My dear respect to you brothers and sisters.
The month of Ramadan
has
just
departed.
And perhaps some of us have gone back
to their ways from before the month of
Ramadan.
Allah
threw us the lifeline.
He threw us the opportunity
to better ourselves.
He gave us another chance
on top of the many chances that he
has been given us
throughout our lifetimes.
Many people did not reach the month of
Ramadan,
And I believe I said this
in the lecture that I gave in this
masjid
in the month of Ramadan.
When we ate Iftar
this year in the month of Ramadan,
perhaps there were those
who sat with us the previous Ramadan that
were missing this time around.
We found gaps around the ifdali table.
Only Allah
knows best as to whether
we will have another Ramadan.
With the way
the world is developing,
with a lot of the
problems that we are seeing,
the wars that are taking place,
when you have another opportunity,
only Allah
knows best.
This is why my beloved brothers and sisters,
ibn al Jawzir Ahmad Tullahi alayhi, he would
say,
who ended the month of Ramadan in the
best possible way.
Do not change
after the month of Ramadan
in the month of Shawwal.
Month of Shawwal is the month that comes
after the month of Ramadan.
The month that we are currently in.
We
all that hard work that we put in
the month of Ramadan
is destroyed because of
how we conduct ourselves
after the month of Ramadan.
And this is a very very important nuqtah,
a very very important point.
All of that hard work may possibly become
like halal and thura,
like scattered particles.
Is it it is easy to tear down
the building than to build it.
Monday's message was built, my beloved brothers and
sisters,
We all, I'm sure, are aware
how long the construction took
and even the expansion.
How long it takes,
right, takes a very long time to build
and to expand
and to be bigger.
However, if I was to bring a crane
in front of the biscuit,
in order to tear it down, it would
take what?
Within even hour or 2,
it will be tearing down to the ground.
And this is exactly
the way we should be looking
at the hard work that we put in
in the month of
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, he told us in
the Quran,
Do not be like that woman.
There is a woman that was mentioned to
us in the Quran, in Surat Al Nah.
What was so special or different about this
woman?
The scholars of tafsir, they mentioned
that this woman that is mentioned in Surat
Al Nahal,
she was a woman who lost her mind.
She was a woman who lost her mind.
She even came to the prophet salallahu alaihi
wa sallam
and requested from him
to make dua for her
so that she can gain her sanity.
She would knit and keep
knitting throughout the whole day,
and she would instruct
her,
the young female workers that she knits as
well. They would be knitting, knitting, knitting, knitting
throughout the whole day.
And then at the end of the day,
she would tell
them, halaf, let's untie everything that we've done.
Khattadik Muhammadu Sallusir Ahmadallahi alayhi was from the
great
early scholars of Tafsir
from the Tabi'in.
You know what he said?
If you were to come across a woman
after hearing about this woman that is mentioned
on the Quran
who would do the exact same thing, you
would say,
how stupid is this woman?
He says, this is an example that Allah
brought in the Quran.
An example
of someone who breaks the covenant,
who breaks the contract between him and Allah
My beloved brothers and sisters, we all know
what is right and what is wrong.
In the month of Ramadan, it may have
been that we would say to our kids,
don't switch on the TV. It's the month
of Ramadan.
Don't listen to music. It's the month of
Ramadan.
And then as soon as Ramadan departs,
it might well be that we gather a
family
and we start watching series,
One of the riyyah.
Why is it that we stayed away from
all of the filth and the evil in
the month of Ramadan, and then as soon
as the month of Ramadan finished, we went
back to our ways.
What's the objective of the month of Ramadan
for us to enjoy it? Anil Khalas, go
back to our ways after the month of
Ramadan. Lao Allahi.
It is the lifeline that Allah
threw
towards us
so that we can rid ourselves from evil
habits
and then introduce good ones.
The month of Ramadan is a madrasah.
It's an institution.
You can maybe even call it an annual
boot camp.
Or maybe with an induction period. When you
go to work, it's an induction period. The
first 2 weeks or the first 4 weeks,
you train so that you are able to
become
a worker who does the work accordingly.
This is exactly what the month of Ramadan
is for.
For us to introduce good habits and to
rid ourselves of evil ones so that we
continue this after the month of Ramadan.
And
if death comes on to us for us,
alhamdulillah.
We passed our training,
our induction,
we graduated from that annual boot camp
in the best possible way, and we can
meet Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala as better.
So whatever we did, it's not gonna stop.
What did the messenger
say to Abdullah ibn
Oh, Abdullah.
Don't be like so and so
who used to pray at night,
and then he ended up leaving it.
Again, the tarawih that we prayed
that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala only wants us
to pray the night prayer in the month
of Ramadan.
One of the first acts that is abandoned
after the month of Ramadan
is the night prayer.
Taraweeh was there to train us to become
from the most
closest service to Allah azza wa jal. And
this is what the night prayer does for
you.
Don't think that Allah azza wa jal is
missing out.
We are the ones that are missing out
if we stop praying at night.
You know the famous hadith of the Rav
Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam?
When He told us about some of the
benefits of the night prayer.
Upon you
is to pray at night.
What does it do?
It removes the sins that you might be
suffering from.
And it gets you closer to Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala. And it removes any physical or
spiritual sicknesses.
And then if you look at the end
of Surat Quran,
where Allah
gives us the traits of
Those who stand up at night praying to
him is from the traits of
the the righteous, the close servants of Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
Allah
wants us to become from them.
This is why
we are encouraged to do so many righteous
acts in the month of Ramadan.
And you know what's even worse and all
of that?
Doing righteous, good deeds is jayid
and we continue after that.
It is the evil that we engage in
after the month of Ramadan,
which is extremely, extremely sad
and hard to deal with the lie,
hard to accept.
There are 2 kinds of people.
You have the type of individual who
just stays away from sinning in the month
of Ramadan. However,
he's telling himself,
as soon as Eid kicks in, then I'm
going to do x y zed. Whatever he
was doing beforehand.
And then you have the type of individual
who wants to use the month of Ramadan
as a pedestal to become better.
And then after a month of Ramadan, he
falls short.
The first
is in a more worse situation. 2nd,
the month of Ramadan, my brothers and my
sisters, we worshiped Allah.
The scholars, they always bring this example of
Abu Bakr
when he stood on the mimbar after
passed away.
What did he say on the
Muhammad.
Whoever used to worship Muhammad
indeed, Muhammad
has passed away.
Allah
lives forever.
Right?
Does not leave or depart.
He remains alive.
So if we were worshiping
Ramadan, my brothers and my sisters,
then Ramadan has finished.
The lord of Ramadan that we worshiped in
the month of Ramadan is the same lord
that we should still be worshiping after the
month of Ramadan.
Karim Numatic,
He
said,
We
were
fasting in the month of Ramadan. He was
telling himself
that as soon as the month of Ramadan
finishes, I'm going to disobey Allah.
The first thing will be rejected in his
face.
All that hard work will be rejected in
that individual face.
SubhanAllah.
And that is because of that mentality that
individual has, you know what? I'm going to
go back to my ways.
Prophet
used to seek refuge,
and and Allah
has
delivered
from
what?
Oh, Allah,
I seek refuge in you
from a slip that undoes everything,
that undoes all of my hard work.
Is it maybe a dua that we can
be repeating time and time again?
Right?
All of the hard work that we put
in, Mahinda becoming what? Hagah and Manzura scattered
particles
because of us not understanding the whole objective
of the month of Ramadan.
SubhanAllah,
not realizing as to whether we will have
this opportunity again.
Inshallah ta'ala in the next part of the
Khutbah, I want to speak about some of
the signs that when accepted from
Allah.
A very common question that people tend to
ask
all the time after the month of Ramadan
and also after Hajj,
how do I know as to whether
this
good deed that I just carried out is
either accepted or rejected.
The scholars, they mentioned some signs,
and we mentioned,
insha Allah, these 3 of them.
The first sign that they mentioned, my beloved
brothers and sisters,
and you find that the salat, they would
be
doing this excessively
For a full 6 months after the month
of Ramadan,
they would ask for what?
Allah
accept
from us our ramalah.
Asking
Allah to accept from them
all of the hard work.
What tends to happen from time to time,
my beloved brothers and sisters, when we are
given the success to do a righteous act,
which we all have been engaging in in
the month of Ramadan, especially in the last
10 nights,
it causes us to become affected
by the horror, to become deceived,
to become individuals who are complacent.
I stood up on every single night of
the last 10 nights of Ramadan,
and I must be safe now for another
year.
The question is, how do we know as
to whether that was accepted from us?
As Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala mentions,
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
only accepts from those who have a tawaf.
Umrul al Khattab radiAllahu ta'ala Anhu, when he
would recite this verse he would cry.
He would cry.
He says only Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala accept
from the muttaqeen.
If I knew that Allah accepted
one
from me,
one frustration,
I would have wished to maybe depart from
this world.
May Allah
accept our good deeds. Amen.
From the signs
of the should I say, the righteous servants
of Allah Azza wa Jal? As Imam al
Sirni
that they structure their path to Allah as
the wajam between 2
traits,
a rajam and hope.
Hope and fear. And this is how we
should worship Allah
Hoping that our deeds are accepted while at
the same time
we have that fear that it might
be rejected from us.
Example that I normally tend to give is
someone who's late to catch a flight.
He has that fiyaq and
he's going to miss it while at the
same time he has that hope that he
can get through security.
Right?
This is the kind of attitude
that we should have with regards to our
Aqsa, Wasiqa.
These are the most righteous who walked on
the face of this earth. For a full
6 months, he's begging Allah, You Allah, to
tap Al Mana. Oh, Allah accept it
from
us. Right?
And then the other remaining 6 months, that
Bayin
Malaha allowed us to reach the month of
Ramadan
because they knew
one
saying subhanallah once as Ibrahim Al Naha, I
mentioned.
In the month of Ramadan,
It is better than a 1,000 tismiha outside
the month of Ramadan.
One rakah in the month of Ramadan is
better than a 1,000
outside the month of Ramadan.
Fasting one day in the month of Ramadan
is better than a 1,000 outside the month
of Ramadan. As Ibrahim Al Nasay, Rahmatullah, ari
mentioned.
There's a verse
that made Sheikh Mirza, Rahmatullah, Alayhi, cry.
And every time he read it, he would
cry.
It is the
best
and sort of Taqarah.
Who was the one that was instructed to
build the Kaaba? Ibrahim alaihisatt with some rent.
Sahih.
Was anyone else instructed
from the prophets?
Amal al Mahsous.
This was a special act
that he was commanded to carry out.
Under the blazing heat, in the middle of
nowhere,
such a great act that he was carried
asked to carry out
And he you probably think someone like this
may
become deceived and feel extremely
special for being asked to
carry this out.
Sahih.
And then he's asking Allah azza wa ji
Allah accept this from us.
Oh Allah accept this act from us of
building the Kaaba.
Shabun Bazar would cry would cry would cry
when he came across this verse.
That is the first sign, my beloved brothers
and sisters.
The second sign is
begging Allah
for forgiveness.
After having carried out the righteous deeds.
The dua
that most of us have memorized,
that the messenger
told Aisha
She asked him, if I come to know
when later is,
would you advise me to say, oh messenger
of
Allah?
When you read this and understand this point
that Ibn Rajiv is making,
you will come to know the pinnacle of
the awliya, the saints, the close servants of
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. So it's the only
reason why he asked that to seek forgiveness
on these special nights, even though she's been
working so hard.
Look who is speaking to Aisha,
Radhiya Muhammadu al Anha. She's worked so hard
in the first twenty.
And then even then, he's what? Telling her,
seek forgiveness.
After working so hard.
Why?
Because the smart and intelligent individuals,
they work extremely hard,
then they don't see themselves having accomplished much.
They see that there is room for improvement.
They see that they could do more.
For young
journalists,
they rush back to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
I ask every single one of you, my
beloved brothers and sisters, a smart sinner,
after having committed zina, what does he do?
He cries his eyes out, he begs Allah
for giving us rights.
He's saying that these are the traits
of the uliyah, the righteous beloved close service
of Allah
For example, now you carried out so many
good deeds in the month of Ramadan.
You sit alone begging Allah
Allah forgive you.
The same way the smart siddha does.
SubhanAllah, did we ever look at it like
this?
Or has some of us maybe become deceived
by our righteous deeds? Or maybe even worse
than that we've gone back to our bad
ways.
As you know, the 7
dimension. On the traits of the,
they do the righteous
of bigotry acts and the superrogatory voluntary acts,
while at the same time, they see themselves
falling short.
That's what keeps them humble,
and that they could do better and more.
And the last line that I'm going to
mention my beloved brothers and sisters,
as Imran Tullahi
mentions
from the signs
of an accepted action is
Not seeing much of your good deeds,
seeing that you could do more.
But then what did he say?
A smart and intelligent individual,
he follows up one good deed with another.
And this is the third point.
If you think about
a lot of the things that the muslim
salallahu alaihi wa sallam used to do, and
here, ibn A'yid mentions a couple of examples
when following one good deer up with another.
After the salah, what do we say my
beloved brothers and sisters?
This is the Messenger of Allah
who didn't have
any any sins.
His past
and future sins were forgiven,
and still he would wear himself out.
Aisha
she would say to him, why are you
doing this to yourself, You Rasulullah?
Shall I not be a thankful slave?
He would throw on one good deal with
another, and he didn't have any sins.
And from the greatest
acts of worship that you could follow-up one
deed with is saying
straight after
it. Even after a what is it that
we say? Right?
Allah make me from those who constantly repent
back to you and those who are pure.
Right?
Repentance
after doing the acts of.
Right? Likewise, Hajj. You come back like a
newly born baby.
Sahib.
After going for Hajj,
Even then Allah
commanded
the people of the Hajj, after coming back
like a newly formed baby
to ask him forgiveness,
following up one good deed with another.
And after a month of Ramadan,
what is the legislative act of worship?
6 days of Shawwal. Right?
Imran
Alayhi,
he says there's Sirun Latif.
There is a very, very nice secret to
this.
These 6
days of fasting, my beloved brothers and sisters,
is there to make up for some of
our shortcomings
in the fastings that we carried out in
the month of Ramadan.
Because we are bound to fall short.
We are bound
to slip up,
and we are always in need of that
which is going to amend
some of our shortcomings.
Right?
And here, there's another opportunity that Allah sends
our way, and that is to pass these
6 days
in the month of Shawwal.
And they even say this about zakatul fitr.
SubhanAllah,
zakatul fitr is there to amend
the shortcomings that we may have accomplished.
Allah
wants us to meet him, and we've done
things properly.
Our acts of worship are more completed than
we may have thought.
May Allah
give us all the
