Hosai Mojaddidi – The Arabic Language Sparked My Interest in Islam (Janeen’s Shahadah)

blessed to have sister Janine Bravo from Livermore, which is a

city very close to us here at the MCC reached out to us and say that

she wants to take her shahada with us. So alhamdulillah again,

another incredible honor for our community. Sister Janine, welcome

to MCC. It's a pleasure. Pleasure to have you pleasure to meet you.

I know. I'm curious. And I'm sure many people who will be watching

this are going to be curious to know what brought you to this

point in your journey. What What brought you to the point where you

believe that Islam is the faith for you? Well, I was raised a

Christian and I started understanding the language a

little bit, and especially through music. And I started to speak in

it. And I was pretty excited to tell my son Isaiah, you know, I'm

learning how to speak Muslim Arabic. I'm learning you know, and

he's like, Okay, I told him in Target, he was just like,

amazed, you can embarrass but anyway. And so

I shoot it because I never understood any of the language. So

I knew it was truth. Wow. So just to be clear, you're born and

raised a Christian? Yes. But then you suddenly came upon the Arabic

language? Yes. Through music, and you took to studying Arabic. Yes.

And through the study of the Arabic language you discovered

Islam? Yes. And the faith Wow, Allahu Akbar. Amazing. So when you

heard Arabic for the first time, I'm just curious, did it sound

like familiar to you did right? And then start I started like,

listening more and more and then in the prayers, that's when I

started, you know, understanding a lot. Wow, that's when I knew

because I don't even know how to speak Spanish that well. That's

amazing. So it also just curious where you also did you get access

to? Like the you mentioned prayers, like the words of the

Quran, I was doing everything on my own.

So just independent search, Masha, Allah, Allah, we say, Allah

guides, whomever he wills, and the true seekers. I mean, I've heard

that I'm sure everyone here has heard many different stories, but

I think this is one of the most remarkable that it was the

language that initially, you know, interested or made you interested

in the fate. That's incredible, mashallah, well, we are so again

honored to have you here. The, the process for shahada, which we

covered briefly is very simple. And Hamdulillah, as I mentioned,

before, we believe definitively that the fact that you're here,

you're already a Muslim, or you're you have the faith, this is just

the ceremony. So we're gonna make it pretty brief, I will repeat a

phrase, which is the declaration of faith and we are invite

everyone in participating to also repeat, we always want to renew

our, our own shahada as well when we're in these beautiful

environments. So I will say the Arabic phrase for you and then

translate the English for you. And that's it. And then at that point,

we believe that I mean, it's it's the shadow experiences is complete

and, and your shahada at that point, mashallah you are will be

welcomed people will come to you and, and embrace you into the

faith and community alright Bismillah Alright, so, Bismillah

Muhammad Rasul Allah, Su. Allah Allah, very good, Mashallah. That

could be

the law. So that is the shahada in Arabic and the the

the translation is I testify

There is no God with a small g but the one and only God. And I

testify that Muhammad is the last and final messenger of God. So how
