of the life of Abu Bakr as Sadiq
who was the greatest of the companions of
Allah's messenger, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam.
And it is a fierce lecture in the
series of lectures which will take place every
Saturday
in this month of August
on the lives of the Khalifa Rashidim, beginning
with Abu Bakr, then Umar Osman and Ali.
Obviously, we will not be able to cover
the whole life
of these great
men that accompany the messenger of Abbas,
but hopefully, we will be able to
touch upon some aspects of their lives that
we can reflect upon and act upon
ourselves and implement in our way the way
that we deal with people and the way
that we live our lives.
Just a few things on behalf of the
masjid.
There are some refreshments

So when the lecture has finished,
you
are free to

eat them and drink them, inshallah.
So don't be shy. And secondly,
for the remaining lectures and even today's lecture,
try your best to advertise it and encourage

that they can learn about these great men
so that they can
act upon the way that they followed Allah
Without talking too much, I'm gonna,
pass it on to my brother,

And I would recommend all the brothers to

seek knowledge so that we are surrounding the

Brother and sisters, as an honest to our
brother,
the lecture will be about Abu Bakr radiAllahu
anhu.
May Allah
be pleased with him. May Allah
have mercy upon Abu Bakr radiAllahu anhu.
You know brothers and sisters,
as most of us are trying to do,
we are trying to follow the way of
the salat as most of us might claim.
And when we say salat, who do we
intend we intend by it, we intend by
it, the 3 golden generations.
Those the prophet said,
The best generation is my generation. I'm speaking
to the companions.
And then those that came after them, the
Tabi'ayn, and those that came after them, the
Tabi'ayn,
These great men, the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam,
told us about
are people that we need to try day
and night
to try and make our beliefs,
and also our actions, our sayings,
the statements that comes out of our mouth,
our ethics, our manners. It needs to be
in
a calling to be a person upon the
sunnah,
or claiming to be a person of hadith,
or claiming to be a person who follows
a salif,
but then your beliefs,
your actions,
and also your statements, and your manners, and
etiquettes is not in accordance to the
way of Abu Bakr radiAllahu anhu, brother Nuhata,
Rasman Ali.
That this is just a name
like any other name.
These are just names
that the people have maybe stuck
and used as banners.
The Ibra, as the scholars say like the
Ibra is putting it into practice.
We can call ourselves all these names and
get very excited and rejoice about it.
But if our actions, our beliefs, our statements,
and made our that which is missing a
lot of time, our manners and etiquettes.
It's not in the same way as them.
Then brothers and sisters,
we are not following the blueprint that the
prophet put
down.
The blueprint
of the Sahar al Nwalihi
Those who live with the prophet
They made matters very clear to us.
Hence, why the prophet sallallahu alaihi is when
he talked about
the 736 that most of us are aware.
And he said that 72 are in the
fire. Only one of them will go into
paradise.
He said,
that which I am upon today and my
companions.
The companions were mentioned.
The companions were specifically pointed out.
They carried the religion from the prophet
They heard it. They narrated it. They acted
upon it. And then they passed it down.
So if we want to be part of
that,
part of those who are mentioned in that
verse, in Surat the Tawbah, when Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala says,
Those who proceeded from the Muhajiri,
those who made hijrah, and the ansa, those
went to Madina.
And then there's a third
has been mentioned.
Those who followed them, upon goodness,
RadiAllahu
Wa'anhu Baruwan.
Salafiya and Hadith, alusunna.
But all the time, you find it's just
a claim.
Rather, the most important thing is that your
actions and what you do is an opponents
to the sahaba,
your etiquettes, your manners.
Sometimes people complain, okay, these people they claim
to be from the sunnah.
Yeah. When they are dealing with the people,
they have the best and worst of manners.
This is not the way of the Sahaba.
This is not Salafiya.
This is not al Hadith. This is not
sunnah.
Rather, you accept that you take all these
aspects
wholeheartedly.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala tells us, All you
believe, enter into the religion wholeheartedly.
So InshaAllah Ta'ala, I just wanted to make
that clear.
Brothers and sisters, Abubakar radiAllahu Anhu, you
know one thing I want to point out
is
how in this day and age we find
that
we have given so much concern to so
many other things.
And that our kids,
our nephews,
our nieces,
those around us,
we have become so busy with other matters
that we have forgotten to teach them the
basis of our religion, not to put anyone
down. We need to understand, brothers and sisters.
And yesterday, I gave a lecture in Halifax
pertaining the household.
The upbringing that we need to give a
lot of importance to.
This upbringing,
this responsibility that Allah has placed on our
necks for our children
is something that we cannot take almighty.
The reason for this is why because the
prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said,
Every single one of you is
like a shepherd.
And every single one of you is
going to be held responsible for his flock.
The prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam also told
us,
Never did Allah
place a responsibility
on anyone's neck.
The day when he dies, he dies as
a person who is deceived.
How is this?
It comes in another narration.
He didn't advise him accordingly.
Except Allah will make the jannah haram upon
him.
You know, it's one of the best feelings.
You know, when a person has a child,
a boy or a girl, it's one of
the best feelings that a father can ever
experience.
And you find that most people have children.
They will testify to this,
and they won't deny it.
When we get married, when we have these
children, it's a big responsibility. Now it's a
great feeling. It's a blessed thing. But at
the same time, we need to understand, brothers
and sisters, a big responsibility comes with it.
Our kids today, you ask them about the
Liverpool team or the Barcelona team, Real Madrid.
They are able to tell us from the
goalkeeper all the way to the
individual who's playing as a striker.
Even those on the substitute bench and the
guy that's injured as well.
The names, we can mention it. We have
it memorized. The surname, what position he plays,
the age he is. We have these names
on point.
But when it comes now to the Ashar
Abdul Mubashireen, those who have been given the
khidings of ajannah10,
It's just one less than
a football team. Football team is 11 aside
right. That's only 10.
Why is it that
we don't tend to have these names memorized,
carved in stone?
Is because maybe we have forgotten
to teach our kids
and to make it young aware that this
is an important matter in our religion.

The prophet
told us about.

ideas that talk about kedid.

It's
something that takes of Allah

another hadith, Sahih Muslim, the prophet

we should instead be teaching them stories like
royalty
and undying service to his master.
Muhammad ibn al Khattab's love for justice and
tolerance.
With Farid Nafan's level of shyness and modesty,
Aileen Nabi Talib radiAllahu anhu's show of courage
and bravery.
Desire of combating evil.
To love and respect to her father.

These pious
lives of these sahabas

memorize it.
Have it on point.
And maybe even stick it on your wall
so that you remember them all the time.
And each one of them try to study
their lives.
And believe in the light, to hide your
life, on how to be as a person,
we need proof.
What was the reason as to why he

The truthful

You find that his name, Siddiq,

from the Quran and Sunnah.

May Allah be pleased with him. His grace
are happy.
And it reached the point, brothers and sisters,
where even the prophet
also became confused.
And you know this man, mister
Abu Bakr. His only source of income was
who? Abu Bakr.
When he paid Israel to ad Medina, he
didn't have a housing benefits or allowance
or child tax credit today that we have.
His only source of income was
Abu
Bakr used to spend on him. He used
to give him money.
When he came to know that his cousin
spread this,
Abu Bakr radiAllahu anhu, he didn't go and
stop him. For someone who said something about
Ipaz's wife, the guy is gonna get angry.
He was gonna get turned. It's a problem.
It's a fiery issue.
Abu Bakr radiAllahu anhu held himself.

saw, I am not going to help this
person again.
A verse came
down in Surat An Nur where Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala says,
Don't let those who have been given much
virtue
That they stopped
the goodness that they used to give those
of
the and
those who are poor.
Allah is addressing Abu Bakr radiAllahu anhu. You
are those people who we have given much
virtue
and grace.
Do not be from those who refrain now
from giving to those who are poor from
the
Mujahed. Forgive and forget. Turn the page.
And this is the way of the believer.
When a ayah comes to you, when a
hadith comes to you, we listen and we
obey.
We don't know how, why, where, no, my
heart. It doesn't you know?
And there are those who ask if this
is the way to believe.
So straightaway, Abu Bakr radiAllahu anhu,
he put everything on the back of his
mind.
You know, if someone done that to our
wives or to our daughters,
the day when he comes in front of
us and he gives us salam,
we will struggle to look him in the
eye.
We will even struggle to shake his hand
due to the grave sin that he done.
Not only did Abu Bakr carry on,
you know, being good to him, but he
carried on giving him money.
Let alone us doing that
in that kind of situations.
He carried on spending money, carried on giving
you income.
The prophet sent me to a mommy
that
had changed with them.
I asked the prophet, who are the most
beloved
of people to you?
The prophet replied back and he said, Aisha.
So he said,
from the men

came to the different expeditions?
His jihad, his courage.
Jihad will be
safe
The jihad that he performed. And I'm not
trying to encourage anyone to go and join

refrained from giving anyone's right

Not in the time of the prophet sallallahu
alaihi wa sallam's life, nor after his death.

with after the death of

who differentiates between the salat and the zakat.
So indeed, the zakat
is the right of the wealth that needs
to be given
to the
poor.
Wallahi
says, if any of them now
refrain
from giving me something that they used to
give the prophet
I will fight
them. From the fact that they stopped giving
it.
I came to know that Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala.
