There's a question
that
that Allah most
high and his messenger have emphasized belief in
destiny, both it's good and bad. What does
the good and bad mean?
So belief in destiny that Allah has decreed
everything
and when things happen, it is destiny unfolding.
But these do not lift our moral responsibility
in any way whatsoever. The very fact that
we have to believe in destiny means that
we have
agency and choice.
So
practically,
as believers,
we
believe in that everything.
Everything
is by an eternal decree
and it is destiny unfolding.
All of it. Allah
is
the creator of absolutely everything.
And
with respect to Allah, we do not have
the notion of anything being good or bad
because good and bad
are standards by which we weigh
those who owe others
rights and responsibilities.
But Allah does not owe anyone anything.
So good and bad relate either
to the moral good and bad,
right, and who sets what the what's the
moral good and bad that which there's accountability
in the hereafter?
Allah
Or it is the things that are pleasing
or displeasing to to us. So when it
comes to
what is pleasing and displeasing to us,
it is all from Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala.
We should have
that certitude and that conviction. So it is
all
from Allah mighty and majestic.
Whether we like it or we don't and
the wisdom in it is that it's a
test.
And Allah has created us and what we
do. So the good that we do and
the bad
we choose them and Allah is the creator.
Right? So
good and bad do not relate to Allah.
Good and bad either relate to our choices
which are our choices but Allah is the
creator
of both the human
and what they do. As as Imam Alakani
says in
Allah is the creator of his servant and
all they do. Why? Because Allah tells us
in the Quran.
Allahu
Allah is the creator of everything.
Allah has created you in all that you
do. So whatever we do, whether it is
morally good or bad, Allah is the one
who has created it. We have chosen it.
And that's what it is our choices that
we are morally responsible for. And the things
that we like and dislike
is the other notion of good and bad.
Allah is their creator. What is the wisdom
in his creating? It's a test.
To test you which of you is best
in action. And what is that action?
Either when we choose
in initiating an action or how we respond
to what comes
to us. May Allah grant us facilitation
and good.
