So we'll go back and read the the
chapter.
They're very long so
we'll just break it up into pieces and
just read some parts of the hadith,
once a day instead of reading the whole
thing at once.
The who brings the Hadith with the son
of the of, Sayed al Hasan ibn Ali,
brother Radha'an, who the grandson of the messenger
It's a hadith that's also found indeed. Shamayil
of Imam as well. And, I'm somewhat at
a loss to why
the author of the book
brings the,
the of the hadith as somebody less known,
but
he says that grandson of the prophet
said I
asked my uncle, my maternal uncle,
Hind
Ibnu Abi Hala.
How is he his maternal uncle? Hind Ibnu
Abi Hala is one of the sons of,
Saylakadija
radiAllahu ta'ala. I'm sorry, one of the cousins
of Saylakadija radiAllahu ta'ala on her.
And so obviously
the Nasab comes from
comes from the father, not from the mother.
So it's it's
he his his I think his mother was
at any rate, he's related to the the
Hasalim through. He's an uncle of the Hasareen
through, through Sayla Khadijah.
I think he's a cousin of Sayla Fatima.
And so he was known to be a
person who
very vividly and accurately,
described the messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
And so, Sayedal Hassan obviously was a child
when the messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa
sallam passed away. So he saw him and
he remembered him, but he was young when
he left. So he wanted someone to remind
him. He said, I I really desired that
somebody,
someone described for me something about the Messenger
of Allah Sallallahu
Alaihi Wasallam so I could keep it as
a keep it as, you know, something that
I I hold on to.
And so this is a very famous hadith
actually. You'll see that that, like there's a
whole genre of calligraphy
and writing the hindia of the prophet sallallahu
alaihi wa sallam, ottomans and other people, they
they did it. So this is often times
whenever you see a description of the messenger
of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, the
the narration that's brought brought in it.
So it's saying the Hindu Abu Hala alaihi
wa sallam whom he says
that he was,
a person of majesty
and very imposing. He was a person of
grandeur. When you saw him, you you you
you would think that the person that he's
a person that, commands respect.
And his face shined
like the moon shines,
on the night of the full moon.
He was taller than average height,
but he wasn't so tall that he stuck
out, in a crowd. And this is something
I'm told culturally, I guess, we don't have
this thing in America, but
in a number of other cultures, a person
being too tall is a sign of them
being somewhat dimwitted because people who are very
big outside are clumsy.
So I think that's what's what's the murad
of mushaddah is a person who's so big
that their their gait is awkward.
Adi ibn Hama, he had a large
Adhim Al Hana, he had a large head.
So the Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, he, his
hair was
such that it wasn't
completely straight nor was it curly, rather it
had a wave or a a abandon
and so, if he if he parted it,
it was such that he parted it, then
you would see a line go down the
middle. But if he didn't part it, then
you wouldn't see any line.
His hair,
was longer than it went below the
the cartilage of his ears.
And so there are 3
there are 3
words that are were used in the hadith
to describe the length of the hair of
the messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam.
Jumma, Limma, Jumma, and Wafra.
And so all 3 of them described hair
that's either at the at the long enough
to be at the, the the the cartilage
of the ears
or long enough to just touch the the
the shoulders or in between. The said that
the hair should of a man shouldn't be
longer than the than the shoulders.
As a matter of karaha because a man
will start to resemble a woman at that
point. But I do find it interesting that,
the Nabi sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, he he
had long hair. And this I think it's
part of him being, a nabil umi and
a person who personifies the fitra. Because if
you see like native people or or, like,
aboriginal people in different places, oftentimes they'll have
long hair. Native Americans, oftentimes they have beautiful
long hair as a sign of being a
a person of health.
And, Suna Ali
who they say that he's he he he
wants to remark that there are 2 things
that the messenger
of Allah needs to do regarding his appearance
that I didn't do. 1 is that I
started wearing. He started wearing pants instead of
wearing lazar.
And the second is that I I shave
my head instead of keeping long hair. And
he says both of them is because I
find I find that they they facilitate and
made ease for me when I would go
out in jihad. But
it was understood that the Nabi Sallallahu alaihi
wa sallam had long hair. Now I mean
these are not things that prophet wasn't sent
to, like, teach people hairstyle,
but it is important to know that that
was how his hair salallahu alaihi wasallam was.
I mean, this is a whole discussion behind
the discussion. Maybe I should have said it
first. What's the point of even knowing what
the prophet salallahu alaihi wasalam looked like? Obviously,
the ulema in the past, they thought there
was a point and and they taught that
and and that's a understanding that we have.
There is a point to know what he
looks like,
sallallahu alaihi wa sallam even if every single
detail is not something that everybody have, you
know, is is is required to
to to follow at
at all times.
His color was
it shined. It didn't suck up light, but
it reflected light.
Wasi Al Jabin, he had a large forehead,
sallallahu
alaihi wa sallam.
That his eyebrows were arched
beautifully.
His eyebrows were thick, but they weren't joined
in the middle.
Right?
Which is some people have that, but that
wasn't the way the messenger of Allah was.
And he had a, in his in his
forehead,
a a vein that would
pop out. It would protrude when he would
become,
upset with something,
which the messenger of Allah did get upset
from time to time for the sake of
Allah ta'ala.
So I think this is a good place
to stop, inshallah. We've gone for some time.
Shall we talk about the the the rest
of the, the rest of Shamaal Mubarakah of
the
prophet peace by peace inshallah.
