My dear
friends.
The topic I'm
going to speak about today is an important topic because it relates
to both this world and it relates to the hereafter, I want to make
sure that I'm going to speak about this in a way that
I'm trying to express all of our need for this topic.
I'm not going to speak about this in some kind of self righteous way
that I don't need this. And I'm telling you that you must do this.
When I speak about it, I'm speaking about it. Because I need
this for myself. We all need it. And we've all got a long way to
go. In this regard.
So let me start from this.
The topic was what?
reviving a dead heart.
Now in almost immune, if you look at that, from a cardiological
perspective, or a biological perspective, it's like Some,
somebody's nearly dead, they're being kept alive by a machine.
How do you revive that heart?
You know, you start pumping the heart as they do, you start giving
them you try to resuscitate them. That's kind of how it sounds, you
know, somebody who has absolutely no idea about a spiritual aspect
of the heart, and they're looking at a heart as a biological organ
that just pumps blood around the body. So why would you need to
Revive Our Hearts, you only revive a heart if it's dead. Or if it's
got a small amount of life left just about hanging on to a string.
So the topic that I want to speak about here is about the spiritual
heart.
They say that the spiritual heart is basically separate to the
physical hearts. But it's not definable in a sense of what it
looks like. The reason is that you have a heart transplant, you're
generally the same kind of person still.
You still pray, you still do things, and you still do the same
thing, anything. And it's the spiritual heart, which really,
really matters. The biological heart, of course, matters, because
without it, the blood is not going to circulate, get to the areas of
the body that it is required. But a similar example here, when a
person whose heart his biological heart is pretty much dead or needs
resuscitation, it means that they don't really have much that they
can do with their body. They think they just can't do much there,
they're silent, they're maybe in a coma, or whatever it may be. Now,
if we were able to gauge our spiritual heart in a very similar
fashion, then we'd know that, that that is a similar kind of thing.
Some of us may be many of us may be just hanging on to a string in
terms of our spirituality. We just Muslim. We know we're believers,
we still believe in our hearts. But there's nothing to show for
our belief. Same kind of thing with the body and the physical
hearts.
So emotional pain, Rahimullah, one of the great scholars, who was in
Damascus, he mentioned a number of signs for a diseased heart, some a
heart to the disease. Now, when you got the physical heart with
the disease, it means that the person get generally gets out of
breath. Maybe he needs a pacemaker. Maybe he needs to have
a surgery done. But generally speaking, they're told not to put
too much pressure on the heart. They're told to make sure that
take it easy, and so on. So there's certain things because
they have a diseased hearts, arteries are clogged up, there's
issues maybe there's a hole in the heart, whatever the case is, if
you take that same kind of idea for the spiritual heart, then
these are the signs of a spiritual heart. A person may be working out
everyday for his physical hearts, extremely healthy, totally lean,
no problem whatsoever. You put
ECG on, he's got no issues whatsoever. But from a spiritual
perspective, let's look at how that fears because that is what's
going to matter in the hereafter. At the end of the day if the
physical heart malfunctions, the worst that could come about from
that is that we leave this world that we get into our grave, and
we've departed from this world. The problem with the diseased
hearts, being this diseased, and diseased and problematic is that
we don't stand a chance in the hereafter. So the worst part of
losing a physical heart is that you lose this world, which is the
dunya the clothes world, the lowly world, but if we don't have a
kanban Saleem
yo Mala and Pharaoh Omalu wala balloon Ilam and Attila Habib,
Calvin Salim that that is the day on which no wealth, no children,
nothing is going to come to your benefit, except the one who comes
with a sound heart. So that sound heart needs to be made. So just as
you see people going to the gym and looking after their heart,
making sure they eat the right kind of foods, and so on and so
forth. There's certain things that we need to do when it comes to our
spiritual hearts as well. So if no claim, Rahim Allah, the first
thing that he mentions, is the first sign of a diseased heart.
You know, there's different levels of disease, as we know, you know,
cholesterol starts rising, you have to take statins, and then
after he gets worse, and then you've got a clogged artery. So
there's different levels of this. He says one of the sciences, if
you generally have a preference over, if you generally have a
preference for this temporary transient world over the
hereafter,
then that's already a beginning sign of a disease heart.
So we like the dunya more than we like the Akira. So our focus is
developing our dunya is developing our dunya to make it inhabited
more and at the desolation of our arciero now you have some people
who mashallah they focused on their dunya in the sense that they
have a huge company. They have mashallah big empire to deal with.
They are very successful in the dunya but they are also in the
masjid. They are also helping the poor. They are also doing their
Hajj they are also doing the fasting, they are also praying
Tahajjud prayer at night and they do not miss prayers. Recently I
had an opportunity just last month to visit India south of India,
where the famous Sudan depo used to be in may soon. And we went to
you know, we went to his palace and his place where he's buried
etc. Sri Lanka but night's call and it's quite amazing that we saw
his we visited his Jamia Masjid the one that Jamia Masjid have
made sure that he built during his time. Now, during that occasion he
was a very wealthy man is a very, very wealthy man. I mean his his
palace is called Daria Daulat bath. So you have a lake there
called the Daria donut means wealth. And Bob is this beautiful
orchard and gardens that surround it.
Very wealthy man, very brave man. When he built his Jamia Masjid
This is a very famous story. When he built his Jamia masjid and it
was the inauguration program of this masjid, you had the greatest
of the 50s and the shapes and the orlimar and the scholars all there
in attendance, and who's going to lead the first prayer. So he made
an announcement. He said that the person who from the time of his
blue from the time that he's become an adult and mature 1314 15
years of age, who's never missed his sunnah, prayers of awesome.
The four records of sunnah before us in prayer. Whoever hasn't
missed those gets to lead the first prayer here. None of the
scholars nobody from that whole group of people in attendance was
moved forward. Eventually with tears in his eyes, he moves
forward and he says, I didn't want the secret to come out. But today
I have to I have since the time of my maturity I've never missed the
Sunnah of Assam. So none of us are not Ussery Jana, are we talking
about a Sunnah prayer of our son that he hasn't missed from the
time of his blue. So you do have people like this who have the
dunya as well as the Ophira the truly blessed people that have the
focus of the Akira have the focus of the earlier Rahim Allah. So he
led the first prayer.
That is the first sign that we give preference and majority of us
are probably like this that we give preference to the dunya I
mean, the first thing like if you've got a special errand to run
or something gets busy in our lifestyle and if you live in
London, you're generally going to be busy anyway. The people up
north they're less busy. You go to people's house up north, and the
doors are open. I am going to my relative's house I remember when I
used to go there several years ago and I'm the door is open the front
door is open in London you would never do that. And I'm ringing the
bell
And then they come eventually. And they say, why don't you just walk
in?
You know, you don't need an appointment they in London, now
you go to want to go to visit somebody, or they're at home, you
have to go and check, can we come to visit you? Nobody's got time in
London. Now the problem is, when you don't have time, the first
thing that you sacrifice is your Diem. You think, you know,
generally, you started doing a few extra cards or something like that
of sooner or something or hear your title. And that's okay, you
started reading Quran, you know, maybe a few pages a day, or
sitting off the federal prayer and doing a bit of thicker or
something like that, you know, you managed to get that additional
aspect, the first thing to go with will be those things. Because
those are we consider to be things that can be excised out of our
daily life, when we get busy. The problem is that we're already
always busy. So again, this is just the practical insight. This
is just a practical insight I'm trying to provide here, just the
thought process just to provoke our thoughts in this of where we
are. Now.
The second, he says, the eyes can The second sign of a disease heart
is that the eyes do not feel any tears. Very difficult for a person
to shed a tear in front of Allah subhanaw taala they make a dua
Dausa dry doors are just routine. If they even making a door we're
talking about. We're talking about people who even raise their hands
for the prayer. There's people who just about pray, and there's no
dua, they don't have time for door. We're talking about people
who have some time for dua, but cannot shed any tears. I remember
once it was the 27th night of Ramadan. And we were going to do
where we gave some encouragement for worship for the whole night to
spend this time. And is and one of the things I mentioned during that
talk is that you must cry in front of Allah, because Allah loves the
tear, this tear that is shed out of fear of Allah subhanaw taala is
very beloved to Allah subhanaw taala extremely beloved to Allah
subhanho wa Taala
so this man comes to me and he says, I really want to cry, but
I've never cried in my life.
I can't remember the last time that I've cried. It's a macho
thing not to cry. It's a manly thing people think not to cry. But
in front of Allah, what kind of men are we?
A man in front of Allah is a true man. A man who can cry because he
knows his position.
None of this works in front of Allah subhanaw taala hamdulillah
by the end of night he came I saw him and we came a federal time. He
said mashallah, I was crying like a baby.
I was crying like a baby. Allah had socked in his heart, because
he developed the concern that I need to cry. That's why it is a
dua of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam Allahu mania will
be coming. I in in Latin America, I mean, I in in Latin America, Oh
Allah, I seek your refuge I protection from eyes that do not
weep, that don't have the ability to cry. Of course, you have to be
in a state to cry, you can't just cry like this is not acting.
Actors cry,
actors cry, we, for us to be able to cry, we need to be in a state
of emotion. And we need to be sitting then thinking about us, we
don't have the time to think about ourselves. We're constantly it's
about getting the next job or the next chore taken care of. Because
we have so many things going on in our life. We're chasing after so
many things in our life. For us to be able to cry, we're gonna have
to sit down and think I mean, imagine, we're gonna have to think
that these are the things that I've been doing in my life, these
are the shortcomings that I have, these are the weaknesses that I am
experiencing. These are my problems, and look what Allah has
given me. And yet, these are the sins that I commit. These are the
wrongdoings that I'm involved in. And then you start, you know, when
you see these contradictions in our life, that's when it will
break through this hard heart that we have, that makes us closer to
Allah having those moments of just pure thought between us and Allah
subhanaw taala between us and Allah subhanaw taala every person
needs that every person needs at least five minutes a day at
minimum, where he just speaks to Allah subhanho wa Taala and
nothing else. We just speaks to Allah. You know, like, there are
many men in the world and many women in the world that the
husbands complain about the spouse complains about, he doesn't give
us any time. He's at work when he comes home. He's watching TV.
Right? He's online, he's on the internet. He doesn't give us any
time. People are complaining about others that they don't give them
any quality time. What I mean by quality time is when we're not
distracted by anything. So if I'm speaking to my wife for five
minutes, where I'm giving her my full attention, and I'm not doing
this year.
Yeah, that's right. Sorry, would you say? Yeah, that's right. I
mean, full attention
I'm all yours. When you make the other person feel that you are
this. Humans are complaining about humans.
How do we then give Allah our time when we don't even give other
humans our time? Because we are so selfish today, it's a selfish
world, essentially, that's what it is, why can't we give time to
others, because we feel our time is best for us. So if I am going
to give time to somebody else, it's half hearted. This time of
multitasking, multitasking. Now all the new research on
multitasking is that is bad for your brain,
a certain amount that you can do, but otherwise, it fragments your
brain, eventually, you can't concentrate on anything, because
you're constantly trying to do two things at once. You're
concentrating to alternate.
So this is the world that we're living in right now. It's it's a,
it's
an experience, these these 1015 years or so that we've just
passed, and the next 10 years or so, is going to be an extreme
experience for the human being because we have never experienced
life the way we are right now, with everything that's around us,
in terms of the engagement of artificial means around us. This
is what the issue is, we are so engaged to artificial means around
us that we've forgotten what reality and what real people and
what nature is that surrounds us. That is the crux of the matter
today. We are lost in an artificial worlds. And we don't
even know it. We don't even realize it we are so attached,
that for other human beings where we're nowhere. And this is the
sign of a disease hearts. This is essentially the size of a disease
hub, no weeping of the eyes, no weeping of the heart. There are
some people who may not weep from the eyes, but they weep in the
hearts internally, they are in a dilemma they are constantly
thinking they are constantly concerned. Number three. Number
three is a person remembers meeting with other people. But he
cannot remember his last meeting with Allah subhanaw taala.
Now what a statement, this is in no time, it says another signs of
a diseased heart is that a person remembers his meeting with other
people he can remember good times of his meeting. And he's then that
makes you look forward to that it gives you fond memories, but you
can't remember your last meeting with Allah subhanaw taala Hey, you
just pray salad right now, you just made your Muggeridge salats.
You just performed your prayer you pray five times a day. I'm not
even speaking about people who don't pray. I'm speaking about
people who do pray.
But you can't remember your meeting with Allah whereas we're
supposed to be meeting him five times a day and supposed to be
speaking to him. Subhanallah if I asked this question today, I don't
you know, if I asked this question today, how many of us know Psalter
Fatiha by heart I'm sure everybody will raise their hands. But then
if I'm to ask, how many of us know what certain Fatiha means, and
what it means and what that communication is, then there'll be
fewer people. Unfortunately, us, Indian, Pakistani Bangladeshi
people, when it comes to the Arabic, even what we read in the
Quran, then unfortunately, just because we don't have Arabic, from
a young age, we never know what it is. And yet, for 50 years, we're
making Salah sometimes 5060 years and we don't know what we're
saying to Allah. It's just some words that we say, there's Baraka
in there, that's it. It's the words that matter, then you
understand the interaction. That's why we can't remember the last
time we spoke to Allah, because we don't speak his language. We don't
understand his language. Allah understands all languages, of
course, right number number four.
Number four is a what if not pay you mentions is that a person is a
person is frightened of meeting with Allah.
A person is frightened of meeting with Allah. And, but he's
satisfied to say he is satisfied to sit and waste time sitting with
people. The modulus, you know, just sitting with people and
having a gossip standing outside the mosque and just sitting around
going to somebody's house, just relaxing. And today Subhanallah
the modulus is different. The modulus today is on Facebook, you
can be sitting at home, your whole family is around you. And you are
talking to people miles and miles away, but not talking to the
people next to us. So it's very enjoyable to pass time with
people. But to sit for two minutes extra, you know, to sit for two
minutes extra and meet with Allah subhanaw taala which means this
special intimate discourse that's very difficult for us. And again,
I don't say this in any kind of self righteous way as though I'm
fine with all of these things. And I'm just telling you, you must do
this.
This is just thought about how we are. Because if nobody tells us,
then we don't know that it's an issue.
We find, for example, the difference, that after Salah to
sit for five minutes and do a bit of extra thicker, extra
remembrance of Allah is more difficult than sitting for one
hour watching YouTube. How easy is it to waste our time on YouTube
telling me, you know, you go on YouTube, maybe even to look at a
good thing to watch a speaker of a, you know, a good, good scholar.
And then suddenly the problem with YouTube is that you don't just
don't see that. They give you all of these options. And one of those
options is generally a haram option. And unfortunately, without
enough sound the way we are we go to that and then we go to the next
one. We go to the next one. And then some look at the time I just
wasted one hour Subhanallah are we regretted at the end we feel bad
at the end? I've just regretted it. But while I was doing it, it
went so fast. And subhanAllah if after salats we have to sit just
for five minutes. Do you see how much Baraka you get in time, the
time doesn't even move anymore? And suddenly you think Subhanallah
Oh, La ilaha illallah whatever of God you're doing in a Sunday,
I said I'm gonna sit for five minutes, those five minutes seemed
like an hour. But on YouTube, one hour seems like five minutes. This
is just weird realities that we're facing in this world, weird
realities that we're facing in this world. So if somebody wants
to see their connection with Allah subhanaw taala they should see how
long they can sit in their place of prayer after they finish. Is it
A salaam aleikum? Wa Rahmatullah. And that's it. Let's go. We've
done you know, or is it that? No, I finished but I wish I could be
here for a bit longer.
We've got a long way to go. We've got a long way to go.
Some people live next to the masjid Allahu Akbar. Some people
live next to the masjid. And they don't have to feed to make their
salad in the masjid.
Everybody has an excuse, of course. But is that excuse a real
excuse? Will we regret that excuse afterwards? Is the question that
we must ask ourselves when we regret that question.
If someone has no time to eat,
if someone has no time to eat, then how long will he survive for?
Eventually, he's going to be so hungry. He's going to go and want
to just eat anything. Low blood sugar is there's going to be
problems. When it comes to our deen. Unfortunately, it doesn't
work that way. When a person becomes spiritually dead, we
become used to that state. And it's a very challenging state
because we don't even know when it comes to our body. Things will
start shutting down. Here unfortunately, the signs are all
abstract. If our heart becomes diseased, the signs are all what
are we don't feel close to Allah anymore. We don't feel like
praying anymore. Before I used to pray. I don't feel like praying
anymore. I don't feel as bad if I miss a pray the first time that
you miss a prayer. It feels very, very bad. How bad have I you know,
but once you become you'll become used to it. No longer do you feel
bad anymore. Committing haram, it becomes easy to do. The first time
you do it. La hawla wala Quwata illa Allah, Oh Allah forgive me
after you get used to it. This is the sign of a disease heart. But
the problem is that the disease is so much of a disease that we don't
even recognize the disease. So there's a difference in terms of
the disease.
Now, I just want to mention a few things. One is that
the difference between shaytaan and the knifes if we want to
rectify this heart, then the one thing that we're going to have to
focus on is keeping shaytaan away. And number two, sought out enough
salt. I'll give you an example. There's a hadith in Sahih Muslim
which mentions that every time a human being is born, every
offspring every child that's born, there's a shaytaan that's
allocated to this child. The shaytaan is as Allah describes in
the Quran was was 100 was the one who gives the whisper when and
then he retreats when the person makes the Dhikr of Allah, the
shaytaan retreats, but then he comes back as soon as the person
is out of vicar. Now let me ask you a question. It's Ramadan time.
And well forget about Ramadan, you're in Salat.
And in salats you are in a constant state of vicar you're
reading something. You're remembering Allah because you're
reading Subhan Allah at the speed that could be Pyrrha of the Quran
Salawat or masuleh You're doing something with the other hand
shaytaan should be away. How is it then possible that somebody says
that I am still thinking of my sin in solids? I remember the
pleasures of my sin in solids. In fact, the worst the shaytaan he
makes you remember in Eurocodes sujood when you're supposed to be
the closest to Allah
to totally distract us. There are people who've mentioned that I am
planning my next sin in my search though.
How is that possible?
If she thought is supposed to be a way, then how is it that we're
still thinking of sin planning us? Can't wait, just pray quickly go
into the computer go on to my SIM.
The reason is that this is no longer shaytaan
then who is it? It's the knifes
so it's the shaytaan shaytaan is a very simple creature in the sense
that you do thicker and he's gone. That's why they say that shape ons
ploy is Allah subhanaw taala in the Quran speaks about women and
says in the K that could not have been
Verily the challenge you place is much more severe than the even the
challenge of shaytan because we've shaved his head a little bit Lunz
gone.
However, wet this is the way to tell the difference between a
problem from the shaytaan or a problem of the knifes.
Ramadan is coming up.
And we know that most of at least a major shaytans if not all the
shayateen are locked up. Then why is it that we still feel like
committing certain sins in Ramadan?
Now if you look carefully, the sins you feel like committing in
Ramadan will never be a new sin. Like a new kind of sin? No,
because Shavon is generally not around you generally feel more
pious. So he's not going to give you new ideas. But if you think
carefully the things we want to do in Ramadan are things we are
habituated with things we're normally used to. So it's an
addiction of the knifes and it's just craving for it. That's enough
tissue that's what's happening in solid that's what's happening oh
Allah forgive me all I keep the shit out away from you still feel
like doing something is because it's a habit.
Now, how do you get rid of this habit? How do you subdue the
knifes that's what's important, the way to subdue the nose is to
oppose it.
And for that you need to have a full resolution. Yes, vicar of
Allah will help to strengthen the heart to go against the knifes
they say that sometimes if you have a bad habit, you can't help
doing these things. Because you're so used to it. It takes seven
times withholding for it for it to eventually be remitted one time,
two times, it will keep attacking this is the knifes but you can get
the knifes on our site by overcoming it, then the shaytaan
will not have because the older shaytaan has to do is he just has
to give us some ideas.
See the thing about shaytaan is that he knows us more than anybody
else. Do you know that? Because the Hadith he mentioned that
there's a shaytaan for every person is not one Chapin with 10
people and he's running around from one person to the next. Got
some free time, you know, it's one shaytaan for every individual. And
worse worse in Honduras, the Korean they call it the Korean.
And this shaytan has been with us since birth. He probably knows us
better than our parents. Because we do many things that our parents
don't know about. He knows, like Allah knows
shaytaan knows what makes us tick. He knows that if he gives a
certain idea, then we generally when you get that idea. And if we
go to this particular site, or this particular page, or if we see
this or if we think about this, then the other steps will be this
and he'll end up here shaytaan cannot force anybody to do
anything. He doesn't have that power. That's why he says you will
sway Sophie so do the maths and not feel colorblindness that he
whispers into the chest of men around the heart, not into the
heart, if he could have directly had an input in the heart and we'd
have no option. But he can't do that. We accept it. That's why
it's our responsibility on Day of Judgment. shaytaan will exonerate
himself. He will say Oh, I you know, I'm a disbelieve in what
you're saying. He'll he'll disbelieve in what you're saying.
Right? He will say I believe today, but it'd be too late. So
that's the way of the shaytaan He gives us these ideas. And he knows
what makes us tick. He knows what makes us fall. He's got everything
sorted. That's what shaytan does. So we need to sort our knifes out
which is embellishing our hearts and then after that we can remain
more protected. Now. If we look at the Quran, Allah subhana wa Tada
says, well, the Yashwant Vickery, Rahmani naka de la who shaytaan
for who Allah Who Karim
whoever stays away from the vicar of Allah. You know, we get so busy
in our world, it happens to all of us, that we that we start becoming
lacks in everything that we're doing in our a bar and everything.
Then, Allah says whoever stays away, turns away from the vicar of
Allah Naka en la who shaytaan we designate
shaytaan meaning we give him the control, not control, but we give
him that close association. And then that shaytaan becomes his
Kareem. Kareem means a very close, intimate
now then we don't stand much chance afterwards. This is what's
happening. This is just the reality of what's going on out
there. Right. So
then it becomes difficult.
Allah subhanaw taala helpers, Allah subhanaw taala help us. It
requires a constant efforts. It requires a constant efforts to ask
Allah for his trophy for Allah to continue to guide us and give us
additional layers of guidance. He has given us the first layer first
degree of guidance, He's given us the creme de la ilaha illAllah.
That's the basic layer that has given us Iman, then he gives us
the layer of Amala that we do certain deeds, but then we want to
him to give us the layer of true spirituality, where we feel the
light of Allah, we feel the Mercy, the baraka and the blessing. And
we feel connected to Allah subhanaw taala. But for that, we
have to make an effort. Some of us may owe it to our parents when we
owe it to Allah because you and I were born without choice in the
homes that we are in. We could have so easy we didn't choose.
We're not designer babies, that we would chose where we were going to
come, hey, I want to go in that family. We came where Allah wanted
us to be, we could have so easily have been born in another country
somewhere in an oppressed state, but not with all of the privileges
that we have right now. We thank Allah for the Eman that we have.
For many of us who are born in Muslim households who didn't even
have to look for it. Subhanallah what a blessing what a bounty. And
for those who are to convert, they've got even a greater bounty
in a sense, they have so much value for that. So number one, we
need to recognize that we have an issue and we need to take care of
it. The other thing is that you have to remember that climbing a
wall is difficult, but rolling down it is very fast. Climbing up
to Jana is difficult. Rolling down into * is very easy. Because
the it says Allah in the silica Allah He Hylia Allah in a
Siddhartha Allah He al Jana, the Verily the merchandise of Allah,
what He has on sale is expensive. And that is paradise. That is
paradise is difficult. It's an uphill climb. But we're going to
have to give some sacrifice if you want ascendancy, especially in the
hereafter. It is in the hereafter. Lion Pharaoh Omotola balloon 11 at
Allah have been called been Salim, it's only the sound heart that is
going to come and be of benefit in the hereafter. We want to send him
hot before we die. That's why on that day, a human being will be
willing to give everything in ransom. If he had it, his
children, his wealth, whatever, just ransom me on this day. But
no, that's not going to be accepted. Because that holds no
value on that day. What holds the value is what we have in our
hearts on that day. That's why a heart which is purified, that's
what Allah wants. We have to package and prepare our heart in
this world for presentation in front of Allah subhanho wa Taala
in the hereafter. Ya Allah, I've come to you with this pure hearts.
Please accept it from me. That's why
Hypno Otto Illa? He says,
okay for you che procollagen? was so acquire on him on Tabia, twin
female RT, how is a heart going to be illumined? When it is the forms
of creatures that are constantly been reflected on the hearts? How
is it going to gain entry into the pure court when it has not been
purified? From the ginawa from the impurity of its of Buffalo,
basically saying that, when we have everything else that we have
attached ourselves to this heart, now you see this is a masjid, we
have designated as a pure area. It's our designation. This really
there's nothing from Allah that shows that this is a place
different than any anything else. It's just in our minds this place.
And you know, the way we've decorated it shows that this is a
pure place. That's why if there's somebody who wants to come in as
really dirty and filthy, we're going to have an issue with that.
And we all know that if a person is in a seminary, defiled state,
person doesn't have muscle, whatever, then they shouldn't
enter into the Masjid. We know that we understand that our
concept why this is supposed to be a pure place. We made it pure. We
made it pure, we designated as pure and we don't allow impure
people to come here. We don't come here wearing pure now in the true
presence of Allah subhana wa Tada in his court in his pure court,
how is a diseased hearts? How is the filthy heart going to enter in
gain entry into that? That is the question that I'm asking myself
tomorrow on the Day of Judgment
Yeah Allah I know the state of my heart, how am I going to gain
entry? If it's not for your mercy, Ya Allah show us Your mercy in
this world allow us to rectify ourselves. We know that the we
want to package our heart in this world as a gift is package to be
presented in front of Allah subhanaw taala you don't give
rubbish things to people, you give things that are clean, tidy,
worthy, with value. And we have to make our hearts like that. That's
why it's kind of strange but
Subhanallah in our, in our homes, we'll spend minutes hours
sometimes cleaning the house, cleaning the toilet.
Somebody comes in, they come to your house as a visitor they want
to use the toilet you go in, you clean it first. You don't want to
show even the toilet to be dirty. To for something to be out of
place. We spend 1520 minutes cleaning the toilets in our homes.
And we can't even spend five minutes cleaning our hearts.
sitting there reading a stuffer remembering Allah to purify our
heart, we can't do that. We spend the time cleaning everything else
but we don't we spend ourselves grooming ourselves for work every
morning, to make be presentable in front of others. But to be
presentable in front of Allah subhanho wa Taala we have no time.
A heart gets rusty with sinners. You know, the famous Hadith says
every sin we commit gets a black dots, number of black dots in our
heart Allah knows best. We can only ask for His mercy, how Allah
is going to accept that only he knows. When we do not even accept
fruit. You go to a supermarket, they know that we don't accept
even fruit that has small spots on it. That's why they don't even buy
that kind of thing from Do you know that in countries like this
in the UK, etc. So much fruit is just dumped and disposed because
it is just slightly defective, slightly deformed, because people
will not accept it. They won't accept carrots that are not
completely straight, that are just slightly crooked. People won't
accept it. Have you ever seen a crooked keratin in Tescos? For
example. The reason is, all of that is disposed of. That's all
wasted because of the action of the people. If that's the case
with us today. Then how is Allah going to Allah Who is the purest
of beings, the most elegant of beings in Allah Jamila and your
humble Jamal, Allah is elegant, beautiful, and he loves beauty and
elegance, how is he going to going to accept our hearts that are
diseased? If that is the case with that, if that is the case with us?
We know from the Hadith that angels do not come into places
where there's that whole Mullah incubation fee, his sewer, oh,
Calvin, he saw rotten or called or killed that angels do not enter
into homes into rooms that have either a dog there or forms,
pictures, animal pictures, you know, animal pictures, is if
that's the case with melodica Terashima.
If that's the case with these angels, then what about our heart
which is has all forms of idols inside. It has the idol of people
that we idolize idealization of our wealth, idealization of our
iPhone, idealization of various different things that we love,
that we love to do food, the Broadway, you know, restaurants,
you know, people just some people just love to eat. I'm not saying
anything against restaurants, it's nice to go and eat sometimes, you
know, but that's a constant focus that that's all we live for just
to eat. And we critique and we just eat, that's idols in our
heart.
That's the case we're speaking about. This is a spiritual
disease, and it requires a cure. And the cure for it is to spend
some time
I'll say five things that if we do these five things on a regular
basis, within a week or two, maximum two weeks, you will see
the benefits of it. You will feel like a change person. Number one.
Symbol These are simple things. 100 is still far in the morning
and evening. stuff here Allah Rob beam in CO lism. We want to do it
100 times in the morning 100 times in the evening. What's the benefit
of this?
The benefit is you do it in the morning. All the minor sins that
have been committed from the nighttime, we said something we
did something whatever we saw something all forgiven. So we
clean. Now in the daytime, we have some other issues. So at night,
another 100 times, so we stay clean. We stay clean. It's like
having two showers a day I was in Sri Lanka. And it was so hot and
humid that you had to have two showers a day otherwise, you
couldn't meet people. That's how it was. It'd be totally just
A completely person with perspiration just completely
drowned in a sense, you have to. So it's like this we are literally
purifying ourselves twice a day. Allah loves purified people, you
stay away from the shape and shape on doesn't like purify people. The
Jinn don't like purify people, that's why it keeps people away. I
mean, I know in the Indian Pakistani community and Moroccan
community and so on, if paracetamol doesn't work, then
what it's a gin issue.
paracetamol naturally but it's a gin issue was Coco Chaga casein
Acharya. That's what they say right? 100 is the far
now that Hamdulillah we purified ourselves. Now we need to attract
some baraka and blessing from Allah. The Prophet salallahu
alayhi salam said, Whoever sends one blessing on me, Allah sends 10
blessings on him Salawat druchii
100 DREW Sharif in the morning, 100 Salawat in the morning, 100 In
the evening, Allahumma Salli, ala sayyidina, Muhammad wa an early
season or Muhammad or vertical Salam. So now Hamdulillah we are
filled with blessing. One blessing of Allah is sufficient. So we're
doing this 100 times. Also, when you do this, we are trying to
repay the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa salam for all the good
hedaya that He has given us that is supposed to reach us today. So
alhamdulillah now you start seeing the benefit of this a person who
is blessed by Allah is a wonderful being. Number three, the Quran has
to be part of our life. So if you can read even just one page in a
day
hamdulillah if you can read just half a page a day hamdulillah
doesn't make a difference. You're going on the tube, you're waiting
somewhere it's your lunch break quickly open the Quran, read one
page, if you can read it with meaning even better.
But at least read the Quran. Quran has to be part of our life, even
if half a page a day
what that which is less but regular is better than that which
you do mashallah in abundance. And then suddenly, you stopped the
next day because you think you've done enough for the whole week.
I remember when I first started taking Metformin for diabetes, I
didn't want to take the medicine. So I started taking it only when I
had too much sugar. So if one day I had to eat chocolate, whatever,
then I'll take the Metformin otherwise I don't. I went to a
doctor and I told him this is this is not paracetamol. You do that
with Perriman, you got a headache, then you take you don't take
paracetamol every day. But with Metformin is to regulate your
blood. So you're supposed to take it every day, you can't just take
your when you haven't. You know there's other medicine for that.
So likewise, dhikr is not paracetamol. It is something we
need constant vitamins every day, it's a constant boost that we need
every day. So first thing was 100 is the 400 druchii for blessing,
some portion of the Quran and number four, remember what I
mentioned earlier that everybody needs to spend a few minutes with
Allah everyday, some kind of meditation, some kind of
introspection. Now you could do many different things. You could
just think about your life and how sinful we are and all Allah Allah
has given us and just connect with Allah like that. Another way you
could do is you can imagine Allah as Rama and mercy descending on
our hearts. And then our heart just says Allah, Allah, Allah, not
nothing with the tongue, you can just with the heart, because you
see with the tongue. That's a separate vicar, which we'll be
doing anyway, with the tongue. What happens is when you say so
hang on as well, you know that asleep? You because you're doing a
movement, you think you're accomplishing something even if
your mind is somewhere else. Here I'm saying we need to do something
with our heart. So there's no deception here. If you know that
you thought about something else, you know, you didn't do the vicar.
So five minutes, we just taking the name of Allah with your heart.
Hola. Hola. Hola. Yo, nothing with your tongue. Just your heart is
beaming Hola, hola. Hola. wheezing, with charisma, Arabic,
remember the Name of your Lord. That's what Allah says in the
Quran. Remember the name of your Lord. Because we don't know Allah.
We can't see Allah, we can't define Allah. So you you just
focus on his name. And that name will give you an understanding and
bring Allah close to you. So that's number four. And number
five.
Number five, we need inspiration.
I guarantee a majority of us want to do these things. But we just
get misled we lose the inspiration. So once a week on
minimum to attend a gathering, either in person if you can, which
has a spiritually motivating thing. So not a masjid management
committee meeting, right? Which are important for different
reason. names or or or Isaac meeting, or you know, any other
kind of meeting. I mean, something that is spiritually invigorating,
that will remind you of Allah that will remind you of our
responsibility that will make us feel like yes, I want to do
something at least once a week one measure of significance is our
sisters listening.
So if you can't find a gathering like this, that you can attend,
then find something on
mine. Today Allah has given us a great blessing of YouTube.
Right which is can also be a curse. Right? But Subhanallah you
can have some of the best scholars of the world saying some of the
best things, and he's at your service. So you start him off, you
can stop him where you want to take notes if you need. If
something is really inspiring you can make him repeat him. If he's
talking too slowly, you can speed him up two times the speed three
times the speed. There is Allah has given us these ability these
these facilities online, if you can't physical presence in a match
list is the most effective because human beings they benefit from one
another. That's where Allah says, Yeah, you will Adina and Manu
Kumar Tsadikim are people who believe be with the truthful ones.
If you can find the truthful one, who reminds you of truth and Allah
then that is what you need to be with if you can't be with him in
person, then be with him virtually. But somehow you know,
we need a source of inspiration at least once a week
at least once a week because that will keep us because we after a
few days you start getting a bit lazy when you hear that
inspiration no I must carry on I must do more here miss my Quran
reading yesterday I must carry you miss it one day, you miss it two
days then you miss it forever. But believe me if you do these five
things is they far
is too far. Salawat delusory Quran intro maraca meditation is
restriction and attending a blessed gathering. I guarantee in
two weeks you will feel closer to Allah subhanaw taala. Without
doubt, without doubt 100 is still far in the morning and evening.
stuff will Allah 100 salah, Tomasulo Lhasa Lhasa morning and
evening, a portion of Quran every day,
five to 10 minutes of just personal time with Allah
meditation. And number five is attending a spiritual gathering
where you know you feel closer to Allah. So that's basically what
you do six things and in sha Allah, you will see the benefits.
You know, this is when troubles come in our life. And we get we
don't know how to deal with them. There's a sister who came to me.
She works in the city in a big insurance firm and so on. She had
a divorce, she had problems. She couldn't sleep at night, right.
And she started doing this thing. Within I think one and a half to
two weeks, she sent me an email, she says I'm sleeping better than
I used to sleep even before
another sister who had a similar problem, the whole family was
against her for not wanting to stay with the husband because he
was a bad man. But you know, in some cultures, Pakistani culture,
Indian Asian culture sometimes, you know, it's kind of crazy in
that kind of situation. So she was alone. And she just was
vulnerable. She started doing this, she says, Alhamdulillah I
have enough strength to stand up to anybody, because I know what
I'm doing is right.
So
most of the time, the depression in our life, and the difficulty
that darkness that surrounds us, the baraka that leaves us is
because of the absence of remembrance of Allah in ourselves
in our homes. So that's why I'm glad you guys chose this topic.
Because it was only yesterday I said what is the topic for
tomorrow and I and I saw that the title of that okay, you know, this
is a very important topic. Not everybody wants to speak about
this topic, but it's a very essential topic. So may Allah
subhanaw taala accept from us
will make a shut door insha Allah who met into salaam salaam
Tabarrok the other jewelry with a chrome Allahumma yatta yatta
