In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most
Merciful.
All praise is due to Allah, Lord of
the worlds.
And the best of prayers.
And I submit to the master of the
first and the last.
Our master Muhammad, beloved of the Lord of
the worlds.
And to his good people, and his noble
companions, and those who follow them with kindness
and guidance until the Day of Judgment.
And we are obliged to be with them
and in them by your mercy, O most
merciful of the merciful.
O Allah, teach us what benefits us, and
benefit us with what you have taught us.
And increase us in knowledge, O Generous.
O Lord, open my heart and ease my
affairs.
And loosen the knot of my tongue, so
that my speech may be understood.
All praise is due to Allah.
We begin this gathering reciting verses of the
Quran.
And one of the verses that we recite
every week in this gathering is a verse
that should really inspire within us a sense
of appreciation for the Prophet, peace and blessings
be upon him, and his family and companions.
Allah says, There has come to you a
messenger from among yourselves.
That he is distressed by your suffering, the
difficulties that you go through.
He is full of concern for you.
And that he is full of compassion and
mercy to the believers, We really have to
think about that.
And when we think about someone who's very
dear to us, or someone who's looked out
for us, someone who's had our back, or
someone who's defended us, or supported us in
a difficult time, we feel a deep sense
of appreciation for that person.
And if we think about the Prophet, peace
and blessings be upon him, and his family
and companions, and this is something that he
is full of mercy and concern for the
believers, that applies to his entire Ummah.
That implies, that applies to each and every
last one of us.
That he, peace and blessings be upon him,
is distressed by our suffering.
That he, peace and blessings be upon him,
is full of concern for the believers.
And some of the Mufassireen, they say that
he is full of concern when the believers
disobey Allah.
It hurts him, peace and blessings be upon
him.
And that should inspire within us a sense
of shyness, that we would bring that to
his heart, peace and blessings be upon him.
And that we know in these gatherings, and
in all of the reminders that we've heard,
by strengthening our connection to the Prophet, peace
and blessings be upon him, and using this
imaginative faculty that we've been given, to envision
him, and our relationship with him, and his
care for us, peace and blessings be upon
him, that although he is in the barzakh,
he is in the life of the grave,
it continues on.
That that inspires within us a sense of
loyalty, and love, and desire to follow his
way, and to serve his way, and his
Ummah.
We ask Allah, peace and blessings be upon
him, that he strengthen that connection, and that
he make us of those people who bring
the greatest amount of joy to his blessed
heart, peace and blessings be upon him, and
that he makes us people of service, he
makes us people of love, and brotherhood, and
sisterhood, and unity.
And peace and blessings be upon our Master
Muhammad, and upon his family and companions.
And all praise is due to Allah, Lord
of the worlds.
