His hair, at the beginning of his head,
would be long enough to actually curl back
and touch this part of your ear.
So it wasn't short.
Sometimes he would have very long hair.
Other descriptions for him that his hair sometimes
would part in the middle.
Some descriptions say he had hair so long
that parts of it would be braided.
All of these are in the Sihah, by
the way, about him.
Which is why I tend not to take
care too much about haircuts and think it's
a big deal.
Because the Prophet ﷺ was quite diverse when
it came to it.
But this is for you to imagine him.
Someone of this build.
Broad shoulders.
He had thick hair ﷺ.
Sometimes long enough to go back to his
ear.
Al-Bara' says, I saw him one day,
عليه فلة حمراء He was wearing a piece
of clothing that had red stripes within it.
So I looked at him.
And I'm not going to reiterate every hadith
in this book.
I'm choosing certain hadith.
I like this one because when he says,
يقول ما رأيت شيئا قط أحسن منه I've
never seen anything that's more beautiful than him
ﷺ.
Not anyone.
He didn't say anyone.
He didn't say ما رأيت أحدا.
He didn't say anyone.
He said ما رأيت شيئا I've never seen
anything in the entirety of my life that
was more beautiful than him ﷺ.
With his striped hula that he was wearing.
And him standing there ﷺ.
And this is how these young people grew
up.
They grew up with their eyes filled with
the beauty of the Prophet ﷺ.
This is why Bara' ibn A'zib would
continue his life as a mujahid fi sabilillah
and die as a martyr.
Because that's who he spent his time looking
at.
