The title of the Quran is the cornerstone of Islam, and protecting it through the use of "twist" means of the title is important. The deen is protected by the Quran and the deen is protected by the Quran. The deen is important for Islam, as it relates to the de lies and the deeming of the holy eye. The importance of learning the Quran and its cultural significance is also discussed, as it is important for changing one's life and showing respect for individuals and their families. The importance of returning back to the default position is also emphasized, and the speaker emphasizes the importance of showing respect for individuals and their families.

My dear respected ulama who are here, elders,
brothers, and in particular the graduating huffaz and
all the mothers and sisters, we first begin
by praising Almighty Allah that Allah Ta'ala
has given us a deen that he has
preserved and a deen that Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala has chosen for humanity.
Says Allah Allah says I have completed
my favors upon you and I have chosen
Islam as a religion for you.
We send salutations upon our beloved Nabiya Kareem
sallallahu alayhi wasallam, through whom we have received
Allah Ta'ala's message and he is the
choicest specimen and the greatest of Allah Ta
'ala's creation.
Brothers, you and I are on a very
momentous and a very important occasion and I
will go on to make mention with regard
to why it is so important.
You see Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is
very sensitive and Allah Ta'ala has placed
great importance on the preservation of our deen,
on the preservation of our religion and of
course the cornerstone of our religion is the
Quran and hadith.
With regard to the Quran, Allah Ta'ala
revealed it upon our beloved Nabiya Kareem sallallahu
alayhi wasallam.
So the first port of call, the first
recipient of the Quran in this world was
our beloved Nabiya Kareem sallallahu alayhi wasallam.
So when Nabiya Kareem sallallahu alayhi wasallam used
to receive the wahi from Almighty Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala, Nabiya Kareem sallallahu alayhi wasallam,
when he used to receive it, he used
to read and recite whatever Jibra'il was
bringing from Almighty Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
nazala bihi ruhul ameen, I sent it through
ruhul ameen.
So when he used to come, Nabiya sallallahu
alayhi wasallam used to recite it very fluently
that I must not forget it.
So Allah Ta'ala says, la tuharrik bihi
lisanaka li ta'jala bihi.
O Prophet of Almighty Allah, don't recite and
read it fluently and fast for fear of
you losing it or forgetting it.
Inna alayna jam'ahu wa qurana.
It is upon us, Allah Ta'ala says,
it is my responsibility that you will remember
it, you will gather it and you will
recite it to the people.
Allah Ta'ala took that responsibility.
In the verse that I recited, inna nahnu
nazalna dhikra, I have revealed the Quran and
I will protect it.
Allah is very very sensitive with regard to
the preservation of the Quran and the preservation
of our deen.
And today what we are seeing, it is
a manifestation of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala's
promise.
Allah Ta'ala says I will reveal and
I will protect it.
How does Allah protect it?
Allah doesn't come down from the heaven to
protect it, you know, in that sense.
But Allah Ta'ala protects it through the
means of the hufadh.
So Allah took a responsibility, Allah Ta'ala
took a oath, I will protect the Quran.
And Allah protects the Quran, the words of
the Quran from the hafiz.
And Allah Ta'ala protects the recitation and
the proper recitation of the Quran through the
means of the qari.
Qari Ziyal was here, he read so beautifully,
the proper recitation is from the quran.
The meaning of the Quran, it is protected
by the ulama.
So this what we are seeing today, it
is a manifestation of Allah's promise.
So don't take this as lightly.
The hufadh are the means of Allah's protecting
the Quran.
And sometimes it is absolutely amazing to see
how Allah has protected the Quran.
Allah Ta'ala in the Quran says, Allah
has revealed the Quran in the Arabic language.
So the Arabic language, Allah has protected the
Arabic language because it is the language of
the Holy Quran.
Allah has protected the Arabic language.
Now have you ever seen anywhere in the
world that there is a faculty in any
university that protects the proper pronunciation of every
letter of a language?
Have you ever found it?
So you go into university or whatever university
of Johannesburg and there is a faculty there
that teaches you how you must protect and
how you must pronounce A and B and
C.
Ever found it?
But have you ever found that in the
Arabic language, you find that there is a
whole branch of knowledge that you learn how
to pronounce every letter.
When we were small, our ustad, he was
Qari Lutfur Rahman.
He was a Bengali ustad who came from
Pakistan.
And he taught us in Wombats for many
years.
And then it was a catalyst that he
was amongst those who sent me to Pakistan
to study.
So he used to make us pronounce every
word through the means of a formula.
The formula didn't mean anything.
But up till today, I still remember it.
So he said, All right, learn how to
pronounce Ba.
And how he used to teach us babbalimubabba.
Babbalimubabba wubabba.
Bani buni bibba.
Bani bubi bakul babubi.
So then he used to say tatalimuta.
Then tatalimuta.
Now, what was that only to pronounce every
letter?
But why?
For the sake of the Quran.
How Allah has preserved the Quran that Allah
has created a branch of knowledge known as
ilmi tajweed that we must protect and pronounce
every letter.
This is how Allah is so sensitive with
regard to the preservation of the Quran.
Now with regard to the English language, there
is nothing like that and the English language
is a peculiar language, you know, so if
I speak about these peculiarities like for example,
you will find tomboy is not a boy
is a girl.
The what you transport through the means of
a ship you call it cargo and what
you transport through the means of a car
you call it shipment.
The nose is supposed to smell and the
feet is supposed to run.
But what do we say the nose is
running and the feet is smelling.
This is what we find with regard to
it.
So you can carry on making mention with
regard to the peculiarities of the English language,
right?
And that is why you find that the
doctors with due respect to all the doctors
who are here, the rules in which day
they give, you know, they where the patients
come they call it practice.
What an inappropriate word.
And the person who invest your money is
a broker.
So what the how the people are broke.
No Arabic language is such a pure language.
Allah has kept it pure because of the
Holy Quran and throughout history.
My dear respected brothers, this ulama have taken
special pains to see that the deen is
protected.
Sometimes they even use sometimes there is harshness.
But one of the reasons with regard to
the harshness is that they must protect the
deen, protect the Quran.
Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal rahmatullahi alaih In his
time there was a matter with regard to
khalqul Quran.
Is the Quran created or not?
There's a very technical term from an, you
know, academic point of view.
I'm not going to go into the technicality.
The people who opposed him said that the
Quran came from Almighty Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala,
but it isn't something that was always with
Allah.
It is something that came out and then
the people put it together in the form
of words that came from Almighty Allah, but
Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal rahmatullahi alaih argued that
the Quran is a sifat of Allah.
The kalam of Allah is a sifat of
Allah.
It is an attribute and a quality of
Allah and every quality of Allah has always
been and will always be.
So it has been for eternity and will
be for eternity.
Now because of that there was a difference
of opinion.
The ruler of the time did not agree
with him and he believed certain aspects of
it.
I'm not going to go into the technicality.
It's created by humans and he believed that
everything comes from Almighty Allah.
It has been eternal, will be eternal.
So because of the fact that he opposed
the Khalifa of the time, he was caught
and he was punished.
He was put in jail.
He was put in prison and he was
told to recant and go against his view
and he said I will not go against
my view.
The Quran is not created.
The Quran is the kalam of Almighty Allah.
It has always been with Allah subhanahu wa'ta
'ala, ghayri makhluq.
So because of that one person came and
said, you know, leave him to me.
I will punish him.
I will have such a whip.
I will give him such, you know, the
hiding with a whip that he will automatically,
he will change his view because of the
torture and he was brought in front of
the Khalifa and they used to whip him
so much so that the meat used to
come out of his body and used to
fly in front of everyone.
One person seeing the great Imam being whipped
like that couldn't take it and he went
to go and tell Imam Ahmad just once
agree on the view of the Khalifa.
I will save you from the punishment of
the Khalifa.
I will stop the punishment.
I will stop the torture and Imam Ahmad
ibn Hanbal rahmatullahi said go and tell your
Khalifa, go and tell your Khalifa to say
once the Quran is not created.
It has always been from Almighty Allah.
It is a sifat of Allah.
It is the attribute of Allah.
I will save him from the punishment of
the Hereafter.
This is how he went through.
This is how the ummah protected this deen
and today what we are seeing is a
manifestation of that.
Now because it is it is so beautifully
preserved.
What does it do?
because it is preserved, it is fresh.
It is inspiring.
It is motivating.
You know in 1400 years from the time
the Quran was revealed upon our beloved Nabi
A.S. Although we believe it has always
been part of Allah Ta'ala since it
is over 1400 years.
Brothers, what happens in 1400 years?
1400 years mountains can come down, rivers will
change causes, civilizations will come and gone.
Look at all the civilization that we have
in our civilization.
We talk about the Mughal Empire was there.
It was there for five centuries.
We talk about the Spanish, you know Khilafat
was there for seven centuries and we talk
about the Abbasid Khilafat.
It was there for five centuries.
And all of that it came and it
went and it crumbled.
The Quran has remained the way it was.
In 1930, the University of Munich in Germany.
They did a study.
They said let us bring all the different
revealed books and to see how it has
been preserved.
So they brought the Bible and then they
brought the Bible and all the different versions
of the Bible.
They saw so many contradiction in the different
versions that they left it.
They said now this is a it's not
worthy of studying any further or pursuing.
There's enough contradictions in it.
Have you ever noticed?
Have you ever seen anywhere in the Muslim
world someone coming up and say this is
the new version of the Holy Quran?
We print the Quran in different fonts, but
have you ever seen anyone coming and say
this is the new version of the Holy
Quran?
No.
So we have the new King James version
of the Bible and in 1400, so they
brought all the different versions of the Quran
together and they checked over hundreds of different
versions and they came and they said there
is not an iota of difference in any
of the versions.
It is preserved the way it was in
the time of Nabiye Karim sallallahu alaihi wasallam.
The Huffaz today, they are part and parcel
of the reason why the Quran is preserved
like that.
So even if an enemy has to come,
an enemy has to come today and he
has to come and burn all the entire
Quran that have been printed.
He still won't be able to eradicate and
abolish the Quran because he can't come and
burn the memory of the Hafiz which has
preserved it in his bosom and in his
heart.
Now because it is fresh, it is inspiring.
It is motivating.
It is uplifting.
It changes the life of people.
No kitab has been there that has been
able to preserve and has been able to
motivate and change the life of people the
way the Quran has.
And I always tell people together with the
recitation, learn to understand the Quran not in
your own prism, but according to the prism
of Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala, learn it from
ulama, love it, love it and learn it
and read it from authentic tafasir.
How is it possible that you got the
Quran and you don't understand the meaning of
the Quran or you don't understand the message
of the Quran?
At least with regard to what is halal
and haram, what is inspiring, what is motivating,
that you are supposed to know.
So whenever you see a woman or a
woman sees a man that you are not
supposed to see and Allah's verse must come
flashing in front of you.
Tell unto the believing male that they should
gaze down whenever Allah's command is there, whenever
the consideration requires.
So the Quran ayat must be there to
be able to guide us in this time
with regard to those all the sales that
are there in November, right?
So now whenever you want to buy something
that you don't need, then you have to
see the ayat of the Quran must come
to you, don't waste.
Those who are extravagant, who buy what they
don't need.
They are the brothers of shaitan.
Now that is how the Quran is supposed
to be a guide in our life and
there was a time, you know, Fuzail ibn
Ayyaz rahmatullah alayhi was a famous robber, a
gangster, a gangster of such note, such notoriety
that when he used to come in a
village, he used to send a message, I
am coming, I am coming and the village
used to just clear itself up by take
whatever you want, take whatever you want.
We don't have the capacity to repel you,
to repulse you, take whatever you want and
he used to have a free reign, come
into a place, take whatever you want from
everyone and go away.
That was his notoriety and one day he
came into a village and he saw that
there was one house that they did not
vacate and he went into that house storming,
storming, thinking that how dare they still come
and confront me knowing my notoriety and knowing
my reputation and when he walked into the
house, a small girl was reading Quran and
she was reading this verse.
There's a time not come for believers to
fear Allah.
And he knew Arabic.
He heard that verse and he stood still.
He came to a complete standstill.
There is a time not come for you
to fear Allah.
This is a message to all of us,
especially when we grow up and we become
old.
You know, there's a hadith of Nabi A
.S. After 60, there is no excuse for
a person not to reform himself.
After 60, what excuse?
This is a time that you know, you
are going into the grave and you still
haven't been able to come up on the
path.
There's a time not come for you to
fear Allah.
He stood still.
He left.
He went away from there and people said,
Fuzail, what have you done?
He said, Fuzail has stopped his robbery.
He stopped and he's changed his life because
of one ayat.
Why did that ayat change him?
Because the Quran is original.
It's not fake.
And there are so many examples with regard
to it.
Even recently, I read a book, Jeffrey Lang,
he became a Muslim, you know, so when
he became a Muslim, he wrote a book
where angels fear to tread.
That was a book.
So I read it.
I found it very interesting.
So one of the things that he find,
he said, one of the most amazing things
about Islam.
Here's a river speaking about Islam and I
want everyone to hear this because sometimes you
and I, despite the fact that we are
Muslims for so long, we have not been
able to capture the essence and the beauty
of this.
He said, one of the most amazing things
about Islam is to hear the Quran at
the time of Fajr.
In the Quran of Fajr, he says got
a rhythm, you know, that is absolutely amazing.
And here today, we can't go to the
masjid to hear the imam reading, you know,
Quran at the time of Fajr, which Allah
tells us in the Quran that the Quran
at the time of Fajr is witnessed by
the malaika.
So and then he says that he was
a son of a priest.
He said he was a son of a
priest, but he was very rebellious.
He used to do all things that were,
you know, prohibited in all religions.
So his father used to tell him, see
Jeffrey, one day the God will bring you
down to your knees.
Jeffrey, one day the God will bring you
down to your knees.
You see, he didn't realize the truth of
his statement.
I came down to my knees, but in
sijdah.
He arrives there.
He said my father told me our God
will bring you down to your knees.
So this is the Quran, my dear, and
look at the Quran, look at the beauty
of the Quran.
Every aspect of the Quran is beautiful.
It tells us about the belief system of
Islam.
It tells us about the morality of Islam.
It tells us about every aspect.
It tells about Allah's qualities that you and
I can see on a day-to-day
basis.
Inna fee khalqis samawati wal arw wa akhtilafil
layli wal nahari la ayatin li ulil albar
Verily, in the changing of the days into
night and night into day, there are signs
for people of intellect who remember Allah Ta
'ala when seeing these signs.
How many of us will remember Allah when
seeing this?
How many will remember this?
Qula ra'aytum in ja'alallahu alaykumul layla
sarmadan ila yawma al qiyamah.
Tell unto the people to see O people
of Allah, O people of belief.
If Allah Ta'ala were to keep the
night over you till the day of Qiyamah.
Who is there besides Allah who will give
you daylight?
Qula ra'aytum in ja'alallahu alaykumul layla
sarmadan ila yawma al qiyamah If Allah Ta
'ala were to keep daylight forever till the
day of Qiyamah.
Who will be bringing you night for you?
For you to gain rest.
So Allah has made the day for you
to earn risk and Allah has made the
night for you to take rest so that
you can recharge your batteries to be able
to remember Allah the next morning and to
go and earn your risk.
Out of my rahmat, I gave you daylight
and I gave you the darkness of the
night so that you can gain rest and
you can earn risk.
Can we ever think about it that way?
It then challenges the people who have wrong
beliefs.
Those who believe there is one more than
one Allah.
How does Allah Ta'ala challenge them?
If you have two captains in a ship,
what happens?
If you have two captains in a team,
what happens?
The whole thing runs, you know, it's not
going to run smoothly because there is going
to be so many different types of fighting.
So Allah Ta'ala says if there had
been more Lords than one, if there would
be more Lords, if there had been another
Lord besides Allah, there would have been corruption
in the earth.
Look at how it explains the oneness of
Allah.
And then of course we have religious groups
who believe that Isa alaihi salatu wassalam was
the son of Allah.
Hazrat Maryam was one of the trinity, right?
So one of three, they have committed disbelief,
who says Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala is one
of three and three of one, the trinity.
How Allah refuted that call, refuted that belief
in one word.
Masih ibn Maryam is a Rasul, before him
there were other prophets.
His mother was very righteous.
Both of them used to eat food.
How can someone who is dependent upon food,
how can they be divine?
Just one sentence of an ayat, both of
them used to eat food, refuting their divinity
in such a beautiful manner.
Then Allah Ta'ala makes mention of such
the Qudrat of Allah Ta'ala.
Let me give you one example among many
examples.
So Allah Ta'ala says, We inspired the
bee with regard to three things.
Here the Qur'an says, Here the ulama
says, not revelation, not wahi in that sense
that how Allah Ta'ala revealed the Qur
'an to Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
Allah Ta'ala says, We inspired the bee
to three things.
First look is, Three things Allah commanded it,
where to make his house and how to
make its house.
So the bee hive and how the bee
makes his house, it's eight shapes, right?
hexagonal.
I think that's the right way.
Maybe I might not be pronouncing.
If it was square, if it was round,
it would not have been able to preserve
the honey.
So Allah Ta'ala told it how to
make its home.
And then Allah Ta'ala told it where
to make its home.
Make your home in the three tops and
in the mountain tops because there the air
is not polluted.
And then Allah Ta'ala says go into
the pathways of Allah and take from the
nectar of flowers.
Right?
So three things Allah Ta'ala told it,
how to make his home, where to make
his home and where to go through the
pathways which Allah creates for it.
And the bee no matter how far it
goes will always come back to its hive.
And today modern science will tell us that
the bee to make one pound of honey
will travel 88,000 kilometers and will suck
the nectar of two million flowers to make
one pound of honey.
Allah has made mention of it in the
Quran many years ago.
Let me tell you another amazing aspect.
Allah Ta'ala says we will take from
its from its stomach.
Now, why didn't Allah use the word butooniha?
Anyone who knows Arabic know butooniha is a
female.
Today we know, scientists tell us that it
is the female, the queen bee that produces
the honey, not the male bee.
Allah made mention of it 1400 years ago.
yakhruzu min butooniha, not butoonihi, from the female
bee Allah Ta'ala will produce a liquid,
shirabu mukhtalifun alwanuha, different flavors, different colors, fihi
shifa'u linnas, in which there is shifa
and cure for humanity.
This is the beauty of the Quran and
then it tells us with regard to the
morality of Islam and just let me give
you two examples amongst many examples.
I don't want to go on.
There are many examples that we can give.
You know, all these things that we learn
today, the Quran has made mention of it
so many times.
So let us see, one thing with regard
to the morality, la taqrabu zina, so Allah
Ta'ala doesn't tell you don't commit zina.
Allah Ta'ala tells you don't come near
zina.
Why?
You are human beings that Allah knows, Allah
has kept you a desire.
If you are going to provoke the desire,
you are going to get caught in it.
Now, I'm surprised by many people, many faith
groups, even some of our people who say
a man and woman, a girl and boy
can come and go together.
They can be together.
They can be alone.
They can be alone.
But then afterwards you tell them go together,
be alone, touch one another, but don't go
beyond that.
Now, what is that person?
Is he a man or is he a
murphy?
What is he?
What is he?
Look at what Allah Ta'ala told us.
He understood human psychology.
He said don't come near it.
If you come near it, you are going
to get caught in it.
The beauty of the Quran because it knows
with regard to what it is.
You see, so this is the beauty of
the Quran.
It told us with regard to, you know,
so beautifully, it tells us about something that
today we are so guilty of it.
You know, Allah Ta'ala says, Don't fight
with one another.
Don't argue with one another.
You will become weak.
And you know, the words of the Arabic
is so beautiful.
Reeh means the wind.
The wind will come out of you.
The wind will come out of you.
Your whole strength will be taken away.
You know, how much more must we explain
to the ummah?
Stop fighting, stop disputing.
Disputes make you weak.
Disputes take away your strength, but we don't
want to listen and look at what the
ummah is today.
The pure manifestation of what the Quran says.
I find it amazing today and really with
due respect to a lot of people who
are doing this.
Today, we have absolutely made it as if
to sound that hatred is a virtue.
Today, we've made hatred into a virtue.
Look at how some people are saying, every
day, every day on social media, this one
is like this, this one is like that,
this one is like this.
No one is fed.
And you see social media, it is something
that it only, you only, you only like
to post negativity.
No one like to post positivity, right?
Because you post positive things, no one forwards
it.
Post something negative, you know, some sort of
controversy and rumor.
Ya Allah, you can see that.
They say falsehood travels half the world.
Travels the whole world while truth is still
putting on its trouser.
That's a saying in English.
While truth is still putting on its trouser,
falsehood is already still, and we are all
guilty of this.
How do you post and forward something when
you don't know the reality with regard to
it?
You are part of what Nabi Kareem Sallallahu
Alaihi Wasallam said, that a person who speaks
and who forward something that is not, you
know, there is no evidence with regard to
it.
He is part of a liar.
It's enough for a person to call a
liar that he relates whatever he is.
I heard this and this, that is a
liar.
So Allah says don't, you know, so Allah
says today we made hatred into a virtue.
What did Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said?
Don't hate one another.
But today, no, hatred is a virtue.
And muhabbat and love, we don't talk about
it.
You will not enter into Jannah until you
have love for one another.
You do not, you will not enter Jannah
until you have iman and you don't have
iman until you have love for one another.
Now, what is a virtue?
Is hatred a virtue or is love a
virtue?
And what are we doing in our community?
Allah tells us if we don't do this,
you are going to become weak and I
tell people who are in small communities more
than ever, you will have come here.
You have small communities.
Learn to love, love together with muhabbat and
love.
Salat with jamaat teaches us this.
If everyone is, you know, regular for salat
with jamaat, fajr time we see everyone, we
say alhamdulillah, nothing untoward happened to him and
his family during the night.
Therefore, they have been able to present themselves
for fajr namaz with jamaat.
But if a person is not there for
three days for fajr namaz and he's always
there, what are you going to do?
What happened to him?
Is he gone for a journey?
Is he sick?
All of a sudden there is concern.
It creates muhabbat.
Bring together people in this muhabbat, in this
masjid.
It brings muhabbat in and that is what
Islam has taught us.
You know, we always talk about in technology
term default position.
The default position of Islam is muhabbat, not
hatred.
Let us return back to the default position.
Anyway, I can go on making mention with
regard to many things.
So one interesting thing is you see today
many many decisions in the court are made
by circumstantial evidence.
You ever heard the word circumstantial evidence?
It's not a direct evidence, but it's a
circumstantial evidence in which a judge gives a
ruling.
So Allah ta'ala in the Quran has
made mention of circumstantial evidence.
So as Yusuf a.s. Zuleikha came to
seduce him and when Zuleikha came to seduce
him, he refuted and he ran towards the
door to stay away from the seduction of
a beautiful woman, a woman of great lineage
and great beauty.
And when they came to the door, they
found the husband of Zuleikha who was also
the king and the governor of Egypt and
then all of this happened and she said,
what did she say?
He seduced me and he said, no, she
seduced me and then there was a small
child that gave circumstantial evidence.
O king, look at where his kurta is
torn from.
If his kurta is torn from the front,
that means he was making the advance and
she was repelling him and she tore the
kurta.
That means he was making the advance.
But if the kurta is torn from behind,
then he was running away from her and
she was seducing him.
And the king saw that Yusuf alayhi salam's
kurta was torn from behind and he said,
Yusuf, you are the truth.
Circumstantial evidence.
How much more can I make mention and
brothers, these hufadh, they have learned that particular
Quran which is so beautiful.
Every aspect of it, every verse of it
is beautiful.
So the hufadh, we must not take it
politely.
They have memorized something that is unique and
Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala must give them the
reward with regard to it.
And there's no ordinary reward for becoming a
hafiz.
We must respect the hafiz.
You know, there was always respect for a
hafiz in our whole history.
In the battle of Uhud, 70 people had
to be buried.
Now, they could not bury so many people
and bury, you know, that time there wasn't
a, you know, you don't have all these
different types of things to make the grave
and to dig the grave very easily.
So they had to do it by hand.
So they couldn't do all the 70 graves.
So they dug graves and they put different
people in one grave.
And when they came to put the people
in the grave, Nabi al-Karim sallallahu alayhi
wa sallam told them an amazing thing.
The one who knows the Quran the most,
put him first.
The one who memorized the Quran the most,
put him first into the grave.
This is how, this is how this ummah
used to respect the hafiz.
In one hadith, Nabi al-Karim sallallahu alayhi
wa sallam had said, Inna min ijlaalillah ikrami
haamilil quran.
It is part of respect of Allah.
That you respect haamilil quran, the one who
has memorized the Quran.
It is part, when you show respect to
a hafiz, you're not respecting him.
You're respecting his ability to memorize the Quran
and the kitab of Allah.
And you are respecting Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala.
This is how great a hafiz is.
So it's important that we show this respect,
the reward, subhanallah.
Nabi al-Karim sallallahu alayhi wa sallam had
said, Allah will tell the hafiz and the
holy Quran, ikra, wartaqi, warattil, kama kunta turattil
fi dunya, read the Quran and read it
melodiously and climb the steps of Jannah.
The last place you will be as you
read the Quran melodiously, the last stage of
yours will be when you complete the recitation
of the Quran.
The hafiz will read the Quran and his
stages will be enhanced and it will be
brought up until he complete the reading of
the Quran and that will be his stage
in Jannah, subhanallah.
In one hadith Nabi al-Karim sallallahu alayhi
wa sallam had said that the person who
becomes a hafiz and he regards what is
in the Quran as halal as halal, what
is haram as haram, then Allah will make
his parents wear a crown.
That crown will be so great that it
will be even greater in splendor than the
sun.
Then Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, can
you imagine the reward of the hafiz?
If Allah gave them the parents such a
great reward, what will be the reward of
the hafiz?
And lastly, let me say we know this
very famous hadith that Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam said a hafiz will take 10 people
to Jannah, 10 people to Jannah and I
put it this way.
All of these people who have become hafiz,
they got 10 visas for Jannah, 10 visas.
Now today if a person, you know, prior
to haj time, if anyone got haj visas,
people were out.
I don't know how many times I get
calls.
Mawlana, can't you arrange a haj visa?
You know the embassy, you know the ambassador,
you know it, but I can't just get
for you like, Mawlana, you know, whatever you
can do, you know, it is like, you
know, like a type of, you know, enticement.
Do whatever you can.
We are prepared to do.
People have been paid 25, 30,000 for
one haj visa here in this world.
Can you imagine how much you must be
paying this one to get a visa for
Jannah?
If only we can understand.
They got 10 visas for Jannah.
But lastly, let me say my dear respected
brothers, and I tell these youngsters, so very
important, you know, that together with the privilege
comes the responsibility.
So you have to get the reward, but
we have to also have, so there's one
of our great scholars, you know, he has
written one of our great scholars has written
with regard to the responsibility that comes.
He gives many examples.
He said the Hafiz must be getting up
early in the morning when other people are
sleeping.
When people are laughing, he must be thinking
of the Akhirah and he goes on making
mention with regard to what the Hafiz supposed
to do.
But this one here was so beautiful.
I said, let me translate this one.
He said, He must cry out of the
fear of Almighty Allah.
He must cry out of the fear of
Allah Ta'ala.
He must be one who is always worried
about accountability.
He must be sad with regard to how
he's going to fare in the year after,
you know, He must be dignified when he
walks amongst his peers, when he walks amongst
his friends, people must be able to say
he is a Hafiz.
Look at the way he's walking.
Look at the way he is addressing the
people.
Look at how he is behaving.
You won't see a Hafiz of the Quran
fighting in the bazaars.
He won't be fighting with his friends in
the parking lots.
Taraweeh time, it happens sometimes.
So that he won't be sakin and he
will be tranquil.
And he will be kind and compassionate.
Now that is now the responsibility.
And all of us, you know, in last
I must say sometimes we don't pay enough,
you know, attention and pay enough type of
attributes to the Ustad, special the stuff to
the Ustad, Ustad go through a lot brothers
and we don't realize we don't pay enough
attention.
Hazrat Ali r.a used to say anyone
who teaches me one chapter of knowledge, I'm
a slave.
He can go and sell me how he
wants.
I'm a slave.
So pay special tribute to the Ustad, the
Hafiz Ustad, special tribute to the parents, to
the mother and father, many a times, you
know, in this particular regard, you know, sometimes
there is within the man and the wife,
the woman, husband and wife, there's different responsibilities.
So sometimes in from Islamic perspective, the husband
is supposed to provide the financial needs of
the family.
So one day a child came to ask
the husband, oh my father, tell me how
much does it cost to get married?
So the father said, I don't know, I'm
still paying.
But in this particular regard, I many a
times, I'm not saying I don't know the
individual family situation.
The mothers play a very important role.
The mothers make more dua and the mothers
make more effort.
The mothers will wake up the child more
often.
So we have to pay a special tribute
to the mothers.
Allah give you the reward with regard to
whatever you have done.
There is no doubt.
They will be the one who will pamper
the Hafiz because, you know, Hafiz Takruji.
So don't get too spoiled also, but you
know, so they are the ones who will
provide the best of meals.
So a special tribute.
So firstly, together with all of this, I
made mention of several things and in conclusion,
I said, remember the worth of the Hafiz.
Remember the worth of his parents.
Remember the worth of his ustad.
Remember in particular with regard to the mother
and also with regard to the virtue, also
the responsibility.
May Allah give you a toffeeq of understanding.
