It's especially important when you get recognized by the academic
institution. And especially since we have a working relationship for
the University of Western Cape, we've had outreach programs where
the students have joined us in the community health, community
medicine. They provided us with equipment for beds, what curtains,
and also students, processes for physiotherapy, occupational
therapy and other and nurses. And when you have that kind of
partnership, it's very important to have a relationship with the
university. And also this university is very historical in
what is achieved. A lot of our friends have come from here. Have
come from the dental faculty, and many of those people are involved
with us in different aspects of gift of the givers.
You or renter and an accidental politician has come home in this
hallowed spot where many of us in the
well, somebody asked me yesterday, I have my PhD. I have 14 other
honorary degrees from universities all over the world. What makes
this one special? It makes it special because this is UWC.
I keep on saying to people, this is the place that has a a special
place in my heart and in the heart of a whole generation from from
this place, young students went out and they really fundamentally
changed the way South Africans were thinking about themselves,
about the past, about the struggle, and about the future,
and, and, and it was not just philosophical and academic
discussion. We were young people who actually laid their lives on
the line and on the altar for for a better future and for a
different kind of society. And so I've been there throughout the 19
from 1976 throughout the 1980s
