Right now we have a few days left for the month of Ramadan to begin.
We've just had Lila Tula Bara, the 15th of Shaban that just passed
and to see the connection between Leila toolbar or as they call it
should be Bharat and the 15th of Shaban just coming about 1415 days
before the month of Ramadan is to begin the way some of the orlimar
have explained this is that it's the it's the dawn of Ramadan, just
like before the sun actually rises and illuminates everything, there
is a small light that begins to shine because the sun, what it
does is that as it gets closer to the horizon, when it's about to,
to rise, when it's about 1518 degrees beneath the horizon, it
starts to give its light, it's the first of the sun's light comes
over the horizon. And that's called Dawn that's when Fajr time
comes in. So there's a bit of light that starts to appear and
slowly, slowly disliked. After the first instance of it is seen.
After the first thread of the donut scene, it begins to
continue. And it begins to spread until when the sun starts to come
up and it's fully come up then you have the full array of the sun
that comes in and then you get the full rays of the sun at noon time.
So similarly what you have is little Bara or the 15th of Shabbat
and that is when the dawn of Ramadan begins and it appears, and
from then on, it only gets closer and closer and you can see that
the mercies are just coming and just going to burst forth. The
mercies are going to burst forth the blessings are going to
suddenly envelope everything. When Ramadan comes in, it comes into
full bloom and the full rays of the sun come in just like the full
rays of the sun appear as soon as it's sunrise and illuminate the
entire world. Likewise when Ramadan. This is the case that it
will try to illuminate everybody's heart. Allah subhanho wa Taala
says in the Quran, when Allah who had the rule Illa dari salaam,
Allah subhanho wa Taala he calls he invites people to the abode of
peace, the abode of peace which is the eternal abode ABODE OF PEACE
it's such an abode that as soon as the people as soon as people will
enter paradise the angels will come from all around say salaam
Salaam and Salam on which means peace be upon your peace be upon
you, because now this will be true peace, after which there will be
no danger after which there will be no form of loss or any other
kind of setback that's agenda. Ramadan is the month in which
gender needs to be earned. If if from If gender can be earned in
any month it's in hajj, during village if a person is in hedge or
otherwise it's for Ramadan, not everybody can go for Hajj.
However, everybody can perform Ramadan because Ramadan comes to
everybody, whereas Hajj you have to go to it in Mecca, Makara, Rama
you have to get visas you have to have enough money you have to have
a certain type of ability etc. But when it comes to Ramadan, Ramadan
comes to you wherever you are. And the baraka are there, available
wherever you are. So that is why Allah subhanho wa Taala is saying
inviting us to the Dar Salam, this is the month to attain this Dar
Salam. When it comes to Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, how
would we tell what he would do differently during the month of
Ramadan? Because when you're fasting, you're just not eating.
But the Prophet sallallahu Sallam didn't eat much outside the month
of Ramadan anyway, you know, yes, he would have a meal. But those
meals would be would be sometimes and would not be regular meals
that he would have because a lot of the time he would just pass his
time with with dates and water. So what was it that was different in
the month of Ramadan, that you could see rasool Allah Allah as
I'm doing. It was very difficult to tell this you would assume
because outside the month of Ramadan, the prophets Allah
Lawson's worship was such that he would stand in these long night
vigils is tagit prayers, in which his feet would become swollen.
That was normal nights. That was the normal night prayer that he
would do and I shudder the Allahu Anhu says that, neither in Ramadan
nor outside of Ramadan as related by Mambo hurry with the Prophet
sallallahu some increased beyond 18 cards of tahajjud that was his
tahajjud regimen of throughout the year, whether in Ramadan or
outside Ramadan. So what would he do differently in the month of
Ramadan if that is what he was doing outside the month of Ramadan
to such a degree? So now there were three things
that he would do that you could tell that this was different now
that he was spending the Ramadan there was different. Number one,
he would increase even more in his worship, he would increase even
more in his worship, then what he would do on the normal days, and
then the normal days, his feet would swell. So you can imagine
what he would then be doing in the month of Ramadan where the only
way you could do extra in the month of Ramadan is to cut from
many other things, and to decrease many other things that you're
doing. So you have even more time for worship. Because if we're
speaking about an individual, like Rasulullah, sallallahu alayhi
salam who already had his time and well set out his timetable was
perfect in terms of what kind of time he would spend to worship
Allah subhanho wa taala. So then when it comes to the month of
Ramadan, you can imagine that he would then be decreasing something
else. And that would obviously be decreasing. In terms of other
activities that were not as important to give more time to
them in Ramadan, for example, it's known that sooner Allah salAllahu
alayhi wa sallam would read extra Quran in the month of Ramadan
because they would actually have the door, they would actually have
their review and revision of the Quran with Gibreel Alayhis Salam.
So he would read to Gibreel Ali salaam, all that was revealed
until then. So the one thing was definitely that he would do even
more worship number to solder cards, he was extremely generous
during the month of Ramadan, he would give so much more during the
month of Ramadan. In fact, he mentions that he would be like the
wind, like it's just spread everywhere he would get just give
wherever he needed to give wherever people needed, he would
spend a lot during the month of Ramadan, and especially when he
would meet with Jibreel Alayhis Salam he was in this extra state
of happiness, extra state of excitement, and he would give even
more so his sadaqat and his charity would increase during the
month of Ramadan. So when one is worship, and number two is his
charity. And number three, the thing that would be increased
during the month of Ramadan was to invoke Allah subhanaw taala as
mercy even more than in other months, that means crying in front
of Allah subhanaw taala. And asking Allah subhanaw taala,
whatever does you have. So these are the three things that we also
want to focus on. We also want to focus extra on this is taking into
consideration already we are assuming that we're already
fulfilling our Ferrari, we're already doing the basics that we
need to be doing. But when it comes to the month of Ramadan, we
have we're going to abstain from the Haram even more, abstain from
mundane activities, etc. And we're going to increase in our worship.
When we say we have to increase in our worship, we're clearly going
to have to decrease many of our mundane activities or useless
activities, frivolous things that we do and waste our time and that
is going to be extremely insha Allah beneficial if we do that. So
this is the month that I could probably say it's the month in
which we should
just get ready and be prepared for a grueling month. What that means
is, we want to give our entire self in this month, it's going to
be a grueling journey. Let us get set up for it. That's why we have
enough planning for it. There's a dua which we which which is
related that we should, that we are asking for blessings, during
the month of Shaban and of Rajab, so that we can get many things out
of the way that we may need to do in the month of Ramadan so we get
it done beforehand, planning and preparation etc.
So that when Ramadan comes you have full force we can we can do
the worship that we have. We have everything ready. So the big
question that many of the women are asking each other right now
and I'm going to ask all of you sisters there as well is Have you
prepared? Have you done your Ramadan preparation?
Have you done your Ramadan preparation? Now you're going to
be wondering what kind of preparation we're speaking about.
And I'm asking, have you made your samosas Have you made your spring
rolls? Have you made your moons and all these other weird things
that people make during this month of Ramadan, the extra Baraka that
you get during this month of Ramadan, people become even more
creative. So I'm hoping that you've all done your preparation,
where you've sat with your, with your family members, and you've
sat down and you know, filled all those muscles. And now they're in
the freezer, and make sure that you put them properly so that they
don't get dried out in the freezer. And you know, all of
these are preparations that we do for the month of Ramadan so that
you don't have to do it in the month of Ramadan. So from one
perspective, this is actually good. Except that, you know, if
that's the only preparation we're making for Ramadan, it tells us
two things. One is that we are concerned about Ramadan, and we
don't want to do all of these activities during the month of
Ramadan. So the food is ready for us to fry and, you know, make
ourselves more unhealthy in the month of Ramadan. So it's already
ready. So we're preparing at least we're thinking about it. But then
on the other hand, it tells us that if that's the only thing that
we're preparing for Ramadan
And we're not really worried about any other aspects of Ramadan, then
that's something that we need to reflect upon that if we're worried
about our food that that is ready for our Ramadan and we're doing it
now because it's going to be very hard to it's going to you know,
we're going to be very tired because we're going to be fasting
during the month of Ramadan, then we do it now. But then shouldn't
we thinking about planning everything else? How much Quran Do
you think I'm going to spend during the you know, my time
during doing during this month of Ramadan? You know, what else am I
going to do during this month of Ramadan? How am I going to
schedule my day so that I can make sure that I'm going to do Tahajjud
prayer every single night of this Ramadan this time, you know,
because last year, maybe I did it 15 days or 10 days or two days.
This year, I want to make sure that every single night that I can
pray, I'm going to be doing at least two to four gods of of the
Hajj prayer, I want to make sure that I do this every single time
during during this month, I want to make sure that I finished this
many Quran, I want to make sure that I read this Tafseer I reflect
on this many sewers, or that I memorize that I memorize this many
sources. Inshallah, I will be talking about that a bit more
later. But that's the kind of preparation that's important. So I
hope that we do all types of preparation because the successful
one is the one who does preparation on every front, not
the one who does preparation of some aspects, gets into the month
of Ramadan and then realizes that I should have also prepared for
this, I should have also prepared for this. The one who is the best
prepared will win and may Allah subhanaw taala make us of those
who are the most well prepared. So that was the way of Rasulullah
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that he was he would focus on these
three things. Now what that tells us that this was some kind of
grueling journey. It was extra effort. It was exerting oneself
during this month of Ramadan. But clearly the reason why this was
happening is because the prophets Allah, Lord ism knew that there
was some great achievements to be made. This was the time when these
achievements had to be made. So we are going to be thinking that this
is the time like no other way we have to exert our bodies, our
mind, our heart, our soul, and every aspect of us to to please
Allah subhanaw taala for the sake of Allah subhanho wa Taala that's
why the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, when sama Ramadan
Iman and YT Serban warfare Allah Who Mata cardamom in them be
whoever first during the month of Ramadan with iman and the sub
anticipating the pleasure of Allah and the reward of Allah. So
whenever we're fasting, whenever we're doing something, we know
we're doing it for Allah, we're not just doing it as a tradition,
because everybody else is doing it or because we'd seem really,
really sinful if we didn't fast or because it's just a tradition in
our family, and I've been fasting since I've been seven years old or
10 years old. No, that's not the reason we're connecting it to
Allah subhanho wa taala. That's why that is the intention we
should have and the prophets Allah some then said, if somebody fasts
this way with iman and empty sob, then every previous sin of this is
forgiven. So that's the kind of exertion we need to give during
this month of Ramadan.
What we have to realize is that this is there has to be some times
in our life, that then we can recall on the Day of Judgment,
when we caused and forced our eyes to stay awake, and to stay open,
so that we could worship Allah subhanho wa Taala we keep our eyes
open nowadays, in many cases, to watch a movie to watch a football
highlight to watch this, to watch that, to stay up with friends. Let
us also in our record book, have those deeds recorded that we
stayed awake for the sake of Allah subhanaw taala Ramadan is the time
when that happens when we destabilize in form the form of
our sleep as well. So that let us have that put into our record,
that we have also Alhamdulillah stayed awake for the sake of our
Lord. And on the Day of Judgment, that will be the great things what
we have to realize is that those eyes that would have stayed up in
this world and stayed open for the sake of Allah subhanaw taala they
will sleep a beautiful and asleep sleep, a sweet sleep in their in
their grave, they would sleep a beautiful and a sweet sleep in the
grave. And that is what we want. When you know when when you have
your your kin when we have full conviction within us that that is
going to happen in the grave for us. That if we if we stay up now
for the sake of Allah subhanaw taala we connect that with our
sleep in the grave as the Prophet sallallahu sallam said that when a
good person comes into the grave, the angel will come and say you
sleep in this beautiful sleep, like the sleep of a bride who has
gone to sleep knowing that her most beloved is going to wake her
up. That's the only person that will be waking. Imagine that kind
of pleasure that you go to sleep with. That's the kind of sleep
that will come in our grave as long as we have as long as we do
that. The other benefit of staying awake. The other benefit of
staying awake is that
Beyond that, on the Day of Judgment, those eyes that have
stayed awake for the sake of Allah subhanaw taala will be able to see
Allah subhanaw taala will be given the Beatific Vision, will will see
Allah subhanaw taala and all of his transcendence, they will be
able to see Almighty Allah subhanaw taala will be will be one
of the greatest things that they will ever have beyond all of the
bounties, that a person will be given in Jannah, Allah subhanho wa
Taala when he will manifest himself and the people of Jannah,
those who have exerted themselves in the world will see him they
will think that there is no other bounty in Jannah that is greater
than them. May Allah subhanaw taala grant us that beauty vision.
Ramadan is a time which is the special season you could consider.
This is another way of looking at it when you have business people.
When somebody who was studying in Medina University, he told me that
the way to basically get your expenses is that during the Hajj
season, we go and do some business, we go and sell something
or whatever, and we make enough money then to survive as students
for the rest of the year, likewise, in these countries is
genuinely during Christmas time, holiday time, New Year's time
where they make lots of money, and they're looking forward to that.
So they will get extra supplies and they will try to meet the
demand, they will try to get they will try to have enough staff on
hand, they will spend the managers themselves the owners of
businesses etc, they will know that I need to this is the most
difficult time of my year, but it is the most profitable time. So
they are willing to go into this grueling season. And stay awake,
change the course of the course of the the schedule of their food,
they sometimes go without food, they don't have food on time, they
don't see their children, they don't see their families, and they
go and they they're working to make sure everything is going
smoothly. So the demand is being met, and the profits are coming
in. That is what they do. And the only reason they do this, if this
was to be the whole year round, they would not do this, because
that would be not a natural life, you know, for them to be just
doing this, there's no natural light for that, you know, because
you you in this world, you're living a life, especially when
it's all about money. And all it's about is excitement and enjoyment
afterwards. Now, they will do this in these particular seasons for
the three weeks or two weeks or one week here two weeks there. So
that they can benefit from it afterwards. They know they make a
lot of money during this time. So they have to exert the effort,
they're willing to give all the sacrifices that they can, because
they think they're going to benefit afterwards. Now there is a
big question as to whether they are going to benefit from it
afterwards or not. Life may cut them short that death may be may
be coming in, and after death what is to come. That's another story
altogether. However, when it comes to the month of Ramadan, this is a
serious season where you will get certain profits, where you will
get profits that are definite, you will get profits which are
definite because these profits are going to come to us in the
hereafter anyway, there's no doubt about it, you're going to get
these profits, whether your life in this world is cut short or not.
The benefits of this are to be reached in Jannah. And the profits
are huge. There's no way that you could lose. Because what happens
in this world sometimes is that you make a lot of profits,
somebody puts a lawsuit on you, there's a recall of some sort,
something weird happens, the tax guys come in or this that or the
other and suddenly you may lose all your profit. And at the end of
the day, you may not benefit from it at the end of your life.
Despite all the work that you've done in the earlier times of your
life. You may become sick, you may become ill, and you may not be
able to enjoy the money that you have made. But we know for certain
that in general, everybody is going to be of a mature age of
3033 Approximately, they're going to enjoy what they have reaped,
they're going to see Allah subhanho wa Taala the grave is
going to be a garden of paradise. This is if you do the work in this
world. So this is the season where we just need to go all out
everybody needs to become a businessman during this time, they
need to act like businessmen who understand the profits that are
being gained. This is the way because these are certain prophets
and these are definite and we will definitely gain the benefit of
them. Another thing is that in Ramadan it's a time to gain as
many deeds as possible and have as many sins forgiven as possible.
That is what the season is all about. Now, let's not just make
this a Ramadan and a fast from food and drink and sexual
*. But let us make this a fast for our eyes, a fast for
our ears, a fast for our hands, a fast for our tongues and a fast
for every part of our body. So we are fasting from mind to heart,
from every pore of our body from head to toe From head to toe, we
are fasting make this a facet of everything which means that we are
totally immersed in the love of Allah subhanho wa Taala in the
pursuit of his happiness and in His grace, that is what we want to
try to focus on. Let us not make this Ramadan, a Ramadan or fast in
which all we are fasting from is food drink and the Haram things
that Allah subhanaw But make it from
everything and make it a very special regimen, we think that
it's for 30 days, we need to do this more than in any other time
of our life so that it's recorded for us in this way. That is why
the benefit of this will be that when a person is fasting from head
to toe in every aspect, then our heart which is the most important
part that is influenced by all of this, and then that governs our
self afterwards. It's very difficult for our heart to
overcome our self, if it's already corrupt. Ramadan is the month in
which Allah subhanaw taala tells us to avoid Halal things, and thus
also haram things more conclusively. So what then happens
is that the evil influences that come through different parts of
our body like our eyes, our ears, our tongues, to our heart, they
are stopped. But that's only going to happen if it's not just about
abstinence from food, drink and sexual *. But it's about
abstinence of the eyes from all haram and the tongue from
speaking, quarreling, arguing, disputing, speaking, back,
cursing, and all of these things. And likewise, the ears from
everything. Likewise, the eyes, keep the TV off, stop YouTube,
even try to abstain from sending YouTube videos of even something
good sometimes during the month of Ramadan. Because really people no
enough, really, I think most people know enough as to do what
to do during the month of Ramadan. There are enough talks that go
around before Ramadan, enough YouTube videos, et cetera, et
cetera, using why shouldn't we send YouTube videos unless it's
very important, very effective, don't go around sending YouTube
videos either during the month of Ramadan. Why? Because you're going
to force people to go onto YouTube for this video. And then after
that the fitna is there to see everything else that's there as
well. So then it's just spends time it just the time that is
spent during these things to try to cut away from everything. So
try to make it that our heart is not influenced by anything,
anything negative during this month of Ramadan, if we are going
to fast from every part of our body, then our hearts will be
protected when our hearts stay protected for 20 to 30 days in sha
Allah during this month of Ramadan. And then we start afresh
after Ramadan, we will be able to deal with the forces outside when
the shaytaan comes out. So in sha Allah, that is something that we
that is something that we need to ask Allah subhanaw taala to make
easy for us because that's the only way it's going to happen.
When a person fast from head to toe, what happens is that if that
is how the person has spent their entire day for the pleasure of
Allah subhanaw taala when the time comes for Iftar and the person
makes dua at Iftar time, and then does make dua at night those two
hours will be accepted. That's why the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam he said, Lissa, me for Hutton, Alyssa me for Hutton. For
the fasting person, there are two sources of happiness. There are
two sources of happiness. One is in the fit three. One is when he
when he breaks his fast that Maghrib time and the other one is
in the Laker era be he when he will meet his Lord. Now
both of these things the pros are awesome said let's saw him for the
fasting person know what is the criteria of this fasting person?
What is the description, the quality of this fasting person
because the prophets Allah lorrison Doesn't say, Lisa aiming
for every fasting for any fasting person, but he says list saw him
for the fasting person. Obviously, there's a criteria that most of us
have had in mind, there is a quality of this individual there
is a certain strength of this individual the practice of law
some had in mind to say for that particular type of fasting person
who does it properly, who's not just fasting from from drink, and
food, and so on. That person also gains happiness at Iftar time.
Because now the food mashallah is all they're smelling nicely and
everything like that, and believe me the first time that you have
that date, and you have that cold water or the milkshake or whatever
else that people do Iftar with, right, and the happiness that you
get after having stayed away from that is a definite happiness. But
the more you are a fasting person, the fasting person, there are more
sources of happiness that will be gained during the Iftar time. So
not only will you find satisfaction, happiness and glory,
when you do Iftar from the food itself, but more so spiritually
that your donors will also be accepted because you were a better
fasting person than a normal you are on a second degree of fasting
people, people you want a higher degree, I hope you understand what
I'm saying. So basically the basic fasting person, they're going to
benefit from the food that they get. So that really gives them a
lot of satisfaction. But the person who's fasted from
everything else when they do other except it Allah sends extra baraka
and Rama and then hopefully writes them to be cleared from the
hellfire, then that is another that's why the Prophet Sal awesome
then said that, on the Day of Judgment when they meet with the
Lord, there's going to be another satisfaction and that satisfaction
has to be for
The one who fasted spiritually as well as physically from from food
and drink, etc. So that's the kind of fast that we want. The
blessings of Ramadan are so intense. I'm just today I'm just
talking about some random aspects of Ramadan that I find to be very
important and inshallah that will hopefully should inspire us to
make the most of this month I'm trying to get to the spirituality
of the month, as opposed to the general virtues. I'm trying to get
to the spirituality, because I'm hoping that this Ramadan avila's
For us this Ramadan for us will be the best Ramadan that we've ever
done. Because we're going to try to make it a more spiritual
Ramadan by doing more than we've ever done before. By just tweaking
it. Sometimes it's not about moving more, it's about doing it
in the right way. And most of us, it's about connect most of it is
about connecting ourselves to Allah and having consciousness of
him. So, what happens then, is that what we have to realize is
that in the month of Ramadan, every moment of it is very potent,
every moment of it is has such a huge amount of Rama and mercy and
ability to, to change a person that every moment of it is
sufficient to make a flagrant sinner into the worry of Allah
subhanaw taala by just asking Allah subhanaw taala with that
sincerity is just the right time for it. It's the time when it's
being things are being given. Allah subhanaw taala has the doors
of paradise totally flung open, those mercy of flung open,
Hellfire is closed. So it's just very difficult to do otherwise.
It's the time in which
we can gain value for of Allah, we can get close to him if we ask him
if we ask him for himself if we try to connect ourselves for him,
when Allah sees a fasting person like that, and he has said himself
that fasting is for me and I will reward a person with that. The
rewards could be just lots of thurb and it could also be that
Allah subhanho wa Taala grants his marriage for grants is married to
these people. What happens during spring after a winter is that
that's when the flowers start to come to bloom. And as spring
progresses, the flowers start even, you know the flowers are in
their full bloom. There's nice smells coming from around and you
know you have the fragrance that the flowers are giving off the
fragrance is lush greenery and beauty and all of this is around
you. Similarly, when it comes to the month of mercy, the month of
Ramadan, it's like the season is in full bloom. You have the
fragrance you have Rama of Allah subhanaw taala, you have baraka
and blessings of Allah subhanho wa Taala they are in abundance all
around. The problem is that you might be saying, well, we don't
see this. Well, you see some aspects of it, you see some
aspects in the sense that you see that there's a lot of generosity
during this month of Ramadan, you see that people are willing to
donate much more during this month of Ramadan, you also see that you
yourselves can actually prepare more, be more creative in your
preparation of Iftar. During the month of Ramadan, you probably
cook certain things regularly during the month of Ramadan, which
you wouldn't do outside the month of Ramadan, even though you're
fasting. So Subhanallah you have all of this ability to do all of
these things. So these are some of the baraka that we actually see.
Imagine the baraka that we cannot see the Barakat of Rama and
blessing and mercy purification of our heart and Allah subhanaw taala
attention towards us, we have what we have to believe is that that is
there, it is available, especially tahajud time, if third time when
you make dua to Allah subhanaw taala the one who wants to have
his sins, the one the people who want their sins forgiven during
this time during this month, and who want to get close to Allah
subhanaw taala This is the golden opportunity. This is the golden
opportunity, you can say because everything is just their full,
just they're willing to be taken. And that's how Allah subhanaw
taala has made it for everybody. Our scholars, they always made
this a time when they would try to build themselves up and take as
much benefit from it as possible. Because like a person mentioned
that one Ramadan when he tried more than in any other Ramadan to
cry to Allah subhanaw taala make lots of DUA and just abstain from
haram as much as possible. He said one there was one year about two
three years ago where he benefited from him for about seven months.
So he stayed away from HoloLens for about seven months. Then after
that he found himself getting weak and slipping in another month.
When he worked hard he didn't work as hard as the previous month and
he said that the benefits got all worn out within about three
months. Then he said the third month he worked harder than even
in that first first month. And he noticed that in that time it took
him to about nine and a half to 10 months. Then he started seeing
himself slipping. So Ramadan is that time when to get as much as
possible because it will then make
You endure for the entire if you have bad deeds, etc. This is the
time to make Toba from them and to resolve and to ask Allah subhanho
wa taala. And to do enough good deeds so that the resilience of
that stays, the protection of it remains, and it wears off. It
wears off much more slowly than before. This is the opportunity
that Allah subhanaw taala gives us during this month.
So we have one scholar of the past, his name was Sheikh Abdullah
Abdul Qadir, Ribery, Rahima, hula, he was in the small village, in
the Indian subcontinent. And he is considered to be one of the great
scholars and Alia of these previous times, of these recent
times, when it came to the 29th of Shaban, he would call all of his
friends, family, whoever it was, and he would say that look,
Ramadan is coming in, and I'm taking leave from you. Inshallah,
if the, if I'm still alive after the month of Ramadan, then
Inshallah, then we can meet again, otherwise, you know, leave me to
myself. And for Ramadan, he would also give a bag to his secretary.
And he would say that any letters that come in during this month of
Ramadan, and when you just put them inside here, we are not going
to be able to read anything during during this month during this
month. Inshallah, if life remains, we will read them and take care of
them after the after the month of Ramadan finishes. And he would
basically say that this is a month, which you have to keep for
yourself, you have to be essentially what he's saying he
didn't say it. But essentially what he's saying is that this is a
month that you have to be selfish for yourself. This is not time,
not a time to go and entertain other people to you know, unless
it's extremely important. This is a time when it's not a time to go
and visit relatives, yes, you send them things, etc. But it's not a
time to sit and talk to people. There are many people who have
these traditions where they have Ramadan doubts and invitations.
And that probably is the worst day of Ramadan for them. Because
number one, the women of the house and even the men sometimes have to
prepare and cook for all of the people that they're calling number
one. Number two, they end up missing taraweeh on that day,
because you know, there's not there's not enough time between
Iftar and Teresa, then they just sit and many people don't even do
therapy on those days designed to different parts of the world. This
is exactly what happens. So this is not the time for this. This is
a very selfish moment between you and Allah to get as much as
possible. It's like I'm going to the sale, I don't care where you
come or not, I am going to just go and get all the bargains for
myself. Because when it comes to a bother, you have to give yourself
preference because on the Day of Judgment, that's what what's going
to happen. Of course, it's good to encourage others as well. But you
mustn't deprive yourself for the sake of somebody else. The way
that it works in Sharia is that you, the way it works in the world
is that give other people and deprive yourself. So if you've got
food, but somebody else is hungry, give them and deprive yourself,
when it comes to worship in this world, and good deeds, you're
supposed to go yourself and take them along with you. But you
should never give somebody else an opportunity of worship and you
deprive yourself. So for example, the other might have even
mentioned that if you're standing in the first off the first row in
the masjid, and there's somebody behind you don't you go back and
give them that opportunity to get there because there's more reward
in the verse. So according to many Allah, Ma, you, you should stick
to your place because you got there first, right? Because you're
going to get more reward there. So don't deprive yourself, yes, do
what you have to do and take people along with you if you can,
but don't get bogged down by them. And don't deprive yourself for the
sake of somebody else.
So the few things that we need to do, you know, we don't get letters
anymore, right. So it's not about letters, which are very, probably
very easy to not open. And to keep away, we have the problem is that
we've got a phone, you know, we have other things where it just
comes to us whether we like it or not. So that's much more
difficult. But the one resolution, if you realize that there's going
to be a benefit to be gained from this, then just, you know, just
tell everybody I'm not I'm not available during this month of
Ramadan, just don't entertain anything. If there's subscriptions
that you have unsubscribed for the month of Ramadan, just make a note
of where you are and just just unsubscribe for the month of
Ramadan. So you don't get any deal offers from these different you
know, these different places that you constantly get deals and
you're looking for these things in the sale items, et cetera, et
cetera, just cut down from all of these things, put a note on your
on your email saying sorry, you know, if I don't respond to you,
I'll try to respond, you know, whatever. But I can't respond to
you straight away. So make this very clear for this month,
especially the things that you know, are going to bog you down,
right, especially those kinds of things. Just Just stay away just
all these WhatsApp groups. Try to get off as many of them as
possible except those that are mostly important. Just say I'm
unsubscribing for this month of Ramadan, you know, and then I'll
come back on afterwards if you have to.
That is the only way and certain things are shut down. But YouTube
is even if you put the TV off, there's still the computer,
there's still the phone, etc. But it's something it's all going to
be about personal discipline. It's up to you. It's up to you Allah
Yeah, Drew Illa Daraa Salaam. He is invited
During people to the abode of peace, this is the time when he
saying that the sales are on. This is time for you to be selfish
about this and to go for as much as possible as you can, and just
cut away from everything that will waste your time. Sheikh Ahmed sir
Hindi who's one of the great scholars of the subcontinent,
who's considered the reviver as well he would say that the amount
of blessings during this month of Ramadan they're so much more
intense than any of the blessing outside the month of Ramadan. He
says it's like comparing a drop of an ocean with the ocean itself. So
a drop in the month of Ramadan is is equivalent to the ocean, right?
In the sense that one moment in Ramadan is like an ocean outside
Subhanallah there are so many benefits. And he said that this
drop are these drops that make up these many, many oceans that are
equivalent. He says these are the times of the great mercies and the
baraka and the blessings. And this is the secret of why Allah
subhanaw taala chose the Quran to be revealed during this month,
because it was the month of Mercy shahada Ramadan, a lady on Zillow
feel Quran, that is the month in which the Quran was revealed and
because it was the most opportune moment, it was the month that be
fitted the revelation of the Quran. And that is why one of the
biggest things that many of the Allama did during this month of
Ramadan is to focus on the Quran is to focus on the Quran. So the
Quran is your ticket to Allah subhanaw taala. So you read lots
and lots of Quran. And as I generally encourage every year
that you read the Quran, but you also use this opportunity to
memorize parts of the Quran, and you also spend 25% of your time in
trying to understand what Allah subhanaw taala is telling us. So
if you're reading for four hours a day, and then two hours, read the
Quran, one hour, memorize some extra Surah of the Quran, and one
hour, try to look at a meaning a translation, a commentary of the
Quran, and you will, you will see that all of these have their
benefits. All of these have their benefits. All of these have their
benefits. The more you will memorize the high you will get in
Jannah the more you will have to read in your Tahajjud prayer as
well. Now,
you know that Allah subhanaw taala is giving us all of these rewards
during the month of Ramadan 70 times a fourth prayer becomes its
reward become 70 times novel prayer becomes like a form of
prayer, et cetera, et cetera. Mercy and Baraka during this
month, as a poet says, which will translate into English he says,
Mercy of God asks not for price. Mercy of God asks for opportunity.
Mercy of Allah doesn't ask for price. It's not saying this is the
price. Pay me first and I'll give it to you. Mercy of Allah asks for
opportunity. Give me an opportunity and I will give you I
will shovel you shower you I will cloak you, I will totally surround
you. I will submerge you. That's the Mercy of Allah subhanaw taala
it wants an opportunity. Open up your hearts for Allah subhanho wa
Taala close our entire bodies in every sense of ours from
everything dunya we open up our hearts to Allah subhanho wa Taala
the mercies will come in the main thing is cry during this month,
cry during this month. Keep reading to us. Allahu manana is
Luca Jana. Oh Allah we ask you for Jana and Paradise when our rules
will be coming and now we ask you from hellfire do as in Ramadan Oh
Allah, this is the special month I have decided to give myself to it.
I've decided to stop all of the wrong things around me. I've
decided to make changes in my life. And I want these changes to
be permanent. Oh Allah only you can do this for me. Oh Allah give
me the strength, the fortification, the protection for
even after the month of Ramadan. Oh Allah, the shaytaan is not
around right now. So I find it much easier to worship and stay
away from sin. But Oh Allah, I want you to do this for me. After
the month of Ramadan. I want you to create enough capacity within
me like the Olia of Allah have like your Olia your friends have
so that I can do the same thing. This is what we need to ask Allah
subhanaw taala I will do us need to be well thought of our doors
need to be very personal. I will do us need not need not be those
that we just learned. And we just keep reading the same thing. No,
we need to be creative and ask Allah subhanaw taala get really
personal get really particular. That's what we want from the month
of Ramadan. I ask Allah subhanaw taala sincerely This is my dua
that Allah gives us gives you all my desire in my heart is that
Allah opened up his mercy for us. Allah subhanaw taala opened up his
bottle card for each one of us sitting here because that's the
whole point of doing this talk today. Otherwise, there's no
there's no point of it. It's to remind us is to get us into that
mode of mine to get personal with ALLAH SubhanA wa Tada. That's the
only way to do it. Every time you feel a pang of hunger. Every time
you feel difficulty every time you feel hot, you feel the heat, you
feel the thirst. You feel the dryness, you say Oh Allah, I'm
doing this for you. So speak to Allah during
Last month of Ramadan, speak to him as much as possible speak to
him. And that is what it is. Speak to him your heart, talk to him.
Remember he's the one who can do everything for you. And if we
don't ask him We can't ask anybody else. If there's anybody who can
help us and change our lives this Allah subhanaw taala that's why I
ask Allah subhanho wa Taala on behalf of all of us, that oh Allah
make this the best Ramadan that we've ever had in our life, the
best Ramadan we've ever had in our life and make us come out of it
better than we've ever been before. And closer to you, oh
Allah than we have ever been before. And may Allah subhanaw
taala preserve that closeness that we will get during this month. Oh
Allah subhanaw taala except how do I was working with that one until
hamdulillah Europe
