Fariq Naik – What If I Cannot Fast due to Pulmonary Hypertension

Assalamualaikum My name is Mrs. sunblind from Tanzania. I have two

questions. The first is I have been fasting for many years. But

since the last two years, I can't fast and I feel very uneasy as I

have pulmonary hypertension, wherein I need to take medication

every for us. What should I do? The second question is what is the

best repentance dua that I can make for my sins. As far as

fasting in the month of Ramadan is concerned, we all know that it is

compulsory for us to fast in the month of Ramadan, but certain

people who are sick and they're unable to fast in the month of

Ramadan, because of health issues, then they need to make up for the

Miss fast. And Allah subhanaw taala says in the Glorious Quran

in surah Baqarah Chapter number two that whosoever amongst you a

determine am whosoever amongst you sick or his traveling, then he

should make up for the fast later on. So if a person is sick, and

because of his health issues, he is unable to fast he needs to make

up for the Miss fast later on after the month of Ramadan when

he's healthy. Or if a person is traveling he's exempted from

fasting, certain people who have a terminal illness and they have no

hope of recovery. So what should such a person do? Allah subhanaw

And as for the one who has a terminal illness referring to the

old people, then they need to feed one poor person for every missed

PFASs. Now, as far as your medical issue regarding pulmonary

hypertension is concerned, you should see to it that if you can

fast the month of Ramadan, you should try to fast in the month of

Ramadan. And if you're unable to fast, then you should make up for

it later on. Now, as far as pulmonary hypertension is

concerned, what is pulmonary hypertension? Pulmonary

Hypertension is where in the pressure in the blood vessels

leading from the heart to the lungs, it is very high. And this

results in the left side of the heart muscle becoming weak and

which results in the left side of the heart muscle being unable to

pump blood and oxygen to the body effectively.

It is a serious medical condition. In many instances, this is a

serious medical condition. So if you can fasten the mantle from

God, this is the best and what I would request you to do is that to

ask your doctor that if it is possible to take the medication

before so hold ad after Iftar or during the night during the non

fasting us or you can ask your doctor if it is possible to take a

heavier dose before suhoor or after you break your fast. So in

this way, you would fast the month of Ramadan and it is only a matter

of one month you should explain to your doctor the importance of

fasting in the month of Ramadan and tell your doctor it is only a

matter of one month. And if you have a solution wherein you can

take your medication before school or after Iftar This is the best if

you need to take your medication every four hours. Then in this

situation. If your situation is severe, then you are exempted from

fasting, but more mental health is fine. After the month of Ramadan,

you need to make up for the most fast if your illness is a terminal

illness and you have no hope of recovery that in this situation.

You need to feed one poor person for every day of as fast as I

mentioned, as Allah subhanaw taala says in Surah Baqarah Chapter

number two was number 184 while in Medina ut Hakuna Ophelia

illness, they need to feed a poor person for every missed fast and

as far as feeding a poor person is concerned, there are basically

three ways the first is that you call the poor person to your

house. The second is that you give the poor person cooked food and

the third is that you give the poor person raw food. So in this

way, inshallah it is good for you. But I would request you that to

try to find a way out and fast the month of Ramadan by taking

medication before before or after Iftar but if you have a terminal

illness, inshallah you're exempted from fasting but every misfiles

during the month of Ramadan, you need to feed a poor person. This

was the response to your first question.

I'm into your second question, what is the best dua, repentance

dua that you can ask from Allah subhanho wa taala. There are

several dua that are mentioned in the Glorious Quran and authentic

hadith so our beloved Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be

upon Allah subhanaw taala says the Glorious Quran in surah Al Imran

Chapter Three was number 147

duties to you. And Allah subhanaw taala also mentioned another

divine sutra chapter 23 Regarding forgiveness, so we should turn to

Allah subhanahu wa taala and ask forgiveness from Allah subhanaw

can do during the last nights of Ramadan? And our beloved Prophet

so please forgive me. This is one of the best words that we can

recite as far as repentance from Allah subhanho wa Taala is

concerned. Besides this, we can also decide a bit fiddly Oh my

Lord forgive me. And besides this, you can also decide a Stubblefield

turn to you and repentance. So there are several dua there are

several supplication that we can do to Allah subhanho wa taala. As

concerned, our beloved Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be

upon us to ask forgiveness from Allah subhanaw taala no less than

100 times a day. How many times do we ask forgiveness from Allah

subhanho wa taala. So, the more returned to Allah subhanaw taala

the more Allah subhanho wa Taala he loves it. And whenever,

wherever we are, we should constantly keep reciting as

are in the car, whether we are at work constantly, we can keep

is concerned, there are four criteria of repentance. The first

is that we need to stop the act immediately. The second is that we

need to ask forgiveness from Allah subhanaw taala for that particular

act. The third is that if we can repay it, we should repay it back

for example, if you've robbed something from someone, we should

return it back to him. And the fourth is that we should make a

strong resolution that we will not do that sin again. These are four

criteria of repentance, and if we are sincere repentance from Allah

subhanaw taala Allah subhanaw taala he will Inshallah, forgive

us one of the best times to do dua, and to ask for repentance

from Allah subhanaw taala. It is during the touch of prayer, it is

during the night prayer during the last 1/3 of the night. This is the

crucial time and I would request the brothers and sisters that to

make it a regular habit that to offer the night prayer that

touches prayer, especially during the last 1/3 of the night. And if

we ask forgiveness from Allah subhanaw taala during this time in

sha Allah, Allah dua in sha Allah as applications, it will be

answered by Allah subhanho wa taala. So I hope that answers your
