Fariq Naik – Is It Permissible to Add Music to my Videos

I'm Yazdan

studying in Jami'amilia

Islamia.

I'm from Bihar, and I have a YouTube

channel.

On this YouTube channel, I post edited video

clips related to

sports. In the edited video clips,

I use some music to make the videos

better. Is it allowed that I use music

in my videos?

What should I do? Should I delete the

videos for my channel?

As far as music is concerned,

there are hadith or abilar prophet Muhammad, peace

be upon him, which

prohibit

the use of music or in fact even

listening to music. Abilar prophet Muhammad, peace be

upon him, said and this hadith mentions that

there will be people from among my ummah.

They'll make things that are haram. They will

make it halal. And from among that, it

is silk

and

alcohol

and musical instruments.

So the use of musical instruments as per

the teachings of Islam, it is haram. It

is prohibited. The only exception, it is the

one-sided duff.

Besides this, all other musical instruments, their haram,

whether they be listening to musical instrument, music

songs which contain music, or whether it be

playing musical instruments.

Unfortunately, we see that many of the Muslims,

they make certain videos which have music in

it. We see certain

Muslims. They have songs. The words are very

good. They are talking about Allah subhanahu wa

ta'ala. They're talking about the teachings of Islam,

but it contains music. Again, this is haram.

This is against the teachings of Islam.

So whatever videos you're editing, what I would

request you is that to keep music away

from it. Keep these edited videos free from

music. What you can do, you have alternatives.

You can use the one-sided duff.

You can use

human voice. You can use natural sounds.

For example,

the sound

of waves,

the sound of water.

Like even in this recording, we are using

the sound of water

and you can use other sound effects as

well. For example, the chopping of birds, Islamic

sound effects. There is no problem.

And the videos that you have edited, if

it contains musics,

see to it that you remove the music

from these videos. If you cannot remove the

music, then you see to it

that you delete these videos from your channel.

So when you're editing videos, see to it

that it's free from music. You can use

human voice, one-sided DAW,

other sound effects.

But see to it that it is free

from

music.
