A very good morning to you, doctor. Have all of the tourists
return back home morning to we're not very sure yet, because being
the weekend of Eid, there's been no contact with family members.
The Chinese media said, you know that on they left on Saturday, but
some people said we they expected either yesterday, last night or
this morning. Since there's been no communication of the family, it
will be very hard to say, but most guarantees they should be backed
by today, because the deal brokered by international
relations and the Deputy President on Friday was within 72 hours,
which falls today.
The trip consisted of people from a variety of different religions,
Christian, Hindu and Muslim. Do you think they were targeted?
Maybe on the basis of religion? It's very hard to say, No, we
don't have the truth. The only truth we can have is when we speak
to the family members directly, because there's two conflicting
statements the family members from the UK sent out to release to say
that this was one big misunderstanding, and they thank
the Chinese government, the South African government, the deputy
president, and whole lot of other people, and the families and
consulates at the British government, they came to say that
they are grouped that travel China, like they've traveled USA
and Israel, and it was just a Genghis Khan documentary, but
yesterday, or Saturday, the Chinese press agency released
something very Different, to say they were watching a documentary
and thereafter watching terrorist related videos, and also they were
involved in groups, arranging, organizing terrorism, and that the
nine repented for their bad actions and left so, which is
very, very conflicting, it means that the nine people now have the
label of terrorism over the head, which I don't think is correct,
and the only way we will know is if the group members come out
publicly and speak about
it. Okay, so there's still certainly some mystery shrouding
this entire incident. Do you think, however, that embassies
perhaps need to learn a little bit more about China and be more
sensitive to their culture and about their restrictions there? I
think it works both ways you know any, not only China, I think any
government in the world should be circumspect and not arrest
everybody they think you know, suspect people of terrorism or are
interfering with the internal policies of a country. People are
very innocent. Sometimes they don't know the rules. They do
things which may not be harmful to anyone, but people must perceive
that as such. So it's important that government take notice,
especially if people come with good intentions to tour the
countries, to learn about culture, building goodwill. So we have to
be more careful, both from the tourist point of view about what's
allowed and what's not allowed, and from a government point of
view, they just don't label everyone. And there's to be
sensitivities on both sides. And if the world bodies can look at
that more carefully, I'm sure tourism will be more enjoyable for
people from all across the world, alright? Thank you very much for
your time this morning. Doctor MTS Suman from gift of the givers Time
now for your.
