The first point that we're going to be
covering in this series, my beloved brothers and
sisters,
in how one can work towards softening up
his heart,
is
Tati'iurAllahiAlaqulliShayin
Walaamalu Salihah.
Is prioritising
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala over everything and doing
righteous deeds.
My brothers and my sisters, are you feeling
down? Are you feeling depressed?
Do you feel in a state of agony?
Do you feel like your heart
has become so, so heavy?
Then please listen up to what I'm about
to say under this first point.
Ibn Uqeem Rahmatullahi
says:
Whoever wants a pure, clean heart,
then let him always put Allah
first,
let him place Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
before his whims and desires.
Says no, have knowledge
about
anyone
who loves
anything for other than the sake of Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala,
then it is only a matter of time
that he is left hurt
by that which he
has loved and prioritised
over Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala.
These two statements are extremely, extremely profound.
At times, you may find yourself in a
predicament,
where your loved ones are inviting you to
that which is displeasing to Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala.
And you are between
doing what Allah has told you to do
and what His Messenger
has instructed you
and your friends
inviting you to that which
is going to please them.
My beloved brothers and sisters,
I will not sit here and talk as
if this is an easy thing
to do.
To just turn away from the Haram that
they're inviting you
might not necessarily be easy,
but nothing comes easy in life.
If we want to be able
to reach
the highest stations in the sights of Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala,
then we must make a sacrifice,
as it is not
worth giving up our hereafter
for a short enjoyment.
Who will have the last laugh?
Those who were patient,
those
who felt imprisoned in this dunya,
as the Messenger SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam told us.
A dunya
Sijun al Mu'min or Jannatul Kaffir. This dunya
is the prison of the Breivah.
Wajahnatul Kafir
and the paradise of the disbeliever.
Imranatayim Rahmatullahi a'layhi mentions,
Ajma
kulluqalayilumma.
He says,
all the people of intellect have unanimously agreed.
All the people of intellect have unanimously agreed
and he's not just speaking about the Muslims
here. He's speaking about anyone who has intellect.
That you cannot
attain
superiority and success
except by
enduring and experiencing hardship,
There are challenges on the way.
There are obstacles that one has to navigate
around.
You will not be able to attain success
except by
going through some sort of difficulty,
and the Jannah that we all crave will
not come about
lightly.
The bliss that we are craving for, the
Jannah that we want will not come easy.
And this, my brothers and my sisters, is
a principle in all aspects of life, in
whatever you might be doing, whether it's sports,
whether it's work, whether it is
creating a successful business, there are times that
you have to be, what,
disciplined,
enduring
and taking in that hardship,
overcoming it and then perhaps you will be
successful.
Likewise, when it comes to knowledge, it is
exactly the same as all. So in going
back to the point that we were making,
we want to attain Al Jannah,
and we have all of these different obstacles,
our family members,
friends,
people that are very close to our hearts,
inviting us to Haram.
But my brothers and my sisters, I tell
you,
this favourite Hadith of mine
has worked wonders for many.
When the Prophet
said:
You never leave something for the sake of
Allah Azawajal, except that Allah Azawajal will give
you that which is better.
Now listen to what Ibn Uqayim Rahmatullahi Alaihi
has to say.
He says, the heart will never feel
success.
It will never become rectified.
It will never feel that bliss.
It will never
glow
and it will never taste that sweetness. It
will never be
content.
It will never feel at peace
except
by worshipping Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
and loving Allah
What does that entail when we say we
love Allah Azza wa Jal?' It means that
we prioritize Allah Azza wa Jal over everything,
Wali Nabateelay and returning back to Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala.
Ibnutaymi his teacher,
The heart will never
experience happiness
and it also will not endure
the ultimate sweetness,
except
by loving Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
And seeking closeness to Allah
By doing the things that Allah Subhana Wa
Ta'la loves
And you will not be able to love
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
the way you should, except by turning away
from all the other things
that
one may desire
from His whims.
And He says that this is the reality
of
Waheemillatuibrahimal Khaleel, Waheemillatuibrahimal
Khaleel
Alaihi Wasallam
and indeed this is what Ibrahim Alaihi Sallahu
Alaihi Wasallam called to.
And the opposite has been mentioned to us
as all. Ibn al Taym Rahmatullahi alayhi says,
He says the sins
and also corruption,
it causes one to feel agony, to feel
distressed.
Khawfia,
hudna, sadness,
wadiqa sadr, and also
experiencing a tightness
in
one's
chest.
And also sicknesses of the heart.
And it says there's no cure for it
except
by one returning back to Allah Subhana Wa
Ta'la in repentance.
Now my beloved brothers and sisters, is it
really surprising that we have
so many,
and I'll say this with quote in quote
out,
successful people in the public eye that are
going through
so much depression.
Some even go as far as committing suicide.
They speak about their sadnesses
and the stress that they are experiencing,
the depression
that they are going through,
the medicine
and the tablets that they are on,
may Allah protect
us from that.
Is it really, really surprising that they are
really
suffering?
These very well known YouTubers
are suffering mentally,
suffering from all sorts of illnesses
and
sicknesses of the heart.
When Allah Azzawajal clearly told us what the
solution to all of this is, when He
told us in Surat
Nahl Whoever from the male and female,
they fulfil these two conditions.
They come with Iman,
faith,
and they also do righteous
deeds. These are the people that we are
going
to give a happy and joyful life.
And Allah tells us
also in the
Quran
Whoever turns away from My remembrance, then indeed
I will give him that depressed life.
And on Yom Al Qiyama,
he will be resurrected
while he is blind.
The proof is in the pudding, my beloved
brothers and sisters.
We just need to open the Quran
and reflect,
and as this Quran
is, recite to them stories of the Quran
so that they may contemplate and reflect.
And to conclude this first point, my beloved
brothers and sisters,
I would like to mention the statement
of Ibn Marqayim Rahmatullah when he said:
He said: When an individual now becomes sick,
he only became sick because
he did the things that would cause
his health to deteriorate,
which I think everybody would agree. Maybe he
wasn't eating properly,
maybe he didn't cover himself properly when going
outside,
he didn't come with the means that protects
his health.
And then he says: likewise
the heart.
It doesn't become sick except when his iman
goes down,
and that is because he comes with
that which
destroys his heart, sickens his heart
and leaves him with an empty heart.
May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala give us all
Tawfiq.
Assalamu
Alaikum. We at the Knowledge College have managed
to revolutionize
the way Islamic Studies is taught in the
West Alhamdulillah
You see before the knowledge college you'd have
to find a teacher which is a hard
enough task as it is And if you
found that teacher
you'd have to hope that he would actually
finish the book that he was teaching
which again was not very likely
But now, Alhamdulillah,
you can study and seek knowledge from the
comfort of your own home and you're not
just watching videos
that have been pre recorded but you're actually
being taught live where you can actually engage
with your teachers
and with your fellow students in the communities
that we've built for you guys online.
If you'd be interested in seeking knowledge and
taking your religion to the next level, then

We've got over a 1000 students that have
joined us over the last year and a
half. They've hugely benefited and we hope that
you would be one of the next students
