Abu Taymiyyah – Part 3 How To Really Drop in The Eyes of The People

How does one drop in the eyes of

the people

and reach a very humiliating

position in his life.

My brothers and my sisters,

every single individual wants to remain respected

and honored

and be held in high esteem

with the creation.

And I'm sure none of us would disagree.

But why is it, my brothers and my

sisters, that sometimes

we were so

we were glorified.

We were held in such high esteem.

We were respected.

But then all of a sudden we dropped.

People started looking at us in a completely

different light.

Instead of us my brothers and my sisters

blaming everyone except ourselves,

it's maybe to start pointing the finger

at ourselves.

Ibn al Juzar

he mentions something so powerful,

something that is very very dear to my

heart my brothers and my sisters.

He says

I saw some people who ascribe themselves back

to knowledge.

They began to

not be conscious of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala

washing them, when they were alone, when they

were by themselves.

So

what did Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala do?

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala caused the good things

that is mentioned about them in public

to disappear.

It is as if they were there

and also absent at the same time

There was no sweetness

in wanting to see them

And the heart stopped yearning

to meet them

SubhanAllah

What did he say my brothers and my

sisters?

He said,

They started becoming people who

Began to be unconscious of Allah Azzawajal, watching

them when they were alone.

Sometimes when we speak about the sin that

a person commits,

when alone the first thing that pops our

minds is things like *,

watching films that has filth

and evil inside of it.

But is that the only thing my brothers

and my sisters?

Sometimes you might find yourself in a gathering,

the doors are closed, it's only you and

somebody else,

and you begin to rip into the honours

of others,

you begin to speak about them, you violate

their sanctity,

their honor,

their hulma.

And just remember my brothers and my sisters,

The doors might be closed,

but it's Allah

the one who sees every single thing

and hears every single thing that is mentioned

that is

directly still watching you

And he's going to deal with you the

way you deserve to be dealt with.

So when all of a sudden things start

going wrong,

should it really surprise

you? It is maybe because of that sin

that you committed.

Look what Ibrahim also

mentions.

There's never a time when I go through

agony,

when I go through some difficulty,

some distress,

except because of a sin that I committed.

So much so that I can actually say

that

it is because of that sin that I

committed.

And perhaps

I begin to make excuses for myself,

and come with

that which is very far fetched.

And then all of a sudden I begin

to see the Uqbah.

I begin to see the punishment.

But my brothers and my sisters,

if you hold yourself to account

and you apologize by humbling yourself,

Things insha'Allah

will start becoming much much better

and I will conclude by saying what Ibn

Qaym said.

Faalaqadari

Mahabbatil

Abdilillahi

Azzawajal you hidbuhnas

In accordance

to how much you love Allah Azzawajal.

And it's just not me claiming that I

love Allah Azzawajal, I have to come with

the action. Actions speak louder than words.

That's how much the people will love you.

And then he said,

And in accordance to

how much you fear Allah Azzawajal.

The shaitan is whispering,

but you choose Allah Azzawajal.

In accordance to your fear, this is how

much the people will be

fearing you as well. That's how much they

will be in awe of you.

And in accordance to how much you glorify

Allah Azzawajal,

you highly respect his commandments

and this my brothers and my sisters, it

will be in accordance to

how

the creation

hold you up.

Isn't Allah

going to aid us?

Having good thoughts of Allah

and assuming the best my brothers and my

sisters,

is one of the ways to really

get what you're looking for.
