locations, cities and areas that a lot of our general has blessed that Allah subhana wa Taala has
given a special status to in this religion. And so as everyone knows, within the Koran, Mecca is
mentioned many times because it is a blessing city. It is a place that a large region has blessed
upon this earth. Likewise on woods, Jerusalem is a place that Allah has blessed and so it is also
mentioned within the Quran and referred to in the Sunnah of our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
		

			But another place that is often mentioned within the sporran, and within the Sunnah of our Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that perhaps many of us have not yet paid attention to, or many of us
are not really familiar with, is an area known as
		

			a sham. Today, it is known as modern day Syria and Lebanon and Jordan and Palestine, the area during
the time of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that collective area was known as a sham. And
you will find many references, especially within the Sunnah. And within the lives of the companions,
or the Allahu anhu, that speaks about this area, has the companions would travel there to make
jihad, how they would go there to teach the people that are on how they would travel there to give
that Allah for a very long period within our history, that area Sham, the capital of Damascus, was
the capital of the Muslim Empire. From the time of war, I'll be out on the long run all of his

			the status of a sham. Whole books have been written just on this very subject. And there are many a

the chosen lands of Allah subhanho wa Taala this land of a sham. In another Hadith, the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, in Muslim, Mr. madman, that there will come a time when you will
find many armies, an army in in Syria and a sham and an army in Iraq and so on and so forth. And
then the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, Indeed, Allah has surprised me regarding the
people of a sham. Allah has taken care and ownership and guardianship of the people of a sham and
the land of a sham. In yet another Hadith, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said that whilst
		

			he was sleeping, he saw a dream. And in that dream, he saw that someone came, and he took from under
his pillow, something that looked like a book. And that book was taken from under his pillow, and he
began to shine and glow with a light. And when he looked at that light to see in which direction it
was going, it was going towards the land of a sham. So the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam said,
Indeed, when the times of return and trial come, then you will find a man faith is in the land of a
sham. You will find faith in the land of a sham. And all of these Hadith are authentic, you will
find a man in this land of a sham. In another Hadith in Muslim Ummah, Muhammad, the Prophet
		

			sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said to Bally Sham three times to ban a sham to ban a sham to banish
sham. May they be blessing, a sham, a sham be honored and bless it. He said it three times. And so
the companions asked our messenger of Allah, why is that? And the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam replied, because indeed, the angels of man, the angels of Allah subhanho wa Taala have spread
their wings over the land of a sham.
		

			And so just from these few Hadith, and there are many more like this, you find that the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam spoke about Sham, he spoke about it being a blessing land. But you will
also find within this hadith of our profits on Allah when Allah He will send them that there is
mentioned a fitten of trials being there, and you will make mention of armies being there, and so on
and so forth. And so even though it is a blessing land, just like every other land, it will go
through trials, and the people there will go through trials.
		

			Now I don't need to speak in detail about the question that is going on there at the moment, and how
many people are dying, and how many people are living in a society which is being bombarded and
showered day and night? No doubt those people are undergoing oppression. And the Prophet sallallahu
alayhi wa sallam spoke in many a hadith about oppression. Everyone knows that in Islam, oppression
is something which is haram. Something which Allah has forbidden not only for us, but even upon
himself. Subhanahu wa tada as the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said that Allah azza wa jal
says, the Hadith and Pudsey your body in the harem to Maryland FC was able to be in a coma, Roman

haram upon you. So do not oppress one another. oppression is one of those few things that Allah

of that person in this dunya along with what is already reserved for them in the hereafter. So
oppression and transgression and that doesn't just mean on a large scale, when it is a rule or a
government but even on an individual scale. When a person oppresses their wife, or a parent or
presses their child or an employee or presses the employee or teacher presses the student, or a
brother presses their fellow brother or sister, all of this is oppression in the sight of Allah
		

			subhanho wa Taala. And all of it has the same type of warning and danger associated with it. And
another Hadith the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam told us to be where the death of the one who
is oppressed because it will surely be answered. As the profits on the long run, he will send them

oppressors immediately, but rather he allows them to continue their oppression that their
transgression builds and it continues, and then it will reach a stage where Allah subhanho wa Taala
		

			will then choose to destroy them, but on what are the

normal piano, Allah will punish him with the length of the seven Earths according to that amount
that he took, and rightfully, the amount of land that he took that wasn't just that was oppressing
		

			someone else. All of the seven Earths will be used to punish that individual. This is how much of a
major sin it is in the sight of Allah to commit oppression. Allah Subhana Allah in the Quran, when
he speaks about the destruction and the punishment of the past nations, you always mentioned that

of oppression. Yes, they were disbelievers. Yes, they will people who rejected Allah and His

			aware of their plight, and then to make dua to Allah subhanho wa Taala for the help that Allah
relieves that oppression from them. And imagine my dear brothers and sisters, if this was us, if we
were in their place, and we were living in such a situation, so know the blessings of Allah upon
you, the blessings that Allah has bestowed you upon from peace and tranquility, and the safety that
you live in, and then look at them, and show them for them and as a larger agenda, that he helps
them and make to have for them, and then help them financially in food and medicine and clothing,
and whatever else that you can do so as to ease it from them. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa
