilderness in the desert of Sina and then
they came back and then they were divided
as Allah azawajal said وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكَ لَيَبْعَثَنَّ
عَلَيْهِمْ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ مَنْ يَسُومُهُمْ سُوءَ الْعَذَابِ
that's what Allah azawajal said they were divided
and Allah azawajal destined upon them division and
humility how can us as Muslims be patient
and when should we understand when is it
necessary to wait in jihad for the sake
of Allah being patient and performing jihad they
don't contradict one another actually jihad is a
form of being patient patience is ibadah just
like fasting is ibadah just like jihad so
they don't contradict one another now one thing
that people need to understand like when someone
does something to me on a personal level
that's when I forgive the Prophet salallahu alayhi
wa sallam many of them disrespected him abused
him did the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam
ever seek revenge no he was the best
but when you are targeted as Muslim like
a Muslim woman is singled out at the
airport just because she is covering herself that's
when you don't tolerate that it's an individual
incident it is against you as a Muslim
not against you as an individual so that's
where you separate as an individual it's always
better to be patient to forgive someone crossed
you, someone pushed you you forgive but someone
targeted you because you are Muslim or because
what you stand for that's when you have
zero tolerance that's the difference how do we
approach teaching children on the stories of Prophets
and Messengers where the children's minds are still
too young to understand these stories and miracles
and the same goes to teaching them about
Aqeedah yes you cannot teach them everything but
unfortunately nowadays we see how our children are
exposed to fictitious heroes to fake and
unrealistic stories so you can replace that you
have the beautiful stories of the Messengers of
Allah and the companions of the Prophet of
Allah actually there are many projects here in
Malaysia I know from our groups from our
students there are magazines there are movements there
are websites where you could start with some
stories you could start even sometimes now some
apps are starting to make it easier to
teach your children there are some workshops also
some seminars we have you want to share
your experience we have brother Mohammad Jawid also
here he does some workshops on what's the
title emotional intelligence so that's also one of
the things that are Mashallah helpful also there
is no one solution but as the Prophet
said you see what is suitable for your
children the most important thing is that you
prevent them from the exposure from the poison
that the media the kuffar they are trying
to instill in the minds of our children
whether through programs movies or even toys there
are alternatives again you just try to look
for the best alternative what could work for
you you have a daughter may not necessarily
work for the other one because he has
a son what could work for 12 years
old may not work for 6 years old
still it is not enough what we have
but Alhamdulillah I see some promising projects I
could share later also some links and some
things that people can benefit from are the
Jews of today the children of Israel whom
Allah has addressed in the Quran the Jews
of today many of them are not the
same ones that Allah Azawajal addressed in the
Quran many of them some of them yes
again you have to trace back historically because
we saw what happened many of the Jews
who disobeyed Allah Azawajal they had to kill
themselves as a repentance many of them who
disobeyed Allah Azawajal they were punished so actually
there were writings I read one time a
book the Jews of today are not Jews
this does not apply to all of them
but many of them yes they are not
the same Jews that Allah Azawajal talked about
what we have nowadays they are even worse
but some of them yes they are from
the Jews that were mentioned in the Quran
could you please tell us about the Hadith
no could you please tell us about the
Hadith that is related to the glory of
Muslims which is one of the signs of
Yawmul Akhir glory of Muslims which is the
signs of Yawmul Akhir I don't know like
a specific Hadith the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam
promised that eventually this Ummah will be victorious
and this promise is in the Quran also
Arabic Arabic that's the promise of Allah and
the promise of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam
that there will not be a single household
whether a tent or a house except that
the light of Islam will enter it that's
the promise of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam
but a specific Hadith about the I don't
know if Israel means servant of Allah what
about names like Jibrail, Mikail Israfil etc I
don't know you have to those names in
the Quran yes they have an origin what
we call Asmaa Ajamiya it's a name so
when you have a name it may have
a meaning and may not have a meaning
ok so what you are mentioning the names
of angels Israfil Mikail and Jibrail they are
names of angels but Yaqub Alaihissalam Israfil that's
a name of a messenger and final question
what are the other dangerous traits of Banu
Israfil that we as an Ummah have to
stay away from what are the dangerous traits
of Banu Israfil well when you look at
Banu Israfil Banu Israfil they defied Allah Azawajal
that's very dangerous they disobeyed Allah subhana wa
ta'ala they were rude to their messenger
they were divided so these are the things
that Allah Azawajal told us about and these
are the things that we have to avoid
as an Ummah to save itself from the
same fate of Banu Israfil we have to
avoid what they did what did they do?
what Allah Azawajal told us about them that
they defied their own messenger they were rude
to him they challenged Allah Azawajal they were
rude even to Allah subhana wa ta'ala
they refused to obey the commands of Allah
Azawajal these are the things that we need
to avoid alright that's all the questions for
