Allah subhanho wa Taala says in the Quran OMA Ursula K le
Rahmatullah mean, we've only sent you as a source of mercy and mercy
give her a source of mercy and mercy for all the worlds I mean,
the same word is used in Al hamdu Lillahi Rabbil Alameen, all
praises to Allah, the Lord of the world. If you want to understand
what Alameen means, then just look at the Tafseer of Surah Fatiha
where Allah subhanaw taala speaks about all praises to Allah. Al
hamdu Lillahi Rabbil Alameen the Lord of All the Worlds now how
many worlds is ALLAH SubhanA wa Tala THE LORD OF He is the Lord of
All the Worlds when we say worlds here, we could distinguish worlds
or categorize or classify worlds in different ways. For example, we
can classify worlds as in the world of the souls and the spirits
before we come into this world, what we call the element Arwa.
Then it comes to this item of dunya, where we actually our
spirit is given a body where every soul is given and designated a
body. And we live this world going through infancy, youth, middle
age, seniority, and Allah protect us from decrepitude. And then we
leave this world then comes the animal browser, then comes the
Abode that is the intermediate abode between this world and the
next world. That's another item, then comes item of the day of
judgment, where the hisab and the reckoning takes place. And then
it's Jana, or Johanna, and may Allah subhanaw taala. Grant us the
gardens genital for those. That's one way of determining Ireland.
Then, of course, there are many other items beside that in the
sense that we only speaking about human beings here. But there's
Ireland will gin we believe in the creation of the gin, we believe in
the island will melodica the angels we believe in the island mo
to you the island of the birds, we believe in the island will heiwa
nuts, the island of
animals in general. So these are all different types of items.
Allah subhanaw taala is the Lord of all items, all worlds whether
we know them and understand them or we don't understand them. And
then in the same Quran, Allah subhana wa Tada calls the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam a mercy for all worlds. And he's
speaking about something similar in terms of the world's the
prophets of Allah, Islam has been sent as a source of mercy for all
the worlds not just for the human beings, to which he was directly
sent, or to the jinn to which he was sent. I'll give you an
example. The famous story of the ascension, the Miraj, where the
prophets Allah was taken by night from Jerusalem to from missile,
haram to Masjid Al Aqsa, and then from there, above to the heavens.
It's mentioned in the Hadith that when he got to the first heaven
Jibreel it Salam was with him when he got to the first heaven, the
angel who is in charge of the gates of the first heaven, the
summit, a summit will Oh, well, he said,
who is with you said Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. Oh,
has he been invited? A lot of people translate this as has he
been invited? Has he got permission, but another way to
read it, which is a more praiseworthy way of reading it.
Has he been invited? Wow, we're gonna get him here. Subhanallah
you know, in fact, some of the commentators now this is not in a
hadith but some of the commentators they mentioned. That
aside from the fact that this was an amazing journey that was taken
from the first to the second, third fourth, up to the seventh
heaven beyond that to the Sidra tournament as mentioned in the
sokkia, Hadith in Sahih, Muslim etc. And then to meet with Allah
subhanho wa Taala and then he saw Allah according to ignore Buster
the Allah Han and other Sahaba as well. So yes, there was a personal
benefit in there, because this happened after the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam had to experience to great sorrows in the
10th year of his McKee life of his second life. In the 10th year of
the American life, he lost two very, very close supporters to
Sources of Strength of this world that he had one was his beloved
wife, her deja vu the Allahu anha. And number two was his uncle Abu
Talib, though not a believer, but supporting him to the final to his
final day. He lost both of these in the 10th. Year in Makkah, so
remember, he stayed for 13 years in Makkah mukaiyama. This was the
10th year, three years left to for the migration to take place to
Madina Munawwara and that was the 10th year of prophecy of Naboo. So
he loses both of these. Now that is a major set that was a major
setback for him. Allah subhanaw taala gave him this special
journey to to to the higher realms to the super luminary world and
beyond to meet with Allah subhanho wa Taala where no, no other human
being has ever been. In fact, he went to where no other angel had
gone, because when Gibreel Ali salaam took him to the furthest
reaches to a similar tremenda there came a point where he Jabril
Ali Salam said to him, I can't go beyond here. Now you'd have to
traverse alone, and thus the province of Ulsan went alone to
his meeting with ALLAH SubhanA wa Tada.
Now, the most interesting thing is that a lot of commentators what
they've mentioned here, is that one of the other wisdoms of this
ascension journey, is that since the Prophet salallahu Salam is a
source of mercy for the worlds, he is also a mercy that makes him a
source of mercy for the inhabitants of the upper realms of
the heavens. And thus, this was his journey, so that they could
also see him that he could also go there and witness that. That's why
on every heaven on the seven heavens that he went past, they
will ask this question each time who is with you? Muhammad?
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has he been invited? Wow, has he been
invited? That was exhilaration every. It's in the hadith of
Muslim. When he got to the first heaven. He met there. Adam Alayhis
Salam.
And the mighty Salam said marhaba Bibi, Saudi Ben abhi asylee
Welcome, welcome, my welcome, blessed son. This is a father
finally meeting his son although he seen him in Jerusalem, just
before that when the prophets Allah some lead the solids of the
prophets just before a sending then the second there was the
second heavens, a Saudi Saddam was there. The third one? There was a
Yeah. Hey Ali salaam, then Idris Ali Salam. Then Harun Ali Salam on
this on the fifth one. And then on the sixth one, it was Musa alayhis
salam. And then on the seventh one, it was none other than
Ibrahim alayhis salam, another of his great grandfather's who is
considered the most superior after the Prophet sallallahu sallam. The
most superior of all the prophets is Ibrahim Ali Salaam. He's
sitting there with his back to Al Bayt al Mahmoud Al Baitul,
McLemore, which is the Kaaba of the angels. He sits there, that's
where he is. And
then the Prophet salallahu Salam had this journey. So the thing is
that the Prophet sallallahu Sallam is a source of mercy for all. Now,
everything that I'm going to say today should not be anything new
to any of us. And yes, it makes us feel nice when we hear that the
Prophet salallahu Salam is a source of mercy. His deen is a
mercy, His existence on the earth was a mercy. Everything about him
was a mercy. Now all of that is great as believers, we mashallah
we really enjoy this discussion today is not a rational
discussion. Neither is it a non rational disk or an irrational
discussion. It's a non rational discussion. It's all about love.
Love is not rational or irrational. Love is beyond
rationality. There are people who love things they have ID no idea
why they love them. Right? There are some people whose wives or
whose husbands are not what anybody else would think that they
would be like. But then it's like an individual who was once asked
that you are so handsome, your wife is so ugly, or the other way
around, you can take it. How do you get along? Is his take these
eyes and look at it. Take these eyes and look at my spouse. That's
the way it is. How would you love someone, there's a rational love
and there's a non rational love. Rational love is where you know,
there's benefits somewhere. So then that's why you have to love
them because you have to grow to love them. Because you know,
there's benefiting coming from here. So though you may 1 feel
that there's no you know, there's no Congeniality, there's no
connection, but you know, there's some benefit, they must come from
there. And you find the overlook all of these hurdles, and you
start loving that individual that is called Help, actually, and hope
alacrity that's an intellectual love where you love somebody, or
you make yourself love somebody for a reason. Then there's a
horrible Fitri which is the natural love, which is purely
given by Allah subhana
Without it's a non rational feeling
of hope Alpha three. Now the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam clearly has all the factors which would require an
intellectual love for him anyway. Because you love people for
different reasons you love people because they're very handsome.
Generally people are inclined towards beauty. This is a natural
human trait. Right? You know, I know you to get us a few weirdos
who like the ugly in the world, right? And when you show them
good, they don't like it. Right? For example, if there was this guy
who used to work with filth all day, and he fainted. Everybody's
trying to, you know, bring about perfume for him and his nothing is
not coming by. And then after somebody says, I know what to do
with this, you've got another janitor, and they brought some
filth and made him smelled, and you woke up. I mean, I don't know
how true that story is. But that's what's related. And I don't I
don't like really the stories anyway. But the point is that,
generally for most people, beauty is something we inclined to. I
mean, studies after studies show that studies after studies show
that the Prophet salallahu Salam, if you look at his description, in
the first chapter of the Shamal, for example, characteristics of
Rasulullah sallallahu Sallam by media and others, you will see
that he had everything he possessed every characteristic
that would just make you fall in love with him. Yes, initially,
because of the way he was, he overrode you. He bowled you off
your feet, you felt a bit, you felt a bit, you know, overrode.
And because of that, you may have felt a bit frightened. But once
you got to know him, that said he would possess you. That's why many
people, many people that the professor Lawson would speak with
speak to, they would actually start thinking that they were the
most beloved to the Prophet salallahu Salam. So he would speak
to you, and he would make you feel like you are close to him. This is
a tactic that is very difficult, very difficult. Very few people
can do this. That's why I'm gonna answer the Allahu Anhu.
Once he decided to question the Prophet sallallahu Sallam and say,
Who is the most beloved to you thinking that it would be him? He
said, Aisha.
After that her father all Bukhara, the Allah one. And then after that
he stopped. He says, I don't know where I'm going to be. So let me
just stop right here. Right? It's better not to No, this is amazing.
This is amazing. The Prophet salallahu Salam, whether it was to
a slave girl of his time, whether it was to anybody he would be
willing to help them out and speak and there's a compassion this word
is Rama to Lille Iranian comes from now.
So he had the beauty and the handsomeness.
He had the knowledge a lot of times you love somebody because of
the immense amount of knowledge and know how that they have the
experience that they have the Prophet sallallahu you have some
there was no there was no second you know that he was unique in His
knowledge. So that's another factor to love him if you know you
have no other reason to love him. There are so many factors with a
soul Allah salAllahu Alaihe Salam. Now, when it comes to the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, Allah subhanho wa Taala says, as he is
on he describes the Prophet salallahu Alaihe Salam This is
actually a description of how he's Rahmatullah Alameen mercy for the
world's Allah says, as easily Hema I need to hurry Sanada you can
build more meaning in a row for Rahim
as easily humor, anytime, anything that will
trouble you, that will pain you. That is very difficult for him to
bear. He hates to see other people in pain. He's got that compassion
in the heart. It's not only when it afflicts him, or his own family
members. He doesn't want to see anybody in pain that includes
animals. That includes the environment around us with the
trees and everything else that's around us as Eastern Allah Hema, I
need to hurry so nitricum He is avidly. He has avid interest in
your benefit. He's Heidi's extreme
desire to see good for yourself and build more money in a row for
Rahim and with the believers. He is compassionate and he is
merciful. So Rahim is the name of Allah, but it's also a name that
you can use for Rasul Allah selasa. Because the prophets Allah
Subhan Allah called him by Rahim, not ramen, ramen is unique to
Allah subhanho wa Taala because ramen the meaning of Ramadan is a
very particular meaning. But Rahim is a possibility is can be used
for the purpose of the law of cinema or for anybody else because
it means merciful.
Now,
Allah subhanho wa Taala he's given the love of the Prophet sallallahu
Ali, he's given the love
of the Ummah, and everything to the Prophet salallahu Alaihe
Salam, but at the same time, is also given the Ummah the love for
the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. Now, this is where it gets
complicated.
You know the love that people have for the prophets, Allah so whether
you are in India, whether you're in the West
Whether you're in West Africa or North Africa, or in China or
whatever, the one thing that binds this Muslim Ummah is the love for
Rasulullah sallallahu sallam. That's why when you see that
somebody depicts the Prophet salallahu Alaihe Salam in an
unfavorable way, a disgusting way, then Muslims find it extremely
difficult to just pass it off as a comedy, because that's a non touch
area for them. Now, because others have basically, they don't have
that kind of reverence for anybody, they only have it for
people who are passing a star of the time, you know, the supermodel
of the time, the hero of the time, the the film star of the movie
star, whatever it is, and they always short lived, they're always
short lived, you know, it comes and goes with the Prophet
sallallahu, alayhi wasallam. We know how much we owe him. And
because of that, it creates this natural love within our hearts, we
find it very difficult to tolerate anything. But people who are
outside of that who've never experienced that kind of love,
think it's foolish. It's like you see the love between two
individuals, which is so intense. And you wonder why. Because you
don't experience that thing. Love is something that has to be
experienced, that comes with belief. So the Muslims love him
wherever they are. That's why they will stand up. And sometimes even
do crazy things. Because love intoxicates, her Bucha, your musim
right love of something blinds you and defends you. And yes, the
Prophet saw some did teach us justice. Because when he was
abused, he became even more lenient, if the Dean was abused,
different story. But if he personally was abused, it says
that it would just increase him in his leniency and his softness and
compassion. That is the model he wants for us. However, the fervor
inside that you that Muslims have around the world, wherever you
are, you know, I've traveled quite a bit. And we were in West Africa,
just less than a year ago, right in 2015. And subhanAllah, you
wherever you go, this is Mauritania, Senegal, And
subhanAllah, the kind of love that you see among Muslims, and
wherever you go, it just inspires you, sitting in the West,
sometimes, in the midst of all of the problem, in the midst of all
of the editorials and the criticism, and freedom of speech,
etc, etc. You know, being banged on the head, you must succumb to
this, you must agree to this, you must stop getting, you must stop
getting upset.
And when you see this, and you feel a bit that, you know, am I
doing this right or not? What's going on? Is it only us who are
believers in the world. But when you travel, and you see the
strength of belief in other parts of the world, you certainly think
Alhamdulillah I'm not alone. Because Subhanallah there's this
feeling. Europe has never had a profit, right, Europe has had
never had a profit. That's why they go to people like Immanuel
Kant and others, because they're giving them the only kind of
theory and philosophy that makes you know, that makes some sense to
them for some reason, right? So that's why they have to hold on to
their philosophers. A lot of these philosophers, they spoke about
things that were atheist. They didn't believe in God, though some
of them did. Right. So that's why they had those who wanted a
prophet have to import Jesus. That's why Jesus peace be upon him
is an imported profits into Europe, Europe, according to what
we know, according to the what the record show doesn't have a profit,
prophetic history, Middle East has in other areas have that, but we
don't have that here. So it's a kind of interesting place that
we're in. So whatever I speak about today about the Prophet
salallahu alayhi salam, it's something which is a reality. It
is something that makes us feel good. But you know what I wanted
to do today, the purpose of it is not just a feelgood factor, the
purpose of it is education. That how can we understand the true
prophet carrot prophetic character, the prophetic
equilibrium, the prophetic balance, which is the most
important thing, the balance? And how can we adopt that in our
lives, so that we can be true representatives of Rasulullah
sallallahu alayhi wasallam in this world, and the reason that people
have an issue with the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is
because of what they see around them depict representing the
prophets of Allah Islam, which is you and I, you know, people have
told me in certain European countries, that initially when the
Muslims went there, people were very hospitable people went there
from Africa, Middle East, etc, people were very hospitable.
However, slowly, slowly, you see all of these free things on offer,
which you don't see in countries, in other parts of the world, you
know, where you can just sign up and say, You're not working and
then you get a lot of money, right? Or you say you're sick and
you know, you can take off work for six months and still be paid.
You know, it was very easy to do this. Whereas it's not easy to do
that in other countries.
There's nothing for free in other countries, but he was quite easy
just to say a little lie, make a little deceptive statement, and
you get all of these things. People listen, people saw this
that these guys are coming in and they taking all of our money, we
pay the taxes. And these guys are enjoying themselves, the driving
the because, you know, they're causing corruption because in
Harvard, a lot of it is student now there's racism, no doubt. But
this just helps that racism.
This helps that racism. So we can
revel in the beauty of our profits on the laurels. And all we want
and keep exclaiming how great a prophet he was and how much we
love him. But until we don't take that feeling that character
that conduct onto the street and show people that conduct of what a
true Mohammadi is, at your workplace and in society, then
we're fighting a losing battle. Because we wonder why we have so
much love for Rasulullah we see so much greatness in him and calling
the mercy of the worlds etc. And people are willing to criticize
him, condemn him and display him in these weird ways.
Why? Because they have no access. They're not going to read a book
on Sierra. They want to see this hero. What is this big deal that
you guys keep speaking about? Why don't we see it in you people?
So if there's any lesson from today, the lesson is that we need
to become different. We need to become different. That's what's
going to make a difference. Otherwise, we're going to have to
constantly be putting out fires. We're going to be constantly
having to be putting out fires, that other people will start
because we're not representing the Prophet salallahu Salam, Allah
subhanho wa Taala gives the Prophet sallallahu the he says
about the believers he says a Nabil Ola Bill meaning I mean and
fusi This is a description of the believers of how they feel about
Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam. They believe that the
Prophet salallahu Salam is more important for them than even
themselves. They love him more than themselves. This is what
Allah says in the Quran. There are two bounties that Allah subhanaw
taala has given this ummah, He's given us a lot of bounties. He's
given us so many gifts and so many bounties we have so many Nerima
that Allah has actually said, We're intero dunya Rahmatullahi
Latok Suha.
If you even try to enumerate the bounties of Allah, you will not be
able to count them, you won't be able to count them. Now, out of
all of these bounties, Allah subhanaw taala doesn't express His
favor upon us by saying look at the nose that I gave you. Look at
the ears and the eyes that I gave you what a great bounty. There are
so many beautiful bounties. One of the closest one of the most
valuable that we have is our eyes. But Allah subhanaw taala doesn't
say in the Quran, look at your eyes. Look, you know how much
bounty that I've given you, you know, when you give somebody
something, and then you want them to understand the value of what
you've given them, right, what you've given them so you mentioned
that not to, not to kind of remind them so that they give you
something in return. But just to remind them, look, there's a value
in what you've been given. Right now there are two things that
Allah subhanaw taala speaks about as bounties. Despite all the
bounties that He's given us, there are two that he singles out. Allah
subhanaw taala says Aloma are committed to locum Dena, who will
attempt to earn a community. What are the two common Islam Medina
today I have completed your faith and I have completed my bounty
upon you. The bounty is the faith. The mission has been completed,
the message has been conveyed. So today I have completed your dean,
as the Bronx philosopher was going to depart from this world. This
was the verse that was revealed and I've completed my bounty upon
you. So one is the bounty of Islam which we know is extremely
valuable for us because it will take us into jannah inshallah,
that's our ticket. There's another one though, where Allah subhanho
wa Taala specifically reminds us that this is a bounty. You know
what he says? Allah subhana wa Tada says, look at the min Allah
while meaning his Bertha fee him rasool Allah, Allah subhanho wa
Taala reminds Allah subhanho wa Taala has favored Allah subhanho
wa Taala has favored the believers because he has sent the messenger
to them. He is saying this messenger is a bounty for you.
This messenger is a special gift for you. And I want you to know
that that's why I'm making a big deal about it. You've been given
many bounties, but this is the one other bounty that I want to really
stress and emphasize that you have received. That's why there is no
replacement for us all allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. You
see, the way it works generally is that Allah subhanahu wa Tada
has placed if you look at women, the way they did
Different from men. Is that if we had a child, no, no, you guys are
going to cry, right?
You guys all older, strong guys. But if a child started crying, and
they were women here instead of men, they would become way more
emotional than men mental think always grateful. What's your
problem, man? Are you grateful? Don't cry.
I'm not saying you're crying, just pretending that you're crying.
So what's your name?
Mohamed, not magnet.
That's the Turkish way of saying it. So I thought you said Muhammad
Shala.
So
if there's women here, they just have this natural propensity,
natural inclination. That's what Allah has given to the believers,
towards the Prophet salallahu Alaihe Salam. Now,
in the time of Salima naughty Salam was to women, they started
arguing about a child that one is saying it's mine. The other one is
saying is mine.
How do you argue over a child? You know, it's just like, you wonder
like, you should know your child, right? But all children look
really similar. All babies look very similar when they're born for
the first day or two, right? Unless they've got a marked
different lots of hair, or whatever the case is. And we have
had stories where in hospitals, people have been switched. And
they find out after 10 years, sometimes after 15 years. So we've
had some crazy stories. So this is not a crazy idea.
What happened is both women may have lost the child, there was one
child and both of them are claiming that child, nobody is
able to deal with it. Like, you know, there's no DNA testing in
those days. So how are you getting somebody comes to they were told
to go to sleep on it. He said, I'm going to say Marathi Salam, Salam
wa Alayhi Salatu. Salam tried to deal with it. And then he finally
said, You know what?
In order to sort this out, the simplest way is let me just cut it
in half. And we give you half off each if none of you can agree
whose child it is, then let's just cut it in half.
What one of the women immediately she said she didn't say anything.
The other one? She said no, no, it's her child give it to her. So
sorry, my son gave it to her, meaning the one who'd said give it
to the other one. Because what he realized is that the one who
wasn't so worried about it being cut was probably a bit doubtful.
And the one who said, give it to the other one, it's her child, it
must be her child, because at least this way that child stays
alive. So even if it doesn't get a full child, but you will get a
live child and living child. You get that story.
That is the love that Allah creates for children in a mother's
heart. Father also has love but they express it differently. Now,
let's look at the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, the
Prophet salallahu Alaihe Salam, every aspect of him was a mercy.
So for example,
the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa salam, once they are traveling,
and they are on their way somewhere, they on the way back to
Madina, Munawwara I think and it's late night, and everybody's tired.
So they decide to set camp somewhere. And because it's
earlier than Fisher time, Fisher time is not here yet. They tell
below the Allahu Anhu that you wake everybody up. So you stay
awake. You wake everybody up. He was supposed to be the alarm
clock. Everybody goes to sleep. Poor Billa Radi Allahu and also
fell asleep as a human being he fell asleep as well. I would say
that he was made to sleep, because this was a special occasion. Now
what happens is when he falls asleep, it says that the thing
that woke them up was the sun rising. So Fajr gone. This was a
Fudger missed the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
missing a federal prayer, the Companions missing a federal
prayer. Wow. That should be unheard of, in general sense, yes.
But this is also a source of mercy for the Ummah that this was made
to happen, because then you get the whole concept of Kava, and how
you make up prayers. So after everybody did wake up, then the
Prophet sallallahu Sallam led the fajr prayer as Kedah as a makeup
after sunrise, what a source of mercy if you do sleep. Now, if
you're not setting your clocks visual, and thinking, well, if I
wake up, I wake up. And if I don't, then I don't, then you are
already sinful. Right? Unless you've got a proper natural alarm
clock in your mind. But otherwise, if you know you can't wake up and
you don't bother to set the alarm clock, then you're guilty. But if
you set the alarm clock and you do the best that you can, if you're
going to get a flight the next day, and then you still don't wake
up, which is a possibility, then in that case, we're forgiven then
we just make gotta have that prayer. That's a source of mercy
to learn those rules from the Prophet sallallahu alayhi
wasallam.
In fact, the profit and loss of meet one is a very special though
he says that any person that I have cursed inadvertently made a
dua against them, whatever. Oh Allah make that a sadaqa for them.
So even the curse of the Prophet sallallahu Sallam or inadvertent
wrong to offer somebody becomes a source of mercy for that person,
because the Prophet saw some is concerned about everybody is
concerned about even those that he may say something to just
inadvertently and then they they may be harmed by that. So the
prophets of Allah mentioned that now the Prophet sallallahu alayhi
wa sallam, if you look at his mercy, you will see it manifest
everywhere. Now, the best way to understand is that if you see how
the culture was at the time, it was a culture of darkness, of
ignorance, of no enlightenment, that was our enlightenment, the
West have had their enlightenment in Rome, etc, you know, some 100
years ago, and they want the Muslims to follow suit in that
we've been there done that we've seen that it doesn't work for us,
our enlightened we've already we it's already happened. And we're
clear about what it is. That's why you see that the Muslim community,
in terms of the general belief doesn't change its understanding
of justice, its understanding of morality, remains pretty much
straightforward. Now, the way to understand this is not in light of
the Western criteria of today that we are living amongst, it's to see
that it's a middle path between this extreme and the other
extreme, before the Prophet sallallahu sallam was sent to this
world. So for example, if you look at the books that Allah Salam, and
the manifestation of His merciful nature, within
mother's any Muslim mother, and what their responsibility is, so
according to the Arab tradition of the time,
the Arab tradition of the time and much of the world in general,
women will look down upon wives absolutely had no status. wives
had no status. That's why I mentioned in the Quran, so many
rules about divorce. What people used to do is that if they lost
interest in somebody, they would just leave her hanging, they
wouldn't look after her, they wouldn't be with them, but neither
would they divorce them. When a person died, their wife would be
inheritance for their brother or their inheritor. This is the kind
of crazy scene we had in those days. Right? They had absolutely
no ability to own anything. You know, there's so many factors of
this nature. When the Prophet salallahu Alaihe Salam explained
the importance of wives, Allah subhanaw taala revealed in the
Quran that you can't leave them suspended like this. They have
they gave them He gave them equality. That's when things
changed in that world. So when it came to wives, the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, the best of you is the best person
to his spouse to his wife.
And he says, I am the best to my wife. That was a real, you know,
today, that sounds a normal statement. But in those days, that
was a statement. That was a statement that was an unusual
statement. A very unusual statement.
It's like somebody saying, and I'm not proponent, I'm not a proponent
of this. Say that. Okay? You know, somebody from a very traditional
background, you say, look from now on, no wives have to cook anymore.
You guys have to order your food or cook yourself.
How crazy does that sound? Now, that's how crazy that sounded
probably at that time. But it was the truth. The Prophet sallallahu
alayhi wa sallam, the mercy of his comes to mothers, the mercy of his
comes to spouses, the mercy of is comes to older and younger. That's
why the Prophet sallallahu sallam said very clearly, those who do
not honor our elders, who do not respect our young, they're not
from us. So he gave an equal honor, an equal footing for
everybody in this world. This was part of his mercy. For the other
month, the Prophet sallallahu sallam said Allah, what are the
two Ambia if you have respect for your profits, then understand that
the inheritance of these prophets are the Aloma.
The Prophet sallallahu alayhi salam gave respect to the
ornament. That's why he said 41 where he were hidden, I should do
other shaytaan him in LVR Arabic that you have one scholar, he is
more severe on shaytaan than 1000 1000 Rule worshipers. You
have somebody who's in the masjid all day, row worshiper doesn't
study much doesn't understand them assignment shaytaan can mislead
that person shaytaan finds it more difficult to mislead. One Alim
more than 1000 worshippers. So the prophets Allah ism is establishing
status for people because that's how Mercy comes in this world.
The Prophet salallahu Salam is encouraging people to study
because you new study, you become enlightened, a particular element,
a person who seeks the knowledge of Allah. That's why the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, anybody who seeks the knowledge of
Allah is going to be the knowledge sorry, the pathway to gender is
going to be facilitated for him. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam said that the fear
fish in the oceans will make dua for the pilot with the birds in
the heavens make dua for the tidepool alien, the angels lay
down their wings in respect and honor for the tolerable alien. Now
many of you sitting here probably wondering that for a tileable
alien, I need to go and enroll myself in a course in a madrasa.
Now here, I've come here to open that up for you. Right, I've come
here to open that up for you, that is not that difficult.
It's not that difficult. All you have to do is once a week, for
example, once every two weeks, go and find the class that you can
attend,
in which you're learning something new,
a particular study of Tafseer, or fifth, or whatever the case is,
and your intention should be that this is my tolerable URL for one
hour a week, or one and a half hours a week or twice a week,
whatever you can give, oh, Allah, I am doing this so I can get
closer to you. And I can also have all of these benefits. I want the
angels to lay down their wings. I want the fish in the ocean to pray
for me. And I want the birds in the heavens to pray for me. You
can also do it. We've been mis you can say we've been deceived to
think that this is only people who sit in the mother as of six years
or seven years and take a long course go to this university in
that university. You know, some university, it's for anyone who
seeks Yes, the people who study more they get more of this more
model, but you will still benefit from this. This is a source of
mercy from the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
The province of lorrison speaks about the trader. This is his
mercy for the trader. The way he gives his advice is to encourage
them and also to stop them from deception. The brokers are some
said a dangerous idea, Sudoku. I mean might be you know CDT. That
Dodger the trader who is trustworthy a sudoku Amin who's
trustworthy and truthful will be with the prophets on the Day of
Judgment in will be with the Siddiqui and and the truthful
people on the Day of Judgment. So the role is awesome is encouraging
trades, but do it in a sincere way. And in a truthful way. That's
why the prophets Allah some said In another Hadith, but to djaro,
your Sharona foot John, Yeoman, clear Ilam. And Barbara was
Sadhak.
That traders in general will be gathered as transgressors on the
Day of Judgment. Because this is a natural inclination in people who
are doing trade to make that extra buck that extra penny penny, they
may exaggerate something, they may provide you a guarantee that
doesn't really exist. If you go to set another country in this
country, you can't really do that as much they do it in more clever
ways. Right? For example, you know, these pyramid schemes, where
you have to be worried about them, a lot of people come, there's a
lot of pyramid schemes, what you have to realize with these pyramid
schemes right now, and anything that just seems too good to be
true, is that there are two types. One is the type in which the
transaction is haram. Because you're maybe buying something, and
you're maybe giving providing an investment into something and
you're getting interest back. So the actual dealing is haram from a
trade perspective. But there are many others that are not like
that, if you scrutinize the actual deal, you are getting something in
return, right for what you're paying. So from a transaction
perspective is halal. But it's still not a wise move, because
what it's playing on is your greed. Everybody has greed in them
unless it's balanced. So what happens is that when you see that,
I'm going to buy something, you pay this much, you'll get this
much. And if you then reinvest the money, then we'll give you this
much. So it's a straightforward deal. But the problem here is like
I spoke to somebody recently who asked me a question about this. I
said, Have you made any money? He says, it looks legit. Have you
made any money? I said, he says not yet because I'm just
reinvesting everything back into it. Right. So the, the what
they're playing on is your greed. So you just reinvest everything.
And then eventually after a few months, when you think you've got
a lot of deposit, or a lot of acid, it's false. It's gone. So
Halal transaction, but deception. You understand? These are the
different ways that's why the prophets Allah, some said you
don't do this kind of thing.
The amazing thing about Rasulullah sallallahu sallam was that
you had
Abdullahi normobaric, one of the great Muhaddith in
the area that he lived in, all the houses were the same price. They
all you know the same kind of houses on the same price. Now in
those days, so let's just imagine that every single house was 100
dinars.
There was a Jewish man who lived next to the Abdullah hymnal
Mobarak and
he was going to sell his
House, he puts his price at 200 dinners. So everybody goes to him
says, What are you doing? Everybody knows that the houses in
this area are just 100 dinars. It wasn't London, obviously. Right?
They're all 100 dinner. So how are you thinking that you ever gonna
make 200 dinars from this? You crazy or what? It says? No, I
understand that the house is 100 dinars. But this is a very special
location. This is you get to be a neighbor of underlying normobaric.
And people will pay a premium for that.
That's how believers were in those days. That's how believers who
took this mercy of Rasulullah sallallahu Sallam and manifested
it, that's how it was in those days. These are after the time of
the sahaba. That's what we need today. For example,
has an basally Rahim Allah.
Somebody came into his house, he wouldn't invite anybody into his
house. One day somebody came in and there was a stench. Like
what's going on here? What is this real bad smell coming from?
So he wouldn't mention first. But eventually what he discovered was
that it was the next door gaze gutter that was seeping into his
house. But he didn't want to go and tell him off. He didn't want
to admonish him. He didn't want to trouble him. So he was living with
that. He was living with that. I mean, that's still second century,
first century second century. In the Indian subcontinent, there was
a big scholar.
His name was Hussain, Mala Hussain, Ahmed Madani, right, he
had moved to within one hour, the news back in. He was part of the
freedom movement against the British at the time. He was in an
Indian train. Now, I don't know if you've traveled in Indian trains.
And I'm sure Pakistan trains are probably the same. Right, but
there's a hole in the ground. The toilet is a hole in the ground,
and it just falls on the track. Right. And the water in there is
not always you know, there's not enough water in the way from
Nigeria. I don't know how the trains are there. So I can't
comment. Right? But I don't know I don't expect it to be.
Oh, well, Masha, Allah, Allah, that's a good, good news and the
Rila.
Anyway, so
he is behind a Hindu individual. Right. He's behind the Hindu
individual who goes into the toilet and comes out very fast
as how you know, the guy really wanted to go, but he goes on and
he's out instantly what's going on here. So then when he moved out,
he realized it then he then Maulana Hussain Muhammad Madani
Sheikh, he went inside. And he realized that, you know, it would
make you forget,
we went to a We visited a particular country, somewhere in
the world recently, and one of the brothers who was with us, he
didn't use the toilet for one and a half days. Because it's
difficult, right? It makes you forget. So when he saw all of
that, what he did was he stayed in there for a long time comes back
out, goes to that Hindu man, he says, the toilets ready for you?
He says, No, I don't want to use it. He says, no, no, it's ready
for you. So he went, it cleaned it all for the individual. Now what
would you and I have done? This is what the prophets Allah Larson
would have taught us to do. So we can go on about how great the
prophets, Allah somebody is, and tell the whole world about it.
Really, at the end of the day, until we don't implement it in our
own lives. It doesn't make a difference. words, actions speak
louder than words, people want to see action. That's what people
benefit from.
Generally, what happens in our case, is that you've got people
who
are messing around in their work, they're coming up late, they're
going off early. And then you know, they want their rights. It's
my prayer time, I want to be able to pray. I've got a legal right in
this country to do so. You're messing around in the morning,
you're leaving early in the evening, then you want prayer time
as well. You think people are gonna like that?
This is what people do. They when it comes to the rights is fine
when it comes to the other person's right. Not a problem.
That's why I've got so many stories where if you are a good
worker, people will give you your right, yes, you've got a few
ultimately, racist people who will never see the truth but majority
of people are decent people outside in CERN where Abdullah
Hassan, the in Sun is a servant is a sucker for Exxon for good for
good deeds for favors. So if you do a favor to somebody, they will
favor you. I'll give you a simple example A friend of mine.
He was
he had an interview with a housing association because he knows the
particular type of software for housing associations. So he had
his interview
View. And then he asked him that, look, I've got an issue. He came
with good recommendations and so on that I need to pray. And for
that I need a place to pray privacy. So they said, Okay, look,
we've never had this experience before this demand before, give us
some days to work this out. They must have gone done their studies
and research and everything. And then the next time he met them,
they had a response. He said, Okay, next door is a hotel, there
was a hotel next door, what we've done is we will hire a room for
you for the whole year. You can go there anytime, and you can pray.
Now.
He said, there's no need to hire a room. I just need a small screen
space. So they found a storeroom, put a carpet in there for him. And
he's allowed to pray in there now. So now, if you are fair, and you
are just, you have the prophetic character in you, people will see
that. That's what they'll see.
I had another friend.
He was part of our Masjid committee. This was in America
when I was on a Monday. And he was a very good worker, he would take
Friday's off after Joomla from Joomla to the evening, he would
take it off. But that was with agreement with them because he
would work extra on all the days and he was very punctual. I knew
he was a very punctual man, he would work extra on those days,
they will help you do his projects. They were very happy
with him. The other thing was that he would not go to their annual
general meetings, because they served wine there.
Right? They served wine. So for two years or three years, he
missed the annual general meeting, but he was a top
engineer with them superconductor technologies at the time, right,
relatively new field time and cell phones were coming out in those
days. Right? So anyway,
one year, then his supervisor comes to him and he says, you
know, we've got an AGM next week or in two weeks, and I want you to
attend. He says, Look, you know, my issue, I can't attend because
there's liquor being served wine being served. They said, don't
worry about that. We've had a change of policy in our AGM, they
will not serve liquor anymore.
Now, if you want to demand all that, and you're slacking off in
your work, and you don't do a good job anyway, and they are a
liability, then you ask for your rights, where you're going to get
them. Show value for us show that you're different the way believe
it should be if they are true representatives of Rasulullah
Rahmatullah. I mean, the way I see that is that when he comes into
the room, it's just like, he's come with a cool breeze, it's like
a cool breeze just suddenly come into the room. And everybody just
takes a nice long breath and thinks, well,
this person has come. That's how believers should be 101.7 or 8
billion of us in the world.
If that's what we can be, then we will shed that terrorists label.
Because unfortunately, we have people among us who create mess,
they go to Allah, and they leave us to clear up after them. It's a
sad case. It's a sad case, we need true representation to counter all
the aggression that's in the media. And you can go on and go on
about it and say it with your tongue. The prophets, Allah was
like this, and don't abuse him, and he was not a *, and he
was not this and he was not that. Let's show them what it is. Now, I
know that this is a very difficult task. But somebody needs to say,
say just a reminder, if we can just change something.
Let's do it for the Prophet sallallahu Sallam that is
emulating him, and you will see the baraka in your life. For
example.
As a person who had
he hired a car
after his journey, he discovered that he was supposed to be charged
this much. There was some issue or something with the cost so they
were going to refund him a certain amount. They refunded him about
$20 Extra 15 pounds extra. Now, how would you take that into
consider? How would you deal with that?
I got $15 Extra 5015 pounds extra on my credit card as a refund.
They were only supposed to give me maybe 20 pounds, they gave me 35
pounds. How would you deal with that? What would our response be?
We think it's their problem they give it maybe they're just giving
me a bonus for my hassle. That's the way we think right selfishly.
Now, the way you should think, is if they had overcharged me 15
pounds, what would I have done? But I say that's okay. Right?
Generally say no, that's not okay. So just as you would not like to
be deceived, well, why deceive others? So he called up a he
called the company and he says, Look, you know, you're giving me
extra. What? You know, please, how do I get it back to you? Oh, yeah,
that was an oversight.
That was a mistake. It's okay. You can have that. Do you have the
right to give me that?
Do you have the right to give me that? He said, Yeah, we've got
manager, you know, we've got, we've had it approved from the
manager, we can do this okay for us a
lot of times what happens is I went into a shop once supermarket,
bought a trolley full of stuff come outside, and I realized that
she hadn't charged me for something. Now again, she forgot.
What's the big deal? Bismillah, right. No. Love your hair. Luma
LOM Ramos la Hinamatsuri in Illa, BTV and FC, a person's wealth is
not halal for you.
Unless it has his heart's content for you. Now here, it gets a bit
complicated because you go back, there's a big queue. And you go,
you haven't charged me for this tin or this kind of food. And she
is busy.
Or it's okay, take it it's all right. No problem. Does she have
the right to do that? Is it her dad's business? Maybe they've got
a policy you have to ask is it gets a bit complicated, you could
take them to the other place, you know the customer service, say
look, if this is your policy, then fine, I don't mind I'll keep it
don't mind something free. But if it's yours, then you should have
it. We should just need to be fair, these are simple examples.
These are simple examples. There are bigger examples of this. And
this is how we should teach our children to be fair as well. May
Allah subhanaw taala give us the Tofik Allah subhanaw taala give us
