The story of Isa alaihi salaam and Yahya

alaihi salaam, or just go further, Zakariya alaihi

salaam and Mariam alaihi salaam is mentioned together

right next to each other in the Quran

in Surah Alaihi Salam, in Surah Alaihi Salam,

and even in today's gospel of the yuk.

While focusing on Surah Alaihi Salam because we'll

be reciting 3rd just tonight,

the story of Zakari alaihi salam, we can

learn so many things, but one thing which

we need to learn today is that one

reflection from the Zakari alaihi salaam story coming

right next to Maria alaihi salaam story

is that if you think about it, Zakari

alaihi salaam is getting very old. He's not

able to have a son.

And his wife, whose biblical name is Elizabeth,

after

having so many attempts, they couldn't have a

son. They couldn't have a baby.

And at the end of the day, Allah

after the dua

blessed them with a son called Yahya, John

the Baptist, the biblical name.

On the other hand, Mary or Mariam alayhi

salam,

she did not even try once

to have a physical relationship, but still Allah

out of his divine wisdom, give her a

son,

Jesus, or Quranic name, Raeesah alaihis salam.

Think about it, my brothers and sisters. Both

these stories are coming right next to each

other is a lesson for

us. What is that lesson? 1st,

that Zakaria alayhis salaam, despite of the fact

making so many attempts

of having a baby, for having a child,

but he couldn't have it.

And Mariam alayhi salaam didn't make any effort,

and yet Allah gave her a child. It's

a sign that it's Allah's planning

whom to give and when to give. We

can make an effort.

We can

struggle. But at the end of the day,

results are in the hand of Allah Subhanahu

Wa Ta'ala. Sometime you will see

that people who are more qualified than you,

their resume is more heavier than you, but

still, they might not able to find a

job, and you have a better job than

them. It's not about you. It's not about

your skill set. It's not about your talent.

It's about Allah divine

wisdom.
