Ramadan Tafseer Night 28
July 2, 2016
Bismillah al Rahman al Rahim al hamdu Lillahi Rabbil alameen
wa Salatu was Salam ala Nabi Hill Karim, Allah He of masala to atoma tasleem trubbish roughly suddenly Why suddenly I'm rewatching the lock that I'm Melissa Nia of Coco Lee, my brothers and sisters in Islam said Mr. de como Rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh.
Today I came with nothing.
I came with nothing. So Panama.
I was in Milton earlier than I just came from Brampton. And now I'm here.
I actually went and spent some time with a more techie fiend today. And in Milton, they complained every single day from the 21st. They said you didn't come and spend any time with us at all. And he said, is not very that you're going to unfollow every single day and you don't you know, you don't spend more time with us. So how to like manage to spend some time with them there today. And I came to realize the roads fathers also performing ft calf but over there, and I had mentioned something and this is what I wanted to begin with today.
You know, I I know that your T calf is not easy.
Here is that marijuana, marijuana? That's you making noise? Can you open the lights in the back?
So I know when you're performing as decaf, I know not everyone here is performing decaf. But we never really did a specific, you know, halaqa session or anything specifically for them or attack caffeine simply because we were following our Halak on routine for Tafseer of the Quran.
And so today, I want to focus a little bit more on the cuff. For those that are not performing RT cast, this would be something that maybe encourages us for the future in sha Allah to perform it as well. You know, the thing that I mentioned when I got there is that it's not easy. It's definitely not easy to perform. It can take half and I used an example of someone here in this mustard, sir, who, who I asked yesterday, I said, how's your calf going? And he says,
like, What do you mean? He's like,
so what does that mean? Like it's not going good? Or what? What's the problem? He's like, no, it's going good. But some panela You know, you're not in control of your time. Right? So he was mentioning to me, I think after fudge, there's a halakhah. Right. And then you get to sleep a little bit. But then before though, there's another halaqaat or something that takes place.
Okay, before I started so after God, there's something before us of the afterthought he had before also there's something and then there's this that we have now.
And Dr. nadwi comes in the middle so Pamela so yeah, it's it's not easy. SubhanAllah and your time is being split in so many different things. And you probably assumed when you came for erotica, that you would just be on your own time your own schedule doing your own thing except for a shot tarawih and beyond. And that's pretty much it right? But somehow you realize that you know, the time gets split up in so many different ways and so many different things and maybe people ask you you know, can you clean up Can you do this Can you help out with something vacuuming and so on. And so your time is something that you give for Allah subhana wa Tada.
And we know very well in the in the beginning of the fourth of June was
Carla subhanho wa Taala shows us the first page the first verse of the beginning of the fourth djoser the force the body of the Quran, page number 62. Allah subhanho wa Taala shows us there
will be a more
feeble meme to a bow on one, two to fiocco Musashi in la de highley. Allah subhana wa tada shows us a verse that is usually used for fundraising. lantana Luna Bella had to learn fecal matter matter hambone Allah subhanho wa Taala says you will not truly and fully attain righteousness until and unless you give from that which you love. Right had done fecal matter hipbone and usually whenever there's a fundraiser last night was a fundraiser right? and handle.
Hey, I told you I told you.
I told how long was it 20 minutes they told me it was going to be 10
Yeah, so they intentionally did it really short here and hamdulillah in Milton, we
we did is short of the law was only about 40 minutes which is very good, which is very good for us.
full fledged fundraiser, right? And the handler was there today. And they were calculating they were at 240,000. And they said it should be around 280 and Hamdulillah, which is good, very good. They needed a lot. That mustard so halala. So getting back to the topic, the fundraiser, usually at fundraisers, you'll hear the person who's trying to empty the pockets. Right? Use this verse and say that you will not truly and fully, you know, attain righteousness except and until you give that which you love, referring to money that we love money. But some handler there's something that's more valuable than money that all of us own. What is that? Time, time, time is of the essence,
right? time we own time, we own our time, but technically, we don't own it, Allah owns it, he loans it to us, right? We're given a sort of ability to control our time a little bit, but we can schedule things, but we don't know for sure when our time will end. So we're not in total control. Total Control means you're in control of the beginning of your time and the ending of your time. But we're not in control of that. Allah subhanho wa Taala is and so our time you'll see that when you're performing errand, take half your time is not your time, even though it's your time. And there's so many things that happen. Like right now, maybe some of us want to sit and benefit others say why do
we have to have a Hanukkah today? We want to just sit you know, have some peace and quiet and do some recitation of the Quran catchup. It's true, right? Some people might be hopefully no one's behind their curtains making drama against me, right? So panela someone might feel that, you know, I just want some time I want some of my own time. It's my time I own it, I can do what I want with it. But this time you gave to Allah, these 10 days you gave to Allah subhana wa Tada. Now everything we do we do for the sake of Allah. But this time, we are absolutely not in control of it. Because when you want to go outside, and you know, maybe, maybe in the middle of the night, go to a Tim Hortons
and get a doughnut in a coffee. You can't. you're craving something, when it's time for you to finally eat, you can't go and get it. You're stuck, you're bound to the, you know, you're restricted to the mustard.
And so
is our decaf going good. It's okay, it's alright, but so panela that's fine, because part of our decaf is to learn that patience. Part of the earth decaf is to understand that I don't own anything. Really. And truly, I don't own anything. I don't even own my time. And I'm here I secluded myself, I left the world and even though I left the world, and you're here in the masjid, I still don't have control over it.
I still don't have control over it. I don't have peace and quiet when I want to sleep. I don't have time to finish the Koran. You might have thought to yourself in these 10 days I'll finish the Quran and you're thinking, why is it that I didn't finish the Quran yet? How come I'm still struggling to finish reading. And so Allah subhanho wa Taala shows us that time is important. And we will be questioned about our time we will be questioned about every single thing including our time. How did we use it? And this is a time for us to learn Patience, patience, because patience itself will speak on our behalf. Just like him. Remember in the Friday night hackers we learned the Hadith of the
Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. That Rahim will testify either for us or against us what is
what is Rahim?
That's Rama. What is Rahim?
If I say slotta Rahim, what is that?
Family maintaining relationship with family, right? Or him his kinship, your relatives. sila Rahim is maintaining that kinship with your relatives. So Rahim itself as the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam shows us will speak and testify, either for us or against us on the Day of Judgment. But where is that? Where's this kinship?
It's not me and my cousin or my uncle and my aunt and my brothers and my sisters and my parents. It's what I feel inside, how I behave towards them. Do I respect them? Do I show them anger? Do I punish them? Do I make life difficult for them? Or do I help them? Do I do hire for them? Do I serve them? Do I, you know, assist them in their needs and wants and desires? etc? What is it that I do? How is my behavior with my relatives? And so Allah subhanho wa Taala shows us that Abraham, our kinship, that which lives inside of us, that we don't see will testify either for us or against us on the Day of Judgment. Similarly, anger. When we showed anger, our body will start
and testify in front of Allah, this person was angry, you were angry with so and so person and you said this and you did that in your limbs will testify You did it. So the creation of Allah subhanho wa Taala is something that we don't necessarily, you know, a lot of us think the creation of a lot is something tangible, something that we, we could see or we could feel something that's physical in front of us, right, it has a form, but there's a creation of Allah subhanho wa Taala that we don't see.
We feel it, you feel sadness, you feel happiness, you feel anger, you know, you feel emotions, you feel a certain way, or you maintain that relationship between your relatives, or you don't, that will testify these things were there, they're part of the creation of Allah subhanho wa Taala. Adam, similarly, time as part of the creation of Allah.
It's part of the creation of Allah subhanho wa Taala had, and we will be questioned about our time.
And if Allah wills time can speak either for us or against us. What time is what it looks like? That doesn't matter.
But it will, it could either testify for us or against us. And so it's important for us to make sure that we use our time in the right manner in the right fashion. Now you're performing RT Cath, and it's not easy. It's definitely not easy. But for some people, it is easy. Some people sitting here saying hey, you know what, I'm chilling out, man, I'm having the time in my life. Right? It's it's pleasant, it's enjoyable. It could be that way for some of us, right? It could very well be that way. For some people, they get pleasure out of the hardships that they feel because they know they're doing this for the sake of pleasing Allah subhana wa Adana. And so when you're here, and
your entire family is enjoying themselves, and now we see that the 27th night has passed, and the masjid is it going to be full?
Allah knows in sha Allah will be in sha Allah, it will be and we hope it is because we were encouraging people to continuously come. But we also see that some people will abandon Allah subhana wa tada on this night. And I use that word on purpose, that they will abandon Allah Subhana Allah to Allah. Why Because Allah doesn't abandon us. We learned that at the very beginning of the month of Ramadan, that even though
or I think it was just before Amazon, even though we might become ill,
or we might see someone that is not Muslim, that is sick and ill, Allah subhanho wa Taala still comes to their assistance. Are they worshiping Allah? No. Are they being obedient to Allah the way that he wants a non believer? No, but Allah Subhana Allah is still providing him or her with wealth, still providing him or her with family still providing him or her with work, still providing him or her with health and a cure for the diseases that they go through or experience etc. And so Allah subhanho wa Taala does not abandon us. But we are the ones who sometimes abandon Allah subhanho wa Taala had, and this is why it's important for us to realize that on this 28th night, when we see the
numbers go down, we remember those who are not with us in our heart, and we make dua for them. And we feel for them, we feel for them as in we feel we wish that they were they were here, we wish that they would be with us and we come closer to Allah subhanho wa Taala through that so when you give your time going back to the verse Lenten, a little bit of I had done fecal matter hipbone you will not truly and fully attained righteousness until you give for Allah subhanho wa Taala sake, what we love, and we can we can tie this into so many things because the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam did tell us that the fitna the trials of our time, of his oma is what?
Well, it's wealth, that is our trial. But here Allah Subhana Allah is showing us that we also are tested with our time. And what does it mean that you will not attain righteousness? Does that mean that none of us are righteous? that none of us believe in Allah? subhanho wa Taala. And we're not righteous in that sense. Is that what it means?
That was a question.
What does it mean? Let's take another example. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam teaches us law you mean a haidakhan? Had your head boulia he may you have good enough see, one of us will not truly and fully believe until we love for our brother or sister right for another Muslim what we'd love for ourselves. Now, does that mean that we don't believe because we're not giving away the things that we love? No, it doesn't. It means that you still believe but you see when you're when your phone battery is charging and my charger is charging now, right?
Actually, I'll use it as an example.
See, if I push this button, what do you see?
How many lights? Two? Three.
And they're gone.
Sorry, my finger was on it. How many do you see? Three? does is it fully charged now?
Is it fully charged?
Those that are watching Kanzi? Is it fully charged. There's three bars. How do you know that it's not fully charged? You don't know my charger? Maybe three bars means it's fully charged?
You don't know. Right? So we don't know. Is it charged?
It's got three bars. If I plug it in, it will charge my phone. We can test it if you want. You can charge your phone. Hopefully you don't want to use my charger but you can try it right? You could try it it will charge your phone and sha Allah, Allah wills but it's not fully charged. Similarly, last minute I had to come head to your head really as he may your head good enough. See, right.
The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam shows us that you can still believe in Allah, but you will not fully attain that high level of belief. Just like Allah subhanho wa Taala says, You will not fully attain the highest level of righteousness until you give that which you love.
So the charger, is it charged? Yes. Is it fully charged? No. Will it charge? Yes, but it will not fully charge
as it's supposed to. Because it actually has four bars. When I plug it in now you'll see there's four bars so it's not fully charged.
Similarly, my brothers and sisters when we believe in Allah subhanho wa Taala there's certain things that we fulfill in terms of our belief. But then there are things that we can do more righteousness, exactly the same. So consider this your four bars, you might have this much righteousness. Does that mean you're righteous? Yes, but you're not super righteous. You have two bars. Are you now fully righteous? No, you're righteous. But yeah, there's still some shortcomings here in there. three bars. Are you fully righteous? You You are pretty righteous. Yeah. Alhamdulillah but you know, it's still there's something that's missing. What is that? Had to tune in fecal matter hipbone right you
give what you love you now push yourself higher into those higher levels of righteousness. being obedient to Allah subhanho wa Taala is part of righteousness fulfilling the or or carrying out the Sunnah of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is also acquiring and attaining righteousness. But there are things that sometimes require more and giving away the things that we love. Is that something that's easy? Is that easy to give away something that you love? No, it's not. And that's why Allah Subhana Allah indicates to us that it's it's something that will give us a higher level of righteousness. And he encourages us to do that Lenten Allah will Bill had tuned fecal matter head
bone. And here, what are you giving? You're giving your time. You're giving your energy, you're giving your patience, you're giving your eyesight, you're giving your eyesight don't think you're aren't, you're reciting the Quran. It's not easy. You're seeing black and white constantly, you're giving your eyesight, you might not feel it. But if you were to do it regularly for many years, or many days on end, you then feel the tiredness in your eyes. And so so hello, when you're performing etic half, it's not an easy moment, and you're giving a lot. And a lot of people will say You know what? I don't understand. I don't I don't see how I'm actually gaining any rewards. And a simple
youth the other day who asked me there was a young boy who came to me and he asked me a really interesting question. He said, You know, you mentioned that if we recite sort of the last three times, what is the reward?
It's the reward equivalent to reciting the entire quote on write good. He says, so why do I need to recite the whole Quran
might not just recite sort of the last three times? Why recite the whole code on sins? That's a very good question. Because when you recite sort of a class, you get a reward equivalent to reciting the whole Koran.
But what about the time that you spent reciting the Quran, you get rewarded for that time, too. You get rewarded for your energy, you get rewarded for the breath that you're, you know, you're breathing, every single inhalation exhalation, you're getting rewarded for that. You're getting rewarded for the aches and the pains that you're feeling in your body when you sit and recite the whole code on but if you recite sort of the class, you're not getting all the extras, you're just getting the reward for reciting the Quran. And so he's like, well, then I'd rather recite the whole Wow, a little boy do rather recite the whole Quran. Wow, Mashallah, that's an amazing thing that
they observe. I would rather give
More and sacrifice more to get more simply because I know I can do it. I'm young, I could still recite the whole code. So why just recite pseudo class when I can stay awake the whole night and recite four or five Jews and do this every single night until the end of Ramadan. And in sha Allah in sha Allah, I'll get you know the I'll have the ability to finish the whole course and get the reward for reciting the whole Quran and the reward of all the struggles that comes with it. And so we need to exert ourselves sometimes we need to go the distance, and then Allah Subhana Allah in the next part of that same verse Lenten, a little bit, I had tattooed fecal matter hipbone Allah
subhanho wa Taala then says,
well, Merton ficou minchie in in La hubbie Halima and you don't give anything except that Allah subhanho wa Taala is well aware that you gave that and sometimes giving means not doing anything at all. In the Hadith of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam when he tells us
men can you know be law he will do mill after failure call hiren Alia smoked, whoever believes in Allah subhanho wa Taala. And the Day of Judgment should see that which is good, or remain silent. remain silent. And we took the Hadith What does what does the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam go on to say after that? What does he say? who attends our Friday night? halakhah.
You attend you attend? Do you remember the Hadith? The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam explains that it's better for us to remain silent if we have nothing good to say. And the person who remains silent and controls themselves and remain silent. That is their good deed that is their reward. Your reward is insane. Nothing and doing nothing, absolutely nothing. And so Subhana Allah, even when sometimes you want to do something, but because you want to please Allah and do what's right, you say nothing, or you do nothing. That also earns you your reward. And so NC cap is all about gaining patience, and sacrificing and striving hard and pushing hard. When you're tired, you're awake. When
you're awake, you know you're going the distance and trying to stay awake. Because you're reciting the Koran or you're standing in Vienna, or, you know, you're making too hot. And it's not easy. No doubt. You ask yourself now, how many of you want to go home?
Be honest. Ask yourself, I didn't say raise your hand ask yourself, how many of you want to go home, of course you wish that you were at home for certain things. No doubt you love the mustard. But you wish you were at home as well. You wish that you could see your family you wish you could see your children you wish you could get your your food that you know you enjoy at home, you enjoy that food, you wish that you could get your sleep throughout either the night or the morning, whether it's you know, Milan, it's late, you might sleep that after fudge it a little bit. So you get a little bit of sleep you wish for that. But that leave me Believe me the day that you have to pack your bags and
leave,
you're going to look at this spot. And you ask yourself Subhana Allah,
that time is gone. Those 10 days are gone. He went by already it's finished. And for the rest of your life, you will see those spots that you slept in. And those spots that you cried in and those spots that you may do in and you will remember that you were there. And you will probably wish that you can come back next year and have the exact same spot unless that spot was terrible because of the air conditioning. Or because maybe the sister side they could see into your cubicles, he had to cover up the screen or the window, right or whatever reasons, right? Maybe because the light was right on above you. And you could never sleep for whatever reason. But you would wish that you could
come back for erotica, how many of you would want to perform attic half next year, raise your hand who wants to perform an empty calf next year, even for those that are not performing? they're raising their hands, right. And so it's important for us to understand that there's something we achieved through going through hardships, you have to go through hardships, you have to experience hardships, because when you experience those hardships, you remember it and it brings you closer to Allah. Remember your parents and the hardships that they went through for you when you were young. And now when you ask yourself, you know what? I wish I could have those hardships today.
Right? I'm pretty sure there's some of us that wish we could have the hardships that we experienced when we were young. And that's because those hardships brought love for our parents brought love for if it was hardships for the deen it brought us love for that Dean, because we truly believed in Allah subhana wa tada and it brought us closer to Him as our Creator. And so when you perform as a Catholic, it's something that requires patience. It requires time it requires energy. And you will see that these next few days are the hardest days of your etic half
these next few days.
Don't think that now you know the 27th night is over tada we is going to be really short and quick don't think that these next few days are going to be easy these are the next few days where psychologically they're painful because you're thinking everyone is getting ready for aid everyone is talking about their clothing and their aid food and the the invite invitations and where they're going to go and, and and you and I know some handler this morning some brothers asked me this afternoon they asked me what if you know in another mustard they say that we saw the moon but because this mustard goes by calculations or goes by you know, a greater sort of decision that was
made by for example, a larger organization of scholars etc. And so they decided you know what, next week Wednesday is going to be read but what if the moon was actually seen
and there's some massages that are doing it on Tuesday well it's the moon is actually seen trust me we're gonna be doing it on Tuesday as well right? We'll be doing it on the Tuesday as well.
Yeah
yeah. Yeah, it does happen.
It does happen Alhamdulillah and and that's that's something that's a reality if the moon is seen we're not going to close your eyes and pretend No, we didn't see the moon No, no, we announced is going to be Wednesday. Forget it. I know for sure we're gonna do it. But the point here is the brother was asking what if it's read on an earlier day in a different mustard or in in the GTA itself? Can we leave? I said, No, just chill. You came here for tea caf. Whatever this mustard decides go with that. He's like, what if our family's doing it on another day? That's okay for you. You're here. For you. It's animal bones. Still, you're still here. But how can it be in the same
city, don't worry about that. Don't worry about how it can be and how it can't be. Don't worry about it at all. Just follow what your what your locality is doing, what your community is doing. Go with your community, don't divide, don't divide. And we'll see that Subhanallah when we do that in our mustard, whatever mustard you go to regularly, whether it's this mustard or another mustard. When you do that, then slowly, every single one of the masajid will start to unite, and they will inshallah across the GTA all have arrived on the same day. It will happen, don't worry, don't worry, in a different part of Canada. That's a totally different story. If in Montreal, or in Ottawa, and
Vancouver, or you know, in Edmonton, they're doing it on a different day. That's totally irrelevant. We're going by what's in our community, we enjoyed that our entire city is doing it on the same day. And so so Pamela, the next few days will get a little bit more difficult because people will start to talk about the moon, and people will start to enjoy themselves and people will start to slack off. People will start to say we got Laila to Qatar. Didn't you see the sunrise this morning? It was rayless it was ArrayList sunrise, no rays coming from the sun. Okay. Did you look at it on the 25th? No, I missed it. Okay. Did you look at it on the morning of the 23rd? No, I missed it. Did you look
at it on the morning of the 21st No, I missed it. It was ArrayList as well. I was just talking to a brother he's he observes every night. And he was like Subhana Allah this year, it was really interesting. Because every single night felt like it was Laila to cuddle every single night of the odd nights. He's like you had certain signs. And this is a brother who sent me a bunch of signs the other day, he's like this. It was this was not and I sent him a message in response, I said, and it was Canada. And you know, we were fasting and we broke our fast so I was being a little sarcastic with him showing him and we did all of these extra things to like you saw the sun you saw this. And
he actually told me he's like, I hope you weren't offended. I'm like, No, we're friends. Mashallah, you know, I was just joking with you. I was pulling your leg to show you that Subhanallah you thought and you made it seem like we found they left the recorder and Allah subhana wa Taala showed us that almost every single one of the odd nights, there were some of the signs of laylatul recorder. So don't go by signs. And that's what I ended my message to him with. Don't go by signs work hard.
Work hard, every single one of the nights or every single one of the odd nights because then you're guaranteed that you got it and you don't need to wonder, was it the 21st? Oh, you know what the 23rd I was at some thought that went all the way until
and you didn't do anything we didn't even when we forgot to pray and shut up. Right? So had a lot. No, you don't need to worry about that. Because every single one of the nights, you did something great, even if it was something small, right? So we ask Allah subhanho wa Taala to make it easy for all those that are performing at the caf. I want to open it up for some questions. That's why I'm stopping early. I want you to be able to ask some questions, especially those that are performing at Cath and others as well. You can ask some questions in sha Allah hota.
With regards to time remember, time is something that we don't own. We don't own
But we have the ability to schedule here we have the ability to schedule it. And so you're in control of your own time. You can use your time how you want, No one forced you to come here today, unless you're the child of one of the parents, right? And your parents said you have to come. But no one technically forces us to come. Even myself. I didn't have to come today, I could have easily said, You know what? We're done with the recitation of the Quran. We went through the Tafseer hamdulillah. You know what, I just need a break. I just need a few days. Just give me a few days off. I'm not. I don't feel that coming. could have done that. Right. You're in control of your own
time. No one forced me to come here today. But we all came, we came because we want to continue to learn and we want to continue to be in the mustard in the house of Allah subhanho wa Taala. We want to remain in the safety and protection of the loss of hanaway Tana and the appointment of the angels above us, right that are watching over us. We want to sit here and pray son and remain here as well until a shot constantly seeking the forgiveness of Allah subhanho wa Taala Hannah, as the angels asked for our forgiveness and for blessings. And so remember that time is something that's given to us as a gift from Allah subhanho wa Taala Hannah, we know very well there's people during the month
of Ramadan that passed away, who thought they were going to celebrate with us, we know very well that there were people that passed away just before the month of Ramadan began by a day or two. And we know very well that we have no idea when we will leave this earth. And so we asked Allah Subhana Allah to Allah to make it easy for us to maximize always our time with everybody and every bad that can be various different sorts. We highlighted that I know some people are coming in and they might take things and say, oh, now we just have to spend our entire life in air decaf? No, you don't spend your entire life in erotica. This is why the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam did it in the last
10 nights of Ramadan, and not the entire month of Ramadan. All right, so we asked Allah subhana wa tada to grant us all forgiveness throughout this month of Ramadan. me. I'll open it up for some questions. chama
Good. Very good question. So the brothers asking how can we benefit the most from our decaf and not waste time? So
yesterday's hooked? I didn't do it here right. Okay. All right, Milton, handle I can't even remember yesterday feels like a year ago. Subhan Allah. Allah subhanho wa Taala shows us at the beginning of surah, two remote Menon. He says one Latina, Annie love we more are you doing? The believers are those who with regards to level, what is level level is ill speech. speech that is useless wasting your time on things that that don't benefit you. And the believers or those who leave off things that don't benefit them. Don't benefit you're yourself in your time.
And so Allah subhanho wa Taala shows us here.
Those that are performing erotica, make sure that you don't waste your time doing things that you wish you could continue doing for hours. Now let me explain this. You know, when you're playing video games, the youth playing video games for hours and hours on end. Is your son. Yeah, your son plays video games hours on it. You know, when you finish playing video games, or your parents tell you to stop playing? Do you want to continue? Or do you want to stop?
Hey, do you want to continue? Yeah, you want to continue and you play video games?
Yes or no? He's like, my dad's next to me. I can't speak right now. Please don't get me in trouble.
You play video games.
When you're told to stop playing video games, do you want to stop? Or do you want to keep playing?
Hey.
So you want to keep playing? So you want to keep playing? for us as adults? Those that don't play video games, right? Because we grew out of it. Or those adults that do play video games may have lost some kind of a dad to help you.
But those that have had a lot, you know, when you're chilling with your friends, for example, you're having that nights where it's just pure gupshup right? It's the night of just chilling. You just chilling with your friends. You're going out you're having fun that the night seems even though it might be a night in the middle of winter, right? It's a winter vacation. You have all night it's a long night, but it seems like it just flew by and went really really fast. And then you ask yourself how do we don't want this night to end we want this night to keep going we want to keep having fun. Why do you want to keep having fun? Ask yourself what did we do in this night that was beneficial?
Did you do anything that was good or beneficial? Like
Absolutely beneficial. Probably not just chilling and having fun, just relaxing. And sometimes it's okay to relax. But you ask yourself if we were to do this regularly all the time, would we benefit from this from these types of nights? No, we're just chilling. Right? We're just chilling. We're just having fun. As opposed to the night where you're sitting here now. And you're listening to me and you're looking at the seconds on that digital clock go 2122 23. When is he going to stop? When is when is it thought I'm going to come so we can eat? And it seems like it's going really slow, right? Yeah.
Doesn't it feel annoying when that happens? You're reciting the Quran, and you recite three pages and you're like, getting tired, my throats getting sore, I need to drink some water and you look at your watch. And you're like, I've only been reciting for two minutes. It seems like I've been reciting for 15 I thought I would recite another to another three pages. That will be a half an hour class. That's enough for me. But I've only been reciting for two minutes. So I need to recite for another 28 minutes. Oh Ha This is gonna take forever.
Don't look at it that way. Look at it from a different angle. Look at it from the angle of Allah put so much Buttercup in your time that you recited three pages of record and you thought it was 15 minutes and it was only two. That's how much butter cut you have in your time allows giving you so much blessings in your time. He's multiplying your time for you. It feels like it was forever but it wasn't it was just two minutes. But the night when you're chilling, and seven or eight hours passed by and you're like man that felt like just an hour. There's no buck in that time, right? There's no but I can that time that time just flew by. And that's an example of how Allah subhanho wa Taala
puts Baraka in the things that are good and righteous. And so when you're performing decaf, stay away from levels stay away from Ill talk that's just gonna make the time fly. Stay away from things that some kind of law, you know, are useless. You're not benefiting from you're having fun. Yes, but it's not something that's beneficial. So spend your time reciting the Quran. Spend your time even if you're going to sleep. Make boo boo. Recite to your doula or a site ayatul kursi. Recite surah EClass recites, the more I will attend that we spoke about the other night while I was a bit of Bill Falak allows a bit of badness, right blowing your hands three times wipe it on you the son of the
Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam lay down on your right side and go to sleep.
That becomes very bad. So you're still worshiping Allah, even though you're sleeping. So your mom and dad come and wake you up. It's time for fudger Wake up, wake up. I'm doing everybody.
All right. I'm doing
some kind of law, that's something that you know is good. We need to also try and make sure that what we're doing, even if it's our sleep, it's a type of worship of Allah subhanho wa Taala. So when you're in air decaf, maximize from even if you're sitting down. You might say you know what, I'm tired of reciting the Koran. And that's not something bad to say. People get tired because you recited it from from fudge up until vote, you're tired is in physically, your eyes are tired, you're tired of reciting it, your voice is tired, you're thirsty, you're tired, okay, take a break. Everything has its do right upon you. Take a break, finish volha and sit there and do nothing, do
nothing. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam teaches us when you pray your Salah, and then you sit there and you remain seated there from the time that you remain seated. The angels asked for your forgiveness. And they ask a lot to shower you with blessings from the time that you're seated, they're doing nothing. You don't even have to be asking for forgiveness. The angels are asking for your forgiveness. You don't have to do anything, just chill, just relax, just sit there and do nothing. And you see how Allah Subhana Allah gives us the layers, layers of goodness, forgiveness and blessings and Baraka etc. He gives it to us in so many different ways. And sometimes we don't
even have to do anything to get it. We just need to relax. So ironically, he couldn't let the Hackman hacker give everything its do right. And so another thing that we can do while we're performing erotica, is to stay away from the things that we're not supposed to do. So if you don't need to be interacting with the outside world, on the internet, on your phones or on your laptops, etc. If there's a business something that you need to do, it's you know, a necessity, you have to do it, then you can do it, but then come right back to your erotic half, right. So if it's something that's in necessity, you can go and do it. But don't waste your time outside. Okay, don't waste your
time doing things that you don't need to do.
I hope that helped. And Sharla
Bilal, yes, you had a question.
Volunteering one hour of your time since the beginning, but then you start to not notice that
the
Then.
And then you don't know that
then
another
very good question. Very good question because we can use what I said in different contexts right? Now a person might look at it and say, Oh, this hour is no longer beneficial because it flew by, right or I had so much fun while volunteering at, let's say, a food bank. And you know, the time flew by, I wish I could stay for longer stay for longer, right stay for longer, Allah subhanho wa Taala is increasing you in obedience and in righteousness. So when you see that you're doing something good, and it becomes easy for you, that's an indication that it's time for you to do a little bit more. Right, that's a time it's an indication, it's time for you to do a little bit more
simple example is someone who never ever wakes up for tahajjud ever. Now, because of Ramadan there, you know, I'm gonna wake up for tahajjud it's really easy, even if it's to Dhaka. So this person wakes up. And those two o'clock I feel very hard for them. And so they try, they try they try but then after a month, or 30 or 40 days, it becomes really easy, right? And then they think to themselves, wait a second, I can give another five minutes, what's five minutes, so you increase that's an indication from Allah that you're doing good. And you can continue to do more. And we always take our Deen in increments, we always increase a little bit slightly. And this is what I
mentioned at the beginning of Ramadan. Don't go and do so many things during Ramadan that you can not maintain them afterwards. Do a little bit feel comfortable with it and increase, keep increasing. And you will see that as the time goes on. All those things that you did, let's say now you're volunteering five hours, one hour here, one hour there two hours somewhere else in another, you know, and in in a different place. You're like, wow, that time just flies. And I never used to volunteer. Now I volunteer now I'm doing something, whatever it is, and I'm giving five hours of my time and it doesn't feel like anything. That's because I was putting Baraka in that time for you in
the time itself. And so we ask Allah subhanaw taala to constantly increase us in our ML and action doing good things for others, right? Is it as a huge part of our Deen believe in Allah and do righteous deeds believe in Allah and do righteous deeds believe in Allah it's mentioned in the Quran multiple times believe in Allah and do do good deeds. And so we need to be people that constantly do good zaca located and for that question, very good question. Someone here put their hand up Yes.
I feel
like
everybody
Mashallah, that's a very good piece of advice of how to LA and it's it's nice coming from someone who who's born and raised and your first language is Arabic. Right? Your first language is Arabic. And so he's saying so handle a very interesting example, that even though he's Arab speaking, and his first language his entire life is Arabic. And even though he's been reading the Quran, it's not until he actually went to try and understand the Quran and this is why Allah says in the Quran, I fell.
Don't think ponder over the Quran. Like don't just read it, look into it, dive into it. And the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam tells us how eurocon mentale ml Khurana Halima
The best from amongst us are those who learn the Quran and teach it. And I always say that learning the Quran is not to simply memorize from cover to cover, and then go teach someone else to memorize from cover to cover. And today, nowadays, our youth, they have a love back in the day when I was memorizing we would want our teachers to be someone who's older, whose beard is white, who we feel was learned nowadays from candlelight, the youth, they're saying, we don't want to learn from them anymore, because they just teach us the cover to cover the youth. So how do I know I was with the youth the other day, they said, We we prefer memorizing the Quran, from someone who's younger, who
understands what we go through, so that they can explain to us as well the verses as we're memorizing them. So it's important for us to have had a lot to learn the verses of the Quran, and understand what it means. And this is, you know, a thing that I've mentioned before, I think that we should do, take a verse that you enjoy listening to, we all have, you know, either a verse or a suit are part of the Quran, a favorite reciter, we pop that CD in our car we listen to, or maybe you know, it's it's a cassette that you used to listen to back in the day, try and find out what that verse is, or those verses, and look at the translation of it, and then ask about it or take the
books of Tafseer. Like, we have to see it in English now to see it had been Kathy, I think we have it on the shelves here somewhere, you know, so kind of like, look in the books of Tafseer as well. What does it mean, what what happened? What's the context, what came from this, what instances what what we're taking place when these verses were revealed, and try to relate to your own life. And write that verse down and put it in front of you somewhere where you always are, whether it's on the top of your computer screen, or it's on your sun visor, right in your car, or it's next to your pillow. When I was a student in Medina, I would always put the things that I needed to memorize and
learn on the wall right next to my pillow. So I would lay down and I would see them. And the first The last thing I see at night is that and the first thing I see in the morning is that as well. So it melts itself. It burns into your brain, like you burn a CD, it burns into your brain right onto the hard disk. And when you learn the Quran, and you start to live by one verse at a time, one verse, remember this a habit of the Allahu anhu they would not come to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam and say, Oh, you know what, teach me the whole Quran, they would come and they would take no more than seven verses
seven versus 10 some of them 10. And they would not go on and learn more until they were implementing that in their lives and living by it, then they would learn more. Some of this habit of the Aloha gnomes spent two years simply learning one sort of the Quran years on one slide. And so learning the code and means that we ponder over it, and we learn it and we implement it in our lives as well. Any other questions?
Yes.
Very good. The recommended time to leave ere decaf is when it's declared that the next day is eat which means most of the day
after right after marketed on the last day of Ramadan. So Ramadan ends, we break our fast palace. It's done. Right?
The next morning, that's fine if you want to stay on till the next morning, as long as the mustard is okay with that. That's fine. All right. As long as the mustard is okay with it, there's no problem, right? So you can stay you can stay longer as the house of Allah subhana wa Tada, right. But we also have to make sure that the mustard is going to transform on that night, it's going to be cleaned from top to bottom, everything's going to be removed the next day is aid excetera it's going to be jam packed with people. So of course, we need to also respect that but there's nothing wrong from an Islamic perspective is the person performing acting calf wants to leave as soon as the event
is called and you break your fast and how long you're going to go pray in the masjid near your home, go ahead or stay for a month and then go and go home have your tie and whatever you know enjoy some time with the family get ready for eat on the next day inshallah. A person can stay if they want until he then go home after eat. There's nothing wrong with that. But the actual time when it's over is when Ramadan is over. Right? Yes.
No, that's fine. See at the time of the profits and longer I need to send them there's something flying around and if someone can catch this thing, that would be great. Because I know it's gonna freak people out during solar, especially the sisters right
now, I don't mean kill it. I mean, catch it, maybe just opened the door and let it go out seats by the window now. It'd be nice to let it go. And so the intention for for I shouldn't really say intention but you are
decaf itself, staying within the mustard. So what is the mustard, this is the mustard, the place where we make sujood. Now in this Masjid, I would consider that side to also be the mustard. Okay, right through these doors, that side is also the mustard because we pray there regularly.
And so this area is fine at the time of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam errante calf, when you're performing it, you don't have ease of simply going right through this door and the bathrooms are there, you would have to go out in the desert, walk away to where people can't see you, relieve yourself, use the bathroom and then come back. And this is why, you know, in the Hanafi madhhab, you'll see that this the scholars, it's an opinion in this in the Hanafi madhhab that they say you cannot or you should not take a shower or a hosel unless it's a compulsory hosel. Or you absolutely have to. That's because you would have to wander very far away away from people in order to take
that shower where no one could see you and then come back. But nowadays the shower is right here in the washrooms right there. So you just go you simply use it and you come back in. You don't there's no you don't need to renew your intention or make another intention. You simply go and relieve yourself and come right back. If someone wants to renew their intention, there's nothing wrong with that. renewing your intention is good. We need to always in any type of very bad any type of worship, we should check our intention before we do it while we're doing it. And when we finished doing it as well. And so check our intentions even during z cash. You might be sitting in here and
you'd like why am I here? What is the Why? Why am I here? Remind yourself why you're here and why you're doing what you're doing. And when you're done you're guaranteed cash you don't leave and say some kind of 100 alarm glad that's over right? No you check your intention. Why did I do that? I did that for the sake of pleasing Allah subhanho wa Taala and I will see those rewards on the Day of Judgment. So I don't need to you know, renew an intention because it's compulsory. No, I do it because I'm checking my intention all the time. And this is from the Sunnah of the Prophet sallallahu Adiga, Sunnah. And this habit of the Allah and one would always be doing that. We're
going to end there in sha Allah because the ln is very soon. We ask Allah subhana wa tada to make it easy for those who are performing ft calf to continue and do so tomorrow as well. We will have our Hanukkah from the same time in Sharla and the day after as well right up until right up until the more techie thing leave that's when we will be here in sha Allah so don't stay for 10 days after as well because then I have to keep coming every 10 days or every day. We ask Allah subhana wa tada to accept our good deeds and our fasts and our the yam and recitation of the Quran. We ask Allah subhana wa tada to grant us forgiveness during this month of Ramadan and to make it easy for our
family members to also benefit from this month of Ramadan. I mean listen a lot of sentiment about again and Amina Mohammed Ali usrp are selling which is located in Santa Monica medical to LA to over the counter
