Respected brothers and sisters,
Today, we are presenting
special episode
of this program,
with
Sheikh Ustad,
Imam
Abu
Taimiyah.
Pleasure to have you here.
Studio. Very short notice, but,
glad that you were able to give us
some time.
Sheikh lives in Leicester, and, he's towards,
down south these days, and he's going completely
south to the Brighton,
Alhamdulillah.
I'm a bit,
you can say, satisfied that you are going
in winter.
If you are going in summer, then I
would have been a bit concerned.
Has a huge following
in the youth.
Sheikh has a beautiful recitation of Quran,
as well as reminders
and short messages and so on, as well
as long lectures and.
You guys would know more about Sheikh,
than myself.
So I would start program requesting Sheikh to
recite
just to clarify, this was a different rewire.
Yes. I was going to clarify that also,
but it's better if you can clarify,
because some people might be thinking that sheikh
made a mistake
there. It should be Rahmani, not Rahmani.
Send down these different variations and modes
are reciting the Quran as a rahma upon
the people to make it easy for them.
And the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam will recite
in different ways, and this is one of
them.
Yeah. So, I mean, we have done
a program before on,
different 7, 10 ways,
of recitation of Quran.
7 of those are.
So this is one of
different recitation.
And it is important to keep these recitations
going,
and, awareness of it.
Last time also, we presented
in different recitations. So
which rewrite this word? This is this is
called Khalaf Al Hamza. Khalaf Al Hamza.
Well, I'm so sheikh. I I I tend
to be a bit of a freelancer. I
go to all of the different Masjid. Masjid.
I don't just stick to 1 Masjid. Right.
Right.
There are masjid that I pray in, and
there are masjid that I give lectures and.
So it it it tends to vary,
where I do the programs. I try not
to stay in one place, you know.
All homes and lives in the world. Organization
and Anyway, Sheikh.
Anywhere to give power. Totally independent. Yes, Shaikh.
We Fantastic, Shaikh. We wanna call everyone to
the deen of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. Mashaikh.
Which is correct.
So we're open to go anyway,
May Allah
bless you.
I mean, you came on just few hours
notice, I would say, with less than 24
hours notice.
You were at my friend's house yesterday. Yeah.
They really looked after us. May Allah bless
them.
And that's how we go in touch.
But,
maybe sometime,
when there is Foursa,
we'll organize proper program here. Definitely. We can
have audience also here, Inshallah. But in Ramadan,
there's, a lot of flesh.
In fact, we are in last 10 days
of Ramadan
and,
blessed day of Jumuah.
So
today, our youth,
especially, they take everything very lightly.
So
for them, what is the important message,
from this 10 days of Ramadan, how they
should make use of it,
and how they should avoid unnecessary things in
this.
Then of
course, you know, we find ourselves in this,
situation that we're in last couple of nights.
How can we,
really take advantage, take maximum, optimum reward. So
when we talk about the roots of the
problem, the reason why we might not necessarily,
take these days, seriously
or have that veneration
of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala's commandments
and his request
is simply because
our knowledge of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
has almost diminished over time.
Right?
When you think about it now, when you
come to know about a certain individual and
he has all of these wonderful characteristics and
traits, it tends to
cause you to love this individual even more.
Right? Because Masha'alai prays at night, he fast
in the day, say Masha'alatubaark
Allah, Allahumabarik,
and he brings that love in your heart
towards that individual.
Not that I'm trying to compare a human
being to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala,
But the more we learn about Allah Azza
Wa Jal, right, his own the only source
of knowledge we have of Allah Azza Wa
Jal is his names and attributes. So when
we come to learn about Allah
the more we do, the more this increases
the veneration in our hearts,
towards Allahu Jalafi'u'llah. The more we glorify Allahu
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, and this is of course,
the Tawhid of Allahu Jalafi'u'llah.
Right? When we learn about the names of
Al Razaq, for example,
it's very very hard when you come to
know about this name of Allah Azza wa
Jal and the attribute that it carries that
Allah Azza wa Jal is the ultimate provider,
right? And that he, Allah Azza wa Jal,
has been providing for us and he will
continue to provide for us and look after
us, it's very hard to go and consume
Haram.
Right? Likewise when you come to learn about
the name of Allah Azzawajalal Hakim that he's
all wise, when things start happening in our
lives,
we will not be asking this question, why
is Allah making me go through this? Because
everything happens
based on Allah Azza wa Jal's divine wisdom.
Everything happens for reason. Right? How many a
time have we found ourselves in a situation
where we thought that that this was actually
really bad for us? But later on we
said to ourselves, SubhanAllah,
if that didn't happen I wouldn't have this
today, right? In fact, Allah was actually holding
back some evil that may have harmed us
really badly.
So the point of the matter is the
more we learn about Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala,
the more we will glorify him, the more
we will have veneration towards Allah as there
were just commandments and his instructions.
And the thing is that he's telling us
to stay away from. Right? So this is
now the root of the problem as to
why we might not necessarily take,
that which Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is telling
us,
seriously.
Right? So we learn about Allahu Jalafi'a'ula.
This is a long term commitment that every
single one of us should have.
As for the situation at hand,
Sheikh,
my advice to the youth would be and
I was mentioning today in the Khutba,
these are the greatest nights of the year,
right?
Oh, you who has maybe wasted his life
doing absolutely nothing, doing that which is unbeneficial.
He says,
Right? Try to
catch up on that which you have missed
out your whole life through the nights of
Al Qadr. Right?
What you are able to acquire in these
nights is that which, you know, cannot can
be cannot be compared to anything. Right?
You know, it is equivalent to your whole
lifespan of what you can do throughout your
whole lifespan. You might be able to get
that in these,
remaining nights that we have right before us.
Wallahi Al Aalim Shaikh, you know,
we don't know if we're going to be
able to get out of this studio. Right?
Nothing is guaranteed.
Allah,
right, has set our time for us, and
it could be at any moment.
Today, I was mentioning the Khutba that,
approximately a week ago, Sheikh, I was on
my way to,
Manchester.
I had some programs over there,
and we missed this accident that took place
on the m 6
by just a bit of time SubhanAllah, I've
never ever seen and I've been going up
and down the country for the last 10
years, a helicopter on a British motorway
came to pick up one of the casualties.
Right? And 4 cars that collided with one
another, and that could have been us. Right?
How many people were sitting with us around
the Iftari table last year that are not
with us this year? Right? And we have
this opportunity, and we're not taking advantage of
that. Right, Ibniljuk? In fact, I mean, I'll
give very fresh example.
On 6th February Salama. I was supposed to
be in Syria
in Jindari's area Uh-huh. 6th February.
And just a few weeks before,
this arrangement was done, booking was done accordingly.
But then my program changed,
and I was gonna go from Bangladesh to,
Turkey, Istanbul, and from there to Gaziantep, and
from Gaziantep into Jindarius area
for the for the
foundation, basically, of a new village that we
were constructing.
But, SubhanAllah, suddenly my plan changed, and I
was going to Saudi Arabia first from 6
till 9th.
And then,
basically, after that was gonna go to, Turkey.
Had I been on 6th February, in Geuniriz,
that was epicenter of the earthquake.
Okay. That's Sheikh.
Look at that.
So many people we know Sheikh have lost
their lives, and they're just wishing as Ibn
al Josi mentioned Sheikh.
If the people who have passed away were
told to make a wish, they would wish
for another day in the month of Ramadan.
All the opportunities that Allah gives us.
That friend of yours or brother
and sister who is listening,
who's trying to take you away from the
Masjid or trying to take you away from
Khair, he's not your friend. Yes. Even if
you look at the root letters of how
you say friend in Arabic, it's sadeek,
sad, dal and qaf. Right? Which means the
one who is truthful. Right? Your friend is
the one who's truthful with you, who tells
you what you need to hear, not the
one who takes you away from that which
is most beneficial for you. Right? Why we
have wonderful opportunity now,
even if you feel like that you have
missed out,
there's still the opportunity
for you to be forgiven by Allah Azza
wa Jal to flip your life around. Ibrahim
Joseph mentioned
something very very interesting. He says,
When the horse reaches the end of the
race, it exerts all of its efforts
in order to win that race. Likewise, when
you have a 100 meter
or 200 meter sprinter, when they get to
the end, Sheikh, what do they do? And
they exert the effort. They tries to win
the race. I remember a couple of years
ago, and he was going around. The video
was going viral. And I mentioned in the
Khutba
where, there was 2 people having a race,
a 100 meter race.
1 of them was actually losing. However, when
he reached or when he got to the
end, he actually dived
to get over the line, and he won
the race. SubhanAllah.
He was on the BBC, and he was
going around,
and Iqbal
Don't let the horse be more smarter than
you, because the horse exerts everything right at
the end. We are the end of the
race now.
If you didn't do well
welcoming the month of Ramadan, perhaps you will
do better bidding it farewell.
People are asking all the time, Sheikh, I
feel like I did not do much in
the beginning.
Can Allah still forgive me? People said it
was related to Qadr yesterday, and I woke
up, missed my prayers at night. Is there
still an opportunity for me? You don't know.
It could be that Allah forgives you and
gives you everything that you need in the
last hour, as Imam al Hassan al Basir
Rahmatullahi a'lay mentioned. Yeah.
I mean, nowadays, I see, to be honest,
lots of youth
that are hardly fasting.
Yeah. You know?
It makes me cry
that, you know,
they they are young. They are not at
the age of 50 or they they are
not on medication.
They are not travelling,
or even if they are travelling, they are
in one location, they are not moving around
or they don't have flight and so on.
But
forget those who are
resident but travelers, but even those who are
in their own hometown,
they would not fast.
And these are the people, masha'Allah, who are
technical,
who are very social, well connected,
and have access to basically all type of
lectures and so on, masha'Allah.
How could we basically encourage them? How could
we Yeah.
You know, Sheikh,
a lot of the time, we might look
at the month of Ramadan as a burden.
I have to fast 15 hours. It's long.
I have to refrain from food, drink, and
what I love to do, sexual * and
so on and so forth.
Yes, we know subhanAllah
that this month is actually an institution,
Samadrasa.
It's like a boot camp, an induction period.
Right?
As Allah Azzawajal said, all you who believe.
Allah as the Wajid is trying to train
you in order for you to become a
much better person. Right? I know, and I'm
sure the viewers know as well, that the
kind of lifestyles that we've lived before the
month of Ramadan, it has caused us to
be spiritually dead and empty. Especially Sheikh with
the emergence of social media, just being on
the phone all the time has made people
very very empty. Right? And Allah subhanahu wa'ala
doesn't want that for you.
Allah wants to forgive you. However, the people
of desires, they want you to go far
far astray.
Right? So Allah wants you to acquire that
Taqwa where you are conscious of Allah
and you are in awe of him, you
have that fear of Allahu Jala firola. So
when we stay away from food, drink and
sexual *, it's not just that, but what
we're being taught is self discipline
and rather it's a lot more than that
as Jabir ibn Abdillah radiAllahu ta'ala Anhu mentioned
Sheikh.
When
you do fast, then make sure your ears
are fasting. Make sure your eyes are fasting.
Make sure your tongue is fasting from all
sorts of sins. When individual does that, would
you agree, Sheikh, that this individual now will
become from the best of the people? It
becomes from the oliya because a lot of
the sins that we fall into that is
killing us spiritually, that is putting us in
a very very dark place stems off from
these body parts.
Right? So my brother and my sister who
thinks that they're being deprived
or that they're being burdened with the month
of Ramadan, Allah Azza wa Jal actually wants
you to become
so much more better, to be in a
position where you become so spiritually content
and you have this fulfillment in your heart,
which is something that money can't buy. We
have so many multimillionaires.
I engage with them at times. People who
are so famous, They have followings,
right? They are verified on social media platforms,
and they're messaging me extremely depressed and sad.
And it's not rocket science, Sheikh, to understand
why this is actually happening to them. They've
become so distant from what Allah told them
to do. Allah is calling us to Maghfirah.
He's telling us to do what
he,
has, you know, put the success in, which
is to do what he told us to
do so that we can be satisfied,
have that, you know, spiritual nourishment
and content. And like I said, this is
not something that money can buy. Right? And
it's the answer that we're looking for. They
know this.
Yes.
And,
I mean, there are obviously so many benefits,
of fasting,
health wise, spiritual wise, and so on, this
and that. But one thing I just want
to say, remember one thing.
We always try to avoid something
that we may regret later on.
So if we have opportunity, if we know
that tomorrow we might regret or after 10
years or 20 years, then it's best to
avoid that.
This is something
that every single
elderly person
regrets
what they did in their you time.
You know? They regret of not making most
out of
youth time. Mentions
that one of those things that you need
to take care of before other thing comes
is,
is your youth age before old age comes.
So
all,
youth age is like golden age,
you know, and you do little at that
time, you will be rewarded a lot more.
Sheikh,
one question comes from youth quite a lot.
Yeah. That,
I don't pray.
I don't fuss, but I don't hurt anyone.
I'm a charitable person.
You know? Not charitable, but kind person. I'm
nice to everyone. Say hello. Hi. I help
wherever I can.
I don't hurt anybody,
but,
so am I a bad person?
By the end of the day, you know,
it's Allah,
who will hold every single one of us
to account.
He the Almighty Creator
has put down a constitution,
Telling us what we should do and what
we should stay away from, right? Who determines
what is bad and what is good is
none other than Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
Right? So if Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is
telling us
to do x y and z, and that's
what's going to make you successful. For example,
when he said
indeed the believers, right, have been successful.
Those who have the Khushuah and the salah.
Allah is teaching us what causes you to
be successful.
Right? And he tells us what causes Allah
now to turn away
from. Right? When he said,
whoever turns away from my remembrance, I'm going
to give him a depressive life. So here
Allah is what he is telling us, what's
going to bring about negativity in your life.
Likewise, he tells us in the Quran,
Surah
Whoever from the male and the female believers
do good deeds, they will be given that
good
life. Right? And we are told that if
you do x y and z, then you're
going to have this punishment. And if you
do this and that, you will get this
reward. So it's Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala who
determines
what is right and what is wrong and
what is considered a good person and what
is not. Right? And he's mentioned that to
us clearly and explicitly.
So even individual now is not,
carrying out the prayer.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, he told us in
the Quran,
These individuals,
right, they will be given a punishment in
the hereafter,
Right? So of course, if Allah is saying
that this person will be punished for it,
then in the eyes of Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala, this is not something that, you know,
is pleasing to Him. Right? So,
you have to do what Allah told us
to do,
and that's what makes us
good, and that's what makes us successful.
Coming back to the point of 10 days,
obviously, when we go for a meal,
we have a starter and different items in
a starter, and then we have main course,
and we have,
dessert at the end. And then after that,
we have some sweet and,
sorry, tea, coffee, or refreshment and so on.
And at the end, we have, this plate
that comes in with chocolate, and we give
tip on that.
So,
we don't stick to just we don't jump
on chicken or meat and then finish the
you know?
So when it comes to Ramadan, why we
stick to only fasting and taravi?
What variety should we have?
There is this act of worship that is
not mentioned in Afshah.
Right?
And I think it will be very, very
beneficial to mention.
And Ibn Nur Hajjib, SubhanAllah, he mentions his
benefit under the dua that the messenger salallahu
alayhi wa sama taught Aisha radiAllahu ta'ala Anha.
Allahumminaka'afoo
and tohibul Afua Farfani. Right?
He says Al Afua Min Ismaila,
he says Afua is from the names of
Allah
It is Allah
that overlooks
the shortcomings of His servants, and it is
He who erases
the remains and the traces
of their sins. And then Nukul he says
Allah Azzawajal loves to pardon
And he loves for his service to forgive
and pardon one another. Look what he says
now. And here comes the catch.
Once they pardon and forgive one another that's
when Allah Azzawajal is going to forgive them.
We're going to be begging Allah, you Allah
forgive me. You Allah have this sin. You
Allah help me. But then we are not
ready to go and forgive others.
Right? We have to treat the people the
same way we like to be treated. This
is not just a nursery rhyme that they
taught us when we were in nursery. Right?
What goes around comes around, treat the people
the same way you like to be treated.
The messenger told us that he said,
have mercy upon the people and Allah will
have mercy upon you. Forgive and pardon them,
Allah will forgive you. Ibraham Nukaym says,
Indeed, there are privacies that is just between
you and Allah that nobody knows about. If
you want Allah to forgive them, be someone
who's ready to forgive others. Why am I
not speaking to my brother? Why am I
not speaking to my sister, our siblings?
How many of them do we actually kafsheikh
over the most pettiest of things?
I some when I saw each of you.
I know many things to mention because I
hear her all the time. You have Mohammed
who has a brother called Abdullah. Mohammed stopped
speaking to Abdullah.
Why? Because Abdullah's daughter, when she
was asked for a hand in marriage,
Mohammed wasn't the first one to know. He
was maybe number 3 Sheikh or number 4
to know, but because he was the number
1,
he cuts off his brother. Why wasn't I
the first person that he told?
Over the most pettiest things we cut people
off, we don't speak to them, and then
we want Allah to forgive us. Right? As
the messenger sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said,
the best of the 2 is the one
who starts with the salam. People always ask
Sheikh, how can I soften up my heart?
How can I feel better, right, spiritually? This
is one of them, pick, make that call,
pick up that phone, right,
and,
and forgive and forget,
See how you feel almost instantly.
As soon as you put that phone down,
you will feel that huge burden being uplifted
from you.
Right? You will feel so good, SubhanAllah.
And it's from the things that really suffers
up the heart. Right? And Allah will only
increase you
You know, the is that, you know, that
people want. He's someone who's really easy going,
humbles himself.
Yes.
Very valid point that because
we think of other acts of Ibadat during
Ramadan, but we tend to forget about
forgiving and being forgiven.
Very valid point.
Other area where there is some weakness,
is education.
You know, Ramadan is a good time to
educate yourself.
Of course, education is for throughout the year,
but Ramadan is more of a reason for
that. Just like the law of and recitation
is for throughout the year, but Ramadan is
specifically,
more crucial for that. So, Jazak,
on education,
any words of encouragement in English? You know,
I always encourage the brothers and the sisters,
because, you know, the of Ramadan is the
month of Quran. Shao Ramadan and the Unzil
Reh feel Quran.
Many feet many many brothers and sisters, they
feel disconnected in the Tarawih prayer. They want
to hear the and understand it, but because
they don't understand the Arabic language,
you know, they feel as if they're missing
out. Of course, the advice would be to
learn the Arabic language.
It is from your religion as Umar Al
Khattab
would say. However, in the time being, I
always tell them to buy the tafsir of
Ibn Kathir, which has been translated in English.
Mhmm. Right? It's been translated very well. Me,
I don't like reading English books, Sheikh. I
really don't. There's one English book that I
bought and we have it at home
and honestly, I've I've really really enjoyed reading
it. It's called Tafsir ibn Kathir, it's been
abridged,
in fact by, I think, an Indian,
scholar,
and it's very nicely written, nothing like old
fashioned English.
It is the sweetest 150
or £60 that you will spend.
The youth I know today, you know, are
spending
£200,
£300 on,
on Balenciaga shoes, you know. Yes. £150,
will change
your life, you know, for the better. Just
reading up the tafsir of Fatiha.
I I told one YouTuber,
I suggest you buy this. That night, he
was sending me nonstop messages. I read this
benefit. I loved it. Wolei helped me. It
was like this.
You know, very nicely written, very easily, you
know, you can understand it. So it's called
Tafsir Ibn Kathir, and perhaps I can help
you understand what the imam is saying.
Yeah.
Ramadan obviously is not for Ramadan only. Yes.
It's for the rest of the year. Yeah.
Now as we're coming towards end of Ramadan,
we need to prepare ourselves
for
next 11 months, if not next entire life.
So
as soon as Ramadan ends,
in fact,
when moon is moon is sighted and next
morning is,
Eid,
that night is.
Right? That is the night of reward,
and that is the night of Ibadah also.
Yes. But we
you know, license to kill. Wallahi, Sheikh, subhanAllah.
I've been around the country.
You have roads, for example, in Birmingham called
Lady Poole Road. I don't know if you
heard of it, Sheikh. I have office there.
Name. You have South Hall Broadway in London?
Yes. You also have Edgware Road. And in
Manchester, they have something called Wilmsley Road. Wilms,
Lord.
You know, as soon as the,
as the sun sets,
right, it is as if you can see
that shayateen have been released, the devils have
been released with the way that people start
behaving.
Right?
He would come out on this on this
night, and he would call out.
Is there anyone whose Ramadan has been accepted
so we can congratulate
it? And is there someone who's been deprived
so we can pay our condolences there? You
know when someone passes away, Sheikh, we go
to the family, we pay our condolences. Right?
Alib Nabi Talbi wants to pay his condolences
to the one who has maybe ruined his
Ramadan. What does he mean by it? Like
the night before the day of Eid, instead
of being thankful to Allah, instead of showing
gratitude, instead of, you know, being someone who
worship
Allah being obedient to him, we let we
literally Sheikh, we let loose.
We let loose, we go crazy, we start
doing things that are displeasing to Allah. When
you advise our brother, he says to you,
brother,
24 hours let me enjoy myself.
Allah didn't say you can't enjoy yourself. You're
allowed to enjoy yourself.
There are days of, you know,
making yourself happy and eating. I think in
Urdu Shek, they say
where you make your stomach happy. We eat,
you know, we enjoy ourselves in the day
of Eid, but in a manner that is
pleasing to Allah. And I'll just add this
as Oshak, you know.
Every single Eid Sheikh, I hear about someone
who died with alcohol in his mouth.
Every Eid or he was blasting music in
his car, and that's how he passed away.
That was the last thing that came out
of his mouth, or he was in a
room with the opposite gender.
They were doing things and then that's the
last thing that came,
that's the last thing that he done or
he walked out of the club after having,
you know,
every year, Sheikh, I hear something like that
on the day of Eid. Yes. You know,
unfortunately.
And what we love to do, that's how
we're very likely going to die.
Yes. Yeah. And some some youth, basically, they
hire a sports car,
for 8 day. Yeah.
And, not because girls. Mhmm. To pick up
girls on the sports. Right. Yes. Not not
for themselves or their family,
but to impress others, to impress their girlfriends
or like that, and to take them out.
And every year, we hear not 1 or
2, but a number of accidents
on each day.
You know? SubhanAllah. You know?
If that is our approach,
then there could be no better reward than
that.
Yeah. You know? Allah gives you the reward
that you deserve.
So may Allah protect all of us. May
Allah give life to everyone.
But,
you know, it's important that we avoid those
things and safeguard ourselves.
You know, everyone knows that
the death with kalima,
right, on your tongue is the best death.
The death, basically, when you have your loved
ones around you is,
you know, most peaceful way to to to
die or or you are basically in masjid
or in part of Allah
or you are
for Hajar Umrah or in Fisabirullah.
You know, one of those those things are
something to be proud of.
