00:00:50 --> 00:00:51

So there are 2

00:00:53 --> 00:00:53

concepts.

00:00:55 --> 00:00:58

There are 2 concepts with regards to Qadr

00:00:58 --> 00:01:01

that a person should remember and think about.

00:01:02 --> 00:01:04

One is called Tawhid, and the other is

00:01:04 --> 00:01:05

called or.

00:01:26 --> 00:01:28

So it's part of our aqidah that Allah

00:01:28 --> 00:01:32

allows whoever he wishes to to go astray.

00:01:32 --> 00:01:33

And that

00:01:36 --> 00:01:38

process of allowing someone to go astray is.

00:01:39 --> 00:01:41

And he does so by his justice,

00:01:42 --> 00:01:44

Meaning nobody is allowed to go astray except

00:01:44 --> 00:01:45

for

00:01:46 --> 00:01:46

through Allah's

00:01:48 --> 00:01:50

justice that that person be allowed to go

00:01:50 --> 00:01:51

astray.

00:01:51 --> 00:01:53

Now what does this mean through Allah justice?

00:01:55 --> 00:01:56

Ultimately

00:01:56 --> 00:01:59

to reduce all the long discussions and all

00:01:59 --> 00:02:00

of the long

00:02:05 --> 00:02:05

research

00:02:06 --> 00:02:07

and speculation

00:02:08 --> 00:02:09

into the issue.

00:02:10 --> 00:02:10

Ultimately,

00:02:11 --> 00:02:13

it boils down to the fact that we

00:02:14 --> 00:02:16

discussed before that Allah made everyone from

00:02:17 --> 00:02:18

nothing.

00:02:18 --> 00:02:20

Here come come sit here. There's chairs over

00:02:20 --> 00:02:20

your tongue.

00:02:21 --> 00:02:22

Allah

00:02:22 --> 00:02:24

made everyone from nothing.

00:02:25 --> 00:02:26

Here, I'll get have this up. Let me

00:02:26 --> 00:02:27

give you my key the keys to the

00:02:27 --> 00:02:29

office. You can go grab a chair from

00:02:29 --> 00:02:29

the office.

00:02:31 --> 00:02:33

Take this one more. No. Just you can

00:02:33 --> 00:02:34

sit next to me. It's okay.

00:02:45 --> 00:02:47

It comes again back to the issue that

00:02:47 --> 00:02:47

Allah

00:02:48 --> 00:02:51

He created everything from nothing, so his ownership

00:02:51 --> 00:02:53

over everything is complete.

00:02:53 --> 00:02:55

He can do whatever he wishes to with

00:02:55 --> 00:02:56

his property.

00:02:56 --> 00:02:57

And so if Allah

00:02:58 --> 00:03:00

allows a person to go astray,

00:03:00 --> 00:03:03

this is his justice. This is something people

00:03:03 --> 00:03:05

have these kind of bizarre types of hang

00:03:05 --> 00:03:05

ups.

00:03:06 --> 00:03:07

They say, oh,

00:03:07 --> 00:03:10

how about, you know, Jim from class?

00:03:10 --> 00:03:12

He's such a good person. He's a wonderful

00:03:12 --> 00:03:14

person. He's nice to everybody, and he's good

00:03:14 --> 00:03:17

to his parents. And he goes to church,

00:03:17 --> 00:03:19

and he believes in God. And he, you

00:03:19 --> 00:03:21

know, he doesn't even believe in the trinity,

00:03:21 --> 00:03:23

and he, you know, gives all of his

00:03:23 --> 00:03:24

money and charity,

00:03:25 --> 00:03:27

and he's so helpful and blah blah blah.

00:03:27 --> 00:03:29

Are you telling me if he knows about

00:03:29 --> 00:03:31

Islam and he doesn't accept it, that he's

00:03:31 --> 00:03:33

going to jahanam forever?

00:03:33 --> 00:03:36

And we say what? It's not our job,

00:03:36 --> 00:03:38

it's not our duty, nor is it our

00:03:38 --> 00:03:40

privilege or right to pass judgment over individuals.

00:03:41 --> 00:03:43

What happens with a person? Who they are?

00:03:43 --> 00:03:44

Who's good? Who's

00:03:45 --> 00:03:46

bad? You don't even have the ability to

00:03:46 --> 00:03:47

make that decision.

00:03:48 --> 00:03:49

Who's a good person and who's a bad

00:03:49 --> 00:03:51

person? Oh, Jim's such a good person. Why

00:03:51 --> 00:03:53

is he going to jam them? The first

00:03:53 --> 00:03:55

part is that we realize that we don't

00:03:55 --> 00:03:57

even have the ability to make that much

00:03:57 --> 00:03:58

of a decision, who's a good person or

00:03:58 --> 00:03:59

a bad person.

00:04:00 --> 00:04:02

Beyond that, the the judgment of who's going

00:04:02 --> 00:04:04

to jahannam and who's going to jannah,

00:04:04 --> 00:04:07

we vouchsafe that to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.

00:04:07 --> 00:04:09

With the exception of what? The exception that

00:04:09 --> 00:04:11

we know that Allah says that he will

00:04:11 --> 00:04:12

not forgive anybody

00:04:13 --> 00:04:14

who dies on shirk, and he will not

00:04:14 --> 00:04:17

forgive anybody who dies on kuvar. Who those

00:04:17 --> 00:04:18

people are, Allah knows

00:04:19 --> 00:04:21

best, so we don't have to. We're not

00:04:21 --> 00:04:23

neither is there any benefit in us doing

00:04:23 --> 00:04:25

so, nor are we allowed to, nor are

00:04:25 --> 00:04:28

we supposed to talk about Jim or other

00:04:28 --> 00:04:28

individuals

00:04:29 --> 00:04:31

like him or unlike him. Rather, we say

00:04:31 --> 00:04:33

whoever dies on Kufr or whoever dies on

00:04:33 --> 00:04:35

Shirk, Allah Ta'ala himself

00:04:36 --> 00:04:38

informed us in his book that those people

00:04:38 --> 00:04:41

he won't forgive them. And his word is

00:04:41 --> 00:04:43

truth. His word is and that's it.

00:04:43 --> 00:04:45

Now the next hang up that people have

00:04:45 --> 00:04:47

is that, you know, why did they get

00:04:47 --> 00:04:49

to the point where they're asking these questions

00:04:49 --> 00:04:51

about Jim or about people like that? The

00:04:51 --> 00:04:53

way they got to that point is that

00:04:53 --> 00:04:55

they had a problem in there,

00:04:56 --> 00:04:57

and they're aqidah.

00:04:58 --> 00:05:01

And that problem was a, that that either

00:05:01 --> 00:05:03

they thought that they knew more than Allah

00:05:03 --> 00:05:04

knows

00:05:04 --> 00:05:07

or they thought that they have more mercy

00:05:07 --> 00:05:07

than Allah

00:05:08 --> 00:05:10

or they thought that they have more justice

00:05:10 --> 00:05:11

than Allah

00:05:12 --> 00:05:14

And this is again an aqidah problem because

00:05:14 --> 00:05:16

we said that justice is what Allah defines

00:05:16 --> 00:05:17

it as.

00:05:18 --> 00:05:18

Knowledge

00:05:18 --> 00:05:20

completely belongs to him. It doesn't belong to

00:05:20 --> 00:05:22

you and I. And it is our belief

00:05:22 --> 00:05:25

that Allah is more merciful to all of

00:05:25 --> 00:05:26

his creation

00:05:26 --> 00:05:28

than one's own mother is.

00:05:28 --> 00:05:31

After that, whoever Allah chooses to to to

00:05:31 --> 00:05:32

punish

00:05:32 --> 00:05:34

or whoever Allah chooses to

00:05:35 --> 00:05:37

burn in the fire, or whoever Allah subhanahu

00:05:37 --> 00:05:41

wa ta'ala doesn't accept from. This is Allah

00:05:41 --> 00:05:41

decision

00:05:42 --> 00:05:44

For you to think somehow in the middle

00:05:44 --> 00:05:45

that you have more mercy than that than

00:05:45 --> 00:05:46

than Allah.

00:05:47 --> 00:05:49

This is this is a hang up of

00:05:49 --> 00:05:49

our own.

00:05:50 --> 00:05:51

There's many people have hang ups with the

00:05:51 --> 00:05:53

deen. They say, I can't believe

00:05:53 --> 00:05:55

so many people are going to be punished

00:05:55 --> 00:05:56

in the hellfire. This is your own hang

00:05:56 --> 00:05:58

up. This is my own hang up. This

00:05:58 --> 00:06:00

is not something that has to do with

00:06:00 --> 00:06:02

this is something to do with that has

00:06:02 --> 00:06:04

to do with the Islam that that the

00:06:04 --> 00:06:07

Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam taught us.

00:06:08 --> 00:06:09

Brother Sayid Muhammad SAW

00:06:10 --> 00:06:10

had

00:06:11 --> 00:06:11

more

00:06:12 --> 00:06:14

hope in the mercy of Allah Subhanahu Wa

00:06:14 --> 00:06:17

Ta'ala than anybody else, and he also understood

00:06:17 --> 00:06:18

that Allah

00:06:19 --> 00:06:22

has more power over his creation. He understood

00:06:22 --> 00:06:24

this more than anyone else understood it. So

00:06:24 --> 00:06:26

what do we say? We say that a

00:06:26 --> 00:06:28

person who is sent to the hellfire ultimately

00:06:29 --> 00:06:31

ultimately Allah has the right to send whoever

00:06:31 --> 00:06:32

to the hellfire

00:06:32 --> 00:06:35

because that's his right with his entire creation.

00:06:35 --> 00:06:37

No doubt that the one who he sends

00:06:37 --> 00:06:38

to the hellfire

00:06:38 --> 00:06:41

did something to deserve it. No doubt that

00:06:41 --> 00:06:43

that person did something to deserve it, but

00:06:43 --> 00:06:45

whatever they did to deserve it, sometimes it's

00:06:45 --> 00:06:46

so obscure

00:06:46 --> 00:06:49

from the eyes of an external observer.

00:06:49 --> 00:06:52

Someone from the outside won't know what that

00:06:52 --> 00:06:52

is.

00:06:53 --> 00:06:55

That people may grapple with it and have

00:06:55 --> 00:06:57

a hard time. And what we have to

00:06:57 --> 00:07:00

remind ourselves is what? Is that Allah

00:07:00 --> 00:07:02

will not send somebody down the path to

00:07:02 --> 00:07:04

the fire except for with a good reason.

00:07:04 --> 00:07:06

He knows better than us. And even if

00:07:06 --> 00:07:08

we don't see a reason or even if

00:07:08 --> 00:07:11

whatever reason is there, we couldn't even imagine

00:07:11 --> 00:07:12

that there could be such a reason that

00:07:12 --> 00:07:14

that person deserves something. We should know at

00:07:14 --> 00:07:16

the at the end of all of it

00:07:16 --> 00:07:19

that Allah has the right to punish anybody.

00:07:19 --> 00:07:20

He created

00:07:20 --> 00:07:22

because he's the one who created them. So

00:07:22 --> 00:07:24

any punishment that any person gets is from

00:07:24 --> 00:07:25

the of Allah.

00:07:28 --> 00:07:31

You have no blessing except for from Allah.

00:07:31 --> 00:07:33

What's further than that? Even your good deeds

00:07:33 --> 00:07:35

are a favor from Allah.

00:07:35 --> 00:07:37

Now tell me if somebody gives gives a

00:07:37 --> 00:07:38

$1,000,000,000

00:07:38 --> 00:07:41

in charity. You have these crazy Bill Gates

00:07:41 --> 00:07:42

and,

00:07:43 --> 00:07:44

Shun Ho, this,

00:07:44 --> 00:07:46

the Facebook guy and

00:07:46 --> 00:07:48

Warren Buffett and all these people. They're giving

00:07:49 --> 00:07:50

1,000,000,000 of dollars in charity,

00:07:51 --> 00:07:53

albeit over a long period of time, and

00:07:53 --> 00:07:55

the numbers massage certain ways in order to

00:07:55 --> 00:07:57

make it not as impressive at the end

00:07:57 --> 00:07:59

of it. But it's still a lot more

00:07:59 --> 00:08:00

than you and I will give with so

00:08:00 --> 00:08:01

much sincerity.

00:08:01 --> 00:08:02

Right?

00:08:03 --> 00:08:05

A person might might, you know, wonder, oh,

00:08:05 --> 00:08:07

that's, you know, that person, surely, there should

00:08:07 --> 00:08:09

be no reason that person be punished for

00:08:09 --> 00:08:10

anything.

00:08:10 --> 00:08:12

The fact of the matter is that even

00:08:12 --> 00:08:12

the

00:08:13 --> 00:08:15

the fact that Allah gave them so much.

00:08:15 --> 00:08:17

Allah gave them so much so that they

00:08:17 --> 00:08:19

could give in charity.

00:08:19 --> 00:08:21

This is a in and of itself a

00:08:21 --> 00:08:22

favor that Allah

00:08:22 --> 00:08:24

gave them. So they all lie even more

00:08:24 --> 00:08:27

than a normal person does. Because you and

00:08:27 --> 00:08:28

I didn't receive that favor from Allah

00:08:29 --> 00:08:31

ta'ala. And the fact that someone would receive

00:08:31 --> 00:08:33

a favor like that from Allah

00:08:33 --> 00:08:36

and then afterward choose not to thank him

00:08:36 --> 00:08:38

for it. This is in fact a a

00:08:38 --> 00:08:40

a sin worse than a sin that a

00:08:40 --> 00:08:42

poor man could commit on on their own.

00:08:43 --> 00:08:44

You have to understand that even the good

00:08:44 --> 00:08:46

deeds a person does, the good deeds a

00:08:46 --> 00:08:48

person does is a gift from Allah subhanahu

00:08:48 --> 00:08:51

wa ta'ala. It is sufficient for a person

00:08:51 --> 00:08:52

that they should deserve to go to the

00:08:52 --> 00:08:53

hellfire,

00:08:53 --> 00:08:55

That they attribute all of their own good

00:08:55 --> 00:08:58

deeds to themselves and not to Allah.

00:08:58 --> 00:09:00

In fact, this is the condition, the of

00:09:00 --> 00:09:01

Shaitan.

00:09:01 --> 00:09:03

Shaitan, they they it comes in the

00:09:04 --> 00:09:05

that there is not a mold there or

00:09:05 --> 00:09:07

shib it in. There's not a hands breath

00:09:07 --> 00:09:10

worth of place in the heavens or in

00:09:10 --> 00:09:12

the earth except for he made to Allah.

00:09:17 --> 00:09:19

The the the student of the angels that

00:09:19 --> 00:09:21

he sought knowledge from all of the angels.

00:09:22 --> 00:09:22

He was a student

00:09:23 --> 00:09:26

for 1000 of years. He studied the the

00:09:26 --> 00:09:29

sacred knowledge and studied about this this this

00:09:29 --> 00:09:30

a creation of Allah

00:09:31 --> 00:09:33

and studied Allah about Allah

00:09:33 --> 00:09:36

about spiritual matters. He did all of these

00:09:36 --> 00:09:39

things only in the end to attribute his

00:09:39 --> 00:09:40

righteousness to himself

00:09:41 --> 00:09:43

and not to attribute it to Allah subhanahu

00:09:43 --> 00:09:45

wa ta'ala and it made him. It made

00:09:45 --> 00:09:45

him a.

00:09:46 --> 00:09:47

Shaitan,

00:09:48 --> 00:09:50

the most cursed. So a person should never

00:09:50 --> 00:09:52

wonder why is a person

00:09:52 --> 00:09:54

going to be punished in the hellfire despite

00:09:54 --> 00:09:55

their good deeds.

00:09:56 --> 00:09:57

If they're in Kufr, if a person is

00:09:57 --> 00:09:59

in Kufr, that means that even their good

00:09:59 --> 00:10:01

deeds become a bad deed or an affront

00:10:01 --> 00:10:02

to

00:10:02 --> 00:10:05

Allah because they're not showing to Allah for

00:10:05 --> 00:10:06

what they had. So Allah

00:10:07 --> 00:10:10

whoever he sends to the fire. It's our

00:10:10 --> 00:10:12

that we that he sends that person

00:10:12 --> 00:10:14

to the fire through his justice.

00:10:14 --> 00:10:15

This

00:10:15 --> 00:10:17

this process of and what is this?

00:10:18 --> 00:10:20

We don't say Allah forces a person, okay,

00:10:20 --> 00:10:22

now you commit zina, you commit kufra, you

00:10:22 --> 00:10:24

commit you do all of these sins, and

00:10:24 --> 00:10:25

the person says, I don't want to do

00:10:25 --> 00:10:27

it, but they start doing it anyway.

00:10:27 --> 00:10:30

Rather, it's more akin to, like, for example,

00:10:31 --> 00:10:33

you have you have you have a a

00:10:33 --> 00:10:34

a a,

00:10:35 --> 00:10:36

you know, 2 people

00:10:36 --> 00:10:38

that are walking right next to each other.

00:10:39 --> 00:10:41

Right? And you know the person walking next

00:10:41 --> 00:10:44

to you, and you know them very well,

00:10:44 --> 00:10:46

and you're talking to them, and you see

00:10:46 --> 00:10:47

in front of them, there's, like, an uncovered

00:10:47 --> 00:10:50

manhole. You know, sewer manholes, and there's uncovered

00:10:51 --> 00:10:52

manhole. And you see that your friend is

00:10:52 --> 00:10:54

walking straight to the manhole,

00:10:55 --> 00:10:56

and you have an idea in your head

00:10:56 --> 00:10:58

that that friend doesn't know that that manhole

00:10:58 --> 00:10:59

is there and uncovered,

00:11:00 --> 00:11:02

and you could say something to him,

00:11:03 --> 00:11:05

but you decide not to. And lo and

00:11:05 --> 00:11:08

behold, after, you know, like 30 seconds, your

00:11:08 --> 00:11:11

French falls into the manhole and disappears.

00:11:12 --> 00:11:14

This is what is indeed. The language of

00:11:14 --> 00:11:15

the Arabs,

00:11:16 --> 00:11:19

is to leave, leave, leave, leave your friend

00:11:19 --> 00:11:21

high and dry. Right? To leave them high

00:11:21 --> 00:11:22

and dry, not to not to help them

00:11:22 --> 00:11:24

out when they need help. And so this

00:11:24 --> 00:11:26

is the idea with everybody. That all of

00:11:26 --> 00:11:28

the creation, we need help from Allah

00:11:29 --> 00:11:30

constantly.

00:11:30 --> 00:11:32

Do you ever wonder there's a hadith, all

00:11:32 --> 00:11:33

these hadith of the prophet

00:11:35 --> 00:11:37

regarding the angels of mercy that surround a

00:11:37 --> 00:11:37

person

00:11:38 --> 00:11:39

and that a dog if there's a dog

00:11:39 --> 00:11:41

in the house, the angels of mercy will

00:11:41 --> 00:11:43

not enter into the house or if there

00:11:43 --> 00:11:45

are pictures up in the house, pictures of

00:11:45 --> 00:11:47

animate life, the angels of mercy will not

00:11:47 --> 00:11:50

enter into that house. What does that mean?

00:11:50 --> 00:11:52

What are those angels? What's the point of

00:11:52 --> 00:11:54

those angels? Right? There are all sorts of

00:11:54 --> 00:11:56

competing effects that pull on a person's heart

00:11:56 --> 00:11:57

and on a person's

00:11:58 --> 00:11:59

from the unseen.

00:12:00 --> 00:12:02

And so if you're in a good place,

00:12:02 --> 00:12:03

then good effects come. You come to the

00:12:03 --> 00:12:04

Masjid

00:12:04 --> 00:12:07

and good thoughts come. By and large, I'm

00:12:07 --> 00:12:08

going to read salat.

00:12:09 --> 00:12:10

I'm going, I would love to read the

00:12:10 --> 00:12:12

Quran. I would love to do something good.

00:12:12 --> 00:12:14

I would love to make Tawba etcetera. Maybe

00:12:14 --> 00:12:17

some bad thoughts come because it's you and

00:12:17 --> 00:12:19

I, whatever we have with us, we bring

00:12:19 --> 00:12:20

it with us into the masjid as well.

00:12:20 --> 00:12:23

But by and larger person is protected from

00:12:23 --> 00:12:25

the full brunt of the the attack of

00:12:25 --> 00:12:27

Shaitan when they come into a a good

00:12:27 --> 00:12:29

place, when a in a place with good

00:12:29 --> 00:12:29

effects.

00:12:30 --> 00:12:31

Is what? Imagine

00:12:32 --> 00:12:34

Allah says, fine. You're you did all these

00:12:34 --> 00:12:36

good things on your own. Go fend for

00:12:36 --> 00:12:37

yourself.

00:12:37 --> 00:12:39

So a person, all the protections around their

00:12:39 --> 00:12:42

heart are removed. Like the lampshade is removed

00:12:42 --> 00:12:44

from a candle. You know what a candle

00:12:44 --> 00:12:46

is. Right? The candle is something

00:12:46 --> 00:12:48

a little bit of wind comes, it'll blow

00:12:48 --> 00:12:48

it out.

00:12:49 --> 00:12:51

You put a lampshade around the candle, why?

00:12:51 --> 00:12:53

Right? One of the main reasons for putting

00:12:53 --> 00:12:55

a lampshade around a candle is to protect

00:12:55 --> 00:12:57

it from the wind blowing,

00:12:57 --> 00:12:59

to protect it from the wind blowing. Now,

00:12:59 --> 00:13:01

does lifting the shade off of

00:13:02 --> 00:13:04

a candle, does it put the fire out?

00:13:05 --> 00:13:07

No. It's the wind that puts it out.

00:13:07 --> 00:13:09

But if you lift the shade, the candle's

00:13:09 --> 00:13:10

all of a sudden in great peril.

00:13:11 --> 00:13:13

That's what the the likeness is, the

00:13:14 --> 00:13:15

is that

00:13:15 --> 00:13:16

Allah

00:13:16 --> 00:13:19

if he ever elects to remove the protection

00:13:19 --> 00:13:21

of your iman that he provides you. Right?

00:13:21 --> 00:13:24

If you ever elects to remove. Right? You're

00:13:24 --> 00:13:25

in the security business.

00:13:26 --> 00:13:28

You know, if if you're, you know, have,

00:13:28 --> 00:13:31

like, armored car driving through the hood and

00:13:31 --> 00:13:33

you have all these gunmen and whatnot, and

00:13:33 --> 00:13:35

you're in the, like, the worst part of

00:13:35 --> 00:13:35

the south side,

00:13:36 --> 00:13:38

you know, and the person the driver says

00:13:38 --> 00:13:40

something to annoy you. You know, it's a

00:13:40 --> 00:13:42

different company or whatever. He says, I'm not

00:13:42 --> 00:13:43

gonna pay you or whatever. He said, okay.

00:13:43 --> 00:13:45

No problem. You and your boys just leave

00:13:45 --> 00:13:47

and it's the driver that's just there unarmed.

00:13:47 --> 00:13:49

And it says, whatever, armored car cash service.

00:13:50 --> 00:13:52

And there's, like, 50 guys on the stoop

00:13:52 --> 00:13:53

in front of you, and it's been a

00:13:53 --> 00:13:54

red light for the last, you know, 3

00:13:54 --> 00:13:56

minutes. What's gonna happen?

00:13:57 --> 00:13:58

They're gonna get jacked.

00:13:59 --> 00:14:01

Did you jack them? No. No. But what

00:14:01 --> 00:14:03

you did is called well, obviously, you didn't

00:14:03 --> 00:14:04

do it, but in the example,

00:14:04 --> 00:14:06

right, in the example, that's what's called.

00:14:07 --> 00:14:09

You say, okay. You wanna do this on

00:14:09 --> 00:14:10

your own. You're big. You're not gonna pay

00:14:10 --> 00:14:12

me. You're gonna talk back to me.

00:14:12 --> 00:14:14

Go here. Go ahead. Deal with it on

00:14:14 --> 00:14:16

your own. Right? So that's what

00:14:16 --> 00:14:20

is. Whoever Allah does that to do that's

00:14:20 --> 00:14:22

from his justice. It's completely within his rights

00:14:22 --> 00:14:23

to do it and he won't do it

00:14:23 --> 00:14:25

to a person and tell somebody,

00:14:26 --> 00:14:29

somebody does something so stupid that they earn

00:14:29 --> 00:14:31

that. They earn that. They say, okay, you

00:14:31 --> 00:14:33

wanna do it on your own? You don't

00:14:33 --> 00:14:35

need Allah. You don't need his help. Go

00:14:35 --> 00:14:36

do it on your own now.

00:14:37 --> 00:14:39

And whatever that happens, that's the justice of

00:14:39 --> 00:14:39

Allah.

00:14:40 --> 00:14:43

Let nobody blame Allah for it. Everybody who

00:14:43 --> 00:14:43

the happens

00:14:44 --> 00:14:45

to, it's their own fault.

00:14:45 --> 00:14:47

And what are we supposed to learn from

00:14:47 --> 00:14:49

this? This is not like, oh, looks stupid.

00:14:49 --> 00:14:52

Sinners. They, you know, happen to them. They

00:14:52 --> 00:14:54

deserve it. All of us should read into

00:14:54 --> 00:14:56

this that this could happen to any of

00:14:56 --> 00:14:56

us.

00:14:57 --> 00:14:58

We should be very careful about what we

00:14:58 --> 00:15:00

do. We should be very careful about what

00:15:00 --> 00:15:01

we say.

00:15:02 --> 00:15:04

Allah sees us. It's time for fajr. You

00:15:04 --> 00:15:06

know, he sees when you hit the snooze

00:15:06 --> 00:15:09

button instead of waking up, you know, or

00:15:09 --> 00:15:11

when you turn it off instead of waking

00:15:11 --> 00:15:12

up, he he sees that when it's time

00:15:12 --> 00:15:15

to eat or drink something, when it's time

00:15:15 --> 00:15:17

when someone gave you too much change back,

00:15:17 --> 00:15:20

somebody gave you 50¢ too much back at

00:15:20 --> 00:15:20

the store,

00:15:21 --> 00:15:22

You could go give it back to the

00:15:22 --> 00:15:25

person or they'll never notice. Or you could

00:15:25 --> 00:15:26

sell Islam for 50¢,

00:15:27 --> 00:15:28

and he sees you when you do that.

00:15:28 --> 00:15:31

Every single thing a person does like that,

00:15:31 --> 00:15:31

Allah

00:15:32 --> 00:15:34

sees it. A person should always be afraid.

00:15:34 --> 00:15:35

You Allah

00:15:36 --> 00:15:38

that that that you Allah protect me from

00:15:38 --> 00:15:40

ever being put in a position where I

00:15:40 --> 00:15:41

get that I get that thing that you

00:15:41 --> 00:15:44

remove the lampshade around my iman, that that

00:15:44 --> 00:15:47

you removed the security of around my iman,

00:15:47 --> 00:15:49

the the armor from my iman. Yeah, Allah,

00:15:49 --> 00:15:51

don't ever do that to me because if

00:15:51 --> 00:15:53

you leave me alone like that, I'll never

00:15:53 --> 00:15:54

make it. It's a difficult world. It's a

00:15:54 --> 00:15:56

tough life to get through.

00:15:56 --> 00:15:59

Everyone should see that and remember that when

00:15:59 --> 00:16:01

they do their actions and remember the actions

00:16:01 --> 00:16:03

that they did in the past as well.

00:16:03 --> 00:16:05

Whatever actions that they did in the past

00:16:05 --> 00:16:08

as well. Seek forgiveness from Allah to Allah.

00:16:08 --> 00:16:10

So many things a person thinks, oh, maybe

00:16:10 --> 00:16:11

it wasn't even a sin.

00:16:12 --> 00:16:14

Yeah. If you have to think about it,

00:16:14 --> 00:16:16

then you should seek forgiveness for it.

00:16:16 --> 00:16:18

If you have to think about it, then

00:16:18 --> 00:16:20

you should seek forgiveness for it because the

00:16:20 --> 00:16:21

fact that you had to think about it

00:16:21 --> 00:16:23

alone means it's gonna look bad.

00:16:24 --> 00:16:26

If a person sought forgiveness for something and

00:16:26 --> 00:16:28

it turned out not to be a sin

00:16:28 --> 00:16:29

on the day of judgement.

00:16:29 --> 00:16:32

What's gonna happen? Is there any loss? No.

00:16:32 --> 00:16:33

Toba is free.

00:16:34 --> 00:16:35

There's no loss. In fact, it will be

00:16:35 --> 00:16:38

written as a good deed for you. Because

00:16:38 --> 00:16:39

of your fear of Allah,

00:16:39 --> 00:16:41

even your good deeds, you sought forgiveness for

00:16:41 --> 00:16:43

them. But on the flip side, what if

00:16:43 --> 00:16:44

it is a sin, you

00:16:45 --> 00:16:47

didn't repent from it? It could be a

00:16:47 --> 00:16:49

problem over there. It could be an even

00:16:49 --> 00:16:52

bigger problem over here. So people oftentimes people

00:16:53 --> 00:16:56

there's the human psychology has all kind of

00:16:56 --> 00:16:57

self defense mechanisms.

00:16:57 --> 00:16:59

This is what the nafs is, the ego,

00:16:59 --> 00:17:00

the nafs.

00:17:00 --> 00:17:02

The nefs is there to make you always

00:17:02 --> 00:17:04

feel that you're number 1. Everything you do

00:17:04 --> 00:17:06

is wonderful. You know, the world, you know,

00:17:06 --> 00:17:08

would love you if they could only understand

00:17:08 --> 00:17:11

how wonderful and unique of a snowflake you

00:17:11 --> 00:17:13

are and all of this other nonsense.

00:17:13 --> 00:17:14

The nafs is there to tell you all

00:17:14 --> 00:17:17

of those things. Right? Okay. So nobody can

00:17:17 --> 00:17:20

function without an ego. If somebody has

00:17:21 --> 00:17:22

no, right, they'll say,

00:17:23 --> 00:17:25

I'm gonna pray. Oh, I don't think I'm

00:17:25 --> 00:17:26

so weak. Even if I tried, I wouldn't

00:17:26 --> 00:17:28

make it. You know? That's you're not supposed

00:17:28 --> 00:17:30

to destroy the nuffs to that point. At

00:17:30 --> 00:17:32

that point, you need to see a psychiatrist

00:17:32 --> 00:17:34

and probably take some pills as well.

00:17:35 --> 00:17:38

Right? But you're supposed to break the nuts

00:17:38 --> 00:17:39

to the point where at least

00:17:40 --> 00:17:41

at least when it tries to make justifications

00:17:42 --> 00:17:43

for things that

00:17:43 --> 00:17:44

have no justification

00:17:44 --> 00:17:47

or justification for things that are doubtful,

00:17:47 --> 00:17:48

that you should be able to pull it

00:17:48 --> 00:17:50

off and say no. This is something that

00:17:50 --> 00:17:51

was doubtful.

00:17:54 --> 00:17:55

I seek

00:17:55 --> 00:17:58

forgiveness from Allah, my lord, for every sin,

00:17:58 --> 00:18:00

and I turn to him in repentance.

00:18:00 --> 00:18:02

Why? Because any one of those things that

00:18:02 --> 00:18:04

we don't think it's a big deal. The

00:18:04 --> 00:18:07

the the psychiatric self defense mechanism a person

00:18:07 --> 00:18:08

has

00:18:08 --> 00:18:09

inside their head,

00:18:09 --> 00:18:12

that's the self defense mechanism is very harmful

00:18:12 --> 00:18:14

because it will oftentimes make our sins

00:18:15 --> 00:18:17

seem to us like not a sin or

00:18:17 --> 00:18:18

like not a big deal.

00:18:21 --> 00:18:24

The believer doesn't defend himself. Why? Because

00:18:29 --> 00:18:31

Allah is the one who defends the people

00:18:31 --> 00:18:32

who believe.

00:18:32 --> 00:18:34

You don't need to defend yourself. If you

00:18:34 --> 00:18:36

did something bad, make Tawba. If you did

00:18:36 --> 00:18:39

something good, make You didn't do something even

00:18:39 --> 00:18:40

better than that.

00:18:41 --> 00:18:43

Allah will defend you. Don't worry about it.

00:18:43 --> 00:18:44

It's a hadith of the prophet

00:18:49 --> 00:18:50

said one time a man entered into the

00:18:50 --> 00:18:53

in the presence of the messenger of Allah

00:18:55 --> 00:18:56

And he started to,

00:18:57 --> 00:18:59

accuse him of things and accuse him of

00:18:59 --> 00:19:02

things that that he was not guilty of.

00:19:02 --> 00:19:05

And he sat patiently and listened and listened

00:19:05 --> 00:19:06

and listened.

00:19:07 --> 00:19:09

And, he he would, you know, he just

00:19:09 --> 00:19:10

answered very politely.

00:19:11 --> 00:19:13

And then after a while, that man's accusations

00:19:13 --> 00:19:17

became so much, became so much that that

00:19:17 --> 00:19:19

became upset with him and said, look, you're

00:19:19 --> 00:19:21

out of line. This thing you said doesn't

00:19:21 --> 00:19:23

make sense. This thing you said doesn't and

00:19:23 --> 00:19:24

he started arguing back with him.

00:19:25 --> 00:19:27

And and before when the Musaidah Abu Bakr

00:19:27 --> 00:19:28

was patient, the prophet

00:19:29 --> 00:19:32

was smiling. And when Seyda Abu Bakr began

00:19:32 --> 00:19:32

to

00:19:32 --> 00:19:36

defend against the accusations by countering this man,

00:19:36 --> 00:19:38

the Nabi sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, the smile

00:19:38 --> 00:19:39

left his face and he got up and

00:19:39 --> 00:19:40

left the room.

00:19:40 --> 00:19:42

Later, he asked the Messenger of Allah sallallahu

00:19:43 --> 00:19:43

alaihi wasallam,

00:19:44 --> 00:19:45

why is it that when this man was

00:19:45 --> 00:19:47

saying all these horrible things to me and

00:19:47 --> 00:19:49

I was silent. You were smiling. And then

00:19:49 --> 00:19:52

when I started to defend myself, you got

00:19:52 --> 00:19:54

upset and left the room. He said

00:19:55 --> 00:19:57

he said that when you what you didn't

00:19:57 --> 00:19:59

see is that when you were patient and

00:19:59 --> 00:20:01

listening to the abuse the man was giving

00:20:01 --> 00:20:04

you. Allah sent an angel and the angel

00:20:04 --> 00:20:07

was was was countering every single thing that

00:20:07 --> 00:20:08

that man said.

00:20:08 --> 00:20:10

And when you got upset and started to

00:20:10 --> 00:20:12

yell back at the man, said the angel

00:20:12 --> 00:20:14

left the room and Shaitan entered. And the

00:20:14 --> 00:20:16

and Shaitan are not going to sit in

00:20:16 --> 00:20:18

the same room at the same time.

00:20:18 --> 00:20:21

Now, obviously, this doesn't mean, okay, somebody

00:20:21 --> 00:20:23

accused you of murder and you have a

00:20:23 --> 00:20:25

good alibi but I'm not going to defend

00:20:25 --> 00:20:28

myself because you know, Allah defends the people

00:20:28 --> 00:20:30

who believe. There's one thing that's defending yourself,

00:20:30 --> 00:20:32

you know, giving the facts

00:20:33 --> 00:20:36

and exonerating yourself from something wrong someone accused

00:20:36 --> 00:20:38

you of. Then there's the other thing of

00:20:38 --> 00:20:41

defending yourself as an, I'm a special snowflake.

00:20:41 --> 00:20:43

How dare you accuse me of that? My

00:20:43 --> 00:20:43

person.

00:20:44 --> 00:20:47

My person, I'm so, like, special. How dare

00:20:47 --> 00:20:48

you say that about me? Don't you know

00:20:48 --> 00:20:49

how good I am?

00:20:50 --> 00:20:52

Right? That's the thing you have to separate.

00:20:52 --> 00:20:55

That second amount of stuff, there's no profit

00:20:55 --> 00:20:57

in it. There's no benefit in it ever.

00:20:58 --> 00:21:01

If somebody accuses your person and you're a

00:21:01 --> 00:21:02

good person,

00:21:02 --> 00:21:04

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will defend you in

00:21:04 --> 00:21:06

this world and he will defend you in

00:21:06 --> 00:21:07

the hereafter

00:21:07 --> 00:21:09

and he will load your sins onto your

00:21:09 --> 00:21:11

accuser and he will load his good deeds

00:21:11 --> 00:21:12

onto you.

00:21:14 --> 00:21:16

And it's all for free. You didn't have

00:21:16 --> 00:21:17

to do anything to to earn it.

00:21:18 --> 00:21:20

But if you're a bad person

00:21:20 --> 00:21:22

and a person came and accused you and

00:21:22 --> 00:21:24

abused you, then Allah will make it as

00:21:24 --> 00:21:25

a kafarah,

00:21:25 --> 00:21:26

as a expiation

00:21:27 --> 00:21:29

for you in this world, that you paid

00:21:29 --> 00:21:31

for your sin in this world through this.

00:21:31 --> 00:21:32

And

00:21:33 --> 00:21:34

your will make that sin forgiven.

00:21:35 --> 00:21:37

So don't defend yourself as as a self.

00:21:44 --> 00:21:45

Right? They said that, they said that you,

00:21:45 --> 00:21:47

Yusuf Alaihi Islam.

00:21:47 --> 00:21:49

What does he say? He says, he says,

00:21:49 --> 00:21:50

when the the

00:21:51 --> 00:21:52

about the the

00:21:52 --> 00:21:53

the the the

00:21:54 --> 00:21:54

uh-uh

00:21:55 --> 00:21:56

wife of the Aziz

00:21:56 --> 00:21:56

who

00:21:57 --> 00:21:59

who tries to, assault him.

00:22:00 --> 00:22:01

And it's found out that she's the one

00:22:01 --> 00:22:03

who's guilty and he's not guilty.

00:22:03 --> 00:22:04

He says what?

00:22:05 --> 00:22:08

He says that I don't hold my own

00:22:08 --> 00:22:09

nafs to be blameless in this matter.

00:22:10 --> 00:22:12

Why? Because the nafs by its very nature

00:22:12 --> 00:22:13

is

00:22:13 --> 00:22:16

is commanded to that which is evil. It

00:22:16 --> 00:22:19

always commands that which is evil except for

00:22:19 --> 00:22:21

the one that Allah has mercy on. Meaning,

00:22:21 --> 00:22:23

Allah had mercy on me. That's why I'm

00:22:23 --> 00:22:24

not guilty.

00:22:24 --> 00:22:26

Otherwise, I could have been guilty.

00:22:27 --> 00:22:28

I could have been every one of us

00:22:28 --> 00:22:31

could have been don't ever it's very important.

00:22:31 --> 00:22:32

Right? This is all part of our and

00:22:33 --> 00:22:34

and it has to do with our spirituality

00:22:35 --> 00:22:35

as well.

00:22:36 --> 00:22:37

Anyone could have been guilty.

00:22:37 --> 00:22:39

That's why it's a hadith of that nobody

00:22:39 --> 00:22:40

will

00:22:40 --> 00:22:42

will mock or jeer or look down on

00:22:42 --> 00:22:44

a sinner because of the sin that that

00:22:44 --> 00:22:45

person commits

00:22:45 --> 00:22:48

except for Allah will test that person with

00:22:48 --> 00:22:49

the same sin before he dies.

00:22:51 --> 00:22:53

Why? Because all of us are commanded to

00:22:53 --> 00:22:55

know the lesson that it could have been

00:22:55 --> 00:22:57

us that did it. It could have been

00:22:57 --> 00:22:58

us.

00:22:58 --> 00:23:00

It's were it not for the father and

00:23:00 --> 00:23:02

the grace of Allah, it could have been

00:23:02 --> 00:23:04

us. That's what we're supposed to get out

00:23:04 --> 00:23:06

of it rather than, oh, look how wonderful

00:23:06 --> 00:23:08

we are and how horrible these people. It

00:23:08 --> 00:23:10

could have been us. If the roles were

00:23:10 --> 00:23:11

reversed, it could have been us.

00:23:12 --> 00:23:13

It could have been us except for the

00:23:13 --> 00:23:15

Rahma and the mercy of Allah.

00:23:16 --> 00:23:18

So the so when a person hears this,

00:23:18 --> 00:23:21

that whoever Allah allows to go go astray,

00:23:21 --> 00:23:23

that person, he allows them to go astray

00:23:23 --> 00:23:24

through their justice.

00:23:24 --> 00:23:26

Instead of crying about the jahannam that you

00:23:26 --> 00:23:28

think Jim is going to, even though you

00:23:28 --> 00:23:30

don't know, and you were not given the

00:23:30 --> 00:23:33

right to to even make that decision, even

00:23:33 --> 00:23:34

if it were true.

00:23:35 --> 00:23:38

Instead of crying over Jim's supposed,

00:23:39 --> 00:23:41

you should cry because your that you think

00:23:41 --> 00:23:43

you're going to is not secure.

00:23:43 --> 00:23:44

It's not guaranteed.

00:23:45 --> 00:23:47

You should cry for your own self. You

00:23:47 --> 00:23:49

should cry for your own. You should cry

00:23:49 --> 00:23:51

for that jahannam that you ascribed to Jim

00:23:51 --> 00:23:53

that might be yours. This it comes to

00:23:53 --> 00:23:54

the hadith of the prophet

00:23:57 --> 00:23:59

protect all of us. That a person who

00:23:59 --> 00:24:00

dies on iman,

00:24:00 --> 00:24:00

Allah

00:24:01 --> 00:24:03

will show him his the angels will show

00:24:03 --> 00:24:05

that person in the grave, a window to

00:24:05 --> 00:24:07

the hellfire, and show them this is the

00:24:07 --> 00:24:09

place Allah had created for you in Jahannam.

00:24:09 --> 00:24:11

But because you did good in this life,

00:24:11 --> 00:24:13

Allah ta'ala has traded in its place, a

00:24:13 --> 00:24:14

place in Jannah.

00:24:14 --> 00:24:16

But a person should always keep that in

00:24:16 --> 00:24:18

mind. There's a place created for every single

00:24:18 --> 00:24:20

one of us. It's not just for Jim.

00:24:20 --> 00:24:21

For every single one of us, we are

00:24:21 --> 00:24:24

praying salat in the masjid and reading and

00:24:24 --> 00:24:26

giving zakat and all of these wonderful things.

00:24:26 --> 00:24:28

And we don't eat pork and all of

00:24:28 --> 00:24:30

these great things. There's a place created for

00:24:30 --> 00:24:33

every single one of us. And by Allah's

00:24:33 --> 00:24:34

if he wishes to, he can send each

00:24:34 --> 00:24:36

and every one of us to him. And

00:24:36 --> 00:24:38

we should always invoke Allah by by his

00:24:39 --> 00:24:41

by his grace, you Allah, even if we

00:24:41 --> 00:24:44

deserve to go there. Allah, from your grace,

00:24:44 --> 00:24:46

protect us from it because you're the one

00:24:46 --> 00:24:48

who can. Nobody can do it other than

00:24:48 --> 00:24:50

you. So we ask from your father. And

00:24:50 --> 00:24:53

Allah, if somebody asks, you have a good

00:24:53 --> 00:24:57

opinion, Allah, whoever asks him in sincerity Allah

00:24:57 --> 00:24:58

doesn't leave anybody

00:24:59 --> 00:24:59

empty handed.

00:25:03 --> 00:25:05

And Allah guides whoever he wishes,

00:25:06 --> 00:25:07

and he will

00:25:07 --> 00:25:10

he will give them Tofik. Right? You've heard

00:25:10 --> 00:25:11

the word Tofik as well?

00:25:12 --> 00:25:13

Right? Remember

00:25:14 --> 00:25:16

and are like 2 sister terms.

00:25:16 --> 00:25:17

Is

00:25:18 --> 00:25:20

when Allah allows you to walk into the

00:25:20 --> 00:25:20

hole.

00:25:22 --> 00:25:23

You can't blame him for it. It's your

00:25:23 --> 00:25:24

own fault.

00:25:24 --> 00:25:25

Right?

00:25:25 --> 00:25:28

But that's what is. He wasn't he he

00:25:28 --> 00:25:30

he decided, I I don't wanna be there

00:25:30 --> 00:25:31

for this person. I don't wanna be there

00:25:31 --> 00:25:32

to stop them or save them.

00:25:33 --> 00:25:35

Is the flip side. It's the other way

00:25:35 --> 00:25:35

around.

00:25:36 --> 00:25:39

Is what? Is you wanna do something good.

00:25:39 --> 00:25:41

You wanna do something good, and Allah wants

00:25:41 --> 00:25:42

you to do it.

00:25:43 --> 00:25:45

You know, it's like a little kid A

00:25:45 --> 00:25:47

little kid wants to do something. You know,

00:25:47 --> 00:25:47

wants to,

00:25:48 --> 00:25:49

you know, say a kid you know, it's

00:25:49 --> 00:25:51

time for salat. You know, children

00:25:51 --> 00:25:54

oftentimes like to read salat with their parents,

00:25:54 --> 00:25:56

like small kids. You know?

00:25:56 --> 00:25:58

And so, like, it's time for salat,

00:25:58 --> 00:26:00

and you get out your your prayer rug

00:26:00 --> 00:26:03

and you lay it down. And there's another

00:26:03 --> 00:26:05

prayer rug and the kid wants to reach

00:26:05 --> 00:26:07

for it, you know, but his hand won't

00:26:07 --> 00:26:07

reach.

00:26:07 --> 00:26:09

You know? So you take the pick the

00:26:09 --> 00:26:10

kid up and then, you know, his hand

00:26:10 --> 00:26:12

could reach and he pulls it out, and

00:26:12 --> 00:26:14

the kid lays his own prayer rod next

00:26:14 --> 00:26:16

to yours and he prays with you. That's

00:26:16 --> 00:26:17

what is.

00:26:18 --> 00:26:19

Right? Is that you and I, we reach

00:26:19 --> 00:26:22

for something, but our hand isn't reaching there.

00:26:22 --> 00:26:24

So Allah picks you up and says, okay.

00:26:24 --> 00:26:25

Get it done.

00:26:25 --> 00:26:27

All of our good deeds are like that.

00:26:28 --> 00:26:30

There's so many good deeds, so many people

00:26:30 --> 00:26:31

would love to do.

00:26:31 --> 00:26:34

I know, brother Salam, if Allah gave him

00:26:34 --> 00:26:34

a $1,000,000,000,

00:26:35 --> 00:26:36

he would spend all of it in the

00:26:36 --> 00:26:38

path of Allah ta'ala. Right? But you don't

00:26:38 --> 00:26:40

have it yet, do you? So sometimes Allah

00:26:40 --> 00:26:42

gave it to us, sometimes doesn't give it

00:26:42 --> 00:26:44

to us. So Sure. 1,000. $91,000 short.

00:26:45 --> 00:26:46

Uh-huh? $91,000

00:26:50 --> 00:26:51

Right? So, but there are so many things

00:26:51 --> 00:26:54

also that that he he you know that

00:26:54 --> 00:26:55

he he wants to do. He loves to

00:26:55 --> 00:26:57

do and Allah gave him to do it.

00:26:57 --> 00:26:59

So many things you and I want to

00:26:59 --> 00:27:00

do and love to do. Allah gave us

00:27:00 --> 00:27:02

to do it. How many people are here

00:27:02 --> 00:27:03

right now

00:27:03 --> 00:27:05

listening to the

00:27:05 --> 00:27:07

the the the reminder of the deen of

00:27:07 --> 00:27:07

Allah and

00:27:08 --> 00:27:10

how many people are at home watching television.

00:27:11 --> 00:27:13

From amongst the Muslims, it's the majority. Maybe

00:27:13 --> 00:27:15

this is not even 1% of the community,

00:27:15 --> 00:27:17

and maybe the Muslim community is not even

00:27:17 --> 00:27:18

1% of Rockford.

00:27:19 --> 00:27:21

Right? How many people are at their homes

00:27:21 --> 00:27:24

not not right now, not hearing the remembrance

00:27:24 --> 00:27:26

of Allah in his Rasool Allahu alaihi wa

00:27:26 --> 00:27:27

sallam. This is toffee.

00:27:27 --> 00:27:30

I gave you an extra special

00:27:30 --> 00:27:32

help that other people didn't receive.

00:27:32 --> 00:27:34

You know? And that you keep asking Allah

00:27:34 --> 00:27:37

from his. You keep asking Allah from his

00:27:38 --> 00:27:39

one day he'll make you do something

00:27:40 --> 00:27:42

that that people marvel. How did that person,

00:27:42 --> 00:27:44

how is that person able to do what

00:27:44 --> 00:27:46

they were able to do? It was all

00:27:46 --> 00:27:47

from the of Allah.

00:27:48 --> 00:27:50

And if the if the if the

00:27:50 --> 00:27:51

of Allah

00:27:52 --> 00:27:55

happens by what? If it happens by

00:27:55 --> 00:27:57

uh-uh Allah's justice. The of

00:27:57 --> 00:28:00

Allah happens by his by his grace.

00:28:00 --> 00:28:03

His grace. Grace meaning what? That he gave

00:28:03 --> 00:28:05

you and he gave me the thing that

00:28:05 --> 00:28:07

we didn't deserve. The thing we did nothing

00:28:07 --> 00:28:09

to earn. There's nothing compelling him to give

00:28:09 --> 00:28:11

it to us. But he gives it to

00:28:11 --> 00:28:12

us because he's Allah.

00:28:13 --> 00:28:15

It's less of a statement of how pious

00:28:15 --> 00:28:17

and righteous we are. And more of a

00:28:17 --> 00:28:19

statement of how how perfect

00:28:19 --> 00:28:22

and glorious Allah is. That's what he says,

00:28:24 --> 00:28:27

right? It's like an expression, right? The root

00:28:27 --> 00:28:28

Sabaha means to swim.

00:28:29 --> 00:28:30

Means to swim.

00:28:30 --> 00:28:33

Right? And the Arabs used to used to

00:28:33 --> 00:28:35

fear the ocean. They're not a they're not

00:28:35 --> 00:28:37

a seafaring people until Islam.

00:28:37 --> 00:28:40

Before Islam, they weren't a seafaring people.

00:28:40 --> 00:28:44

Saidna Saidna Muawiyah radiallahu and who was commissioned

00:28:44 --> 00:28:44

by

00:28:46 --> 00:28:48

to build the 1st navy of the Muslims.

00:28:49 --> 00:28:50

They had to hire Greeks to build the

00:28:50 --> 00:28:51

ships for them

00:28:51 --> 00:28:53

and to teach them how to

00:28:53 --> 00:28:56

run the crews and things like that. Obviously,

00:28:56 --> 00:28:58

later on, the Muslims develop a very high

00:28:59 --> 00:29:00

maritime tradition.

00:29:00 --> 00:29:03

There's a time when the Mediterranean Sea, the

00:29:03 --> 00:29:05

Europeans used to post that this is the

00:29:05 --> 00:29:07

Roman lake, and there was a time when

00:29:07 --> 00:29:10

the Ottoman Imperial Fleet was so so feared

00:29:10 --> 00:29:12

in the in the Mediterranean Ocean

00:29:13 --> 00:29:15

that the combined fleets of Genoa and Venice,

00:29:15 --> 00:29:17

they had standing orders never to engage the

00:29:17 --> 00:29:20

Muslims in battle because it's just a good

00:29:20 --> 00:29:21

way of wasting your ships.

00:29:21 --> 00:29:24

They would just flee. They would have outposts.

00:29:24 --> 00:29:25

They would see where their ships they would

00:29:25 --> 00:29:27

just flee from battle. That's all.

00:29:28 --> 00:29:30

Right? But the thing is that the was

00:29:30 --> 00:29:31

something, said

00:29:34 --> 00:29:36

the for permission to build a fleet.

00:29:36 --> 00:29:39

Said Naomar asked his senior Sahaba what their

00:29:39 --> 00:29:40

opinion was

00:29:40 --> 00:29:42

about this. He asked, has anyone gone on

00:29:42 --> 00:29:45

a ship before on a long voyage? Said,

00:29:45 --> 00:29:46

no, Abdul Abin Mus'

00:29:47 --> 00:29:48

He said, yes. I went on a ship

00:29:48 --> 00:29:51

once. There was a storm. It was horrible.

00:29:51 --> 00:29:54

We were stranded in the ocean like worms

00:29:54 --> 00:29:55

on a piece a plank of wood. We

00:29:55 --> 00:29:57

don't know when we're gonna sink and we're

00:29:57 --> 00:29:59

all gonna die. Said the Hamer said, forget

00:29:59 --> 00:30:00

it. I'm not going to make any believer

00:30:01 --> 00:30:01

uh-uh

00:30:02 --> 00:30:04

mount a ship and do anything like that.

00:30:04 --> 00:30:06

Said now said now as man

00:30:06 --> 00:30:08

who was more open minded.

00:30:18 --> 00:30:20

He didn't use to try out new things.

00:30:20 --> 00:30:22

Right? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

00:30:22 --> 00:30:24

There's a lot of Hikma in that. Sayidna

00:30:24 --> 00:30:26

Umar was more willing to try to

00:30:26 --> 00:30:29

to to, trust his young and talented commanders,

00:30:29 --> 00:30:31

and so he trusted Said no

00:30:31 --> 00:30:34

says, okay, son. You wanna build the ship?

00:30:34 --> 00:30:36

Build the ships. Go ahead and build them.

00:30:36 --> 00:30:38

But one thing I'll say is that anyone

00:30:38 --> 00:30:40

who goes on any of those ships,

00:30:41 --> 00:30:42

I won't force them. You have to ask

00:30:42 --> 00:30:44

them if they wanna go or if they

00:30:44 --> 00:30:46

don't. If somebody doesn't wanna stay on the

00:30:46 --> 00:30:48

ship, he considered like a that they would

00:30:48 --> 00:30:50

make a person, go on the ship because

00:30:50 --> 00:30:53

of the dangers that they felt from it.

00:30:53 --> 00:30:55

Why? Because Arabs had an aversion to the

00:30:55 --> 00:30:56

sea. So

00:30:57 --> 00:30:59

when he says, right, meaning, it means like

00:30:59 --> 00:31:00

Allah is like unattainably

00:31:01 --> 00:31:02

far far away.

00:31:03 --> 00:31:04

He's not like you and he's not like

00:31:04 --> 00:31:05

me.

00:31:05 --> 00:31:08

He's unattainably far away. If someone were to

00:31:08 --> 00:31:10

say, oh, look. You're in Alaska. There's Russia.

00:31:10 --> 00:31:12

Swim there. It doesn't work that way.

00:31:12 --> 00:31:13

It doesn't work that way. You cannot swim

00:31:13 --> 00:31:14

like that.

00:31:14 --> 00:31:17

Maybe someone does still sing their their praises

00:31:17 --> 00:31:19

in song for, like, centuries.

00:31:19 --> 00:31:22

Normal people cannot do stuff like that. So

00:31:22 --> 00:31:24

the when we say that's who Allah is.

00:31:24 --> 00:31:26

So when you ask Allah for his father,

00:31:27 --> 00:31:29

when you ask Allah for his father, don't

00:31:29 --> 00:31:31

ask because of who you are.

00:31:31 --> 00:31:33

Don't ask because who who I

00:31:34 --> 00:31:35

am. Ask because who he is.

00:31:36 --> 00:31:38

Because if we go through our record,

00:31:39 --> 00:31:40

if we add, we're gonna end up in

00:31:40 --> 00:31:41

the department.

00:31:42 --> 00:31:44

You ask because who you are. If we

00:31:44 --> 00:31:46

ask because who we are, it's not gonna

00:31:46 --> 00:31:48

work out. But if we ask him because

00:31:48 --> 00:31:50

of who he is, he is.

00:31:51 --> 00:31:53

He's the one who describes himself that his

00:31:53 --> 00:31:54

grace is is magnificent.

00:31:55 --> 00:31:58

It's huge. It's amazing. It's beyond your

00:31:59 --> 00:32:01

ability to appreciate and beyond my ability to

00:32:01 --> 00:32:02

appreciate.

00:32:02 --> 00:32:04

So ask from his father. Don't ask because

00:32:04 --> 00:32:08

how wonderful we are. Whoever receives that

00:32:08 --> 00:32:10

will allow them to do what a normal

00:32:10 --> 00:32:11

person is not able to do in their

00:32:11 --> 00:32:12

lifetime

00:32:12 --> 00:32:14

in terms of goodness and righteousness

00:32:15 --> 00:32:17

and and and in terms of benefiting themselves

00:32:17 --> 00:32:19

and others in this world and the hereafter.

00:32:29 --> 00:32:29

Every person,

00:32:30 --> 00:32:31

it will be made

00:32:31 --> 00:32:33

will be facilitated

00:32:33 --> 00:32:35

by Allah's facilitation

00:32:35 --> 00:32:36

to that which Allah

00:32:38 --> 00:32:40

knew regarding that person's fate.

00:32:41 --> 00:32:44

In the past and based on what Allah

00:32:44 --> 00:32:45

wishes for that person

00:32:45 --> 00:32:47

from or from Saeed.

00:32:48 --> 00:32:50

If that person is going to be happy

00:32:50 --> 00:32:52

or if that person is going to be

00:32:52 --> 00:32:52

wretched.

00:32:53 --> 00:32:55

And happiness is not happy as in, like,

00:32:55 --> 00:32:57

you know, Pharrell Williams and I'm dancing like

00:32:57 --> 00:32:57

a moron

00:32:58 --> 00:32:59

on a YouTube video.

00:32:59 --> 00:33:01

Happy is the one who is happy forever.

00:33:03 --> 00:33:04

You know, some people you see some people

00:33:04 --> 00:33:06

are very serious about their deen in this

00:33:06 --> 00:33:09

world. You see them praying all the time,

00:33:09 --> 00:33:11

maybe never a smile on their face, always

00:33:11 --> 00:33:12

reading Quran,

00:33:13 --> 00:33:14

never engaging in chitchat.

00:33:15 --> 00:33:16

Obviously, to be serious all the time is

00:33:16 --> 00:33:19

not the sunnah, but this is something that

00:33:19 --> 00:33:21

overcomes certain people because the deen is something

00:33:21 --> 00:33:24

very serious. It overcomes them. You cannot blame

00:33:24 --> 00:33:27

every person for not being perfectly like the

00:33:27 --> 00:33:27

prophet

00:33:29 --> 00:33:31

all the time. But everyone knows somebody who's

00:33:31 --> 00:33:34

so serious about deen. They're just very serious

00:33:34 --> 00:33:35

people. You'll see them.

00:33:35 --> 00:33:37

They'll be dancing like the people dance in

00:33:37 --> 00:33:39

this world. You'll see them. You'll be surprised

00:33:39 --> 00:33:41

to say, you? You're so serious. The dunya.

00:33:41 --> 00:33:43

How come you're dancing like a like a

00:33:43 --> 00:33:44

teenager?

00:33:44 --> 00:33:47

Your music and wine and all of these

00:33:47 --> 00:33:48

things. It looks

00:33:49 --> 00:33:50

strange. Where's your beard?

00:33:50 --> 00:33:53

You're wearing all these beautiful clothes. What happened

00:33:53 --> 00:33:53

to you?

00:33:54 --> 00:33:54

Say, listen.

00:33:55 --> 00:33:57

That time that time is done. That time

00:33:57 --> 00:33:57

is gone.

00:33:58 --> 00:33:59

This time, Allah made for us to enjoy.

00:34:00 --> 00:34:02

Maybe other people will go to Jannah also,

00:34:02 --> 00:34:03

but they won't enjoy as much as those

00:34:03 --> 00:34:04

people will enjoy.

00:34:05 --> 00:34:08

Those people, they'll be like normal Jannah people,

00:34:08 --> 00:34:09

then they'll be the super guys who are,

00:34:09 --> 00:34:11

like, party. That's it. You know, like in

00:34:11 --> 00:34:13

this world, some people party harder than others.

00:34:13 --> 00:34:16

You know? I like to show up on

00:34:16 --> 00:34:17

time, and I like to be the last

00:34:17 --> 00:34:19

person who leaves. I like to bring things.

00:34:19 --> 00:34:21

If someone brings something to eat or drink,

00:34:21 --> 00:34:22

I'll eat it and drink it, and it

00:34:22 --> 00:34:23

shows.

00:34:24 --> 00:34:25

I won't say no to anybody because I

00:34:25 --> 00:34:26

like to party hard.

00:34:27 --> 00:34:28

Some people, you invite them to a party.

00:34:29 --> 00:34:31

You know? They'll take a 100 excuses to

00:34:31 --> 00:34:33

stay home. Oh, I gotta review for this.

00:34:33 --> 00:34:35

I have to study. Listen, man. Don't worry.

00:34:36 --> 00:34:37

Until I went to Madras, I never studied

00:34:37 --> 00:34:38

for anything.

00:34:39 --> 00:34:41

I used to have, for the time, not

00:34:41 --> 00:34:42

even go to class. I just take the

00:34:42 --> 00:34:43

exams, and I'm done. I don't care about

00:34:43 --> 00:34:45

that. Right? You know, I have to go

00:34:45 --> 00:34:47

to work tomorrow. Don't worry. You'll wake up.

00:34:47 --> 00:34:50

You know? 6 hours of sleep, 4 hours.

00:34:50 --> 00:34:52

You'll make it. Don't worry. You know? Some

00:34:52 --> 00:34:54

people are like that. Right? You'll see those

00:34:54 --> 00:34:56

people over there. The those people. Right? The

00:34:56 --> 00:34:58

the one Allah so that's the happy one

00:34:58 --> 00:35:00

is the one who's happy like that forever.

00:35:01 --> 00:35:02

Not the one who's happy over here like

00:35:02 --> 00:35:04

that. And the wretched one is the one

00:35:05 --> 00:35:06

protect

00:35:06 --> 00:35:08

us. The one who's wretched in the what

00:35:08 --> 00:35:10

are we going to do if Allah writes

00:35:10 --> 00:35:11

us amongst them?

00:35:12 --> 00:35:12

A

00:35:13 --> 00:35:15

person will be asked after a minute in

00:35:15 --> 00:35:15

the fire.

00:35:16 --> 00:35:18

Did you have any any good? Was there

00:35:18 --> 00:35:20

any good or any enjoyment you had in

00:35:20 --> 00:35:23

this world? They'll say, yeah, Allah, we never

00:35:23 --> 00:35:26

enjoyed anything in our life ever. Nothing nothing

00:35:26 --> 00:35:29

good ever happened to us. People spend 1,000,000,000

00:35:29 --> 00:35:30

of dollars partying.

00:35:30 --> 00:35:33

Right? 1,000,000,000 of dollars or types of wealth

00:35:33 --> 00:35:35

you and I cannot even imagine.

00:35:35 --> 00:35:37

And people like us, simple people like us,

00:35:37 --> 00:35:40

small amount of money, make us happy. So,

00:35:40 --> 00:35:41

oh, look how nice the car is, how

00:35:41 --> 00:35:43

nice the house is. There are people who

00:35:43 --> 00:35:45

have destroyed the wealth of nations,

00:35:45 --> 00:35:47

the wealth of entire nations. What happens?

00:35:48 --> 00:35:50

Dies. They found out that person has 1,000,000,000

00:35:50 --> 00:35:52

of dollars in the, you know, in their

00:35:52 --> 00:35:54

accounts stashed away. A $1,000,000,000 is a lot

00:35:54 --> 00:35:55

of money.

00:35:56 --> 00:35:58

Who can eat, you know, how many you

00:35:58 --> 00:35:59

live for a 100 years?

00:36:01 --> 00:36:02

If you live for a 100 years, that

00:36:02 --> 00:36:04

means you have to spend how many you

00:36:04 --> 00:36:06

have to spend? You have to spend,

00:36:06 --> 00:36:07

a $10,000,000

00:36:08 --> 00:36:09

every year.

00:36:10 --> 00:36:11

Right? If you have $10,000,000

00:36:12 --> 00:36:14

every year, how many how many dollars do

00:36:14 --> 00:36:16

you have to spend every day? You know,

00:36:16 --> 00:36:18

you have to you have to literally, you

00:36:18 --> 00:36:19

have to spend, like,

00:36:20 --> 00:36:21

$100,000 a day.

00:36:21 --> 00:36:22

Who can eat a

00:36:23 --> 00:36:25

$100,000 worth of food? Find the most expensive

00:36:25 --> 00:36:26

food in the world. Who can eat a

00:36:26 --> 00:36:29

$100,000? Nobody can do it. Who can live

00:36:29 --> 00:36:29

in a $100,000

00:36:30 --> 00:36:31

worth of house every day? You build a

00:36:31 --> 00:36:33

new house and then you can't do it.

00:36:33 --> 00:36:35

It's impossible. It doesn't you know? So after

00:36:35 --> 00:36:38

after a certain so people destroyed so much.

00:36:38 --> 00:36:41

Those people enjoyed so much, never got caught,

00:36:41 --> 00:36:44

never no revolution, no Arab Spring or Ajam

00:36:44 --> 00:36:45

Spring or anything.

00:36:45 --> 00:36:46

Irish Spring, nothing.

00:36:47 --> 00:36:49

They got away scot free in this world.

00:36:50 --> 00:36:52

Right? Those people, they're gonna be asked, well,

00:36:52 --> 00:36:53

did you ever enjoy anything? I said, no.

00:36:53 --> 00:36:54

Yeah. Oh, yeah.

00:36:55 --> 00:36:57

I never enjoyed anything ever. I never knew

00:36:57 --> 00:36:57

enjoyment.

00:36:58 --> 00:37:01

In my existence, I never knew enjoyment. That's

00:37:01 --> 00:37:03

the wretched that we're talking about. Those people,

00:37:03 --> 00:37:04

Allah

00:37:05 --> 00:37:07

knew who they were from the the beginning,

00:37:07 --> 00:37:08

and

00:37:09 --> 00:37:10

Allah made it easy for them to every

00:37:10 --> 00:37:12

one of them to go to the slot

00:37:12 --> 00:37:15

that they were assigned by Allah. Again, like

00:37:15 --> 00:37:16

we said before,

00:37:17 --> 00:37:19

you know, the knowledge of Allah having control

00:37:19 --> 00:37:21

over all of these things.

00:37:21 --> 00:37:23

It's simply there so that you and I

00:37:23 --> 00:37:25

can ask Allah, you Allah, You're the one

00:37:25 --> 00:37:27

who's in control of all of this. You

00:37:27 --> 00:37:29

Allah, please don't make me from amongst that

00:37:29 --> 00:37:31

you wrote to be the wretched ones.

00:37:32 --> 00:37:34

Please don't make me amongst those who you

00:37:34 --> 00:37:36

wrote to be the wretched ones. The rest

00:37:36 --> 00:37:38

of it, trying to jump into the system

00:37:38 --> 00:37:41

and deprogram it and understand why Allah did

00:37:41 --> 00:37:42

everything he did or how he did everything

00:37:42 --> 00:37:44

he did. You and I are never going

00:37:44 --> 00:37:46

to be able to understand it, and there's

00:37:46 --> 00:37:49

no point in it other than trying to,

00:37:49 --> 00:37:50

confuse ourselves.

00:37:51 --> 00:37:52

It's an exercise in madness.

00:38:02 --> 00:38:03

Allah is too exalted

00:38:03 --> 00:38:06

that anything should ever happen in his dominion

00:38:07 --> 00:38:08

that he doesn't wish to happen.

00:38:10 --> 00:38:12

Right? So this is something that we

00:38:12 --> 00:38:14

that we say what? We say that this

00:38:14 --> 00:38:16

is beyond our definition of Allah,

00:38:17 --> 00:38:19

that anything should happen in this world that

00:38:19 --> 00:38:20

he didn't want to happen.

00:38:21 --> 00:38:21

There's

00:38:29 --> 00:38:30

but but it doesn't make a lot of

00:38:30 --> 00:38:32

sadder in the sense that it happened and

00:38:32 --> 00:38:33

he didn't want it to happen.

00:38:34 --> 00:38:36

Do you understand what I'm saying? If someone

00:38:36 --> 00:38:38

takes a teacher gives an exam

00:38:39 --> 00:38:42

and a student gets questions wrong on it.

00:38:42 --> 00:38:44

Right? It's not that the it's it's it

00:38:44 --> 00:38:47

doesn't you know, the teacher will fail the

00:38:47 --> 00:38:48

student.

00:38:48 --> 00:38:49

Right? Allah

00:38:50 --> 00:38:51

so the teacher is not it doesn't mean

00:38:51 --> 00:38:53

that the the teacher is,

00:38:54 --> 00:38:56

what you call somehow

00:38:57 --> 00:38:58

in a dilemma

00:38:59 --> 00:39:01

that what the student wrote just because they

00:39:01 --> 00:39:02

wrote it, it becomes right somehow.

00:39:03 --> 00:39:05

No. The teacher knew that the student may

00:39:05 --> 00:39:06

have even known that the student is gonna

00:39:06 --> 00:39:08

fail, and the teacher allowed the student to

00:39:08 --> 00:39:09

fail.

00:39:09 --> 00:39:11

And even though the the student writing the

00:39:11 --> 00:39:13

wrong answer is not something the teacher wants

00:39:14 --> 00:39:16

in the sense that, like, if the teacher

00:39:16 --> 00:39:17

were asked, you know, do you want this

00:39:17 --> 00:39:19

kid to get get it wrong? No. It

00:39:19 --> 00:39:20

would be better if the kid got it

00:39:20 --> 00:39:21

right. I would prefer that.

00:39:22 --> 00:39:24

But if if the teacher were afraid of

00:39:24 --> 00:39:26

students getting things wrong, then he wouldn't have

00:39:26 --> 00:39:28

administered the exam at

00:39:28 --> 00:39:30

all. Allah, there's certain deeds that he's pleased

00:39:30 --> 00:39:33

with in the sense that they conform with

00:39:33 --> 00:39:35

what what he what what

00:39:35 --> 00:39:37

standard he established as being good.

00:39:38 --> 00:39:40

But somebody doing something bad, there's no one

00:39:40 --> 00:39:42

who's gonna be able to do something bad

00:39:42 --> 00:39:43

against his will. He's and

00:39:50 --> 00:39:50

that happened, and god was helpless to change,

00:39:50 --> 00:39:52

or god was this and that happened, and

00:39:52 --> 00:39:53

God was helpless to

00:39:53 --> 00:39:56

change, or God was grieved that somebody did

00:39:56 --> 00:39:58

this, that, and the other thing. We don't

00:39:58 --> 00:40:00

believe that. They're Christians. I mean, the the

00:40:00 --> 00:40:02

thing is that one of the reasons people

00:40:02 --> 00:40:02

become atheists,

00:40:03 --> 00:40:05

one of the reasons that people become atheists

00:40:05 --> 00:40:07

Muslims have atheism problem. Why?

00:40:07 --> 00:40:10

Because culturally, we're dead. So culturally, we started

00:40:10 --> 00:40:10

to

00:40:11 --> 00:40:12

imitate the,

00:40:12 --> 00:40:14

civilization of the Europeans

00:40:15 --> 00:40:16

and of the Americans.

00:40:17 --> 00:40:19

So their problems, we make them into our

00:40:19 --> 00:40:19

problems,

00:40:20 --> 00:40:21

but they're not really our problems.

00:40:22 --> 00:40:23

One of the reasons that they have a

00:40:23 --> 00:40:25

hard time believing in god is because they

00:40:25 --> 00:40:27

don't have they have the idea that god

00:40:27 --> 00:40:28

is just like

00:40:29 --> 00:40:30

a a superhuman,

00:40:30 --> 00:40:32

but they don't have idea of Allah being

00:40:32 --> 00:40:34

Allah truly in control like we do.

00:40:35 --> 00:40:36

Right? What do you read? You read in

00:40:36 --> 00:40:38

the Bible. Right? It's one of the last

00:40:38 --> 00:40:38

words

00:40:39 --> 00:40:39

that they

00:40:40 --> 00:40:42

they they attributed to say Naysa alayhis

00:40:43 --> 00:40:43

salam. Right? Say,

00:40:46 --> 00:40:48

Allah Allah, why did you leave me behind?

00:40:50 --> 00:40:51

Why did you leave me behind?

00:40:51 --> 00:40:52

Right?

00:40:52 --> 00:40:55

Right? So what? That Jesus is, like, expressing

00:40:55 --> 00:40:57

displeasure with his own

00:40:57 --> 00:40:58

Qadr.

00:41:00 --> 00:41:01

He regrets his own

00:41:02 --> 00:41:05

it doesn't it doesn't like, 7 different ways,

00:41:05 --> 00:41:06

it makes no sense.

00:41:07 --> 00:41:09

But the way that the one way in

00:41:09 --> 00:41:11

particular we want to highlight with regards to

00:41:11 --> 00:41:14

this point of is what? Is nothing happens

00:41:14 --> 00:41:17

against Allah's Allah's will or that, you know,

00:41:17 --> 00:41:19

oh, it happened and Allah was very grieved

00:41:19 --> 00:41:20

by it or, you know,

00:41:21 --> 00:41:23

it kind of took him by surprise or

00:41:23 --> 00:41:24

took him by storm.

00:41:30 --> 00:41:32

He's too exalted that anything should happen in

00:41:32 --> 00:41:35

his dominion that that he doesn't like or

00:41:35 --> 00:41:36

he doesn't allow to happen.

00:41:37 --> 00:41:39

Right? He may not like it in the

00:41:39 --> 00:41:41

sense that he doesn't he he doesn't accept

00:41:41 --> 00:41:44

or he doesn't accept as a standard for

00:41:44 --> 00:41:45

his creation

00:41:45 --> 00:41:47

that they do certain bad things.

00:41:47 --> 00:41:49

But the fact that they did those bad

00:41:49 --> 00:41:51

things, he knew they were gonna do them

00:41:51 --> 00:41:53

and he allowed them to do them so

00:41:53 --> 00:41:55

that they can be a means for them,

00:41:55 --> 00:41:57

for those for those creations to reach a

00:41:57 --> 00:42:00

a destination that they were going to from

00:42:00 --> 00:42:00

before.

00:42:01 --> 00:42:03

This is important why Stuff is gonna happen

00:42:03 --> 00:42:05

in your life, and it's gonna happen in

00:42:05 --> 00:42:06

my life

00:42:06 --> 00:42:07

that we're not happy with.

00:42:08 --> 00:42:10

But we have to constantly remind ourselves, this

00:42:10 --> 00:42:12

is something Allah allowed it to happen.

00:42:13 --> 00:42:14

Allah allowed it to happen,

00:42:15 --> 00:42:16

and there's some reassurance

00:42:17 --> 00:42:19

that should be there for all of us,

00:42:19 --> 00:42:21

that if he allowed it to happen and

00:42:21 --> 00:42:23

if we believe, then there's some benefit in

00:42:23 --> 00:42:25

it for us. There may not even be

00:42:25 --> 00:42:26

benefit in it for the one who it

00:42:26 --> 00:42:27

happened to.

00:42:28 --> 00:42:30

Someone died on Kufr. There may be no

00:42:30 --> 00:42:32

benefit in it for them, but there's benefit

00:42:32 --> 00:42:34

in it for us. Maybe we love that

00:42:34 --> 00:42:35

person,

00:42:35 --> 00:42:36

but we showed patience.

00:42:38 --> 00:42:40

This is very important. This exact thing happened

00:42:40 --> 00:42:41

to the messenger of Allah

00:42:43 --> 00:42:44

It comes in the hadith,

00:42:45 --> 00:42:47

narrated by Imam Hakim

00:42:47 --> 00:42:50

that the day of the Fatha. The Prophet

00:42:50 --> 00:42:51

Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said

00:42:54 --> 00:42:57

He tells the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam he

00:42:57 --> 00:42:59

brings his father to the prophet sallallahu alaihi

00:42:59 --> 00:43:00

wa sallam. His father's name

00:43:01 --> 00:43:02

is Abu Khohafa.

00:43:02 --> 00:43:04

He brings Abu Khohafa to the messenger of

00:43:04 --> 00:43:06

Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. The messenger of

00:43:06 --> 00:43:08

The messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam

00:43:08 --> 00:43:09

says,

00:43:09 --> 00:43:11

Aba Bakr, why did you make this old

00:43:11 --> 00:43:13

man, a sheikh of Quresh, come all the

00:43:13 --> 00:43:14

way to us? If you had told us,

00:43:14 --> 00:43:15

we would have gone to him.

00:43:18 --> 00:43:20

Says no. He needed the the reward for,

00:43:20 --> 00:43:23

the reward for coming to you. His father

00:43:23 --> 00:43:23

was blind,

00:43:24 --> 00:43:26

but he's he's he needed the reward of

00:43:26 --> 00:43:28

going through the difficulty to come to you.

00:43:28 --> 00:43:30

And so he came, and he put the

00:43:30 --> 00:43:31

he took Shahada,

00:43:32 --> 00:43:33

and then he took the oath of allegiance.

00:43:33 --> 00:43:36

He put the 2 hand his the two

00:43:36 --> 00:43:38

hands of his blind old aged father into

00:43:38 --> 00:43:40

the hands of the messenger of Allah

00:43:41 --> 00:43:43

And he and when he was putting his

00:43:43 --> 00:43:44

hands into his hands

00:43:45 --> 00:43:47

to take the bay'at, to take the oath

00:43:47 --> 00:43:49

of allegiance from him, Said Abu

00:43:50 --> 00:43:51

Bakr started to

00:43:51 --> 00:43:52

weep,

00:43:52 --> 00:43:53

and the prophet

00:43:54 --> 00:43:56

asked him, yeah, Abu Bakr, why are you

00:43:56 --> 00:43:56

weeping?

00:43:57 --> 00:43:59

He says, because I would have rather this

00:43:59 --> 00:43:59

day

00:44:00 --> 00:44:01

put the hands of your uncle into your

00:44:01 --> 00:44:02

hands.

00:44:04 --> 00:44:06

He says, why? He says, because I know

00:44:06 --> 00:44:07

that it would have made you happier

00:44:08 --> 00:44:08

than

00:44:09 --> 00:44:11

than than putting these hands into your hands.

00:44:12 --> 00:44:13

And the Prophet

00:44:14 --> 00:44:17

wept also, and he says, you're right.

00:44:17 --> 00:44:19

So this happened, you know, people think that

00:44:19 --> 00:44:20

this is like

00:44:20 --> 00:44:23

a, like unique, but these things happened. They

00:44:23 --> 00:44:25

happened to the messenger of Allah

00:44:25 --> 00:44:27

But look at that. It's a beneficial it's

00:44:27 --> 00:44:29

a benefit for him as well. Why?

00:44:30 --> 00:44:32

Because he shows his to Allah

00:44:33 --> 00:44:35

that, yeah, Allah, whatever you tell whatever you

00:44:35 --> 00:44:38

decree, I'm happy with it. And whatever you,

00:44:39 --> 00:44:41

whatever you decree, I'm happy with it, and

00:44:41 --> 00:44:43

I'm patient with it. And whatever you choose,

00:44:43 --> 00:44:45

I'm happier with what you choose than I

00:44:45 --> 00:44:46

am with what I choose.

00:44:47 --> 00:44:50

There's a statement that's attributed to saying Allah

00:44:51 --> 00:44:53

knows best. But they say that when I

00:44:53 --> 00:44:55

they say that he says when I make

00:44:55 --> 00:44:57

du'a for something and it happens, I become

00:44:57 --> 00:44:58

happier.

00:44:58 --> 00:45:00

And when I make dua for something and

00:45:00 --> 00:45:03

it doesn't have I become happy. And when

00:45:03 --> 00:45:04

I make dua for something and it doesn't

00:45:04 --> 00:45:07

happen, I become happier. Because my du'a is

00:45:07 --> 00:45:09

my choice, and my du'a not happening is

00:45:09 --> 00:45:10

Allah's choice,

00:45:11 --> 00:45:12

right? And it's a it's a means for

00:45:12 --> 00:45:15

a person to grow in rank with Allah

00:45:15 --> 00:45:18

and grow in proximity and closeness to Allah

00:45:18 --> 00:45:20

and grow in their imam. There's and all

00:45:20 --> 00:45:21

of these things.

00:45:22 --> 00:45:24

So that's why we say that that you

00:45:24 --> 00:45:25

we must remind ourselves that

00:45:26 --> 00:45:28

Allah by his very definition of who he

00:45:28 --> 00:45:28

is.

00:45:29 --> 00:45:31

He is he is the one that he

00:45:31 --> 00:45:34

is too exalted and too high that there

00:45:34 --> 00:45:35

could be a situation that happens in the

00:45:35 --> 00:45:36

creation

00:45:36 --> 00:45:38

except for that which he wishes to happen.

00:45:39 --> 00:45:41

And so we remember that that's his choice.

00:45:41 --> 00:45:43

And we see try to see the khair

00:45:43 --> 00:45:44

and the good in it or at least

00:45:44 --> 00:45:46

have patience with it because at least from

00:45:46 --> 00:45:48

a theoretical level, we know that there's good

00:45:48 --> 00:45:50

in it. That also there's a lot of

00:45:50 --> 00:45:52

benefit in it, inshallah, for us.

00:45:52 --> 00:45:53

Well,

00:45:53 --> 00:45:55

I think this is a good place to

00:45:55 --> 00:45:57

stop. Are there any questions?
