My beloved brothers and
On this wonderful day, the day of Arafah,
the greatest day of the year Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala has given every single one
of us the opportunity to sit here in
the house of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
Instead of watching the Euros Wallahi brothers and
sisters, some of you guys may be laughing
But there are many who are glued to
the television Watching non-Muslims
Right?
Fixated on that which, my brothers and my
sisters Is only going to occupy you away
from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala And we
are here making this sacrifice on the greatest
day of the year, the day of Arafah
The best dua
'a that you can make is the dua
'a on the day of Arafah وَخَيْرُ مَا
And the best thing that
I've ever said in the Prophets before me
Right?
The best thing that the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu
alayhi wa sallam And the Prophets that came
before him ever uttered Was the Kalima, the
Shahada Which is what is Tawheed And anything
that is going to bring us closer to
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala My brothers and
my sisters We are fulfilling this objective of
what we were created for And that is
Allah azzawajal
did not create jinn kind and man kind
Except to worship me alone And as I've
mentioned time and time again We cannot worship
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala accordingly Except with
what?
Except with what my brothers and my sisters?
Can you worship Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
accordingly without knowledge?
No you can't my brothers and my sisters
It has to be done with knowledge And
here we are gathered on the greatest day
Hoping to soften our hearts up With this
What does
that mean?
Treading the path to Allah and the Hereafter
Treading the path to Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala and the Hereafter It is a very
short poem Very concise In it are gems
and pearls That will be in the light
to Allah change our perspective In how we
build this relationship with Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala Out of all of the different poems
that we could have picked Why did we
pick this one specifically?
Related to softening your heart my brothers and
my sisters I'll tell you guys Something very
very powerful and profound that Ibn Taymiyyah mentioned
He says the
heart if it is soft and tender The
knowledge entering into his heart will be so
much easier We know my brothers and my
sisters That your heart can become extremely hot
Your heart can become very rigid It becomes
so blackened It becomes so filthy لَا يَعْرِفُ
You place good in
front of this individual You present khair That
which is pleasing to Allah Azza wa Jal
He doesn't want anything to do with it
He doesn't want to hear it Isn't that
the case my brothers and my sisters At
times there are people that you speak to
about Allah and His Messenger He doesn't want
to hear it And that is perhaps maybe
because his heart has become sealed So here
Ibn Taymiyyah says
When your heart is what, soft and
tender Knowledge entering into it will be so
much more easier And as we mentioned Our
sole reason of existence is what?
To worship Allah I've not been created for
anything else I've not been created to become
an expert in medicine or mathematics Which is
good But that is not my sole reason
of existence How many a time you will
find my brothers and my sisters A doctor
of 30 years But he doesn't know how
to read I remember subhanAllah there was an
incident That happened many many years ago when
I was young Right There was a bunch
of doctors in the room And then as
we stood up for the prayer It was
Dhuhr I believe or Asr, I can't remember
They told him to lead And for Dhuhr
prayer my brothers and my sisters Allahu Akbar
Alhamdulillah Rabbil Alameen He's reading aloud I'm not
saying this to belittle the doctor My brothers
and my sisters or to look down at
him But 30 years You've mastered that field
Of medicine or whatever else he may be
an expert in But then he's reading aloud
In a Dhuhr prayer or Asr prayer What
excuse does he have in front of Allah
Jalla Fi'ula Right So we've been created
my brothers and my sisters to worship Allah
And knowledge, right, is required to do so
Otherwise we will be no different to Who?
The Christians We read it everyday Surah Al
Who is
The Nasara صحيح They worshiped Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala upon ignorance And then look what
he goes on to say
The ilm,
the knowledge will be able to remain firm
in this person's heart when it is soft
When it is when?
When it is soft That's why my brothers
and my sisters Before I left this time
round to Riyadh to do my masters In
that period I was here in the UK
Not all but a lot of that which
I would teach would revolve around the heart
It's all good teaching books This one and
that one But then living in this sexualized,
perverted, filthy society This person is going to
struggle He won't even be able to sit
there Right Look what he then says وإن
But when his heart is rigid and hard
The knowledge will find it extremely difficult finding
its way into that heart So we ask
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala on this important
day My brothers and my sisters where the
duas are accepted To grant us a heart
that is pure The messenger s.a.w.
would make the dua
Repeat after me brothers and sisters
Grant my heart a taqwa Right,
that's what he means
زكها Which means Purify it وزكها You are
the best of those that purify أنت وليها
You are indeed its protector And you
are indeed its guardian By the way my
brothers and my sisters For those who are
here without the pen and paper I suggest
you start writing down what we are about
to go through today Right Wallahi brothers Years
down the line Right You will remember all
that fa'id All that benefit that I
took I wish I wrote down You know
my brothers and my sisters And I always
talk about this Right, once upon a time
I used to make dua for Steve Jobs
Up until most recently Only for someone to
say Ustad He is dead Because I didn't
know Can you make dua for someone who
died upon Adhanul Nisaam No Why was I
making dua for him Because of the notes
on the iPhone Right, since I started using
it I have notes from maybe what 10
years ago Sometimes I remember this benefit that
I wrote down And it's there And I
can use it Maybe some of the notes
that we are going to be Revising amongst
ourselves My brothers and my sisters Wallahi it
was maybe from 6-7 years ago But
then I just improvise on it Every now
and again I may add to it So
if you don't have a pen and paper
You can always use your phones You know
there is a line of poetry That I
love to quote Which I then tweaked a
little bit The poet he says لابد لطالب
is a must that the student He carries
with him what Kunash What does kunash mean
writes When he rides And he writes when
he walks So I tweaked it a little
bit Because many people don't Carry with them
kunash Or scrap paper Put your hand up
if you came with scrap paper I don't
think most of us did صحيح But Then
Abu Tayyib may Allah preserve him He changed
the line of poetry and he said لابد
Right A fresh way of
Instead of
In order
to make it rhyme I know some of
you guys are carrying iPads May Allah Azawajal
bless your iPads And keep it beneficial for
you Or on your phones you write it
down Yeah Also my brothers and my sisters
What I think is worth mentioning With regards
to one's heart Shaykh Ibn Uthimah says من
The
one who purifies his heart From sins معاصي
This person will be more understanding of the
Qur'an Than the one who didn't We
all wanna learn the Qur'an right We
all want to be able to understand it
But my brothers and my sisters Our hearts
may well be locked Because As he says
Whoever's heart now my brothers and my
sisters Becomes impurified With sin That which is
displeasing to Allah He will be the furthest
when it comes to understand the Qur'an
Also Ibn Taymiyyah mentioned By the way for
those who don't know Ibn Taymiyyah is different
to Abu Taymiyyah Do you guys know the
difference?
Big difference Sometimes people come up to me
Oh are you Ibn Taymiyyah?
I was like no Ibn Taymiyyah is in
the grave my friend Random people when they
come up to me Especially in Saudi Ibn
He died in the
year 728 I'm still alive brothers Right 1444
I'm still alive 1444 right?
Or is it 45?
Sorry I'm still living in the past 1445
His
name is Ahmad Ibn Abdul Haleem Ibn Abdul
Salam And Abdul Salam هو الجد Ibn Taymiyyah
why I like him so much My brothers
and my sisters Wallahi when you read some
of his works It is as if he's
living amongst us Right?
Not because he's Hazir Nazir That he's omnipresent
No It's because Subhanallah What he would speak
about It benefits the people from different places
And different times In comparison to maybe others
This is why Right?
Even when it came to understanding the positions
of The righteous predecessors The Salaf The three
golden generation He was the most knowledgeable That's
He had in-depth understanding When it
came to knowing the positions Of the Sahaba
The Tabi'in And also the Atba'u
At-Tabi'in Likewise when it came to
the four great Imams The Madhahib And Wallahi
If a lot of the brothers Who ascribe
themselves to knowledge And Sunnah and Tawheed Just
held on to The Taqreerat The Tahqiqat The
conclusions that Ibn Taymiyyah reached A lot of
the trouble that happens between brothers Wouldn't be
taking place Put your hand up if you
like the science called Usul Al-Fiqh Couple
here MashaAllah Because Usul Al-Fiqh it protects
the Shari'ah From liberals and orientalists That
try to Misappropriate what Allah and His Messenger
Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam mentioned He puts down rules
Regulations A framework of how to understand Our
Shari'ah It protects it That's why Al
-Ghulaymani mentioned Al-Usul Surah Al-Nusus Min
Al-Nusus Usul Al-Fiqh It protects the
Nusus, the text From the Nusus Which means
the thieves I don't want to go on
to a tangent My brothers and my sisters
But one time I was sent a video
Right, of this lady Who identifies And I'm
just quoting him My brothers and my sisters
I'm not inciting violence Abu Taymiyyah doesn't have
his own views And his own opinions and
ideas No This lady She identifies Right As
a gay hijabi And this video is going
viral She's saying She doesn't believe it was
on the Jubilee These sittings that happened called
Jubilee Something Long story cut short She's saying
Hijab is not wajib It is not mandatory
And there is nowhere in the Quran That
shows that the hijab is mandatory Even the
musallamat The things that are clay cut That
there is no doubt about Today Brothers and
sisters Expect it to be questioned And contested
And many won't have the answers Why?
Because simply we don't Go out our way
to study So anyways She said that she
read the whole Quran And all it says
in the Quran You should wear it She's
relying On a secondary translation Right To understand
what the Quran is trying to say So
she came to the birth of the hijab
And she said, should Even though my brothers
and my sisters We know usul al fiqh
Which gives you the tools now To understand
the Quran and the sunnah When is it
mandatory When is it sunnah, when is it
makrooh When is it haram Right So it
does And it's governed by the Arabic language
Not some English translation And the English translation
Never gives the It never gives the Arabic
language It's true justice Anyways, I mention all
of this My brothers and my sisters, because
I'm about to quote Ibn al-Jawzi rahmatullahi
alayhi Put your hand up if you love
hadith Ihsan Put your hand up if you
love fiqh Ihsan If there's a Talib ilm
that busies himself with these Things, look what
he says, he said Raitul ishtighala bil fiqh
Wassama'il hadith La yakadu yakfi fi salahi
alqalb He said Busying yourself with hadith and
fiqh Is just not enough To soften your
heart Allahu akbar Allahu akbar Right Forget about
usul al-fiqh Whenever I will study And
I love usul al-fiqh, I will always
have A book next to me called The
actions of the heart Because usul al-fiqh
sometimes can get Very very jaff, very dry
For those who don't know Too many Technicalities
Are you guys with me?
I will always have That book next to
me, because of this statement And I can
feel it sometimes He says it's just not
enough to Soften your heart, illa an yumzaja
Bil raqa'iq Wal nazari fi siyari Salafi
salihin You should go through heart softeners and
likewise Looking up the lives Of the righteous
who came before you It inspires If he's
Saying this about hadith and fiqh My brothers
and my sisters, then how about Someone who
is just Right, insistently fixated On That which
is displeasing to Allah azza wa jal Video
games all day long Or watching football all
day long And it could even be something
Subhanallah my brothers and my sisters, it's permissible
The one just does all The time, but
even Then my brothers and my sisters, you
will see that this will what?
Harden your heart Right What's my Substantiation For
this?
Let me ask you guys a question, is
playing football haram?
Hi brothers Playing football is haram?
Brothers I'm not I don't Ask trick questions
Huh?
Using social media is haram Huh?
The asal of it, the base Ruling of
it, is it haram?
Using your phone is haram I'll tell you
guys something though When you do something so
Excessively that is mubah, permissible In within itself,
your heart Becomes dark It begins to darken
Ibn al-Jawzi said Who died by the
way in the year 595 Is not around
today If your heart now begins to drown
In the thinking of Allah Things that are
what?
Permissible You'll begin to feel what?
Hot Then he says, if that's the case
Then what about haram?
I'm mentioning all of this And I know
Right I know my brothers and my sisters
Is putting things into perspective Why did I
feel like this yesterday?
Couple of weeks ago I felt completely different
To today Hmm Also Ibn al-Jawzi He
says Allah azza wa jal pray Allah azza
wa jal placed The strength of the believer
In his heart He never placed it In
his body parts يَصُومُ الْحَوَاجِرَ
He says
Do you not see an old man Who
fasts in the day And then prays in
the night Even though he's weak And that
is because my brothers and my sisters He
has a strong heart Sometimes you walk into
the masjid One hour before fajr One hour
before fajr And you find elderly there Reading
Quran But at the same time he's got
a shaved beard He looks very different To
a talib ilm who's trying to follow The
sunnah of the messenger You look at him
he looks like a random Joe But he
wakes up One hour before and then he's
what Fasting throughout the day Allahu Akbar What
did he do to be chosen By Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala To come into the
masjid one hour before But then he says
You find a young man Who finds all
of that difficult So my brothers and my
sisters Insha'Allah ta'ala we will start
the poem Don't worry I'll be giving breaks
in between Masha'Allah the masjid is Full
now right I don't want to say I
guarantee Because I have good thoughts of everyone
here But I doubt that this is going
to be The same number Till we get
to 8pm I meant to finish at 8pm
Insha'Allah ta'ala But I hope you
guys stay Anyone who gets tired Feel free
to stand up And start moving your Get
the Blood running through the System Okay feel
free in your own time Stand up Stretch
and then sit back down again Don't do
star jumps but just stretch Sahih It's
a very short poem Insha'Allah ta'ala
it should be done by 8pm Yeah Well
I hope So he starts off By saying
Imam As-Sa'di and some say it's more
correct to say As-Sa'di Abdulrahman Ibn Nasir
As-Sa'di Rahmatullahi Alayhi Right Who was mutafannin,
an expert in different Fields, one of them
was what A tafsir, he's got a whole
Tafsir called?
Does anyone know?
Tafsir As-Sa'di That's what it became known
for but it has a name Tayseer Al
-Kareem Ar-Rahman So he starts off by
saying Sa'd Al-Ladhina Tajannabu Subul Ar-Rada
Wa Tayammamu Limanazil Ar-Ridwani In the first
line of Poetry my brothers and my sisters
He says Sa'd Al-Ladhina Tajannabu Subul Ar
-Rada Those who stayed away From the paths
Of destruction have surely Gained happiness Wa Tayammamu
Limanazil Ar-Ridwani And they went forth Towards
the stations Of where the Lord's satisfaction Is
attained I'll say that again Those who stay
away From the paths Of destruction Have surely
gained happiness And they went forth Towards the
station Of where The Lord's satisfaction Is acquired
or gained My brothers and my sisters as
we know The Shaytan, the devil He has
different traps Of his sleeve Tricks and traps
That he will try His utmost best to
capture You in And then my brothers and
my sisters You will see Yourself Going down
a very dark Road Except for the one
that Allah Azzawajal Has mercy for He ends
up coming back Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
My brothers and my sisters Has made the
path to Al-Jannah very very Clear And
likewise Made the paths of destruction Extremely explicit
Here Imam Al-Sidhi Rahmatullahi Alayhi When he
speaks about the characteristics And the traits of
the Awliya The saints Those beloved servants of
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala He tells us
that these saints And beloved servants to Allah
Azzawajal They learn about How to stay away
from these Paths of destruction You can only
tread Their path if you learn how to
tread it And you learn How to stay
away from it So this is why my
brothers and my sisters I'm going to Inshallah
Wa Ta'ala give you guys Six Tricks
and traps That the devil has up his
sleeve With regards to Misguiding you It is
mentioned by Ibn Al-Qayyim Rahmatullahi Alayhi He
says Tricks Tricks These are the paths That
the devil Uses in order To cause you
to deviate away The first Trick that he
has Up his sleeve You know what he
does My brothers and my sisters He comes
to you and he says He says to
you He says to you Commit Kufr Once
you disbelieve and you commit Kufr Khalas he
will be at peace He will stop paying
attention to you Khalas I got him now
to commit the worst Possible sin The worst
possible sin is what?
Shirk Right?
Which means to associate partners of Allah Azzawajal
It is To attribute that which is exclusive
To Allah Right?
To attribute that which is exclusive To Allah
To To And then you have what?
Kufr Disbelief and disbelief comes in different types
And forms It comes in what?
Different types and forms One of them is
denying what is Mentioned in the Quran Ali
Ibn Talib Radiallahu Ta'ala He says What?
What?
Whoever now negates One letter from the Quran
One letter This person is what?
Committed Kufr One letter If I say You
know I say no It's only right?
Deserving for the messenger Because Allah was telling
his prophet to say Say That Allah is
Ahad That he is one This no longer
applies here Right?
This person leaves the fold of Islam In
the past There was one of the leaders
that actually uttered this And some of the
ulama They said this person is not a
Muslim because he said Qul should not be
here So he ended up creating a different
Quran With all the Qul taken out of
it With all the Qul Taken out of
it Right?
Sometimes my brothers and my sisters Because you
become so deluded with your Intellectuality Right?
This doesn't make sense Right?
This doesn't fall in line with my Intellect
Right?
We are in 2024 brother This Quran Is
out of touch with reality Or some of
these notions And these sentiments Right?
Doesn't fit in line with my liberal narrative
Or my feminist values Right?
Or my secular sentiments Doesn't fall in line
with it And because of it I reject
it Isn't this Some of these challenges that
we are facing today In the universities That
I refer to my brothers and my sisters
as A breeding ground For kufr, shirk Feminism,
liberalism Huh?
And of course The rainbow team That are
extremely active In these universities Right?
The whole system Is modelled In a way
to strip you of your faith And you
are bombarded With doubts left right and center
Doesn't make sense For example you have the
hadith of The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam when
he said If a fly Huh?
Falls inside of your drink What should you
do?
Dip it in but that's Shall we play
with what Muhammad Hobla says Huh?
Right?
I can say that because he is my
friend Right?
You guys can't Right?
If a fly falls inside of your drink
What should you do?
Dip it in Because in one of its
wings There is a curse And in the
other there is a cure In one of
its wings There is what?
A cure And in the other there is
what?
There is a disease So basically it cancels
each other out Right?
You know my brothers and my sisters I
came across Right?
A medical report Or a medical research paper
That actually affirmed this This is years down
the line Years down the line Huh?
Who is the winner in this situation And
who is the loser Sometimes we come across
These texts, Wallahi it doesn't fall in line
with my As I mentioned before My intellect
Right?
And then we need some Kafir, some disbeliever
To release a research paper In order for
him to Reach this conclusion When you have
Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam Who told us
Very long time ago You know I always
say this to the brothers and sisters And
I think it may be worth writing down
My brothers and my sisters Can anyone here
smell That which is happening near the Shell
petrol station I just done a U-turn
On the shell petrol station Can you smell
the petrol from here?
You can't So you've accepted that Your smell
senses Are limited, right?
Limited?
Agreed?
Can anyone hear that which is happening Near
the train station I just dropped off My
admin Saeed over there Can anyone what?
See or hear That which is happening over
there?
Can't If you've now accepted that all of
These body parts are limited Why do you
fail to understand That your intellect is limited
as well Doesn't make sense to me man
Of course it's not Because your brain is
limited These are just some Principles that I
give to university students At times So kufr
my brothers And my sisters, it comes in
different forms Types Right?
So he will try To get you to
leave the fold of Islam Number two My
brothers and my sisters Number two The second
Trick that he has up his sleeve If
you Surrender from the beginning He will decorate
for you a Creation of a deed or
saying And you will think that you are
on the right And you will forget that
every Creation is misguided and every misguidance Is
in the fire He says That if he
was unable to trap you With kufr What
does he do?
He tries to beautify Innovative practices in your
eyes Something that doesn't have a basis In
the religion I will inshallah when we reach
the second Line of poetry, I will begin
to What?
Elaborate On the essence of innovation Right?
And what it actually Consists of later So
here now Innovative practices my brothers and my
Sisters And you begin To think that you
are actually upon the truth And you forget
that Every newly invented Innovative practice Is actually
a misguidance and every Misguidance takes you to
the hellfire Right?
So number one was what?
My brothers and my sisters Kufr Number two
was what?
Bid'ah Number three is He says If
one manages to save himself He manages to
escape from the first And the second He
will use the third trick that he has
Up his sleeve Which is He tries to
trap you with a major sin My brothers
and my sisters Wallahi, in today's day and
age Committing a major sin Is so much
more easy than maybe what 10, 15, 20
years ago Agreed?
If you wanted to do haram You wanted
to meet someone and do haram With, it
is what?
A couple of fingertips away, right?
Shaitan Is whispering all the time You come
across this lady that you're so Attracted to
online On Fitnagram And then on Shaitan Talk
Right?
And you have also Twitter Now known as
X Which is the ideal Social media Playing
ground If you want to cancel someone Right?
All of these apps The different haram things
that we do That comes in different types
And forms You see a lady that you're
so Attracted to, Shaitan is whispering Go give
a da'wah Right?
She's not wearing hijab But she looks so
nice You've seen her naked, don't worry I'll
be able to put a jilbab on her
Right?
I'll be able to cover her, don't worry
man And he's talking to her Talking to
her Right?
He said he was going to give her
da'wah, right?
She ends up giving him da'wah With
all of the pictures she ends up sending
him As in a song My brothers and
my sisters Always just jump on Anything that
we hear And on X We are spreading
all types of filth About others And it
becomes a major sin Right?
How many fingertips away?
Just a couple And then press tweet And
then press share The devil is always improvising
My brothers and my sisters in different ways
And forms In how to misguide you And
he will not stop And then he says
But when you now repent to Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala You will be pardoned Number
four, my brothers and my sisters He says
If you manage to escape From all of
these different traps and tricks That the devil
has up his sleeves Number four Now my
brothers and my sisters There is a minor
sin That you will see yourself Engaging in
Right?
Which takes away from your lofty status In
the eyes of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
And you're just saying to yourself He's a
minor man It's not a big deal It's
just a small sin The sins of my
brothers and my sisters I love the analogy
of Ibn Al-Qayyim You know what he
says?
You know when you start a fire In
a forest You start a fire in a
forest You need wooden sticks One Two, three
Four, five Six Right?
And then you'll be able to start a
fire Can you start a fire with just
a small wood?
Huh?
A small thin stick, can you do that?
You have to what?
Collect it all?
And what happens?
The fire starts and you're able to Cook
your biryani, right?
That's exactly what happens to my brothers and
my sisters One sin after the other And
another And another The one glance My brothers
and my sisters Leads you down that Dark
road And before you know it You are
falling into the worst Of the worst Zina
And then you're messaging Abu Taymi on Instagram
Please help me Wallahi my brothers and my
sisters My fitna gram is full Of young
people Men and women Ranging between the ages
Of eleven all the way up to Thirty
plus He sold me a dream He told
me I was going to be His Khadija
After he chewed her like a piece of
chewing gum And then just spat her out
Moved on to someone else And even sometimes
the brothers And in many of my videos
I've read out Emails anonymously Without mentioning the
name Very quickly a brother said All of
my family around me They're asking what is
wrong with this guy I can't eat anymore
and I'm losing weight Simply because I saw
a lady I couldn't get my eyes off
of her And then eventually I ended up
doing haram And I can't live with myself
And I keep doing haram with different women
Wallahi brothers and sisters I would take screenshots
of some of these emails I would save
it somewhere And then I would relay it
back to our brothers and sisters So they
can take a lesson from this Without of
course exposing them Right Makes sense why you
may feel Spiritually dead and empty right my
brothers and my sisters This is why when
Allah commands you It's not because Allah wants
to restrict you And make things difficult for
you It's in your own Best interest The
quicker we realize this the better Right Islam
governs us with Rules and regulations The same
way we are governed By The countries that
we live in There are rules and regulations
In order to What my brothers and my
sisters To keep peace and order Allah Allah
wants good for you He gives you these
commands That are in your best interest Number
five my brothers and my sisters The fifth
trap Or trick that he has up his
sleeve He says He
says if you repent From all of that
which has preceded You are now considered a
big shot In the eyes of Iblis Huh
Someone with a very high status So what
does he do He tries to busy you
with that which is less Important and rewarding
Than that which is what That which is
more important I like this example my brothers
and my sisters Sometimes what people do is
In the month of Ramadan They do all
night I'm going to pray to Allah Good?
Excellent But when he goes to sleep He
ends up missing Fajr Not just Fajr but
Dhuhr as well And some At that to
it as well Sahih?
Doesn't happen guys To be honest Which one
is more important For you to pray in
the night Or to catch Fajr and Dhuhr
Fajr and Asr Huh Of course Faraid The
obligatory prayers right Hmm That may well be
perhaps My brothers and my sisters A what?
A trap from the devil Of course if
you're able to reconcile And do both But
if you're trying to Huh Tell yourself I'm
still doing good anyway It's fine It's fine
And then my brothers and my sisters Number
six And this is the last Out of
the traps That Ibn Al-Qayyim mentioned He
الصلاة والسلام Even the أنبياء Right the prophets
my brothers and my sisters They Really couldn't
do much about this They couldn't fortify Themselves
from this Trick and this trap that the
devil Has up his sleeve Right Meaning maybe
Fortify is not the best word to use
here But it's something my brothers and my
sisters That they couldn't really Avoid all together
What is that my brothers and my sisters
He uses Your family members Right and those
Around you those closest to you To humiliate
and insult you Wallahi The closest people to
you my brothers and my sisters They will
start giving you a lot of trouble Someone
starts practicing my brothers and my sisters What
happens The closest of those around you Are
your own family members Mashallah Look at this
guy Shaykh He's become a great shaykh now
Yesterday he was doing all of that Now
he's trying to tell me what is right
and what is wrong This is Pharaoni rhetoric
Pharaoni rhetoric You know Pharaon This is what
he said to Musa when he came to
him with da'wah You did x, y,
and z before And you are actually a
kafir bro You're a kafiri system He called
Musa kafir To insult and to Be aggressive
towards those who are giving you da'wah
It used to be hard and I always
say this to my brothers and my sisters
The hardest type of da'wah Is what?
The da'wah to your family and your
close ones Hardest type of da'wah Ibn
Ata'i Ibn Abi Rabah Who was one
of the Students of Abdullah Ibn Abaz He
said Those who forsake A person of knowledge
more than anyone Is who?
His own family So To commence now my
brothers and my sisters The second line of
poetry That As-Sa'di rahmatullahi alayhi mentions Is
He says when talking about the qualities And
the Characteristics and traits Of the awliya The
righteous Beloved servants of Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala He says They are the ones my
brothers and my sisters In their pursuit To
meet Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala And to
acquire the hereafter Is that my brothers and
my sisters They adorn themselves With these two
things Number one They are sincere in their
pursuit And also They adorn themselves With the
legislation Of iman And what is intended here
my brothers and my sisters They follow the
sunnah of the messenger Sallallahu alayhi wasallam Al
-ikhlas my brothers and my sisters Which means
what?
Sincerity What is the opposite of ikhlas?
He said hypocrisy Good, what else?
Huh?
What is riyaa?
What is riyaa my brothers and my sisters?
Means showing off, but what does riyaa actually
Come under?
Because we know that shirk is what?
Two types Major and minor What is major
shirk?
I mentioned earlier that I would go into
a little bit more detail With regards to
shirk It is to attribute that which is
exclusive To Allah To abadan Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala Right?
To place Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala As
an equal to others To place Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala As an equal to others
Is that correct my brothers and my sisters?
Abadan Right?
Everything that we do It needs to be
solely for Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala Our
acts of worship Right?
When we slaughter, when we pray Would anyone
here Pray to abadan Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala?
Would you go to a grave and start
Praying, your prayers now to Abadan Allah jalla
fi'ula Of course you wouldn't And many
people Think that the only act of worship
That you only do for Allah is Salah
And some of the Pillars of Islam like
fasting and hajj But anything other than that
It really doesn't come under it And this
is not correct my brothers and my sisters
Ibadah is Ismun jami'un li kulli ma
yuhibbuh Allah wa yardah It is a comprehensive
Term for everything that Allah azawajal loves And
is satisfied with Minal aqwali wal a'mali Whether
it may be utterances Or what actions Inwardly
And outwardly Actions and statements Does that make
sense my brothers and my sisters?
Dua would come under it As well when
I make dua it has to be what?
Exclusive to Allah jalla fi'ula Right?
And we know my brothers and my sisters
That the Ibadah has Pillars Does anyone know
What the two pillars are?
Sorry?
Islam?
Ihsan There are two pillars that Ibn Kathir
Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn Al-Qayyim And others
before him mentioned Ghayatul hubbi Waghayatul Ghayatul khudu
'i wal dhul It is the Pinnacle of
love That's the first pillar of what?
Worship Now when we do this act of
worship my brothers and my sisters The pinnacle
of love Right?
Is for Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala In
this act of worship I'm not trying to
compare Allah azawajal to his creation But look
how you behave when you love a lady
She tells you When you jump you tell
her how high Right?
Or you're alpha male When you love something
My brothers and my sisters And it reaches
a pinnacle You will do whatever The Mahboob
requires of you Sahih?
And this is why my brothers and my
sisters We will learn insha'Allah ta'ala
How to become beloved to Allah And how
Allah azawajal Will end up loving us So
much Ghayatul hub Wa ghayat aish Al dhul
wal khudu' The pinnacle of Humility and submission
You can see it overlaps with one another
When you love something so badly My brothers
and my sisters At times you may even
end up Loving that thing Over Allah azawajal
And then you can judge by your actions
Who's actually the most beloved to you Look
what Allah says Wa minan naas li man
yatakhidu min dooni Allahi Andadan yuhibboonahum ka hubbi
Allah There are those Who take Deities Besides
Allah Who love them The same way they
love Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala Allahu akbar
So what are the two pillars?
The pinnacle of love and also the pinnacle
of what?
Humility and submission If this my brothers and
my sisters What I mention now The definition
of shirk And the definition of Ibada And
the pillars of ibada You now take that
And apply it To other than Allah Then
unfortunately my brothers and my sisters You will
be falling in the worst possible sin And
that is shirk And if you die upon
shirk My brothers and my sisters No way
you are coming Out of the hellfire As
Allah told us in the Quran Inna allaha
laa yaghfiru an yushraka bih Wa yaghfiru maa
dooni dharik Allah does not forgive shirk Right?
If you die upon it But everything else
meaning Let's just say somebody had Tawheed which
is the opposite of that Right?
The opposite of monotheism Is shirk You had
that but you had major sins that you
didn't Repent from Allah may choose to forgive
you or he may choose to Punish you
And if he decides to punish you Sooner
or later you will come out of the
hellfire Are you brothers and sisters with me?
Sooner or later you will come Out of
the hellfire That is the virtue and the
superiority of Tawheed Does that make sense my
brothers and my sisters?
Islam came to connect You directly to Allah
When we give dawah to the Christians What
do we say to them?
We have to cut out the Pope Right?
You go directly to Allah You don't go
through Jesus However of course there are Tawassul
means Of getting closer to Allah Like for
example when you make dua to him Through
his name And through righteous deeds Ya Allah
if I done this sincerely for your sake
Open the cave like the hadith Or help
me do this And help me be able
to overcome this Hardship and difficulty Or sometimes
maybe asking a righteous man To make dua
for you Because we have what?
Evidences for this So going back to what
we were saying Ikhlas Right?
You can maybe say that Two types Of
acts will end up Destroying your ikhlas Number
one is what?
Shirk And number two when you begin to
what?
Show off You're praying Right?
And then ho you and Aba your mom
and dad They walk in Right?
Oh I want to impress them I want
to show them How much of reverence I
have in my salah, khushu' Right?
He becomes like a stick Are you brothers
and sisters with me?
This my brothers and my sisters Will lead
your acts Of worship to become what?
Void Does that make sense?
Sincerity My brothers and my sisters As Ibn
al Qaym rahmatullahi alayhi mentions Ikhlas Ikhlas
in its essence is That when you do
an act of worship You don't want anything
From another You just want Allah azawajal to
what?
Reward you in this act If others see
The goodness that you're doing Or they hear
about the goodness that you have Executed and
accomplished That's not your fault And then they
praise you for it, that is not your
fault In fact, this is Right?
As the Messenger of Allah said This
is a hurried Tidings for this individual Right?
You're getting good news before The hereafter For
that act that you've done my brothers and
my sisters You know Ibn al Qaym rahmatullahi
alayhi My brothers and my sisters He says
And I really like this He says Look
what he says It is the way of
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala Doesn't change And
this is a norm In what Allah azawajal
Grants an individual That he clothes The person
who is sincere With what?
What does he clothes him with?
With light And the people will be in
awe of him And you will see The
people's hearts becoming Filled with loving this individual
And they will be what?
Rushing towards him And that is because my
brothers and my sisters Right?
In accordance to how sincere That individual is
And how my brothers and my sisters He
conducts himself with his lord Sometimes in front
of the people We are on our best
behavior But then when we are at home
Even as a sheikh Or a person of
knowledge And this my brothers and my sisters
Is when you will begin to Drop in
the eyes of the people What does he
do behind closed doors?
Him and his wife are sitting there Watching
Netflix And then Friday he is giving the
khutbah Or he is watching things that he
shouldn't Once upon a time the people respected
you For who you are And then all
of a sudden the people Begin to feel
indifferent towards you Ibn al-Jawziyah says رأيت
He says I saw
those This one is so powerful And I
try to remind myself all the time To
the point that I end up memorizing it
I saw those who attribute Themselves to knowledge
It doesn't just have to be a person
of knowledge It could be a person of
authority Someone who the people look up to
Someone who my brothers and my sisters Is
giving service to the community The people respect
They stopped being conscious Of Allah Watching them
when they were alone So what happened?
Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala Caused the good that is mentioned
about them In public to disappear فَكَانُوا مَوْجُودِينَ
People stopped yearning to see them And
their hearts Stopped wanting to meet them So
he says when an individual is sincere Do
you know how people sometimes say Wallah this
guy seems like he's sincere man Allah azawajal
will clothe this individual now With nur, with
light, with awe That the people will have
for this individual This is why my brothers
and my sisters You know one of the
greatest advices That I was given When I
asked for some actions that One keeps between
him and Allah That nobody knows about Is
That you are sincere in the things That
you think you're sincere in And تُخْلِصَ فِي
Right?
Sometimes you think you're being sincere And then
that sincerity requires what?
For you to work on your sincerity I'll
give you guys an example That inshallah you
might be able to understand Right?
Have you guys heard of Sulayman ibn Dawud
al-Hashimi You know what Shafi'ah said
about him مَا رَأَيْتُ أَعْقَلَ مِنْ هَذَيْنِ I
didn't see anyone Or I've never met anyone
Who is more smarter than these two One
of them was Sulayman ibn Dawud al-Hashimi
The other one was what?
Al-Imam Ahmed But he's not a household
name this individual Sulayman ibn Dawud al-Hashimi
Also Imam Ahmed said about him يَصْلُحُ عَنْ
He's fit enough to be
the khalifa The leader of the Muslims, Allahu
Akbar You know what he said My brothers,
my sisters, I'll give you guys an example
Give me a hadith That is maybe 10
lines long Does anyone know?
Huh?
Hussant?
What's your name, my friend?
Abdullah, Jazakallah Khair Hadith Jibreel is long, right?
It's long It's very long, right?
Compared to the other hadith Hussant Imagine now
I'm sitting here And I'm narrating this hadith
Back in the day, brothers and sisters They
would have sittings Where they would narrate hadiths
And people would be writing it down And
then they would what?
Go and relate it to others And by
that you will find a chain of narration
This guy heard it from this guy And
that guy heard it from that narrator and
so on and so forth Are you guys
with me?
He said I may narrate a hadith And
then I have a specific intention And then
he says My brothers and my sisters And
then I might come to another part of
the hadith And then my intention begins to
change Let's just say he's on line Number
6 Intention begins to change For example now
More people start walking in And then the
shaitan is whispering to Abu Taimya Start quoting
things that will make them Be blown away
By your knowledge Try to impress them Wallahi
shaitan Comes to those who sit here And
whispers to them Repeat that so it can
come out as a nice reel on instagram
Brothers and sisters So that teacher Constantly requires
To check his intention And that's why he
says at the end It could be that
one hadith It requires what?
Multiple intentions Can you guys understand and see
why?
You might be giving advice To somebody You
might be doing a certain islamic Project And
then the motives Can easily change What are
you doing it for?
Are you really doing it for Allah?
Right that's why you always need to ask
yourself Before the action While you're doing that
act of worship And then after it as
well Did I really do it for the
sake of Allah?
Am I doing it for the sake of
Allah?
You know after doing an act of worship
He says if you don't feel That sweetness
in your heart Then you should Suspect what
you've just done Maybe there was what?
A dakhal Fi qalbik Right?
He says Because Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
From his attributes Is that he rewards you
For the good that you do And he
says one of the ways that Allah will
reward you After you've done the act of
worship You will feel some sort of peace
in your heart My brothers and my sisters
And he says if you don't then suspect
it He says He says Because
Allah must Reward that individual Right Then he
says My brothers and my sisters If you
are sincere In an act my brothers and
my sisters Will that always be accepted?
Or is there something else?
Is sincerity enough To get your actions accepted?
Ahsant Anyone else?
If I do an act of worship And
I'm so sincere in it Will that be
accepted By Allah azawajal?
Or does there have to be another condition?
The other condition my brothers and my sisters
It has to be in line With the
sunnah of the messenger Sallallahu alayhi wasallam I'm
sure most of us have memorized the first
verse Of surat al mulk What is it?
And then?
And then?
Ahsanu amalan What does ahsanu amalan mean?
Ahsanu amalan, the best of actions If you
want to translate that It means what?
The most sincere And the most in line
with the hadith The guidance of the messenger
Sallallahu alayhi wasallam And the opposite of that
My brothers and my sisters is what?
Bid'ah The opposite of the sunnah is
what?
Bid'ah Ahsant What's the definition of innovation?
The best definition my brothers and my sisters
is The definition of Imam al-shatibi rahmatullahi
alayhi Is the most comprehensive He says He
says He says It is a way Right
In religious matters A path that an individual
Takes in religious matters Right, which excludes Habits
And matters of the dunya Someone sometimes may
say to you But you're taking an aeroplane
That wasn't there in the time of the
messenger But no, we mention that which Has
been invented or a path In the religion
Why?
The messenger said Whoever now innovates In our
affairs What does that mean?
The religion Whoever now innovates In the matters
of the dunya No, you can do whatever
you want in the terms of dunya The
asal is that it's permissible Until proven otherwise
As for the deen my brothers and my
sisters It is prohibited until Proven otherwise Which
we'll come on to inshallah in a moment
When I give you guys a couple of
principles It has been invented It didn't have
a previous Example or a model This is
very very important my brothers and my sisters
Because people bring to us All types of
practices Every now and again Right?
And the person says I have good intentions
It seems like a good thing No, when
it comes to act of worship It has
to be in line with what the messenger
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam And his companions done
He then says Right?
Resembles the shariah This is another crucial part
of the definition Because innovation In the religion
my brothers and my sisters Is of two
types One that has absolutely no basis as
number one Number two Something that resembles the
shariah In its foundation But it opposes the
shariah In its forms and details And most
innovations are of this nature Let me ask
you guys a question Reading Qul huwa allahu
ahad Is it haram?
Does it have a basis In the religion?
Good Let me tell you guys something Every
time I walk out of my house I'm
going to read Qul huwa allahu ahad What
do you guys think?
And I'm going to specify Every time I
leave the house I'm going to read qul
huwa allahu ahad What do you guys think?
Or let me give you guys another example
Every time I leave the house My brothers
and my sisters I'm going to read Is
reading quran haram guys?
Why are you guys being so harsh with
me?
This verse from surah ar-rahman Every time
I leave the house I'm going to read
it What do you guys think?
Every time I leave my house I'm going
to read Now I make it a normal
practice Every time I leave at this time
I'm going to read Remember what I mentioned
here That it's of two types Number one
that which has no basis And number two
my brothers and my sisters It resembles the
sharia and its foundation And reading that verse
Has a foundation in religion right?
But it opposes the sharia And its forms
and its details Why am I Specifying it
for this particular time?
Right?
This is now When it becomes problematic Right?
What is intended by this is Trying to
get Closer to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
With this act of worship that you're doing
in this manner You know my brothers and
my sisters You have Sa'eed ibn Musayyib
You guys heard of Sa'eed ibn Musayyib?
He is one of the seven Fuqaha One
of the seven fuqaha From amongst the tabi
'een Studied with Abu Huraira radiyaAllahu ta'ala
He saw an individual My brothers and my
sisters Praying Before fajr What do you pray
before fajr?
After the adhan has gone off The Messenger
of Allah said Two raka'at that you
pray of fajr Is better than the dunya
and everything in it This is the two
sunnah So he saw an individual Not only
praying these two But another two and another
two And another two more and more and
more So then Sa'eed ibn Musayyib radiyaAllahu
ta'ala He said stop doing this Why
are you doing this?
You should only pray two You know what
he was responded back with?
By that person who was praying so many
Of these raka'at Right?
This is an act of worship isn't it?
Why would Sa'eed ibn Musayyib stop him
from this?
He said to him O Abu Muhammad Which
is his kunya Will Allah punish me For
praying all of these prayers?
Right?
He said to him no Allah is not
going to punish you for prayer But Allah
will Punish you For opposing the sunnah of
the Messenger of Allah Allahu Akbar That's very
very important Can you see that my brothers
and my sisters?
You want your actions to be accepted Right?
You've gone out your way to do acts
of worship And you put so much effort
into it That then it may well be
That on yawm al qiyamah my brothers and
my sisters Like you actually Wasted your efforts
Likewise my brothers and my sisters Why don't
we pray a sixth prayer?
Why not a sixth prayer?
I'm going to give you guys my brothers
and my sisters These principles here They're very
very important principles when it comes to the
sunnah Right?
Number one The asal is that you cannot
do An act of worship Until you have
an evidence This Yahya Baikal Right?
You cannot Do an act of worship You
have to go up to a sheikh What's
the evidence for this?
Is there anything from the sunnah of the
Messenger of Allah so I can do this?
Let me ask you guys a question Rinsing
your mouth after drinking milk What do you
guys think of that?
Huh?
It's fine Why?
Is this a sunnah?
He said no My brothers and my sisters
Did you know that this is something That
the Messenger of Allah would do Every time
he drank milk he would rinse his mouth
Sunnah It's in the beginning of Sahih al
Bukhari The chapter of wudu Like can you
see my brothers Many of us didn't know
that And most people don't know that But
it may well be that they end up
doing Things that the least you can say
is What's that for?
Stick to what is authentically reported Right?
However when it comes to cultural practices Traditions
and normalities The asal is That you can
do whatever you want Until proven otherwise Sometimes
Sometimes sisters they have A rishta Do you
know what rishta is?
What's a rishta?
What's a rishta?
Marriage proposal Sent After the marriage proposal, this
is before the wedding They have all of
these different get togethers Is there anything wrong
with that?
It's a cultural practice There's nothing wrong with
that Because the base ruling is That when
it comes to cultural practices That you can
do whatever until proven otherwise The Somalis they
have a very nice aada Somalis have a
very nice aada When you're at home After
you've finished eating The baris and the pasta
with your hands And the hilib Your hands
are oily They bring to you A bowl
of water for you to wash Right?
Am I wrong to say that?
Somalis are laughing They bring you a bowl
Two bowls, one has a shampoo in it
Not the shampoo I mean the fairy liquid
in there And then the other one You
wash your hands And then you put it
in the other one Right?
Is there anything wrong with that?
Should I say bring me the evidence As
to why you can do this?
No This is an aada So what?
It's a cultural practice When it comes to
cultural practice It is permissible until proven otherwise
Islam did not come to abolish Cultural practices
and traditions Only If it was against Allah's
law Only then it would be what?
Abolished Like the riba al-jahiliyya The riba
of Abbas ibn Abdul Muttalib If you had
a debt My brothers and my sisters And
the time of paying the debt was for
example 10 days from now And then the
time came For you to pay back your
debt And you didn't have the money You
needed a delay They would say to you
Atakh ziyalan Or turbi Are you going to
pay it off now?
Or should we do riba?
It will give you an extended deadline Right?
But you would have to pay more Messenger
of Allah came to abolish that Because Islam
goes against it And what Allah azawajal wants
goes against it Not only does it destroy
you On an individual level But it also
destroys The economy and the society Altogether The
second principle My brothers and my sisters The
whole religion is complete It doesn't need anyone
To come and start adding things into it
On the day of Arafah Which is today
my brothers and my sisters Umar ibn Khattab
radiallahu ta'ala Anhu was approached By a
Jew You know what the Jew said to
him?
Ayatun fee kitaabillahi Or Ayatun fee kitaabikum takraoonaha
al yawmi eeda There is a verse that
you have in your Quran That if it
was Sent down upon us We would have
taken that day as an Eid Does anyone
know the verse?
The day when I completed The study of
religion This is why the great Imam Imam
Malik rahmatullahi alayhi mentioned Whoever brings in A
newly invented practice And he thinks that it's
nice and great This person has claimed that
the messenger He deceived Right?
Conveying the message This is what Imam Malik
rahmatullahi alayhi mentioned And that is because Allah
sent down this verse He says Whatever was
in religion Then Meaning in the time of
the companions It won't be a religion today
Even the great companion Hudaifa radiallahu ta'ala
He said Any act of worship that the
messenger And his companions should I say The
companions Did not worship Allah with and don't
do it Even me my brothers and my
sisters You have every right to come up
to me and say What you are doing?
Where did you get this from?
Do you have a precedence in it?
Does that make sense?
This is our religion Bring forth Your evidences
if you are indeed truthful This is clear
We are protecting our religion From becoming like
the religion of the Christians Who lost their
foundation Right?
Because the Pope would come along Or the
priest He'll just start ordaining and legislating things
That he wants To the point that the
people lost trust in the church Am I
wrong to say that?
Now they're trying to what?
Normalize Being extremely colourful Right?
This is what they're normalizing Under their laws
And their regulations This is what you call
tamir Watering down the religion Packaging it in
a way or moulding it So that we
can be what?
Politically correct No Islam says something Right?
This is what Islam says If you want
to go and do that Go and do
as you wish as Allah says Indeed Allah
sees whatever you're going to be doing You
know brother and sister I'll tell you guys
about someone called Jacob Rees-Mogg You guys
heard of him?
Who's Jacob Rees-Mogg?
Huh?
He said he's a Tory boy What did
you say?
Sorry he said Tory party member I took
a lot of inspiration from him Wallahi al
-azim Jacob Rees-Mogg once upon a time
Was on the Good Morning Show When at
the time he was being hosted by None
other than Brian Pearce Morgan Who has finally
made tawbah Huh?
He's repented from his positions Not to Allah
but to the public A little too late
my friend You've lost the public Long story
cut short my brothers and my sisters He
was being interviewed You type into YouTube it
comes up I've seen this video Maybe 3
or 4 years ago And I was like
Hesant Right?
Is it right for us my brothers and
my sisters As religious figures and speakers To
just remain silent And see our young children
Being stripped away from their faith Isn't this
type of treachery?
Right?
And we don't clarify for the people He's
being interrogated by Brian Pearce Morgan And he's
saying to him What do you think about
homosexuality?
And by the way my brothers and sisters
I'm not inciting violence here Make that very
very clear He goes According to the scripture
This is not How you conduct your marriage
Or how you conduct your life And I'm
just paraphrasing here And then he keeps pressing
him What do you think though?
Because it's not about what I think According
to the scripture Are you brothers and sisters
with me?
Anyways how did we get to all of
this?
Christians lost trust Right?
In their religious figures Because of them trying
to water down Trying to be politically correct
If Allah has called it something in my
Quran So Allah said Forget about what I
think I'm unimportant Number three My brothers and
my sisters When it comes to the text
That I used Number one The evidence needs
to be authentic And it has to be
And it has to be what my brothers
and my sisters?
Used in context I can't use Narrations Narrations
that are unauthentic When it comes to Ahkam
When it comes to rulings However there are
many scholars who say When it comes to
Right?
Righteous Or virtuous actions They're a bit more
lenient in that With conditions that Ibn Hajar
and others mentioned So it has to be
authentic And it has to be used in
context Like Allah says in the Quran Woe
to those who pray A Christian comes up
to me And says your holy Quran Says
Woe to those who pray And then that
miskeen is sitting there Oh Subhanallah I didn't
know that my Quran says this Firstly it's
authentic That verse from the Quran Of course
it is Is it being used in context?
Finish the verse my friend Those who are
laxed and lazy And who don't do the
salah properly Drag their feet Also Allah says
in the Quran Oh you believe don't come
near the prayer Oh you believe Don't come
near the prayer What do you guys think?
Complete verse While you are intoxicated So It
has to be context And sometimes the answer
to your question Is another verse We have
to look at the religion holistically From every
angle And the fourth principle that I want
to mention My brothers and my sisters Is
Someone may do Something that is innovated Right
Pay attention here And he is trying to
glorify Or should I say Do ta'zeem
of the messenger Being respectful And Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala Rewards him for his respect
But he might not necessarily reward him For
that act that he is doing So we
need to be easy with the people Right
He says someone may do an action Believing
that this is what?
Correct And he doesn't know that this is
actually prohibited But then he is rewarded Why
is he being rewarded?
He is being rewarded of Putting in the
effort to follow the messenger But for that
particular act He won't be rewarded for it
Does that make sense?
You know my brothers and my sisters And
I'm going to conclude this point with this
He said Innovations are more beloved to Iblis
than what?
Than sins, why?
Does anyone know?
Why are innovations more beloved to Allah Than
sins?
You know my brothers and my sisters How
many a time do you Come across How
many a time do you come across An
individual who is committing zina And is saying
please make dua for me I'm wrong, I
shouldn't be doing this Sometimes even brothers Call
me Who is engaging in homosexual Practices And
he says Please make dua for me He
The one that is calling me knows that
he is wrong But he is asking me
For my duas And he knows That he
needs to what?
Repent from it And that this is according
To the scripture Displeasing to Allah Right?
But the person now who is doing innovative
Practices he believes is getting closer To Allah
azawajal Right?
And he won't stop And this is exactly
what Sufyan al-Thawri rahmatullahi alayhi mentioned The
next line of poetry My brothers and my
sisters is When al-Sa'di Abdulrahman al-Nasir
al-Sa'di Or you can say al-Sa'di
It's more correct to say al-Sa'di He
says when speaking about the qualities And the
characteristics of those Who Pursued that path To
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and the hereafter
The characteristics and the traits Of the awliya,
the beloved servants Of Allah jalla fi'ula
He said they structured in a way where
They worship Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala Between
fear And hope When they do a good
deed My brothers and my sisters Right?
They hope and likewise they fear What is
it that they hope for?
And what is it that they fear?
They hope that Allah azza wa jal Accepts
this good deed While at the same time
they fear that it may Well be rejected
And when they now do a bad deed
They fear that Allah Will punish them for
it While at the same time They hope
that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala Right?
Will forgive them Once they seek repentance Right?
So they're always Between hope and fear You
know my brothers and my Sisters, if you
put hope And fear on a two Sided
scale Right?
It needs to be Balanced.
If one outweighs the Other, you're going to
have a problem How many a time Do
I hear somebody saying Akhi, Allah is so
rahim Ar rahman ur rahim Allah is so
merciful Right?
Allah will forgive us For whatever we do.
There's nothing to Worry about And Islam is
all just love, love, love Love, love.
This is taking A part of the Qur
'an and leaving Another.
How many a time My brothers and my
sisters that Allah azza wa jal Threaten Those
who do certain deeds Isn't this also part
of the Qur'an?
Right?
While at the same time Allah azza wa
jal Is extremely merciful Right?
And as I mentioned before, if one Dies
upon a major sin that he Did not
repent from And he had to hate, he's
under the Will of Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala, right?
This is our belief system If Allah Chooses
to punish him, sooner or later He will
come out.
Isn't This so my brothers and my sisters?
However my brothers and my sisters Do any
of us even Want to have a one
percent chance Of being touched by the hellfire?
Put your hand up if you've ever Been
burnt by an Iron or a stove MashaAllah
Most of us Irresponsible People What happens when
you Burn yourself?
For a whole week You're going to be
using Vaseline Sahih?
This is the Fire of this dunya brothers
and sisters Messenger of Allah a.s Said
Right?
The fire that you kindle with Is just
one seventieth Of the fire of the hereafter
You can't bear this fire But you can
bear the fire of the hereafter My brothers
and my sisters If you look at the
salaf And when I say salaf I'm not
talking about people that are breathing today I'm
talking about the Salaf means the righteous predecessors
Salaf al salih Unfortunately this is a term
that has been hijacked Right?
And completely Ruined The salaf my brothers and
my sisters Like Abu Hurair a.s He's
on his deathbed and he began to cry
So he was said What makes you cry?
I don't cry that I'm about to miss
out On your dunya But
that which makes me cry is That the
journey is long And that which I have
to show For my deeds in this world
Is little And that I'm going to wake
up Right?
And I don't know where I'm going to
be taken Either to the jannah or to
the naaf And we know my brothers and
my sisters That Abu Hurair a.s He
fainted three times As it has been reported
Right?
You know why he would faint My brothers
and my sisters, have you guys heard Of
the hadith of the three Groups of people
Or the three types of people They would
be used to Ignite the fire And one
of them is A person of knowledge Who
didn't act upon it Right?
He would say that I have done this
for your sake The quran and knowledge They
would be said to him, kadab, you're a
liar But you did this Trying to seek
the face of other people You didn't do
it Sincerely He
said That which I feared the most When
I'm held now to account You knew But
you didn't act upon That which you knew
Ibn Mas'ud a.s He would say
This is the person who used to carry
The sandals of the Prophet s.a.w
If only, if only You guys knew my
sins None of you guys would have followed
me I
would have been preferred For me to be
called Abdullah ibn Rautha Do you guys know
what Rautha means?
Feces That you attribute me to feces Right?
And I wish that Allah a.s.w.
Forgives my sins Hudaifah a.s. Who is
known as Sahib al-Sin The companion who
knew the secrets Of the Messenger s.a
.w Messenger s.a.w would tell him
Who the hypocrites are He would say hypocrites
But he wouldn't tell anyone After the Messenger
s.a.w passed away Umar ibn Khattab
a.s Who the Shaitaan used to be
scared of Messenger s.a.w said about
him The Shaitaan is terrified of you Never
would he take a street Except that the
Shaitaan would take a street other than it
By the way, a quick benefit they took
from this is That the more greater your
Iman is The more You are going to
be distanced From Jinn possession This is what
was extrapolated from this Messenger s.a.w
you work on your Iman You do acts
of worship The more the Jinn will stay
away from you But when you let your
guard down And you start doing Haram The
Jinn will what?
Play games with you He says The one
who had the secrets Of the Prophet s
.a.w Umar walked past me and I
was sitting in the Masjid So and so
Has passed away Bear witness Meaning was he
from the hypocrites He turned to me And
saw me while I was sitting So he
recognized me And came back to me And
said O Hudaifah I was about to leave
the Masjid He turned to me And he
grabbed me and said O Hudaifah I seek
refuge in Allah Am I from amongst those
That the Messenger s.a.w Counted to
be From amongst the hypocrites Allahu Akbar Am
I from the hypocrites Umar s.a.w
He Umar my brother and my sister who
said If only I knew that Allah Accepted
one Sujood of mine One Sujood I would
have been happy to meet him Why?
Because Allah says Allah Allah Azzawajal only accepts
From the Muttaqeen, those who have Taqwa May
Allah Azzawajal on this great day My brothers
and my sisters make us from them And
accept our good deeds Our fast and whatever
else that we are doing That is pleasing
to Allah Azzawajal Ameen And it's worth mentioning
my brothers and my sisters Dave Arafah Abdullahi
Mubarak He said I came to Sufiyan al
-Thawri I came to Sufiyan al-Thawri He
said He said I came to Sufiyan al
-Thawri And I told him or I asked
him Should I say Who is the worst
Who is the worst From amongst the people
who have gathered today You know what he
said He said The one who Thinks that
Allah Azzawajal Will not forgive him He is
from amongst the worst Of those who have
gathered today My brothers and my sisters And
we get this all the time I've become
so Engrossed and ingrained in sin There's no
way back For me Wallahi my brothers and
my sisters You may take a thousand steps
away from Allah it takes one step to
come back to him.
One step to come back to Allah SWT.
And then he goes on to say, my
brothers and my sisters,
From the traits and
the qualities, my brothers and my sisters, that
he says or that he mentions from the
qualities of the Awliya, the close beloved servants
of Allah, they who Allah SWT has filled
their hearts with much affection and love for
the Most Merciful.
Are we from them, my brothers and my
sisters?
The chosen servants of Allah Azza wa Jal
whose hearts have become so filled with the
love of Allah SWT.
And I'm going to inshaAllah ta'ala quickly
run through this.
Ten points that Ibn Al-Qayyim mentions, it
brings about the love of Allah and it
causes you to have love for Allah SWT.
I've explained it before, you can find it
on my YouTube channel.
But I'm gonna quickly mention it inshaAllah ta
'ala.
Number one, and I hope you guys write
it down very very quickly.
That will cause you to love Allah and
Allah Azza wa Jal will love you.
Number one, reciting the book of Allah and
contemplating on it.
Number two, people always ask, how can I
increase my Iman?
I feel so spiritually dead and empty.
Here you go, my brothers and my sisters.
Number two guys, getting closer to Allah through
sunnah acts.
This is of course after obligatory acts.
Number three, remembering Allah Azza wa Jal much.
Number four, putting Allah SWT before the things
that you love.
You know my brothers and my sisters, at
times we find ourselves in this predicament.
My friends on Eid, which is tomorrow, right?
MashaAllah, this poem today was extremely relevant.
Your friends are going to go and do
haram and the shaitan is whispering, right?
He's whispering, Wallahi, just one night, one night,
one night.
Just one day, one day, and that's it.
And then you can go back to your
acts of worship and you end up destroying
everything that you've done in the last ten.
Eid al-Fitr, ten nights of Ramadan, right?
The last ten.
Eid al-Adha, the ten days of Dhul
Hijjah.
You end up destroying it.
You know my brothers and my sisters, I
speak about this a lot.
How an individual, right, may end his life.
It could be that there's alcohol in his
mouth, it could be that he's singing, it
could be that he's doing...
I've spoken about it multiple times.
To the point that some of them try
to mock me speaking about a certain type
of ending.
Some of you guys know what I'm talking
about.
I remember last Eid, again they tried to
make fun.
I gave this lecture in Green Lane Masjid,
right?
Where I talked about how every single Eid,
I hear about someone who died with alcohol
in his mouth.
Or who died with music being blasted in
his car.
And as they do on Twitter, I think
it's a joke, huh?
Everything is a joke.
Wallahi, right away I got a phone call,
someone died.
Even in Canada, I was told on Eid
day, the brother himself messaged me saying, that
was my friend.
Wallahi, he messaged me on Instagram, I've never
met this brother.
He said, on the day of Eid, he
died.
And then this brother was sharing a clip
of mine.
And then you have to make that decision.
My friends are Allah.
It's times like this, my brothers, you become
very beloved to Allah.
And you will feel something in your heart
that cannot be put into words.
Number five, my brothers and my sisters, exposing
the heart to the names and attributes of
Allah.
A lot of you guys are either married,
or you're going to get married.
And you're going to pick a certain girl,
that you will choose from amongst all of
the other girls that you will be having
marriage sit-downs with.
Sahih?
But you will pick her, and she will
be the lucky one.
Or will you be the lucky one?
Actually, we don't use this term lucky.
You guys know what I'm talking about.
The fortunate one.
Sahih?
Why would you pick her over others?
Because of all the things that you came
to know about her.
And then later on you find out, MashaAllah,
she prays in the night.
What an amazing Bushra.
Sahih?
You like someone based on everything you come
to know about her.
That's just human kind.
We respect people based on what we come
to know about them.
Likewise when it comes to Allah, He may
say something and it falls on deaf ears.
Why?
Because we don't know anything about Him.
And our only source of knowledge that we
have of Allah is what?
His names and attributes.
The more you learn of Him, the more
conscious you will be.
When you are under that blanket and you're
about to do haram.
Can you see how the tawheed is connected
to our day to day dealings and our
day to day actions?
The more you learn about Him, the more
conscious you will be of Allah.
When that sin presents itself when you're about
to commit haram.
Number six, my brothers and my sisters, recognizing
Allah's blessings.
When Allah has given me so much, how
can I disobey Him?
How can I be disrespectful to the commands
of Allah?
Number seven, and this is hard to put
into words.
Totally breaking down in front of Allah.
He says, Sometimes we just break down to
Allah far away from everyone.
And when I say everyone, I mean your
phone as well.
Because your phone is more than everyone.
It's you and Allah, you break down.
Number eight, my brothers and my sisters, being
alone with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in
the last dead.
When Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala comes down
in a manner that suits His majesty as
mentioned by the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam,
haditha bi huraira, yanzilu rabbuna tabarak wa ta
'ala kulli laylatin ila assamai dunya.
Number nine, my brothers and my sisters, sitting
with the righteous.
Who remind you of Allah and you take
the best of their speeches.
It increases your faith.
Number ten, placing a barrier between you and
everything that is going to occupy from Allah.
Muba'adatu kulli sababin yahoolu bayna alqalbi wa
bayna Allahi azawajal.
Are you brothers and sisters with me?
Everything that is going to what?
Get me closer to the hellfire or to
haram, I cut it out.
I always say, it's one thing identifying the
problem, it's another finding a solution.
First you have to accept that there's a
problem.
And then, okay, what am I going to
do?
What is it that is dragging me to
this haram?
Is it this phone?
I don't know.
Is it a social media app?
Maybe I need to take a break from
Instagram.
Brothers and sisters, you have footballers, tell me
if I'm wrong.
Every now and again, right?
I think it was Rashford, the most recent
one, who said, I'm taking time out, I'm
going to focus on my football.
The kuffar do it.
Or I'm going to, not the phone, he
said, I'm going to go offline when it
comes to Instagram.
And it isn't even for Allah.
It's for what?
To save his career.
Sahih?
I read on this stuff guys, don't worry.
I know.
Number five, my brothers and my sisters.
Sorry, we've finished the ten, right?
This is now the next line of poetry.
From the traits of these individuals, my
brothers and my sisters, who are close to
Allah, is that they constantly remember Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala, in secret, and in open,
and at all times.
And this is how the Messenger ﷺ used
to be.
He would remember Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
My brothers and my sisters,
is it hard when you're driving from one
place to another, استغفر الله استغفر الله استغفر
Right?
There are people, my brothers and my sisters,
that walk on the face of this earth.
Whenever they need something, Allah azzawajal brings it
to them straight away.
They need something they don't even
need to ask, but Allah azzawajal hastily brings
it to them.
Why?
Because Allah says,
Right?
Make mention of me, and I will make
mention of you.
Right?
You know people always ask, this ibadah is
hard, I can see some of you guys
looking like you're about to faint.
A man came to the Masjid
and he said, اِنَّ مِن شَرَائِعِ الْإِسْلَامِ اِنَّ
I'm tired as well.
The obligations
and the commands of Islam have become too
much for me.
What was he asking?
What was he looking for?
For the Messenger of Allah azzawajal to say
to him, don't worry, you don't need to
pray.
Meaning, give me something that will help me
now carry out some of these acts of
worship that may at times be tough.
Right?
Right?
Holy war.
And I think I have to mention and
disclaim here.
No, I'm not recruiting brothers and sisters.
I'm not recruiting just in case we have
someone here that works for channel 4.
Right?
That wants to take what I say out
of context.
No.
While at the same time I'm not going
to be apologetic.
It is part of our religion.
But it has rules and regulations and conditions.
It's been prescribed upon you but it's what?
Hard.
So you know what he said to him,
the Messenger of Allah azzawajal.
Keep your
tongue moist of the remembrance of Allah.
Also from the benefits of dhikr, and I
really like this one.
Ibn Al-Qayyim mentions, he's got a whole
kitab.
Right?
Called Al-Wabil Usaid.
Where he brings the benefits of dhikr.
Read it.
I think it's translated in English.
Is it?
Translated, right?
One of the benefits he mentions is
that we know when you busy your tongue
with the remembrance of Allah, it busies it
from haram.
Because there's no space on your tongue to
now speak about haram.
And so on and so forth.
And the benefits are many, my brothers and
my sisters.
Then he says,
They get closer to Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala through what?
Huh?
Through righteous deeds.
And by leaving off that which is displeasing
to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
And we've spoken about this, right, a number
of times.
And we know the hadith al-Qudsi,
There's nothing more than one gaining closeness
to me than doing the obligatory acts.
And then he says, one keeps getting close
He will keep getting closer to
me with the naafilah, the nawafil, the supererogatory
voluntary acts, until I end up loving him.
Right?
My brothers and my sisters, from the time
that we wake up all the way till
the time we sleep, there are sunnah acts
that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught us.
How many of these sunnah acts do we
actually apply when it's so easy, my brothers
and my sisters?
And we'll be able to acquire the love
of Allah and to be with the Messenger
of Allah ﷺ.
Imagine you're sitting side by side with the
Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asking him questions
that you all your life needed answers for,
just next to you.
Imagine that, my brothers and my sisters.
And you will have access to him, right,
more than others because of how much you
used to apply his sunnah.
Every step that you took and every move
that you made.
How did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do
this?
Right.
And then he mentions, we're nearly done brothers,
I promise you.
Couple of lines left.
Put your hand up if your hand is
tired of writing.
I'm not even writing, I'm exhausted.
It's fine guys.
InshaAllah you guys will appreciate your notes.
Same way I appreciate a lot of these
statements now.
Right.
Sometimes you read Ibn Taymiyyah, Ibn Al-Qayyim,
Al-Bukhari.
You know the righteous predecessors of the past
and it gives you gems.
But you don't note it down and then
sometimes you feel like crying.
التخصير والنقصان This part is honestly عجيب يعني,
it's amazing.
He says that their way is to do
righteous deeds, the obligatory acts and the voluntary
acts, while at the same time they see
themselves falling short.
You see that there is still room for
improvement.
10 days of Dhul Hijjah, I've done great
past one year and the future one year.
I fasted on the day of Arafah, I'm
good brother.
I can relax now and do whatever I
need to do tomorrow.
Sunday, Zah?
It's a holiday.
I can go all out.
And then I repent to Allah Azza wa
Jalla.
La, my brothers and my sisters.
They do all of these righteous deeds but
they still see themselves falling short.
Have you guys heard of Aisha radiAllahu ta
'ala?
Everyone has heard of her, right?
What was the dua that the Messenger of
Allah taught her in the last 10 nights
of Ramadan?
Does anyone know?
Huh?
Allahumma innaka Come on, repeat after me guys,
we want this dua to get accepted.
tuhibbu al'afwa fa'afu anni Have you
guys ever looked up the translation of this?
Oh Allah, you are a'afu, you left
the partners apart and me.
He's teaching this to Aisha when she asked
him, Oh Messenger of Allah, would you advise
me to do on these last 10 nights?
And she's been working so hard.
You've done all of these deeds but then
you ask Allah to forgive you?
Shouldn't you only ask Allah for forgiveness if
you've committed a sin?
Huh, brothers and sisters?
This is a misconception that many people have.
You don't only repent, I think I'm gonna
end up breaking this table.
People only think that you repent to Allah
when you've done something wrong.
Well, I'm gonna teach you guys something that
is even more amazing.
Ibn Rajah mentioned, look what he says guys.
I ask Allah Azza wa Jalla to allow
us to become like these ones that are
being mentioned here.
You know what he said?
layali al'asha Messenger of Allah, peace be
upon him, he only instructed her, my brothers
and my sisters, to ask for forgiveness after
working so hard in these 20 days of
Ramadan.
Why?
Look what he says guys.
This is righteousness on a completely different level.
He says, anna al'arifina yajtahiduna fil a'mal
thumma laa yarawna li'anfusihim a'malan saalihan wa
laa haalan wa laa maqala fa yarja'uni
muqassir Let me ask you guys a question.
A smart sinner, what does he do?
What does a smart sinner do after having
sinned?
Repents to Allah, breaks down, Ya Allah, forgive
me, and he's crying his eyes out, right?
He's saying, that someone who's done such righteous
deeds, he breaks down into tears, the same
way the smart sinner does.
Allahu Akbar.
Who from amongst us has ever done this?
Forget about whoever's done it.
Who's even ever thought about doing such thing,
my brothers and my sisters?
Right.
Are you guys with me?
That's another level of righteousness, my brothers and
my sisters.
May Allah give us the tawfiq to become
like that.
Honey, I'm still in the class.
Assalamualaikum.
So after doing righteous deeds, my brothers and
my sisters, we followed up with another, and
another, and another.
That's from the signs of an accepted act.
Right.
Even Ibn Al-Qaymi said,
From the signs
of an accepted act, is that you don't
think much of it.
Right.
You see it to be small, you look
down on it, I didn't do much.
And that keeps you on your toes.
Remember what I said before, worshiping Allah between
what?
Love and hope.
Right.
The example that I like is, someone who's
late for his flight, he has hope that
he will grab it, while at the same
time, he has fear, a bit like me,
who's always late, that they're gonna shut the
counter.
Then he says, my brothers and my sisters,
Or in some it says, قَدْ
Or have we skipped one?
We skipped one.
مِنْ إِحْسَانِ And then he said, نَزَلُوا بِمَنْزِلَةِ
He mentions, my brothers and my sisters, two
levels here.
The level of patience and the level of
rida in these two lines of poetry.
My brothers and my sisters, what does the
صَبَر mean?
It means patience, right?
How does an individual adorn himself with this
quality of patience?
Ibn al-Qayyim r.a, he mentions three
components.
Right?
Two, hold back your tongue from complaining.
Who should you complain to?
Allah.
What's the evidence?
And then he also says,
One
second brothers, I don't want to get this
wrong, and give you guys wrong information.
Let me just get the exact quote.
Three components, my brothers and my sisters.
My brothers and my sisters, when we don't
know something, should we just give out the
knowledge?
How can I just answer it?
This is deen Allah.
Right?
Holding your nafs back,
your soul back from what?
Being enraged at what Allah has decreed.
Sometimes you say, Oh, how can Allah عز
و جل do this to me?
Why is it happening?
He doesn't deserve it.
What do you mean He doesn't deserve it?
Are you knowing of what so and so
deserves and why He doesn't?
Right?
And then He says,
To hold back your tongue from complaining.
And to hold
back your limbs from what?
From sinning.
Sometimes what do we do, my brothers and
my sisters?
He committed zina with my sister, so I'm
going to go and do it to his
sister.
Oh, he's done haram to me, so I'm
going to go and do haram with him.
That's not patience.
And then my brothers and my sisters, being
patient is one thing.
You know what's a level higher than that?
A level higher than that is being satisfied
by what Allah Azawajal has decreed.
Can you see a different level?
It's one thing being patient.
And then now my brothers and my sisters
being what?
Satisfied with it.
That's what they refer to as what?
The rida.
And then there's a level higher than that
as well.
To be thankful.
One goes for a trial and tribulation, he
goes and thanks, alhamdulillah, jazakallah.
Not jazakallah, that's for...
But you thank Allah Azawajal.
One may even go down into prostration of
thanks.
Right?
And that's a completely different level.
Like you look at Ibn Taymiyyah rahmatullahi alayhi,
when he was expelled from his lands at
times, or should I say when he was
thrown into prison.
He would say,
Rida, being satisfied, it is the jannah of
this dunya, my brothers and my sisters.
And that which gives the abideen, the devout
worshippers, peace.
And he would say,
What are my enemies going to do to
me?
And my paradise is in
my heart.
Right?
Some of the scholars mentioned his jannah that
he was talking about was what?
الرضا, the satisfaction.
The next line of poetry, my brothers and
my sisters.
Does anyone have the text with them?
What's the next line?
little bit left, my brothers and my sisters,
we're coming to an end.
It says, these people, these beloved servants of
Allah, they thank the one who has the
biggest favor over the creation, with their hearts,
their tongues and their limbs.
How do you thank Allah
with your heart?
By recognizing the blessings of Allah عز و
جل.
Right?
And we are not from those that are
mentioned in the verse,
Right?
They see it, they know it, but then
they deny it.
You recognize that this is from Allah عز
و جل and you don't attribute it to
yourself.
Right?
And then you thank Allah
through your limbs and through your tongue as
well.
How do we thank Allah
Through our tongue.
How?
With our limbs?
By doing righteous deeds and by what?
Withholding our limbs from haram.
That's why the Messenger
Right?
Whenever a good news came to me, كان
he would rush to.
Also when he used to pray throughout the
night and his feet would swell.
He would say, أفلا أكون عبد شكورا Aisha
would say to him رضي الله عنها Why
are you doing this to yourself?
Allah has forgiven you past and future sins?
Because shall I not be a thankful slave?
What does that show us?
You thank Allah with your limbs.
And then he says, my brothers and my
They are individuals who
have توكل in all of their affairs, putting
their trust in Allah
بذل جهد في رضا الرحمن while at the
same time they put in the effort in
pleasing Ar-Rahman.
توكل, my brothers and my sisters, what does
it mean?
Have trust in Allah سبحانه وتعالى Right?
In simple terms, my brothers and my sisters,
placing your full reliance on Allah جل في
علاء while at the same time you take
the means.
For example now, استخار For those who have
read up on what استخار is, it's a
common question.
Right?
This is an important
part of it.
You know and I don't know.
So, Ya Allah, I'm leaving my affair in
your hands.
Ya Allah, deal with it.
I want a righteous wife.
No, I'm alright brothers and I'm not mean.
Right?
Before somebody cuts this out and and then
you hear about Abu Taymiyya being set on
fire.
Right?
I want a righteous wife, but Ya Allah,
I don't know where to turn to.
I've tried my utmost best.
You put your توكل while at the same
time you look.
We're not on haram apps.
Right way.
You go to these haram apps, you're gonna
find a haram lady.
And vice versa.
My sister, you go to these haram apps,
equal rights.
You go to these haram, you're gonna find
haram guys that want to do haram stuff.
Another term is Right, so
he has two pillars.
To rely fully on Allah.
Being truthful in that.
There's a difference my brothers, when somebody says,
Ya, I put my trust in Allah.
It's like a half-hearted reliance that he's
placing on Allah.
Or when he makes dua, Ya, I hope
Allah, you know.
No.
Call on to Allah Azawajal.
You have certain that Allah will respond back
to you.
To have that certainty when you make that
dua, my brothers and my sisters.
And when you place that reliance in Him.
So he has two pillars.
To place that reliance on Allah Azawajal.
While at the same time you look for
Take the means now, to go about it
now.
Two more lines of poetry and then we're
done.
The way they worship Allah Azawajal is a
way where Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is
present.
Right.
What is the hadith of the Prophet Sallallahu
Alaihi Wasallam As if you can see him.
And if you can't see him, then Allah
Azawajal can see you.
And this requires a lot of juhud, my
brothers and my sisters.
A lot of what?
Effort.
And then he says, They
advise the creation hoping for the reward of
Allah Azawajal.
And advising people is not easy a lot
of the time.
You are responded back with hostility and hate.
They do this with ilm, with knowledge.
You don't just advise people when you don't
have the knowledge of what you're advising them
on.
Or what direction you need to take them
in.
And what guidance you need to give them.
Bil ilm, wal irshad, wal ihsan.
You have to do it properly.
Allah loves when you do something, you do
it properly.
Right.
And then he says, They help the people
out physically.
Someone calls you, Brother, I need to move
furniture.
You can either respond in one of two
ways.
Ask yourself which one you fall under.
Number one, You get up and you go
and help him.
Because you are hoping for the reward.
In fact, the great and immense reward that
Allah Azawajal is holding in store for you.
Or you respond in the following way, This
guy only calls me when he needs me,
brother.
He only calls me when he needs me.
Right.
And it shouldn't be like that my brothers
and my sisters.
Thank Allah that he made you someone that
is able to acquire all of this reward.
Because they could have gone to someone else
and you would have missed out on all
of this.
You have the tools and you have the
ability to do something that others can't.
Hoping for the reward, their hearts are roaming
elsewhere.
Right.
Hoping for the reward of Allah Azawajal.
Right.
And you feel like people are just what,
taking advantage of your ability.
No my brothers, look at it in a
different way.
Shaykh Al-Islam Al-Taymi Al-Rahmatullah Alayhi
Salaam says,
Whoever wants to be from amongst the Al
-Abrar, the great pious people.
And he wants to imitate the
greatest of mankind.
Then
let him, everyday when the sun rises, let
him make an intention that, I'm going to
help the people.
And that which is going to please Allah
Azawajal, and it's going to be through my
hands that I'm able to help others.
Anyone here more busy than the Messenger ﷺ?
Who was a judge, a mufti, a family
man with many wives, he had children, right?
He was an army general.
Everything you can think of.
And at the same time, my brothers and
my sisters, a woman comes to him, وَكَانَ
And she had some psychological
issue, right?
And he says, I need your help.
He said to her,
mother of so and so,
Take me wherever you need to
take me.
Or wherever you need me to be.
So the Messenger ﷺ went from one place
to another until she finished whatever she needed
from him.
Or until the Messenger ﷺ fulfilled her need.
And the Messenger ﷺ told us, أَحَبُّ النَّاسِ
The most beloved people
to Allah Azza wa Jal are those who
are most beneficial for the people.
And the most beloved action to Allah Azza
wa Jal is happiness that you enter into
others.
He's going through some
hardship, you remove that from him.
He has a debt, you help that what?
Or you help him fulfill that.
Or he's hungry, you remove that, my brothers
and my sisters.
And it says,
That I accompany my brother
is more beloved to me than spending a
month in the masjid, يعني his masjid.
I stayed in Nabawi for a whole month.
And this is why Ibn Taymiyyah rahmatullahi alayhi,
my brothers and my sisters, took inspiration from
Ibn Al-Qayyim.
His students would say about him, كان يسعى
He would really
go out his way to help others.
Why?
لأنه يعلم because he knows.
Allah is in the aid of
his servant as long as he's aiding others.
You help others, know that Allah
is going to open doors for you.
Take that as a قاعدة, brothers.
Take that as what?
A principle.
Sometimes you're struggling, you really want something to
happen for you.
Go and help that old lady.
Right?
Carry her shopping first, see how you feel
right after that.
This is what Ibn Taymiyyah would do.
Sometimes he would just stop whatever he's doing,
because he couldn't understand a certain مسألة.
He found it difficult, he would go and
help others and then come back.
And Allah would open a door for him.
And he would also, my brothers and my
sisters, do that with his enemies.
One time Ibn Taymiyyah says, جئت يوماً I
came one time to Ibn Taymiyyah مبشراً له
To give him good news
that one of his greatest enemies had passed
away.
He was from among those
who were given the most trouble, the most
harm.
And then he was annoyed.
وَاسْتَرْجَعُ And he said, إِنَّا لِلَّهُ وَإِنَّا إِلَهِ
And then he got up very quickly
and he went to the family home.
And you know what he said?
Today I'm going to take
his place.
Anything you guys need, call me.
Right.
Anything you guys need, then call me.
The last line of poetry, my brothers and
my sisters.
Actually this too, he says,
He says,
Constantly holding yourself to account.
Reflecting and pondering on yourself.
And how you are worshipping Allah Azza wa
Jal.
And preventing anything that is going to what?
Be a barrier between you and that which
is going to bring down your Iman.
How can I improve?
How can I better this?
What can I do, my brothers and my
sisters, in making myself from the most excellent
to walk on the face of this earth?
Right.
Isn't this exactly how Umar ibn al-Khattab
radiallahu ta'ala anhu was, my brothers and
my sisters?
One day, my brothers and my sisters, a
man came to Umar ibn al-Khattab and
he was busy.
Huh?
And he was complaining this man.
So then he said to him, تَتْرُكُونَ الْخَلِيفَةِ
You leave the Khalifa, right, when he is
free.
But you only come to him when he
is busy.
So what did he do?
He took a belt and he lashed him
with it.
So the man he left, sad.
Right.
And then later on Umar ibn al-Khattab
radiallahu ta'ala realized what he had done
and then he called him.
Huh?
And he gave him that belt.
And he told him, hit me or whack
me or lash me the same way I
hit you.
The man refused.
I've left
my right for Allah.
And you can take my right.
Allah, He will deal with it.
Umar said, no, choose one.
Right, choose one.
He said, okay.
I've left it for Allah.
So Umar ibn al-Khattab radiallahu ta'ala
sat down and he began to cry.
He sat there so sad.
Right.
And then he said, subhanallah, these very profound
statements.
You were what?
So low but then Allah raised you.
You were misguided and Allah
guided you.
You were weak and Allah
gave you honor and strength.
Allah made you a khalifa of the Muslim.
Someone came to you seeking help after
being oppressed instead of helping your person.
What are
you going to say to your Lord tomorrow
when you meet Him?
So he sat there just holding himself to
account.
is him who said, my brothers and my
Hold yourself
to account before that day comes when you
are held to account.
We've oppressed someone, we've spoken about them in
a manner that is pleasing to Allah Azawajal
that will come a day when we have
to answer him.
He then says,
And we've spoken already
about this.
Emptying your heart from anything that is going
to busy you from Allah Azawajal.
Right?
Placing that barrier between you and that which
is going to cause your Iman to be
affected.
Or is going to stand between you and
getting closer to Allah Azawajal.
And then he says, every step that they
take, their thoughts, right, are all about Allah.
Everything is about Allah concerning them.
That's the top of their thoughts and on
the front of their minds.
Right?
Now you think, my brothers and my sisters,
when you wake up, what's the first thing
on your mind?
Cryptocurrency?
How I can make more money?
Or how can I get closer to Allah?
Islam is not against you making a living
for yourself.
لا But who's first?
Right?
Or is it everything else comes first and
when I got time, I go to Allah?
Or is it Allah is number one and
everything revolves around it?
And to conclude, my brothers and my sisters,
What excellent companionship this individual who
embarks on the path that take him to
all of this goodness.
Right?
This is what is waiting for you, that
companionship.
Allah says, whoever follows
Allah and His Messenger ﷺ, they will be
from amongst those or with those that Allah
Azzawajal has bestowed so much good upon.
From who?
The Nabiyeen, the Prophets, the truthful ones, Shuhada,
the martyrs and the righteous.
And what an excellent companionship to have.
I ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala on
this wonderful day to allow us to be
from amongst those who accompany all of those
that were mentioned in this verse.
Ya Allah, accept all of our
good deeds.
Our fast that we are doing on this
wonderful day.
Ya Allah, allow us to be from amongst
those whose sins are forgiven.
The past year and the future year.
My brothers and my sisters, this
was an 18 line poem that we just
finished.
I ask Allah Azawaj to add this on
our scale of good deeds and to make
us from those who apply these traits and
these characteristics.
Right?
Please my brothers and my sisters, we will
upload this on my channel.
In sha Allah wa ta'ala in a
manner that can be watched properly.
Try to take these notes.
And wallahi, you will see a change in
your life.
There was a lot that was mentioned.
I know you guys are tired.
Right?
That was close to 2 hours and maybe
what?
35 minutes that you guys sat here for.
Give yourself a tap on the back for
sacrificing the euros for today.
Right?
Sitting here in a masjid.
I'm going
to pardon myself from answering any question because
my family is waiting for me and she's
called me maybe what?
10 times.
Since we've been here.
