One should,

you know, the the basis of taking knowledge

is that you have to check 2 things.

Is this person actually learned?

And number 2,

are they

upright?

Right? In general, these are the 2 criteria

for sound transmission of knowledge.

So one should be careful. One should not

take knowledge from here and there. Someone's wearing

a a topi and have a beard. Say,

okay. This is a scholar. Therefore, I'm gonna

listen to him. No.

We confirm. Is this a recognized and reliable

scholar specialized in what they're talking about? Number

1. Number 2, are they a person of

who is upright, who's reliable? And one of

the ways to check that is to see

what do the scholars say about this particular

person.

Do the scholars hold this person to be

reliable?

So one should do one's due diligence before

taking one's religion from anyone. We don't spy

on people. We don't think ill of people.

We don't listen

to

unreliable people saying things about

anybody, let alone the scholars. Right?

But at the same time, we are careful

about our religion

and we take it from

reliable sources by confirming first. Otherwise,

save yourself a lot of hassle and headache,

and don't go here and there. Right?

Otherwise, is you know, one will have a

lot of confusion and a lot of dismay

in one's life.
