Today, I would like to introduce you to
a new technology, which is called the 3D
printer.
As-salamu
alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
Bismillah wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
Wa salamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
Alhamdulillahi wa barakatuh.
We have the privilege of being the president
of Jekyll and Hyde which is the sign
of renowned speaker Dr. Zachary Blake.
Today, I want to take the opportunity to
be delivered by him.
I think this is a very great opportunity
for us to be in his presence and
share in his sermon, inshallah.
Let me be more focused on the sermon.
And I want to introduce a little bit
about our subject today.
The term of Sheikh Barek Naid became the
habit of the Qur'an at age 13
and started publicly speaking at age 8.
By 15, he was the youngest speaker at
the International Islamic Dialogue Conference in 2009.
Sheikh Barek holds a bachelor's degree in Sharia
from Imam Muhammad Ibn Nusra University in Siberia
and is completing his master's in field from
the International Islamic University of Malaysia.
He regularly appears on his TV hosting programs
like Teen Star and Ask Sheikh Barek while
actively assisting his mother in government activities worldwide.
Therefore, inshallah, today, let us all ask Sheikh
Barek what the path that he will be
delivering by him.
The importance of understanding the Glorious Qur'an.
The Glorious Qur'an, it is the last
and final revelation of Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala, which was revealed to the last and
final messenger, Prophet Muhammad, may peace and blessings
be upon him.
The Glorious Qur'an, it is the most
positive book in the world.
It is a proclamation for humanity.
It is a fountain of mercy and wisdom.
It is a guide to the error, a
solace to the suffering, an assurance to those
in doubt and a hope to those in
despair.
How is it possible to derive all of
these benefits of the Glorious Qur'an if
we do not read the Glorious Qur'an
with understanding, if we do not understand the
meaning of the Glorious Qur'an, if we
do not implement on the message of the
Glorious Qur'an?
Alhamdulillah, the Glorious Qur'an, it is the
most widely read book in the world.
But at the same time, unfortunately, the Glorious
Qur'an, it is the most widely read
book without understanding.
Because of this, the benefit that the Muslims
derive from the Glorious Qur'an, it has
decreased.
The touch, the contact of the Muslims with
the Glorious Qur'an, it has declined.
What a tragic misfortune for a person who
comes to the Glorious Qur'an and returns
empty handed.
Heart untouched, soul unmoved, life unchanged.
What a tragic misfortune.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says in the
Glorious Qur'an, in Surah Ta'ala Imran,
chapter number 3, verse number 110.
كُنْتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ You are the
best of people evolved for mankind.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, He is giving
us an honor by calling us Muslims as
Khaira Ummah.
That is the best of people.
And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala continues and
says, تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ
بِاللَّهِ Because you enjoin what is right and
you forbid what is wrong and you believe
in Allah.
How can we enjoin what is right and
forbid what is wrong if we do not
read the Glorious Qur'an with understanding?
If we do not understand the meaning of
the Glorious Qur'an.
Therefore, if we want to enjoin what is
right and if we want to forbid what
is wrong, we need to understand the message
of the Glorious Qur'an.
We need to read the Glorious Qur'an
with understanding.
What is the meaning of the word Qur
'an?
The word Qur'an, it comes from the
root word Iqra, which means to read.
It also means to recite and it also
means to proclaim.
How will we proclaim the message of the
glorious Qur'an if we do not understand
the message of the glorious Qur'an?
Another word that is used for the glorious
Qur'an or a title, it is Al
-Furqan.
The glorious Qur'an, it is called as
the Furqan, the criterion to judge between right
and wrong.
How can we use the glorious Qur'an
as a Furqan, as a criterion to judge
between right and wrong if we do not
understand the message of the glorious Qur'an?
Therefore, it is very important that we understand
the message of the glorious Qur'an.
It is very important that we read the
glorious Qur'an with understanding.
There are various excuses given by the Muslims
for not reading the glorious Qur'an.
And in fact, many give excuses for not
reading the glorious Qur'an with understanding as
well.
The most common excuse given by many Muslims
for not reading the glorious Qur'an is
that we do not know Arabic as a
language.
The population of the world, it is approximately
8 billion, out of which 25% of
the world population are Muslims, at least 2
billion.
Out of these 2 billion, approximately 15%
are Arabs.
And there are very few non-Arabs who
understand Arabic as a language.
So, at least 80% of the Muslims,
they do not understand Arabic as a language.
So the most common excuse given by the
Muslims for not reading the glorious Qur'an
or for not reading the glorious Qur'an
with understanding is that they do not know
Arabic as a language.
This is the most common excuse.
The Muslims, they say we do not know
Arabic as a language, that is the reason
they do not want to read the glorious
Qur'an.
And age is never a barrier in order
to learn Arabic as a language.
The best way to understand the glorious Qur
'an is to learn Arabic as a language.
And age is never a barrier.
And that reminds me of the example of
Dr. Morris Bukhail.
And when a human being, he is born,
initially he does not know any language.
The first language that he learns, it is
his mother tongue.
And then later on, he learns the language
of the society, of the community around him.
Later on, he may learn the language in
which he is educated.
So almost all the human beings, they at
least know 2 to 3 languages.
Some may know 4 languages, some may know
5 languages, some may be linguists, they may
know 7 languages, some may know more than
7 languages.
But almost all human beings, they at least
know 2 or 3 languages.
Don't you think it is important that we
know the language of our creator Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala?
Don't you think it is important to learn
Arabic as a language in order to understand
the glorious Qur'an?
And age is never a barrier.
And that reminds me of the example of
Dr. Morris Bukhail.
Dr. Morris Bukhail, he was a famous surgeon
and scientist who received the French Academy Award
in the field of medicine.
Now Dr. Morris Bukhail, he was chosen and
he was selected to do a research on
the mummy of Manapta, that is the mummy
of Pharaoh.
And he being a Christian, he read regarding
the story of Pharaoh, regarding the story of
Pharaoh, that Pharaoh followed Moses peace be upon
him and Moses peace be upon him parted
the sea and after Moses peace be upon
him crossed the sea, Pharaoh and his army,
they followed Moses peace be upon him, Musa
alaihi salam and the sea returned back to
its original position and Pharaoh and his army
they drowned.
So he was aware about this story, he
had read it in the Bible.
But when he went to Saudi Arabia, he
was informed that it is mentioned in the
glorious Qur'an regarding the story of Pharaoh
and this is mentioned in the glorious Qur
'an in Surah Yunus chapter number 10, verse
number 92, that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
he will preserve the body of Pharaoh, he
will preserve the body of Pharaoh as a
sign for the people.
Dr. Morris Bukhail, he being a scientist, he
was shocked that a book mentions regarding this
1400 years ago that Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala will preserve the body of Pharaoh.
He was shocked.
And because of this, he was encouraged to
read the translation of the glorious Qur'an.
So he reads the translation of the glorious
Qur'an and in order to understand the
glorious Qur'an better, at the age of
50, he learns Arabic as a language.
Imagine a non-Muslim, a Christian at the
age of 50 in order to understand the
glorious Qur'an better, he learns Arabic as
a language.
And later on, he says regarding the glorious
Qur'an that the scientific points that are
mentioned in the glorious Qur'an, they are
in perfect conformity with modern science.
And the things that are mentioned in the
Bible, many of these things, they contradict or
they are not in conformity with modern science.
And later on, he writes a book, the
Bible, the Qur'an and Science, and this
book, it becomes very famous.
The point to be noted here is that
Dr. Morris Bukhail, being a non-Muslim, being
a Christian at the age of 50, he
learns Arabic as a language in order to
understand the glorious Qur'an better.
So age is never a barrier.
I do agree that every Muslim will not
be as enthusiastic as Dr. Morris Bukhail.
But if you do not know Arabic as
a language, you should at least read the
translation of the glorious Qur'an in the
language you understand the best.
And Maulana Abdul Majid Daryabadi, he rightly says
that the glorious Qur'an, it is the
most untranslatable book on the face of the
earth.
Because the eloquence of the glorious Qur'an,
the language of the glorious Qur'an, it
is so high that it is very difficult
to translate the glorious Qur'an.
Yet scholars have spent years in translating the
glorious Qur'an into major languages of the
world.
Every translation, but naturally it is prone to
error.
It is translated by human.
So there are bound to be errors in
the translation.
The Arabic text, the original Arabic text, it
is the word of Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala.
So the best is to learn Arabic as
a language in order to understand the glorious
Qur'an.
If you do not know Arabic as a
language, you should at least read the translation
of the glorious Qur'an in the language
you understand the best so that you will
at least have an idea of the basic
message of the glorious Qur'an.
So unfortunately, Muslims, they give several excuses for
not reading the glorious Qur'an.
From among the other excuses that Muslims give
for not reading the glorious Qur'an is
the Muslims say that we are very busy.
We are busy studying in universities, in schools,
in colleges.
We are busy with our jobs.
We are busy with work.
Therefore, we do not find time to read
the glorious Qur'an.
To read the glorious Qur'an with understanding.
Several students, they spend years in order to
achieve a degree, in order to be a
graduate or a postgraduate.
And many a times, we know that these
graduates and postgraduates, they are jobless.
There are many graduates and postgraduates who do
not have a job.
So the knowledge that you acquire in this
world, the worldly knowledge, it may or may
not benefit you in this world.
And if it does not get you closer
towards Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, then it
is useless in the Akhira.
So many people, many students, they want to
spend years in memorizing books, in studying for
worldly knowledge, but they do not have time
to recite or to read the glorious Qur
'an with understanding.
It's a tragic misfortune.
Abdullah Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him said
that the one who recites the glorious Qur
'an in less than three days, he has
not understood it.
So minimum three days is required in order
to understand the glorious Qur'an.
And if you recite or if you read
one juz' a day, then it will take
you 30 days in order to complete the
glorious Qur'an.
So we should see to that we find
time and we should see to that on
a daily basis, we read the glorious Qur
'an with understanding.
And if we read the glorious Qur'an
with understanding, we will see a drastic change
in our lives.
We will find peace, tranquility and satisfaction in
our lives.
We will find ultimate happiness in our lives.
So I would request all the brothers that
make it a point that you take out
some time, at least a few minutes daily
in order to read the glorious Qur'an
with understanding so that it will benefit you
in this world as well as in the
hereafter.
There are other excuses as well that are
given by Muslims for not reading the glorious
Qur'an.
Many Muslims, they say that you know the
glorious Qur'an, it is only meant for
the alims.
It is only meant for the scholars.
We as lay human beings cannot understand the
message of the glorious Qur'an.
That's the reason they do not want to
read the glorious Qur'an.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says in the
glorious Qur'an surah al-Qamar chapter 54,
verse number 17, 22, 32 and 14.
And we have made the glorious Qur'an
easy to understand and remember.
Then is there any that will receive admonition?
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has made the
glorious Qur'an easy to understand and to
remember.
And if you do not understand anything from
the glorious Qur'an, what does Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala says?
What does Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala say?
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says in the
glorious Qur'an surah al-Nahl chapter 16,
verse number 43, فَاسْأَلُوا أَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ إِن كُنْتُمْ
لَا تَعْلَمُونَ That if you do not know,
ask the person who knows.
So for example, if you want to ask
something related to medicine, will you go to
a cobbler?
Will you go to a butcher?
But naturally you will go to a doctor
who is an expert in the field of
medicine.
If you want to know something regarding engineering,
you will go to an engineer.
Similarly, if you want to know something related
to the glorious Qur'an, regarding the tafsir
of the glorious Qur'an, you will go
to a mufassir.
You will go to a person who is
an expert as far as tafsir is concerned.
So Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has made
the glorious Qur'an easy to understand and
to remember.
But unfortunately, many Muslims do not want to
take the effort of reading the glorious Qur
'an, of understanding the meaning of the glorious
Qur'an.
And unfortunately, many Muslims, they sit on the
glorious Qur'an like a cobra.
They sit on the glorious Qur'an like
a cobra.
Neither do they want to read it, neither
do they want to give it to others.
Many Muslims say that, you know, the non
-Muslims should not be given the glorious Qur
'an.
And they quote the verse of the glorious
Qur'an from Surah Al-Waqi'ah, chapter
56, verse number 77 to 80.
None shall touch it except those who are
pure.
Unfortunately, many Muslims do not know the reason
why this verse was revealed.
And what is the context?
The Quraysh, the kuffar at the time of
our beloved Prophet Muhammad, may peace and blessings
be upon him, they accused that the glorious
Qur'an, the verse of the glorious Qur
'an, they are from the Shaytan.
They are from the devil.
So Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala revealed this
verse, saying that none shall touch it except
those who are pure.
Referring to the verse of the glorious Qur
'an, referring to the Lawham Mahfuz, which is
with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, which is
protected by the angels.
And the cross-reference of this is mentioned
in Surah Al-Buruj, chapter 85, verse number
21 and 22.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says, بَلْ هُوَ
قُرْآنٌ مَجِيدٌ فِي لَوْحٍ مَحْفُوظٌ Indeed, it is
the glorious Qur'an, which is well preserved
in Lawham Mahfuz.
So this verse of the glorious Qur'an,
لا يَمَسُّوا إِلَّا الْمُطَهَّرُونَ It does not only
refer to the bodily cleanliness, but it also
refers to the spiritual cleanliness, the cleanliness of
the heart, the cleanliness of the body, the
cleanliness of the soul, which refers to the
angels.
That none shall touch the Qur'an that
is present in Lawham Mahfuz, except those who
are pure, referring to the angels.
The angels, they are pure, and they are
protecting the glorious Qur'an.
It does not refer to the normal Mus
'haf that we have.
If it was so, then any Muslim, any
non-Muslim, could purchase a copy of the
glorious Qur'an, and he would touch it,
and the glorious Qur'an would have been
proved wrong.
But it refers to Lawham Mahfuz, that is
well preserved with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
And our beloved Prophet Muhammad, may peace and
blessings be upon him, he sent letters to
various kings of the world.
For example, to Nagis of Abyssinia, and to
the Emperor of Persia, to Heraclius, and several
others.
And on these letters, verses of the glorious
Qur'an were written in Arabic.
Many of the kings, they tore these letters,
they trampled it underneath their feet.
So we should see that we share the
message of Islam with the non-Muslims.
Give the non-Muslims a copy of the
glorious Qur'an, because the glorious Qur'an
is a guidance for the whole of humanity.
As it is mentioned in several places in
the glorious Qur'an, Surah Al-Ibrahim chapter
14, verse number 1, in Surah Al-Baqarah
chapter 2, verse number 185, as well as
in Surah Az-Zumar chapter number 39.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says that the
glorious Qur'an, it is meant for the
whole of humanity.
It is a guidance for the whole of
humanity.
So I request all the brothers that see
to it, that we read the glorious Qur
'an with understanding and try our level best
to implement the message of the glorious Qur
'an.
We pray to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
that may He give us the best in
this world, as well as the best in
the hereafter.
And may He save us from the torment,
from the punishment of the hellfire.
And may He grant all of us guidance
and may He have mercy upon all of
us and the entire Muslim Ummah.
May He bless this land of Malaysia and
especially this city of Perlis.
And may He also bless the Raja Muda
of Perlis, Tuanku Sayyid Faizuddin Putra Ibn Tuanku
Sayyid Sirajuddin Jamaluddin, as well as the members
of the royal family, the Raja Muda of
Perlis and the Raja of Perlis, that is
Tuanku Sayyid Sirajuddin Ibn al-Marhum, Tuanku Sayyid
Putra Jamaluddin.
And may Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala bless
all the people of Malaysia.
May Allah grant us good in this world
and good in the hereafter.
And may He save us from the torment
of the hellfire.
May Allah forgive us our sins and forgive
us our sins.
And grant us death with the righteous.
And may Allah grant us what You promised
to Your messengers.
And may You not disgrace us on the
Day of Resurrection.
Indeed, You do not break Your promise.
And may You gather the people for a
Day in which there is no doubt.
Indeed, Allah does not break His promise.
O Allah, correct the situation of the Muslims
everywhere.
O Allah, help our brothers the oppressed and
the oppressed in Palestine.
O Allah, be with our brothers in Rafah
and in Gaza.
O Allah, support them and help them.
O Allah, have mercy on their martyrs and
heal their wounds.
O Allah, feed their hungry.
O Allah, take care of the righteous Jews.
Indeed, they do not save You.
O Allah, destroy them.
O Allah, show us in them the wonders
of Your power, O Lord of the worlds.
O Allah, do not raise a banner for
them.
And do not achieve a goal for them.
And make them a lesson and a sign
for the worlds.
O Allah, correct the situation of the Muslims
everywhere.
O Allah, correct the situation of the Muslims
in Sudan, in Yemen, and in the rest
of the Muslim countries, O Lord of the
worlds.
O Allah, correct the situation of the Muslims
in China, in India, and everywhere, O Lord
of the worlds.
O Allah, make this country, Malaysia, a safe,
peaceful, and prosperous country.
And the rest of the Muslim countries, O
Lord of the worlds.
For Your mercy, O Merciful.
I say this, and I ask Allah to
forgive me and you, and the rest of
the Muslims.
So ask His forgiveness, He is the Merciful.
Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of
Glory, above what they describe.
And peace be upon the messengers.
And the last of our supplications is that
all praise be to Allah, Lord of the
worlds.
And stand up for your prayer, may Allah
have mercy on you.
