Is it bad for a clean shaven man

to lead prayers?

It is either

obligatory or sunnah

for men to keep a beard.

The predominant opinion is that it's obligatory.

The relied upon position in the Shafi'i school

is that it is a sunnah for men

to keep beards. Either way, it is from

what is

unique from

the the teachings of our deen.

So

the the proper thing is when there's a

choice one chooses,

the most fitting person to lead the prayer,

but having a beard is not the only

criteria. There are there's a list of criteria

that should be the most learned,

then the one with the best recitation,

then the one with taqwa,

etcetera.
