Abu Bakr Zoud – The 8 Conditions Of Hijab

Dear sister in Islam, may Allah

grant you goodness and success.

My dear sister, you should know that Al

Hijab is beyond a headscarf.

Al Hijab

is more than just covering the hair of

the head. It is 8 things. Number 1,

the dress should cover the entire body from

top to bottom with the exception of the

hands and the face. Number 2,

it must be loose, so that it does

not expose the size and the shape of

the body and the limbs. Number 3,

it should be thick enough to cover and

to conceal the colour of your skin.

Number 4, it should not be a dress

of xena, adornment,

in and of itself.

So if clothing is decorated with multiple colors

and,

patterns and stars and whatever it is that

brings attention in the eyes of people, you

should keep away from that. Rather, it should

be simple, and there is no problem if

the dress was completely black, or olive color,

or blue, or whatever it is. No issue

in that. Number 5, it should not be

perfumed.

Number 6, it should not resemble or imitate

the clothing of men. So no shirt and

pants and so on. Number 7, it should

not resemble or imitate

clothing and a dress that is specific to

the disbelieving woman.

And number 8, it should not be

address of fame.

So you do not dress

here with the intention of showing off and

standing out among the crowd, rather

address that is simple

that fits into the community

and culture of Muslims

that you live among Allahu Alam.

I ask Allah

to keep you all guided and steadfast

upon

Al Hijab that Allah

and his messenger

is pleased with. May Allah accept from you

all.
