I seek refuge with Allah from Satan the

00:00:05 --> 00:00:05

accursed.

00:00:56 --> 00:01:06

In the name

00:01:06 --> 00:01:12

of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.

00:01:24 --> 00:01:35

يَا أَيُّهَا

00:01:35 --> 00:01:45

الْمُزَّمِّنُ قُمِ اللَّيْلَ إِلَّا

00:01:45 --> 00:01:59

قَلِيلًا نِصْرًا نِصْفَهُ

00:01:59 --> 00:02:08

أَوْ نِقْصْ مِنْهُ قَلِيلًا نَوْزِدْ عَلَيْهِ

00:02:08 --> 00:02:16

وَرَتِّلِ الْقُرْآنَ تَرْتِيلًا

00:02:19 --> 00:02:29

إِنَّا سَنُلْقِي عَلَيْكَ قَوْلًا

00:02:29 --> 00:02:38

تَقِيلًا إِنَّ

00:02:38 --> 00:02:46

نَاشِئَةَ اللَّيْلِ هِيَ أَشَدُّ وَطَأً

00:02:46 --> 00:02:55

وَأَقْوَمُ قِيلًا إِنَّ

00:02:55 --> 00:03:04

لَكَ فِي النَّهَارِ سَبْحًا طَوِيلًا

00:03:06 --> 00:03:14

وَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ وَتَبَتَّنِ لَيْهِ

00:03:14 --> 00:03:23

تَبْتِيلًا رَبُّ

00:03:23 --> 00:03:32

الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ لَا إِلَهَ

00:03:32 --> 00:03:45

إِلَّا هُوَ فَاتَّخِذْهُ وَكِيلًا وَاصْبِرْ

00:03:45 --> 00:03:55

عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَهْجُرْ أُمْ هَجَرًا

00:03:55 --> 00:04:04

جَمِيلًا وَذَرْنِي

00:04:04 --> 00:04:11

وَالْمُكَذِّبِينَ أُولِي النَّعْمَةِ

00:04:11 --> 00:04:23

وَمَهِّلْهُمْ قَلِيلًا إِنَّ

00:04:23 --> 00:04:33

لَدَيْنَا أَنْكَالًا وَجَحِيمًا

00:04:33 --> 00:04:41

وَطَعَامًا ذَا غُصَّةٍ وَعَذَابًا

00:04:41 --> 00:04:51

لِيمًا يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ

00:04:51 --> 00:04:59

الْأَرْضُ وَالْجِبَالُ وَكَانَتِ الْجِبَالُ

00:04:59 --> 00:05:04

كَثِيبًا مَهِيلًا

00:05:07 --> 00:05:14

إِنَّا

00:05:14 --> 00:05:23

أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْكُمْ رَسُولًا

00:05:23 --> 00:05:28

شَاهِدًا عَلَيْكُمْ

00:05:30 --> 00:05:39

إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا

00:05:39 --> 00:05:48

إِلَيْكُمْ رَسُولًا شَاهِدًا عَلَيْكُمْ

00:05:48 --> 00:05:56

كَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ

00:05:56 --> 00:06:06

رَسُولًا فَعَصَى فِرْعَوْنُ

00:06:06 --> 00:06:16

الرَّسُولَ فَأَخَذْنَاهُ أَخْذًا وَبِيلًا

00:06:21 --> 00:06:29

فَكَيْفَ تَتَّقُونَ إِنْ كَفَرْتُمْ

00:06:29 --> 00:06:37

يَوْمًا يَجْعَلُ الْوِلْدَانَ شِيبًا

00:06:40 --> 00:06:50

السَّمَاءُ مُنْفَطِرٌ

00:06:50 --> 00:06:57

بِهِ كَانَ وَعَدُهُ مَفْعُولًا

00:07:01 --> 00:07:08

إِنَّ هَذِهِ تَذْكِرَهُ

00:07:10 --> 00:07:20

فَمَنْ شَاءَ اتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ

00:07:20 --> 00:07:30

رَبِّهِ سَبِيلًا إِنَّ

00:07:30 --> 00:07:39

رَبَّكَ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَقُومُ أَدْنَى

00:07:39 --> 00:07:49

مِنْ ثُلُثَيِ اللَّيْلِ وَنِصْفِي وَثُلُثِي

00:07:49 --> 00:07:58

وَطَائِفَةٍ وَطَائِفَةٌ

00:07:58 --> 00:08:08

مِنَ الَّذِينَ مَعَكِ وَاللَّهُ

00:08:08 --> 00:08:21

يُقَدِّرُ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَا عَلِمَ

00:08:21 --> 00:08:29

أَنْ لَا تُحْصُوهُ فَتَابَ عَلَيْكُمْ

00:08:29 --> 00:08:39

فَقَرَأُوا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ

00:08:39 --> 00:08:44

الْقُرْآنِ

00:08:44 --> 00:08:52

عَلِمَ أَنْ سَيَكُونُ

00:08:52 --> 00:09:00

مِنْكُمْ مَرْضَى وَآخَرُونَ

00:09:00 --> 00:09:10

يَضْطَرِبُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ يَبْتَغُونَ مِنْ فَضْلِ

00:09:10 --> 00:09:19

اللَّهِ وَآخَرُونَ

00:09:19 --> 00:09:27

يُقَاتِنُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ

00:09:31 --> 00:09:39

فَقَرَأُوا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنْهِ

00:09:40 --> 00:09:49

وَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتُوا

00:09:49 --> 00:09:58

الزَّكَاةَ وَأَقَرِضُوا اللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا

00:10:00 --> 00:10:06

وَمَا تُقَدِّمُوا

00:10:06 --> 00:10:15

لِأَنفُسِكُمْ مِنْ خَيْرٍ تَجِدُوا

00:10:15 --> 00:10:26

عِندَ اللَّهِ هُوَ خَيْرًا هُوَ

00:10:26 --> 00:10:33

خَيْرًا وَأَعْظَمَ أَجْرًا

00:10:33 --> 00:10:38

وَاسْتَغْفِرُوا

00:10:38 --> 00:10:47

اللَّهَ

00:10:49 --> 00:10:58

إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ

00:10:58 --> 00:11:07

صدق الله العظيم There

00:11:07 --> 00:11:10

has come to you a messenger from among

00:11:10 --> 00:11:10

yourselves.

00:11:11 --> 00:11:13

It weighs heavily on him that you be

00:11:13 --> 00:11:13

ruined.

00:11:14 --> 00:11:18

He is anxious for you, compassionate and merciful

00:11:18 --> 00:11:19

to the believers.

00:11:20 --> 00:11:22

But if they turn away, then say, God

00:11:22 --> 00:11:24

is sufficient for me.

00:11:24 --> 00:11:26

There is no other deity.

00:11:27 --> 00:11:29

It is in God that I put my

00:11:29 --> 00:11:32

trust, as Lord of the lofty throne.

00:11:33 --> 00:11:36

In the name of God, the Benevolent, the

00:11:36 --> 00:11:37

Merciful.

00:11:38 --> 00:11:42

You, wrapping yourself, stand through the night, except

00:11:42 --> 00:11:46

a little, half or a little less, or

00:11:46 --> 00:11:50

more, and chant the Quran rhythmically, for we

00:11:50 --> 00:11:52

will send you a weighty word.

00:11:54 --> 00:11:57

Indeed, rising by night is most intense as

00:11:57 --> 00:12:03

a discipline and most appropriate for receptivity to

00:12:03 --> 00:12:04

the word.

00:12:05 --> 00:12:07

You do have a long course during the

00:12:07 --> 00:12:11

day, yet remember the name of God and

00:12:11 --> 00:12:14

devote yourself wholly to God.

00:12:15 --> 00:12:19

Lord of the East and the West, there

00:12:19 --> 00:12:22

is no other deity, so take God as

00:12:22 --> 00:12:26

a guardian and endure what they say patiently

00:12:26 --> 00:12:30

and remain aloof from them with the graceful

00:12:30 --> 00:12:35

detachment and leave me to the scoffers who

00:12:35 --> 00:12:38

have comfort and convenience and give them a

00:12:38 --> 00:12:38

little time.

00:12:39 --> 00:12:42

For we have fetters and fire and choking

00:12:42 --> 00:12:45

foods and the painful punishment.

00:12:47 --> 00:12:50

The day the earth quakes and the mountains

00:12:50 --> 00:12:55

too, with the mountains turning to disintegrating dunes,

00:12:55 --> 00:13:00

we have sent you a messenger as a

00:13:00 --> 00:13:03

witness regarding you and we sent a messenger

00:13:03 --> 00:13:04

to Pharaoh.

00:13:05 --> 00:13:09

Pharaoh defied the messenger, so we punished him

00:13:09 --> 00:13:09

severely.

00:13:10 --> 00:13:13

So how will you be worried if you

00:13:13 --> 00:13:16

scoff of a day that will make children

00:13:16 --> 00:13:19

grey and the sky split apart?

00:13:20 --> 00:13:23

That promise will inevitably be fulfilled.

00:13:23 --> 00:13:25

This is a reminder.

00:13:25 --> 00:13:29

Let whoever will take a path to his

00:13:29 --> 00:13:29

Lord.

00:13:31 --> 00:13:33

Your Lord does know that you stand in

00:13:33 --> 00:13:37

vigil nearly two-thirds of the night or

00:13:37 --> 00:13:38

half or a third.

00:13:39 --> 00:13:41

And so does a group of those with

00:13:41 --> 00:13:45

you and God regulates the night and the

00:13:45 --> 00:13:49

day, knowing you won't calculate it, thus letting

00:13:49 --> 00:13:50

up on you.

00:13:50 --> 00:13:53

So read as much as is easy from

00:13:53 --> 00:13:53

the Quran.

00:13:54 --> 00:13:57

God knows there will be those among you

00:13:57 --> 00:14:00

who are sick and others traveling the land,

00:14:01 --> 00:14:05

seeking the bounty of God, and others fighting

00:14:05 --> 00:14:06

for the sake of God.

00:14:07 --> 00:14:09

So read as much of it as is

00:14:09 --> 00:14:10

easy.

00:14:11 --> 00:14:15

And pray regularly and give alms, lending a

00:14:15 --> 00:14:16

good loan to God.

00:14:17 --> 00:14:20

For whatever good you advance for the sake

00:14:20 --> 00:14:22

of your souls, you will find it with

00:14:22 --> 00:14:26

God, who is best and greatest in recompense.

00:14:27 --> 00:14:31

And seek forgiveness from God, for God is

00:14:31 --> 00:14:34

the epitome of forgiveness and mercy.

00:14:35 --> 00:14:36

Jazakallah Khayran.

00:14:37 --> 00:14:40

Inshallah we'll continue with our next segment of

00:14:40 --> 00:14:42

the program, which is Dr. Bufaris, who is

00:14:42 --> 00:14:45

one of our teachers here at the Zaytunah

00:14:45 --> 00:14:48

College, an incredible man of knowledge, akhlaq, and

00:14:48 --> 00:14:49

wisdom.

00:14:50 --> 00:14:52

Ever since he has come to the campus,

00:14:53 --> 00:14:56

it's been really, he has changed the campus

00:14:56 --> 00:15:01

by being our imam who calls a prayer

00:15:01 --> 00:15:03

and leads us in prayer every day, five

00:15:03 --> 00:15:05

times a day, when he is here not

00:15:05 --> 00:15:05

traveling.

00:15:06 --> 00:15:09

And mashallah, his family is here.

00:15:09 --> 00:15:10

They live next to Zaytunah.

00:15:11 --> 00:15:13

And what a blessing to have him.

00:15:13 --> 00:15:15

Whatever question we have about, if you have

00:15:15 --> 00:15:18

a question about aqidah or fiqh or philosophy,

00:15:18 --> 00:15:20

whatever you have, you can go to him,

00:15:20 --> 00:15:23

and he is kind enough to sit and

00:15:23 --> 00:15:23

answer.

00:15:24 --> 00:15:26

I asked him a question about maliki fiqh

00:15:26 --> 00:15:29

on the jama'a prayer.

00:15:29 --> 00:15:31

He sat me down, and he went through

00:15:31 --> 00:15:31

that.

00:15:32 --> 00:15:34

I mean, it was so beautiful that I

00:15:34 --> 00:15:35

got a really incredible lesson.

00:15:35 --> 00:15:37

I shared it with all my maliki friends,

00:15:37 --> 00:15:38

which I can't use any of those, I'm

00:15:38 --> 00:15:39

Hanafi, so.

00:15:40 --> 00:15:41

I think he wanted to convert me, but

00:15:41 --> 00:15:42

it didn't work.

00:15:42 --> 00:15:43

But alhamdulillah, no.

00:15:43 --> 00:15:45

I love this man, this beautiful man.

00:15:45 --> 00:15:46

And he was going to a class, and

00:15:46 --> 00:15:48

true story, I said, what class are you

00:15:48 --> 00:15:48

teaching?

00:15:48 --> 00:15:49

He said, this.

00:15:49 --> 00:15:50

I said, where's the text?

00:15:50 --> 00:15:52

He said, I haven't memorized the text.

00:15:52 --> 00:15:54

So this is the caliber of teachers that

00:15:54 --> 00:15:56

we have here at Zaytunah College, and we're

00:15:56 --> 00:15:57

blessed to have him.

00:15:58 --> 00:16:01

So inshallah, he will join us in a

00:16:01 --> 00:16:02

few minutes in the next segment.

00:16:03 --> 00:16:05

But before that, we're going to do Dr.

00:16:05 --> 00:16:08

Asa Tarsin, who is part of Zaytunah College,

00:16:08 --> 00:16:10

but everybody knows him in the community.

00:16:10 --> 00:16:11

He was with us for 10 years.

00:16:12 --> 00:16:13

Now he moved back to Michigan, and he

00:16:13 --> 00:16:16

wrote the incredible book called Being Muslim, which

00:16:16 --> 00:16:18

is really a guideline for not just the

00:16:18 --> 00:16:20

converts, but also people who come back to

00:16:20 --> 00:16:22

Islam and want to learn their religion.

00:16:23 --> 00:16:25

He is here with us, and he's going

00:16:25 --> 00:16:29

to read a couple of hadith from Shemail

00:16:29 --> 00:16:33

of Imam Tirmidhi, inshallah, in Arabic and English.

00:16:34 --> 00:16:37

So Dr. Bufaris will read the Arabic, and

00:16:37 --> 00:16:40

Dr. Asa will read the English translation.

00:16:40 --> 00:16:46

And after that, you will read the birth

00:16:46 --> 00:16:48

of the Prophet ﷺ from the Hamziah of

00:16:48 --> 00:16:49

Imam Busiri.

00:16:49 --> 00:16:52

This is from the new translation that's forthcoming

00:16:52 --> 00:16:56

translation of the Hamziah that Shaykh Hamza has

00:16:56 --> 00:16:58

been working on for about 10 years, alhamdulillah.

00:16:58 --> 00:17:00

It's coming in this month of Rabiul Awal.

00:17:00 --> 00:17:01

We are hoping that it will go to

00:17:01 --> 00:17:04

print for the barakah of this month, and

00:17:04 --> 00:17:05

it should be available soon.

00:17:06 --> 00:17:08

So they will read a section on the

00:17:08 --> 00:17:11

birth of the Prophet ﷺ from the Hamziah

00:17:11 --> 00:17:12

of Imam Busiri as well.

00:17:12 --> 00:17:15

So if you can come, inshallah.

00:17:31 --> 00:17:33

It's a blessing to be gathered here today.

00:17:33 --> 00:17:35

So inshallah, we are going to read two

00:17:35 --> 00:17:39

hadiths from the famous collection, the Shemail of

00:17:39 --> 00:17:41

Imam Tirmidhi, rahimahullah.

00:17:42 --> 00:17:44

This will be one hadith that will talk

00:17:44 --> 00:17:48

about the khalq of the Prophet ﷺ, his

00:17:48 --> 00:17:51

physical description, and a second hadith about his

00:17:51 --> 00:17:55

blessed khuluq ﷺ, his noble character.

00:18:06 --> 00:18:09

Imam Abu Isa Muhammad bin Isa bin Sawrah

00:18:09 --> 00:18:12

bin al-Dahhaq al-Sulami al-Tirmidhi, who

00:18:12 --> 00:18:19

passed away in 279 AH in his book,

00:18:19 --> 00:18:20

the Shemail of Imam Tirmidhi.

00:18:20 --> 00:18:23

Hadiths

00:18:23 --> 00:18:42

from

00:18:42 --> 00:18:50

the Shemail of Imam Tirmidhi.

00:18:59 --> 00:19:01

Hadiths from the Shemail of Imam Tirmidhi.

00:19:02 --> 00:19:06

When our Master Ali ﷺ described the Messenger

00:19:06 --> 00:19:11

of Allah ﷺ, he would say, The Messenger

00:19:11 --> 00:19:16

of Allah ﷺ was neither extremely tall nor

00:19:16 --> 00:19:17

extremely short.

00:19:17 --> 00:19:21

He was of medium stature among his people.

00:19:27 --> 00:19:32

His hair was neither extremely curly nor straight.

00:19:32 --> 00:19:35

Rather, it was slightly wavy.

00:19:40 --> 00:19:43

He was not corpulent.

00:19:43 --> 00:19:47

His blessed face was not completely circular, but

00:19:47 --> 00:19:48

it had a slight roundness.

00:19:56 --> 00:19:59

His complexion was fair and imbued with a

00:19:59 --> 00:20:00

bit of redness.

00:20:00 --> 00:20:03

His eyes were very black and his eyelashes

00:20:03 --> 00:20:04

were very long.

00:20:16 --> 00:20:19

His joints were large and his shoulders were

00:20:19 --> 00:20:19

broad.

00:20:20 --> 00:20:23

He was not hirsut, meaning his body was

00:20:23 --> 00:20:23

not hairy.

00:20:24 --> 00:20:26

But a thin line of hair ran from

00:20:26 --> 00:20:28

his blessed chest to the navel.

00:20:28 --> 00:20:31

And his blessed hands and feet were full

00:20:31 --> 00:20:32

-fleshed and sturdy.

00:20:41 --> 00:20:48

When he walked, he walked with vigour, as

00:20:48 --> 00:20:49

if descending a height.

00:20:49 --> 00:20:51

And when he would turn to look at

00:20:51 --> 00:20:54

someone or something, he would turn with his

00:20:54 --> 00:20:55

whole body.

00:21:02 --> 00:21:05

Between his blessed shoulders was the seal of

00:21:05 --> 00:21:07

prophethood, and he is the seal of prophethood.

00:21:07 --> 00:21:09

He is the seal of the prophets.

00:21:20 --> 00:21:23

His blessed heart was the soundest and most

00:21:23 --> 00:21:24

generous of hearts.

00:21:25 --> 00:21:27

His speech is the most truthful of speech.

00:21:28 --> 00:21:30

And he is the gentlest of all people

00:21:30 --> 00:21:32

in nature, and the noblest of them in

00:21:32 --> 00:21:35

social interactions and companionship.

00:21:53 --> 00:21:57

Whoever saw him unexpectedly would be awestruck.

00:21:57 --> 00:22:00

Whoever interacted with him and came to know

00:22:00 --> 00:22:01

him would love him.

00:22:02 --> 00:22:04

Anyone who would describe him would say, I

00:22:04 --> 00:22:07

never saw before him nor after him.

00:22:07 --> 00:22:07

And he would say, I never saw before

00:22:07 --> 00:22:07

him nor after him.

00:22:07 --> 00:22:10

anything like him, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.

00:22:53 --> 00:22:58

Hasan Ibn Ali, radiallahu anhu, reported, I asked

00:22:58 --> 00:23:00

my father about the conduct of the Prophet,

00:23:00 --> 00:23:03

sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, towards those in his

00:23:03 --> 00:23:04

gatherings.

00:23:04 --> 00:23:07

And he said, the Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa

00:23:07 --> 00:23:10

sallam, always had a cheerful countenance.

00:23:10 --> 00:23:13

He had an easygoing character, and a soft,

00:23:13 --> 00:23:14

affable disposition.

00:23:15 --> 00:23:18

He was neither harsh, nor coarse, nor boisterous,

00:23:19 --> 00:23:20

nor lewd in behavior.

00:23:20 --> 00:23:23

Nor was he a fault finder, nor unyielding.

00:23:35 --> 00:23:38

He would overlook things he disliked.

00:23:38 --> 00:23:40

It would not cause others who desired them

00:23:40 --> 00:23:41

to despair of them.

00:23:42 --> 00:23:44

He simply avoided partaking of them.

00:23:51 --> 00:23:58

He, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, forsook three things

00:23:58 --> 00:24:03

for himself, disputation, excessiveness, and matters that did

00:24:03 --> 00:24:04

not concern him.

00:24:19 --> 00:24:22

He also forsook three things with respect to

00:24:22 --> 00:24:22

people.

00:24:23 --> 00:24:25

He would not disgrace anyone.

00:24:25 --> 00:24:27

He would not find fault with anyone.

00:24:27 --> 00:24:30

He would not pry into the affairs of

00:24:30 --> 00:24:31

others.

00:24:31 --> 00:24:34

He would not speak except regarding things for

00:24:34 --> 00:24:36

which he hoped in a reward from Allah.

00:24:49 --> 00:24:52

When he would speak, those sitting in his

00:24:52 --> 00:24:55

company would lower their heads and be so

00:24:55 --> 00:24:57

still it was as if birds had perched

00:24:57 --> 00:24:58

atop their heads.

00:24:59 --> 00:25:02

Only after he would stop talking would they

00:25:02 --> 00:25:02

speak.

00:25:12 --> 00:25:15

They would not dispute with one another when

00:25:15 --> 00:25:16

they would converse in his presence.

00:25:17 --> 00:25:20

Rather, they would listen attentively to anyone who

00:25:20 --> 00:25:23

spoke in his presence until that person was

00:25:23 --> 00:25:23

finished.

00:25:34 --> 00:25:36

The first of them to speak to the

00:25:36 --> 00:25:39

Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, would be the

00:25:39 --> 00:25:40

first of them to enter.

00:25:41 --> 00:25:42

He would laugh at what they would laugh

00:25:42 --> 00:25:45

at, and he would express amazement at what

00:25:45 --> 00:25:47

they would express amazement at.

00:26:03 --> 00:26:06

He would be patient with the crude speech

00:26:06 --> 00:26:10

and requests of strangers, and so it was

00:26:10 --> 00:26:12

that his companions would usher them to the

00:26:12 --> 00:26:13

Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.

00:26:13 --> 00:26:16

And he would say, if you see a

00:26:16 --> 00:26:19

person seeking the fulfillment of a need, then

00:26:19 --> 00:26:20

help him.

00:26:34 --> 00:26:38

He would not accept praise except from one

00:26:38 --> 00:26:40

who was responding to a favor given.

00:26:41 --> 00:26:43

He would not interrupt a person while he

00:26:43 --> 00:26:45

was speaking unless the person went too far,

00:26:45 --> 00:26:48

in which case he would stop him either

00:26:48 --> 00:26:51

by prohibiting the person or getting up to

00:26:51 --> 00:26:51

leave.

00:26:56 --> 00:26:59

Now we are going to read some lines

00:26:59 --> 00:27:02

from the Hamziyah of Imam al-Busiri.

00:27:02 --> 00:27:05

This is from Sheikh Hamza's forthcoming translation.

00:27:05 --> 00:27:08

We're going to read the opening four lines

00:27:08 --> 00:27:11

and the section on the blessed birth of

00:27:11 --> 00:27:13

the Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.

00:28:01 --> 00:28:01

We're going to read the opening four lines

00:28:01 --> 00:28:04

and the section on the blessed birth of

00:28:04 --> 00:28:05

the Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.

00:28:09 --> 00:28:12

How could other prophets ascend to your heights,

00:28:13 --> 00:28:16

O Empyrean, whose canopy no sky could surpass?

00:28:17 --> 00:28:20

They could never reach your elevated stature, your

00:28:20 --> 00:28:22

splendor and glory tower over them.

00:28:22 --> 00:28:25

They reflect your qualities to all of humanity,

00:28:26 --> 00:28:29

the way water mirrors the firmament stars.

00:28:29 --> 00:28:32

You are that lamplight of every virtue.

00:28:32 --> 00:28:35

All other lights emanate from your light.

00:29:08 --> 00:29:11

All other lights emanate from your light.

00:29:18 --> 00:29:21

And you came forth from one ascendant noble

00:29:21 --> 00:29:25

after another, you whose fathers were all noble,

00:29:25 --> 00:29:28

a lineage due to its ornaments, the height

00:29:28 --> 00:29:32

reckoned Gemini had bestowed stars upon it, a

00:29:32 --> 00:29:34

necklace of distinction and destined glory.

00:29:34 --> 00:29:38

And you, you are its unique sacrosanct jewel,

00:29:38 --> 00:29:41

a face like the brilliant sun shines forth

00:29:41 --> 00:29:44

from you, revealed by a birth night filled

00:29:44 --> 00:29:45

with white light.

00:30:25 --> 00:30:30

Your birth night brought about religion's joy, followed

00:30:30 --> 00:30:32

by a day pulsing with pride filled glory,

00:30:33 --> 00:30:37

glad tidings of unseen voices, one after another.

00:30:37 --> 00:30:39

The chosen one arrived today.

00:30:39 --> 00:30:40

Joy is justified.

00:30:41 --> 00:30:44

The colonnades of Khosrow collapsed, if not for

00:30:44 --> 00:30:47

a prodigy from you, they might still be

00:30:47 --> 00:30:47

standing.

00:30:48 --> 00:30:51

Every fire temple now wrecked and ruined, desolate

00:30:51 --> 00:30:54

due to a doused and extinguished fire.

00:31:29 --> 00:31:32

Persian well springs sunk low and dried up.

00:31:33 --> 00:31:35

Did their waters waylay their temple fires?

00:31:36 --> 00:31:40

For atheism, his birth brought baleful prospects, an

00:31:40 --> 00:31:42

awful outcome and a blight to its people.

00:31:43 --> 00:31:46

What jubilee and joy he earned for Amina.

00:31:46 --> 00:31:49

An equal honor bestowed upon Eve before her.

00:31:50 --> 00:31:52

While honored, it was not Eve's to conceive

00:31:52 --> 00:31:55

Ahmed or reap the reward of his birth's

00:31:55 --> 00:31:56

postpartum period.

00:32:33 --> 00:32:37

That day Wahab's daughter achieved by birthing him

00:32:37 --> 00:32:41

a glory and pride never garnered by prior

00:32:41 --> 00:32:41

women.

00:32:41 --> 00:32:45

She brought her nation a nativity more grace

00:32:45 --> 00:32:47

filled than what the Virgin Mary before her

00:32:47 --> 00:32:47

had born.

00:32:48 --> 00:32:50

The angels blessed him as he came into

00:32:50 --> 00:32:54

the world and Shafaa overjoyed us by telling

00:32:54 --> 00:32:54

of it later.

00:32:55 --> 00:32:57

Born with the crown of his head, heaven

00:32:57 --> 00:32:57

bent.

00:32:58 --> 00:33:01

And in that elevation, what portent of purpose?

00:33:03 --> 00:33:08

Ramikantarfuhu al-samaa wa marmaa, ayni man sha

00:33:08 --> 00:33:13

'nuhu al-uluu al-alaa'u, wa tadallat

00:33:13 --> 00:33:17

zuhru al-nujuumi ilayhi, fa adaa'at bi

00:33:17 --> 00:33:21

daw'iha al-arjaa'u, wa tara'at

00:33:21 --> 00:33:27

qusooru qaysara bilroomi, yaraaha man daruhu al-bathaa

00:33:27 --> 00:33:30

'u, sallallahu alayhi wa sallama tasleema.

00:33:31 --> 00:33:34

His gaze set upon the heights of heaven,

00:33:35 --> 00:33:37

the apple of the eye of one whose

00:33:37 --> 00:33:38

object is heaven's heights.

00:33:39 --> 00:33:42

Lustrous and radiant stars drew down toward him,

00:33:42 --> 00:33:45

and by their bright lights, lands turned luminous.

00:33:46 --> 00:33:49

Caesar's palaces in Byzantium were in plain sight.

00:33:49 --> 00:33:52

She whose house in the hollow lies espied

00:33:52 --> 00:33:55

them, sallallahu alayhi wa sallama tasleema.

00:33:56 --> 00:34:01

Allahumma salli ala Sayyidina Muhammadin al-Fatihi lima

00:34:01 --> 00:34:04

ughriqa wal-khatimin lima sabaqa nasiri l-haqi

00:34:04 --> 00:34:08

bil-haqi wal-hadi ila siratika al-mustaqi

00:34:08 --> 00:34:16

wa ala alihi haqqa qadrihi wa miqdarihi al-'azim.

00:34:17 --> 00:34:22

Subhana rabbika rabbil-izzati amma yasifun, wa salamun

00:34:22 --> 00:34:24

ala al-mursaleen.

00:34:25 --> 00:34:29

Walhamdulillahi rabbil-alameen.

00:34:30 --> 00:34:34

Jazakallah khairan, Dr. Bufaris and Dr. Asad Tarsin.

00:34:35 --> 00:34:38

You can feel the just the tranquility of

00:34:38 --> 00:34:41

reading the Shema'il and his incredible books.

00:34:42 --> 00:34:43

Sheikh Hamza.

00:34:44 --> 00:34:45

Bismillah rahman rahim.

00:34:47 --> 00:34:49

Wa sallallahu ala Sayyidina Muhammad wa ala alihi

00:34:49 --> 00:34:51

wa sahbihi wa salam tasleeman kathira.

00:34:52 --> 00:34:55

Wa la hawla wa la quwata illa billahil

00:34:55 --> 00:34:55

aliyyil azeem.

00:34:56 --> 00:34:59

Allahumma salli wa salam ala Sayyidina Muhammad tabri

00:34:59 --> 00:35:02

qulubi wa dawaiha wa aafi at-tarabdani wa

00:35:02 --> 00:35:04

shifa'iha wa nur al-absari wa dhiya

00:35:04 --> 00:35:08

'iha wa qutri arwahi wa ghidaiha wa ala

00:35:08 --> 00:35:10

alihi wa sahbihi wa salam tasleeman kathira.

00:35:11 --> 00:35:13

Allahumma sharah lana sudurana.

00:35:14 --> 00:35:17

Allahumma iftah alayna futuh al-arifin wa ufiqna

00:35:17 --> 00:35:19

tawfiq al-saliheen.

00:35:20 --> 00:35:24

Allahumma ja'alna mardiyan anda Rasulillahi sallallahu alayhi

00:35:24 --> 00:35:26

wa sallam yawm al-qiyamah wa ja'alahu

00:35:26 --> 00:35:30

akhidun bi aydina wa ja'alhu saqiyan lana

00:35:30 --> 00:35:33

min hawdihi sharif ya rahman rahimin.

00:35:34 --> 00:35:37

wa taqadiru ala dharika la ilaha illa anta

00:35:37 --> 00:35:38

subhanak.

00:35:38 --> 00:35:39

Alhamdulillah.

00:35:39 --> 00:35:40

Alhamdulillah.

00:35:40 --> 00:35:44

Masha'Allah, what a blessed gathering to come

00:35:44 --> 00:35:49

together to remember the beloved Sallallahu alayhi wa

00:35:49 --> 00:35:50

sallam.

00:35:51 --> 00:35:55

The Sahaba were sitting once and talking about

00:35:55 --> 00:35:56

the different prophets.

00:35:57 --> 00:36:02

Ibrahim was Khalilullah and Isa was Ruhullah.

00:36:02 --> 00:36:03

Musa was Karimullah.

00:36:03 --> 00:36:04

Isa was Ruhullah.

00:36:04 --> 00:36:08

And the Prophet heard them and he said

00:36:08 --> 00:36:12

that he was Habibullah, but he was also

00:36:12 --> 00:36:15

Khalilullah and he was also Ruhullah.

00:36:15 --> 00:36:17

He had all of the qualities of all

00:36:17 --> 00:36:22

of the prophets were all drawing from his

00:36:22 --> 00:36:23

light.

00:36:24 --> 00:36:27

We were so fortunate to be in his

00:36:27 --> 00:36:31

ummah and these are hard times, undeniably, and

00:36:31 --> 00:36:33

they have been for quite some time.

00:36:33 --> 00:36:37

And it's, you know, if we had to

00:36:37 --> 00:36:41

have one diagnosis, it's really the sins of

00:36:41 --> 00:36:43

our community, the ummah.

00:36:44 --> 00:36:45

We're a sick ummah.

00:36:46 --> 00:36:47

We're not well.

00:36:47 --> 00:36:48

We haven't been well for a long time.

00:36:49 --> 00:36:52

And like the body, as you get older,

00:36:53 --> 00:36:54

you get sicker.

00:36:54 --> 00:36:57

And so when they were young, when the

00:36:57 --> 00:36:59

ummah was young, it was full of health

00:36:59 --> 00:36:59

and vigor.

00:37:00 --> 00:37:03

But the Prophet told us that towards these

00:37:03 --> 00:37:06

latter days, we would be weak.

00:37:07 --> 00:37:09

He said we would be like froth.

00:37:09 --> 00:37:12

Many, many things he told us about these

00:37:12 --> 00:37:12

times.

00:37:13 --> 00:37:16

He told us that the other nations would

00:37:16 --> 00:37:20

come and eat from you like they ate

00:37:20 --> 00:37:22

from a plate of food.

00:37:23 --> 00:37:24

It's an amazing image.

00:37:25 --> 00:37:28

Uh, such an image that even during the

00:37:28 --> 00:37:31

colonial grab for the Muslim land, some of

00:37:31 --> 00:37:36

the European cartoonists actually showed people around Turkey

00:37:36 --> 00:37:39

and they made Turkey like a turkey and

00:37:39 --> 00:37:41

all the European powers were about to devour

00:37:41 --> 00:37:41

it.

00:37:41 --> 00:37:44

They didn't know the Hadith, but the image

00:37:44 --> 00:37:47

was there.

00:37:47 --> 00:37:51

So the Prophet, what he saw is amazing.

00:37:51 --> 00:37:55

And he is, it's grievous.

00:37:55 --> 00:37:59

You know, he has for, for, uh, the

00:37:59 --> 00:38:01

conditions of the ummah and in, in a,

00:38:01 --> 00:38:05

as a sound narration that, uh, has a

00:38:05 --> 00:38:06

nice commentary on it.

00:38:06 --> 00:38:12

He said, that the Prophet has shown the

00:38:12 --> 00:38:12

actions of his ummah.

00:38:12 --> 00:38:15

There's a khilaf about whether it's all, every

00:38:15 --> 00:38:20

individual or whether it's, uh, the general condition

00:38:20 --> 00:38:20

of the ummah.

00:38:21 --> 00:38:23

But many of them say he sees the

00:38:23 --> 00:38:27

conditions of the people, um, individually also.

00:38:27 --> 00:38:29

And people could say, how's that possible on

00:38:29 --> 00:38:29

him?

00:38:29 --> 00:38:33

We have supercomputers now that are monitoring all

00:38:33 --> 00:38:34

of us.

00:38:34 --> 00:38:37

They monitor our phone conversations.

00:38:37 --> 00:38:40

There's apparently some giant mainframe in New Zealand.

00:38:40 --> 00:38:42

So this is a machine made by men.

00:38:43 --> 00:38:45

And the Ruh of the Prophet ﷺ made

00:38:45 --> 00:38:48

by the creator of men can't make his,

00:38:48 --> 00:38:55

uh, supercomputer ability to see people's actions.

00:38:57 --> 00:38:59

The Prophet ﷺ is not God.

00:38:59 --> 00:39:01

And we don't, uh, do, we don't make

00:39:01 --> 00:39:02

the mistakes of the Christians.

00:39:03 --> 00:39:05

He said, لا تطروني كما أطرت النصارى عيسى

00:39:05 --> 00:39:06

ابن مريم.

00:39:06 --> 00:39:10

لكن قولوا عبدالله ورسوله, don't make, don't praise

00:39:10 --> 00:39:11

me like the Christians praise Jesus.

00:39:11 --> 00:39:12

Don't go to an extreme.

00:39:12 --> 00:39:16

The Prophets, uh, all warn their people of

00:39:16 --> 00:39:16

this.

00:39:17 --> 00:39:19

And our community has never done that.

00:39:20 --> 00:39:21

They've never done that.

00:39:21 --> 00:39:21

It's amazing.

00:39:22 --> 00:39:24

One of the most, I think one of

00:39:24 --> 00:39:28

the greatest miracles of, uh, of the Prophet

00:39:28 --> 00:39:31

ﷺ is that there's actually a community of

00:39:31 --> 00:39:33

people that split from the Muslims that worship

00:39:33 --> 00:39:34

Ali.

00:39:39 --> 00:39:42

Because there's nobody that worshiped the Prophet ﷺ.

00:39:42 --> 00:39:45

Because the Prophet made a dua, لا تجعلني

00:39:45 --> 00:39:47

وثنًا من بعد يوم.

00:39:47 --> 00:39:49

But don't make me an idol that's worshiped.

00:39:49 --> 00:39:52

So there's people that worship Ali, but they

00:39:52 --> 00:39:53

don't worship the Prophet.

00:39:54 --> 00:39:56

If you don't see the miracle in that,

00:39:57 --> 00:40:01

because Ali is a drop from the ocean

00:40:01 --> 00:40:03

of the Prophet, and he's a great drop,

00:40:03 --> 00:40:05

one of the greatest, but, but he's a

00:40:05 --> 00:40:07

drop from the ocean of the Messenger of

00:40:07 --> 00:40:08

Allah ﷺ.

00:40:11 --> 00:40:15

So, uh, what can we say about the

00:40:15 --> 00:40:15

Prophet ﷺ?

00:40:16 --> 00:40:20

We, we can say that he's the best

00:40:20 --> 00:40:21

of creation.

00:40:22 --> 00:40:27

Sayyidina Ali, uh, who was given hikmah, the

00:40:27 --> 00:40:31

Prophet ﷺ was close to him since the

00:40:31 --> 00:40:32

time he was a child.

00:40:32 --> 00:40:33

He took him in.

00:40:33 --> 00:40:34

He's taking care of him.

00:40:34 --> 00:40:34

He saw the Prophet.

00:40:34 --> 00:40:36

He knew the Prophet intimately.

00:40:38 --> 00:40:42

And so, one day, a Jewish man came

00:40:42 --> 00:40:47

to Abu Bakr, and he said, I heard

00:40:47 --> 00:40:51

in your book that Allah says, وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَى

00:40:51 --> 00:40:57

خُلَقًا عَظِيمًۭ Surely you're on this vast ethos,

00:40:57 --> 00:41:00

this vast ethical condition.

00:41:00 --> 00:41:05

He said swiftly, describe his character.

00:41:05 --> 00:41:06

What was he like?

00:41:08 --> 00:41:13

And Abu Bakr, being Abu Bakr, he said,

00:41:13 --> 00:41:14

go ask Omar.

00:41:16 --> 00:41:19

We have very few hadith from Abu Bakr.

00:41:20 --> 00:41:23

It's a great loss, but Abu Bakr was

00:41:23 --> 00:41:25

who he was.

00:41:25 --> 00:41:28

You know, he, he, he had a great

00:41:28 --> 00:41:28

maqam.

00:41:29 --> 00:41:32

But, uh, this, this was Abu Bakr.

00:41:32 --> 00:41:33

He said, go ask Omar.

00:41:34 --> 00:41:36

So the Jew went to Omar and he

00:41:36 --> 00:41:43

said, I read in the Qur'an, وَإِنَّكَ

00:41:43 --> 00:41:49

لَعَلَى خُلَقًا عَظِيمًۭ swiftly, خُلَقَهُ ﷺ And Omar,

00:41:50 --> 00:41:53

being from the same madrasa as Abu Bakr,

00:41:53 --> 00:41:54

he said, go ask Uthman.

00:41:54 --> 00:42:00

And so he went to Uthman, Ibn Affan,

00:42:01 --> 00:42:06

رضي الله عنه Being from the same madrasa

00:42:06 --> 00:42:08

as those two, he said, go ask Ali,

00:42:09 --> 00:42:10

Ibn Abi Talib.

00:42:10 --> 00:42:12

So he went to Ali.

00:42:13 --> 00:42:19

And Ali said to this Jewish man, صِفْ

00:42:19 --> 00:42:24

لِنِعْمَ الدُّنْيَةِ Describe the blessings of this world.

00:42:25 --> 00:42:29

He said, نِعْمَ الدُّنْيَةِ كَثِيرًا لَا تُحْصَى The

00:42:29 --> 00:42:33

blessings of this world are many and I

00:42:33 --> 00:42:35

can't enumerate them.

00:42:35 --> 00:42:38

And he said, Allah says in the Qur

00:42:38 --> 00:42:41

'an that the متاع of this dunya is

00:42:41 --> 00:42:41

قليل.

00:42:42 --> 00:42:45

That the, the joy or pleasures of this

00:42:45 --> 00:42:46

world are very few.

00:42:47 --> 00:42:52

And he described the prophets خُلُقًا عَظِيمًۭ فَإِذَا

00:42:52 --> 00:42:56

لَتَصِفُوا الْقَلِيلَ فَإِذَا لَتَصِفُوا الْقَلِيلَ If you can't

00:42:56 --> 00:43:00

describe what is few, how can I describe

00:43:00 --> 00:43:01

what is vast?

00:43:02 --> 00:43:09

But the best answer to that question was

00:43:09 --> 00:43:11

given by his beloved wife Aisha رضي الله

00:43:11 --> 00:43:18

عنه كان خُلُقُهُ الْقُرْآن His خُلُق was the

00:43:18 --> 00:43:18

Qur'an.

00:43:19 --> 00:43:21

The Prophet ﷺ خُلُق was the Qur'an.

00:43:22 --> 00:43:24

He was the Qur'an walking.

00:43:24 --> 00:43:26

If you want to know the Prophet ﷺ,

00:43:26 --> 00:43:26

read the Qur'an.

00:43:27 --> 00:43:30

The Qur'an says قُلُوا لِلنَّاسِ حُسْنَةً Speak

00:43:30 --> 00:43:31

well to people.

00:43:31 --> 00:43:33

The Prophet ﷺ never spoke other than well

00:43:33 --> 00:43:34

to people.

00:43:34 --> 00:43:37

When people were rude to him, some of

00:43:37 --> 00:43:39

the Sahaba got upset.

00:43:39 --> 00:43:41

The Prophet ﷺ would always calm them down

00:43:41 --> 00:43:42

and he would speak well.

00:43:42 --> 00:43:45

When Aisha heard one of the Jews say

00:43:45 --> 00:43:48

سَامْ عَلَيْكُمْ Which means death be upon you.

00:43:48 --> 00:43:50

She said وَعَلَيْكُمْ سَامً وَلَعْنَةُ اللَّهِ And she

00:43:50 --> 00:43:52

gave it back to him and more.

00:43:54 --> 00:43:58

And the Prophet ﷺ told her calm down

00:43:58 --> 00:43:58

Aisha.

00:44:00 --> 00:44:01

Didn't you hear me?

00:44:01 --> 00:44:10

I said وَعَلَيْكُمْ That's all you need to

00:44:10 --> 00:44:10

do.

00:44:12 --> 00:44:17

They said, they tried to call him by

00:44:17 --> 00:44:20

a ridiculing name because his name was Muhammad.

00:44:21 --> 00:44:24

And he said when he heard it, it's

00:44:24 --> 00:44:26

in the Sahih collection Al-Bukhari mentions.

00:44:26 --> 00:44:29

When he heard it, he said سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ

00:44:29 --> 00:44:34

عَجِبًا كَيْفَ صَرَفَ اللَّهُ إِسْمِي عَنْ أَلْسِنَةٍ Isn't

00:44:34 --> 00:44:37

it wondrous how their tongues have been diverted

00:44:37 --> 00:44:38

from my name.

00:44:38 --> 00:44:42

They're calling somebody name مُذَمَّم And I'm Muhammad.

00:44:42 --> 00:44:45

They're talking about somebody named مُذَمَّم And I'm

00:44:45 --> 00:44:47

Muhammad ﷺ.

00:44:49 --> 00:44:52

In other words, he didn't give it reality.

00:44:53 --> 00:44:55

He just didn't, nothing could faze him.

00:44:55 --> 00:44:57

He was in the hub.

00:44:57 --> 00:45:00

He was always present with his Lord.

00:45:00 --> 00:45:02

He was always there.

00:45:02 --> 00:45:04

And that's why the closer you get to

00:45:04 --> 00:45:07

the Prophet ﷺ, the closer you get to

00:45:07 --> 00:45:11

that center of being, which is unflappable.

00:45:11 --> 00:45:14

It's something that can never upset you, no

00:45:14 --> 00:45:15

matter what it is.

00:45:16 --> 00:45:18

When he was in the cave, imagine this.

00:45:18 --> 00:45:21

First of all, a spider spins its web

00:45:21 --> 00:45:24

miraculously around the cave.

00:45:25 --> 00:45:27

When these trackers, and these were the best

00:45:27 --> 00:45:28

trackers the Arabs had.

00:45:28 --> 00:45:30

And the Arabs had Qiyaf and Iraf.

00:45:30 --> 00:45:32

They had these sciences of tracking.

00:45:32 --> 00:45:33

They knew how to track.

00:45:33 --> 00:45:34

So they got to the cave.

00:45:35 --> 00:45:37

They tracked him to the cave.

00:45:37 --> 00:45:39

But then he saw the spider web.

00:45:39 --> 00:45:42

There was a dove with overhead.

00:45:42 --> 00:45:44

And they were saying, but he looked in

00:45:44 --> 00:45:45

the cave.

00:45:45 --> 00:45:48

And Abu Bakr was, he was very nervous.

00:45:49 --> 00:45:51

And the Prophet just looked at him.

00:45:51 --> 00:45:53

And then he pointed to the end of

00:45:53 --> 00:45:54

the cave.

00:45:55 --> 00:45:58

And Abu Bakr saw the shores of Jeddah.

00:46:01 --> 00:46:02

This is like a wormhole.

00:46:07 --> 00:46:08

It's amazing.

00:46:08 --> 00:46:09

He never had fear.

00:46:10 --> 00:46:12

When Abu Bakr, the Prophet ﷺ, they're riding.

00:46:12 --> 00:46:16

The two of them fleeing from Mecca to

00:46:16 --> 00:46:17

Medina.

00:46:18 --> 00:46:20

Suraqa ibn Malik, he's one of their great

00:46:20 --> 00:46:20

trackers.

00:46:21 --> 00:46:22

He's right behind them.

00:46:22 --> 00:46:24

Abu Bakr keeps looking.

00:46:24 --> 00:46:24

He's very nervous.

00:46:25 --> 00:46:25

He looked at the Prophet.

00:46:25 --> 00:46:27

He was reciting the Qur'an.

00:46:27 --> 00:46:31

لَا تَحْسَنْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ مَعْنَا Don't, don't, don't

00:46:31 --> 00:46:31

grieve.

00:46:32 --> 00:46:32

Don't worry.

00:46:32 --> 00:46:33

Allah is with us.

00:46:33 --> 00:46:35

He had absolute tawakkul ala Allah.

00:46:35 --> 00:46:37

He completely trusted Allah.

00:46:37 --> 00:46:40

When the man who was trying to kill

00:46:40 --> 00:46:43

him found him sleeping under a tree.

00:46:43 --> 00:46:46

He picked up the sword.

00:46:46 --> 00:46:48

And he said, who's going to defend you

00:46:48 --> 00:46:48

now?

00:46:49 --> 00:46:50

And the Prophet said, Allah.

00:46:50 --> 00:46:51

The man dropped the sword.

00:46:52 --> 00:46:55

And the Prophet picked him up the sword.

00:46:57 --> 00:46:58

And then he asked him.

00:46:59 --> 00:47:01

And he said, you're a noble man.

00:47:02 --> 00:47:04

He wanted his hilm.

00:47:05 --> 00:47:05

And the Prophet did.

00:47:05 --> 00:47:06

This was our Prophet.

00:47:07 --> 00:47:08

He had no fear.

00:47:08 --> 00:47:10

No matter how bad it got.

00:47:10 --> 00:47:11

He did not have fear.

00:47:12 --> 00:47:13

And this is what we have to remember

00:47:13 --> 00:47:15

in these times.

00:47:16 --> 00:47:19

The Prophet ﷺ knew, الْعَاقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ He wasn't

00:47:19 --> 00:47:20

of this world.

00:47:21 --> 00:47:22

He's not a dunya-y person.

00:47:22 --> 00:47:23

He was not a worldling.

00:47:24 --> 00:47:25

He was of the other world.

00:47:25 --> 00:47:29

Christ said, my kingdom is not of this

00:47:29 --> 00:47:29

world.

00:47:29 --> 00:47:32

The Prophet ﷺ is from the same prophetic

00:47:32 --> 00:47:32

tradition.

00:47:33 --> 00:47:35

This is not the kingdom of the Prophet

00:47:35 --> 00:47:36

ﷺ.

00:47:36 --> 00:47:37

This is dunya.

00:47:37 --> 00:47:39

And dunya is hardship.

00:47:39 --> 00:47:41

Nobody had a more difficult time than the

00:47:41 --> 00:47:42

Prophets.

00:47:42 --> 00:47:46

The Prophet ﷺ said, الشَدُّ النَّاسِ بَلَأْنَا الْأَنبِيَاتِ

00:47:46 --> 00:47:49

ثُمَّ الْأَمْثَلْ فَالْأَمْثَلْ The people that have the

00:47:49 --> 00:47:51

most difficult time in this dunya are the

00:47:51 --> 00:47:52

Prophets.

00:47:52 --> 00:47:53

And then those closest to them.

00:47:53 --> 00:47:56

Our Prophet ﷺ buried all of his children

00:47:56 --> 00:47:57

except for Fatima.

00:47:58 --> 00:48:00

Who amongst us has had to bury all

00:48:00 --> 00:48:01

of their children?

00:48:01 --> 00:48:03

He buried all of his children.

00:48:03 --> 00:48:05

The Prophet ﷺ lost everything.

00:48:06 --> 00:48:09

They were eating the leaves off trees.

00:48:09 --> 00:48:10

The best of creation.

00:48:11 --> 00:48:11

The best of creation.

00:48:12 --> 00:48:16

They were eating, taking the leaves and basically

00:48:16 --> 00:48:17

grinding them down.

00:48:17 --> 00:48:19

And they were eating leaves on trees during

00:48:19 --> 00:48:24

the hisar in Mecca.

00:48:25 --> 00:48:27

The Prophet ﷺ for the first five years

00:48:27 --> 00:48:30

in Medina, people don't realize he made hijrah,

00:48:30 --> 00:48:32

but the first five years they didn't even

00:48:32 --> 00:48:34

feel safe in Medina.

00:48:34 --> 00:48:37

They were constantly having difficulties in the Qur

00:48:37 --> 00:48:37

'an.

00:48:38 --> 00:48:40

They were always feeling unsafe.

00:48:41 --> 00:48:43

In the fifth year all of the Arabs

00:48:43 --> 00:48:44

came.

00:48:44 --> 00:48:45

30,000.

00:48:46 --> 00:48:52

The Prophet ﷺ, Medina was between two, they

00:48:52 --> 00:48:53

call it Labbatayn.

00:48:53 --> 00:48:54

In the Muwatta it's called Labbatayn.

00:48:55 --> 00:48:55

You know, lava.

00:48:56 --> 00:48:57

It's lava tracks.

00:48:57 --> 00:48:58

Lava is in Arabic.

00:48:58 --> 00:48:59

Lava is lava.

00:49:00 --> 00:49:00

Right?

00:49:00 --> 00:49:03

Fa and Ba are from the same mahraj.

00:49:03 --> 00:49:03

They're labials.

00:49:04 --> 00:49:07

So, allahu alam, I must have come from

00:49:07 --> 00:49:07

the Arabs.

00:49:07 --> 00:49:08

Lava.

00:49:09 --> 00:49:11

But he had these two lava tracks.

00:49:13 --> 00:49:15

And they knew they were coming because the

00:49:15 --> 00:49:17

Prophet had spies.

00:49:17 --> 00:49:18

He had people out.

00:49:18 --> 00:49:18

They knew.

00:49:19 --> 00:49:21

30,000 Arabs.

00:49:21 --> 00:49:25

They came for genocide to eliminate this community,

00:49:25 --> 00:49:26

to finish it.

00:49:27 --> 00:49:28

This was their plan.

00:49:29 --> 00:49:31

So, this was a matter of life and

00:49:31 --> 00:49:31

death.

00:49:32 --> 00:49:34

The Prophet ﷺ was talking about his strategy.

00:49:34 --> 00:49:38

Salman said, in Persia, we build trenches.

00:49:42 --> 00:49:43

You know, when the Prophet ﷺ, this is

00:49:43 --> 00:49:46

one of the most amazing things about our

00:49:46 --> 00:49:46

Prophet ﷺ.

00:49:46 --> 00:49:49

This is a man who had wahi from

00:49:49 --> 00:49:49

Allah ﷻ.

00:49:50 --> 00:49:55

And yet, when he was discussing things with

00:49:55 --> 00:49:59

his companions, because he was not, he wasn't

00:49:59 --> 00:50:01

somebody that just talked.

00:50:01 --> 00:50:02

He listened.

00:50:03 --> 00:50:05

He would elicit from his companions.

00:50:05 --> 00:50:06

He wanted to hear from them.

00:50:06 --> 00:50:08

He wanted to see what they thought.

00:50:09 --> 00:50:11

So, if he gave an opinion, they would

00:50:11 --> 00:50:16

say, وَحْيٌّ أَمْ حَرْبٌ رَأْيٌّ وَحَرْبٌ يَا رَسُولُ

00:50:16 --> 00:50:19

اللَّهِ أَوْ مَكِيْرَةٌ وَحَرْبٌ Is this revelation or

00:50:19 --> 00:50:20

is this strategy?

00:50:20 --> 00:50:23

He said, بَلْ مَكِيْرَةٌ وَحَرْبٌ This is strategy.

00:50:24 --> 00:50:26

They said, well, what about this?

00:50:27 --> 00:50:28

And they would give their opinions.

00:50:28 --> 00:50:30

And if it was a better opinion as

00:50:30 --> 00:50:32

far as he was concerned, then he would

00:50:32 --> 00:50:33

take it.

00:50:33 --> 00:50:37

So, Salman said, the trench.

00:50:38 --> 00:50:40

Shaykh Abdullah al-Qadi showed that this was

00:50:40 --> 00:50:43

an engineering miracle, because they built this trench

00:50:43 --> 00:50:45

in a very short period of time.

00:50:45 --> 00:50:47

And it was between the two lava tracks.

00:50:48 --> 00:50:50

And so, they couldn't, people don't realize because

00:50:50 --> 00:50:52

when you go to Medina now, you can't

00:50:52 --> 00:50:54

understand the trench because the lava tracks are

00:50:54 --> 00:50:54

gone.

00:50:55 --> 00:50:56

You can't walk on them.

00:50:56 --> 00:50:58

If you go outside of Medina, you'll find

00:50:58 --> 00:50:59

the lava tracks.

00:50:59 --> 00:51:00

You can't walk on them.

00:51:01 --> 00:51:03

They're sharp and they can't cross them with,

00:51:04 --> 00:51:06

they're very difficult to cross just with shoes

00:51:06 --> 00:51:09

and impossible with animals.

00:51:11 --> 00:51:12

So, they were in the trench.

00:51:14 --> 00:51:17

And the munafiqun were in the trench.

00:51:18 --> 00:51:19

And the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, he saw

00:51:19 --> 00:51:24

these strikes when they hit the rock.

00:51:24 --> 00:51:26

Because Medina has a lot of rock.

00:51:26 --> 00:51:28

He saw this strike and he saw the

00:51:28 --> 00:51:30

palaces of Syria.

00:51:31 --> 00:51:33

And then he saw another strike.

00:51:33 --> 00:51:35

He saw the palaces of Persia.

00:51:36 --> 00:51:38

This is like what he said to Suraqa.

00:51:39 --> 00:51:43

He said when Suraqa's horse went into the

00:51:43 --> 00:51:47

sand and then he realized something unusual and

00:51:47 --> 00:51:50

supernatural was happening, he asked for aman.

00:51:50 --> 00:51:51

The Prophet gave him aman.

00:51:51 --> 00:51:53

These Arabs, the thing about the Arabs and

00:51:53 --> 00:51:54

this is what some people don't understand today

00:51:54 --> 00:51:57

because, you know, you go to the modern

00:51:57 --> 00:51:58

Arab world, it's very different.

00:51:59 --> 00:52:01

But the Jahili Arabs were people of their

00:52:01 --> 00:52:01

word.

00:52:01 --> 00:52:03

If they gave their word, they didn't break

00:52:03 --> 00:52:04

their word.

00:52:06 --> 00:52:09

And so the Prophet gave him aman he

00:52:09 --> 00:52:11

asked him, what did they promise you?

00:52:12 --> 00:52:16

He said 100 camels, 100 camels.

00:52:17 --> 00:52:20

And he said, what do you think about

00:52:20 --> 00:52:23

wearing the bracelets of Kisra one day?

00:52:24 --> 00:52:27

Suraqa, this is a Bedouin man.

00:52:27 --> 00:52:29

He can't imagine that.

00:52:30 --> 00:52:32

In the time of Omar, when they brought

00:52:32 --> 00:52:38

the bracelets of Kisra, Suraqa, Omar actually put

00:52:38 --> 00:52:39

them on Suraqa.

00:52:40 --> 00:52:43

So we can't imagine this, but the munafiqoon

00:52:43 --> 00:52:45

are in there and they're saying, he's talking

00:52:45 --> 00:52:48

about the palaces of Persia and Syria.

00:52:49 --> 00:52:50

We can't even go relieve ourselves.

00:52:52 --> 00:52:55

Because they were stuck in the trench and

00:52:55 --> 00:52:57

so many Muslims today are stuck in the

00:52:57 --> 00:52:57

trench.

00:52:58 --> 00:53:01

They can't see where this is all headed.

00:53:02 --> 00:53:03

They've lost sight.

00:53:03 --> 00:53:05

You know, they say the Arabs say the

00:53:05 --> 00:53:08

donkey is not honored because the donkey looks

00:53:08 --> 00:53:10

at its feet, but the camel is honored

00:53:10 --> 00:53:13

in their culture because the camel looks at

00:53:13 --> 00:53:13

the horizon.

00:53:16 --> 00:53:18

It doesn't look at its feet.

00:53:18 --> 00:53:20

It looks at the horizon, the afaq.

00:53:21 --> 00:53:22

That's our prophet.

00:53:22 --> 00:53:23

He was a visionary.

00:53:24 --> 00:53:27

He dreamed with his eyes wide open and

00:53:27 --> 00:53:28

he realized those dreams.

00:53:29 --> 00:53:32

He saw something other people couldn't see and

00:53:32 --> 00:53:33

that's the visionary.

00:53:34 --> 00:53:35

And he was the greatest of visionaries.

00:53:36 --> 00:53:38

He saw a day when a woman could

00:53:38 --> 00:53:41

ride from Syria to Yemen and fear nothing

00:53:41 --> 00:53:43

but the wolves on the path.

00:53:43 --> 00:53:44

And that day came.

00:53:45 --> 00:53:48

And we should make that day again because

00:53:48 --> 00:53:51

you look at the lawlessness on our planet,

00:53:51 --> 00:53:54

the sexual trafficking, all of these things that

00:53:54 --> 00:53:58

he came to elevate people above to bring

00:53:58 --> 00:54:00

them back to their nature, to not let

00:54:00 --> 00:54:03

the guest take over the host.

00:54:05 --> 00:54:08

Because we're Banu Adam, but we have enemies.

00:54:08 --> 00:54:11

We have the enemy of Shaytan, Iblis.

00:54:11 --> 00:54:13

People can say whatever they want.

00:54:13 --> 00:54:14

They don't believe in Iblis.

00:54:14 --> 00:54:17

We see the effects of Iblis all over.

00:54:18 --> 00:54:19

If you can't see that, you're blind.

00:54:20 --> 00:54:21

And many people are blind.

00:54:21 --> 00:54:22

They can't see.

00:54:22 --> 00:54:23

They couldn't see the prophet.

00:54:23 --> 00:54:26

They thought he was Yatimo Bani Hashim, the

00:54:26 --> 00:54:27

orphan of Bani Hashim.

00:54:27 --> 00:54:29

They used to call him Ibn Abi Kabsha,

00:54:29 --> 00:54:32

you know, from Hanima Sa'diyah.

00:54:33 --> 00:54:35

These are the things they said about him.

00:54:36 --> 00:54:37

He didn't care.

00:54:37 --> 00:54:39

He had his blinders on.

00:54:39 --> 00:54:40

He didn't listen to what others said.

00:54:41 --> 00:54:42

This is our Prophet ﷺ.

00:54:43 --> 00:54:45

Allah describes him as Ra'ufun Rahim.

00:54:45 --> 00:54:48

These are attributes of God that he describes

00:54:48 --> 00:54:49

our prophet with.

00:54:49 --> 00:54:53

Because in our tradition, there's Sifat Mushtaraka and

00:54:53 --> 00:54:55

then there's Sifat Munfarida.

00:54:55 --> 00:54:56

Only Allah has them.

00:54:56 --> 00:54:58

But there's other Sifat that are shared with

00:54:58 --> 00:55:00

human beings, like Raziq.

00:55:01 --> 00:55:04

Somebody is your provider, right?

00:55:05 --> 00:55:08

So the prophet was Ra'ufun Rahim.

00:55:08 --> 00:55:09

He was compassionate.

00:55:09 --> 00:55:10

He was merciful with his community.

00:55:10 --> 00:55:11

He cared about people.

00:55:12 --> 00:55:14

He didn't just care about the Muslims.

00:55:14 --> 00:55:16

He cared about humanity.

00:55:16 --> 00:55:18

And this is where the Muslims have lost.

00:55:19 --> 00:55:22

Many Muslims have lost the plot.

00:55:24 --> 00:55:27

كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَ لِلنَّاسِ You were the

00:55:27 --> 00:55:30

best people brought forth for humanity, not for

00:55:30 --> 00:55:30

yourselves.

00:55:33 --> 00:55:37

أُخْرِجَ لِلنَّاسِ And what gives you that quality?

00:55:38 --> 00:55:41

You enjoin what's right and you forbid what's

00:55:41 --> 00:55:41

wrong.

00:55:41 --> 00:55:42

You enjoin virtue.

00:55:43 --> 00:55:44

You forbid vice.

00:55:44 --> 00:55:45

And you believe in God.

00:55:46 --> 00:55:49

It's not secular values that you're elevating.

00:55:51 --> 00:55:53

They're values that are grounded in reality.

00:55:54 --> 00:55:57

Because without reality, those values have no grounding.

00:55:58 --> 00:55:59

They're just opinions.

00:56:01 --> 00:56:04

So the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he

00:56:04 --> 00:56:09

came to elevate our species, to bring them

00:56:09 --> 00:56:11

back to their Lord at a time when

00:56:11 --> 00:56:13

the Jews and the Christians went into 72

00:56:13 --> 00:56:17

and 73 sects, when all of the idol

00:56:17 --> 00:56:18

worship.

00:56:18 --> 00:56:20

The Quran says, travel in the land, you'll

00:56:20 --> 00:56:21

see most people were idolaters.

00:56:22 --> 00:56:23

How did the Quran know that?

00:56:24 --> 00:56:27

In 7th century Arabia, we go to South

00:56:27 --> 00:56:30

America, we go to Mexico, we go, in

00:56:30 --> 00:56:32

fact, the Native Americans here are one of

00:56:32 --> 00:56:34

the rare Aboriginals that were Unitarian.

00:56:35 --> 00:56:36

They had a better understanding of God than

00:56:36 --> 00:56:38

the Christians that came to try to convert

00:56:38 --> 00:56:38

them.

00:56:39 --> 00:56:40

Wallahi they did.

00:56:41 --> 00:56:43

If you study the plain Indians in particular,

00:56:44 --> 00:56:46

they had a better understanding of God.

00:56:47 --> 00:56:48

They didn't have idols.

00:56:48 --> 00:56:50

They had no idols.

00:56:53 --> 00:56:56

So the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, this

00:56:56 --> 00:56:58

is his mission, and then he left it

00:56:58 --> 00:56:58

to us.

00:56:59 --> 00:57:00

He left it to us.

00:57:00 --> 00:57:03

بَلِّغوا عَنِّي وَلَوْ آيَةٍ Tell people about this.

00:57:03 --> 00:57:07

Sheikh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi, Allah ya'fadahu, in

00:57:07 --> 00:57:11

his Muqaddimah for the Hamziyah, he said, we

00:57:11 --> 00:57:14

have a duty to proclaim his praise to

00:57:14 --> 00:57:15

the world, Muslims.

00:57:16 --> 00:57:19

Look how they, you know, one of the

00:57:19 --> 00:57:21

hallmarks of the time we're living is identity

00:57:21 --> 00:57:22

theft.

00:57:23 --> 00:57:26

Our prophet is a victim of identity theft.

00:57:27 --> 00:57:30

And unfortunately, some of the Muslims themselves have

00:57:30 --> 00:57:31

stolen his identity.

00:57:32 --> 00:57:34

They've made him something that he isn't.

00:57:34 --> 00:57:38

And then the people, there's three types of

00:57:38 --> 00:57:39

people here.

00:57:39 --> 00:57:42

That, you know, what they call Islamophobes or

00:57:42 --> 00:57:45

whatever you, I'm just anti-Muslim, you know,

00:57:45 --> 00:57:47

I don't, phobia is a problematic word for

00:57:47 --> 00:57:51

me, but, you know, because there are some

00:57:51 --> 00:57:53

valid fears for fearing some of the Muslims

00:57:53 --> 00:57:55

these days, unfortunately.

00:57:55 --> 00:57:56

So it's not irrational.

00:57:57 --> 00:57:59

I'm afraid of some of the Muslims.

00:58:01 --> 00:58:04

But you have three, you have three types.

00:58:04 --> 00:58:06

You have one group that knows who the

00:58:06 --> 00:58:08

prophet is, and they're just evil.

00:58:09 --> 00:58:10

They know.

00:58:11 --> 00:58:15

Some from our brethren, from other Abrahamic faiths,

00:58:16 --> 00:58:17

they know.

00:58:17 --> 00:58:19

The Catholics know who he is because they

00:58:19 --> 00:58:21

borrowed heavily from our religion.

00:58:22 --> 00:58:25

Their theology is Mu'tazilite.

00:58:27 --> 00:58:31

St. Thomas Aquinas, you know, there's a whole

00:58:31 --> 00:58:32

book written on this now.

00:58:33 --> 00:58:34

You know, it's well known.

00:58:34 --> 00:58:37

I mean, he heavily borrowed from the Mu'tazilite

00:58:37 --> 00:58:37

theology.

00:58:40 --> 00:58:42

Abba Senna says, the sifat and the that,

00:58:43 --> 00:58:45

there's no, it's the same.

00:58:45 --> 00:58:46

It's just from the that.

00:58:47 --> 00:58:49

He says that the essence, the attributes are

00:58:49 --> 00:58:52

the essence of God, the Mu'tazilite doctrine.

00:58:52 --> 00:58:53

Where did he get it from?

00:58:53 --> 00:58:54

Well, read his sources.

00:58:54 --> 00:58:56

He doesn't shy away from quoting them.

00:58:57 --> 00:58:57

He quotes them.

00:58:59 --> 00:59:00

So they know.

00:59:00 --> 00:59:02

Those people are just evil.

00:59:03 --> 00:59:03

They're evil.

00:59:03 --> 00:59:08

They know him like they know their children.

00:59:09 --> 00:59:10

They know there are just, there are just

00:59:10 --> 00:59:15

rabbis, even on YouTube, that admit that the

00:59:15 --> 00:59:18

Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam is a providential force.

00:59:18 --> 00:59:21

They admit that the Islam is closer to

00:59:21 --> 00:59:22

us than Christianity.

00:59:22 --> 00:59:24

There are ones, but then there's other ones

00:59:24 --> 00:59:25

that just tell lies.

00:59:25 --> 00:59:27

They just tell lies, flat out lies.

00:59:27 --> 00:59:29

Because the great rabbis of their middle ages,

00:59:29 --> 00:59:34

Al-Fayoumi is amazing what he says.

00:59:34 --> 00:59:36

And that's why in our tradition, it says

00:59:36 --> 00:59:38

you can't say he's Nabi' al-Ummiyyin.

00:59:38 --> 00:59:40

It's not enough to say he's Nabi' al

00:59:40 --> 00:59:42

-Ummiyyin because some of the Jews actually said

00:59:42 --> 00:59:44

that, that he's the prophet for the Gentiles.

00:59:45 --> 00:59:46

He's not for us.

00:59:46 --> 00:59:47

He's for the Gentiles.

00:59:47 --> 00:59:48

So they actually knew he was a prophet.

00:59:49 --> 00:59:54

And we have this wonderful theologian from Villanova,

00:59:54 --> 00:59:57

who, Anna Morland, who wrote a book called

00:59:57 --> 00:59:58

Muhammad Reconsidered.

00:59:58 --> 01:00:03

She's a Christian theologian who had to teach

01:00:03 --> 01:00:04

a class on Islam.

01:00:05 --> 01:00:07

And she had her own crises.

01:00:10 --> 01:00:14

Just studying, she said, this life sounds like

01:00:14 --> 01:00:15

the life of a prophet.

01:00:16 --> 01:00:18

And so she wrote a book.

01:00:18 --> 01:00:20

We need to reconsider who this man was.

01:00:21 --> 01:00:22

These are people that are honest and fair.

01:00:23 --> 01:00:26

And then there's people that are just completely

01:00:26 --> 01:00:27

hoodwinked.

01:00:28 --> 01:00:29

They really don't know.

01:00:29 --> 01:00:32

And those are the people that we should

01:00:32 --> 01:00:34

be communicating to.

01:00:34 --> 01:00:35

Letting them know who we are.

01:00:35 --> 01:00:37

Letting them know we're victims identity theft.

01:00:38 --> 01:00:39

Because they understand that.

01:00:42 --> 01:00:45

So a few things about the prophet that

01:00:45 --> 01:00:46

really bothers them.

01:00:46 --> 01:00:48

And this is something wonderful that the great

01:00:48 --> 01:00:53

English convert to Islam, Muhammad Marmaduke William Pickthall.

01:00:54 --> 01:00:55

Amazing man.

01:00:56 --> 01:00:58

He was a best-selling author in England

01:00:58 --> 01:01:00

when he converted to Islam.

01:01:01 --> 01:01:03

His book sales bottomed out.

01:01:04 --> 01:01:05

It's very interesting.

01:01:08 --> 01:01:09

The prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said a

01:01:09 --> 01:01:10

man came to him.

01:01:10 --> 01:01:16

He said, Well, I knew he said, Like

01:01:16 --> 01:01:18

then get ready for poverty.

01:01:18 --> 01:01:20

He said, I love you.

01:01:20 --> 01:01:21

He said it three times.

01:01:21 --> 01:01:23

And the prophet said, get ready.

01:01:23 --> 01:01:25

He said, prepare for poverty.

01:01:27 --> 01:01:29

Is what the Arabs put on the horse

01:01:29 --> 01:01:31

to protect it from the spears.

01:01:31 --> 01:01:36

They called a barding or a coupler barding.

01:01:37 --> 01:01:38

It's called on the horse.

01:01:39 --> 01:01:41

So he said, in other words, tribulation is

01:01:41 --> 01:01:42

going to come to you.

01:01:43 --> 01:01:45

Because that's the nature of it.

01:01:45 --> 01:01:47

So you either get it in this world

01:01:47 --> 01:01:48

or the next world.

01:01:48 --> 01:01:49

But tribulation is coming.

01:01:50 --> 01:01:52

It's either in this world or it's in

01:01:52 --> 01:01:53

the next world.

01:01:55 --> 01:01:57

It's better in this world.

01:01:57 --> 01:02:00

It believes, you know, the people that sign

01:02:00 --> 01:02:00

up for his program.

01:02:01 --> 01:02:04

He has a great 401k plan.

01:02:04 --> 01:02:05

It's all no.

01:02:05 --> 01:02:08

Seriously, there's people that sign.

01:02:09 --> 01:02:10

You know, I asked my father, do you

01:02:10 --> 01:02:11

think they sign on the dotted line?

01:02:11 --> 01:02:13

He said, No, it's a long series of

01:02:13 --> 01:02:13

negotiations.

01:02:15 --> 01:02:15

Right.

01:02:15 --> 01:02:18

But there's people that sign up with Iblis.

01:02:21 --> 01:02:23

Seriously, there are people that sign.

01:02:23 --> 01:02:25

There was a documentary done where they put

01:02:25 --> 01:02:27

an ad in the paper for people that

01:02:27 --> 01:02:29

wanted to sell their soul to the devil.

01:02:29 --> 01:02:31

There's a documentary, a full documentary.

01:02:32 --> 01:02:35

And they got people that came and they

01:02:35 --> 01:02:36

literally signed.

01:02:36 --> 01:02:37

And they went through, they took them to

01:02:37 --> 01:02:40

these satanic rituals to sell their soul.

01:02:40 --> 01:02:41

And they were totally ready.

01:02:42 --> 01:02:43

And one of them just said, you know,

01:02:44 --> 01:02:46

I've been trying to break in until you

01:02:46 --> 01:02:47

want to be a rock star.

01:02:47 --> 01:02:50

And he said, I've been trying to, I'm

01:02:50 --> 01:02:50

35.

01:02:51 --> 01:02:52

My time's almost ending.

01:02:52 --> 01:02:55

You know, I'm willing to sell my soul.

01:02:55 --> 01:02:58

So don't think people won't sell their soul.

01:02:58 --> 01:03:03

But Iblis is, his afterlife plan is terrible.

01:03:05 --> 01:03:07

So our dean is a dean.

01:03:08 --> 01:03:10

There are wealthy Muslims there.

01:03:10 --> 01:03:11

But I'll tell you, one of the things

01:03:11 --> 01:03:13

that I've noted in knowing a lot of

01:03:13 --> 01:03:16

wealthy Muslims, they have great tribulation.

01:03:16 --> 01:03:17

People of wealth have great tribulation.

01:03:18 --> 01:03:20

You know, this kind of Marxist view that,

01:03:20 --> 01:03:22

oh, their lives are all cushy.

01:03:22 --> 01:03:24

It's like rulers.

01:03:24 --> 01:03:25

People think rulers, it's all perks.

01:03:25 --> 01:03:26

They don't sleep.

01:03:26 --> 01:03:30

Qaddafi never slept in the same place twice.

01:03:30 --> 01:03:32

Every night he's worried about a coup.

01:03:33 --> 01:03:34

You know, they take pills to get up.

01:03:35 --> 01:03:36

They take pills to go to sleep.

01:03:36 --> 01:03:37

These are real headaches.

01:03:37 --> 01:03:39

I mean, I run a small college.

01:03:39 --> 01:03:40

This is a very small college.

01:03:40 --> 01:03:41

I run a small college.

01:03:41 --> 01:03:42

It's problems all the time.

01:03:43 --> 01:03:44

It's problem.

01:03:44 --> 01:03:45

The teacher has problems.

01:03:45 --> 01:03:46

Students have problems.

01:03:46 --> 01:03:48

Staff has problems.

01:03:48 --> 01:03:49

Budget's problems.

01:03:49 --> 01:03:50

It's problem.

01:03:52 --> 01:03:58

But subhanAllah, to run a whole country, wow.

01:03:58 --> 01:04:01

That's not something that you should wish for.

01:04:01 --> 01:04:04

And that's why the Prophet said, We don't

01:04:04 --> 01:04:07

give governance to anybody who wants it.

01:04:07 --> 01:04:07

Why?

01:04:08 --> 01:04:10

Because it means he doesn't understand what it

01:04:10 --> 01:04:11

is.

01:04:12 --> 01:04:13

That's why.

01:04:15 --> 01:04:17

And we don't give it to one who

01:04:17 --> 01:04:18

covets it once he gets it.

01:04:19 --> 01:04:20

This is the hikmah of the Prophet.

01:04:20 --> 01:04:22

Now, just a few things about our Prophet.

01:04:22 --> 01:04:27

First of all, there is no Prophet that

01:04:27 --> 01:04:28

did what our Prophet did.

01:04:28 --> 01:04:29

None of them.

01:04:29 --> 01:04:30

They're all great.

01:04:31 --> 01:04:37

And the Prophet said, even though he's mufaddal,

01:04:37 --> 01:04:39

but he told us, Don't go to the

01:04:39 --> 01:04:40

Jews.

01:04:40 --> 01:04:41

Our Prophet is better than your Prophet.

01:04:41 --> 01:04:42

Moses was a great Prophet.

01:04:43 --> 01:04:43

One of the greatest.

01:04:44 --> 01:04:46

The five major Prophets.

01:04:47 --> 01:04:49

But none of them.

01:04:49 --> 01:04:51

Moses never led a state.

01:04:52 --> 01:04:54

People see the Prophet in Mecca and they

01:04:54 --> 01:04:59

say, Mamdouh Pichlau says, The sentimentalist, somebody who's

01:04:59 --> 01:05:01

sentimental, shallow feelings.

01:05:01 --> 01:05:03

He says, Oh, he was like Jesus in

01:05:03 --> 01:05:03

Mecca.

01:05:04 --> 01:05:05

But then in Medina, he changes.

01:05:05 --> 01:05:06

His personality changed.

01:05:07 --> 01:05:07

He didn't change.

01:05:08 --> 01:05:09

Nothing changed about him.

01:05:09 --> 01:05:10

He's the same Prophet.

01:05:11 --> 01:05:13

He's the same caring, gentle human being.

01:05:13 --> 01:05:15

But now he's the head of a state.

01:05:16 --> 01:05:18

It's a different set of circumstances.

01:05:20 --> 01:05:21

He has different considerations.

01:05:21 --> 01:05:24

Heads of state have to assassinate.

01:05:25 --> 01:05:27

This is part of being a head of

01:05:27 --> 01:05:27

state.

01:05:27 --> 01:05:29

You don't think the Americans don't assassinate?

01:05:30 --> 01:05:34

There's no country that is in power that

01:05:34 --> 01:05:35

doesn't use assassination.

01:05:38 --> 01:05:39

This is a head of state.

01:05:40 --> 01:05:41

He ran courts.

01:05:44 --> 01:05:45

He led armies.

01:05:45 --> 01:05:45

He was a general.

01:05:46 --> 01:05:50

And he wasn't like today's generals that are

01:05:50 --> 01:05:56

in Nevada with Apple computers or whatever they

01:05:56 --> 01:05:59

use, you know, dictating what the drone strike

01:05:59 --> 01:05:59

should do.

01:06:00 --> 01:06:03

No, he was there on the battlefield leading

01:06:03 --> 01:06:04

the battle.

01:06:04 --> 01:06:07

He was the bravest of men.

01:06:08 --> 01:06:12

In the Sahih Hadith, there was a massive

01:06:12 --> 01:06:15

boom in Medina and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi

01:06:15 --> 01:06:19

wa sallam, the Sahaba went out immediately after

01:06:19 --> 01:06:21

hearing this because they thought there was some

01:06:21 --> 01:06:22

attack on the city.

01:06:23 --> 01:06:26

And the Prophet was coming back with the

01:06:26 --> 01:06:27

horse of Abu Talha.

01:06:28 --> 01:06:29

And they said he was Ariyun.

01:06:29 --> 01:06:31

In other words, it was an unsaddled.

01:06:31 --> 01:06:33

He was riding an unsaddled horse because he

01:06:33 --> 01:06:35

didn't have time to put on the saddle.

01:06:35 --> 01:06:38

And anybody who's ridden horses * knows how

01:06:38 --> 01:06:39

difficult it is.

01:06:40 --> 01:06:41

And he was on his way back with

01:06:41 --> 01:06:43

his sword around his neck.

01:06:45 --> 01:06:46

And he said, لا ترعوا, لا ترعوا, don't

01:06:46 --> 01:06:48

be afraid, don't be afraid.

01:06:48 --> 01:06:50

And then he said to Abu Talha because

01:06:50 --> 01:06:51

he took his horse.

01:06:51 --> 01:06:53

Horses faster than camel.

01:06:53 --> 01:06:55

He took his horse and he said, this

01:06:55 --> 01:06:57

is an ocean, this horse.

01:06:59 --> 01:07:00

You know, there's a good horse.

01:07:00 --> 01:07:02

But that was his bravery.

01:07:02 --> 01:07:03

He was the first out.

01:07:03 --> 01:07:04

This is our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.

01:07:05 --> 01:07:07

He did everything.

01:07:08 --> 01:07:09

He did everything.

01:07:09 --> 01:07:11

He wrote a constitution.

01:07:13 --> 01:07:16

So he was a constitutional jurist.

01:07:18 --> 01:07:20

He put down the laws of inheritance.

01:07:21 --> 01:07:23

He put down the civil and penal code

01:07:23 --> 01:07:26

of a nation that did not have a

01:07:26 --> 01:07:28

civic or penal code before that.

01:07:29 --> 01:07:33

He united tribes that anybody who knew the

01:07:33 --> 01:07:36

Arabs knew the impossibility of uniting these tribes.

01:07:36 --> 01:07:37

And yet he brought them together.

01:07:39 --> 01:07:43

He honored the Bedouin, these rough, tough people.

01:07:44 --> 01:07:47

All of these things, he treated women better

01:07:47 --> 01:07:48

than anybody.

01:07:48 --> 01:07:54

He said, the best of you are the

01:07:54 --> 01:07:55

best of your women folk.

01:07:55 --> 01:07:56

And I'm the best of you to women

01:07:56 --> 01:07:56

folk.

01:07:58 --> 01:08:00

This is our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.

01:08:01 --> 01:08:02

Just amazing.

01:08:02 --> 01:08:08

So I want to say to you, one

01:08:08 --> 01:08:10

of the great peoples of our.

01:08:11 --> 01:08:13

And all the Muslims have greatness.

01:08:14 --> 01:08:16

There's no culture that doesn't have.

01:08:16 --> 01:08:19

Islam did not make something great about them.

01:08:19 --> 01:08:21

You can look in the past.

01:08:21 --> 01:08:23

Look, you know, I'm only in the last,

01:08:23 --> 01:08:25

you know, five or six years.

01:08:25 --> 01:08:28

I really got attracted to India and the

01:08:28 --> 01:08:31

Indian culture, Muslim culture of India and read

01:08:31 --> 01:08:33

the history and studied it and was just

01:08:33 --> 01:08:37

so amazed at the Indian culture.

01:08:38 --> 01:08:43

It's just an incredible culture of diversity, of

01:08:43 --> 01:08:47

intelligence, the people that gave the world mathematics,

01:08:48 --> 01:08:51

the people that gave so many gifts to

01:08:51 --> 01:08:53

our civilization.

01:08:53 --> 01:08:58

And one of the tragedies of Islam, of

01:08:58 --> 01:09:00

the Muslims today is they don't recognize even

01:09:00 --> 01:09:03

the pre-Islamic civilizations.

01:09:04 --> 01:09:07

Anybody who reads early Muslim literature, and I'm

01:09:07 --> 01:09:10

talking about up to about six, 700 years

01:09:10 --> 01:09:13

ago, you'll marvel at the number of Hindu

01:09:13 --> 01:09:14

sages that are quoted by Muslims.

01:09:15 --> 01:09:18

Muslims had no problem taking wisdom wherever it

01:09:18 --> 01:09:18

was.

01:09:18 --> 01:09:19

They took it.

01:09:22 --> 01:09:24

Inni z-beg-zarad.

01:09:25 --> 01:09:26

Inni z-beg-zarad.

01:09:27 --> 01:09:29

It's one of the wisdoms from a pre

01:09:29 --> 01:09:33

-Islamic Persian king who asked a wise man

01:09:33 --> 01:09:36

of Persia, I want you to give me

01:09:36 --> 01:09:37

a word that when I'm at the heights

01:09:37 --> 01:09:40

of the dunya, it will remind me.

01:09:40 --> 01:09:41

And when I'm at the bottom, I want

01:09:41 --> 01:09:42

the same thing.

01:09:42 --> 01:09:45

So he went and spent time and then

01:09:45 --> 01:09:46

he came back with a ring and on

01:09:46 --> 01:09:48

it, it said, Inni z-beg-zarad.

01:09:49 --> 01:09:50

This too shall pass.

01:09:53 --> 01:09:56

So when you're at the heights, just remember,

01:09:57 --> 01:09:58

this too shall pass.

01:09:58 --> 01:10:00

When you're at the bottom, this too shall

01:10:00 --> 01:10:00

pass.

01:10:01 --> 01:10:01

This is dunya.

01:10:04 --> 01:10:05

It's two days.

01:10:05 --> 01:10:07

It's just two days.

01:10:08 --> 01:10:10

One day you're up, the next day you're

01:10:10 --> 01:10:10

down.

01:10:10 --> 01:10:12

It's a half an inch of water and

01:10:12 --> 01:10:14

you think you're going to drown, as John

01:10:14 --> 01:10:15

Pine said.

01:10:15 --> 01:10:18

So look at this culture.

01:10:19 --> 01:10:23

One of the most beautiful cultures and I

01:10:23 --> 01:10:25

fell in love with it 40 years ago

01:10:25 --> 01:10:28

because the first Muslim village, Muslim country I

01:10:28 --> 01:10:28

went to was Morocco.

01:10:30 --> 01:10:31

And I really, I fell in love with

01:10:31 --> 01:10:31

the culture.

01:10:32 --> 01:10:33

I fell in love with the people.

01:10:34 --> 01:10:38

I spent one month with Amazigh people up

01:10:38 --> 01:10:41

in the Atlas Mountains, Sidi Saleh.

01:10:50 --> 01:10:52

Just such beautiful people.

01:10:53 --> 01:10:56

And it's all from the Prophet, peace be

01:10:56 --> 01:10:56

upon him.

01:10:56 --> 01:11:02

But every year in August, they're originally Bedouin,

01:11:02 --> 01:11:04

so they would go up to this valley

01:11:04 --> 01:11:06

and they would put tents up.

01:11:07 --> 01:11:10

They had two tents, one for Khatam al

01:11:10 --> 01:11:12

-Quran and the other for Dalail al-Khairat.

01:11:12 --> 01:11:15

And they kept it going 24-7 with

01:11:15 --> 01:11:16

a munawwaba.

01:11:16 --> 01:11:18

And then they would only break to eat.

01:11:20 --> 01:11:21

And so we went out, there was a

01:11:21 --> 01:11:23

group of Muslims from England and the US

01:11:23 --> 01:11:24

and I was with them.

01:11:25 --> 01:11:29

And one of the most powerful lessons that

01:11:29 --> 01:11:33

I ever got in my life was from

01:11:33 --> 01:11:33

these people.

01:11:35 --> 01:11:37

So there were these two women with us

01:11:37 --> 01:11:40

in the group and we had two cars

01:11:40 --> 01:11:42

and so they made a meal of each

01:11:42 --> 01:11:43

car.

01:11:43 --> 01:11:46

And so these two women were at loggerheads

01:11:46 --> 01:11:47

the whole time.

01:11:47 --> 01:11:50

They really just didn't get, you have this

01:11:50 --> 01:11:51

problem with people.

01:11:51 --> 01:11:53

You just don't get along with people sometimes.

01:11:54 --> 01:11:57

And so they actually got into a fight.

01:11:58 --> 01:12:00

And so the Amir who was with us,

01:12:00 --> 01:12:02

he said, no, no, let them, they need

01:12:02 --> 01:12:03

to get this out of their system.

01:12:04 --> 01:12:05

That's what he said.

01:12:05 --> 01:12:07

So they're letting these two women fight.

01:12:07 --> 01:12:12

One of these Amazigh men saw this happening.

01:12:12 --> 01:12:14

He ran and he broke it up.

01:12:15 --> 01:12:17

He said, la, la, la, Allahumma salli ala

01:12:17 --> 01:12:17

nabi.

01:12:17 --> 01:12:19

You know, and he pulled them apart.

01:12:21 --> 01:12:24

And then they went and told Siri Saleh,

01:12:25 --> 01:12:27

so he got all of us together and

01:12:27 --> 01:12:30

he gave us a dars about islahatul bayt.

01:12:34 --> 01:12:36

Don't let Muslims fight.

01:12:39 --> 01:12:42

That's from the Prophet ﷺ because he said

01:12:42 --> 01:12:44

that is the highest thing.

01:12:44 --> 01:12:47

If you really want to know the essence

01:12:47 --> 01:12:50

of this thing, it's rectifying between people.

01:12:51 --> 01:12:53

And look at our culture when a fight

01:12:53 --> 01:12:55

breaks out, everybody starts saying, fight, fight.

01:12:55 --> 01:12:58

And they surround it and they watch people

01:12:58 --> 01:13:00

fight like animals.

01:13:02 --> 01:13:04

This is our culture.

01:13:04 --> 01:13:06

But this is not a prophetic culture.

01:13:08 --> 01:13:11

The prophetic culture breaks these illnesses.

01:13:12 --> 01:13:14

And that's why our Prophet, everything he did

01:13:14 --> 01:13:15

was medicinal.

01:13:16 --> 01:13:20

And that's why when you have this uswa,

01:13:20 --> 01:13:24

this example, we have to take it and

01:13:24 --> 01:13:26

we have to practice it and we have

01:13:26 --> 01:13:28

to preach it and we have to teach

01:13:28 --> 01:13:31

it and we have to remind our ummah

01:13:33 --> 01:13:35

ourselves, our ummah and then the world because

01:13:35 --> 01:13:37

the world looks at Muslims now, what do

01:13:37 --> 01:13:38

we have to offer?

01:13:39 --> 01:13:42

فَاقِدُوا شَيْءٍ لَا يُعْطِيهِ Somebody that doesn't have

01:13:42 --> 01:13:44

anything can't give anything.

01:13:45 --> 01:13:48

But we have something, we're just holding on

01:13:48 --> 01:13:49

to it.

01:13:52 --> 01:13:54

Hudayf ibn al-Yaman said towards the latter

01:13:54 --> 01:13:56

days, the Muslims would be like a big

01:13:56 --> 01:13:57

rock in the river.

01:13:57 --> 01:14:00

It wouldn't let people drink from it and

01:14:00 --> 01:14:01

it wouldn't drink from it.

01:14:04 --> 01:14:05

That's what he said.

01:14:06 --> 01:14:07

Like a hajar in the river.

01:14:08 --> 01:14:12

لَا يَشْرَبُ مِنْهُ وَلَا يُخَلِّي النَّاسِ يَشْرَبُ مِنْهُ

01:14:12 --> 01:14:15

It won't drink from it and they won't

01:14:15 --> 01:14:15

let others drink.

01:14:16 --> 01:14:19

So this is the shifa of Qadayat.

01:14:20 --> 01:14:22

This was one of the most important books

01:14:22 --> 01:14:23

in the history of Islam.

01:14:24 --> 01:14:26

It was written by a great Andalusian, North

01:14:26 --> 01:14:28

African, Moroccan scholar Qadayat.

01:14:29 --> 01:14:33

They said, لَوْ لَا شِفَا مَعْ عُرِفَ مُصْطَفَةٍ

01:14:33 --> 01:14:35

If it wasn't for the shifa, you wouldn't

01:14:35 --> 01:14:36

have known the Prophet ﷺ.

01:14:37 --> 01:14:39

I want you to just think about this.

01:14:40 --> 01:14:43

This is a handwritten, this is a facsimile,

01:14:43 --> 01:14:48

but it's handwritten gold ink embroidery.

01:14:48 --> 01:14:50

Anytime the Prophet's name is mentioned, gold ink,

01:14:51 --> 01:14:53

gold ink, gold ink.

01:14:55 --> 01:14:57

There were so many copies when I first

01:14:57 --> 01:15:03

went to shop for handwritten manuscripts in Morocco.

01:15:03 --> 01:15:06

There were so many copies of this because

01:15:06 --> 01:15:09

so many Moroccans, they used to carry this

01:15:09 --> 01:15:09

book.

01:15:09 --> 01:15:11

They would read this book with the Qur

01:15:11 --> 01:15:11

'an.

01:15:12 --> 01:15:14

In their kashkul, they would have this kashkul

01:15:14 --> 01:15:16

and they would carry this, the layal al

01:15:16 --> 01:15:18

-khairat and the Qur'an.

01:15:20 --> 01:15:23

When anybody got sick, they read this book

01:15:23 --> 01:15:24

with niyat al-shifa.

01:15:25 --> 01:15:27

This is an amazing book.

01:15:28 --> 01:15:29

It's a beautiful book.

01:15:29 --> 01:15:32

It's one of the most beautiful things that

01:15:32 --> 01:15:35

anybody's ever written and it will tell you

01:15:35 --> 01:15:36

who your Prophet is.

01:15:36 --> 01:15:38

When you read this book, if you're not

01:15:38 --> 01:15:40

in love right now, you will fall in

01:15:40 --> 01:15:43

love with this man because everything about this

01:15:43 --> 01:15:44

man is beautiful.

01:15:44 --> 01:15:47

Everything about this man is amazing.

01:15:48 --> 01:15:52

There's nobody like him in the history of

01:15:52 --> 01:15:55

our species and people can't see it because

01:15:55 --> 01:15:56

they're blinded.

01:15:58 --> 01:16:00

Many Muslims are blinded.

01:16:00 --> 01:16:03

They can't see who he is, but just

01:16:03 --> 01:16:08

to give you a little example of who

01:16:08 --> 01:16:11

he was, there's so many things that we

01:16:11 --> 01:16:15

could say, but this is a beautiful testimony

01:16:15 --> 01:16:17

and I can't do a better job than

01:16:17 --> 01:16:18

just to let you know.

01:16:20 --> 01:16:22

But this was written by one of our

01:16:22 --> 01:16:23

great scholars.

01:16:23 --> 01:16:25

It's a very short book.

01:16:25 --> 01:16:29

It was written in the 8th century by

01:16:29 --> 01:16:30

Shamsuddin.

01:16:30 --> 01:16:33

He was known as bin Ahmed bin Sayyid

01:16:33 --> 01:16:33

al-Nas.

01:16:34 --> 01:16:36

And he said about the Prophet ﷺ, his

01:16:36 --> 01:16:37

akhlaaq.

01:16:37 --> 01:16:41

ومن أخلاقه صلى الله عليه وسلم سئرت عائشة

01:16:41 --> 01:16:44

رضي الله عنها عن أخلاقه فقالت كان خدق

01:16:44 --> 01:16:47

القرآن His character was the Qur'an.

01:16:48 --> 01:16:50

He would get angry for the Qur'an.

01:16:50 --> 01:16:53

In other words, the things that the Qur

01:16:53 --> 01:16:55

'an warned us about and he would be

01:16:55 --> 01:16:57

pleased with the Qur'an.

01:16:57 --> 01:17:00

He would never take vengeance for his own

01:17:00 --> 01:17:03

self nor would he get angry for his

01:17:03 --> 01:17:03

own self.

01:17:03 --> 01:17:05

He never got angry for himself.

01:17:07 --> 01:17:11

Only if the sanctities of Allah were in

01:17:11 --> 01:17:14

any way sacrilegious.

01:17:14 --> 01:17:16

That's the only time he would get upset.

01:17:17 --> 01:17:22

He got upset for Allah but he would

01:17:22 --> 01:17:26

never لم يقوم لغضبه أحد He would never

01:17:26 --> 01:17:31

allow that the ghadab of anybody to rile

01:17:31 --> 01:17:31

him.

01:17:32 --> 01:17:34

كان أشجع الناس وأسخهم He was the bravest

01:17:34 --> 01:17:35

of men.

01:17:35 --> 01:17:36

He was the most generous of men.

01:17:36 --> 01:17:38

He was the most giving of men.

01:17:39 --> 01:17:42

They said if you did not have لا

01:17:42 --> 01:17:45

in the kalima he never would have used

01:17:45 --> 01:17:45

the word.

01:17:47 --> 01:17:50

لولا لا في الشهادة لما قال لا قط

01:17:50 --> 01:17:56

He always said نعم One time somebody asked

01:17:56 --> 01:17:59

him for some a Bedouin kept asking and

01:17:59 --> 01:18:03

he said I'll take a loan and Umar

01:18:03 --> 01:18:06

said ما كلفك الله بهذا and the prophet

01:18:06 --> 01:18:08

looked at Umar and he's teaching Umar because

01:18:08 --> 01:18:10

Umar has a very high maqam and he

01:18:10 --> 01:18:12

frowned at Umar he looked at Umar and

01:18:12 --> 01:18:15

he let him know that no and then

01:18:15 --> 01:18:17

one of the Ansar said انفق يا رسول

01:18:17 --> 01:18:21

الله ولا تخافوا Just give out and don't

01:18:21 --> 01:18:23

be worried and he smiled and he said

01:18:23 --> 01:18:28

هكذا امرت Like this I was commanded So

01:18:28 --> 01:18:32

he never said no to anybody لا يبيته

01:18:32 --> 01:18:35

في بيتي دينار ولا درهما He would not

01:18:35 --> 01:18:37

sleep with anything in his house He would

01:18:37 --> 01:18:41

always give out from charity This is absolute

01:18:41 --> 01:18:43

trust in Allah It's a high maqam It's

01:18:43 --> 01:18:46

not for everybody The prophet also taught us

01:18:46 --> 01:18:50

you know to save to even food The

01:18:50 --> 01:18:52

prophet you know the Arabs had a lot

01:18:52 --> 01:18:54

of famine so he would put food for

01:18:54 --> 01:18:56

a year but it would always be exhausted

01:18:56 --> 01:18:57

because he would give it out to poor

01:18:57 --> 01:19:06

people لا يأخذ مما آتاه الله شيء إلا

01:19:06 --> 01:19:09

قوت أهله He would only take from what

01:19:09 --> 01:19:11

Allah had given him except just enough for

01:19:11 --> 01:19:15

his family and he said مَنْ أَصْبَحَ آمِنًا

01:19:15 --> 01:19:20

فِي سِرْبِهِ مُعَافًا فِي بَدْنِهِ لَهُ قُوتُ يَوْمِهِ

01:19:20 --> 01:19:25

فَكَأَنَّ مَا حِيزَ الدُّنْيَا بِحَذَافِرِهَا Anyone who gets

01:19:25 --> 01:19:29

up and is safe in his person in

01:19:29 --> 01:19:32

his property he's safe in his person he's

01:19:32 --> 01:19:36

got good health and he has enough for

01:19:36 --> 01:19:38

that day just that day it's as if

01:19:38 --> 01:19:40

he has the whole world and everything in

01:19:40 --> 01:19:45

it that's our Prophet ﷺ he said don't

01:19:45 --> 01:19:46

expect to see the end of the day

01:19:47 --> 01:19:49

every day should be the last day as

01:19:49 --> 01:19:52

far as you're concerned and then he mentioned

01:19:52 --> 01:19:54

the things so I won't mention those they

01:19:54 --> 01:19:56

were mentioned in that beautiful hadith in the

01:19:56 --> 01:19:58

Shema'il but then he says كَانَ أَعَفَّ

01:19:58 --> 01:20:02

النَّاسُ وَأَشَدَّهُمْ إِكْرَامًا لِّيَصْحَابِهِ He was the most

01:20:02 --> 01:20:04

chaste of men and he was the most

01:20:04 --> 01:20:07

generous to his companions لا يمد رجليه بينهم

01:20:07 --> 01:20:10

he would never outstretch his feet in the

01:20:10 --> 01:20:13

presence of his companions in other words he

01:20:13 --> 01:20:16

would always respect them with the Arabs it

01:20:16 --> 01:20:19

was always considered to put your soles of

01:20:19 --> 01:20:22

your feet to face somebody was عيب the

01:20:22 --> 01:20:24

Arabs didn't do that in fact there's a

01:20:24 --> 01:20:26

famous story of Abu Hanifa رضي الله عنه

01:20:26 --> 01:20:28

when a man was asking him really stupid

01:20:28 --> 01:20:30

questions and he said what time is it?

01:20:30 --> 01:20:32

he said it's time for Abu Hanifa to

01:20:32 --> 01:20:42

stretch his legs but he never did that

01:20:42 --> 01:20:45

صلى الله عليه وسلم وَيُوَسِّعُ عَلَيْهِمْ إِذَا ضَاقَ

01:20:45 --> 01:20:48

الْمَكَانِ and he would always give them room

01:20:48 --> 01:20:50

if there was no room I was once

01:20:50 --> 01:20:52

with a Mauritanian sheikh really great sheikh who

01:20:52 --> 01:20:55

died الله يرحمه the son of Muhammad al

01:20:55 --> 01:20:56

-Amin and we were going to the masjid

01:20:56 --> 01:20:58

when I was living in Medina I was

01:20:58 --> 01:21:01

a young man studying there and we came

01:21:01 --> 01:21:02

into the masjid and I'll never forget this

01:21:02 --> 01:21:05

he came up and he asked this man

01:21:05 --> 01:21:08

يَنُحُزْ عَنَّهِ like let he said يا أخي

01:21:08 --> 01:21:12

المكان ضيق he said the place is ضيق

01:21:12 --> 01:21:15

he said الضيق في القلوب he said that

01:21:15 --> 01:21:19

constriction is in your own heart and we

01:21:19 --> 01:21:21

just went somewhere else but he missed the

01:21:21 --> 01:21:23

opportunity to sit next to a great scholar

01:21:23 --> 01:21:29

he was a mufassir of quran he said

01:21:29 --> 01:21:32

الضيق في القلوب it's not in the space

01:21:32 --> 01:21:43

there's always room there's always room يُكْرِمُ

01:21:43 --> 01:21:45

أَهْلَ الفَضْلَ this is very important because the

01:21:45 --> 01:21:50

prophet ﷺ recognized منازل everybody is equal in

01:21:50 --> 01:21:53

their humanity everybody is equal in their spiritual

01:21:53 --> 01:21:59

possibility for salvation but people are different in

01:21:59 --> 01:22:01

their contribution to a culture to a civilization

01:22:01 --> 01:22:04

to a village to a family they're different

01:22:05 --> 01:22:08

and that's why Sayyidina Ali said قِيمَةَ الْمَرْءِ

01:22:08 --> 01:22:11

فِي مَا يَحْسَنُهُ the value of a man

01:22:11 --> 01:22:15

is in his ihsan what he does well

01:22:17 --> 01:22:20

so he would always يُنَزِّلَ نَسْ مَنَازِلْهُم and

01:22:20 --> 01:22:21

he said i was commanded to do that

01:22:21 --> 01:22:24

he didn't treat scholars the same way he

01:22:24 --> 01:22:27

treated other people this was our prophet ﷺ

01:22:34 --> 01:22:37

whoever saw him suddenly was always taken aback

01:22:37 --> 01:22:40

because he had a haybah but if he

01:22:40 --> 01:22:42

sat with them they would fall in love

01:22:42 --> 01:22:45

and there are many people who came and

01:22:45 --> 01:22:47

they said he was the most odious person

01:22:47 --> 01:22:49

to them because of what they'd heard all

01:22:49 --> 01:22:51

the lies like poor people are people here

01:22:51 --> 01:22:54

many people hate the prophet because they don't

01:22:54 --> 01:22:57

know they heard lies about him they heard

01:22:57 --> 01:23:02

lies really terrible lies too and and so

01:23:02 --> 01:23:04

so once they got to know him they

01:23:04 --> 01:23:08

would love him Safiyyah the jewish she was

01:23:08 --> 01:23:11

the wife of one of the notables when

01:23:11 --> 01:23:14

haybah happened she was taken captive the prophet

01:23:14 --> 01:23:17

sat with her for two hours explaining why

01:23:17 --> 01:23:21

he fought her family and she said he

01:23:21 --> 01:23:25

was the most hated person to me and

01:23:25 --> 01:23:27

after those two hours there was nobody in

01:23:27 --> 01:23:34

this world more beloved to me and and

01:23:34 --> 01:23:36

one day she came to him complaining about

01:23:36 --> 01:23:40

how the women called her a yahudiyah he

01:23:40 --> 01:23:44

said go back tell them my father's Aaron

01:23:44 --> 01:23:52

my uncle's Moses and my husband's Muhammad nothing

01:23:52 --> 01:23:54

to be ashamed of something to be proud

01:23:54 --> 01:23:59

of one of my Mauritanian teachers came here

01:23:59 --> 01:24:01

and we visited this place in new mexico

01:24:01 --> 01:24:03

and there was a jewish man who'd converted

01:24:03 --> 01:24:05

to islam and he treated him so well

01:24:05 --> 01:24:07

i was really amazed he just treat him

01:24:07 --> 01:24:09

so well and one day i just asked

01:24:09 --> 01:24:12

him he said mashallah you're really taken to

01:24:12 --> 01:24:15

mustafa he said had a wali that's what

01:24:15 --> 01:24:16

he told me he said he's a wali

01:24:16 --> 01:24:18

i said how do you know he said

01:24:18 --> 01:24:22

yahudi aslamah he said this so you have

01:24:22 --> 01:24:26

to consider them it's very hard for that

01:24:26 --> 01:24:29

community they were given so much allah gave

01:24:29 --> 01:24:32

them so much he allah gave them continual

01:24:32 --> 01:24:35

prophets what he gave us was continual ulama

01:24:38 --> 01:24:40

see our ulama are like the prophets of

01:24:40 --> 01:24:44

bani israel and those of us who've studied

01:24:44 --> 01:24:47

with them the real ulama not the likes

01:24:47 --> 01:24:51

of you know we're like the real ulama

01:24:51 --> 01:24:53

if you study with marab dar haj anybody

01:24:53 --> 01:24:56

who met him you know you sit with

01:24:56 --> 01:24:58

these people and you know you know that

01:24:58 --> 01:25:02

these people they have miraculous lives the amount

01:25:02 --> 01:25:05

of ibadah they can do the the fact

01:25:05 --> 01:25:07

that they never speak ill of people just

01:25:07 --> 01:25:10

that if you meet anybody that never speaks

01:25:10 --> 01:25:12

ill of people assume they're a wali of

01:25:12 --> 01:25:15

allah because it's a hard thing to do

01:25:16 --> 01:25:19

it's just easy to do it ahmed sarruq

01:25:19 --> 01:25:22

said the most dangerous thing you can ask

01:25:22 --> 01:25:28

anybody is how so and so because he

01:25:28 --> 01:25:33

said it opens the door of backbiting and

01:25:33 --> 01:25:37

he said that imam noah called something like

01:25:37 --> 01:25:38

the ghiba of somebody who has a little

01:25:38 --> 01:25:44

bit of learning poor man may allah guide

01:25:44 --> 01:25:46

him you know he pretends like to have

01:25:46 --> 01:25:52

like compassion for him he always accepted the

01:25:52 --> 01:25:53

excuse of somebody who gave him an excuse

01:25:53 --> 01:25:56

even the people that lied to him he

01:25:56 --> 01:25:59

would always accept it you know when children

01:25:59 --> 01:26:02

under seven you should never assume they're lying

01:26:02 --> 01:26:05

they just live in a magical world where

01:26:05 --> 01:26:06

you say who broke the vase?

01:26:07 --> 01:26:11

i don't know that's a possibility in a

01:26:11 --> 01:26:15

five-year-old's mind right they just they're

01:26:15 --> 01:26:16

not in the age of tamiz so you

01:26:16 --> 01:26:19

have to forgive them but as as you

01:26:19 --> 01:26:21

get older you know people learn how to

01:26:21 --> 01:26:24

lie but your children i would never if

01:26:24 --> 01:26:27

my child told me something i would you

01:26:27 --> 01:26:31

know sometime my wife would say he's not

01:26:31 --> 01:26:32

telling the truth i said no it's impossible

01:26:32 --> 01:26:34

he would never lie to us we're his

01:26:34 --> 01:26:37

parents you know i just always i wanted

01:26:37 --> 01:26:38

them to understand that i couldn't believe they

01:26:38 --> 01:26:41

would lie and that's the way the prophet

01:26:41 --> 01:26:43

sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was he just didn't

01:26:43 --> 01:26:46

he gave people husn al-dhan even though

01:26:46 --> 01:26:48

he knew what they were up to but

01:26:48 --> 01:26:52

he would always do that he would never

01:26:52 --> 01:26:58

let anybody walk behind him he would subhanallah

01:26:58 --> 01:27:00

and he used to say let the angels

01:27:00 --> 01:27:03

walk behind me he wouldn't let them walk

01:27:03 --> 01:27:06

behind him one man there was a servant

01:27:06 --> 01:27:07

who he asked him to get up on

01:27:07 --> 01:27:09

his camel so he could ride with him

01:27:09 --> 01:27:12

he he was too you know he just

01:27:12 --> 01:27:14

couldn't do it and so the prophet said

01:27:14 --> 01:27:16

you go ahead you go ahead to where

01:27:16 --> 01:27:19

you're going don't go behind me so he

01:27:19 --> 01:27:21

wouldn't even go ahead of him he would

01:27:21 --> 01:27:24

never walk faster if an old person was

01:27:24 --> 01:27:26

walking he would never go ahead of them

01:27:26 --> 01:27:30

he would slow down because it old people

01:27:30 --> 01:27:33

it makes them feel old when somebody just

01:27:33 --> 01:27:41

briskly walks by them and on and on

01:27:41 --> 01:27:44

and on there's so many that you you

01:27:44 --> 01:27:46

can go on and and not end but

01:27:46 --> 01:27:48

i will end because all things must come

01:27:48 --> 01:27:50

to an end and and we could never

01:27:50 --> 01:27:54

really fulfill the praises of the prophet sallallahu

01:27:54 --> 01:27:55

alayhi wa sallam but here is what i

01:27:55 --> 01:27:58

want to end with because i think and

01:27:58 --> 01:28:02

this was from uh Marmaduke Piktal he said

01:28:02 --> 01:28:06

something amazing he said of all the qualities

01:28:06 --> 01:28:10

that he saw about the prophet the one

01:28:10 --> 01:28:19

that really struck him most was his

01:28:19 --> 01:28:24

gratitude and this is a man who really

01:28:24 --> 01:28:27

went deep into our religion and i just

01:28:27 --> 01:28:33

thought that was such a beautiful acknowledgement Anas

01:28:33 --> 01:28:37

who served him little boy his mother brought

01:28:37 --> 01:28:39

him she said i want him to be

01:28:39 --> 01:28:43

serve you Anas became a great muhaddith but

01:28:43 --> 01:28:45

Anas said he served me more than i

01:28:45 --> 01:28:53

served him he said he never once said

01:28:53 --> 01:28:58

to me oof once he went in and

01:28:58 --> 01:29:00

he saw Anas he said Anas go do

01:29:00 --> 01:29:01

this and Anas looked at him he said

01:29:01 --> 01:29:07

la and the prophet smiled and left the

01:29:07 --> 01:29:10

room he came back a little while later

01:29:10 --> 01:29:12

he said Anas did you didn't go yet?

01:29:13 --> 01:29:14

and i said i'm going right now ya

01:29:14 --> 01:29:21

rasulallah this is called pattern disruption so the

01:29:21 --> 01:29:24

prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he said this

01:29:24 --> 01:29:26

he forgave the women who prepared for him

01:29:26 --> 01:29:28

a poison meal giving him thereby a painful

01:29:28 --> 01:29:31

illness which which eventually caused his death according

01:29:31 --> 01:29:33

to some narrations but he used to get

01:29:33 --> 01:29:37

headaches from the poison he forgave the ghoulish

01:29:37 --> 01:29:40

and ferocious hind who became a great woman

01:29:41 --> 01:29:44

the wife of Abu Sufyan who devoured she

01:29:44 --> 01:29:46

bit into the liver of his uncle Hamza

01:29:46 --> 01:29:49

and he sat with her he sat with

01:29:49 --> 01:29:54

her he gave her fatwa about her husband

01:29:58 --> 01:30:01

he forgave men and women who had maligned

01:30:01 --> 01:30:03

or betrayed him only for the welfare of

01:30:03 --> 01:30:05

the muslim commonwealth was he severe in punishment

01:30:05 --> 01:30:08

never on his personal account Muhammad was full

01:30:08 --> 01:30:11

of virtues but what has charmed me most

01:30:11 --> 01:30:15

among the virtues of Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa

01:30:15 --> 01:30:20

sallam was his gratitude a very rare ingredient

01:30:20 --> 01:30:29

in the constitution of a great man so

01:30:29 --> 01:30:37

here's what he said when the prophet came

01:30:37 --> 01:30:44

into Mecca and imagine this these Meccans had

01:30:44 --> 01:30:48

fought him this is 20 years they fought

01:30:48 --> 01:30:53

him he comes into Mecca with his head

01:30:53 --> 01:30:57

bowed down that's not the way conquerors come

01:30:57 --> 01:31:01

into to places they've just conquered he came

01:31:01 --> 01:31:03

in with his head bowed down because he

01:31:03 --> 01:31:07

knew he was not the Qahir he knew

01:31:07 --> 01:31:10

who Al-Qahir was he was Abdul Qahir

01:31:11 --> 01:31:17

he was the servant of the conqueror he

01:31:17 --> 01:31:19

braided his hair because he had so many

01:31:19 --> 01:31:23

Bedouin and the Bedouin braided their hair it's

01:31:23 --> 01:31:25

not his sunnah to braid the hair it's

01:31:25 --> 01:31:28

the sunnah of the Bedou but he braided

01:31:28 --> 01:31:30

it in solidarity with them to show them

01:31:39 --> 01:31:42

sometimes he will do something that's makruh in

01:31:42 --> 01:31:44

order to show that it's not haram so

01:31:44 --> 01:31:47

for him it would be like normally it

01:31:47 --> 01:31:49

would be makruh for people who it's not

01:31:49 --> 01:31:52

their culture for the men to braid but

01:31:52 --> 01:31:54

if it's their culture like in the African

01:31:54 --> 01:31:57

-American community it's the it's a it's that's

01:31:57 --> 01:31:59

part of their culture so if they become

01:31:59 --> 01:32:01

Muslim and they wear braids is that's that's

01:32:01 --> 01:32:03

the orf of those people but if it's

01:32:03 --> 01:32:06

not your culture if it's in your culture

01:32:06 --> 01:32:08

it's the women who braids and this why

01:32:08 --> 01:32:11

Islam recognizes orf but he braided he came

01:32:11 --> 01:32:13

in with a black turban that he called

01:32:13 --> 01:32:16

sahab the cloud it was his turban for

01:32:16 --> 01:32:18

jihad usually he wore a white turban but

01:32:18 --> 01:32:20

when he went on jihad he wore the

01:32:20 --> 01:32:27

cloud so so what happens he goes and

01:32:27 --> 01:32:31

Hunayn is an amazing battle when they were

01:32:31 --> 01:32:33

they were all impressed they thought and they

01:32:33 --> 01:32:36

all fled they were fleeing Abu Sufyan was

01:32:36 --> 01:32:40

holding because Abu Sufyan now he was there

01:32:40 --> 01:32:43

with the prophet holding his mule and the

01:32:43 --> 01:32:48

prophet said like he was calling out to

01:32:48 --> 01:32:50

them he rallied them they said had it

01:32:50 --> 01:32:52

not been for him we would not have

01:32:52 --> 01:32:56

come back but he rallied them and so

01:32:56 --> 01:32:58

when they defeated them and then they went

01:32:58 --> 01:33:01

to Taif all of these victories now it

01:33:01 --> 01:33:04

was one after another he had so much

01:33:04 --> 01:33:07

of the spoils of war and so he

01:33:07 --> 01:33:09

gave he started giving his own people all

01:33:09 --> 01:33:11

he gave one man 100 camels another man

01:33:12 --> 01:33:14

and he's giving all these goats and sheep

01:33:14 --> 01:33:18

and camels and the ansar the the youth

01:33:18 --> 01:33:27

from the ansar they're looking at this why

01:33:27 --> 01:33:29

is he giving all those things to them

01:33:30 --> 01:33:34

we've been fighting with him for 10 years

01:33:35 --> 01:33:38

why are they getting all the goods that's

01:33:38 --> 01:33:48

what their youth said so he's

01:33:48 --> 01:33:52

giving these arab tribes that now were were

01:33:52 --> 01:33:56

defeated in fact his even shayma his milk

01:33:56 --> 01:33:59

sister came he didn't recognize her and he

01:33:59 --> 01:34:02

said how do i know your shayma she

01:34:02 --> 01:34:05

showed him a she was mahram for him

01:34:05 --> 01:34:09

so she showed him a bite mark on

01:34:09 --> 01:34:11

his back she said do you remember that

01:34:11 --> 01:34:13

when he was like three years old she

01:34:13 --> 01:34:15

carried him on his back and he bit

01:34:15 --> 01:34:20

her and the blessing of his where he

01:34:20 --> 01:34:23

even walked on rock it would often leave

01:34:23 --> 01:34:28

the footprint so he she had this mark

01:34:28 --> 01:34:30

from the prophet as a child he was

01:34:30 --> 01:34:34

a child he was an infant and he

01:34:34 --> 01:34:37

honored her so he was giving all these

01:34:37 --> 01:34:44

people so the the it said nothing was

01:34:44 --> 01:34:52

given to the ansar they started talking this

01:34:52 --> 01:35:01

is so strange like our

01:35:01 --> 01:35:04

swords have the their blood from fighting these

01:35:04 --> 01:35:07

battles and they haven't done anything for him

01:35:07 --> 01:35:19

they chased him out isn't this tough we

01:35:19 --> 01:35:21

were called to this and yet he's giving

01:35:21 --> 01:35:24

the spoils to other people that didn't they

01:35:24 --> 01:35:27

they were defeated and he's giving them the

01:35:27 --> 01:35:34

spoils if this is what allah has commanded

01:35:35 --> 01:35:40

then we'll be patient but if this is

01:35:40 --> 01:35:45

from his this is just his this is

01:35:45 --> 01:35:47

a khilaf but this is his opinion it's

01:35:47 --> 01:35:52

not wahi then we have some censure here

01:35:52 --> 01:35:54

i mean this but this shows you who

01:35:54 --> 01:35:57

he was he was he was never a

01:35:57 --> 01:35:59

tyrant he was never somebody that forced his

01:35:59 --> 01:36:01

opinions on other people he was somebody that

01:36:01 --> 01:36:04

always allowed people to think for themselves this

01:36:04 --> 01:36:06

is a proof this is not in any

01:36:06 --> 01:36:10

way this is something amazing about his companions

01:36:10 --> 01:36:12

is that they felt they could do this

01:36:14 --> 01:36:18

like at hudwaybiyyah when they came and they

01:36:18 --> 01:36:22

were all didn't you say we were going

01:36:22 --> 01:36:25

to make the umrah he looked at umrah

01:36:25 --> 01:36:32

he said did i say this year abu

01:36:32 --> 01:36:34

bakr was the only one on that day

01:36:34 --> 01:36:37

that didn't falter they all wavered on that

01:36:37 --> 01:36:39

day not with doubt they didn't they these

01:36:39 --> 01:36:41

people were certain but with his like the

01:36:41 --> 01:36:44

ijtihad what they thought the prophet's opinion was

01:36:44 --> 01:36:51

so here he says he's one of the

01:36:51 --> 01:36:56

the great ansar right saad and and and

01:36:56 --> 01:36:58

he goes to the prophet and he tells

01:36:58 --> 01:37:04

them the people are talking ya rasulallah jida

01:37:04 --> 01:37:09

is like means they got they're angry they're

01:37:09 --> 01:37:13

angry about what's happening look what the prophet

01:37:13 --> 01:37:15

sallallahu alayhi wasallam said because of what you

01:37:15 --> 01:37:21

said with the spoils of war you gave

01:37:21 --> 01:37:24

it to your people you gave them all

01:37:24 --> 01:37:36

these gifts nothing for the ansar he doesn't

01:37:36 --> 01:37:43

get angry never perturbed never unsettled what do

01:37:43 --> 01:37:44

you think about that saad?

01:37:44 --> 01:37:45

what's your opinion?

01:37:47 --> 01:37:51

it's just amazing what's your opinion?

01:38:03 --> 01:38:11

i'm one of my people gather your people

01:38:11 --> 01:38:20

for me here in this it was like

01:38:20 --> 01:38:24

a you know a shelter that they put

01:38:24 --> 01:38:26

the arabs they call it the lambar in

01:38:28 --> 01:38:36

Mauritania when they got together saad came to

01:38:36 --> 01:38:43

him and he said the prophet came to

01:38:43 --> 01:38:49

him is there any strangers here?

01:38:50 --> 01:38:51

in other words it's all the ansar?

01:38:56 --> 01:38:59

there's somebody who's a he's related by the

01:38:59 --> 01:39:01

the women's side he's not the qawm in

01:39:01 --> 01:39:08

arabic qawm is only fathers that's why all

01:39:08 --> 01:39:12

of the the prophets in the quran when

01:39:12 --> 01:39:15

they call their people they say but the

01:39:15 --> 01:39:18

isa he says because they weren't his qawm

01:39:20 --> 01:39:22

so he said no we have somebody who's

01:39:22 --> 01:39:26

from the the maternal side and the prophet

01:39:26 --> 01:39:32

famously said in the hadith the maternal side

01:39:32 --> 01:39:34

is part of the qawm in other words

01:39:34 --> 01:39:36

you know in it's it's not they're not

01:39:36 --> 01:39:39

actually qawm but it's the same as the

01:39:39 --> 01:39:49

qawm whoever is not from

01:39:49 --> 01:39:51

the ansar in this room let him go

01:39:51 --> 01:39:55

back to his rahl you know it can

01:39:55 --> 01:39:58

be your home or your the your riding

01:39:58 --> 01:40:07

beast he praised allah what allah is worthy

01:40:07 --> 01:40:14

of praise what's this?

01:40:14 --> 01:40:17

what are these things i'm hearing about you

01:40:17 --> 01:40:24

and this anger that you have that you

01:40:24 --> 01:40:27

have you're angry you're upset with me what

01:40:27 --> 01:40:27

is this?

01:40:27 --> 01:40:29

what's made you upset?

01:40:36 --> 01:40:39

the fuqaha the people that understood this doesn't

01:40:39 --> 01:40:41

mean like the jurists this means the people

01:40:41 --> 01:40:44

that really understood they said as for our

01:40:44 --> 01:40:52

leaders they didn't say anything but these young

01:40:52 --> 01:40:55

these youth it's always the youth you guys

01:40:55 --> 01:41:03

these youth they said may allah forgive the

01:41:03 --> 01:41:13

messenger of allah they leave he gives

01:41:13 --> 01:41:16

the Quraysh and he doesn't give us anything

01:41:16 --> 01:41:18

and our swords still have the blood from

01:41:18 --> 01:41:27

these battles didn't you find weren't you astray

01:41:27 --> 01:41:32

and and then god guided you through me

01:41:35 --> 01:41:39

and you were all divided and allah brought

01:41:39 --> 01:41:44

you together through me weren't you all impoverished

01:41:44 --> 01:41:52

and allah enriched you every time he said

01:41:52 --> 01:41:55

one thing they would say allahu wa rasuluh

01:41:55 --> 01:42:00

amennu wa ahdal men in amongst the arabs

01:42:00 --> 01:42:04

is a negative thing generally only god can

01:42:04 --> 01:42:09

do men so they said men is when

01:42:09 --> 01:42:12

you remind people of your blessings because the

01:42:12 --> 01:42:14

thing about the arabs if they do something

01:42:15 --> 01:42:20

they do it with just either pure generosity

01:42:20 --> 01:42:22

or for the sake of allah in jahiliyyah

01:42:22 --> 01:42:24

they did it because they were generous and

01:42:24 --> 01:42:27

so for them to be mannan to remind

01:42:27 --> 01:42:29

you it was a negative thing for them

01:42:29 --> 01:42:32

because it meant you wanted something there was

01:42:32 --> 01:42:35

an ulterior motive it wasn't generosity and so

01:42:35 --> 01:42:42

they said you have every right to remind

01:42:42 --> 01:42:47

us of these blessings and then he said

01:42:54 --> 01:42:59

but iman that's when the qarit al-arabu

01:42:59 --> 01:43:02

amanna qulla taqulu amanna you know don't say

01:43:02 --> 01:43:09

we believe wa lakin quru aslamna walamma yadkhulil

01:43:09 --> 01:43:13

imanu fi qurubikum right manna allahu alaykum an

01:43:13 --> 01:43:15

hadakum allah is the mannan it's one of

01:43:15 --> 01:43:23

his names so so he says what's preventing

01:43:23 --> 01:43:31

you from answering me are you afraid that

01:43:31 --> 01:43:37

i have done men to you you won't

01:43:37 --> 01:43:42

say to me didn't you come because you

01:43:42 --> 01:43:51

could say you came to us a refugee

01:43:51 --> 01:43:56

and we gave you refuge and you came

01:43:56 --> 01:43:58

out of fear and we gave you safety

01:43:58 --> 01:44:04

and you were completely defeated and we gave

01:44:04 --> 01:44:09

you victory no the men is not for

01:44:09 --> 01:44:19

us it's for you and he said no

01:44:20 --> 01:44:22

you came to us we were in darkness

01:44:22 --> 01:44:24

and allah brought us out of this by

01:44:24 --> 01:44:33

that light so now they're saying no you

01:44:33 --> 01:44:36

found us in that state you saved us

01:44:36 --> 01:44:41

you did all these things for us we're

01:44:41 --> 01:44:44

content with allah as his lord with islam

01:44:44 --> 01:44:49

as the deen with the prophet with muhammad

01:44:49 --> 01:44:57

as the prophet do whatever you want it's

01:44:57 --> 01:45:05

all halal for you by allah had you

01:45:05 --> 01:45:09

said those things to me you would have

01:45:09 --> 01:45:15

told the truth you could have said to

01:45:15 --> 01:45:18

me you were a refugee we gave you

01:45:18 --> 01:45:21

refuge you were poor we helped you you

01:45:21 --> 01:45:23

were in fear we gave you safety he's

01:45:23 --> 01:45:25

telling them you could have said all those

01:45:25 --> 01:45:28

things and you would have told the truth

01:45:29 --> 01:45:32

in other words he's showing his gratitude to

01:45:32 --> 01:45:37

these people he's showing his gratitude to them

01:45:38 --> 01:45:55

and then he said are

01:45:55 --> 01:45:56

you upset?

01:45:57 --> 01:45:59

is what has upset your nufoos?

01:45:59 --> 01:46:05

oh my brother ansar is it this that

01:46:05 --> 01:46:14

the earth is you know when the

01:46:14 --> 01:46:18

first it's the quickest to go when it

01:46:18 --> 01:46:22

comes and then disappears so it's like something

01:46:22 --> 01:46:24

just empty of the world it could also

01:46:24 --> 01:46:27

be the remnant of something so it's like

01:46:27 --> 01:46:29

this little bit of dunya is this what's

01:46:29 --> 01:46:29

troubled you?

01:46:30 --> 01:46:32

this dunya that i've used to bind the

01:46:32 --> 01:46:35

hearts of these people that maybe they'll become

01:46:35 --> 01:46:37

muslim and i left you with your islam

01:46:42 --> 01:46:46

aren't you happy that the people they get

01:46:46 --> 01:46:48

the the goats and the sheep and the

01:46:48 --> 01:46:53

camels and you go back with the messenger

01:46:53 --> 01:47:02

of allah to your homes if it wasn't

01:47:02 --> 01:47:03

for the hijrah i would have been one

01:47:03 --> 01:47:11

of the ansar you're my inner garment the

01:47:11 --> 01:47:20

other people are my outer garment and then

01:47:20 --> 01:47:29

he said if the people went one way

01:47:30 --> 01:47:32

and the ansar went another way i would

01:47:32 --> 01:47:38

go the way the ansar went and then

01:47:38 --> 01:47:49

he said bless

01:47:49 --> 01:47:52

the ansar bless the children of the ansar

01:47:52 --> 01:47:58

and the grandchildren of the ansar they began

01:47:58 --> 01:48:02

to weep until their beards were wet with

01:48:02 --> 01:48:12

tears that's

01:48:12 --> 01:48:16

our messenger i mean he could have said

01:48:16 --> 01:48:19

i'm the prophet of god don't you he

01:48:19 --> 01:48:24

didn't he told them how grateful he was

01:48:30 --> 01:48:33

ibn hajar said that this was like a

01:48:33 --> 01:48:40

merciful father with his children like he was

01:48:40 --> 01:48:43

teaching them but they knew it they got

01:48:43 --> 01:48:45

it right away they just understood it this

01:48:45 --> 01:48:48

is our prophet may allah bless him increase

01:48:48 --> 01:48:54

his daraja with allah may we be people

01:48:54 --> 01:48:57

that honor him always in our homes in

01:48:57 --> 01:49:00

our behavior in our practice you know i

01:49:00 --> 01:49:03

really to all of you the best thing

01:49:03 --> 01:49:05

that we can do to love the prophet

01:49:05 --> 01:49:08

is to follow his sunnah the prophet said

01:49:10 --> 01:49:14

that whoever refuses my sunnah they're refusing paradise

01:49:16 --> 01:49:18

so he's our he's the door that allah

01:49:18 --> 01:49:21

has given us he's the threshold his sunnah

01:49:21 --> 01:49:24

is the quran it's the khuluq of the

01:49:24 --> 01:49:26

quran this is what our ummah needs it

01:49:26 --> 01:49:29

needs to restore the khuluq of this religion

01:49:32 --> 01:49:35

read the quran study the quran learn the

01:49:35 --> 01:49:40

prophet learn his sirah learn his sunnah do

01:49:40 --> 01:49:42

those practice these things that he told us

01:49:42 --> 01:49:44

to practice try to get up at night

01:49:44 --> 01:49:47

it's it's not easy the thing about the

01:49:47 --> 01:49:50

medicinal things is they're not always there it's

01:49:50 --> 01:49:52

bitter sometimes medicine but you have to take

01:49:52 --> 01:49:56

it because everything he did was medicinal it's

01:49:56 --> 01:49:57

to heal our hearts it's to heal our

01:49:57 --> 01:50:00

souls it's to heal our mental states he

01:50:00 --> 01:50:03

is the healing he's the shifa he is

01:50:03 --> 01:50:08

the shifa he's the lights the quran this

01:50:08 --> 01:50:11

light that's come from you it's and this

01:50:11 --> 01:50:14

manifest book his nur is the nur that

01:50:14 --> 01:50:18

you read the book with when you have

01:50:18 --> 01:50:20

to have light to read a book you

01:50:20 --> 01:50:22

can't read a book in darkness the quran

01:50:22 --> 01:50:24

the light that you read the quran with

01:50:24 --> 01:50:28

is his sunnah and everything will become clear

01:50:28 --> 01:50:30

may allah bless all of you increase you

01:50:30 --> 01:50:33

elevate you inshallah may allah subhanahu wa ta

01:50:33 --> 01:50:34

'ala forgive us all our shortcomings may allah

01:50:34 --> 01:50:37

bless our brothers and sisters wherever they are

01:50:37 --> 01:50:39

all these people in so many places there

01:50:39 --> 01:50:41

are many places we have we have the

01:50:41 --> 01:50:45

kashmiris it hasn't changed for them these people

01:50:45 --> 01:50:48

in kashmir the uighurs there are still people

01:50:48 --> 01:50:53

in these camps the rohingyas so many places

01:50:53 --> 01:50:56

and i mean first and foremost right now

01:50:56 --> 01:50:59

obviously because this this the terror that has

01:50:59 --> 01:51:02

been inflicted on these people most are women

01:51:02 --> 01:51:04

and children may allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

01:51:04 --> 01:51:08

just give them solace they have shown what

01:51:08 --> 01:51:12

faith is in a faithless world they've shown

01:51:12 --> 01:51:15

people what faith these people that are saying

01:51:15 --> 01:51:22

in the midst of rubble subhanallah that's a

01:51:22 --> 01:51:24

deep well they're drawing from that's the well

01:51:24 --> 01:51:27

of the iman of this ummah when the

01:51:27 --> 01:51:34

mongols came and wiped out whole peoples athiruddin

01:51:34 --> 01:51:38

said there's been no greater tribulation than the

01:51:38 --> 01:51:45

mongols he didn't know the europeans yet but

01:51:45 --> 01:51:48

but uh the muslims survived it and they

01:51:48 --> 01:51:51

were strong when i was translating the hamsiyah

01:51:51 --> 01:51:53

i had to study that period of history

01:51:55 --> 01:52:01

imam abu sayyidi saw al-quds under the

01:52:01 --> 01:52:04

control of the salivis they actually put a

01:52:04 --> 01:52:06

cross on the temple mount on the uh

01:52:06 --> 01:52:09

on the sharaf the haram sharif on on

01:52:09 --> 01:52:12

the uh the what was traditionally called masjid

01:52:12 --> 01:52:16

dawud because ka'b al-ahbar showed sayyidina

01:52:16 --> 01:52:19

umar where the masjid was because that place

01:52:19 --> 01:52:22

is where dawud prayed which is now where

01:52:22 --> 01:52:23

the dome of the rock is they put

01:52:23 --> 01:52:25

a salib on the dome of the rock

01:52:25 --> 01:52:30

on the haram sharif this sacred sanctuary 190

01:52:30 --> 01:52:34

years so this has happened in the past

01:52:34 --> 01:52:38

but the muslims it didn't give them doubt

01:52:38 --> 01:52:41

it had the opposite effect and and i'll

01:52:41 --> 01:52:43

just give you one qaeda from ahmed zarok

01:52:43 --> 01:52:44

and i hope you go home with this

01:52:44 --> 01:52:47

and think about it ahmed zarok said in

01:52:47 --> 01:52:51

times of bast the response is dhikr allah

01:52:51 --> 01:52:54

but in times of qabal the response is

01:52:54 --> 01:52:58

fikr that when you're in expansive times it's

01:52:58 --> 01:53:01

time for dhikr but when you're in difficult

01:53:01 --> 01:53:04

times it's time for thinking because you have

01:53:04 --> 01:53:07

to understand why the times are difficult and

01:53:07 --> 01:53:09

then you have to work to get out

01:53:09 --> 01:53:12

of those difficult times and that's why we

01:53:12 --> 01:53:15

need dhikr may allah make us people of

01:53:15 --> 01:53:17

intelligence may allah subhanahu wa ta'ala unite

01:53:17 --> 01:53:19

the hearts may allah bless all of you

01:53:19 --> 01:53:20

may allah subhanahu wa ta'ala give us

01:53:20 --> 01:53:21

love of our prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

01:53:21 --> 01:53:23

in our hearts may allah subhanahu wa ta

01:53:23 --> 01:53:25

'ala give the people of palestine solace in

01:53:25 --> 01:53:29

these times increase them elevate them give them

01:53:29 --> 01:53:32

inshallah the patience to endure any hardships that

01:53:32 --> 01:53:35

might be coming inshallah may allah subhanahu wa

01:53:35 --> 01:53:38

ta'ala inshallah give all send all of

01:53:38 --> 01:53:41

the whatever is meant to harm may it

01:53:41 --> 01:53:45

be thwarted and may allah subhanahu wa ta

01:53:45 --> 01:53:48

'ala put peace in our hearts put peace

01:53:48 --> 01:53:51

in the world may we be people of

01:53:51 --> 01:53:54

peace and inspirators of peace people of salam

01:53:54 --> 01:53:57

allahumma anta salam wa minka salam wa ilayka

01:53:57 --> 01:54:01

ya'ud salam hayyina rabbana bi salam that's

01:54:01 --> 01:54:03

the dua of our prophet make us live

01:54:03 --> 01:54:07

in peace the only people that want war

01:54:07 --> 01:54:10

are warmongers so our prophet was a peacemaker

01:54:11 --> 01:54:13

may we become people of peace in our

01:54:13 --> 01:54:16

hearts in our homes in our families inshallah

01:54:16 --> 01:54:18
