The Prophet ﷺ was sitting with the Sahaba,
and he started to smile, a very unique
and large smile.
He was very pleased.
So Sayyidina Umar ﷺ says, O Messenger of
Allah ﷺ, by my father and mother, what
is it that's making you smile?
And he ﷺ said, he's informing of something
that was unveiled to him from the unseen.
There are two men from my Ummah who
were on their knees, sitting before the Lord
of Might.
And one of them says to Allah ﷻ,
my Lord, this man has wronged me, so
give me my right from him.
So then Allah ﷻ speaks to the other
man, and He says, give him back the
right that you owe him.
And the second man, he says, my Lord,
I have no good deeds left.
What am I going to give him?
I have nothing left, no good deeds left.
So then Allah ﷻ then asks the first
man, who's asking for his rights, so now
what are you going to do with your
brother?
He doesn't have any more good deeds.
So the man says, my Lord, let him
take some of my sins.
As the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is telling
the story, he begins to cry.
And he says, that is such a great
day, it is such a weighty day that
people will have to give their sins to
other people, that they'll even be comfortable with
someone taking their sins on their behalf.
يَوْمَ يَفِرُّ الْمَرْءُ مِنْ أَخِي وَأُمِّهِ وَأَبِي That
a person will run away from his brother
and his mother and father, his own children
and wife, because everyone is too concerned with
their own ultimate outcome on that day.
So then Allah ﷻ says to the one
who's asking for his right, raise your head
and look up, and look into paradise.
So then he sees all of these valleys
in paradise, and he sees a palace of
gold and silver and pearls.
And then he says, Does this belong to
a prophet?
Which prophet does this belong to?
Which Siddiq does this belong to?
Which martyr does this belong to?
