The vikr of Allah Ta'ala, which is Mas'nu
on this day, is the Takbir,
the magnification of the glory of Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala.
The shia'at of the Muslims on this day
is Allahu Akbar, Allah ta'ala is greater.
Allah ta'ala is greater. It's an incomplete sentence.
Allah ta'ala is greater than all else other
than him.
This month is a proof, and it's a
hudja for
the believer.
This month is a proof
in
the right of the believer
that even those who are
mildly apathetic toward religiosity,
even those who are tired and lazy from
praying their salah,
even those who find themselves unable to make
it to the Masjid,
even those who find themselves unable to do
the simplest of obligations of Islam,
In this Mubarak month,
you see them giving up their food and
giving up their drink for the sake of
Allah.
Don't underestimate
what your good deeds are.
Don't overestimate them either, but don't underestimate them.
To see the greatness of your
deeds
is itself a sign with iman.
The hadith of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa
sallam with regards to the
reward
of
the acts of worship that are particularly
associated with Ramadan is what?
The person who fasts Ramadan and faith in
Allah and Iftisab, hope for a reward. The
idea that your fast is not just something
that you need to do, a necessary obstacle
and hurdle in order for you to get
to your samosas and pakoras,
in order for you to get to your
iftar parties and dinners.
No.
Rather, this is what? This is a stretch
of the day in which Allah
when he created
our father Adam alayhis salam.
All of us have one father.
When Allah created our father Adam alayhis salam
and ordered the angels
to show obsequences
in front of him.
The thought crossed Iblis' mind, Satan's mind, that
you made me out of fire and you
made him
out of Thein, out of earth.
Why should I bow in front of him?
So imagine what must have crossed the mind
of the angels that are not even made
of fire, they're made of light, something even
more pure and something even more ethereal than
that.
You see, the angels are not automatons.
They're not machines that don't think.
They're sentient living beings. It's just that nothing
pulls on them. They have no physical needs.
So
when a person only has aqal, when a
person only has a rational faculty, why would
somebody turn their
back on Allah That all of us experience
everything that we ever had, all the madad
that we ever received, everything that we ever
had that was good in our life?
All of it is from Allah
So you think the thought never crossed their
mind? In fact, it did, but they worded
their
Ishqal. I don't wanna say objection,
but their
point of clarification that they wanted from Allah
Allah in the very first juz of the
Quran, you read it in your first night
of.
If any are here, the first juz is
one that usually you can cruise through without
revising. People know it.
Will you make your vice jared in the
earth?
Somebody who will sow mischief
and spill blood.
While we're the ones who
do the rational and the logical thing which
is what? Glorify your praises
and
hold truth and keep you as sacred and
holy as you are.
What did Allah ta'ala say? He said,
This fast that you kept,
don't underestimate
it. This fast that you kept, wrapped it
up and it is a secret. It's a
mystery
that the Lord hid from some of his
creation and revealed some of his
creation.
I know the thing that you don't know,
that this Bashar, this human being,
that the jahil, the person who doesn't know
any better, would look at him and think
of him as a form of monkey.
We don't believe that, of course, but we
can see where somebody would get the wrong
impression.
I can understand how someone could get the
wrong impression.
Sometimes even people do things that even monkeys
say they're not related to us.
But imagine this, that from the time of
the crack of dawn, Fajr until sunset, a
person abstains from all of his shahawat.
Why? Showing that the weight of your body
everyone's trying to lose weight. The weight of
your body,
It doesn't bear down the
light in the nur that's inside of your
ruh, inside of your spirit,
That you're not able to liberate yourself from
your material existence
completely.
But the thing that you cannot do completely,
you don't leave completely. It shows a shawt
and you're longing for that higher realm and
that pure form of being that Allah ta'ala
created you for.
This is not a small thing. This is
a great gift.
The person who stands the nights of Ramadan
in prayer, in iman, in faith in Allah
ta'ala, and hope for reward from him.
All of his sins all of his sins
from before will be forgiven.
But that
dunya,
in which things are being bought and sold,
in which people, their hearts the strings of
their heart are pulled and they move when
rates go up by 1 or 2% or
a 10th of a percent or a hundredth
of a percent.
That dunya in which fortunes rise and fall
with small
volatility and small
changes in numbers where a person sees what
the price of gas is compared to last
week and they take note of it.
Think about this, that there is a group
of people from the creation of the Lord
that in this
Mubarak month,
for them,
the place inside the masjid, the place inside
the first stop,
the place inside the house of Allah,
look how the price went up. Brothers and
sisters, this is a what? The value of
it went up, the price went up.
This is a small dress rehearsal for the
day of judgment. The day of judgment is
described by the messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi
wa sallam as what? A day that people
are going to rove around as if they're
mad,
as if they're starving to death, as if
they're depraved.
And what will they be asking one another
for? What will they be willing to give
up everything that they ever had for?
1 Subhanallah,
1 Alhamdulillah,
1 Allahu Akbar,
1 La ilaha ilallah.
And,
all of you, you fasted this month of
Ramadan, Masha'Allah.
And then you show up to the
place of Eid, to the Musalah of Eid,
saying the name of Allah ta'ala,
glorifying and calling on nobody but him
in order for him to accept from you
your fast.
So the idea is what people come with
their issues. Everyone comes. All of us come
with our issues.
Some of us are not prompt with our
prayers.
It doesn't mean that you're debarred from the
grace of Allah ta'ala. If somebody didn't pray
their fajr, pray it right now because you'll
get much more out of it than you'll
out of the Eid prayer. And the thing
you get from the Eid prayer, you'll only
get it through Fajr. No way around it.
Some of us are struggling with our prayers.
Some of us are struggling to pay our
zakat and our salakat.
Some of us are struggling with our relationships
with others. Some of us, a lot of
us, our eyes wander, Allah to Allah forgive
us. Some of us struggle with all sorts
of bad habits, all sorts of dysfunctional relationships.
Good relationships that we need to keep, that
we're not keeping, bad relationships that we're supposed
to cut off, that we're not cutting off.
Everyone struggles with something or another.
Despite all of that, the fact that a
person can
strive, try in order to what?
Pull back recover from the secret of that
I know the thing that you don't know.
This is a great thing with Allah
This is one of the wisdom of the
legislation of the Eid prayer, which is what
everybody brings their own little piece to the
puzzle. Just like all of us struggle with
something, some all of us excel at something
or another. If you don't excel at anything
at all, someone says, I don't I'm not
good at anything at all. Just the fact
that you're aware of that, this is an
excellence that's above all of the other excellences.
Do you understand what I'm saying?
We live in a world where there are
a lot of people who violate every single
rule in the book and they then say,
Allah knows I'm a good person.
Allah knows if you're a good person or
not. That should scare you.
If a person is beholden to their own
imperfection, don't you know brothers and sisters, this
is a sign that Allah loves a person.
When a person is beholden to their own
mistakes, they can see their own mistakes.
But don't let it overwhelm you to the
point what?
To the point that you give up trying.
Don't let it overwhelm you. Rather, remember every
single person here comes with their own little
piece of the puzzle.
Together between all of us,
the puzzle is complete.
Together between all of us, the puzzle is
complete. And then when one of us says
Amin, if Allah accepts from 1 of us,
Allah accepts from all of us.
This is what this is the
brilliance of the genius of Islam.
This is the grace of the Lord.
This is why this Eid is a Mubarak
Eid, and it's worth putting on nice clothes
and putting on your good perfume and why
it's worth going and eating and drinking and
celebrating.
Allah
says in his book
Indeed there has come to you
a righteous exhortation from your lord
and a cure for the sicknesses that are
in the hearts
and
guidance and mercy
for the people who believe.
Say, because of the grace from
Allah because of his mercy,
because of that and for that, let them
celebrate.
It's better than the things that a person
spends their entire life trying to gather for
material possessions.
It's the gift that you have that other
people don't, that other people cry at night
for, other people scream for, other people take
drugs for, other people try to go to
sleep for, in order to forget that they
don't have it, other people do everything and
anything in order to quell that pain, This
is a pain that's quelled for you that
even the sinner amongst us knows,
even the sinner amongst us knows,
that when we leave from this Mubarak gathering,
Allah to Allah will have forgiven
Allah ta'ala will have forgiven us and will
have
traded in place of our sins good deeds.
Whatever prukook people have, if you owe someone
money, you still owe them money.
But the sins from the side of Allah
all of it is forgiven.
So remember this, keep this madad with you
inside of your heart on this day and
after this day and remember Allah didn't create
you in order to prop up the economy.
You are not a tool in the
mercantile economic policy of the Fed.
You are not a tool in
the revenue
generating structure of the State or of the
Federal Government, of the city, of the county.
You are not a cog in your
boss' work.
You have a job that you do in
order to feed yourself,
but your life's work is not what your
career is.
It's what It's that we should look every
day of our life for that one thing
that we're going to do because of which
our lord, Tabarak Ta'ala, from whom we came
and to whom we're going to return,
will be happy with us. That he will
peel back the cover of the secret so
that on the day of judgment, all of
the creation, mankind and the jinn, the animals,
the angels, everybody will see what? That this
person there's something inside of this person? This
is what I meant when I said
I know something that you don't
know. Your work is what? To make Allah
ta'ala pleased with you. And we don't do
this work alone, we do this work together,
that we help one another. We help one
another inside this room. We help one another
in all of the jama'at that are praying
this salat.
We help one another in terms of everyone
who says
even if they didn't make it to the
Eid prayer.
We help one another, even
our enemies, even those people who are not
here and who don't worship Allah
Even those who've taken the path of what?
Of of of materialism and of greed.
That path of what? Not caring for another
person and thinking of other people as just
props in their story.
Even those people, what you bring inside of
you, you use it and you overwhelm them.
Don't you know the history of our forefathers?
The Arabs used to bury their daughters alive.
The Rasulullah
alaihi wasalam spoke to them firmly with love
but with firmness, with conviction so so that
they knew it's not a joke. It's not
up for negotiation.
Just because your mother-in-law says something stupid doesn't
mean that you stop praying.
Just because your neighbors look at you funny
doesn't mean you stop going to the masjid.
Just because someone makes a comment about your
hijab,
it doesn't mean that
you show your nakedness to the world.
Trust me. The liberation, the end of the
liberation that they're asking for, it's not something
any of us want. It's not something that
any of them want.
Our job is what? Is to work together
in order to bring this
nur, in order to bring this light that
Allah showed to us that we love it
so much that the Rasulullah
alaihi wasallam said what?
None of you will believe until you love
for your brother what you love for yourself.
So make some sort of dedication, make some
sort of resolution inside of your heart. That
what? If you need help in order to
put your life together, that you will employ
also another secret divulged by the Messenger of
Allah salallahu alaihi wa sallam, which is what?
Allah ta'ala is there to
aid and assist his slave as long as
the slave is there to aid and assist
his brother.
This includes
the gathering of Muslims. It includes everybody.
Our father is 1, Adam alaihis salam.
Our Nabi sallallahu alaihi wasallam used to weep
tears for those people who are going headlong
in the fire. Those people that even Muslims
will make dua against. Nothing would make the
Rasool happier and bring coolness to him, to
see every single one of them make Tawba
and enter into this deep.
Help your brothers and sisters however you can,
physically, materially, most importantly, spiritually. Help them as
much as you can. Even if it's by
taking somebody by the hand and asking them
if they have someone to celebrate Eid with
today.
Even if it's something as simple as making
dua for someone. Even if it's something as
simple as sending somebody $20. You think, oh,
$20 nobody's gonna care. Trust me, when a
person receives cash, nobody's
nobody looks looks the gift horse in the
mouth especially when that horse
is Andrew Jackson
or Benjamin Franklin or any of the other
presidents that are on the line.
Whatever you can do, help your brother and
sister along the way. This is your life's
work. This is what you were made for.
This is why Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will
crown you with light on the day of
judgment, on the day where people will be
groping in the darkness, looking for a good
deed, ready to sell out their own mother
father in order to just take the Mubarak
name of Allah
once. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala all of us.
