Abdur Rahman ibn Yusuf Mangera – The Message from God
AI: Summary ©
The title "Returnsuran" in Arabic language is a reference to the generation of the Iranian people and is not commonly taught in schools. The language is widely used in writing, including its complexity, multiple words, and various meanings. The success of the Quran in the Middle East has been effective in communicating with people and reducing sensitivity and emotions, and the title "has been written" can be used to describe actions and ideas. The importance of reading the Quran and finding words that bring together words and phrases is also discussed.

What the Quran with the Quran did Allah subhanaw taala he revealed
such a Quran that was neither poetry. It did not fit the scale
of poetry. You know the conventions of poetry, it did not
fit that it did not fit the normal criteria of prose, which is normal
writing, neither did it fit completely. sermons. So, the Arabs
number one, they're completely confused and astonished. What is
this style?
There's no way a human can write this because humans would have
written according to one of the two or three styles that were
already conventional. So what kind of new style is this? Where did

So firstly before I discuss specific aspects regarding the
Quran, I want to say that
if you go to certain boroughs of London, London has over a million
Muslims. And if you go to certain boroughs of London, for example,
Hackney
I think in Hackney alone, there's probably 1000 hoofers. If you go
to New Hampshire, there's probably 1000 roofers there and it's
probably a few others. And in sha Allah, this burr is catching up.
And in sha Allah very soon they will be hundreds and then 1000 in
sha Allah who fires and half is of the Quran.
So not every bearer is the same. But the reason why insha Allah you
have this now is because not only do you have the Imams that you've
called from other places like Imam Anis etc. You have also given
sacrifice, to send your own children
like Mala Salman and the other the OMA that you have.
So that they are born here, they've gone and studied and now
mashallah they are doing additional work. This is the only
way that the communities can prosper here. You can tell when a
community has matured when a community has matured, when they
have hips classes,
you can tell that a community has matured when they can produce half
is when they can have graduations. There's a lot of communities they
don't
they don't prepare a single harvest. Why? Because there's no
hips class, most likely because they're most likely more
interested in school and Alhamdulillah many of these other
communities have shown us that you can get the best of both worlds.
In so many communities we have many who first of the Quran not
just prefers Baroda ma who have also
either before or after achieved major degrees or PhDs. So we have
to remember that you don't have to just focus on one way you can get
the best of both worlds. Mashallah, today there are some
families where every single boy within that family of five or six
brothers and sisters and all of their children, all the boys in
that family a half is of the Quran. There's also some cases
where nearly all the girls are half is of the Quran as well.
Now, don't say that this is something that my parents or my
parents family or my forefathers never did, we never had a harvest
in the family, change it, make it such that now from now on.
Inshallah, your generations will have Hibs and memorization of the
Quran and you will see the blessing of the Quran in your
families then. So that's why I'm congratulating this community that
will Hamdulillah you have been able to graduate over 30 Coface so
far, and that means that this is a mature community in terms of the
Islamic aspects and may Allah subhanaw taala only increase it a
lot more 53 Who first Mashallah. So now, Allah subhanahu Uttara
has revealed this Quran to us and we know that anyway, right? So
what do I want to talk to you about today? When Allah subhanaw
taala revealed this Quran He revealed it in Arabic.
So one of the major aspects of the Quran is the error
Big is revealed in it's a very special Arabic, before Islam
before the Quran was revealed,
the people of the people of Arabia, the Meccans, the Quraysh,
etc. They prided themselves of being able to speak very
effectively. That's why they used to call themselves Arab. Arab
comes from the concept of articulation, the ability to
effectively say what's in your hearts in a very, very clear
manner. They were so proud of their language. Because the
language is very broad. It's very extensive. They have multiple
words for different degrees and different levels of the same idea.
Multiple words for the same objects, for example, to use in
different ways. They'll have a difference of word for somebody
sitting. Why do you need difference of words, if the person
was lying down and he sat, that's a different word to if you sat
from standing,
it is so specific that from the choice of each of those words, you
get a lot more than just, he's sitting, oh, he sat up from lying
down, and now he's sitting, or he sat down from standing up. This is
just a simple idea for love, for example, over 28 terms for the
stages of love, and so on. This is not the time to go into that and
bore you with the details. But just to give you an idea. Now, the
highest level of Arabic in those days were was usually portrayed
and exhibited in poetry. So they used to have in those days, there
weren't many written books at all, because there wasn't much of a
tradition of writing. So there weren't many written books.
However, they used to be sermons. This is where sermonize is used to
give sermons and exhort people to do something or not to do
something. That's where they would use their language, and a higher
form of language was used in their poetry. Poetry usually carries the
highest form of any language because it's short, filled with
meaning. And the best poet is usually the one that can say
something in a very short, beautiful way and have multiple
meanings inside it. That's what good poetry is supposed to be good
poetry is not just rhyme, though they used to make it rhyme as
well.
What the Quran with the Quran did Allah subhanaw taala he reveals
such a Quran that was neither poetry, it did not fit the scale
of poetry, you know, the conventions of poetry, it did not
fit that it did not fit the normal criteria of prose, which is normal
writing, neither did it fit completely. sermons. So the Arabs
number one, they're completely confused and astonished. What is
this style?
There's no way a human can write this because humans would have
written according to one of the two or three styles that were
already conventional. So what kind of new style is this? Where did
they get this from?
The Quran has a poetic element. The Quran has a prose element, a
sermonizing element nussey. Her element, exhortation element,
commanding element, prohibiting element, he's got all of these
different things, and they just, they didn't want to say it, except
the ones who believed and who were convinced by the Quran they became
Muslim, then of course, they realize it's from Allah anyway.
But the starting point is this. Humans can't do this. They tried
to say it's just poetry. But then the best of their poets, the
experts said, This doesn't sound like poetry. Well, ma who will be
Coaly share Cadila moto minimoon, whether it be codec in Karela Mata
the Quran, that Allah says, when he Rhaegar when he when he said
those words are Omar the Allahu Anhu had actually said
Allah Subhana 10 Zulu Mirabella Allah me, it's a revelation from
the lords of the worlds. So that was one of the ways that they
captured the people. Now that might not be relevant for us
unless we learn Arabic. Does that mean it's a wasted idea? No. You
needed that initial group to become convinced and they were
mashallah these people were rough, tough people. Right. The Qureshi
tribes. One of the reasons why that area was chosen was because
Obama had mentioned number one, it's a very harsh climate. So
those people if they chosen to carry the message, they could then
travel anywhere in the world, and they'll be fine because most
likely anywhere would not be as tough climate with that heat, and
the sand and the desert and the mountains, and they could they
could find it beneficial anywhere else they could deal with it. That
was number one. Number two, the language was a very
powerful language. That's why as I said they call themselves out. And
they call everybody else IgM. And you know, urgent. IgM means urgent
means dumbness, the inability to express your thoughts. So they
reckoned everybody else couldn't express their thoughts. So
although they were a wild, they were wild factions. And you had
the Romans to the north and south and you had the Persians to the
east, they still felt themselves superior in many ways, and they
were very stubborn about this. So when Allah subhanaw taala revealed
the Quran, and then Allah challenged them because they were
not willing to listen. So Allah subhanho wa Taala challenged them
to produce 10 sewers.
They couldn't do that Allah challenge them to produce one
surah. They were unable to do that. Now Now think about this,
they were unable to do that, despite the fact that they had the
best Arabic. Nowhere in history has anybody had better Arabic than
at that time, that was the peak of their eloquence, the peak of the
Arab civilization in the sense of language. They had multiple good
speakers, right? They had multiple people, poets, and other surmises,
to be able to produce good Arabic experts. They all got together,
they couldn't do anything. None of them could produce the like of it.
They tried, they did try. Now this This is despite the fact that they
were they had enmity towards Islam. They wanted to produce
something. Now one is that you don't want to produce nobody
bothers taking up the challenge. No, they took up the challenge
because they had to, because the Quran was telling them things,
condemning them. So they had to respond. Despite that they could
not come with a response. They could not come up with a response.
So that is one way that the Quran is a miracle, because of its
language. But that's not the only way it's a miracle. There are
multiple ways, multiple ways it is a miracle. Right? So for those who
don't understand Arabic and who don't appreciate this,
you know, how does it affect you? It doesn't necessarily except that
you can just say that's amazing, right? However, there are multiple
other ways the Quran is a miracle which we don't have time to go
into. The Quran is a miracle based on many things that the Prophet
salallahu Alaihe Salam said,
and what Allah subhanaw taala said in the Quran, that has only become
true later on, or has become more true and revealed later on. Allah
said something, and these things became a reality. Some years
later, Allah says, Oliva Tea Room.
Rome in the time of the Prophet salallahu Salam, the Romans were
defeated by the Persians. But Allah subhanaw taala says, In the
Surah, Surah, two room, whatever your room fee additional Earth
in a very short while, they're going to become the dominators.
And that's exactly what happens. As a multiverse This is not the
time to go into these prophecies because we've got a very short
amount of time. So despite the fact that
the Quran is in Arabic, for us, there's multiple ways that the
Quran is a miracle, the multiple ways the Quran is a miracle. So
they remained completely defeated, they were unable to present
something and that is why Allah subhanho wa Taala finally said,
that if the jinn and the insan the human beings were to come
together, love which the marital genuine ensue, Allah Yeah, to be
if they were able to even come together, join with each other,
congregate together to try to produce something like the Quran,
they would not be able to do so the Quran just finally said that
and nobody's been able to produce anything like it right.
Now, one of the things about this is
the Djinn they heard the Quran and Subhan Allah Allah subhanaw taala
has mentioned the whole story of that in more than one place in the
Quran, but especially in Surah Turgeon when the jinn heard the
Quran, they were astonished about this. And they say in summer in
Quran and algebra, we've heard an amazing astonishing Quran yeah de
la Rushdie which guides to which which shows the people towards
guidance
for our Manabi and we have become followers we have we have believed
we have become believers. What a new Sheikah Rabina haha, and we're
never going to associate anybody with Allah subhanaw taala they
were immediately affected, many of them were immediately affected.
Now Hamdulillah we have the Quran
we have the Quran, Allah subhanaw taala has sent us the Quran right?
Everybody has the Quran in the house. In fact now
You can have it as an app, you can be carrying it all the time.
So now the question is very simple. Allah has sent you a
message, have you read it yet?
I don't mean reading it when you just finish a Quran by reading,
for example, in Ramadan, or otherwise. I mean, have you read
it to understand what your Lord wants to tell us? He is our
Creator, He is our God, He has sent this as a message is not just
something beautiful. He sent it as a message. Have we read the
message? You know, there's been occasions when I get very busy,
and I've received messages even from important people, and I have
not been able to read it. And then I get a call from that person.
After three days, have you read my message, and I feel so
embarrassed. I know I received it. But really sorry. In fact, once I
was invited to a conference, or a big conference in another country,
and I had was not sure if I was going on, I told them, I will let
you know the date to book my tickets. They booked my ticket,
they sent me a message and I didn't read it because I thought I
was too busy. I thought this probably just some schedule
they're sending me. Then they sent me another message one day before,
and I checked, and then I realized that they sent me a message. They
had sent me a business class tickets. And it was Friday night.
And it was Saturday morning that I had to leave. And I had to contact
them. I said I'm really sorry, I can't do this. This is what you
get when you don't listen. And when you do not read people's
message WhatsApp messages, emails or whatever, Allah has sent us a
message it is sitting in your inbox, in your shells of your
house, on your phones, we're going to get to the hereafter after many
years and Allah is going to say that I sent you a message of who I
am what I want from you what I like you to do Did you read my
message and we're going to be so embarrassed that ya Allah I did
catch a random parts of your message when the Allah ma spoke
about it in Friday prayers and other times just random places
when autumn I'll talk about one verse or two verses but I never
got to read the whole thing. What an embarrassment that's going to
be
I feel guilty about this myself. Right? But so please mashallah
these who fossa big memorize the Quran, so I'm going to tell them
and everybody else get it. Quran translation in any language, and
there's multiple available whether it be in English, whether that be
in Tamil, right, whether that be in Urdu, whether that be in Pashto
for our brothers, right? Start reading it, even if it's one page
a day. And at least before we die, we want to read the whole thing.
And I guarantee you that you will get hooked.
Once you start reading you will find who Allah is what he's
telling you what he wants, what he likes, what he dislikes, at least
once in your life, read it, not to give fatwas not to become one of
the movies not to argue with people just to be inspired. What
is my God, my lord? My Allah saying to me, that's what I want
to know.
If not Abbas, and I believe you there is so much for the Quran.
You know the scholars if you see what they do, I'll give you an
example of one scholar of the Indian subcontinent Maulana Anwar
Shah Kashmiri Rahim Allah, he had got to such a level that
eventually in some Ramadan, he would just be reading one juice a
day, not to memorize it, not to repeat not to revise it, not to
understand its meaning he'd already gone beyond that, you know
where he was. He was just reading one juice a day in Ramadan to try
to figure out the effective communication of the Quran. The
Bulava of the Quran, the fossa of the Quran, the the specific way
that Allah has said whatever he has said, that is so effective.
And that is unchallengeable unparalleled. That's all he was
discussing. Just how why is this word used instead of that word.
And that is such an amazing when I mean, I know that's really far
ahead. But we've got the rest of our life, at least in Ramadan. And
during the year we read a page or two.
If you have sensitivity issues, if you have emotion issues, the Quran
is the shifa for all of that. You will find so many things to calm
your emotions down to calm your sensitivity tivities down Calm
your worries and your griefs and everything to find a way for them
to channel them in the right direction. Allah subhanaw taala
where you just read the Quran, and if you want to cry, that's where
you should cry. You don't cry for free for no reason. If you're
sensitive and you feel let down cry with the Quran you'll see the
benefit of it. If not, Abdullah Abdullah Abbas Radi Allahu Anhu he
says in the Quran who should June What for noon? Latin called the
Agile Abel. What are two Blaha to the Quran is multifaceted the
Quran
has multiple disciplines that it discusses multiple meanings of
single versus multiple ideas that can come multiple inspirations it
can give you its wonders will never end this as Latin called the
idea EBO it's one this will never end. And you can never reach the
end of it. There's always more. There's always more. There's
always one we haven't even started. Ibrahim, Adham Ibrahim,
no, I'm one of the great Olia of Allah. He said once I found I came
to meet this really pious person, lucky to be the minister, but this
really pious worshiper and devotee, and he wouldn't sleep at
night. Everybody said this guy doesn't sleep at nights. So I said
to him, Lima Latin and why don't you sleep? So he said, monotony
Agia Abel Curonian
Allah give us this say Suhana he says what prevents me from
sleeping are the wonders of the Quran. He starts reading he
probably you know, like the way we do. Let me just check my Twitter
or Facebook before I go to sleep. You know, let's check check the
latest tweets or latest news. And then it takes half an hour or one
hour and there's like, Oh man, look at this is one o'clock
already. I need to go early for work. They used to do that with
the Quran probably. So they start looking at it at nights and they
just can't help it. Oh, wow, look at that. Oh, that's another great
point. Look at that. Look at that. He says I can't sleep. As soon as
I start reading I find so many amazing things in the Quran that I
can't see. And this is not just from him.
Our good live normobaric one of the great modifiche Mujahideen
mashallah fuqaha amazing individual Rahim Allah he says
there was a person said to him, like why don't you sleep at night,
he says that the wonders of Quran just take away my sleep. Just the
way movies and Netflix do for us today. IG Supanova
right? Is another one said, you know, I look at one astonishing
idea. And I think okay, great, I'll sleep after he says no, then
another one appears and I have to read that one, I have to focus on
that one. That is the corner just start reading, you'll find your
own. Believe me, you start reading the Quran will start reading,
saying things to you directly. You can make it relevant to yourself.
Because the way Allah has composed Allah speeches actually, is it
it's alive, the Quran is alive with everybody. So when you read
it, and when I read the same page, I'll get a different reaction to
the realities of my life, whatever is going on in my life, I'll find
something in there for the whatever is going on in your life,
you will find something that is completely different for
everybody. Okay, there are obviously certain things that are
uniform across the board. But what you will get out of it may be very
different from what I get out of it, it'll be an inspiration like
that.
The other thing is that the Quran is so concise, it's only so many
pages, right? It's so concise, but the amount of meanings in the
animal. I mean, everybody has agreed that the amount of meanings
in the if anybody else was to try to convey those meanings, they
would have produced the book like 10 times the size of wall. But
what the Quran has been able to do is to
literally put it all in such a beautifully carefully selected
language, that it encompasses meanings, I know, these are all
claims that I'm making. These are all claims that I'm making, you
can agree with it or you can say, let me go and check it out. I
would suggest you go and check this out. You just start reading a
few pages then you will see when you start pondering how many
things come out of it for you.
It's one this will never end it's one this will never end. Now. We
don't have too much time. But in the in the moments I have left, I
want to just give you our open up one idea to you. And this is an
amazing idea. Many of us here don't understand Arabic right?
Don't understand the Quran. Is that correct? Yes. How many of you
understand the Arabic How many of you understand Arabic?
Okay, there's a very few like two three people, right? 234 people
from the whole congregation fine. I'm not I'm not making you guilty.
I'm just asking a question.
Those of you majority here who don't understand Arabic, do you
enjoy listening to the Quran even though you don't understand it?
You put on different readers and so on so forth. Why do you enjoy
listening to it? Is it that just because it's you know, your reason
is just because it's from God? I know. It doesn't sound good, but
I'm still gonna listen to is it that reason? Or does it actually
sound good, even though you don't understand it? That's the reason
right? For most people, they listen to it because it sounds
good. Of course, it comes from Allah but you don't listen to it
just for that reason. You listen to it, because yes, it's from
Allah. But he actually you are amazed by the sound. You have no
idea what he's saying. You might just pick up a few words, but you
don't know what he's saying. But you enjoy listening to us. Now can
you imagine for those people who understand the Quran
with the meaning along with the enjoyment of listening, so you
don't understand the Quran but you enjoy listening to can you imagine
if you understood the meaning by reading one
drive this point home, that we're missing something big, we're
missing a really big idea here.
Right? And I'm going to give you an example. You know, the Quran
part of its part of its effective delivery is not just the words,
it's chosen for the meaning, oh, this is such a carefully chosen
word. No other word, this is a claim no other word in any verse
could have been different and still portrayed the same idea.
This is the absolute best option that Allah has provided to give
those meanings. I could give you examples, but it'll take a long
time, right? That you can't take any verse and say, let me say this
way, I can say it in a shorter way, while still encompassing all
of those meanings. You can't this is it.
But not only is it that, this something, also the sound of it
also helps the meaning. So where it's a stern message, the sound of
it will sound Stern,
where it's reflective, the sound of the verse, the words the
endings will be reflective, where he wants to knock us a bit, the
sound will create a knocking sounds.
Okay, you know, you may have never thought about this. But the
wording that's used is intended in harmony with the message to
create. So So not only does the word give you an idea, not the
choice of it, the placement or all of that gives you the choice of
the word, the placement of the word, the order of the words, but
also the sound of the words helps you to understand the message
because it acts like a side thing. You know, for example, if there's
an event, they usually add, I mean, in modern videography, they
add, they make sure it's always moving, they add a bit of music,
that light all of that helps to send the message. Otherwise it's a
bit boring, they say, right? You understand? The Quran does this in
such a beautiful way. And I'll give you an example. So now take
one surah of the Quran surah al Qiyamah are we gonna be lurking in
a shape on your regime? Bismillah R Rahman r Rahim Now listen, learn
awkward seems to be a woman.
Well, of course the movie in epsilon
i accessible in

Bell you Riedel in loony if Jura mama Yes, aloo a year and a young

What was what did you see was unique about these verses? What do
you remember?
That was similar in all of these verses?
Did you hear that?
At the end, the right you did that? You missed that did you? Now
you know these first six verses. They're about one specific theme,
the Day of Judgment, what's going to a few things about the day of
judgment and how Allah has created the human beings and how Allah
subhanaw taala is capability is to bring even back your fingerprints.
So he talks about that then it changes theme to slightly
different and the wording changes the sound changes and you for
those who understand they will see that this matches the message. So
the first message is like this really important serious messages
to create to wake us up. Then after that Allah says fair either

What did you see as similar under the endings were our URL URL. So
that creates that reflective attitude. I don't have time to
give you the meaning and so on and so forth. But go and look at it
yourself and see where the theme changes. The sound will change for
example, versus the theme changes again. So look Belial ears, Nuala

Allah says, gala either Bella Hadid rakia workI lemon, raw,

How does that sound to you?
That rebounding sound that echoing sound sounds serious. And that's
the message that's given in there that somber note of that effect of
echo and coming back at you, that carries the message, the unique
message in those verses. Now it becomes a bit more reflective
again. So Allah subhanaw taala changes that again, further.
Sadako Wallah. So what can you guess? What that was? Some other

hopefully you understood what I'm saying. There are so much amazing
things in the Quran that we need to find that may Allah subhanaw
taala give us the ability to find them. So again, Allah has sent us
a message please let us not make it that we're embarrassed on the
day of judgment that we've never read it brothers and sisters make
sure you get a translation of the Quran after this and do it now Al
Hamdulillah these our students have become Hafiz of the Quran is
well can I have those books so I've got mashallah is wonderful
book as a as a gift for these brothers mashallah, you know, when
somebody is doing hymns of the Quran, especially when they're
nearly completing, you should give them gifts. You know, I shall tell
you why it's a bribe.
Because when your half is of the Quran, you can take how many
people agenda you can intercede for how many people for 10 people.
So who's going to be on your list of 10 people, you're going to take
the agenda?
Have you have you made your list yet?
Right. So I'm going to bribe you.
This book is an amine, it's called with the Quran by Sheikh Muhammad
Khalil al Hassan is one of the greatest kura Kharis of Egypt of
about 5060 years ago, and he just tells you, it's called with the
Quran mal Quran Inshallah, it will give you an idea of what you need
to do next, Inshallah, now that Allah has given you the gift of
memorizing the Quran, okay? So I'm going to give these to you and
read it. Okay, read it. And if you can write my name in your 10 and
move to this visa as well, I'll just ask for him. Right? Then
Inshallah, right that but you know what, I do something, I give them
some money, like, here's 10 pound, 20 pound or whatever it might,
they might just remember me Inshallah, I'm just maximizing my
opportunity to get into gender in sha Allah, may Allah subhanaw
taala take all of us. But listen, we need this in our families, you
can get the best of both worlds, make your children whatever, make
them half of the Quran as well. Right make them half is of the
Quran. They just have their brain in sha Allah. So I want to
congratulate mashallah that Assad is that the teachers, because
there's a lot of work. And I want to congratulate the parents
because, you know,
most children will need their parents support very few children
do it without and parents need a huge amount of support, it's not
easy. So I want to make dua for the parents, the teachers, the
committee members who facilitate this, and the contributors overall
who contribute Allah accept all of us, Allah accept all of us and
make this a source of southern Nigeria and allow this to spread
far and wide. And all the other children who are not yet half his
man, you want to be a harvest of the Quran, right? Inshallah,
you're gonna be a harvest of the Quran. May Allah subhanho wa Taala
accept it. May Allah subhanho wa Taala accept our guests working
with Derawan and Al hamdu Lillahi Rabbil aalameen.
The point of a lecture is to encourage people to act to get
further an inspiration and encouragement, persuasion. The
next step is to actually start learning seriously to read books
to take on a subject of Islam and to understand all the subjects of
Islam at least at the basic level, so that we can become more aware
of what our deen wants from us. And that's why we started Rayyan
courses
so that you can actually take organize lectures on demand
whenever you have free time, especially, for example, the
Islamic essentials course that we have on the Islamic essentials
certificate which you take 20 Short modules and at the end of
that inshallah you will have gotten the basics of most of the
most important topics in Islam and you'll feel a lot more confident.
You don't have to leave lectures behind you can continue to live,
you know, to listen to lectures, but you need to have this more
sustained study as well just like a law here in Santa Monica, to
live record
