Fariq Naik – Why Do We Need Religion

Assalamualaikum My name is Salma, sub czar from India, Kashmir. My

question is why do we need religion? First let us understand

what is the meaning of the word religion. Religion, according to

the Oxford Dictionary means a belief in a superhuman controlling

power, a personal God or gods that deserve worship and obedience. In

short, Religion means belief in God. Now, why do we need religion?

Almighty God, He knows what is good for us and He knows what is

bad for us, the best one to tell us how to go on or lead our lives.

It is a Creator Allah subhanaw taala. For us, we need to

recognize our Creator Allah subhanaw taala and the best

definition that anyone can give regarding Allah subhanaw taala it

the life of this world, and at the same time, we should know the

mere religion. It is not only a religion, but rather it is a deed.

It is a complete way of life. And the only religion acceptable in

And if we want to have success in the afterlife, then we need to

to give you an example, if an individual wants to drive a car,

in any country on the public roads, he needs to follow the

rules and regulations if he sees the red light, he should not move

forward, but rather he should stop if he sees the red light and if he

breaks the signal, and there are several cars that are present. And

if he's at a junction or at a crossroad, there are high chances

that it could lead to an accident. So why does the government lay

down traffic rules and regulations, so that people when

they drive a car, it is smooth and it does not leave lead to

accidents, we should follow the speed limit. And individuals

should not cross the speed limit why? Because the if a person

breaks the rules, there are high chances of accidents taking place.

And for example, in certain countries, it is left hand drive

in certain countries it is right hand drive. So the countries they

have their own rules and regulations and the government,

they lay down taxes for the citizens that they should pay the

taxes. And there are various other rules and regulation that the

government lays down. And the government says that we should not

draw we should not *. Why because all of these crimes, they

disrupt the society. And this is precisely the reason why we have

the police that sometimes needs to use force so that justice and

peace will prevail in the country. Similarly, there are certain

people who do not follow the rules.

and regulations and they commit crimes. Therefore these people

need to be penalized by the police. And those people who do

not follow the commandments of Allah subhanaw taala some of them

received their punishment in the life of this world, while others

will receive the punishment in the afterlife. Therefore following the

for us and what is bad for us. So the reason we need a religion is

so that we can count on our life so that we can lead our lives

good, then why should we follow Islam? Islam besides teaching

good, it shows us a practical way how to achieve the state of

goodness. For example, all religions basically say that we

should not rob Islam says that Christianity says that Hinduism

says then what is the difference between Islam and the other

religion, Islam besides telling us that we should not rob it shows us

a practical way in which people will not drop. In Islam we have a

system of circa every rich person who has a savings of more than the

sub level, he should give 2.5% of receiving Avalonian charity. If

every rich man give charity, poverty will eradicate from the

swirl, there will not be a single human being who will die of

hunger. And after that if any man robs chopping of the hands,

certain people might say chopping up the hands in the 21st century.

Islam is a barbaric religion. Islam is a ruthless religion,

America happening to be one of the most advanced countries in the

world. It has the highest rate of crime and theft. I'm asking the

question that implement the Islamic Sharia that this person

should give 2.5% of a saving every loony and charity. And after that,

If any man robbed shopping of the hand, I'm asking the question that

will the rate of robbery in America will it increase? will it

remain the same? Or will the decrease but naturally it will

decrease. You implement the Sharia and you get results. Therefore the

Islamic sharia is a practical law. And Almighty God knows what is

good for us and what is bad for us. So Islam is not merely just a

religion, but rather it is a way of life, Almighty God he has

showed us the spiritual aspect as well as other things, how we

should live our life, the way we should walk the way we should talk

the way we should behave with others, the way we should behave

with our neighbors, the way we should eat all of these things

related to our life. It is mentioned in Islam and our beloved

Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. He has showed us the way so

therefore we should lead our life in accordance to the Glorious

Quran and the authentic teachings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad,

peace and blessings be upon him. And we should do more of good

deeds, more of righteous deeds so that in the afterlife we will be

from among the successful human beings
