Abu Taymiyyah – Ep 12 The Conclusion How To Soften Your Heart Series

My beloved brothers and sisters, I would like

to conclude with this:

When a person can't find a deep sense

of meaning,

they distract themselves with pleasure.

If you look around today,

the sad reality is

that all of these worldly pleasures

have distracted the minds of many

from that which is a reality.

Just ask yourself the question,

why is the wine and alcohol industry a

$1,000,000,000

industry?

Why is the game industry a $1,000,000,000 industry?

Why is the sports industry

a $1,000,000,000 industry?

Why is the

* industry a $1,000,000,000

industry?

Why is the drug industry

a $1,000,000,000 industry?

So much so that cocaine

is known as

Britain's open

secret. Why is that, my beloved brothers and

sisters?

All of these different things that we mentioned,

these different industries,

have distracted the minds of the people from

the reality that they're facing.

They are looking for that which

fills that void,

that which

gives them

that spiritual

satisfaction and contentment,

and that's something that money can't buy.

I remember having a conversation

with a relative that is not Muslim.

What is it that you do in your

free time?

Her response was,

I have to occupy my mind by watching

Netflix movies, and if I don't,

it might lead me to Junun, to craziness.

All of these different things that people occupy

themselves with

is that which

occupies the mind and distracts you from what

you really, really need in your life,

and that is Allah Subh'anaHu Wa Ta'la.

The way your heart has been created,

it's been created in a way that it

craves for its creator.

That's all you need in order to taste

that spiritual contentment that every single one of

us is craving for.

May Allah Subhana Wa Ta'la allow us

to act upon this. Allah Subhana Wa Ta'la

tells in the Quran, giving us the solution

to all of these problems that we are

facing.

And Amir As Salihan mindikrin

auntha

wahuamu'minun

falanuhayyahnaohayat

and tayiba,

Whoever from the male and female they come

with Iman and also they do righteous deeds,

Allah Subhana Wa Ta'la will give them that

happier life that they are looking for.

And the opposite is also mentioned.

Whoever turns away from Remembrance,

he will live a depressed life.
