from the articles of faith that every single Muslim has something that we all believe in as Muslims, is that we believe that after this life, Allah subhanho wa Taala will resurrect us on a day, a day of judgment will alert Zola gentlemen hold us to account for everything that we accomplished and achieved in this dunya whether good or bad, there is an article of faith where every single Muslim has and to show and highlight the importance of this day and this event, normal pm on the Day of Judgment. alarms were in the Koran and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in his Sunnah, as was the customs of the Arabs in their language. They described this day using many different terms. It
has many different names, and in the Arabic language, it was their customs and when they gave importance to something, they will display it with many, many names. So for example, in the Arabic language things and in the Arabic culture, things that they hold dear to themselves things that are of importance to them. In the community and their society, they will given many names. For example, the word the word sword in the Arabic language has many terms by which it is known courage, bravery, these are things that the Arabs held dear to them, because in their tribalistic nature, they were also warriors. And so these things were important to them. So they gave them many, many names. And
likewise, when alaric xojo revealed the origin he followed this same setup, that anything was of extreme importance in our religion, in the Arabic language, it has also given many names. So for example, the Koran The Book of Allah subhanho, wa Taala, has many, many names within the Quran itself and in the Sunnah as well. Likewise, our Prophet salaallah alayhi wa sallam has many, many names that he is known by many descriptions that is referred to using them. And likewise the Day of Judgment, because of its importance, because that is the day that Alonzo will will resurrect everyone and hold them to account. And it is just one of those things that I want to bring to your
attention in this lecture. And from that, inshallah, I will go into the actual topic of arrogance. One of the descriptions that a large surgeon has given the Day of Judgment, one of the names that is given to it in the Koran is your will has won the day of regret the day of remorse, because that Day, will be more regretful and remorseful than any other day that you experience. If in the dunya, you haven't done your duty, in terms of worshipping Allah, believing in Allah, coming closer to Allah subhana wa Taala than the regret that you will feel and the remorse that you will experience on that day will be unlike anything else that you've ever experienced. And that's why the true
regret is the regret and remorse that a person feels on that day, when they realize that they haven't achieved the pleasure of Allah and His mercy and His forgiveness and his gender. But rather instead, they have incurred The Wrath of Allah and the anger of Allah and Allah azza wa jal will punish them with the fire. And the spawners mentioned many reasons why people will be remorseful on that day. But one of the main reasons that a person will be remorseful is because of certain characteristics and traits that they had in the dunya certain attributes that they possessed as part of their character that will diminish the reward a normal piano, it will nullify good deeds, it will
have make the missed opportunities in the dunya to worship Allah. Because of these traits, they will have done evil and harm towards others. And because of this, they will suffer regret a normal piano. Allah azzawajal says in the Quran, one
is
letting me know and move them of the day of regret when the orderable law will be established, and the people will be in a state of negligence because of their lack of belief, because they believed in Allah and in Islam. And one of those reasons one of those treats that a person will regret on that day, there will be a source of demise and destruction and it is
source of destruction in the dunya as well, before we even reach human piano. It is the trait of arrogance that a person has this type of arrogance and pride. What is arrogance? arrogance is as the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam described that a person rejects the truth, and they look down upon others. This is the description of arrogance, that you reject the truth. So when you know, for example, that something has been established in our religion, through the Koran, or through the authentic son of our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, yeah, because of your desires, because of for example, your pre ordained beliefs, maybe because of the culture that you are brought up in, for
whatever reason, you reject that truth. That is a type of arrogance, to reject the truth when you know that Allah wants something from you that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam instructed you to do something, or the opposite they, they ordered you to stay away from something that you reject all of that, that is a type of arrogance. And the second description given for arrogance is that you frown upon others, you look down upon them, you think you're better than them, you think you have a higher status than them for whatever reason, and we'll come into some of those reasons. inshallah, throughout this lecture, what is amazing is that when you analyze the Quran, the Book of Allah
subhana wa Jalla alarge, when Joel mentioned the story of many of the past prophets, as you all know, we have the stories of many of the prophets and the previous nations. And there are very few things that are in common for all of them. There are a number of things that are common between them. And one of those things that is common between all of those past nations that are loved destroyed, is that all of them had this type of arrogance. Because when a person just believes in Allah, and they reject the truth, and they reject the prophets that Allah sent to them, and the books that Allah revealed to them, that is a type of extreme arrogance, Alonzo which I mentioned in
the Quran, the story of our forefather Adam alayhis, salaam, the father of humankind, the first person that a lot created, and everyone knows that before Allah created Adam and Eve is Sam, he believes Siobhan was in the company of the angels. He was someone who believed in Allah, He knows the true existence of a larger region, that a lot is real that allows all of these powers and abilities subpoena what Tyler, he's a believer in a law in that sense. So he was in the company of the angels, and it was only a man alive. So we created our forefather Adam, and he sent him and he ordered all of the angels to Prostrate to Adam, and because he believes was in the company of the
angels, this order also included him that they should all prostrate to our father Adam alayhis salaam, now prostration of worship prostration of respect, because of the order of a loss of pain and with China, a lot of surgeon mentions that the first reason what led to at least his disbelief, and his rejection of Allah subhanho wa Taala. And his commandment was this very trait and characteristic of arrogance, a large zoologist says in the Quran, in many verses, was born in Milan, Julie Adam, for surgery, in LA, he believes Abba was born. What can I mean and caffeine, and remember when we ordered all of the angels, that they should put straight to the to the to Adam and
he sent them and so all of them fell in prostration except for the police, he refused, and he was arrogant, and he was from the disbelievers. Allah says, clearly that he refused, and he was arrogant. What was the reason for his arrogance as a lot then mentioned, by Allah and a few min Hakone. Now, Dr. Herman Cain, he said, Oh Allah, I am better than him. Why should I have to prostrate to him? He created me from fire, and he is created from clay. And so because of that logic, that perverse reasoning that he had, he refused to obey the commandment of Allah. And that arrogance led not only to his rejection of religion of the last panel darlin his worship, but it
made him an outcast until Yama, Yama, arrogance. And that's why the scholars of Islam say that even disbelief corfo our center, it is arrogance, that a person is arrogant, too arrogant to worship Allah, too arrogant to believe in Allah, too arrogant to accept the message of Allah subhana wa Tada. And even though hamdulillah Muslims will believe in Allah, we accept the Koran, and we follow the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, but when we reject parts of our religion, we pick and choose what we would rather apply and the
Other things that we just don't think suitors. We don't want to apply that to has a type of arrogance attached to it. And it doesn't just stop at the Prophet Adam Allah He said that he believes was arrogant towards him and that led to his rejection of the commandment of Allah. But Allah throughout the Koran mentions the stories of the major prophets, and all of the major nations that came before us. And you will find that a lot pinpoints that one of the reasons for their disbelief. One of the reasons for their ship, for rejecting their prophets for rejecting the divinely revealed scriptures that Allah sent to them, was the arrogance that they possessed. For
example, a large zoologist says about the people of the Prophet no Halle, Sarah, and no, was the first messenger that Allah sent to the people of the earth. He came at a time when people had first started committing shift, first started worshipping other than Allah, and for 950 years, just shy of a millennia. He called people to Allah, that they should return to Allah, that they should accept the heat, that they should worship Allah alone, they should leave up these idols, imagine 950 years, calling the same people to exactly the same message. And a larger which summarizes his message in the Koran and what took place in Solano. And one of the things that he says concerning the Prophet
and his people, is what he says on the tongue of his prophet no Holly Sam, well in equal lemma doubt, to whom little fear Allah home journal wasabia houfy Danny him was stellar Sophia who was stuck Bostick, Bara, the prophet, no, Halle Salaam says, As Allah mentions in the Quran, that every single time I call them to you over law, so that you may give them forgiveness. This was the reason for this call, that Allah could forgive them. They don't want money, didn't want to marry someone from their family, didn't want to go into business wasn't asking for anything major. All he wanted was for them to believe in a law. So that internal law could forgive them. Every single time I
called them to our law, so that you may forgive them, they would place their fingers in their ears, and they would lift up their clothes, meaning so they could run away. And they would be adamant in their, in their, in their disbelief, and they would be extremely arrogant. That is how Allah describes them. People who because of their arrogance, wouldn't accept the message of the Prophet alayhi salam. And Allah mentions in other parts of the story of the Prophet note that his people would often say to him, why should we follow you, when the only people that believe in You are the weak and the poor? The weak people in our society, the people who have no status, they have no
money, no wealth, they have no position, they are your followers. Why should we need ourselves to be alongside them. And the arrogance, that type of thinking, in led to the disbelief in Allah ultimately led to the destruction as well.
marzotto concerning another great prophet of Allah, the prophet who died he sent him and his people that people have added to a large dojo gave them an immense ability, that they would have so much strength, so much power, so much * on the earth, they became a superpower of their time. But along with that power and *, it led to them having extreme arrogance. And because of the arrogance, they rejected the prophet who that Allah has set up a large social system, the Quran from
Battlefield odbl, a
woman a shot domina As for the people of ad, then they were extremely arrogant. And they began to boast and say, who is more powerful than us, they thought that no one could destroy them. No one could overpower them. No one could overcome them. But Allah says, lol, amuro and Allahu Allah, the hula, hula shadow men who did they not understand not know that Allah is the one who created them. And therefore he is more powerful than them. Will can will be if you don't, and they would reject our verses. And then the last speaks about how we destroyed them a lot, just destroy them outright, for the arrogance that they had that led to the disbelief and rejection of Allah. We are another
great prophet in the Quran, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi salam, and his people, the people of the moon, and the people of thermowood. Again, what are people that Allah gave to the many of the blessings of the dunya and then Allah sent to them the Prophet silent, and he gave them miracles, and he showed them the way back to a larger region, but also the to disbelieved, and one of the main reasons for their disbelief was also because of the arrogance that was in there.
Hearts alaric xojo says in the Quran for the lady in the stuck Ballroom in comi little lady in a story full name and M and I mean whom attalla Mona and Natalia Mr. Luna, Robbie, Paulina Bhima or Sheila beam moon fall under the inescapable inability to be careful. And the people, the leaders, the nobility of their people, the people of the mood. They said to those who are weak from amongst their people, those people who believed in the message of sila Halley's sallam, do you think that this man sorry, he's a messenger of Allah? He's a prophet of Allah? And they replied, Yes, we believe in him, that he is from Allah and the Prophet of Allah. So those people who are arrogant and
proud, they said, rather we believe in that which you believe in Allah, He describes them. And he describes many of the other nations and the people who are the leaders of those nations. Allah calls them mana levy in Peru, the nobility that would have arrogance, the nobility of arrogance, those people who because of their position, the wealth, the status and position in society, because they were the chiefs and the nobles and the leaders, it led them to have arrogance. And they couldn't accept that a person who perhaps wasn't as rich as them wasn't as as as powerful as them didn't come from a noble family like they did, that that person should have guidance rather than themselves, and
even to our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam for people of origin would often say that if he had come with something which was good, then surely the nobility would have believed in it before the week and and the sleeves before the poor and the weak and the slaves, surely the nobility would have realized that it was a message from Allah, they would have believed in it before the weak and the poor and the old and so on and so forth. That again, in the Quran, Allah azza wa jal brings to our attention the story of another prophet, this time the puppet shows his solemn and his people, the people of Midian and how he too, was rejected by his people because of their arrogance, alarm, so
which will says in the Quran, pardon me that will lead in the stock Ballroom in pomi lonoke region nakaya Shrine levena Amanullah come in Korea, Tina, Ola, Terra, Luna, female Latina. Again, the nobility of arrogance. They said to him, and those people who believed with him, there are either you will go back apostate from your religion and come back to our way or we will exile you from the land. That's what they said to him. Because of the arrogance. And again, a larger region describes the arrogance of Allah subhanho wa Taala mentioned in the story in the story that is oft repeated, repeated more than any other story in the Quran. And that is the story of Musa alayhis salam, and is
called to Pharaoh and his people. And Alonzo Mitchell describes Pharaoh and the actions of Pharaoh and the description of Pharaoh in the Quran and he says, work on your own. Yeah, you Holman oma alum Tula Camilla Henry, Pharaoh said, Oh my people, I don't know that you have a god other than me. That was how the arrogance of Pharaoh had. That was the extent to which the arrogance of Pharaoh had become very thought that there was no other God, no other Lord except himself for opening the man alakina for john the Sahaba nandina illa Illa he Musa Nila luminol caddy Benin. So he said to one of his advisors, another disbeliever one of his nobility, a man by the name of high man, he said, make
for me a ladder that will reach to the heavens, so that I may climb this ladder and see if I can find this Lord, that Moosa claims to have. And indeed, I think that he is a liar. Who can how much arrogance he had? Look at To what extent his arrogance took him that he had the audacity to say that I will climb upon the heavens and see for myself if there is such a Lord above the alarm soldier describes him in the next verse, And he says, was stuck bhairahawa julu to fill out.
So he and all of his army, all of his people, they were arrogant in the earth without any Jew, right? was one new unknown Elena, you gentlemen, and they thought that they would never return to us for the now who would you know, the front of but now feel young. And so we took him and all of his army and we drowned them in the ocean.
And that is a common trait that we find in all of these stories. The people have known and the people who'd and the people have solid, and the people of shrine and the people of Moosa one common trait that they do have, because of this arrogance that they possessed with
was the robot district one of them, all of them were destroyed, outright decimate destroyed by a large region because of the disbelief and the arrogance that they possessed. Even in our time, that even in the time of our Prophet sallallahu, he was still them. One of the main reasons that the orange didn't believe in our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was because of the arrogance that they possessed the arrogance that they had. And it was the arrogance that led them to disbelieve in Allah, we reject the Koran, reject the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam. And it was because of the arrogance, that a lot defeat them, that he gave victory to the Muslims. And that's why the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said
in a verse in the famous Hadith, that the one who has even an atom's written arrogance will never enter into gender. Even an atom's rate of arrogance, that person will never enter into gender. Because arrogance is something which allows the tests and alarms though which will frowns upon severely. Allah subhanaw taala mentioned
that one of the reasons why a person rejects the verses of Allah and the silence of Allah is because of the arrogance. We don't equally affect a theme. Allah says in Surah, three Jaffa will be to every sinful liar. Yes, Allah He took law, he hears the verses of Allah being recited from you so rooms tech Bureau, but he continues in his arrogant ways, color mismatch, as if he never heard those, those verses of Allah can nephew Rooney, he Baccarat as if there is something in his ears, that is stopping that message being received, for the shuttle will be either been a limb, so give him the news of a painful punishment. That is what a large soldier says. That is how he describes those
people with arrogance. Because arrogance, my dear brothers and sisters in Islam, it leads a person away from the path of Allah leads a person away from accepting the signs and the verses of Allah. And unfortunately, even today, we see that this is the state of the Muslims. When you ask a Muslim, why don't you pray? Why don't you fast? Why don't you give sadaqa? Why have you made how to even though you're able to, why don't you conform to the principles of Islam, follow the Quran and the teachings of our profits on a low where it was seldom, they will give you many excuses. And many of them have an element of arrogance in them. Either they will think that they know better than you.
But you don't they don't have to do this, but they don't need to do this, that alone will forgive them irrespective of the sins that they commit. Or that you they understand this time better than you and better than all of the scholars of Islam who came before them. However they interpret this, there is always an element of arrogance. And that's why one of the traits that the companions have brought the loved one. One of the things that made them unique was when they would hate when they when they would hear a commandment of Allah, or commandment of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, they would rush to implement it. They would accept completely, they would submit to it never
would you hear one of them question it will try to second guess it will try to find a way to go out of it to find an excuse or a loophole that would exempt them from it. Rather they would rush to adhere to those teachings of Allah and His Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, because they will people have humility and humbleness. And that is the opposite of arrogance. And that's why even the likes of Rama rhodiola one, the great companion, the person who the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said concerning him, though when he walks on the street shaped barn takes a different Street, even shaped barn is set of armor that if he walks down one street shaped barn will go when he will
cross the road, out of fear of Ramallah, viola one, and everyone knows how he was his character, his personality, the way that he was the status that he had amongst the companions. But even if he was to hear a commandment of Allah, he would lower his head and he would cry, he would submit, he would rush to adhere to those teachings. And that's why the companion said, or the alarm rang him concerning or that despite his courage, his bravery, despite all of those different traits that he had, in his personality, can are often in the key tabula. He was a person would stop just by hearing a single verse of Allah. Someone recited a verse of the Quran, he would just stand still stop,
wouldn't go any further, wouldn't try to do anything to do, to counter run, counter man, that verse of the Quran. This is how the companions were robbed the last one. The prophet SAW
Lower hourly you will send them said that a person who has even an activist rate of kibber, of arrogance in their hearts, they will never enter into gender. One of the men, one of the companions, he said, O Messenger of Allah, indeed a person likes that he should wear nice clothes, and he should wear my shoes, because that's how he understood the statement of the purpose of selling them, that the professor said, I'm saying that arrogance is by wearing certain types of clothes or shoes, or the type of car that you drive or house that you live in. So the profits on the long run, he will sell them said, that is arrogance. Rather, arrogance is that you reject the truth, and you look down
upon others. And that's why in our religion, there is nothing wrong with wearing nice clothes. Nothing wrong with having a nice car, nothing wrong with having a good job, living in a nice house, enjoying the luxuries of the dunya, so long as that you keep that perspective in your mind. But your main goal is to please allies, the agenda, but those luxuries, those things that you have, they don't lead to rejection of the truth. And they don't need to looking down upon others. And it's unfortunate and all of us know this as a reality. That one of the main reasons why families split up, but brothers don't talk to their sisters, parents don't talk to their children, why we have in
our families and in our relatives, so many disputes. It is because we allow these things to come before our religion. And so we have our guns, we think we're better than others. And so because of that we're not willing to humble ourselves to their level. We think that we deserve this land or this money or this inheritance more than they do. And so we won't care about whether it's right or wrong halal or haram. But we'll just use whatever means we can by hook or by crook, to take that for ourselves. And this leads to arrogance, and the leads to this type of breaking our families apart. And all of this is something which the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam mentioned, in another
Hadith the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said in Sahih, Muslim shenana informed me of the people of gender. He said it is every single humble person who shows humility. That is the description of the people of gentlemen, people of humility, people of humbleness, like the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam we would sit with at times the nobility of Polish, but then he would spend time with even the poorest of people. And he wouldn't ever become have this haughty prideful attitude that this person is too poor or too weak, doesn't have a position in our society. He would sit with the slaves and he will sit with the poor, sit with the homeless, and he would spend time
with them, and he would enjoy their company. And that's why NSW Malik rhodiola said, as is collected in Sangha body, that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was someone who was approachable by everyone, to the extent that a slave girl and then slave girl would come, and she would grab his hand, and she would take him to wherever he wants, she wanted to go in Medina, and he would never take his hand away. A little girl Come, take the profits on the lower and he will sell them, grab his hand, and take him to wherever she wanted. A slave girl, and he will never say anything, will take your hand take his hand away. Wouldn't Rebekah wouldn't say that he's busy, doesn't have time.
He will just follow and go wherever she wanted him to go. That was the character of our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. And then the prophets of Salaam said shall inform you have the people of the house fire. It is every arrogant, proud, haughty individual. That is the description of the fire. And that's why in another Hadith the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said that the fire of * and Jenna paradise, they argued with one another, and the fire of * said that I am better than you For indeed I am the one that Allah places within me the haughty and arrogant and the pride and gentleness set to the fire that I am better, because I am the one was every poor individual,
every week individual, every oppressed individual, and so allies which will arbitrate in between the two. And he said to the fire, you are my punishment, I will punish with you, whomsoever I will. And he said to gender, you are my mercy, I will give it to whomsoever I will.
And so that shows that a large silver gel has placed the people of arrogance and pride in the fire, and the people of humbleness and humility within his gender. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, there are three types of people that a large soldier will not speak to them and yarmulke Yama, and he will not purify them, nor will he looked at them. And from amongst those people he mentioned, was a person who is poor, yet even so he's still arrogant. Why? Because that person is poor. He has nothing to me.
arrogant about it still, he has this arrogance, even though it's nothing to be arrogant about isn't, is a wealthy is a powerful doesn't have any position or status, yet still he is arrogant, that is even more disliked to Allah. And so Allah will not even talk to that person, a normal piano. abora said, we're reading from the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that a large religion says in the hadith of bootsy, that greatness is my cloak. And arrogance is my pride. arrogance sorry, is my robe. And whosoever wishes to contest me in any one of these two things, then I will fight him. greatness and this type of pride, and this type of knowing that you are better than everyone else
and everything else. Those are traits of Allah alone, because all of us are humans, we are weak, all of us are slaves and servants of Allah. No one has that claim to that greatness except Allah alone. And then to whomsoever Allah gives it to that is something which belongs to a large region alone. And that's why I'm one of the Allah one would say, that a person, if they show humility and humbleness, when through the humility and humbleness for the sake of Allah, Allah will raise the status. And even though they may think about themselves, that they are humble and weak, in the eyes of the people, they will have a great status. Whereas those people who think that they are they have
arrogance and pride, and they think that they are better than everyone else, Allah will humiliate them. So even though they in their own eyes think that they are great in the eyes of the people that are weak and humiliated. And that is how this works. And that's why the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, Whosoever shows humility for the sake of Allah, Allah will raise his status. And that's what the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would do. That's what Abu Bakr and Omar would do, they would show humility and humbleness to extend the armor of the Allah one was walking in the streets of Medina, and with him was sadly been a bit of a pass for the long run. Another thing was
campaigning, and a woman came, and she stood in front of him in front of the halifa, not just any leader, Rama, and she started to, she started to complain to him, of how poor she was, how difficult her life was, her she had no one to look after. And she complained, complained and complained. And she began to remind him of a law and death, a normal piano, and how she would hold him to account for all of this. And one of the law, one began to cry. And he cried so profusely, that his beard became wet with tears. And so sadly, when you walk past will stand in watching this, looking at our crying, and this is Rama. And so he said to the woman Enough, enough, don't you see what you've done
to armor. So I'm gonna do a lot one turn sad him who pass and he said, leave her alone. Because before she came to me with her complaints, a lot already knew them. And if Allah above the seven heavens and also complaints, then there is only right under fitting that I should know them upon the that is how I'm one of the Allahu Akbar was, and one of the Allahu Akbar was once in his house, or one, sorry, in Medina, and an old Bedouin man came to him from the desert. And he began to complain to him about how poor he was, to the extent that he said that he had young children, daughters and sons, and he couldn't grow them, didn't have any clothes for them. And that Omar was responsible
because he's the halifa. He's the leader, it is his job, his responsibility to make sure that his family is looked after Mr. rhodiola, when he went into his house, to look for something to give to him, and he came out and he had nothing qualified anything. This is the halifa, the most powerful man in the Muslim lands in the Muslim Empire, couldn't find a single thing. So he took off the top piece of his comments, he had an upper robe and a lower robe. And he took off his upper garment, and he gave it to the man. The man said, What is this armor set by Allah, I have nothing more. That is all I possess, I can't give you both of my roles, I need the bottom part for myself. The only thing
that I can give you is my upper garment. Take it, that's all that I have. And this is how the companions are the Allahumma. And there are many, many examples of this. And that's why the scholars say the arrogance is from the greatest, most major sins, the most evil diseases of the heart. One of the things that will corrupt a person to the extent that he can, in his extremes, even lead to disbelief in Allah. And we've already given examples of how the past nations because of the arrogance in led to disbelief. So even having that small atoms rate of arrogance that is dangerous, because it can continue to expand and expand and continue to boil over and roll over.
And become more dangerous until he leads to something more serious. That's why the scholars say that there are three types of arrogance. The first and the worst of it is when a person is arrogant towards Allah. They think that they don't need to worship Allah. They don't need to pray. They don't need to give zakah they don't need to follow the commandments of Allah. That is the worst type of arrogance and alarge which it says in the in the laziness bureau Nan Riba that he said, Haruna Jana muda. Even those verily those people were arrogant about worshipping Allah, they will enter into Hellfire for eternity. That is the worst type of arrogance. Then the second level, which is also
extremely dangerous and extremely evil, is that a person is arrogant towards our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam they don't think they need to follow the commandments of Allah. They don't need to follow the commandments of the prophet SAW seldom, they no need to follow the Sunnah of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam and his teachings, that is also an extremely dangerous type of arrogance. And then the third type is the arrogance that you have towards other people, that you're just arrogant towards them, that you think that you're better than them. Then you put them down, you ridicule and humiliate them, because you think that you are better than them. And that's not even a
Kodama Rahim Allah, Allah who said that the first level of arrogance is the arrogance that is only within the heart, that a person feels that they are out of them that they think that they are better than others. But they stop themselves from manifesting that arrogance on their limbs or on their tongue. And he said that the example of this is like the tree that has roots, but it doesn't have any branches. So that root those roots and tree trunk is in your heart, but you don't let its branches expand. Don't let it barefoot, don't really have any leaves. That is also something which is dangerous. But it is a very low level that you fight with yourself, you know that you have this
arrogance in you, but you return to allow you make it to him, you fight with this type of arrogance, so that you don't display it to others. And he said that the second level of manifestation then is that after the heart, it comes upon the limbs. So you don't like to sit with certain people, you don't like to be in the company of certain people, you like people to walk behind you. Or when you come into a room, you expect that people should stand up for you. So you manifest it in your actions. And that then, is the worst type of arrogance, because now that tree trunk that only had roots has branches. And the third level. And this is when a person becomes extremely arrogant, that
not only is it in the heart, and manifested on the on the limbs, but it also comes on the tongue, the way that you address someone, the way that you speak to them the way that you ridicule and humiliate them the way that you belittle them, especially in the company over the people to show that you are better than them. That is like a tree that not only has branches, but that it is bearing fruit as well. And it is an evil type of fruit, a better type of fruit. And this is something for which a large region will run the null and void a person's actions on your moral piano. that a person comes with this type of arrogance and tribe, a large soldier will render that
person's actions null and void on normal piano. And that's why the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam disliked if he came across a group of people, that they should stand up for him. They should stand up for him. Even though he was the Prophet of Allah. He just like they should stand up when he entered into the room. And that's why I do the law. One said that if you want to see a person from the people of the fire, then look at the one who when he enters in the room, he expects everyone to stand and rise for his entrance. That's what the law would say. And the purpose of cinema dislike that is that the companions should walk behind him as if he was the leader. And they had to walk
behind him like an entourage. rather he would make them walk beside him. That's why I
would say that a person will continue to be in harmony, evil, so long as they expect others to behind them as reported, even rhodiola one that when he would walk along with his servants, you couldn't differentiate between the two, what are know who was the master who was the slave. That's how he would walk with his servants wouldn't make them walk behind him, but they were the slaves. And he was the leader. While he would walk in such a way that you couldn't tell the difference between the two.
And that's why the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam as we mentioned, he would go and he would sit with even the weak and the young, up to live in Amara de Allahumma when he was eating, and people would come to him to eat with him. If he saw amongst them someone who was ill, someone who was disabled, someone who had a skin deformity, people that others would normally shy away from, he would go and he would bring them and make them sit next to him.
Because you knew that people would normally display arrogance towards these types of people. So he would make a point of going to them and bringing them and making them sit right next to him. That is how the companions are the Allahumma bajawa. And that's why the scholars mentioned that there are seven main reasons why a person has arrogance, seven main reasons where arrogance is displayed. And the first of them is knowledge that a person learns, and seeks knowledge. And that knowledge that makes them arrogant, and they think that they are better than others. And that is a dangerous form of arrogance. Because she comes and he loves people into a false sense of security. That because you
have knowledge, you've learned the Koran, you've learned the sin of the social system, you've studied Islam, therefore, you're automatically better than others. You're more knowledgeable than others, you have a higher status than others. And that is a dangerous form of arrogance. And this is something which alarms which are mentioned in the Quran in surah, Taka and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam mentioned insane and Buhari were Musashi Salaam stood amongst these people one day, and he gave them a sermon. And then one of the people from his from his nation, one of the men he stood up and he said, Oh prophet of Allah, Who is the most knowledgeable person on earth today. And
so Moosa replied I am and he didn't respond that knowledge back to Allah didn't say Allah knows best didn't say, if Allah wills then I am what he just said I am. So allow rebuked him, and they said, rather, there is someone more knowledgeable than you. And he told him to go to his rally his salon. One of the benefits of that story is that knowledge, give humility and humbleness to a person. Now make them more arrogant and proud. It should make them more humble, and give them your more humility. The second reason why a person displays arrogance is because of their worship and their actions. But they worship a lot more than others. Perhaps they conform to the Sunnah, outwardly in
their appearance more than others, because of their actions and so on. And by the way, this doesn't mean that a person doesn't seek knowledge. Well, they don't worship Allah, or they conformed to the sun. Now, what it means is that these people just have to be careful in the way that they do this. So this shade pond doesn't attack them from a place that they don't expect from a direction that they are unaware of. That's all that it means doesn't mean that we say we are not going to seek knowledge, we're not going to worship Allah. Otherwise, we're going to become arrogant. That too, is a type of arrogance. And so that worship shouldn't lead us to arrogance, but rather it should lead
us to humility and humbleness. And that's why Mohammed Rahim, Allah was asked about a scholar on his time during his time, and it was said to him that that person even though he's a scholar, he's not one of the most famous scholars around him. a mammoth replied to him online, he said, but he already has the fruits of knowledge. What is the fruit of knowledge taqwa, fear of Allah piety, that a person shows humility and humbleness. That is the fruits of knowledge. The third reason why a person displays arrogance is because of their lineage and their family, the tribe that they belong to, and this was especially common amongst the Irish. And that's why this is his famous story of how when
the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would go to the cabinet during the night, and he would pray and worship Allah, I was Sophia, and abou Jan, and a third man from the leaders of Quraysh. Each one of them would go secretly, and they would go and listen to the Quran. And on the way home, after listening to the recitation of the Quran, they would meet one another. And when they would meet one another, they would become embarrassed, because during the day, they would want other people from listening to the Quran. But during the night, they themselves secretly would go and do this. So was the cause of embarrassment. So when they would meet one another, they would take an oath by Allah,
that they will never go back to listen to the Quran. But the second night, they went back and did exactly the same thing. And again, they met by accident. And again, they were embarrassed and they took another oath by Allah, that they wouldn't go back and listen to the Quran. And the third night again, they went and did the same thing. They couldn't stop and keep away from the recitation of the Quran. And they understood his eloquence and his beauty and the power of the Quran. On the first morning, one of the leaders of Qureshi to one of the three that was involved in this, he went to Abuja and Abuja Hall at that time, was one of the main leaders of Polish when he said, Oh, Buddha,
you know, that this Quran that we've been listening to for the past three nights, it's not the words of a magician, will the words of a madman, nor is it the poetry of a poet, it is something far greater than this. So why is it that we are fighting this man Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and so on Apple general replied, and he said, it's not because of this code. But it's because my tribe and his tribe bonamassa, my tribe, and his tribe and Hashem
have always been in competition with one another. Every time they go and water the pilgrims, we go and water the pilgrims, when they give food to the pilgrims, we go and give food to the pilgrims. We compete with them in everything that they do. Until now they say that there is a man amongst them who is a prophet of Allah, how can we compete with this, we will never believe in him. And so even a boudjellal, he knew that the Koran was far greater than what he used to claim that it was that it's just poetry or sorcery or magic. But the reason for his disbelief was because of arrogance for his family, for his tribe, for his lineage, that we can't let the profits of sylvans tribe become better
than our tribe. And if he says there is a profit, then what can we do, we can't compete with profit Toad can't compete with being a messenger of Allah. And so that led to his disbelief. The fourth reason that a person has arrogance is because of their wealth, and they float that wealth, and they use it to show people that they are better than them, and that others are lower than them. That is a type of arrogance as well. And that is the type of arrogance that are on display. There are large silver dimensions in the Quran. And qarun was one of the ministers of Pharaoh. And he had so much rather than so much treasures, that just to carry the keys of his treasure, he would need strong
able bodied men, strong men would have to come and carry just the keys to his treasure. And he would say that all of this is because of me, not because of a lot of the blessings of Allah and the favors of Allah. But because of me, my efforts, my knowledge, what I did what I achieved my hard work, and so a large which will cause the earth to swallow him up and everything that he owned all of his path. That is how Allah destroyed him. The fifth reason why a person also has this type of arrogance is because of the power that they have the responsibility that they given. That's why the prophets on the lower end he was silom would be extremely careful when he would decide who's to be given
positions of leadership, because you can easily lead to arrogance, easily lead to a person becoming corrupt due to the power that they have. That's why when Abu Dhabi allowed us to be a leader, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, No, you are too weak to become a leader, too weak, even though a Buddha was a famous illustrious Companion of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. And the last reason that leads to people going into arrogance is because of the followers that they have the people that surround them, the people that support them. That's why one of the reasons or one of the stories that alaric xojo mentions in Surah two calf is a story of the man with the two gardens.
And he was arrogant and proud towards the other man, his friend who was poorer than him weaker than him, and he would oppress him. And one of the things that he would oppress him with and seek to him was that I have more money than you and I have more followers, the new analyzer will mentioned this in the Quran, so that we can take benefit from it. But your brothers and sisters in Islam, I'm running out of time. But one of the last things that I wanted to touch upon was some of the things that we need to do in order to stay away from from arrogance and some of the cures towards arrogance. Number one is that you need to study this issue of arrogance, look at the Koran, and our
life's origin discusses the Quran and the context in which it is mentioned. And look at the Sunnah of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and all of the punishments that are ascribed towards those people with arrogance, number two, and probably the most important thing, one of the most important ways that a person can kill arrogance is by instilling humbleness and humility within themselves, that a person becomes humble, perhaps that is by going and visiting the graveyard or knowing that all of us will eventually die. What do we have to be arrogant about top cities by going and visiting those people who are less fortunate than us, those people who are in hospital with
terminal illnesses, those people who are weak and homeless and poor, so that we can acknowledge the failures that Alaska has blessed upon us is also by knowing and understanding the power of a lasso and how Allah subhana wa Taala is the one who gives greatness Alonso agenda is the one who gives all of these blessings of power and family and he gives the one he gives Ralph and so on and so forth. That all of this belongs to Allah and Allah alone, and no doubt that it's only good when a person looks and follows the Sunnah of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and it takes the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam as his example, and as his role model as collateral so that it gives us
the ability to stay away from these diseases of the heart, arrogance and pride and so on and so forth. And that alarm still makes us from amongst the humble and the humidity in this world. Due to their humbleness a normal piano, they will be given positions of greatness for several levels of environment.
