Asif Hirani – Ayah of the Night Ramadan Day 11

Assalamu alaykum wa Rahmatullah.

Today we were going to discuss an ayah

from just 11th. Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says

in the ending of Surah Tawba.

O you who believe, have taqwa of Allah,

Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, be God conscious

and be with the truthful people. Be with

the people who speak truth.

Think about it. While Allah

is saying, be with the truthful people,

Allah could have said be righteous or be

with the righteous. But Allah says be with

the truthful people. Allah wants us to find

a truthful friend who has an ability to

speak truth and to basically befriend him. This

is an extremely important

in our times. We are living in a

very egoistical society. We want to be friends

with those people who can confirm our feelings,

who can tell us how we want to

hear, not we what we have to hear.

Allah is telling us, you need a truthful

friend.

A friend who can tell

you that you have this issue, you have

to fix this issue. You have this problem,

you have to fix this problem. Even if

we don't like, we need these friends who

can consistently remind us and speak the truth.

I ask Allah to give us true friends.
