A very nice benefit my brothers and my
sisters that I had from Sheikh Abdul Razaq
Al Badr.
You know the hadith when the man came
up to the messian sallallahu alaihi wa sallam,
he said, you Rasoolallahi,
the obligations of the Sharia has become too
much for me. Give me a piece of
advice.
Was this companion trying to say that,
You Rasool Allah, please remove the salah.
Please take away fast. It is too difficult.
Was he trying to ask for a reduce
in his Ibadat?
The answer is no.
He was asking for something
that is going to
lighten the
difficulty that he has to go through when
doing certain Ibadat.
Because some certain Ibadat, my brothers and my
sisters can take can be very very exhausting.
Like hajj. I see this every single year.
The moment we come back from Araf and
Muzdalifa,
people are chaos.
Majority of the people,
they become sick of the hajj.
It takes a lot out of you physically.
Likewise,
17, 18 hours you're fasting. They can take
a lot out of you. But there are
things that make it easy for you.
They call Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
So he's saying to him, tell me something
that is going to make a lot of
these Iba that easy for me.
Keep your tongue moist of the remembrance of
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. And Allah azza wa
Jal told us this,
When doing istighfar, Allah azza wa jal will
give you strength above strength
for just saying,
This is a ibadah.
And yesterday, the lecturer I had
in Mark Asquba, he was talking about the
effects of sins. The opposite of zikr is
what Maasi, right?
And raflah
that weakens the body. I'm not talking about
physically. There's times where we feel so down,
right? And we don't know what it is.
Even though we've ate, mashallah, breakfast,
3 course meal, and then we had another
munch, and then we are full.
But we still feel so weak.
And it could be because of a sin
that we
committed. Malik Nadina
at the great Tabi
If you begin to feel that your heart
has become hard,
and your body has become weak,
and you begin to see that you've become
deprived in your provision, then know that you
have spoken about something that does not concern
you.
Also, one time you find the sheikhul, alayhisamatayim
After Fajr, he will sit down.
Till the midpoint
of the morning
between Duhr and Fajr, all the way to
the midpoint.
And Ibn Taym rhamallahu ta'ala came and sat
next to him.
And he didn't speak to him until he
finished.
So he said to
him, He turned to him.
This is my lunch.
This is my lunch brothers and sisters.
This is zikr that he was doing in
the morning.
If I don't have my lunch,
my strength and my power is going to
drop.
If you look at the Muslims of the
past, my brothers and my sisters,
thousands of them, they would be outnumbered by
the many hundreds of thousands of the kuffar
but they will still overcome them.
They had the strength.
They would be
constantly remembering Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
And also my brothers and my sisters, something
that you will find is
as the poet rahimullahu wa ta'ala he mentioned.
What the zikr also does is,
it occupies your mouth
from empty speech, constant nema.
Because if your mouth is busy,
can you be doing anything else with it?
Can you multitask with your tongue?
Some of us might be able to multitask.
Right?
We can type and speak on the phone
at the same time. We can work and
do different things,
but some people can't. But can you do
that with your tongue?
It's very difficult.
If anything, you can't.
So by you doing zikr, if you're somebody
who just constantly backbites, this is maybe a
cure for it and constantly just talks
rubbish all the time.
Occupy your mouth with thikar.
Try it for 40 days.
I'm not saying go, you know, out for
4 No. No. No. I'm saying just
Just constantly wash your mouth with it, and
wallahi your mouth will become used to it.
And also one of the benefits, whoever wants
to know about many benefits of dhikr, go
to the kitab al wabrul sahib
by Ibn alaym rahemullahu ta'ala.
One of the points that he also mentions
my brothers and my sisters, * Abdi that
One of the benefits that Ibn Uqaymah he
mentions is
that there's a narration because
if a person now remembers Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala at times
when he's not going through difficulty,
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will rush to
remembering him.
No. I think I don't think it's right
to say remember, right? Because remember means that
forgot and then he remembered.
And So Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will rush
to his aid
at the time when he's going through difficulty
because there's a narration as what Abu Nuqqai
mentions.
That the Abdul Mutiyyah,
the servant who is a
worshipper,
righteous individual.
When he's afflicted with a difficulty
and he starts remembering Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
and doing dhikr,
the malaiqa they say,
This
is
a voice of somebody who's very well known.
Because what does Allah azza wa jal do?
Those who make mention of Allah subhan'Allah is
always making mention of them to the malaika.
Right?
So the malaika every time, you know,
somebody makes zikr at the time when he's
not going through difficulty, the malaika, at the
time of difficulty, they will say, this is
a very well known voice.
As for the person who doesn't remember Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala,
doesn't make mention of him.
K? When he does, the malaiq, they
will
say,
The voice of the evil one,
ibn Abdul Munkar,
from a servant
who is monkar,
who is evil.
We'll have a,
10 minute break, and then we will commence
and finish off.
Okay.
We're going to continue.
Now
Now,
the poet he carries on by saying
They see closeness to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
doing the things that Allah
told him to do,
and staying away from the things that Allah
Azza Wa Jal told him to stay away
from.
The best of that which is going to
cause you to get closer to Allah as
well is to come with the obligatory acts.
That's the first thing.
And this is what the messenger salallahu alaihi
wa sallam in the hadith al Khusri wa
Allah ajawajiri speaks, he said,
There isn't anything
that the abdah servant does.
Him trying to see closeness to me by
doing
the obligatory acts.
More than doing the obligatory acts.
That is what's going to get you close
to Allah subhanahu through these obligate
reacts. So don't let the shaitan sometimes play
mind games with you. Let me do this,
and then you end up leaving the farayd.
If anything, you're just moving further away from
Allah azza wa jal.
Especially in the month of Ramadan, this happens
a lot. Right?
Throughout the night we pray
taraweeh,
and then we might go to sleep,
and then we end up missing Fajr and
Duhr.
If you have a bunch of benefits that
are clashing one another, you always have to
give what?
Precedence to
that which is most important. That's after
trying to do a jama, combining between both
issues.
So if your ibadah the awajib is going
to get affected by the sunnah, you have
to do something about it.
Because attending fajr and jama'ah,
being awake is more important than the nafila.
Likewise the door prayer, attending in jama'ah is
more important.
But if one is able to find ways
to combine hada ullah, especially in the month
of Ramadan.
Stands to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala with iman.
Iman which basically means
as we believes in reward of Allah, and
is also seeking His face
through that act. This person will have his
past sins forgiven.
Then the poet rahimullahu ta'alahe goes on to
say
Also from the way of the uliya, my
brothers and my sisters, those who are treading
the journey to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala in
the hereafter,
is that not only do they come with
the fara'id,
the acts of worship that is mandatory, that
is wajib, that is fard,
But they also come with what? The nawafil.
As I mentioned to you earlier,
when we spoke about the 10 things that
Ibn Taym, ramalallahu ta'ala, mentioned. What did he
say? One of the ways that a person
he attained the love of Allah as a
wajid is to come with what?
The nawafil.
So you come with the fara'id
and you also come
with the nawafil.
But it doesn't stop there.
This is something they do continuously.
While at the same time they see themselves
falling short,
and they also see that there is room
for improvement.
And that's very very important, guys.
That we don't become complacent. Mashallah Tabarakallah.
I managed to stand on every single night
of the last 10 nights of Ramadan. I
must have had Laylatul Qadr
and caught it. Laylatul Qadr I
can relax Badar Ramadan.
This shouldn't be the case
because we don't know if our acts of
good deeds has been accepted right, but rather
we hope that's been accepted
while at the same time we look for
ways
of maybe increasing and becoming
better in our Ibadat.
But rather what a person does my brothers
and my sisters,
he continues one good deed with another.
Because Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, what did he
say
Those who became guided,
they became increased in guidance
And they increased in taqwa.
Alaihisika Daliq.
You come with one good deed, my brothers
and my sisters, then you follow the up
with another good deed.
And this is what Ibn Al Taym, rhamalahu
ta'ala, he mentioned. In order to know
if your
has been accepted, like for example your month
of Ramadan.
It's a common question that the people after
the month of Ramadan they ask.
And also after hajj, a lot of people
tend to ask, how do I know if
my hajj or my umla was accepted?
It's a common question that I get.
Imrul Qaym rahemullahu ta'ala says,
From the signs of an accepted action
is that you look down to it.
You don't think much of it, you belittle
it. I didn't do much. I need to
keep doing more. Insha'Allah.
Until Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala hopefully will accept
it.
It's very very small in your heart.
Because the one who's intelligent my brothers and
my sisters,
what he does is
he asked Allah azzawajal for forgiveness after the
Ibad that he does. I'll give you guys
a couple of examples insha'Allah ta'ala very quickly.
Following up one good deed with another.
What is it that we do after the
salah?
This is the messenger salah alayhi wa sama
guys who doesn't have past sins nor does
he have future sins.
But he would follow-up one good deal with
another.
And you've just been standing in front of
Allah azza wa jal.
Your sins were being forgiven.
Insha'Allah ta'ala.
When a person he makes wudu, my brothers
and my sisters,
when he washes his face, what's happening?
Sins are falling off. You wash your hands,
your sins are falling off.
What does a person say after
He reads that dua then he entered into
whatever door he wants.
But what does he say after that?
Allahumajalli.
Oh Allah, make me from those who are
tawwabeen,
who constantly repent.
You've just come out of the wudu. You
was making wudu, the sins were falling off,
and still you're asking Allah, make me from
those who constantly make tawba.
Hey, after hajj. What does a person do
after hajj?
When a person he comes back from Hajj,
what did the messenger salallahu alaihi wa sallam
say? That he becomes
Whoever does Hajj and he doesn't fall into
fisk and obscenity, he comes back like a
newly born baby. You have no sins, clean
slate.
But what does he do after that?
After you finish your Hajj, what do you
say?
Even though you are
a newly born baby and you have a
clean slate.
Following up one good deed with another.
And
Whoever comes to know the wajib,
the right of his lord,
and also the size of his
and the deficiency of himself.
He will always find it befitting to ask
Allah Azzawajal for forgiveness.
I'll give you guys another example insha Allahu
ta'ala.
What do we say in the last 10
nights?
The dua.
Right? Aisha Radiallahu ta'ala Anah, she said,
If we just look closely at this hadith,
who is the one that is asking the
question?
It's Aisha radiAllahu ta'ala. She's saying, You Rasool
Allah. If I come to know when later
Qadr is,
would you advise me to say?
Aisha radhiyallahu, she is one of the greatest
companions, and I say companions because she was
even better than many of the male companions.
Are you with me my brothers and my
sisters?
He said,
ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to forgive you.
Commanded her to seek forgiveness
after working so hard
in the month of Ramadan, even more so
in the last 10 nights.
She's working more hard.
Why?
Because a smart and intelligent individual,
they work really really hard
when it comes to righteous deeds.
Then after that they don't see themselves having
accomplished anything.
They rush back to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
seeking his forgiveness.
The same way as the sinner.
If somebody committed a sinner,
if he or she is a smart intelligent
individual, what's he gonna do?
He's gonna do Toba. Right?
He's saying the way of the awliya
is that after they've worked so hard
in worshiping Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and coming
with good deeds, they go and sit and
they beg Allah for forgiveness. The same way
the sinner would beg Allah Azza wa jay
for forgiveness.
You see my brothers and my sisters, we're
dealing with a whole different reality now.
This is Darajat.
This is a lofty position that a person
now is heading towards. Asayru Illallahu Wa Ta'ala
lakhra.
Taking the journey to Allah azza wa Jal
in the Hereafter.
Then he goes on to say,
They made the nufus the sole patient.
Upon the things that they dislike,
all types of things that is going to
bring them problems.
All of these because they yearn
for that which is with Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala.
Because my brothers and my sisters, there's things
that we might find really really difficult to
do.
And there's a lot of temptations that we
have around us.
Messenger salallahu alaihi wasalam told us
The Jannah has been surrounded
with Maqari.
Things that are going to trap us.
And it might be things my brothers and
sisters that we really really want to do.
If girlfriends was allowed,
would there be anybody here who didn't have
a girlfriend?
Let's be honest of ourselves.
One day Moroccan, one day Turkish, one day
English, one day, Russian one day,
But
you find that the temptations surround what? The
jannah.
And one has to go over it and
hold himself together,
control himself from these temptations.
The Ibadah that require
sabr.
The asian,
the filth and the evil that surround us
that pull the heart requires ilasabr.
When you pray my brothers and my sisters,
requires
sabr. Being there for our parents requires a
lot of sabr.
When going through the trials and tribulations, it
requires what?
Sabr,
patience.
If one wants to reach a very lofty
position, he would have to come with the
straight.
And like I said to you guys, my
brothers and my sisters yesterday,
Al-'ilm
itself
requires a lot of sabr.
100 of people attend
habirat. People love attending the khutbah because only
what? 20 minutes he wants the iman booster,
battery charge.
And then the iman is gonna go back
down again.
This is why, like I mentioned to you
guys yesterday, when I heard Sheikh Salim al
Rahidi said,
The is difficult,
and those who are patient are only a
few. And those who become scholars are only
a minority within a minority.
And in order for you
to build this patient level,
you would have to study quite extensively.
The more you become fearful of Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala through what you've studied, and this
is a.
It causes a person to have more control
over himself.
And that's what also puts away what? The
doubts. Right? This is why Sheikh Alissenteen, Muhammadu
Alaihi said,
with patience and also certainty.
Because the patience stops you from the temptation
and the
The certainty,
what does it prevent?
The doubts. You're certain about your religion. Nobody
can sway you. You will reach imama, becoming
