AI: Summary ©
The wealth that has been given to us
is the wealth of Allah Rabbul Izzati wal
Jalal.
So we should understand that anything that we
spend is actually spending from that which Allah
has lent to us, has borrowed to us
for a short period of time.
And that is the lifespan that we have.
So if we live for 60 years, then
our wealth is actually only for that 60
years, unless we have spent something on our
own selves that will be returned to us
in the Akhirah.
What do I mean by this?
The charity that you give to another person
is actually you spending on yourself if you
think of it really and truly.
Because that wealth, had you not spent it,
would have expired with your expiration.
Meaning your access to that wealth would have
expired.
But what you gave of it remains with
Allah Rabbul Izzati wal Jalal.
Hence we see that the hadith of Rasulullah
s.a.w. tells us that the son
of Adam says that it is my wealth,
my wealth.
And is there anything that belongs to you
of your wealth except that which you ate
so you passed it, it was gone to
waste.
Or you wore it, you placed it onto
your body so it was raggedy, taggedy and
torn and it became nothing.
Or you spent in Sadaqah, you gave a
charity so you sent it forth to Allah
Rabbul Izzati wal Jalal.
So what you have spent of your money
is yours, is yours.
You spent it, you benefited from it.
What you gave Sadaqah and charity, it remains
with Allah Rabbul Izzati wal Jalal.
So if someone were to take a look
at this hadith and understand really and truly
what his wealth is, then he will come
to the realization that only that which I
have spent for the sake of Allah Rabbul
Izzati wal Jalal is what remains.
Yet the son of Adam is always saying,
it is my wealth, it is my wealth.
When someone has taken your wealth, he took
my money.
That is the statement that you hear from
a person.
My dear brother and sister in Islam, yes
most definitely he took your haq, your right
and that which was deserving to you and
perhaps he oppressed you and he took it
without your permission or he took it with
your permission and he never returned it.
Yes that is true, your haq remains.
But remember that whatever is written for you
in this dunya will come to you and
what is not written for you can be
between your lips and you will not taste
it because death was written to come to
you before that moment.
So don't be so attached to the dunya
that when you lose something of it, then
your entire world caves in.
Your entire world comes crumbling down and this
is what we find people doing today.
When they lose some of their wealth, they
find themselves completely broken down.
They don't know what to do, how to
go about it and they sometimes lose their
minds, they lose their families because of the
stress, the anxiety.
Arabic Those
who spend their wealth by day and by
night in secret and in public, they spend
it Arabic Allah Rabbul Izzati wal Jalal says,
they will have no fear and nor will
they grieve.
Let's take a look at this ayah and
really understand what Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
is telling us.
When you spend off your wealth, when you
spend off your wealth that you are attached
to, then Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says
you will not have what?
Fear, no anxiety.
Why?
Because you did it for Allah Rabbul Izzati
wal Jalal.
So the minute you find yourself having lost
some money, one, you remember that we are
returning to Allah Rabbul Izzati wal Jalal and
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will replace.
Not only will he grant me in the
akhirah but he will give me in this
dunya as well.
So that is number one.
Process number one is to remember that you
shall return to Allah Rabbul Izzati wal Jalal
and that is why we say inna lillah.
Indeed we belong to Allah.
Arabic And to him we shall return.
And number two, spend a little bit of
whatever you have left.
And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says what?
And try and implement this ayah.
Arabic They spend their wealth at night.
And in the daytime.
And they spend it in public.
You will have the reward from Allah Rabbul
Izzati wal Jalal.
And what follows?
And there will be no fear upon them.
They have no fear.
But in reality, a man has lost of
that and now he is even taking out
more.
So when you look at it from a
dunyawi perspective, when you look at it from
the perspective of the person who is attached
to this world, then he will say it
doesn't make sense.
I've just lost wealth.
How can I spend more of that which
I have already lost?
But because you did it for Allah Rabbul
Izzati wal Jalal and because you did it
with a greater purpose in mind, then Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala says, you will have
your reward with Allah Rabbul Izzati wal Jalal.
And that fear and that anxiety that you
got when you lost the money, you find
it being replaced with?
And there will be no fear upon them.
Nor will they grieve.
Grieve over what?
Grieve over the loss that they have lost
in this world.
So try and give out a charity.
What you are doing is displaying to Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala that, Ya Allah, I
am more attached to you, O Allah, than
I am attached to this dunya.
I know that today I have lost and
perhaps tomorrow I will be six feet down
coming back to you, O Allah.
So it doesn't matter.
Here is a charity, O Allah.
I give it for you and I know
that my return will be with you, O
Allah.
What is the greatest return on your investment?
10x?
20x?
I gave you today and I say I
want 15% a month and if 15
% of the profit a month and it
starts to come or you give for Allah
Rabbul Izzati wal Jalal and you wait for
the return from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
What does Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala say
about riba and sadaqah?
Not long after he speaks about those who
are giving charity.
Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala destroys riba.
Riba in the Arabic language means increase.
Increase is basically I've given you a thousand,
give me a thousand one hundred back at
the end of the month.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says you have
gained in the dunya.
For sure, it's called riba.
You are gaining in the dunya.
Allah destroys that riba.
Allah destroys that riba.
And sadaqah, charity is actually increased.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala uses this word
riba for charity.
He says it will increase.
Why?
Because it is increasing with Allah rabbul izzati
wal jalal.
Again, let us look at it from the
dunya perspective.
You have a thousand dollars.
You gave it to a man.
You told him end of the month, give
me a thousand one hundred back.
In reality in this dunya, you have actually
gained one hundred dollars.
So, a person can look at it from
this perspective.
But someone who gave a charity, had a
thousand dollars, gave one hundred dollars, he has
nine hundred left.
With Allah rabbul izzati wal jalal.
The man with a thousand one hundred, he
is actually losing.
He is losing.
And the one with nine hundred, he has
been increased.
And the irony of it is Allah uses
this word riba for sadaqah.
Why?
Because he is telling you, in reality with
Allah rabbul izzati wal jalal, you have gained.
You have gained.
So, my dear brothers and sisters in Islam,
the message is simple.
Let us not be so attached to this
dunya, that when we lose a little bit
of it, our world comes crumbling down.
And we don't know what to do, and
we don't know where to go, and we
lose our minds, and we don't know what's
going to happen.
Allah gave you in the first place.
Don't worry.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will give you
again.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will give you
again what you need to ask yourself, is
did I do something wrong to earn that
money?
If I did something wrong to earn that
money, then I know that Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala has destroyed it for a reason.
This is a lesson for me.
To learn not to engage in haram, to
learn not to engage in riba, to learn
not to eat the wealth of people.
And today, unfortunately, you have so many people
attached to the dunya to the extent that
they will lie, deceive, and cheat.
We hear of Ponzi schemes across the globe,
where people are actually taking money of the
poor, and cheating them.
They promise them, you know what, you give
me $200 today, I will give you $70
for the next 14 months.
I will give you $70 for the next
14 months.
So the poor man takes out his money,
and wallahi you think it is not happening?
Ask the people, it is happening even in
our own country.
You can find people who are promising great
returns.
And what happens?
A man is sitting, he is sitting with
a certain amount of money that he spent
his blood, sweat, and tears to get, and
then he gives that man the money, and
what happens?
Sometimes he even borrows to invest, hoping to
better his future, and he invests in that
lie, and he loses everything.
When you have lost everything, when you have
lost everything, don't forget that you have not
lost Allah Rabbul Izzati wal Jalal.
You have not lost your creator.
You have not lost your connection with Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Ask yourself, what is my recourse?
Your recourse is the masjid.
Your recourse is your sajdah.
Your recourse is your charity.
Your recourse is to go back and ask
Allah Rabbul Izzati wal Jalal.
And what happens when you give that charity,
and when you connect to Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala, you find yourself being calmed.
You find yourself in a relaxed state.
Why?
Because I have handed over my affairs to
the most powerful being that I know, the
one who controls the universe.
The one who has everything in existence under
his control.
He is the owner of everything.
He is my owner.
He gave me.
He took it away from me.
He shall give me again.
He will give me again.
And then think good of Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala.
You know when's the hardest time to think
good of Allah Rabbul Izzati wal Jalal?
When you have been struck by a calamity.
He took your money, and now I must
think good that Allah will give me back.
But you think good of Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala in that instance, and see the
results.
I am with my servant as he assumes
of me.
As he assumes of me.
If he thinks goodness of me, he thinks
that Allah will give me multifold, then it
will be goodness.
And if he thinks evil of me, if
he thinks, how will Allah give me again?
How will I get this money back again?
How will I ever go back to being
financially capable?
That is a lack of belief in Allah
Rabbul Izzati wal Jalal.
Then Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will give
you what you expect of him.
You see your tie with Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala should not be based on conditions.
Oh Allah, you gave me, so I'm connected
to you.
Oh Allah, you didn't give me, so I'm
connected to you.
Oh Allah, you gave me a family, so
I'm connected to you.
Oh Allah, you took my family away from
me, so I'm connected to you.
Regardless of whether you have or not, your
connection remains with Allah Rabbul Izzati wal Jalal.
You are constantly connected with Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala.
There is a great benefit from being connected
with Allah Rabbul Izzati wal Jalal.
Lastly, a message to those who seem to
think that it is okay to take people's
money and cheat them and deceive them.
And they seem to think that they will
get away with it.
Let us present you with a reminder from
Allah Rabbul Izzati wal Jalal.
you who have believed
الربا and leave that which is left, that
which is over and above, that which you
have lent out of riba.
So you have given a thousand dollars, a
100 extra is owed to you, take the
thousand back, leave the 100, tell the man,
you know what I don't need that because
it is riba.
If you are believers, Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala attached it to what?
To your belief in him.
So if you are believers, leave it and
don't cheat people, don't lie to people.
If you do not do
that, what will happen?
So take this
declaration of a war from Allah and his
messenger.
You are now at war with Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala.
The man who gave in sadaqah and who
was honest, what happens to him?
He's at peace, no fear, no anxiety.
And the one who stole from others, the
one who cheated others of their wealth, the
one who took riba from others, فإذنوا بحرب
Be prepared for a war
with Allah and his messenger.
Who or which believer wants to be in
a war with Allah and his messenger?
Not one of us will say, yes, I
don't mind being in a war with Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala and his messenger.
Why?
Because we know we are returning to Allah
rabbul izzati wal jalal.
That war will not only affect you when
you get to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
In this dunya, you will have no peace.
You will have no contentment.
You will have torment and difficulty.
You will continue to suffer and oftentimes it
is internally.
You know, there are all sorts of schemes.
Today I can sit and talk about how
we have those who go to the tax
authorities and they report their fellow brothers and
sisters in Islam and then they make money
through that.
Haram, haram.
And you are as good as the thief
who comes in through a person's window at
night and steals from his cupboard.
If you have done that, I remind you.
And
fear the day that you shall return to
Allah rabbul izzati wal jalal.
You shall return to your maker.
Fear that day.
Then every soul, every
nafs, every being, every self shall be given
that which it has earned.
Have you earned the wrath of Allah rabbul
izzati wal jalal by cheating and deceiving the
Muslims?
Or have you earned the pleasure of Allah
And they will
not be oppressed.
On that day, you shall receive without increase
or decrease.
Allah rabbul izzati wal jalal, He will give
you exactly what you did.
So think about what you are earning.
The one who takes the wealth of
the people.
Intending to pay it back.
That intention is very important.
You want to invest in something, you have
an idea, you have an intention to pay
back.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will pay it
back for you.
And the one who took the wealth of
the people, intending to waste it, destroy it,
not pay it back.
Allah will destroy him.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala did not say
he will destroy the wealth.
You won't get it back.
Allah said he will destroy you.
So beware.
May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala give us
the ability to change our ways.
May Allah rabbul Izzati wal Jalal make us
sincere to one another.
Ameen.
