AI: Summary ©
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious,
the Most Merciful.
And peace and blessings be upon the Prophet,
the Most Merciful of all the worlds.
Our Prophet and beloved Muhammad, may Allah's peace
and blessings be upon him and his family
and companions.
And peace be upon you.
Today is the 12th of the first month
of Jumada, 1446, which corresponds to the 14th
of the month of November, 2024.
So inshallah we continue from where we stopped
last class and if I'm not mistaken in
the last class we stopped at the saying
of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
So Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala commanded us
and recommended that we should always seek his
support and help in whatever we do through
salah and patience.
And we talk about patience and we talk
about salah and its importance.
And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says this
prayer is very, very, very heavy except those
people who have khushu, who observe khushu in
their prayer and the rest of the act
of worship.
Because khushu is supposed to be there in
everything you do to please Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala.
A person should be conscious and should know
what he is doing and he knows that
this is ibadah that he does it for
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
He should view the meaning in his brain
while doing it.
That's the kind of ibadah Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala wants us to do.
That's why the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
has said to one of his companions that
excellent wasiya that he gave him, which is
not for him alone, it's for all of
us.
He said, اذا صليت فصلي صلاة مودعي When
you pray, pray as if this is the
last and the final prayer you will be
doing.
Just imagine if you can have access to
the book of Qadr and you know that
this prayer is the last one.
An angel of death is just waiting to
see what exactly, I mean waiting for the
time to come and then he will just
take off your soul.
If you know this, how are you going
to pray that prayer?
How that prayer is going to be?
That will be the most excellent prayers you
are going to be with full of consciousness
and focus.
You might lose focus out of strong fear
that you have of Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala and not having a clue of what
could possibly happen to you when you meet
him.
You are going to perfect it and make
it excellent.
This prayer that you are doing now, because
you are told it is the last one,
it is actually how you are supposed to
be praying throughout your life.
Not only when you are told that you
are about to leave, no you are supposed
to be praying to Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala like this throughout your life.
And subhanallah our predecessors were like that.
And this is the only way you can
understand why Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was
praying in the way he prayed.
Right?
Our qiyam al-layn is very khafif, Rasulullah
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam's one is too much.
That's Rasulullah.
He recited one rakah, Surat al-Baqarah, Al
-Imran, Al-Ma'idah, and Nisa.
You know, some of the rawi says Ma
'idah first and then Nisa.
That's why they said you can read the
surah that is ahead of the one that
you are going to read in the second
rakah.
I read Qula'udhu Rabbil Falaq in the
first rakah and I read Surat al-Baqarah
in the second one.
It's okay because Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
already read Surat al-Ma'idah first and
then Surat al-Nisa afterwards.
You get it?
That's permissible, but it is not the best
to be done because the vast majority of
the prayers of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam is that he maintains the order of
the surah.
You get it?
So he was praying in the first rakah,
Baqarah, Al-Imran, those four long surahs, right?
He put them in one rakah.
That's just rakah number one.
That's why Abdullah ibn Mas'ud said, I
was with him.
I thought he would be finishing, you know,
he would be making ruku' at the middle
of Surat al-Baqarah and then he'd move
forward.
So I told myself for sure, he knows
somebody is praying with him, he's going to
stop this rakah at the end of Surat
al-Baqarah.
But then Rasulullah did not invite him, he
came by himself.
So he is on his own.
That's why Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam pray
like that because he did not invite anyone,
he came by himself.
It's not like Zuhur or Maghrib or Isha
that he has to come, no, he brought
himself.
That's why he has to bear the consequence.
So he said, I was about to commit
sin.
When I see the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam is not willing to stop, he finished
Baqarah and opened Al-Imran, finished that one
also.
And then opened Surat al-Ma'idah, 120
verses.
That wasn't enough and then he went to
Surat al-Nisa, 165 or 175 verses.
He finished four of them and then he
made Rukuh, that's the rakah number one.
He said, they asked him, what were you
planning to do?
He said, I was planning to say As
-Salamu Alaikum and run away, end my prayer
and just leave him to continue because I
don't know where exactly Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam is going.
But then he managed to be patient to
narrate this hadith for us, subhanAllah.
So you might be surprised, how come he
can manage to stand for this long time?
Trust me, my dear brothers and sisters, this
is all about khushu.
If you do the Qiyam al-Layl, sometimes,
trust me, you will tell yourself, today I'm
going to read one juz'al.
Right?
If you are so fresh and you try
to maintain focus in your prayer, trust me,
sometimes you might be reading the whole Surat
al-Baqarah in one rakah and you don't
want to make Rukuh.
Because you enjoy the recitation, especially recitation at
night after you sleep.
Allah says, إِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ اللَّيْلِ هِيَ أَشَدُّ وَطَأً
وَأَقْوَى مَقِيلًۭا Allah says, sometimes you feel that
somebody is controlling your tongue, you are not
the one who is moving them.
Things that used to be wrong in reading
them in the daytime, because of so many
things in your brain, at night when you
sleep and wake up, you find it very
easy for you to read them.
As if they were another one that are
causing you a lot of trouble in the
daytime.
Qiyam al-Layl is really, really, really a
privilege Allah SWT gave us, a ni'mah from
Allah SWT.
It helps you to maintain tranquility in your
life.
So try your best not to miss a
prayer at night.
Try your best not to miss a prayer
at night.
And don't give excuses, because sometimes we say
we have a lot of work.
Always like that.
But then, I am the one who is
saying I have a lot of work, but
I am willing to sit down at night
and chat with somebody.
And I don't mind.
I know I have work tomorrow, but that's
okay.
When it comes to Qiyam al-Layl, no,
I have a lot of things to do
tomorrow.
That's how we deceive ourselves.
Trust me, in most instances we have time.
If you sit down and look at your
affairs and activities within the daily basis, trust
me, you have a lot of time actually.
A lot, a lot.
But we always claim, based on the deception
of shaytan, that we don't have time.
But we do, we do have a lot.
Just sit down and think wisely, you will
see a lot of time in your life
that you can invest in those moments of
time.
So let's stand up at night and let's
pray two rakat.
Is it Qiyam al-Layl?
Yes, it's Qiyam.
Don't make your night all about sleeping.
No, let's pray two rakat.
So Allah SWT says, وَإِنَّهَا لَكَبِيرَةٌ So I
was saying, why did Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam
join?
He said, وَجُعِلَتْ قُرَّةَ عَيْنِ فِي السَّلَاةِ Allah
SWT put my satisfaction and tranquility in the
prayer.
When he prays, he feels subhanAllah, tranquil, relieved.
So how do I get that khushu in
the prayer?
It's a matter of training.
It doesn't come in the middle of the
day.
You have to train yourself.
One of the righteous predecessors said, I have
been training my soul, my nafs, to enjoy
Qiyam al-Layl for 20 years.
حَتَّى استَقَامَتْ 20 years, I never gave up.
SubhanAllah.
Those ones, they mention Qiyam al-Layl to
them, they say دَأْمُ السَّالِحِينَ قَبْلَنَا It's just
like a hobby to them.
You know the way you go and play
some games and exercise?
To them, Qiyam al-Layl is like that.
It's part of their life.
If they don't do it, they don't enjoy
life.
They mention one of them, subhanAllah, I forgot
his name, he got a problem with his
leg.
All of his worries are about Qiyam al
-Layl.
He used to make jokes.
Because of how much he enjoys Qiyam al
-Layl, he used to make jokes.
He used to depend on a stick.
And then he used to say, did the
companions of the Prophet ﷺ think that there
is nobody who will try to imitate them?
SubhanAllah.
So they found many, many of them, when
you read Ahbar al-Salihin, when they are
about to die, and they see them crying,
they ask them, why are you crying?
They say that, subhanAllah, they're just thinking of
how much they will miss Qiyam al-Layl.
Yeah.
How much they will miss Qiyam al-Layl.
And if you look at the life there,
that's why reading history is good.
Wallahi, it's excellent.
It's necessary, actually.
Not just good, it's necessary.
It's necessary.
They mention about one of those righteous predecessors
who was crying.
You know, sins, committing sins are exception.
Exceptional cases in their life.
You remember Ibn al-Jawzi was describing al
-Hasan al-Basri or Sayyid ibn Masayyib when
he became so poor, very poor, because he
was selling oil, and then a rat fell
into that oil.
So what did he do?
He did not throw it away.
Islamically, you have to throw it away.
The whole thing, you have to throw it
away.
If it is liquid, if it is dry,
you throw it away and the surrounding area.
But then he did not throw it away.
On the way, he said, no, wait a
minute.
I'm going to sell something that is najasa
to the Muslims?
He said, no way.
He goes back home.
He couldn't detect the one that is affected
by the rat.
Because he threw the rat away, and he
did not throw it away.
But now they are identical.
He did not know which one.
Subhanallah, look at how Allah SWT punished him
because of that simple, you might say simple
mistake he did.
Because to Allah SWT, what is right is
right.
What is wrong is wrong.
No matter how much you see it simple,
to Allah it is not.
That's why his sister went to *, because
of a cat.
That's Rabbul Alameen.
So, what did he do?
These are the predecessors.
They are not like us, who will say,
I will just sell it, and then I
will do cleansing of my wealth.
They are not like that.
He says, no way.
I just have to, you know, concede my
problem, and throw the whole thing away.
So he threw it away.
And that was his capital in the Prophet.
So he became extremely poor.
One day he sat down between him and
himself.
He says, I know what happened.
He said, 40 years ago, I met a
person who was poor, and I made fun
of him.
I called him Ya Faqir.
SubhanAllah, Ibn Jawzi, when he came and looked
at this story, he said, SubhanAllah.
قَلَّتْ ذُنُوبُ الْقَوْمِ He said, the ma'asi
of those ones are very little, at the
minimum.
فَعَلِمُوا مِنْ أَيْنَ أُتُوا So they know, they
can understand, which sin is the cause of
this problem that he is facing in his
life.
And he said, 40 years ago, he remembered
that, yeah, 40 years ago, I made fun
of somebody.
That's the result today, I'm getting it.
وَاللَّهُ لَا يَنْسَىٰ لَا يَدْلُّ رَبِّي وَلَا يَنْسَىٰ
You know, you might oppress a person, and
then that person even forgot.
وَاللَّهُ لَا يَنْسَىٰ Allah will never forget.
Ibn Jawzi says, وَكَثُرَتْ ذُنُوبُنَا فَلَمْ نَدِرِ مِنْ
أَيْنَا نُؤْتَىٰ Our معاصي are so much.
And that's why, when the calamity comes and
strikes us, we're not sure which one, which
sin is the cause of this, because there's
so much.
The idea is not about you not committing
sin, this is impossible.
Trust me, my dear brothers and sisters, it's
impossible for you to stay away from committing
sin completely.
Completely.
Who is that person that doesn't commit sin?
Rasulallah s.a.w. said, كُلُّ بِنَ آدَمَ
خَطَّأ وَخَيْرُ الْخَطَّئِينَ أَتَّوَابُونَ The real problem is
about you being negligent, to keep committing, thinking
that Allah s.w.t. is Ghafurur Rahim,
yes, you're right, but you also forgot that
he is شَدِيدُ الْعَقَابُ That's number one.
The real problem, another problem is you not
being conscious of how much trouble you're putting
yourself in and you keep committing the sin.
And another problem is that you not being
conscious that it is also a reality that
an angel of death can come and *
your life when you're committing the sin.
However, if you try your best to avoid
them, stay away from the major sins completely.
And the minor sins, minimize them to the
lowest level and try your best not to
intentionally go against the law of Allah s
.w.t. And also attached to that, a
lot of istighfar, so reflection.
You have the sense, you sense that yes,
you're going in the wrong way and you
do repent.
In Ibn Jawzi, subhanAllah, may Allah s.w
.t. reward those predecessors of ours, he said
the real mushkilah is not about the sin
itself.
It's about you committing sin but Allah removed
the consciousness and the sense.
You don't feel that you're going against Allah
s.w.t. He said that's the real
problem.
And Allah is punishing you because of those
sins but you don't see the punishment.
And it's very beautiful when he completed the
statement.
He says, and the one that is worse
than this is the one who is happy
with the punishment.
Because all the ma'asi that we are
committing is what?
Punishment from Allah.
Any ma'asi that you commit is a
punishment from Allah.
Because Allah says, no musibah that happened to
you except that it is because of what
you did.
Ibn Abdul Izz al-Hanafi did a nice
job to connect the sins you know the
calamities that are facing us to our weaknesses
in terms of the ma'asi.
He said it's because of what we did
and Allah is forgiving the vast majority of
our weaknesses.
So ma'asiyah, is it musibah?
Yes, it's musibah.
That means it is simply because of our
own behavior.
So Ibn Jawzi said, the problem is to
be punished by Allah s.w.t but
you don't understand that Allah s.w.t
is punishing you.
He said, ashab al-ma'asi, they kept
on doing, they kept on doing, they are
not willing to repent.
And he said, the one who is worse
than this, listen to this, he said the
one who is worse than this one is
the one who is happy with the punishment
of Allah s.w.t. You might say,
who is that person that is happy with
the punishment?
This is exaggeration.
Don't forget, we said ma'asi is, they
are punishment from Allah s.w.t. Is
there anyone who is happy with the commission
of the ma'asiyah?
Yes, a lot actually.
The person who is taking riba and he
is happy telling us that he got this
and that, this amount, this car, this house,
this and that, and everyone is celebrating with
him and this is riba we contract.
Is he happy with the ma'asiyah?
Yes.
Ibn Jawzi said this is worse.
Subhanallah, when I was reading this, it is
as if Ibn Jawzi is in our time
to see our life.
So be very careful, Allah, be very careful.
You want sa'ada in your life, do
that which Allah s.w.t. wants.
And as I said, read khabar salihin.
One of them, when he was about to
die, they told him, why are you crying?
He says, my sins to me.
He took a piece of stick, very small
stick.
He said, Wallahi, the sins that I committed,
they are more insignificant than this.
Which means, very little sins he can remember.
To his remembrance, the sins he committed, they
are very little.
But he is afraid of them.
But he said, this is not the fear
that I have.
I am not scared of this that much.
Because I know what I did to please
Allah s.w.t. And inshallah, Allah will
not disappoint me.
But he said, I am just afraid of
one ayah in the Quran, that Allah says
in surah Az-Zumar, وَبَدَى لَهُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ
مَا لَمْ يَكُلُوا يَحْتَسِبُونَ How many of us
are afraid of this?
Allah s.w.t. says, when they meet
Him on the Day of Judgment, that which
they never expected will happen.
There will be people who will be expecting
good.
But because they did not do good in
So now, in this dunya, all of
their activities went astray, wrong activities, but they
think they are doing the correct thing.
Do we have people like this?
Yes, even among the Muslims, some people, their
scholars might be introducing things to them, and
they accept it, they do it in the
name of the religion.
But Allah s.w.t. never prescribe it
to anyone.
Can we apply this ayah on them?
Yes, it is applicable actually on them.
بَدَى لَهُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ مَا لَمَ يَكُنُوا يَحْتَسِبُونَ
Because you have to approach Allah through that
which He wants you to approach Him through.
You cannot introduce your own version of the
religion and claim that this is okay.
No, it will not be okay at all.
You have to follow precisely the way Rasulallah
s.a.w. used to do things.
So he said, my fear is this ayah.
Whenever I remember it, this is what makes
me cry.
Because now I'm going back to Allah s
.w.t. I don't know my acts of
worship, are they accepted or not?
He said, I don't know.
I try my best to make it perfect
and I hope inshallah they are all accepted
but this fear is there bothering me before
I leave this dunya.
The last example I give you is the
example given to us by our Shaykh, Shaykh
Abdul Mosin Dabbad mentioned something about a person
called Mansur ibn Zadan.
Subhanallah.
He says, this person, the community used to
look at him as one of the most
dedicated people to Allah s.w.t. I
mean he's the only person that I found
him being described in this way.
They said, if somebody tells him, Mansur, there
is an angel of death next to the
door just waiting for the last minute to
come to your place.
They said, this man, they believe he has
nothing to add in his book.
Meaning his time is utilized every single second
in his life is being utilized in that
which is good.
They said, people believe that this man, even
if he sees angel of death, he cannot
add something new.
Everything they see is perfect.
We are not saying we have to be
like them with all of these distractions, it
will be very difficult.
But all that Allah wants from us is
to make sure that what you are doing
is correct.
Allah is, that is simple.
If you support your soul to do that,
it's very simple.
Make sure you monitor your activities.
Whatever you do is correct.
You are a businessman, make sure your business
is halal.
You are not a businessman, you work in
a place, make sure what you are doing
is halal.
You are supporting halal businesses.
In your relationship with others, make sure whatever
you are doing is Islamic.
Your approach to your family members, make sure
everything is Islamic.
Your approach to your children, to your friends,
to everyone.
That's the kind of life Allah wants us
to do.
Very simple life, but make sure what you
are doing is correct.
Appreciate those business partners who, when I met
them, they were asking some questions.
They said in their business, they want me
to see whether I have some comments or
not.
So they told me, in our business, we
don't have Islamic name.
So we don't write any Islamic thing.
The title of the business is just purely
dunya business.
However, they said we try our best not
to do anything except something which is Islamic.
Is that good?
Yes, actually it's wajib for me to do
that.
It's very dangerous to call your business some
Islamic names and inside the business you are
not doing Islam.
That man is very smart.
Because he knows his weakness.
As a Muslim, I have to do something,
I have to do that which is correct.
And we plan for this, not to do
anything that is displeasing to Allah SWT.
However, our business, we just name it like
any other business.
When you see it, you see dunya business.
But when you come inside, you see Muslim
applying the Shariah of Allah SWT in their
businesses.
Nowadays we don't want this because the community
wants Islam.
So we give them the titles and then
inside the content is the same.
We think we are just cheating and laughing.
But Allah SWT told us through the Prophet
SAW, Do not do that which was done
by the Jews and the Christians.
فَتَسْتَبِيحُوا مَحَارِمَ اللَّهِ بِأَدْنَ الْحِيلِ In the way
you will be legalizing things which are forbidden
through shallow tricks.
The Jews are doing this, right?
Don't catch fish on Saturday, put the net
on Friday.
Get the fish on Saturday, come and pick
it up on Sunday.
So dumb, you know.
They think they are playing game with Allah
SWT.
Even Tafir will tell them, you caught that
fish on Saturday because the fish get trapped
on Saturday.
That's what Allah SWT says,
Allah swept them from existence.
He turned them into pigs in the state
of humiliation.
And they live for how many days?
Three days only.
And they are gone.
Because the Hadith in Muslim says whenever Allah
SWT turn human being into another creation, they
can only survive for three days.
After three days, then they will be taken
away.
Scholar said this Ummah also they are going
to receive this before the Day of Judgment.
Some people will be turned into pigs and
monkeys.
What are they doing?
Four things.
Making Zina Halal, wearing the silk for the
brothers, drinking wine, and using the musical instruments.
Four things that Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said
if it happens in the Ummah, Allah SWT
at the end of the day He will
turn some of these people into pigs and
monkeys.
Allah SWT told the Jew, do not eat
white meat, the fat.
What did they do?
فَجَمَلُوا أَعَذَبُوا ثُمَّ بَعُوا وَأَكَلُوا ثَمَنَهُمْ They took
the fat, they melt it, they get the
oil, and they sell the oil and use
the money.
These are the Jew.
So Allah SWT told us through the Prophet,
do not do that which the Jewish community
was doing.
That's why the sale of Eena, what is
it?
It's a trick.
Which some people accepted, thinking that Imam Shafi
'i accepted that which they are doing.
Imam Shafi'i never accepted Eena like this.
You know Eena, right?
I sell, okay, I go to Ummah, actually,
initially, I just want money.
How do I know?
How do we know that this person wants
money because of the way they are doing
the transaction?
So I go to Ummah.
I said, Ummah, I know if I, if
I tell them, Ummah, give me a loan
of 100 ringgit, Ummah will tell me, no,
my money is not free.
You take 100 ringgit, later on you have
to bring some.
So that's what?
Riba.
We don't want this because everyone will tell
us, you guys are doing Riba.
So we try to play game.
What do we do?
I go to Ummah, I said, Ummah, by
the way, I want to buy your phone.
How much would you sell it to me?
He said, 100 ringgit, if you are paying
now.
Or 100 ringgit since you are paying later.
You are going to pay later, right?
Because he knows me, I don't have the
money.
So I told him, yes, I will pay
after one year.
Ummah said, no problem, so I get the
phone from him.
When I take the phone from him, and
then Ummah said, oh, wait a minute, Ibrahim,
why can't I take back the phone from
you?
I buy it from you, cash, but I
pay you 90 ringgit.
I bought the phone from him, 100 ringgit
to be paid later on credit, right?
And then now he is buying the phone
from me, the one that he just sold
it to me.
He is buying it from me, and he
pays me how much?
90.
After one year, how much am I going
to pay him?
100 ringgit.
So this is exactly like going to him,
and I tell him, Ummah, can I borrow
90 ringgit?
And after one year, I pay him 100
ringgit.
We just put the phone to disguise our
true image.
Otherwise, explain to me, how does that work?
I just go to him, Ummah, give me
this one, I pay after one year, 100
ringgit, and then he tell me, okay, I
will buy it from you, okay, give me
back the phone, I give you 90 ringgit.
This is just a loan with riba.
But we just put the phone so that
people will not understand our true image.
You see the trick, how it works, right?
I know, Tawarruq is different.
Tawarruq is the opposite.
Okay, Tawarruq is like this, I took the
phone from him, right?
And then Ummah repurchases it from me, but
he pays the money cash, but lesser amount
than I'm going to, the one that I'm
going to be giving him after one year.
We call this one aina.
There are five types of them, actually.
This is the simplest one.
We have the most complicated one, which is
the al-heel al-thulatiyah, Shaykh Nusayman bin
Taymiyyah called it.
He doesn't have the property, I don't have
anything, you know.
So we go to Mazen.
Mazen is a businessman.
Ummah will go to him and buy something
from him on credit.
He got the phone from him on credit.
And then he will come to me and
tell me, Ibrahim, I got the phone, right?
So I will sell the phone to you,
he will sell the phone to me, 100
ringgit.
So I give him cash, 100 ringgit.
I take the phone.
And then Ummah will say to me, okay,
what do you think?
I will take the phone back from you,
but I will pay you after one year,
150 ringgit.
What does he need the phone for?
He wants to take it back to Mazen.
Because he doesn't need it.
He just wants to legalize that loan in
that way, you know, through the phone, and
then he will take it back to Mazen.
This is exactly what many of the banks
are doing nowadays, and they call it Islam.
I don't know, how does it work?
Nobody among the predecessors accepted this.
But the real Tawarruq is, you see in
the first example, Ummah is repurchasing the thing
from me, right?
In the Tawarruq, I took the thing from
Ummah.
I don't sell it back to Ummah.
I sold it to Mazen.
But cash, lower price also, 90 ringgit.
What is the difference between Ina and Tawarruq?
It's just that now I involve a third
party.
In the first one, which is Ina, I
sold it back to the one who was
the original owner of the item.
But in the Tawarruq, I take the thing,
and then I look for another person.
I sold it to him with the same
amount that I'm supposed to get from Ummah.
That's why Shaykh al-Sami Taimiyah said this
is also Riba contract.
His students, they tried their best to convince
him until death.
Never changed his mind.
They were begging him, please revisit this issue.
He said no.
And why is he rejecting this?
Because he says the purpose which made the
Ina prohibited, exists also in Tawarruq.
When I go and I borrow money, I'm
sorry, when I pretend to be buying the
thing, what am I looking for?
Money.
Ibn al-Qayyim says everyone knows that this
guy is looking for money.
He's not looking for the item itself and
the product.
So when I took it, I want money.
That's why I sold it back to Omar
at a lower price, at a loss.
Because I'm going to pay him more in
the future, right?
When I take it and I sold it
to Mazen also, at a loss.
So it's like I borrow money from Omar,
but I pay higher than that in the
future.
That's why Ibn Taimiyah says they share the
same purpose.
As such they have to be both rejected.
You get it?
So you have to open your eyes.
Sometimes they have some of these, some of
the institutions, what do they do?
I go and buy the car from him,
a bank.
You want to be a bank?
He said yes.
So he is the bank.
I want to buy the car, but the
car belongs to Omar.
I go to Omar.
I'm just talking about the normal process.
It has not changed yet.
I go to Omar.
Omar, how much do you sell me this
car?
Omar says 200,000 ringgit.
Come on Omar, make it cheaper.
Okay Omar, 150,000.
Alhamdulillah.
Are you going to pay cash?
I tell him, do I look like somebody
who will pay cash?
You know I'm going to pay you through
the bank.
Subhanallah, the deal is between me and Omar,
right?
Who is the buyer?
Omar.
I'm sorry, Ibrahim.
Who is the seller?
Omar.
Since I cannot pay, if I go to
Hamad, who agrees to be the bank, if
I go to him, what am I looking
for from him?
Loan.
No matter how much you try to modify
it, it is like that.
You are looking for a loan from him.
But then we call it a sale contract,
sale of morabaha.
If you go back to the morabaha mentioned
by the early scholars, it is totally different
from what we are talking about nowadays.
And this is the problem, because we don't
agree to introduce our own version of things
and wait with the sharia.
We want to take the old one and
use it in the wrong way.
That's deception, that's cheating.
The scholars said, You know, the general principle
concerning sale contract and the businesses, everything is
halal, except where sharia states otherwise.
Can I introduce new business nowadays?
Yes.
All that you have to do is to
wait with the principles of sharia.
If there is no violation for the sharia,
just go ahead with it.
This is halal.
Absolutely halal.
But what we are doing is not.
I take morabaha, mudaraba, musharaka, I put it
in a different way, different from what is
known by the community.
So the community, when they see me doing
morabaha, they will say, Yeah, this is morabaha.
They will not bother to check and see
which morabaha is that.
Is that clear, right?
So when I go to Hamad, I'm looking
for financial support as a loan.
If Hamad asks me to pay extra, more
than what he paid Omar, what do you
call that?
Riba.
From the root of transaction, riba exists.
It wasn't riba because you fail to pay
on time.
It was riba from the beginning.
There is a way to correct it, but
no financial institution will accept this.
You get it?
Because businesses in Islam are responsible businesses where
you share the loss and the profit.
Banks will never agree with this risk.
Never, never, never.
Otherwise there is always a way to fix
things, but it carries risk like any other
business.
Every business you see on earth, there is
a risk attached to it.
That's why part of justice of Islam, we
share the profit and the loss, which they
don't agree with that.
It's one party bearing the loss and both
parties taking the profit, but only one will
bear the loss.
This is wrong Islamically.
We can't do that.
Exactly, inshallah.
So if we do this, somebody will tell
us we are doing riba.
Then now we open another trick.
You know how it is?
I go to Omar.
Omar will sell me the car, 150,000.
I go to Hamad.
Hamad will say, I will pay 150,000
only to Omar.
I'm sorry, he will not tell me what
exactly, but he will tell me I will
pay.
I will buy the car for you, and
you just have to pay me exactly the
same amount I paid him, which is 150
,000.
But then what he did, what those institutions
will do, they will go to Omar.
They will charge Omar to pay that money.
The money that I'm supposed to give them,
they will take it from Omar.
So Omar, yeah, it is.
But Omar, what is he going to do?
When I come to buy something from him,
he already knows that the bank is going
to charge him.
So he will double the price.
He will include the fees that the bank
is supposed to.
So it's like, rather than me giving the
money directly, I'm sending Omar to go and
pass it.
Subhanallah.
So just open your eyes, do the correct
thing.
And when it comes to riba, Wallahi, don't
take chances, because riba is equal to fighting
Rabbul Alameen.
Nobody can stand this.
Wallahi, no system can stand this.
That's why our economic system always crashes.
Yeah, it has to crash.
This economic recession that is taking place from
time to time, it must happen.
If the system is not based on Islamic
principles and tenets of Islam, trust me, it
has to crash.
Because Rabbul Alameen promised to remove the barakah
from any business that contains riba in it.
You know mahk is to remove something from
its root.
You get it?
There is no way for a system to
succeed if that system is at a war
with Rabbul Alameen.
So be very careful.
And trust me, you might be facing, this
one you might not understand it, but it's
true.
You might be facing mashakil and problems in
your house because your earning is haram.
You might say there is no connection, but
there is.
There is no good in maasi and haram
earning.
You might have mashakil in your family life.
So please fear Allah SWT and just understand
that there is heavy accountability when you meet
Rabbul Alameen on the Day of Judgment.
Rasulallah SAW said, لَن تَزُولَ قَدَمَ عَبْدٍ يَوْمَ
الْقِيَامَ حَتَّى يُسْعَرَ أَنْ أَرْبَعَ The feet of
a person will never move from their position
on the Day of Judgment until Allah SWT
asks you about four things.
And one of these questions is about your
wealth.
How did you get it?
And how did you spend it?
Live a life of Islam.
This is good news that I can share
with you.
Living as a Muslim, as a good Muslim,
Wallahi, it's an enjoyable life.
Very, very nice life.
You have a lot of tranquility, peace of
mind.
You enjoy life.
But if you want to take another version,
I love the way Allah SWT is dealing
with us.
He says, وَمَا رُبُّكَ بِثَلَّامٍ لِلْعَبِيدِ Allah SWT
doesn't oppress anyone.
He will just leave you with life.
In this life of ours, this dunya, Adam
came down.
The moment somebody came out of him, there
were four in population, right?
Problems start to happen.
Nowadays, what is the population of the earth?
قُلْ مَا جِئِتْ And you know I'm telling
the truth, مشاكل are everywhere.
So the only way out, only way out
is to please Rabbul Alameen so that Allah
will be in your life.
Then you'll be protected.
But if you think you're so smart, you
have your own version.
Wallahi Allah is going to leave you.
According to what we know, Allah SWT usually
leaves a person, withdraws his support from him.
Let him do the life by himself.
And if Allah SWT is treating us in
this way, trust me, we cannot make it.
Rasulullah SAW said, مَنْ أَرْضَ اللَّهَ بِسَخَطِ النَّاسِ
Please take this good news from Rasulullah SAW.
He said, if you please Allah SWT, meaning
you do what Allah asks you to do.
That which Allah asks you to do is
not harmful to anyone and it's not going
to harm anyone.
But unfortunately, Shaytan will always push those people
to think that you by being righteous, you
are a threat to the community.
Just like the Jewish community.
Juraid was a very righteous person.
Jew never left a righteous person to succeed
among them.
They hate the righteous people.
Juraid was a very righteous person.
But they hate him.
They hate what he was doing.
How come he is the only one who
is good?
And they plotted against him.
They put him into trouble.
Actually, Juraid's issue is very simple.
Even their prophets also were placed into trouble.
Musa suffered a lot.
That's why he told them, لِمَ تُؤذُونَنِي Rasulullah
SAW told us, he said, do not harm
me in the way the Jews used to
harm Musa AS.
So, relax.
Rasulullah SAW said, if you please Allah, by
doing what he asked you to do, although
there are some people who are not happy
with that, you shouldn't worry about that.
He says, Allah will take care of them.
Very nice gift.
Allah will take care of them.
That's a success.
However, if you please people in the way
Allah SWT says you don't, you shouldn't, you
displease Allah SWT just to make people happy,
Rasulullah SAW said, وَكَنَهُ اللَّهُ إِلَى النَّاسِ Allah
will let you deal with people alone.
And you know what does that mean?
You need Rabbul Alameen to be between you
and others.
Then you will be able to escape their
plot.
They are not planning good for us.
But if we are with Allah, we shouldn't
worry because Allah promised that He has to
win and anyone who attaches himself to Rabbul
Alameen must win as well.
So please, do understand that hadith of the
Prophet SAW, إِذَا صَلَّيْتَ فَصَلِّي صَلَاتَ مُوَدِّعِ When
you pray, pray as if this is the
last prayer you will have in your life.
And this is not supposed to be applicable
in the prayer alone.
Every single act of worship that you are
doing, you have to apply this khushu, consciousness.
You should know what you are doing.
You shouldn't worship Allah SWT just like that,
as a ritual.
You don't know what you are saying.
You don't know what you are doing.
Many of our prayers are like that, rituals.
No taste at all.
You get it?
We come on, we do dhikr.
How do we do dhikr?
What are we doing?
We call it dhikr.
Which dhikr?
No, we need to ask ourselves, which dhikr
is it?
You see a person, in a few seconds
he finishes لا إله إلا الله one hundred
times.
What is he doing?
I don't want to go to other versions.
I'm talking about the good ones, who are
doing the dhikr but in their own way,
rushing so much.
No, dhikr you have to be calm.
You have to know what you are saying.
SubhanAllah, subhanAllah.
Even if you make it faster, but the
pronunciation of the word must be said by
your tongue.
And you should try your best to reflect
over the meaning of what you are saying.
What is the meaning of subhanAllah?
When you say subhanAllah, what does that mean?
Yeah, Allah is free from any deficiency.
Did you ever sit down and say subhanAllah
and you have this in your brain, that
you are saying Allah SWT cannot have any
deficiency and He is free from any deficiency?
When you say لا إله إلا الله, سبحان
الله والحمد لله ولا إله إلا الله والله
أكبر ولا حول لا قوة إلا بالله Every
single part of this du'a or dhikr
has a bigger meaning.
Do you ever reflect?
No time to reflect because it's just...
So he said إذا صليت فصلي صلاة مودع
And then he says, this one you should
love it so much.
You should love everything that Prophet SAW said,
but this one is quite interesting.
It works with us a lot.
He says, وَلَا تَفْعَلْ شَيْئًا تَعْتَذِرُ مِنْهُ غَدًا
Very beautiful.
He said do not let yourself do something
that you have to go and say, I'm
sorry.
How many times we apologize?
Every time, right?
Is it good to apologize?
Yes, it's excellent for you to apologize.
Every time.
You will lie.
It's very excellent for you to apologize.
But at the same time, Rasulullah SAW wants
the best for you.
If I go to Maazin to apologize, how
do I apologize?
I'm sorry.
Maazin, if he's stronger than me, would take
his stick and get me.
This guy is not repenting.
What do I do?
I'm sorry, Maazin.
I bring myself down.
And sometimes also if it is too much,
we cry out of Nadama, you know.
Rasulullah SAW doesn't want you to be into
the situation of humiliation.
He said try your best not to cause
any harm to others in the way you
don't need to go to anyone and tell
them, I apologize.
You will lie.
I never found something that teaches us how
to be Aziz al-Nafs like this.
That means every time try to be on
time.
Try to do things according to the requirement.
You know when your license is correct, is
up to date, your road tax is up
to date.
You have everything.
When you see the police checkpoint, what happens
to you?
Do you feel any fear?
No.
You just go.
However, if you are our friend, whose license
finished maybe since 80s, I saw somebody whose
license is like that and he wants the
police to show mercy.
You get it.
If you are like that, what happens?
You have a lot of stress and you
cannot make a U-turn.
Police are very smart.
Sometimes they have somebody far there to stop
those people who are making U-turn.
You get it.
So if you have a problem, you know
you will be in a state of stress.
So what is the solution?
Always try to burn all the excuses that
somebody can have over you to ask you
for bribe.
I told you about a friend of mine.
I know this person very well.
The police stopped him.
Where is your license?
He showed Alhamdulillah.
Very good.
Road tax also up to date.
The papers of the car that shows ownership.
He has also.
So they also go around the car.
They check, you know.
They only check the lorries and all of
that.
This guy's car is a small car but
they still check that one.
What are they looking for?
Some problem so that they can charge him.
They check the tires.
All of them are intact.
The mirrors, everything is new.
The police doesn't know what to do.
He told him, Where is the fire extinguisher?
Subhanallah.
So he asked him about this.
I never heard the police asking about this.
Subhanallah.
They made a mistake.
This car was brand new.
He just opened his chair and bring that
small one.
Subhanallah.
I found it so funny.
The guy looked at him.
He smiled.
He said, Come on, brother.
Do something.
The police was telling him, Come on.
Do something.
He said, Sir, you have asked me things
which you are supposed to ask and things
which you are not supposed to ask, you
ask.
And I provided everything for you.
So please let me pass.
Subhanallah.
I like this kind of life.
And they have to let him go.
But if you are among those people who
don't care.
That's why, Wallahi, I really advise you to
apply this Hadith of the Prophet SAW in
every aspect of your life.
Try to avoid mistakes against others.
So that you don't need to go to
somebody and tell him, I'm sorry for what
I did.
That's the Hayat that Rasulullah SAW want a
Muslim to be upon.
Very strong and complete life.
And then lastly he says, وَاجْمَعِ الْيَأْسَ مِمَّا
فِي أَيْدِ النَّاسِ Subhanallah.
Very valuable advice.
And by the way, every single thing that
came from the tongue of Rasulullah SAW is
valuable.
We just need to study and look at
it properly.
Wallahi, you find a lot of things that
you need.
And you will find something in your life
that is bothering you, causing you a lot
of trouble, which is caused because of you
not knowing this Hadith.
Or you know it but you don't apply
it.
Look at these three advices given to us.
Your Ibadah should be full of consciousness and
sincerity.
And also don't you ever do things that
you will need to go and tell people,
I apologize.
And also he says, وَاجْمَعِ الْيَأْسَ مِمَّا فِي
أَيْدِ النَّاسِ He says have all types of
despair of that which other people have.
Meaning, do not show human beings that you
have interest in that which they have.
You will be Aziz.
Don't you ever let a person think that
you want what he has.
He says, turn away from it.
He says stay away from what people have
then people will like you.
May Allah SWT grant us good.
So Allah says, وَإِنَّهَا لَكَبِيرَةٌ إِلَّا عَلَى الْخَاشِعِينَ
Prayer is very heavy except those people who
have Khushu in their prayer and they fear
Allah SWT, then they will enjoy it.
So I brought that Hadith of the Prophet
SAW and the prayers of the righteous predecessors.
Why did they enjoy it that much?
And they don't mind to have long recitation
in their prayer because of what?
The tranquility and the peace of mind.
The Khushu they have in their prayer and
they try their best to observe this Khushu
in every act of worship they are doing.
And who are these Khushu that Allah SWT
is talking about?
He says, أَلَّذِينَ يَذُنُّونَ أَنَّهُمْ مُلَاقُوا رَبِّهِمْ وَأَنَّهُمْ
إِلَهِ رَاجِعُونَ Those people who have Yaqeen, الظن
هنا is Yaqeen.
Those people who have Yaqeen, that they will
be meeting Allah SWT وَأَنَّهُمْ إِلَهِ رَاجِعُونَ And
they will be taken back to Allah SWT
one day.
Trust me my dear brothers and sisters, if
you have this, your deeds are going to
be righteous for even Allah SWT.
Unless if a person doesn't have Aqal.
Otherwise, how is it possible for you to
remember that you are going to be meeting
Allah SWT and at the same time you
are not preparing yourself for this meeting.
This is what we call مُرَاقَبَةِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ
وَجَلَّ مُرَاقَبَةِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ Allah wants you
to be مُرَاقِب لِلَّهِ being mindful of Allah.
What does that mean?
Every single second in your life, you remember
Rabbul Alameen.
It doesn't mean that you should sit down
and keep on thinking about Allah SWT.
No, it's not like that.
I want to touch this one.
I should try to think about this.
Does Allah SWT want me to touch it
or not?
If the answer is no, I stay away
from it.
This is مُرَاقَبَةِ اللَّهِ I want to engage
in business.
I ask first.
Does Allah want me to be involved in
something like this or not?
If the answer is no, I stay away
from it.
That's مُرَاقَبَةِ اللَّهِ Whatever I do in this
life, I first ask myself this question.
Is it halal or not?
If the answer is negative, as a believer
who claims to be Muslim, I'm supposed to
be away from it.
Because what does the name Islam mean?
A total submission to the will of Allah
SWT.
That's the meaning of Muslim.
When you say, I'm a Muslim, this is
what you're trying to tell others.
I'm a person who does nothing except that
which Allah SWT wants me to do.
Exactly, inshallah.
So this is a very strong and powerful
belief that regulates the life of human beings,
beliefs in the hereafter.
A person who believes that he is going
to be taken back to Allah for accountability,
usually these people will be doing the right
thing because they don't want to get into
trouble when they meet Allah SWT.
Is that clear?
So Allah says,
Those people who believe that they are
going to meet Allah SWT and one day
they will be taken back to Allah sooner
or later.
So my dear brothers and sisters, this life
is short.
No matter how much you live.
وَلَوْ عَمِرْتَ عُمُرَ نُوحٍ Even if you live
the time of, the age of Nuh AS,
about 1000 plus, right?
1000 plus, right?
Nuh lived 1000 years.
Did he die?
Yes.
Dead.
Since when?
Around 8000 years ago.
8 to 9 thousand years ago.
You see he lived only 1000.
The duration he spent on the ground is
about 8 to 9 thousand years.
How long is he going to be spending
before the Day of Judgment?
Allah knows.
Rasulullah SAW died.
When?
He lived 63 years, right?
And he died, when?
1400 years ago.
How long is he going to stay on
the ground before Allah SWT bring everyone back?
Allah knows.
We don't know.
I just want you to feel how much
small and insignificant is the life here in
this dunya.
So that you will not waste your time
disobeying Allah SWT and go and get into
trouble in the life of eternity.
Eternal life.
How long is the dunya?
We're not sure.
But no matter how much, you know, long,
you know, that period of time will be
taken.
If you compare it with the Akhira, this
one will be nothing.
How long are we going to stay in
the Akhira?
Infinity.
Countless number of years.
In this dunya, let's say dunya is 1
billion years.
In the Akhira, it has no end.
No end, no end.
So which life is supposed to be favored?
Dunya or the Akhira?
Akhira.
That's why they said you have to work
for your dunya according to the time you
spend in the dunya.
And you have to work for the Akhira
according to the time you will spend in
the Akhira.
Meaning you have to make a ratio.
And the best person is the person who
maintains the balance between the Akhira and the
dunya.
Are we supposed to enjoy life?
Yes.
But just Allah wants us to do halal
things.
That's it.
You can be the richest person.
There's no problem with that.
Actually, that richness might take you to a
higher position than the poor people when you
meet Allah SWT in righteousness.
So you have a good life here.
And in the Hereafter also, you have an
excellent life.
Is that clear?
Inshallah.
May Allah grant us good and tawfeeq and
ability to do the right thing in all
of our affairs.
Innahu bi kulli jameelin kafir.
Subhanakallahumma bihamdika sharaf.
La ilaha illa ant.
Astaghfirullah wa atubu ilayhi.
Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu.
Wa alaikumussalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu.
Okay, alhamdulillah.
Mazen, any question?
I have a couple of questions.
Let's say you're doing Iqsal Qur'an and
then it comes time to pray.
Do you want to put that here?
So, may I read the surah I just
memorized?
Because I know I'm likely going to make
maybe one mistake or two mistakes.
Is this disrespecting the salah?
No, it's not.
Actually, it's good.
It's good to put your vision in the
salawat.
Yeah.
Because usually portions that you read in salah,
they're going to be stronger than the portion
that you don't read them in salah.
Yeah.
One of the best way to revise Qur
'an is to do the qiyam ul-layl,
to revise your Qur'an there.
You know.
So, in the wajibat prayer, also you can
bring those.
Those mistakes, as long as Fatihah is intact,
those mistakes are okay.
Because they are not intentionally made by you.
You also probably don't know you're doing them.
But you know that there might be some
mistakes.
It doesn't matter.
Okay.
Inshallah.
Sheikh, second question.
When trying to memorize...
When trying to memorize Mutun, I have noticed
that in the time I can memorize five
lines of the Mutun, I could memorize maybe
10 to 15 lines of the Qur'an.
So, is this normal or is it an
issue with how I memorize?
I would advise you not to go for
the Mutun before you finish your Qur'an.
Sheikh, this is the wajibat.
Oh, the wajibat.
I give you my class.
He wants to fight me in my class.
Adam, I will get you and release you
tomorrow, inshallah.
You will be the first to read those
Mutun.
My class is exception.
Right, Mazin?
Enough.
After that, don't accept Hifz.
Okay.
Other than my class.
I just don't mind.
But strategically, Qur'an comes first.
If this one is taking the time for
the Qur'an, then you have to stop.
It is better to stop.
But inshallah, mine is very little.
Inshallah.
It doesn't take.
So, please don't stop, inshallah.
Sheikh, my question is because it is taking
significantly more time than I expected.
So, is it expected?
Is the Qur'an just inherently very easy
to memorize?
We are going to make it little.
Okay.
This is just the beginning.
Because the beginning, I just want to finish
those introductions.
You know, after the introduction, then we will
come and start talking about the real qawait.
We cannot tolerate sometimes more than half a
line, actually.
Oh, wow.
You know, because we have to go through
a lot of examples.
You get it?
And some connection here and there.
So, sometimes one line, sometimes two lines.
Yeah.
We are going to have a long journey.
So, don't worry.
Don't worry.
Yeah.
Do you see him using my class as
an example?
And you are trying to defend him in
the wrong way?
General question.
Is memorizing Mutun as compared to Qur'an?
Which one is harder?
Of course, Mutun is harder than the Qur
'an.
Yeah.
Of course.
Allah says, Qur'an is the easiest thing
to be memorized.
Even much easier than the Sunnah.
Of the Prophet SAW.
It's very simple.
You just need to be committed and serious
and have good intention.
Even like Allah, you will be able to
do it in a very short period of
time.
Sorry.
I have one more question, Sheikh.
Then I'm done.
So, which one?
I have the mic.
I have the mic, brother.
Yusuf, I think he defeated you.
He said he has the mic.
Yes, Adam.
Sheikh, let's say I run a business and
this business is dangerous.
Let's say I run a security...
And you run it.
No, I'm saying, let's say, hypothetically.
It's a security guard company, right?
And let's say five people die every year.
And let's say I only give them like
bats and clubs.
But I myself, I have like a rifle,
right?
So, let's say one of my workers dies.
Can the family come to me and say,
you are a Zalim because you have a
better weapon and you gave him nothing.
But he signed the contract.
Why did he agree?
Exactly, Sheikh.
He signed the contract, so it's fine, right?
That's his fault.
You put him as a security in a
place which is a very dangerous place.
And he accepts a stick.
Which money is he looking for to put
his life in danger?
So, he is the first Zalim to himself
because you did not cheat.
You tell them, I can only give you
this.
But I myself, I have a huge amount
of weapons licensed by the authority.
The authority agreed that I can have them.
But you, I don't have money to buy
you this.
You agree?
He says, I agree.
Out of looking for money.
And then he got killed.
Who to be blamed?
Him.
Him.
Because he accepted and he knows the danger
that is around him.
He accepted.
You are not supposed to be blamed at
all.
Unless if the authority says, nobody should be
acting as a security without having this weapon.
And in this case, both of you are
doing the wrong thing.
You are responsible.
He is also responsible.
Because you are not doing that which the
authority asked you to do before.
You assign that responsibility to him.
But in the normal circumstances, you tell them,
sign the contract.
And he signed.
But I can only give you this because
this is the only thing I have.
He said, no worries.
I will use my own way.
But then he got killed.
You are not supposed to be blamed at
all.
Okay.
JazakAllah.
Give it to him.
I have a question.
For Tahiyyatul Masjid, two questions.
So one, let's say in a forbidden time
or not recommended time, like after Asr, do
we enter and pray Tahiyyatul Masjid in the
Masjid or is it not?
And the second, what about like a surah
or a prasada like this place when you
are entering that, does it apply when he
doesn't have a dedicated imam?
Tahiyyatul Masjid is commanded by the Prophet SAW.
I mean, Rasulullah SAW commanded us to pray
Tahiyyatul Masjid when we get into the Masjid.
And at the same time, also in authentic
narration, Sayyid Bukhari, a Muslim, he says, after
Salatul Asr and also during the sunrise or
sunset, a person is not allowed to pray.
Umar RA used to beat people when they
pray after Asr.
So we have two contradictory evidences.
You get it?
That's why a Muslim should stay away from
praying any prayer, the sunnah prayer, any sunnah
prayer, during the time when the sun is
about to rise and when the sun is
in the process of setting.
You get it?
And also when the sun is in the
middle of the sky, like five minutes, five
to ten minutes before the whole time.
However, other than this time, like right after
Asr, because during the sunset is about maybe
30 minutes before the sunset.
A person should avoid praying at that time.
It's too critical.
But you come into the masjid after Salatul
Asr.
Although it is a time that is prohibited
for you to pray, but Tahir al-Masjid,
you can pray Tahir al-Masjid at that
time.
You get it?
That's how we combine between the nasus and
stay away from the controversy of the scholars.
However, places like this, they're not meant for
the prayer alone.
They have football sometimes.
They have so many things inside.
So you can come and sit down without
praying the Tahir al-Masjid, inshallah.
But any place which is only for the
prayers, we call it surah, we call it
masjid, you shouldn't go and sit without praying
Tahir al-Masjid, inshallah.
Omar, Yusuf is going to fight me.
You can go ahead.
Okay, Omar.
So, when it comes to praying Qiyam al
-Lail, if someone struggles to wake up, or
if they wake up but they only have
a few minutes, so they decide to rather
stay awake the whole night to catch that
last third of the prayer, the night for
Qiyam al-Lail, is that advisable?
Yeah, as long as they are not going
to miss Fajr.
Because sometimes I stay overnight and then I
miss Fajr.
Omar r.a when he asked about a
person that he missed in the masjid, he
asked about him.
They told him they couldn't see him so
he went home.
He asked his mother.
The mother said he has been praying the
night prayers and then before Fajr he's left.
He missed Fajr.
Omar said, subhanallah, the one that he missed
is far greater than the one he got
at night.
So if you know you're going to miss
Fajr, then you have to sleep and wake
up on time and pray Fajr prayer.
That's why the best way to make it
to do what?
No, to marry.
They'll miss all of this.
Omar, this is the problem of uzal.
No wife and they think like uzal, single
person.
Seriously, that's the best because you can come
home exhausted at the last minute.
You feel that you don't want to go
to the masjid.
I'm sorry, you cannot go to the masjid
before you sleep.
You can just sleep.
The family will come and wake you up.
Good system, right?
If you don't have one, you have to
be awake or you go to the masjid
to go up and down like a drunk
person.
Anyway, I put it in this way, the
funny way, but this is true.
The best way to be waking up 4
p.m. or late is to have a
family with you.
You know.
Because one of you is going to wake
up either now.
Either you wake up or she wake up.
And then she will remind you about the
prayer, inshallah.
Subhanakallah.
Which one?
I know.
Yeah, Ibn Taymiyyah, rahimahullah, he said the salaf
as-salih when they wake up and they
find they have only little time, they increase
the amount of the raka'at.
But when they wake up and they have
enough time, they will never go against 11
raka'at because this is what the Prophet
shallallahu alaihi wa sallam chose for himself.
But when they have only little amount, they
know they cannot put, if they are praying
calmly, they cannot pray those 11 raka'at
in the nice way.
Then they increase the amount of the raka
'at, you know, reduce the recitation.
The sujood will be a lot.
And Rahman Sa'adi, he woke up one
day, one hour before Fajr.
In our time, this is a good person,
right?
One hour before Fajr.
His wife heard him saying, inna lillahi wa
inna ilayhi rajool, inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi
rajool.
She thought somebody is dead.
What happened?
He said, I miss, only one hour left.
Subhanallah, they found it's a big issue.
Shaykh Mokhtar, the first time they asked him
to join, what is that, to Utah or
I don't know which one, to answer the
questions of the students.
Yeah, so the first time he tried.
He said he was answering.
So when the students realized that Shaykh is
there, hundreds of questions came.
He said before he realized, it was almost
Fajr.
Subhanallah.
He was also saying, inna lillahi wa inna
ilayhi rajool.
And the students, all of them, because they
are just like him, they are also inna
lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajool.
In our time?
La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.
That's why that Egyptian Mu'adhin, Rifat Khan,
they brought him in the news.
That Egyptian Mu'adhin, in the Fajr prayer,
we say, as-salatu khairu minal naum, right?
He says, as-salatu khairu minal facebook.
They brought him in the news.
The government got him, right?
He says, yeah, because nowadays people are not
sleeping.
They are there with their Facebook.
Why would I tell them khairu minal naum?
Yeah.
Anyway.
Yeah, Allah SWT grant us good.
Yusuf, what was your question?
No, you have to ask.
He's going to get annoyed.
Sheikh, if there is someone who wants to
lead the Salah, but you know that this
person does not pronounce the letters properly, should
you step up or you can let him
lead the Salah?
No, you should just go very quickly to
be the imam.
Unless if he is the imam assigned for
that masjid, then to avoid clashes, you should
look at him first.
If he messes up Surah al-Fatiha, if
the Fatiha is not being recited correctly, and
it is out of negligence, not because his
tongue cannot pronounce those words, then it's haram
for you to follow him actually.
You have to look for another masjid.
Because his prayer is batil and yours also
is going to be batil.
Only Fatiha?
Only Fatiha.
The rest of the Surah's mistakes and them
is a mistake, but it doesn't invalidate the
prayer.
Sheikh, if he doesn't say the mad'in
wal-abbaghallin, and he doesn't say the mad
'in.
That one is mustahab.
You just need the harakitan for every mad'.
He has to preserve that one.
That one is wajib.
Other than that, those ones are al-tajweed
al-mustahab.
If someone is already leading the jama'at
and you join the surah, and you notice
their tajweed is not very good.
Yeah, if the Fatiha is not being recited
correctly, then you don't join them.
Yeah, because his prayer also is batil, yours
also is going to be batil.
Mazin, what happened to the people online?
None of the questions you were expecting?
Anyway, that's how life works sometimes.
Is it?
Quick question.
Oh, quick one.
So, let's say you started practicing Islam more
properly a while ago.
At that time, you have a lot of
kushu in your rabada, you have tears in
your tears.
But as time goes by, you don't have
the same kind of sweetness.
What advice do you give?
Well, a lot of istighfar.
It's a very good question.
A lot of istighfar.
If he used to be affected, you know,
by things and he cried for the sake
of Allah, but now your heart is, the
heart is very dry.
Wallahi, a person should cry and seek the
forgiveness of Allah swt.
Do a lot of istighfar.
And look into the place where he lives.
Maybe it's related to the nature of the
environment that makes him desensitized.
Change to another environment which is more practicing
Islam.
And do a lot of istighfar.
This is really necessary.
Because it is a problem.
Because it's a virtue for a person to
cry when he remembers Allah swt.
You get it?
When you used to have this, but now
you lost it, you really need to check
your life.
And the best way to make it is
just istighfar.
No need to go back and say, oh,
maybe I'm doing this, maybe I'm doing that.
Just do istighfar a lot, inshallah.
Subhanakallahumma wa bihamdika sharaa la ilaha illa and
astaghfirullah.
What if you join some people in praying
and then you hear them make a mistake
and they cut?
Then you cut.
You just continue praying alone.
You break your prayer.
You break your prayer.
Not say, assalamu alaikum, just tell yourself, now
I'm praying alone.
Complete your prayer alone and then leave the
masjid.
That's for the third time.
Subhanakallahumma wa bihamdika sharaa la ilaha illa and
astaghfirullah.
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
