Hadith that is narrated in Sahih al Bukhari

in

in Kitab Badl Wahi,

it's talking about the phenomena of revelation, how

the prophet

used to receive revelation.

Well, I think this is important thing that

I hardly see anyone talking about.

I mean, our whole deen is based on

what the prophet

has taught us, whether it's Quran or Sunnah,

and all of that came through string through.

Correct?

And

we need to understand what is know more

about the phenomena of. How did the prophet

receive that?

And this hadith, we're gonna get to see

that it has a physical

element.

Just to be an evidence for the days

that are gonna come after the time of

the prophet

that

the phenomena of wahi,

it's it's not a hallucination

or

some type of mental seizure, rather it's it's

a real it's a reality.

So in the Hadith, that is narrated by

which is the the

narrator of this Hadith

or the actual man who asked the prophet

this question was the brother of Abu Jahl.

Was the brother of Abu Jahl. And how

did

he became Muslim in Mecca? During Mecca,

when the prophet

said, seek refuge, you know, just whoever

goes into their house, they're safe, whoever

goes to Dar Abu Sufyan, he saves, And

one of one of he he gave also

privilege to a lady called Umu Haneh

to to safeguard people in her in her

house.

And that Harith ibn Hashem was one of

those people.

And he became Muslim and

became very good and then

he lived till the time of

he went to to

Syria and then

he passed away there because of the plague.

They had the big plague there and he

was one of the ones who were Shahid

because of the plague.

So, in this hadith,

this

Sahabi asked the prophet

how do you receive?

Okay, we know what you say but how

is it like? We wanna understand the phenomena

itself.

So he said,

sometimes,

it will be

for me like the ringing of the bell.

He hear

a buzzing sound, the prophet

which he can't understand

at the moment,

then as soon as the angel

lists off lists off and leave, then everything

is imprinted in his heart. Because he said,

after he leaves me,

I understood and I comprehended everything that he

had said. So that's the first form. Now

someone might ask,

is the prophet

the only one who's hearing that? I'll say

no. There are a lot of other hadith

by Umar ibn Khattab radiAllahu an and other

sahaba

narrated hearing that voice. And some of them

described it like the voice of of a

boiling pot. You know, when the pot starts

boiling with water or something,

the sound that comes out of it. And

some of them said like the buzzing of

the bee. So anyhow,

it was it was it was a a

phenomena which the surrounding sahaba were able to

hear. Okay? They were able to hear. And

the other form that the prophet mentioned

that the malak, which is Jibril alaihi salam

will come in the form of a man,

and will actually teach him or tells him

whatever he's going to teach the people in

a way that is clear anyone can hear.

The first one is, like, encoded.

Only the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam understands it.

The other one is kind of clear for

everyone.

And another example of the physical exertion that

the prophets, that,

describes

that sometimes you will receive

on a cold day

and he will be sweating

hard.

He his forehead will be will be dripping

with sweat.

So that that shows that he is under

a a humongous physical

strain.

And just to give one more,

like, evidence that Wahi was something that the

Sahaba were able to see

for themselves other than what the Wahi is

teaching,

that one time Zayd bin Thabit was

sitting next to the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa

sallam, and for some reason,

the prophet's thigh

was kind of

leaning

against or on the thigh of Zaydah bin

Thabit,

and during that time, the prophet sallallahu alaihi

wasallam received an ayah which has 3 words

only. And Zayd bin Zabit, he said, I

can swear my my my side almost broke

into 2.

The prophet the prophet's body sallallahu alaihi wa

sallam became very heavy.

You see? So that's not mental, you know?

If if you're having mental problems, you're not

gonna get heavier. We put you on scale.

It's gonna stay the same. Because you might

say, why am I saying that? Well, because

some orientalists who study Islam and the history

of Islam and the phenomena of Wahi, they

try to make up some stuff. They say,

oh, it was just a mental disorder or

something. Well, first of all,

what are all of these

physical

things that are happening,

and then what is he talking about? You

know, when someone is kind of insane, they'll

say nonsense. Right? They started they start mixing

things up. But one after whatever,

what we call

whatever you guys call it,

we can see that the prophet

is bringing forth miracles like the Quran that

had that all makes sense and it's all,

consistent and

all works together. So,

so that's that's basically it for today. I

just wanted,

to tell you guys about this phenomena.

We should understand it more, and we should

understand these, this element of this Islamic history.
