Bismillah Al Rahman Rahim al hamdu Lillahi Rabbil alameen wa salatu salam ala Ashleigh zealandia mursaleen maybe you know Habiba now Muhammad Ali of masala to attempt to slim and about our brothers and sisters as an mRNA commandment Allahu Akbar cattle.
You look like you have something you want to say is the homework.
Okay, so I really want to do that at the end when most people are here in sha Allah hotel. But you have something to give me all my shenanigan is written out the homework handed in that?
Yes.
Okay, Mashallah. Good.
Good. Well, you can keep this. Yeah. Okay, good.
Okay, so we'll go over that. And Siobhan tie that at the very end when most people are here. Today, we're going to go through
sort of unfurl up to the end of the surah and the first 93 verses of surah Toba. Alright, so there's a lot to cover. And that's just the way it is every day. So Pamela, I was telling my wife today there's over 250 pages of reading I have to do to get myself ready for this. And I was like, ah,
and hamdulillah so we'll go through and inshallah Johanna. We begin with a little unfurl, which is the eighth surah of the Quran.
And it is also the eighth night of Ramadan. So one entire week has passed. And this is the eighth night in Charlottetown. So total and fan What does it mean? What does the title mean? and find
the spoils of war right so the booty are the gains from the battles that took place and specifically this one is referring to which battle
which battle. There's one battle in particular that is mentioned throughout this entire surah
the Battle of butter, right the Battle of button so Allah subhanho wa Taala in the surah. He goes through a number of different issues and incidents or happenings that took place during the time of the Prophet sallallahu wasallam and in particular, the Battle of butter. So Allah subhanho wa Taala begins rubella he mina shavon obligee Bismillah him wa nipah he

Many in Allah subhanho wa Taala here in this verse, He obviously talks about the unfurl the spoils of war. Yes, I do. And I can infer that they asked you the question, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam about the spoils of war.
The decision concerning the bounties is for Allah subhana wa to Allah and the messenger. So fear Allah amend that which is between you and obey Allah and His Messenger, if you should be believers. Now what happened at the beginning of the battle of bud that was, I mean, were there any other battles that took place before this? No, there wasn't right. So this was the first battle that took place in the history of the home of Muhammad Sallallahu arada usnm. And so this was a time where it you know, it hadn't been done before the spoils of war had not been divided, it hadn't been given to anyone. And Allah Subhana Allah to Allah here he mentions that the spoils of war is for Allah
subhanho wa Taala Allah and His Messenger sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and we know that the bounty or sorry the booty, I should say, the spoils of war, were divided not only among a loss of candidates and in the messenger sallallahu wasallam. It was taken by the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and there were companions that were protecting him. And there were from amongst the Muslim men as well, those that wanted to share in the spoils of war, but Allah subhanho wa Taala wanted the companions to fully submit, right for Tacoma how awesome it is to be Nico, Fear Allah subhanho wa Taala and rectify the issue between your own selves between yourselves the companions and Sahaba of
the alohar on him. Now there were someone some that went out with the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and those that went and fought with the profit some longer and he was on them, they were entitled to that.
That you know, the the booty that was collected from the Battle of butter.
Now we're going to go through the Battle of butter very briefly in sha Allah to Allah, but Allah subhanho wa Taala offended, sorry, he ended up dividing the spoils of war, not only collected and kept with the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam but he actually
Set one fifth to be kept with the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, as we'll see shortly, and four fifths were divided and given up to those that took part in the actual Battle of Baba. And prior to this, prior to the, to the Battle of bundles we said there were no other battles that took place. But this was the first time in the history of any of the prophets and messengers of Allah subhanho wa Taala that there was a battle that took place and Allah subhanho wa Taala told the the prophet or messenger to collect these spoils of war that they are to be kept for the home of Muhammad Sallallahu Ida usnm. Right prior to that it was not done no prophet or messenger had
collected the spoils of war and and then divided it amongst the companions.
In verses two to four Allah subhanho wa Taala goes on, and he mentions the qualities of the faithful and truthful believers as we see here in ml minuman and levena either who kerama wodgina takanobu whom was either 2018 led him to

What is Carrie? So Allah Subhana Allah Tana here he mentions the believers, those who are honestly truthful. Now remember, we said the word from amongst the companion, some that were defending the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam and some that were questioning and saying, Hey, wait a second, we deserve we're entitled to some of this as well. And so Allah subhanho wa Taala hamdulillah rectify the issue. And he points out the believers Alevtina, those that remember Allah subhanho wa Taala What do you let kulu that their heart becomes, you know, so soft with the remembrance of Allah subhanho wa Taala that they're scared to do anything that goes against the will and Command of Allah
subhanho wa Taala to the extent that when they hear right when they hear the recitation of the Quran, they know that this is the command of Allah Subhana Allah to Allah, their hearts become soften, they become emotional, or they become very passionate with regards to the deen of Allah subhanho wa Taala in verses five to eight, Allah subhanho wa Taala goes on.
And he mentions here how the caravan that went out with the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was done deliberately, right, it was deliberately done. Now the companions are the Aloha Island, they had no idea that a battle was going to take place. Right? They had no idea about what was going to take place. They went out there was a caravan and they went to Baba, Has anyone been to the actual site of the Battle of brother?
No one. Okay, it's not far outside of Medina, if you go outside of Medina, about an hour's drive a little bit over an hour, you reach this site of the Battle of button. And it's a really beautiful place to kind of know because, but that itself is made up of, you know, a few mountains, but there's one mountain in particular that's just sent, and it's just as high as the other mountains that are there, but it's just sent and it looks really, really beautiful. And then you have the Shahadat but there are those that are buried there in that area.
But what was interesting that happened during the time of the Battle of butter was that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam and the companions of the Allahu anhu. They weren't expecting a caravan.
The story when they went out with the caravan, they weren't expecting a battle to actually take place. And so Allah Subhana Allah sent them out, they went out with this caravan, they accompany the caravan. And when they were resting in butter, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he noticed on the ground, some deep seeds, you know, the deep pits, so he saw them on the ground. And he recognized that these date pits were not from the dates that are commonly grown in the province of Medina. They came from somewhere else. The area where there were from, from mcca from that area from that region. They were dates that had not been produced or grown in Medina. So the Prophet
sallallahu wasallam knew that there were from amongst those thing in the area or the region of Baba, not only muslimeen that were staying there, there was someone else, right? And so they knew from that the machine we're staying in the same area. So Allah subhanho wa Taala actually made that incident happen. So that those that left with the profits on a longer it was ended up ended up having to fight the battle and be there to defend the Muslims, whether they liked it or not. Right, it was just that was the way it was. So then in verse number 12, Allah Subhana Allah to Allah.
He mentioned that he sends rain, he sent rain that calmed the hearts of the companions that have been
Aloha I'm home and rain is is a blessing it's a mercy from Allah subhanho wa Taala the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam when the rain would fall, he would go outside and he would uncover his shoulder so he can actually feel the mercy and the blessing of Allah subhanho wa Taala on his skin directly. That was what he used to do in order to be happy and content with the blessing of Allah subhanho wa Taala of rain and Allah Subhana Allah mentions here that he removes the ridges of shape on the whether it be ill feelings in their hearts or the dust from the travel or the annoyances from being out. Allah subhanho wa Taala removes it as he mentions in this verse.
And he also then says that he sent angels to fight with the Muslim men so Allah subhana wa tada sent angels that fought alongside the Muslims in verse 17 and 18 Allah subhanho wa Taala goes on.
And he mentions how Allah subhanho wa Taala took action during the Battle of Baba, when the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam through sent right when he threw sand. This was done as as we see here in the verse 1718 let me just read the actual part. While now I may even I may tell Anakin Rama Rama so the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam to extend and throw it in the face of the mushrikeen but Allah subhanho wa Taala says one out I made it even I hate it that it's not you who throws this end when you threw this end? Why not Kingdom Bahama, but Allah subhanho wa Taala had thrown it and what did he throw, he threw
kind of like a decoy for the machete keen, he threw a decoy at them. And the last one what Allah sent with that the angels that helped the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in verse 24, almost panaway to Allah mentions how he comes between a person and his heart. Look at this verse. It's really interesting.
A Johan levena Amma nostalgie buli la una voz Mooney either from Lima your he come while mo ma Hoon obeying Him upon me what
he took on and know that Allah intervenes between a man and his heart, and that to him, you will be gathered. That was a conduit. taala intervenes between one of us meaning ourselves and our heart. Now, when you look at yourself and you analyze you going through a difficult moment in life,
you might find that we use the typical example of a relative being in the hospital, and you feel very saddened by it. But you turn to Allah subhanho wa Taala your emotions don't take over and allow you to do things irrationally. Rather, you turn you turn to Allah subhanho wa Taala. So a lot comes between you and your heart, your heart is telling you to do one thing, your heart is telling you to make a decision. And sometimes it's even with regards to marriage, right? Whatever the case is, you're looking at marrying someone and you think you know, how my heart is telling me Let's do this. Let's do it. It's the right person. Don't worry, just get married, everything's gonna be okay. But
for some reason, Allah subhana wa, tada, places that you that you use a little bit of wisdom, and you push those feelings of your heart distant, and you start to think correctly. Wait a second, is this person good for my Deen? Is this person right for me? Is this person going to be someone who's going to bring my heart in line with what Allah Subhana Allah wants or not. And so a lot comes between you and the feelings of your heart. And you then can make the right decision, even though it hurts your heart, even though you feel that pain inside of you, that you might not want to do this. And the companions on the alohar. I know, they weren't ready to go and fight this was some of them
work. Don't get me wrong, the majority of them work, but some were still questioning it. Wait a second. How are we going to do this? Are we capable capable of doing this? This is the first time in the history that they're believing and following the messenger. So the longer it was send them that now they're being asked to go and to stand in this battle and fight against who and this is this is the showerhead. This is the most important part. Who are they fighting in the Battle of butter. Some of them are fighting their own fathers. Some of them are fighting their brothers, their cousins, their uncles, they're fighting their own relatives. Imagine put yourself on that battlefield right
now. You're standing in front of your relative, your father, your brother, your son, possibly your uncle, your cousin standing in front of them with your sword in your hand and their sword in their hand and you're saying a shadow Allah number, and you're going ahead. And this is not an easy case to be placed into yet the Sahaba of the Allahu anhu they didn't have a choice. This is what it meant for them.
At that point in time, and they push themselves through it, and they stood face to face with their own family members, their own relatives from the machine that were making fun of them, yet they, you know, even though they were standing in the face of their relatives, their relatives are ready to kill them as well. They were ready to take them on the battlefield. And so all of us handle it and it shows us here
that what's in your heart might hurt you. But Allah some handle attacking between those personal feelings and what was needed to be done.
So Allah subhanaw taala highlights that in verse 24 and verses 31 to 33 Allah subhanho wa Taala goes on
to mention the Quraysh and how the Quraysh claim that they can produce the Quran or something similar to the Quran what you got to deliver it him to an app on buddy Sameer and ellonija will upon Nam Lucha in her the
money in so the machine they say you know we can produce something similar to this, this Quran that you claim is divine, we can produce something similar to it anyways. So Allah subhanho wa Taala highlights that and you mentioned how the, the Christ themselves, you know would say that
and they ask Allah Subhana Allah for forgiveness, they still continue to ask Allah Subhana Allah Allah for forgiveness, and this is why a lot of mentions here
that he doesn't destroy them. Because they go on to say, if you clean that this is divine, then bring a punishment upon us, destroy us bring our destruction. You have a loss of Hamlet Allah says he refuses to bring them their destruction, simply because the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was amongst them. And because they were still asking Allah subhanho wa Taala for forgiveness. Now we mentioned the mushrikeen right, how they commit shirk. But at times of difficulty they would turn to Allah subhanho wa Taala. We spoke about that yesterday or the day before, right? So there were still those that would turn to Allah but still had other gods and this was a very early stage for the time
for the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in his teachings with regards to Islam towards the machete Cain? Yes, they had left Mecca and gone to Medina, but it's still very early. Ask yourself How long have you been Muslim? How long have you been submitting to the to the will of Allah Subhana Allah to Allah, and the prophet SAW longer. I think he was selling them at this point in time he received the revelation, not more than what 15 years, right? 15 years, less than 15 years, the machete keen were openly being asked to come towards the call of a loss of animal attack. So it's still very new, it's still very fresh and even at the death of the Prophet sallallahu wasallam even
though so many incidents have taken place, it's still very fresh. I'm 34 years old. I've been mature, praying and practicing Islam for almost that time. All right, so Subhana Allah subhanho wa Taala Allah has given us a beautiful example of the deen at the time of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam but showed us as well how they were real people also, don't don't look back at them as being you know, this is like a supernatural thing like a movie Wi Fi and not Wi Fi. sci fi right. Some sci fi thing that happened and you know, so Pamela, it's all like made up and it sounds like perfect. Yeah, it sounds perfect. But you have to look into the detail and understand that these
were real human beings as well. They also had feelings they also went through difficulties and Allah subhana wa tada highlights them for us here in the sutras.
In verse 41, Allah subhanho wa Taala goes on.
And he mentions dividing the spoils of war right dividing them and will recite the verse very quickly in a long time. He says, Why aren't m and
n any law who said it was only one easy upon ba Well, he wouldn't mess up and he would be nice Sebby in common.
Don't be like
me Deena yo malformed Connie. Oh melta
ma, ma no good Alicia, you buddy. So Allah subhanho wa Taala he divides the spoils of war this booty and we know that it's divided into how many parts five parts. We won't go into detail of who gets from amongst Okay, sorry, won't go into detail as to who gets from the one fifth because of loss of Hamilton in his messenger get and from that one fifth goes to those that are poor, those that are need those that you know are struggling those that maybe are widows
And need some assistance and there's a lot of different categories that we break it up into right? Those that come to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and asked, but four fifths goes to
who does it go to?
Right those that fall alongside the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, right those that took part in the battle. And there's also mentioned in the in the history that Allah subhanho wa Tana,
or sorry that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam separated from the times where they were being attacked and the times where they actually went out to meet at an expedition. So where it was a set battle where they actually went out to meet the two the two sides, there was three fifths divided, uh, sorry, four fifths. I believe it was four fifths I can't remember exactly now, but also at the time where it was just defense than it was three fifths that were divided in the last panel atana knows best. Then in verses 42 onwards, so 42 onwards almost to right till the end of the surah Allah subhanho wa Taala.
He gives us details of the Battle of butter, so he mentions how the companions of the Allah and whom were very small in number, he also mentions how they were not prepared, as we discussed earlier, they were not prepared. Not only were they not prepared, as in they went out with a caravan. They weren't prepared to also face on the battlefield, their own relatives, right. So they hadn't really prepared for anything during this time. Yet Allah subhanho wa Taala called for this, and so they answered the call of a loss of Hannibal, which I had, they were surprised as well the Muslims and they weren't ready. As we mentioned, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam saw those date pits,
those seeds of the date sitting on the ground in the sand, and he knew that there was the mushrikeen present around them in the camps. And so Allah subhanho wa Taala surprised them listening to you, they weren't ready they went out there. And so kinda out of nowhere, the caravan and everything, you know, fell into place.
In verse 48, Allah subhanho wa Taala Hannah, he mentions how shavon made the battle seem extremely easy. But then shavon himself gets scared and this is important for us to to recite in sha Allah hota hai Allah, Allah subhana wa tada says in verse number 48 what Zion no homeless shape on our mana home wall pada Laval Ivana como de oma meenan seiwa in me john welcome what the shape on say no one can overcome you today for among the people and indeed I am your protector so no one from among the people will be able to overtake you and I am your protector in need. jellico I like your neighbor I'm there with you. I'm standing beside you. Don't worry shavon is telling this to who
he's obviously whispering to the machine right telling them Don't worry about it. You can do this. Everything's fine. Right and I'm with you. Then what happens? phenom
knockout sarana the bay he won't call
me buddy.
Come in me.
Me fall for ma ma ma Lucia de douleur. In
a beautiful verse of the Quran. Everyone should actually memorize this. Everyone should memorize this verse of the Quran. Because in this verse of the Quran, Allah subhana wa tada shows us how shavon himself says he's scared of Allah subhana wa
shavonne admits his fear of Allah subhana wa metalia. Right, well read it in English. He says.
Allah subhanho wa Taala says, but when the two armies cited each other, he turned on his heels and said, shake on now turns and he says, indeed, I am disassociated from you.
And disassociated from you. I leave all of you, you go and do whatever you want to do. I'm out of here. Indeed, I see what you do not see. What did he see? He saw the helpers of Allah Subhana. Allah the angels are present there there. Right? Indeed, I see what you do not see. Indeed I fear a lot. And a lot is severe in his penalty severe in his
can't really say punishment because I called it could also comprise punishment, but it probably is like the outcome. So the the penalty is is the outcome of someone who does bad, right, you're playing hockey, you do something bad you get a penalty, that's your reward for doing that. Right. It's called the penalty. So Allah subhana wa Jalla here says that shavon shows us how he himself is scared of Allah subhanho wa Taala. So we should try and under
Standard, if shavon is fearful of the punishment of the loss of panaway data, and he gets scared when he sees something is wrong, he runs away from it. What about us? What about our own cells? Are we fearful of the punishment of Allah subhanho wa Taala, that when we see something that's harmful for us, we run away from it. Because the shape on is doing that here. And he's telling us that he is doing it. And the reason why he's doing it is because he's scared of Allah subhanho wa Taala and his punishment. So we need to also try and understand that
in verse number 61
I really have to pay attention to time today because we're going into sort October as well. So in verse number 61, Allah subhana wa tada here, he shows us the command from Allah to facilitate peace if the enemy seeks it. So this is in the middle of a battle. This is the battlefield, the other lust palitana tells the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam. If the mushrikeen the enemies seek to settle with peace, then stop
And grant them peace,
enforced peace, right? And that's important for us to try and understand especially with what's going on today in different parts of the world. So the command from Allah subhanho wa Taala is there to facilitate peace when it is called for. In verse number 70, Allah subhanho wa Taala mentions the pagan prisoners now all of these things are tying in with the Battle of button right? We're just going through it as we mentioned from verse number 42 onwards, we're discussing bugout and different things that happened in Baba and after that as well. And after the Battle of Allah subhanho wa Taala he made the prisoners
I think I made a mistake and something I mentioned earlier, when I mentioned that the the spoils of war were taken, right, the spoils of war were taken, but this is also the first time where a loss of haddaway Tana
makes the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam take the prisoners of war, right the prisoners of war this is this is the first time that it is that it is happening.
So the pagan prisoners, those that were prisoners from amongst the, those that were captured after the Battle of butter, Allah subhanho wa Taala highlights in this verse in verse number 70, that they were promised a better life if they became righteous. So should they become righteous, they were promised a better life. And we know that from amongst those that were captured, they went on to helping the Muslim mean, those that wanted to do goodness and righteousness, even if they remained upon their belief, but they submitted to living and following the rules that were set in place by the Muslim mean of Medina. If they agreed to that, then the prophet SAW longer and he was seldom
actually made some of them you know, teachers to this habit of the alohar at home, they taught them to read to write they became their educators in certain things that they were good at. Right? So they allowed them to be
to have a better lifestyle as a last panel with Anna mentions, even though they were amongst there. There are they remained among or upon their belief.
In verse number 73, Allah subhanho wa Taala here he goes on to mention and will recite this verse inshallah longtime Anna one levena cafo barrel, Govan onea a barrel in Fallujah, fitna phenol
can be and those who disbelieved are allies of one another. Now we know that the mushrikeen the non Muslims are allies to one another, we talk about it all the time. Right uncle comes home from work sits there in front of the TV and says, Bobo these guys, they're only after us they're out to get the Muslims, right. That's what happens all the time. And so so Pamela, not all the time, but in most cases, I know the youngsters are laughing and laughing and uncle's are like, Wait a second, I don't say that. Right. So we noticed that the most the emotionally keen are out to get the Muslims their allies to one another against the Muslims. Why? Because we don't keep as our allies as people
who are close to us. We discussed this in the past few, you know, helpers that we had, that we don't keep as allies, those that are mostly keen those that disobey Allah subhanho wa Taala they're not our close acquaintances.
But Allah subhanho wa Taala here he points out he says, If you do not do so, if you don't do what if you do not do so there will be fitna on earth and great corruption. If you don't do what, what is Allah subhana wa tada here talking
above.
He says that the mushrikeen are allies to one another. If you don't do so, there will be corruption and fitna on Earth, if you don't do what
if you don't make yourselves allies, amongst yourselves amongst the believers, and that's really important for us to try and understand. Because somehow the world as we look at it today, you open the TV, and you see what ISIS and they claim to be Muslim. I'm not saying be allies of ISIS, please, I'm recording this for my own benefit as well, in case anyone tries to twist my words, right. I'm not saying to become allies of ISIS, what I'm saying is ISIS and and people who go and fight and use the banner of Islam, they only have the opportunity to do that, because we amongst ourselves as an Ummah, have become divided. We've become divided. And so when we're divided, we say, Oh, you know,
this person and that person, that this person and that person and we, we point fingers at each other, but some kind of law, we do that on a smaller scale. And then what happens our children when they grow up, they don't know who to follow. So they lose leadership. And they go, and they follow whoever is using the banner of a snap, even though they're falsely using that banner. And we've stated that I think in the very first night, that they're falsely using the banner of Islam. And that is not being used in the right and correct methods. And a loss of handling data tells us if you do not unite yourselves, there will be fitna and corruption on earth. And we're seeing the fitna,
we're seeing the corruption, it's happening. And so even more, so we must try to unite our hearts in our communities. We unite from community to community, we unite imams should unite and Alhamdulillah I see this is happening in Toronto and still needs to happen in many other Canadian cities. Right? I come from Montreal, and I talk about it all the time. The majority of the Imams are not united. Right, the other day and hamdulillah I saw, you know, one of the emails from Ottawa, he sent me this letter, and it was signed by I believe all of the Imams who were representative of each of the masajid of Ottawa, that they agreed they're going to start Ramadan and tarawih on the same night.
Alhamdulillah. That's good. That's good, right? Regardless of how they came to this agreement, right? We put it in their hands, we trust them as Imams, they're going to do the right thing. We will follow them. They're the Imams, they're doing the right thing, all of them are coming together. Alhamdulillah as long as they're not making a decision that goes against Islam, then there's no issue there. There's nothing wrong with it. And so the United we'd love to see if every other city in Canada is united that way as well. And across the globe, in terms of our Muslim communities. Then we move on
to the next quarter. The next quarter is similar to tober. Right sort of to tober and Allah subhanho wa Taala here in the beginning of surah, two Toba, what do you notice is missing from the top of your colon or the top page? Bismillah Ar Rahman AR Rahim right? It's missing. Why is it missing? It's not a table.
It's not a table. It was done on purpose. It was done on purpose by those that put the plan together and wrote it with the permission of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam. So there's no typo. There's no problem there. Now why was it done this way? Some say that sort of the Toba is a continuation of which Surah Surah unfiled that we just finished going through right. Others say and this is you know the stronger opinion. If someone asks you why is there no Bismillah at the beginning of surah Toba? What is your answer?
No, that's not your answer that Allah Subhana Allah Dinah's angry and no no, what is the answer?
And why is there no Bismillah at the beginning of October, what's your answer?
Exactly the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam never recited Bismillah R Rahman r Rahim at the beginning of sudo to October therefore we don't recite this villa headlock mounted Rahim that's the first thing. Secondly, when when the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam had the companions and they were compiling composing the Quran writing it he did not tell them to put Bismillah R Rahman and Rahim there that's the second thing and then there's many other reasons why you know the scholar say Allah subhana wa tada here is very harsh. Right, very, very stern in in his statements and Sugata Toba.
And so here we'll see why and what the last panel attalus discussing. Now before we get into the slot, this slot is filled with verses pertaining to and we mentioned it the other night, the J word as many people are scared
To say, this sutra is filled with verses pertaining to jihad. And we are not going to go into detail with many of these verses on purpose, because we don't want people to misunderstand or to take the, the meaning of a verse out of context. So I've gone through these verses, I've done a fairly, you know,
I spent a lot of time going through these verses in a different mustard here in the GTA in Mississauga. And they have been recorded, so those that want to listen to the recording, you can get those recordings. I personally have recorded all of those as well, in case anyone wants to twist my words and use it against me. I have all the original files, right? And I have the backup files. So anyone who wants to twist the meaning and and cut and paste, the reason why I'm saying this is not because of the muslimeen is because I did this, I did this lecture, once out in Kelowna, British Columbia. And 95% of the attendees were non Muslim. It was held that conference center in one of the
Holiday Inn hotels, and 95% of the people that attended and there was approximately, there were over 200 people, I would say close to 300 people that attended 95% of them were non Muslim. And there was one person,
one person out of all of them one person who came with photocopies of the Quran like this, cut and paste verses of the Quran, put them together and said, he stood up during the q&a, he was really disturbed, and he was disturbed because he doesn't understand that
he was disturbed. And he says, your God claims to say this and say that and inverse this and verse that and he was quoting, the very famous verse that we will go through and a lot of time and I will cover the verse where a loss of Hannah Montana says, kills the machine wherever you see them. Right? And he says, Look, your God is saying, kill the non Muslims wherever you see them. So you're you're commanded to walk the streets and kill people. First of all, I was like, Well, I haven't harmed you yet, have I? Right? And so we don't want to talk about that. But the point is, people have the wrong intention. They have the wrong intention. They have the intention to take goodness divine scripture
from Allah subhanho wa Taala. And cut and paste the verses to take the middle of this verse and the middle of that verse, put them together and say, Look at what your God is saying, whoa, wait a second, buddy, backup. Take the whole verse, the verse before it, the verse after it, look at the context of why the verses were revealed. And then you will know why Allah subhanho wa Taala said this, he didn't just simply say, Go and kill the non Muslims, wherever you see them. He was talking about a simple incident that happened. And if you understand the context of it, you'll be like, Oh, well, yeah, that's understandable. Right? And we'll talk about that in sha Allah. So in Sula, Toba,
Allah subhanho wa Taala talks a lot a lot about jihad. And we must say that jihad is not legislated upon us. We're sitting here it is not legislated upon us. I have spoken to scholars in different parts of the world while I was a student in Medina, up until recently as well with regards to what's happening in Palestine in different countries around the world, and not a single one of them has ever told me that jihad is legislated upon us right now. Okay, that's the opinion that I follow. Anyone who differs with that that is your opinion. In verse number three, Allah subhanho wa Taala. Here he goes on. And if you notice the theme, if you read Serato and file and you go into sort of
two tober the theme sort of continues, and this is why some of the scholars say that there's no Bismillah R Rahman r Rahim because it's simply a continuation of sort of unfold.
So Allah subhana wa tada Here begins a surah about all
you no more human a Sunni in a Latina had to minalima sneaking, this is also another name given to the Surah Surah barah. Right, but ah, so this is a declaration that Allah Subhana which Allah makes disassociating himself with them we should be keen. Then in verse number three, Allah subhana wa Tada. Again, he goes on and he publicizes his stance regarding the machete Keane was done on Amina Ma. He went on Sunni he
had been about

won't be in any room for those that read the English translation and try and tie in the Arabic In this verse, you'll notice a loss of haddaway to Allah says and an announcement from Allah and His messenger to the people on the day of the greater pilgrimage that Allah is disassociated from the disbelievers. And if you read the English for some of you in your translation, it might say, and so is His Messenger. But if you'd simply read the Arabic It says, unknown Maha berry or minella, mushy ki now we're assuming that Allah subhanho wa Taala is disassociating himself from the machete Keane and His Messenger
right? So that way you understand from it.
And the law her Betty amin and machete kena rasuluh. There was Pilate Allah as disassociating himself from the machine and His Messenger. But what are Zulu goes to the beginning and Allaha Beti on what are Sulu that he Allah and His Messenger are disassociating themselves from the machine that shows us the power of the Arabic language. If you don't know it, you would not understand it, you would read it and say wait a second, Allah is disassociated himself from his messenger as well as the machine doesn't make sense. So you need to understand the context here of the Arabic language how Allah subhanho wa Taala uses it.
In verse number one to six of the sooner Allah subhanho wa Taala gives the machete keen four months, he gives them four months to leave monka now he sends a bucket forth, and along with a bucket he sends it, it'll be a lot more fun. And he the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam sends them to MCC and tells them tell them we should be keen. From this day onwards, they're no longer allowed to make pilgrimage around the carrabba. And they cannot do that naked, they must leave as we mentioned yesterday that they would perform the offer on the combo without any clothing on and give them a four month notice. They have four months, they can stay there and mcca they can live there. They can
no longer go around the cabin naked, but they can stay there for four months until they find a place to live outside of Makkah that is going to be a safe haven or a safe place for them where they can remain and live in peace. But tell them they have four months to do so after four months maka is to be rid of any mushrikeen they cannot stay there.
Those that have peace treaties with this specific time, then that was dealt with by the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam right? Anyone who did not have a peace treaty, you have four months, you find another place to live within those four months, if any of the machine and now we skip a verse, Allah Subhana Allah mentions in verse number six, those that could not find a safe place to live. We will help you find a place that the Muslim mean will help you find a safe place a tribe, a village a town that will let you live there safely, securely.
Right before that, what does Allah subhanho wa Taala say?
How to Move Falco to machinery kena hate to
walk
outside,
taboo, masala that Tom was catifa Hello sebelah home in mahabhava phone on watching him right before that. What does the last panel with Anna say that famous verse we were talking about just a few minutes ago. And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the Muslim again wherever you find them and capture them and besieged them and sit and sit and wait for them at every place of ambush. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was commanded by Allah Subhana Allah to clean out from the machete
but he did not tell the prophets all along it was sell them take your swords, your bows, your arrows get out there, get on the horses go and attack them when they least expect it. He did not tell them go and walk the streets and wander the earth and go and just kill all the machine like people like to do like we said take a photocopy and copy or copy, paste, cut and paste and put verses together unless some kind of way to Allah gave them four months to find a safe place to live.
And He then said if they are still there after their four months, that means they refuse to leave. That means that they are going to debate with you. That means that they are standing up and saying Who are you to come and take this land away from us. That's why Allah subhana wa tada says that
You can take them up with arms. But right after that in verse number six Allah subhana wa tada said, any of them that had a difficulty finding a safe place to live to reside, and they came to you, then let them come to you and go and help them find a place to live
with your arms in their face know,
safely security will find you a place to reside, where you can be at peace.
There's the context makes sense now. It makes sense, right? So Allah Subhana Allah shows us in the Quran, how some people will cut and paste verses of what and without reading what came before and after that, and simply take it and say, hey, look, Islam is promoting hatred, and and you know, fear and trying to make people know, okay, let's get over that inshallah. So we'll move on inshallah, because I think we've clarified that enough in verse number 13, Allah subhanho wa Taala. Anna
has more rights to be feared than the machete Cain as he mentions there. You know, he simply mentioned that we don't want to go through it and spend too much time but he mentions that Allah subhanho wa Taala is more deserving of being feared of his punishment than the mushrikeen. And this was specifically directed at those companions that were with the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam going to fight. As we mentioned, many of these verses are about jihad. And that, that time when this was revealed, amongst them were many hypocrites, many of them don't fit in with the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam or we're debating on going out with the Prophet sallallahu alayhi
wasallam. So this surah will go through a lot of these issues that happen and take place in verse 17 and 18. The mushrikeen are not to maintain the masajid as Allah subhanho wa Taala says makanan in emotion Aikido, or Moodle mehsana genoma he shahidi Narayana, forcing him bill ko for that the machine are not in any position to be those who maintain or build our massage but before going into any description there I want to also look at 19 to 22 Allah subhanho wa Taala mentions a gentleman CFO He attended
geo Arima autonomous Do you know how long you come in? Man? I mean, he was,
he was Fida fiza de la, la.
La.
de la he will mamula de la como volley me in Las pan with Allah mentions here with regards to what we just discussed.
that the mushrikeen are not to maintain nor build our massages. But he also here points out that at that time, the machine Bukhara ish of Mecca, they used to take pride in giving drink meaning water or something to drink to the pilgrims that had come to Makkah to perform their pilgrimage at the caravan. Right. So the cannibal was a place of pilgrimage not only for the Muslims, but prior to that the machine would also go there. We know that very well in our history, right there were idols over 300 360 idols surrounding the caribou.
And so the mushrikeen of a Porsche, they would take pride in actually giving drink so a giant sequoia tell hedge, do you think you as someone who just simply gives drink something to quench the thirst, the thirst of the people who come for Hajj for pilgrimage, right? And when I tell them st they'll have on that because you're the guardians of the people of the mustard,
mustard and how long the Kava mustard them how long that's around it. You think that simply because you give them something to quench their thirst and you maintain the house that you're better than those that believe in a loss of credibility? You're not now you're still one, you're not the same. You're not equal. Those who believe in Allah Subhana Allah to Allah, they have more rights over it than you and so Allah subhana wa tada here tells us that the machete keen or not to look after, first and foremost and muster that Hara, right, the house of Allah subhana wa attallah that is built around the Kava and also a piece of advice for us that our massages are not to be maintained by the
machine again. Now someone comes in does construction or does some sort of, you know, a short maintenance or something of that sort. We live in a non Muslim land, it might be very difficult for us to actually find Muslims to do that. To begin with. That's one thing. Secondly, for us to maintain our mustard is more important. So imagine if this mustard every single night people who are non Muslim are coming in vacuuming and cleaning and looking after the place and maintaining and and looking into
every nook and cranny and arranging our equal earns rates when they're not even dressed properly, not even clean. Not even people respect the book of Allah subhanho wa Taala that wouldn't be right now would it wouldn't be right. So Allah subhanho wa Taala tells us that the massages are to be maintained and regulated by the Muslim mean.
Allah subhanho wa Taala goes on in verse number 23 talking about friends. Yeah, you are Latina, and we'll definitely do.
Como ohana? Come on he?
Really? Did you read that in English? Did anyone follow along? Allah subhana wa tada said, Oh, you who believed? Do not take your father's or your brothers as allies. And that's where I stopped. We need to continue reading right? Do not take them as allies if they have preferred disbelief over belief
led directly to
one outcome Odia is to have will call for an allele man. So Allah subhanho wa Taala. Here, he tells us again about friends and we spoke about this the past few days. Now these are friends like close people to you. This is your father. This is these are your brothers. Don't take them as close relatives as your allies, your friends, how is Allah subhanho wa Taala saying that? Well, the reality behind it is, we know the statement Blood is thicker than water, right? Blood is thicker than water, meaning your friends, they're the water, your relatives, their blood. So Blood is thicker than water. Whenever you're in a time of difficulty, your blood relatives are going to be
the ones that will be there for you. But there's something that's thicker than blood and a loss of kinda like that is telling us that here in the Koran. What's thicker than blood is the Shahada, that Shahada, your Muslim brothers and sisters are closer to you, in terms of being your allies, your friends, your close acquaintances, they are more deserving of it than even your father and your brothers, if they're not upon email.
Now, that's a powerful statement that our last panelist is giving us, right? extremely powerful. We'll move on and saw a lot of data because time is really going quickly.
versus 25, to 27, Allah subhanho wa Taala talks about the Battle of her name, and in this battle of the Muslim mean, or I should say the Muslim army, because from amongst the Muslim army, there was also a number less than 2000, that were people that supported the Muslim army that were not necessarily from the Muslims. So there were 12,000 that were with the army of the prophets that along with it, who ascended them. During this battle, they went down in the middle of the valley of her name, and they were ambushed by the machete chemo had arrows and they started to shower down their arrows literally, like rain was falling down. And so the machine when when they started to do
that the Muslims, they got scared, they felt we're gonna lose this one, let's get out of here. And they fled out of 12,000 that were with the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam 180 of the Sahaba remained with the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam
180 from 12,000. And that's an example for us of how a loss of Hamlet and then sends angels again, to help out and even though you may be small in number, you can still defeat your enemy. And that applies to anything in life. Even though you're small, you might be one person, and you're trying to get a high position in your, in your company, for example, or you're trying to prove to people that me is one person, the only Muslim working in my company, for example, I'm going to give them the example of a true Muslim, a true movement, not what they see on CNN and BBC and all that nonsense on TV, I'm going to be the one person who's going to give them the right example. And you can do that
with the help of hold us accountable attachment. So these lessons don't only apply on the battlefield and that's one thing that we learned from this surah is that there are verses pertaining to the battle but in them a muscle kind of mentality is talking about your own knifes your own self Are you capable of being an exceptional individual and surpassing the typical stereotype of society.
And then Allah subhanho wa Taala mentioned in verses 28 and 29. The motion he came being banned from the home as we discussed earlier, in verses 34 to 35. Allah subhana wa tada warns against corrupt scholars and misguided worshipers and this is really really important because sofian even though our Yana he mentioned with regards to this verse 34 and 35.
Also Hannah who attended I mentioned here
Yeah, you are letting me know in a Kathy Romina
Danielle

see Bilbao and then it goes on. He says that a lot or many of the, the monks or the scholars, the monks
kathira, Mula Bandha. The scholars and amongst we could say, would eat or use consumed the wealth of the people unjustly. And this is a message for us as well. So if you haven't been Ariana, he says, The leaders from our oma that are dishonest and using the money and the wealth of the people unjustly, they are like the Jewish and he then says the followers who follow those unjust scholars and leaders, they are like the Christians giving an analogy of how the Christians you know, they just follow whatever is being told and the Jewish they make up and change things. So those are the leaders so unless some kind of attack that gives us a prime example here of how we need to be just
an honest in our dealings, both as people that follow the Imam as well as the Imam, and Allah subhanho wa Taala loves when we advise our leaders when we advise the Imam, as well as we listen to the advice of the email. So not every Imam is welcome to receiving some sort of criticism, some sort of constructive criticism, and that's where it's upon that a meme or that leader, whether it's an Imam, or a leader, or someone who's a CEO of a business, or you might even be the father of your household. If you can't receive advice from your wife or from your children, then there's something wrong. You need to try and tweak yourself into someone who's capable of receiving that advice. Then
Allah subhana wa tan and verse number 40.
He says, very quickly.
If we don't support the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, then don't worry, if you're not going to support the Prophet sallallahu I need to send them now this was specifically for obviously the companions around the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, but we learned a lesson from it as well. If you don't support the Prophet sallallahu either he will send them Don't worry Allah subhanho wa Taala will help him and support him in ways that you can't even understand and he has done so. And here in this verse, Allah Subhana, which Allah mentions the hige illa
Illa
Allah who is Raja vena cava, Nef, ne ne Murphy Lahore, Eva Cooney, Assad, sahibi, healer to Zen in, Marana Arizona Allahu sakeena de la
de la Roja y Jana Kenny Mattila de la cafaro soflo kanima to learn the one law mozzies one hockey game. So I was hanging with Aaron I mentioned how he helped the profits on a long island he was on them when he was in that incident of the cave, and the machine were looking after him and he was with none other than avocado, the loved one and he said, then ef naini is the method of hot that there is someone with them who Allah Subhana Allah to Allah was the protector over them. Then in verse number 43 of us upon which Allah He uses a moderate type of criticism, when he's criticizing the Prophet, some of Allah Allah He was setting up, and I wish I had more time. But here Allah
Subhana Allah to Allah, He is a little bit showing his, you know, he or he's delivering the message to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, in the method that he criticizes the decision that was taken by the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. But the important thing to to highlight here is the method of criticism.
The method of criticism, how he criticizes the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam and he begins with pardon with forgiveness. And he doesn't say you know, when you're upset with someone and you go to them and you say, may Allah guide you, well, wait a second, the way that you said May Allah guide me automatically I know you're getting into my face. Don't even continue your sentence back off, right? But how Allah Subhana which Allah speaks to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam here he says,
I have fallen in love.
I fell in love with
me a lot. Pardon you. Write beautifully. He doesn't say it in law. Right? He says, I fell in love with
Lima. tala who had been an ally, Allah can Naveen Sadako What are lm and BB in? Very beautiful, very soft, very calm way of telling the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, you made this decision before even doing what you should have done. Right? You knew something but you made this decision. And so Allah subhana wa Tada. Just wanted to highlight that there right before we finish in sha Allah
And then in the next verse, Allah goes on in verse number 60, that will take in sha Allah very, very quickly. Allah mentions in this verse, a Southern part. And this is the month that most people pay zakat. And it's highlighted here Allah subhana wa tada highlights the eight different categories of people that are entitled to our zeca. I won't go through the verse, I'll just tell you them very quickly, the poor, the needy, the those that are employed to collect this account. So if you're, as a collector, you've been employed simply to collect this account, a portion of that can go to you as your salary. Why because that's your job, right?
Number four, those inclined towards Islam. So someone who's inclined towards Islam, their heart is already leaning towards Islam. You can assist them in ways that you know, somehow this is going to help them to make their decision a little bit easier. You're not buying their snap, there's a difference. Okay, you're not buying their Deen, you're just helping them to feel comfortable with the home of Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam number five, they called to bail someone out, okay, or they called is actually letting a slave go free. But what if someone from amongst the Muslim mean is innocent and being falsely accused of something and they need money to bail themselves out of
jail? bail them out of jail with a Zakat money. Number six, the indebted those that are indebted, they have a debt to pay off. That is also a category number seven, in the cause of a loss of Hannah, what to Hannah, is it time?
Three minutes, okay.
I'm not debating with him
in the cause of Allah subhanho wa Taala. And then it needs to be someone who's traveling. And they might need a place to stay, they might need some food, they might be someone who is in need of some sort of assistance. So those are the categories of people that are deserving of Zika. And the reason why I wanted to highlight that is it's important for us to look into it. There are different methods that we can use to try and calculate our Zika I know I used to work for nationals account Foundation, they have this calculator. It's like as a cat calculation guide where you can plug in the actual let's say you have assets and money and wealth and gold and jewelry and you calculate all
that you owe us done then it tells you at the end how much you have to pay in Zakat go and give that and you're done. Right You don't have to come to the Imam 5000 people saying how much do I pay? How much do I pay right? So it's a lot easier to do that in sha Allah Tana. And then the rest of this the the verses Allah subhana wa tada discusses the hypocrites and slightly touches upon the believers and then goes back to discussing the characteristics of the hypocrites and we'll continue with that tomorrow in sha Allah has opened a lot of fun, but some a lot of sentiment back and NFV and I'm gonna have to do it yourself. We will send them for the homework. We'll talk about it right
after
this
today
I'm finished sixth sorry, I'm sorry
