00:00:43 --> 00:00:50

so beloved listeners welcome to this new series for this Ramadan

00:00:51 --> 00:00:55

for this new Ramadan whether you started Ramadan today or whether

00:00:55 --> 00:00:58

you will be starting tomorrow may Allah subhanaw taala bless this

00:00:58 --> 00:01:02

month for you and for all of us. May Allah drench us in the

00:01:02 --> 00:01:07

outpourings of the absolute showers and storms of His mercy

00:01:07 --> 00:01:10

that descend during this month that Allah subhanaw taala has

00:01:10 --> 00:01:16

specially prepared for us all for the believers. May Allah subhanho

00:01:16 --> 00:01:22

wa Taala make this month a blessing one and better than any

00:01:22 --> 00:01:26

month of Ramadan before it and may Allah subhanho wa Taala connect us

00:01:26 --> 00:01:30

and use this. May Allah subhanaw taala allow these sessions to be a

00:01:30 --> 00:01:34

connection between us and him especially through his words which

00:01:34 --> 00:01:41

which is the Quran. So before we get into the discussions that we

00:01:41 --> 00:01:43

are here for Allah subhanahu wa taala

00:01:44 --> 00:01:50

has given us this Quran and every Muslim believes in the Quran. Many

00:01:50 --> 00:01:53

many Muslims know how to read the Quran. And there's

00:01:54 --> 00:01:58

a great number that also have memorized the Quran. And in

00:01:58 --> 00:02:01

Ramadan especially, there's lots and lots of Muslims who actually

00:02:01 --> 00:02:05

recite the Quran, and who listened to that series of the Quran. And

00:02:05 --> 00:02:09

probably most masajid in the world we will assume in the month of

00:02:09 --> 00:02:13

Ramadan, we'll have the entire Quran recited during taraweeh

00:02:13 --> 00:02:19

prayer as well. So the Quran has a lot of attention. And a lot of

00:02:19 --> 00:02:21

attention has been actually paid to the Quran.

00:02:22 --> 00:02:26

If you look in history, there's probably no other book which has

00:02:26 --> 00:02:30

had so much attention that's been paid to it. So much service that's

00:02:30 --> 00:02:34

provided to it. There's probably no other book that

00:02:36 --> 00:02:40

has got so much attention. So much work done on it, so much

00:02:40 --> 00:02:45

discussion about it. And so much has been produced about it as as

00:02:45 --> 00:02:46

the Quran

00:02:47 --> 00:02:51

for so many generations people have been producing have been

00:02:51 --> 00:02:54

doing the seals have been explaining different aspects of

00:02:54 --> 00:02:58

the Quran have been tracing, its historicity, tracing, the way it

00:02:58 --> 00:03:02

was written, the way it's pronounced all of these things

00:03:02 --> 00:03:05

about the Quran, I don't think there's a single other book out

00:03:05 --> 00:03:09

there with this much attention paid to it. I mean, if we're just

00:03:09 --> 00:03:12

to try to see how many books there are written on the Tafseer of the

00:03:12 --> 00:03:15

Quran, I don't think we could probably count it in the various

00:03:15 --> 00:03:18

different languages around the world that Muslims speak. For

00:03:18 --> 00:03:22

example, if you look at translations of the Quran, I mean,

00:03:22 --> 00:03:25

some of the first earliest English translations were there from the

00:03:25 --> 00:03:30

15th century, or probably actually even earlier, in that's just in

00:03:30 --> 00:03:35

English, and in many, many other many, many other languages, the

00:03:35 --> 00:03:39

translations of the Quran that's a science on its own to discuss how

00:03:39 --> 00:03:42

translation is good and what's so good about a translation and so

00:03:42 --> 00:03:42

on.

00:03:43 --> 00:03:47

Likewise, the tuxedos themselves I mean, there are so many different

00:03:47 --> 00:03:50

types of Tafseer and there are numerous books that have

00:03:50 --> 00:03:54

categorized the different commentaries of the Quran, that

00:03:54 --> 00:03:57

these are spiritual commentaries, these are juridical commentaries,

00:03:57 --> 00:04:01

these are commentaries based on explaining trying to explain the

00:04:01 --> 00:04:05

Quran with the Quran, there are those which are Tafseer Bill Thor,

00:04:05 --> 00:04:09

as they call them, which is a tafseer that tries to provide the

00:04:09 --> 00:04:13

explanation through Hadith like for example, the FC Ibaka theme,

00:04:14 --> 00:04:17

there is the shorter ones, there's the longer ones. There's those

00:04:17 --> 00:04:20

that talk about a lot of the additional philosophical aspects,

00:04:20 --> 00:04:24

the metaphysical aspects, the theological aspects, and there's

00:04:24 --> 00:04:28

just no end to mashallah Tafseer and we've got so much in front of

00:04:28 --> 00:04:29

us that we can benefit from

00:04:31 --> 00:04:35

if we then move on to something even more specific, that that read

00:04:35 --> 00:04:38

of the Quran I mean, just see how many books there are on the

00:04:38 --> 00:04:42

Tajweed of the Quran. Tajweed means how to correctly recite the

00:04:42 --> 00:04:45

Quran there are numerous books on that subject and that's something

00:04:45 --> 00:04:49

which is taught as a separate topic. You know, when it comes to

00:04:49 --> 00:04:53

something related to the Quran is the dream of the Quran. Likewise,

00:04:53 --> 00:04:59

there are infinite number of recitals of the Quran Subhanallah

00:04:59 --> 00:04:59

online

00:05:00 --> 00:05:04

In recordings even before there were any kind of online facilities

00:05:04 --> 00:05:08

like that you had the cassettes and the records and the mini discs

00:05:08 --> 00:05:11

and the CDs and all of these other things where there had been

00:05:11 --> 00:05:14

recitations going on throughout from the time of the Prophet

00:05:14 --> 00:05:17

sallallahu alayhi wasallam, from OB ImmunoCAP, or the Allahu Anhu.

00:05:17 --> 00:05:23

down the ages, the main Quran, there were many, many people ran,

00:05:23 --> 00:05:25

to congregate to listen to the Quran, there were various

00:05:25 --> 00:05:28

different styles of Quranic recitation, there were different

00:05:28 --> 00:05:32

modes of recitation, but then just in terms of the intonation, in

00:05:32 --> 00:05:36

terms of the tunes in terms of the styles with which people read

00:05:37 --> 00:05:41

mashallah, this has been something that has amazed, amazed people and

00:05:41 --> 00:05:44

inspired people throughout the ages. Can you imagine how many

00:05:45 --> 00:05:50

copies that have been of the Quran? If you move on, then you

00:05:50 --> 00:05:54

speak about copies editions of the Quran calligraphies. I mean, I've

00:05:54 --> 00:05:58

got several books that produce that have reproduced that have

00:05:58 --> 00:06:03

featured rather, some of the most amazing calligraphy that has been

00:06:03 --> 00:06:07

produced throughout our history. I mean, there's been lots of

00:06:07 --> 00:06:10

wonderful calligraphers. I mean, that's an art of its own

00:06:10 --> 00:06:14

Subhanallah Can you believe it, that there is an art on its own

00:06:14 --> 00:06:17

that, you know, is like an offshoot of a service to the

00:06:17 --> 00:06:21

Quran, which is the calligraphy and the beautiful way that it is

00:06:21 --> 00:06:26

written and inscribed. And, you know, again, again, for the sake

00:06:26 --> 00:06:30

of being more welcoming for the Quran, some of the best

00:06:30 --> 00:06:32

calligraphies for example,

00:06:33 --> 00:06:37

those that have been produced for the rulers of the past, the Kings

00:06:37 --> 00:06:40

the Sultan's and so on, they've been some of the best because

00:06:40 --> 00:06:45

that's where a huge amount of money would be spent gold, inlaid,

00:06:45 --> 00:06:50

illuminated calligraphy of the entire Quran Subhanallah I've got

00:06:50 --> 00:06:54

a number of specimens, you know, featured in different books that

00:06:54 --> 00:06:57

you can be amazed by the amount of hikma there is of the Quran, I

00:06:57 --> 00:07:01

mean, there's just no doubt regarding the Quran, based on all

00:07:01 --> 00:07:04

of this one is the director of seer of the Quran. But then the

00:07:04 --> 00:07:07

second thing, which many of you may have been concerned about, or

00:07:07 --> 00:07:11

were curious about is that why have we considered a call the

00:07:11 --> 00:07:15

series that alone will Quran, right 30 days of Illumina Quran,

00:07:15 --> 00:07:18

so Illumina Quran just to break that down quickly, and to explain

00:07:18 --> 00:07:22

that to you the way the Illumina Quran refers to the sciences of

00:07:22 --> 00:07:26

the Quran. So the word loom is the plural of L. Right? L means

00:07:26 --> 00:07:30

knowledge. But in this particular context, it means it's a title. So

00:07:30 --> 00:07:33

it refers to science. And the science of the Quran just means a

00:07:33 --> 00:07:38

collection of ideas, right, a collection of ideas of a specific

00:07:38 --> 00:07:42

topic. So there are many, many, many topics related to the Quran,

00:07:42 --> 00:07:45

and the collection of each of these ideas and principles and

00:07:45 --> 00:07:50

rules and so on each of these topics that each of them make in

00:07:50 --> 00:07:53

the realm of the Quran, and thus, when you have a number of them,

00:07:53 --> 00:07:57

and we're going to go through between 25 to 30 of them,

00:07:57 --> 00:08:02

depending on how long it will take for us to do this in the time that

00:08:02 --> 00:08:05

has been allotted for us. So there will be certain topics which we'll

00:08:05 --> 00:08:09

be able to cover in one session. And there'll be certain topics we

00:08:09 --> 00:08:12

may which we may have to take two sessions in because they are more

00:08:12 --> 00:08:15

profound topic or more detailed topic. And there will be some that

00:08:15 --> 00:08:19

will be able to cover two or three topics in in one session as well.

00:08:19 --> 00:08:24

So you will be amazed by the discussion there. But the point is

00:08:24 --> 00:08:29

not to be amazed the point of this lwml Quran session the sciences of

00:08:29 --> 00:08:32

the Quran session, right? And in the introduction we have already

00:08:32 --> 00:08:35

provided what this means we're going to be discussing, for

00:08:35 --> 00:08:37

example, how the Quran was revealed,

00:08:38 --> 00:08:40

right, the various different ways that the prophets Allah would

00:08:40 --> 00:08:44

actually receive the revelation. That's amazing. It was almost like

00:08:44 --> 00:08:47

a download from Allah subhanho wa Taala that probably Salah lorrison

00:08:47 --> 00:08:52

would receive right bit by bit over 23 years. How exactly did

00:08:52 --> 00:08:54

that used to come what used to happen to the Prophet sallallahu

00:08:54 --> 00:08:59

alayhi wa sallam, then we will discuss what is the reason for the

00:08:59 --> 00:09:02

way the sewers and the verses, in fact have been listed in the

00:09:02 --> 00:09:05

particular way in the Quran that they have? Why do we have to stick

00:09:05 --> 00:09:09

to that? Why do we have to adhere to that routine? And so on and so

00:09:09 --> 00:09:12

forth. These are just some ideas. So the purpose of this is not to

00:09:12 --> 00:09:17

just be amazed by this, but actually, it's an honor, right?

00:09:17 --> 00:09:21

That we also put our name into those who have studied the Quran

00:09:21 --> 00:09:24

the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said hi Eurocom manda alum

00:09:24 --> 00:09:29

Al Quran Allah Allah, really simple Hadith, but it is so easy

00:09:29 --> 00:09:32

to practice on this hadith if we make a bit of an effort. The

00:09:32 --> 00:09:34

Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said the best of you is the

00:09:34 --> 00:09:39

one who studies the Quran and who teaches it? You have to do study

00:09:39 --> 00:09:41

first before you can teach something, but who studies the

00:09:41 --> 00:09:44

Quran and who teaches the Quran? So now this is all part of that

00:09:44 --> 00:09:48

we're hoping that inshallah this month of Ramadan we spend also

00:09:48 --> 00:09:51

trying to qualify in being the best of people. Because for the

00:09:51 --> 00:09:53

Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he said the best of you is

00:09:53 --> 00:09:56

the one who studies the Quran teaches it. So while we're reading

00:09:56 --> 00:09:59

the Quran during this month as a lot of people continue to read the

00:09:59 --> 00:09:59

Quran, but we

00:10:00 --> 00:10:02

I'm also going to study the Quran, we're going to study the issues

00:10:02 --> 00:10:06

related to the Quran, everything that serves the Quran the various

00:10:06 --> 00:10:11

different sciences and bits of knowledge and topics and, and

00:10:11 --> 00:10:13

other subjects that relate to the Quran that would be of benefit in

00:10:13 --> 00:10:16

sha Allah so then one of the main things is that we want to

00:10:16 --> 00:10:19

inshallah qualify in the sight of Allah subhanaw taala as some of

00:10:19 --> 00:10:23

the best of people, this will be our little effort to try to

00:10:23 --> 00:10:28

inshallah do more during this Ramadan. Also, after our 30 Day

00:10:28 --> 00:10:31

tipsy last year in the last Ramadan, which is still available

00:10:31 --> 00:10:35

for those who did not get to listen to it, it's available. It's

00:10:35 --> 00:10:38

available online through the zum zum Academy channel. But mashallah

00:10:38 --> 00:10:41

many of you. Right, have been asking, we've received so many

00:10:41 --> 00:10:43

messages throughout the asking for something more asking for

00:10:43 --> 00:10:47

something more. And as we were drawing closer to Ramadan, people

00:10:47 --> 00:10:49

are saying what this year what kind of Tafseer will it be this

00:10:49 --> 00:10:53

year, so we decided to take it a notch up and to try to do Arun

00:10:53 --> 00:10:56

will Quran because mashallah many people covered a series of the

00:10:56 --> 00:11:00

Quran, but this will provide parts of Tafseer as well of course, but

00:11:00 --> 00:11:03

it will also provide inshallah some additional information that

00:11:03 --> 00:11:06

generally is not there, which leads to a lot of confusion if

00:11:06 --> 00:11:10

people do not know about this. So that's the second and a really big

00:11:10 --> 00:11:17

objective of these classes is that we hope that we will try to cover

00:11:17 --> 00:11:20

some of the most important things that relate to the Quran that are

00:11:20 --> 00:11:23

beneficial for us to know, not just beneficial, but I think

00:11:23 --> 00:11:27

important for us to know, significant for us to know and the

00:11:27 --> 00:11:31

benefit of this will be Inshallah, that we will be able to love the

00:11:31 --> 00:11:36

Quran more, appreciate the Quran more, right and understand and be

00:11:36 --> 00:11:41

able to acknowledge and recognize the the efforts that have been

00:11:41 --> 00:11:48

that have been undertaken for the Quran to come to us, right? And

00:11:48 --> 00:11:52

why we need to be closer to the Quran, all of this inshallah will

00:11:52 --> 00:11:56

be discussed will try to insha Allah through this, we're trying

00:11:56 --> 00:12:00

to become better connected to the Quran, better relate to the Quran,

00:12:00 --> 00:12:05

and become more aware of the various different things that the

00:12:05 --> 00:12:08

different subjects that relate to the Quran. Why is this important?

00:12:08 --> 00:12:12

Another reason is that we've seen in the last few years, maybe more

00:12:12 --> 00:12:14

so actually, in the last few years, and not just in the last

00:12:14 --> 00:12:17

few years. I mean, we've had this issue throughout our history, but

00:12:17 --> 00:12:21

more so in the last few years, we've had people even coming from

00:12:21 --> 00:12:24

within the Muslim community who are raising questions about

00:12:24 --> 00:12:26

various different aspects of the Quran, write different things

00:12:26 --> 00:12:30

related to the Quran. Now, for the most part, the majority of people

00:12:30 --> 00:12:33

would not know the sciences and when they don't know the sciences,

00:12:33 --> 00:12:37

and a person provides a bit of a question on something, for

00:12:37 --> 00:12:40

example, the seven readings of the Quran, there was a question about

00:12:40 --> 00:12:45

that, that was raised some several months ago, it caused a huge

00:12:46 --> 00:12:49

confusion. We got so many questions, we received so many

00:12:49 --> 00:12:53

questions about it. So if a person is not aware of the various

00:12:53 --> 00:12:56

different dimensions of the Quran and the various sciences related

00:12:56 --> 00:12:59

to Quran, a small question out there somewhere small doubt that's

00:12:59 --> 00:13:02

created somewhere, we'll sweep you off your feet and will cause you a

00:13:02 --> 00:13:06

lot of aggravation. So Inshallah, by becoming aware of this, the

00:13:06 --> 00:13:09

benefit of it is that inshallah then you will spread this point

00:13:09 --> 00:13:12

these points to others Inshallah, you will be able to calm people

00:13:12 --> 00:13:14

down, you will be able to

00:13:15 --> 00:13:20

also calm people down as well when these kinds of things happen. So

00:13:20 --> 00:13:22

and of course, be confident yourself and that's the most

00:13:22 --> 00:13:26

important thing. That's why insha Allah will be able to understand

00:13:26 --> 00:13:29

better the purposes of the Quran, the realities of the Quran, and

00:13:29 --> 00:13:34

this, dispel any doubts regarding his authenticity as well in sha

00:13:34 --> 00:13:38

Allah. So with that, we say Bismillah and we are about to

00:13:38 --> 00:13:42

Insha Allah, delve into this May Allah subhanho wa Taala make it

00:13:42 --> 00:13:47

easy, and we hope to take you along in sha Allah. Allah bless

00:13:47 --> 00:13:51

you all. And Allah give us blessing and Baraka in our time,

00:13:51 --> 00:13:52

right? Because

00:13:53 --> 00:13:57

in sha Allah and we hope that this is a time well spent are all the

00:13:57 --> 00:14:02

biller him in a shape on you're watching me Bismillah al Rahman al

00:14:02 --> 00:14:10

Rahim Allah any Gita Marathi so while Jean Norda a doobie Mythili

00:14:10 --> 00:14:15

her the Quran Isla tuna be missing? What Oh Can about

00:14:15 --> 00:14:18

although whom knew but when the hero

00:14:19 --> 00:14:25

Allah subhanho wa Taala says that if humanity and the jinn kind all

00:14:25 --> 00:14:29

came together to try to produce something similar the light of

00:14:29 --> 00:14:33

this Quran, they would not be able to produce the like of it, even if

00:14:33 --> 00:14:37

they assisted even if they became assistance of one another even if

00:14:37 --> 00:14:40

they started to help one another and they collectively tried to

00:14:40 --> 00:14:42

make this effort, they would not be able to do so.

00:14:43 --> 00:14:49

So, that is the inimitable nature of the Quran. Now as I said

00:14:49 --> 00:14:52

earlier, the scholars have been discussing the various different

00:14:52 --> 00:14:55

sciences relating to the Quran

00:14:57 --> 00:14:59

for centuries, right for centuries they've been discussed

00:15:00 --> 00:15:03

in different aspects about the Quran, and there are numerous

00:15:03 --> 00:15:08

books that were produced regarding it. So I've already already

00:15:08 --> 00:15:11

already discussed what alumina Quran refers to it's just a pillar

00:15:11 --> 00:15:14

of elemental Quran which essentially means the various

00:15:14 --> 00:15:17

different subjects and sciences related to the Quran. And all of

00:15:17 --> 00:15:21

these books are different. Initially, parts of the FSI for

00:15:21 --> 00:15:26

example, Imam Tabari, I would say he he Imam topper is tafsir is

00:15:26 --> 00:15:31

probably one of the one of the earliest of seers and commentaries

00:15:31 --> 00:15:34

of the Quran that we have published today. And it's probably

00:15:34 --> 00:15:37

one of the most authentic because everything that he transmits, he

00:15:37 --> 00:15:41

transmits through a chain from him up to the earliest professors,

00:15:41 --> 00:15:46

like for example, ignore Abbas or the Allahu Anhu and

00:15:47 --> 00:15:51

abdulai blomus ruder the Allahu Anhu then some of the tabby in now

00:15:51 --> 00:15:54

obviously something that is related through a direct chain

00:15:54 --> 00:15:57

that he relates from his teacher him from his teacher him from his

00:15:57 --> 00:16:01

teacher, up to Adelaide, not Ibis at the Allahu Anhu that a certain

00:16:01 --> 00:16:04

verse means something, right? That's going to be you know, as

00:16:04 --> 00:16:07

long as the people in between are authentic, that's going to be a

00:16:07 --> 00:16:10

very authentic tafsir. Now, however, before he starts his

00:16:10 --> 00:16:13

stuff, see, he has a number of topics that he deals with. So not

00:16:13 --> 00:16:16

all FCS. Do that if you look at the original books of Tafseer, the

00:16:16 --> 00:16:19

commentaries of the Quran, you'll find that a number of them

00:16:19 --> 00:16:23

actually cover before they actually start with Surah Fatiha

00:16:23 --> 00:16:27

or describing or detailing what Bismillahi Rahmani Raheem is what

00:16:27 --> 00:16:31

they do is they actually discuss several different sciences related

00:16:31 --> 00:16:35

to the Quran but not all of us do that. Imam tombery did that. For

00:16:35 --> 00:16:40

example, right. And likewise, Imam Kuta to be in his al Jamelia,

00:16:40 --> 00:16:44

Camila Quran, which is an amazing Tafseer another amazing to see,

00:16:45 --> 00:16:48

right Imam Ko to be used from Cordoba in Spain, in southern

00:16:48 --> 00:16:51

Spain and de Lucia. You know, history of Syria is an amazing

00:16:51 --> 00:16:54

deficit. It's one of the most populated cities as well, although

00:16:54 --> 00:16:58

he came quite a few centuries after Eman W. He also starts off

00:16:58 --> 00:17:02

with some different subjects regarding aluminum but I said they

00:17:02 --> 00:17:07

do not all do this right. Now that's so some of them are first

00:17:07 --> 00:17:11

seen as some of the commentators of the Quran, the exegesis of the

00:17:11 --> 00:17:14

Quran, they will actually incorporate different sciences

00:17:14 --> 00:17:17

related to the Quran. Within that FCS in the beginning of the

00:17:17 --> 00:17:20

autopsy. There were others who would add it into the Hadith books

00:17:20 --> 00:17:24

in the Hadith commentaries and so on. However, one of the first

00:17:24 --> 00:17:27

people to actually write a more comprehensive, like somewhat

00:17:27 --> 00:17:33

comprehensive collection on the Illumina Quran was actually none

00:17:33 --> 00:17:37

other than one of my famous one of my favorite scholars who died in

00:17:37 --> 00:17:42

about 597 Hijiri. So that's quite a few centuries in right 597

00:17:42 --> 00:17:46

Hijiri his name was a will forage Abdul Rahman Abdul Josie the great

00:17:46 --> 00:17:50

humbly scholar of Baghdad, right Abdul Rahman Abdul Josie, you can

00:17:50 --> 00:17:52

read more about him in the saviors of Assam experience as a wonderful

00:17:52 --> 00:17:56

coverage in the shakable Hassan Ali nadwi. He wrote phenomenal

00:17:56 --> 00:18:00

Ferdinand fee or unit or lwml Quran phenomenal afternoon for you

00:18:00 --> 00:18:03

are you in your room in Quran essentially saying that these are

00:18:03 --> 00:18:07

the various different subjects and topics relating to the main

00:18:07 --> 00:18:12

aspects of of, you know, the sciences of the Quran, that is

00:18:12 --> 00:18:15

considered by many as one of the earliest books, right, one of the

00:18:15 --> 00:18:19

earliest books in a comprehensive kind of manner. Not to say people

00:18:19 --> 00:18:20

didn't discuss this before.

00:18:21 --> 00:18:24

Now, I'm not going to bore you with a list of names of all of the

00:18:24 --> 00:18:27

books, but I do want to mention some of the other books.

00:18:27 --> 00:18:29

Unfortunately, a lot of these books are not in English, they're

00:18:29 --> 00:18:31

only in Arabic, and maybe there's a translation in some other

00:18:31 --> 00:18:36

languages, but some of the other really featured ones, which most

00:18:36 --> 00:18:39

people will resort to when they want to study your own will Quran

00:18:39 --> 00:18:42

right and we will indirectly or directly benefit from these as

00:18:42 --> 00:18:45

well. There are two others that that people have to mention. And

00:18:45 --> 00:18:49

one of them is Imam badeen Mohammed Abdullah Abdullah Azhar

00:18:49 --> 00:18:54

Kashi, who died in 794. So now we're talking about you know,

00:18:55 --> 00:19:00

to send centuries after ignore Josie Rahim Allah, he wrote al

00:19:00 --> 00:19:05

Bara Han v lwml. Quran the Quran Abraham means the proof, right?

00:19:05 --> 00:19:08

That Albert Hanafi olamine Quran that is a book that lots of people

00:19:08 --> 00:19:11

consult right when they want to study early on in the Quran. And

00:19:11 --> 00:19:15

then thirdly, the third book that that we have to mention is widely

00:19:15 --> 00:19:19

available. And there is actually tore off publishing have published

00:19:19 --> 00:19:20

a

00:19:21 --> 00:19:25

a abridged and abridged version of this right an abridged version not

00:19:25 --> 00:19:27

the full version and abridged version. The full version is very,

00:19:27 --> 00:19:31

very big. It's two volumes at least I think they've published a

00:19:31 --> 00:19:36

very small abridged edition of it is called it con fie aroma Quran

00:19:36 --> 00:19:40

it can it can means to solidify something to perfect something so

00:19:40 --> 00:19:43

it's it can't be original Quran and this is by none other than the

00:19:43 --> 00:19:46

great scholar his name you must have heard gelato Dean Abdul

00:19:46 --> 00:19:52

Rahman a SUTI. He died in 911. He died on 911 Hijiri 911 hegi a few

00:19:52 --> 00:19:57

centuries ago. Right. He benefited also from the earlier book The

00:19:57 --> 00:20:00

Borhan that I just spoke of Zarca he he benefits

00:20:00 --> 00:20:05

took from that and added many many points to that as well. So there

00:20:05 --> 00:20:08

you go. And then recently there's been a number of other great books

00:20:08 --> 00:20:11

in the Quran I said I don't need to bore you with the names of them

00:20:11 --> 00:20:15

but if you're interested you know some that really that really are

00:20:15 --> 00:20:19

worth checking out. One is mana hero Irfan fie alumina Quran was

00:20:19 --> 00:20:24

written in the early 1900s right by zoo Connie. Right. This is

00:20:24 --> 00:20:29

considered to be an amazing book when Irrfan Mohammed Abdullah

00:20:29 --> 00:20:34

Alvey mazurka, zoo Kearney, and that was written as in the early

00:20:34 --> 00:20:38

1900s. And then there's a number of others that I'm not going to

00:20:38 --> 00:20:42

necessarily mentioned. Some of those that we will be benefiting

00:20:42 --> 00:20:47

from will be I will mention them in sha Allah as we go along. But

00:20:48 --> 00:20:51

one of the books that we will be also benefiting from is known as

00:20:51 --> 00:20:55

Chef nodine ATAR, who passed away recently, his book on the Illumina

00:20:55 --> 00:20:59

Quran, we'll be dealing with that inshallah. We'll be reading that

00:20:59 --> 00:21:02

and if you want, I know there's one aside from the abridged

00:21:02 --> 00:21:06

version of the edcon Farooq Quran which Torah has published, there

00:21:06 --> 00:21:10

is another one which is written by Mufti Taqi with money call Arun

00:21:10 --> 00:21:13

will Quran or the discourses in the Quran has been translated into

00:21:13 --> 00:21:17

English. That's quite extensive as well. So if anybody wants

00:21:17 --> 00:21:21

something in English, there you go. It's an order as well. And the

00:21:21 --> 00:21:24

other one I think it's, it's maybe more I'm not sure if the English

00:21:24 --> 00:21:27

one is a full translation of the other one but the other one is

00:21:27 --> 00:21:32

very, very extensive as well. Right having said that, the Quran

00:21:32 --> 00:21:36

is Allah subhanho wa Taala says that the keratin Lima Yasha that

00:21:36 --> 00:21:41

keratin Lima Yaksha then zielen me man holla colada was somehow it

00:21:41 --> 00:21:46

Lulu, it's a reminder for those who fear the Quran is a reminder

00:21:46 --> 00:21:50

for those who fear it's a revelation from the one who has

00:21:50 --> 00:21:53

created the earth and who's created the high heavens. That is

00:21:53 --> 00:21:57

what the Quran is and by saying that let us begin now with some of

00:21:57 --> 00:22:01

the absolute basics right. Now, some of these things will seem to

00:22:01 --> 00:22:04

for some of you may be very, very basic and other things may be

00:22:04 --> 00:22:09

quite elaborate and complicated, right? So there will be a whole

00:22:10 --> 00:22:14

array of different subjects that we will we'll do, and we'll take

00:22:14 --> 00:22:18

care of insha Allah with the topic of Allah subhanaw taala firstly,

00:22:18 --> 00:22:21

let us discuss what is this name the Quran what does the word Quran

00:22:21 --> 00:22:25

mean? We keep using the word Quran Quran Quran Quran, what exactly it

00:22:25 --> 00:22:30

is the word Quran mean and why has it been used? You know, for this

00:22:30 --> 00:22:33

at the end of the day Quran is an Arabic word, and it actually comes

00:22:33 --> 00:22:37

from Cora, which means to recite, so Cora is an Arabic word which

00:22:37 --> 00:22:43

means something to recite. So the word Quran, similar to Ghufron,

00:22:43 --> 00:22:46

right Quran wulfrun. Allah subhanho wa Taala says in the

00:22:46 --> 00:22:50

Quran, he refers to the Quran as the Quran Allah says, for example,

00:22:50 --> 00:22:53

in arlena jimang, who call

00:22:54 --> 00:22:58

for either Cora, who felt there'll be poor earn. Now, what's

00:22:58 --> 00:23:04

interesting here is that the word core urn that's used here is

00:23:04 --> 00:23:09

actually not in the meaning of the title the Quran. So, Allah

00:23:09 --> 00:23:13

subhanaw taala says that it is our responsibility to have it

00:23:13 --> 00:23:17

consolidated and gathered together for you in Allina Gemma who are

00:23:17 --> 00:23:22

Khurana Khurana that you either Corona who so when we recite it

00:23:22 --> 00:23:26

for Tabea Khurana you also pursue its reading.

00:23:27 --> 00:23:31

So it's here in the meaning of recitation because that's the

00:23:31 --> 00:23:35

literal meaning of Quran that's the literal literal meaning of

00:23:35 --> 00:23:40

Torah Jaco para tool Quran You know, I have recited Kira, and

00:23:40 --> 00:23:45

Quran means recitation that's its real real meaning however, it then

00:23:46 --> 00:23:51

was chosen by Allah subhanaw taala to be used for as the description

00:23:51 --> 00:23:57

as the title and as the name for the entire set of verses 114 14

00:23:57 --> 00:24:00

sewers. And all of the verses of the Quran, collectively is now

00:24:00 --> 00:24:02

called the Quran that's what we refer to it as.

00:24:03 --> 00:24:09

So there's, now the scholars have provided a technical definition of

00:24:09 --> 00:24:13

the Quran, right? There's numerous verses with with Quran in the in

00:24:13 --> 00:24:14

Zelner who

00:24:15 --> 00:24:20

Quran and RRB and Quran and RRB and so there it actually is

00:24:20 --> 00:24:26

referring to the name right as the as this book as this book. So that

00:24:26 --> 00:24:31

is the most famous and well known and popular name of the Quran.

00:24:32 --> 00:24:36

Right? Can you think of any other names of the Quran? Does anybody

00:24:36 --> 00:24:40

have any ideas of any other names of the Quran that they can come up

00:24:40 --> 00:24:42

with what Allah subhanaw taala is call it or anybody else for that

00:24:42 --> 00:24:43

matter.

00:24:44 --> 00:24:46

For Khan is another one, which means the criteria we'll be

00:24:46 --> 00:24:49

dealing with we'll be looking at that. Any anything else?

00:24:51 --> 00:24:55

Another most famous is what you start off with. Vertical keekaboo

00:24:55 --> 00:25:00

kitab V Kitab, Al Kitab and ZIL.

00:25:00 --> 00:25:05

Kitab right kita is another word. So let's first talk about the

00:25:05 --> 00:25:09

Quran. Scholars have defined the Quran what is it? What is a

00:25:09 --> 00:25:14

comprehensive and exclusive and preclusive definition of the

00:25:14 --> 00:25:15

Quran? All right.

00:25:16 --> 00:25:19

So this is how they've defined it. Now be patient with this right?

00:25:20 --> 00:25:26

Well Khurana who are Cunnamulla he Al Al Quran who are Canavalia he,

00:25:26 --> 00:25:28

Al Munna Zulu Allah Nabi

00:25:29 --> 00:25:33

Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa salam, Al Maktoum Bofill masala

00:25:33 --> 00:25:39

HIF elmen ko Lupita al Motta Abbott, between our two L

00:25:39 --> 00:25:43

mortgages will be sought out in Minho. That is an extremely

00:25:43 --> 00:25:46

comprehensive definition of the Quran. And I think you should

00:25:46 --> 00:25:49

probably write down it in English if you don't have it in Arabic,

00:25:50 --> 00:25:53

because it's really comprehensive, this will actually make it very

00:25:53 --> 00:25:56

clear and lots of people have this have this confusion, you know,

00:25:56 --> 00:25:59

Hadith I could see the divine narration from the Prophet

00:25:59 --> 00:26:02

sallallahu evolution, Allah subhanaw taala speaks, but Allah

00:26:02 --> 00:26:05

is speaking in there as well. Those are Allah's words as well

00:26:05 --> 00:26:08

how do they differ from the Quran? Why can't we recite those and get

00:26:08 --> 00:26:12

reward? The way when we recite the Quran we receive reward, right?

00:26:12 --> 00:26:16

And on the Hadith also general Hadith on day inspired by Allah

00:26:16 --> 00:26:18

subhanho wa Taala to the Prophet sallallahu Sallam as well. Okay,

00:26:18 --> 00:26:22

what is the difference between that? So that is all of that

00:26:22 --> 00:26:25

inshallah is what we're going to discuss, but this definition or

00:26:25 --> 00:26:27

let me translate it for you. And if you want to write it down, you

00:26:27 --> 00:26:32

can. The Quran is the words of ALLAH, or is the word of Allah.

00:26:32 --> 00:26:36

That so that's number one is the word of Allah, that has been

00:26:36 --> 00:26:39

revealed upon the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi salam, so not no

00:26:39 --> 00:26:42

other prophet, but Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam to

00:26:43 --> 00:26:47

that should be enough. Now they've added some additional parts, which

00:26:47 --> 00:26:51

has been written in the most muscle have which has been written

00:26:51 --> 00:26:56

in the copies, handwritten, you know, or written in, you know, in

00:26:56 --> 00:27:00

books in volumes. That's number three, number four, which has been

00:27:00 --> 00:27:04

transmitted from the professor loathsome to us through

00:27:04 --> 00:27:08

continuous, widespread, continuous, uninterrupted

00:27:08 --> 00:27:09

transmission.

00:27:11 --> 00:27:14

There was, from the time the prophets are awesome to us, the

00:27:14 --> 00:27:19

Quran has been transmitted through 1000s, hundreds of 1000s. And it's

00:27:19 --> 00:27:25

only increasing millions, maybe of people in every generation, to

00:27:25 --> 00:27:28

such a degree, that they would they could never have come

00:27:28 --> 00:27:32

together to have agreed that let's make this part of the ground which

00:27:32 --> 00:27:34

was not part of the Quran, something that was not part of the

00:27:34 --> 00:27:38

Quran, it just would be impossible for that to happen because of the

00:27:38 --> 00:27:42

sheer number of people who have been transmitting the Quran. Such

00:27:42 --> 00:27:45

a number could never come together to make up something, right,

00:27:45 --> 00:27:48

because there always always be somebody or the other who would

00:27:48 --> 00:27:50

probably inform of them or something like that. So the

00:27:51 --> 00:27:56

continuous number, the wide, expansive continuum that we have

00:27:56 --> 00:27:59

generation after generation without any gap proves the

00:27:59 --> 00:28:02

authenticity of grace. So that's the fourth point that's part of

00:28:02 --> 00:28:06

the definition of the Quran. The fifth one is Al Motta Abbott be

00:28:06 --> 00:28:11

Tilawat. Which means the speech which you would be worshiping

00:28:11 --> 00:28:16

Allah or expressing your devotion by reciting the thing, which when

00:28:16 --> 00:28:20

you recite you express your devotion so it's a worship to

00:28:20 --> 00:28:21

recite it,

00:28:22 --> 00:28:25

you actually get a reward for for reciting this and we'll actually

00:28:25 --> 00:28:28

Inshallah, explain this in a bit more detail. And the last point

00:28:28 --> 00:28:32

the six points so this definition is made up of six points, right,

00:28:32 --> 00:28:36

you can see how beneficial each one of these are. The six point is

00:28:36 --> 00:28:38

almost just wallow be salty Minho.

00:28:40 --> 00:28:46

Which is in inimitable even by a single shorter Surah of it. What

00:28:46 --> 00:28:50

does that inimitable mean? Meaning That's the miracle nature, that's

00:28:50 --> 00:28:53

something which we can consider to be its miracle nature, that it

00:28:53 --> 00:28:59

cannot be challenged. Right? Even a short the shortest surah in it

00:28:59 --> 00:29:06

in our planar co author, for Sol linear on big one, how in Shalini,

00:29:06 --> 00:29:11

Oka who will a better nobody can even reproduce something that can

00:29:11 --> 00:29:14

compare with a shorter Surah of it. Now, there's a lot of

00:29:14 --> 00:29:18

discussion there. Each of these is going to be discussed in much more

00:29:18 --> 00:29:21

detail later on, as we as we go on, and that is the Illumina Quran

00:29:21 --> 00:29:25

will be, you know, will will form part of this will form part of

00:29:25 --> 00:29:28

that as well. But that's the definition. Number one, it is the

00:29:28 --> 00:29:31

speech of Allah revealed to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa

00:29:31 --> 00:29:37

sallam written in, in the copies and and transmitted through

00:29:37 --> 00:29:43

continuous widespread without uninterrupted transmission. That

00:29:43 --> 00:29:47

which is a devotion and a worship to recite and that which is

00:29:47 --> 00:29:52

inimitable, unchallenged and not comparable. That's the definition

00:29:52 --> 00:29:54

of the Quran. So if somebody asks you what is the Quran, that is

00:29:54 --> 00:29:58

what you will tell them as many of those points as possible. So let

00:29:58 --> 00:30:00

us quickly go through each one

00:30:00 --> 00:30:05

Are these in a bit more detail for today insha Allah. Firstly, it is

00:30:05 --> 00:30:08

the speech of Allah subhanho wa Taala which the first two point

00:30:08 --> 00:30:10

speech of Allah subhanaw taala, revealed to the Prophet sallallahu

00:30:10 --> 00:30:14

alayhi wa sallam that shows you that this is nobody else's speech.

00:30:14 --> 00:30:17

This is not the speech of the angel, there were some Orientalist

00:30:17 --> 00:30:22

like Arthur Graham Bell, right in the early 1900s, or whatever. And

00:30:22 --> 00:30:26

he did this translation of the Quran. And he kind of gave these

00:30:26 --> 00:30:30

gave these really weird ideas that this verse was set by Mohammed,

00:30:31 --> 00:30:34

this one doesn't make sense to be part of it, it doesn't really

00:30:34 --> 00:30:38

flow. So this was actually maybe the words of some angels or

00:30:38 --> 00:30:41

something. And then he says, oh, and these words, they seem like

00:30:41 --> 00:30:45

they were just notes written on the back of the paper or the

00:30:45 --> 00:30:48

parchment, or whatever that the Quran was written on a verse was

00:30:48 --> 00:30:51

written on, and then it was just incorporated in it, because he

00:30:51 --> 00:30:54

couldn't see any logical conclusion. He could not see any

00:30:54 --> 00:30:57

logical sequence. So he just came up, tentatively saying all of

00:30:57 --> 00:31:00

these things, of course, I mean, there's not just him, there was at

00:31:00 --> 00:31:04

least another one or two who did the same thing. But Alhamdulillah

00:31:04 --> 00:31:07

today, you know, the, even the orientalist have dismissed that

00:31:07 --> 00:31:09

idea, right? Because it was just,

00:31:11 --> 00:31:14

it was just a really futile idea. But to give you an idea that this

00:31:14 --> 00:31:18

is what people have done, right? So the Quran, everything in the

00:31:18 --> 00:31:21

Quran comes from Allah subhanaw taala it's not the words of any

00:31:21 --> 00:31:24

one else otherwise it would not be called the Quran for it to be

00:31:24 --> 00:31:25

called the Quran. It has to be

00:31:27 --> 00:31:30

the, it has to be the direct words of Allah subhanaw taala that's why

00:31:30 --> 00:31:34

the Hadith, actually not the direct words of Allah subhanaw

00:31:34 --> 00:31:37

taala the inspiration the peroxisome has an idea that's

00:31:37 --> 00:31:41

inspired and then he uses his own words to explain it. Even the

00:31:41 --> 00:31:45

Hadith al could see the exact words are not necessarily the

00:31:45 --> 00:31:49

inspiration that hey, st in this word, right? This is exactly how

00:31:49 --> 00:31:53

you must say the Quran was this is exactly how you must say it.

00:31:54 --> 00:31:57

That's what Allah Subhanallah if you read surah 2pm la oxy will be

00:31:57 --> 00:31:59

omit the AMA the whole discussion is in there

00:32:01 --> 00:32:06

for either Corona HuFa Tabby Quran in Natalina, Viana gullible to hit

00:32:06 --> 00:32:10

Boondall edge and then it carries on. But there it was. The

00:32:10 --> 00:32:12

discussion is that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa salam when

00:32:12 --> 00:32:15

Gibreel Ali Salam used to come with the Quran, and he used to

00:32:15 --> 00:32:18

read the verses the profit and loss image to try to repeat them

00:32:18 --> 00:32:22

fast, fast, fast, right, so that he could memorize them. And the

00:32:22 --> 00:32:25

Prophet salallahu Alaihe Salam was told by Allah subhanho wa Taala to

00:32:25 --> 00:32:28

harvick be Healy Sana Colita Jollibee, don't move your tongue

00:32:28 --> 00:32:32

quickly so that you can rush in haste to, you know,

00:32:33 --> 00:32:37

preserve this Quran. It is our responsibility, the verse I read

00:32:37 --> 00:32:39

earlier, it's our responsibility to have it gathered and

00:32:39 --> 00:32:43

consolidated and preserved in your heart for you. Right. But for us,

00:32:43 --> 00:32:45

one of the best ways for memorizing the Quran is actually

00:32:45 --> 00:32:49

to repeat it over and over again to say it quickly over and over

00:32:49 --> 00:32:54

again as the Hafez will tell you, so the Quran is not the words of

00:32:54 --> 00:32:59

any insan no human being, no jinn, no angel, only Allah subhanaw

00:32:59 --> 00:33:03

taala upon Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa salam obviously means

00:33:03 --> 00:33:08

that it's not the Torah visible or the Psalms or the evangel, or any

00:33:08 --> 00:33:12

other book, this Quran can only be was only upon the Prophet

00:33:12 --> 00:33:16

sallallahu somebody does not. It does not include parts of the

00:33:16 --> 00:33:21

Bible, you know, taken from the Evangel if Allah subhanaw taala

00:33:21 --> 00:33:23

made it part of this in the sense that he revealed it as part of the

00:33:23 --> 00:33:26

Quran that would be different because there are many ideas that

00:33:26 --> 00:33:28

are found in here that are profound what Katarina Eileen fie

00:33:28 --> 00:33:32

her and enough Sabine FC. Well, I enable it well Enfamil endfeet

00:33:32 --> 00:33:36

Well, una will only we prescribed upon them, meaning that your hood

00:33:36 --> 00:33:39

in in their book, right, we prescribed upon them that a life

00:33:39 --> 00:33:43

will be taken for a life and an eye for an eye and nose for a nose

00:33:43 --> 00:33:45

and so on and so forth. So those kinds of things have been repeated

00:33:45 --> 00:33:48

and added in here where it was necessary, but there was nothing

00:33:48 --> 00:33:53

taken and become part of the Quran directly by the Prophet sallallahu

00:33:53 --> 00:33:56

alayhi wasallam the next point which is Al Maktoum Bofill

00:33:56 --> 00:34:01

Messiah, that which is written in a copy so the Quran is written.

00:34:02 --> 00:34:04

Now, there's some people who may have never seen a written Quran,

00:34:04 --> 00:34:07

you know, for them, it was all memorization. I mean, today that's

00:34:07 --> 00:34:12

kind of impossible. Right? But I'm saying they've made this part of

00:34:12 --> 00:34:15

the definition that the Quran must is also considered the part which

00:34:15 --> 00:34:19

is written as well, right? Because this is how the Quran has been

00:34:19 --> 00:34:21

preserved from the time of the Prophet sallallahu Sallam until

00:34:21 --> 00:34:23

now. In fact, in the time of the Prophet salallahu, alayhi

00:34:23 --> 00:34:27

wasallam. At some, you know, only the Quran was allowed to be

00:34:27 --> 00:34:31

written, right? That's why a lot of the Hadith also of some Hadith

00:34:31 --> 00:34:34

was also written by some of the Sahaba Abubakar Siddique or the

00:34:34 --> 00:34:37

Allah when I'm reading Abdullah bin Nasser, the Allah and others,

00:34:37 --> 00:34:40

but nothing was allowed to be written along with the Quran

00:34:40 --> 00:34:43

whatever was written as the Quran when the Prophet sallallahu Sallam

00:34:43 --> 00:34:46

would receive the revelation he would quickly because he couldn't

00:34:46 --> 00:34:49

write himself. You would memorize it right? He would have it in his

00:34:49 --> 00:34:51

mind because Allah subhanaw taala had given it in his mind, he would

00:34:51 --> 00:34:55

quickly call Zaid hypnotherapist or the Allahu Anhu Mojave or the

00:34:55 --> 00:34:59

Allah one was somebody else, right, and others and others and

00:34:59 --> 00:34:59

they would

00:35:00 --> 00:35:02

They will basically write it down because they knew how to write

00:35:02 --> 00:35:04

return on different kinds of pieces. We'll discuss that later.

00:35:04 --> 00:35:08

Inshallah we'll discuss that later. Nothing was allowed. That's

00:35:08 --> 00:35:12

why there was an idea Jerry riddle Quran, like, keep the Quran

00:35:12 --> 00:35:15

completely away from anything else, so that nothing should be

00:35:15 --> 00:35:18

confused as becoming part of the Quran. All right, we'll discuss

00:35:18 --> 00:35:23

all of this in a lot more detail in sha Allah, in fact, was called

00:35:23 --> 00:35:26

general Messiah who like keep the copies of the Quran completely

00:35:26 --> 00:35:29

away from any other kinds of writings. So nobody mistakes it.

00:35:30 --> 00:35:34

Right. The the the next point was that which has been transmitted

00:35:34 --> 00:35:38

through an interrupted Chang, right. And that's quite easy to

00:35:38 --> 00:35:45

understand. But you see, for if you hear something, a new news or

00:35:45 --> 00:35:50

a piece of speech, a bit of speech of someone else, and one person

00:35:50 --> 00:35:52

has told it to you, or even two people or even three people,

00:35:52 --> 00:35:57

right? You could logically rationally assume that, if you

00:35:57 --> 00:36:00

have any doubts about that, that these three people they got

00:36:00 --> 00:36:05

together to make this up. It's possible, right? For people you

00:36:05 --> 00:36:08

have for people, let's just say the moon, right? There's a certain

00:36:08 --> 00:36:12

area, right? I'm not starting a moon debate about Severian Moon

00:36:12 --> 00:36:14

births or anything like that. But the point is that let's just say

00:36:14 --> 00:36:18

from a certain area, there's one person who sees the moon, and

00:36:18 --> 00:36:20

nobody else sees it anywhere else, then we would probably say, maybe

00:36:20 --> 00:36:23

he saw something else. Maybe he's mistaken. What about if two people

00:36:23 --> 00:36:26

see it? What about if three people see it, we could still say that

00:36:26 --> 00:36:29

maybe they saw it, they also the same mistake, there was maybe

00:36:31 --> 00:36:33

something that they saw that was there that looked like the moon

00:36:33 --> 00:36:38

and nobody else saw it that the sky was clear. Right? Now four

00:36:38 --> 00:36:41

people, five people, six people, generally they say that when the

00:36:41 --> 00:36:44

sky is clearer than just one person sighting is not sufficient,

00:36:44 --> 00:36:48

you need to have what they call a gem of a field, which means such a

00:36:48 --> 00:36:52

huge expense of people, what number, right, such an expense of

00:36:52 --> 00:36:56

people, right, so you can't fix it on a certain number of people.

00:36:56 --> 00:37:00

Because if you say 10 People steal 10 people, they could be, you

00:37:00 --> 00:37:03

know, part of the same club and they could have decided as a

00:37:03 --> 00:37:06

conspiracy that let us say that we saw the moon, that's a

00:37:06 --> 00:37:10

possibility. So you have to see the nature of the people. And

00:37:10 --> 00:37:12

there are people who given different numbers. But when it

00:37:12 --> 00:37:15

comes to the Quran, we're talking about 1000s of people in every

00:37:15 --> 00:37:18

generation, there were 1000s of Sahaba, who took the Quran from

00:37:18 --> 00:37:21

the Prophet sallallahu sallam, from the sahaba. They were, you

00:37:21 --> 00:37:26

know, many, many, many more 1000 or millions of data between who

00:37:26 --> 00:37:29

and then the successes of them and so on. There's just no way that

00:37:29 --> 00:37:32

all of these people would have gotten together, right and said,

00:37:32 --> 00:37:37

Let us make up a verse or let us take away of us. And people would

00:37:37 --> 00:37:41

have agreed, because there were individuals who tried this, there

00:37:41 --> 00:37:44

are claims from certain individuals that there are verses

00:37:44 --> 00:37:49

missing in the Quran, or there are also some who claimed that we

00:37:49 --> 00:37:53

should take away some verses of the Quran, they're not really part

00:37:53 --> 00:37:56

of the Quran, we've had individuals who may have done

00:37:56 --> 00:38:00

that, but the majority has had the same Quran throughout and that's

00:38:00 --> 00:38:03

the most amazing thing had the same Quran and that is the one

00:38:03 --> 00:38:06

that's reflected in the writing that has been written as well. And

00:38:06 --> 00:38:09

that's very, very important. They I don't think there's any other

00:38:09 --> 00:38:15

book like this in existence, which was memorized in hearts, and also

00:38:15 --> 00:38:21

written right and then So how was the Quran transmitted through this

00:38:21 --> 00:38:26

uninterrupted chain, through hearts and through the written the

00:38:26 --> 00:38:29

written copies, through written copies and through the hearts so

00:38:29 --> 00:38:33

if there was ever a mistake in the written copies Subhanallah they

00:38:33 --> 00:38:37

you know, people produce different mishaps different Quran, and they

00:38:37 --> 00:38:39

have to get it checked and checked and checked again. Because

00:38:39 --> 00:38:42

sometimes, you know, you can have a mistake and that people are

00:38:42 --> 00:38:44

going to pick that mistake up. You're not a six year old kid

00:38:44 --> 00:38:48

who's memorized the Quran, or who's still studying will be able

00:38:48 --> 00:38:51

to pick up. Likewise, if there's somebody somebody who just

00:38:51 --> 00:38:53

memorized the Quran, and he's reading something and he makes a

00:38:53 --> 00:38:55

mistake, there's going to be somebody there, who will be able

00:38:55 --> 00:38:58

to take the mistake out, and we'll be able to correct him using a

00:38:58 --> 00:39:02

written so that's why in our tradition, both the written and

00:39:02 --> 00:39:06

the heart memorize are both very, very, very important.

00:39:07 --> 00:39:12

And in order to facilitate that, Allah subhanaw taala made it easy.

00:39:12 --> 00:39:15

So Allah subhanho wa Taala says in the Quran, what are called as

00:39:15 --> 00:39:20

sarnelli early victory for one month decade, we have facilitated

00:39:20 --> 00:39:24

the Quran for its, you know, for its remembrance for its

00:39:24 --> 00:39:28

memorization, you know, however you want to however you can, the

00:39:28 --> 00:39:31

various ways you can read that. Is there anybody to do that? Now you

00:39:31 --> 00:39:34

see Subhan Allah the miracle of the Quran is that you've got

00:39:34 --> 00:39:38

people in non Arab communities who absolutely do not understand a

00:39:38 --> 00:39:41

single word of Arabic in many cases, and yet they've memorized

00:39:41 --> 00:39:44

the entire Quran and they have not memorized anything in their own

00:39:44 --> 00:39:48

language if they're English speaking, Urdu speaking, or or for

00:39:48 --> 00:39:52

example, somebody speaking they may they may not have memorized

00:39:52 --> 00:39:55

anything in Somali or anything in Urdu, right but yet they know the

00:39:55 --> 00:39:59

entire Quran by heart. They won't know a single point in English if

00:39:59 --> 00:39:59

their languages

00:40:00 --> 00:40:04

English but they know the entire Quran at heart and amazingly good

00:40:04 --> 00:40:08

enough as an Arab as well, that's the miracle of the Quran that

00:40:08 --> 00:40:12

Allah subhanaw taala made it made it such And number five, which was

00:40:12 --> 00:40:14

that it is something which

00:40:16 --> 00:40:19

we you will be rewarded by reading, right something you get

00:40:19 --> 00:40:21

rewarded by reading. So, essentially that is what it is.

00:40:22 --> 00:40:25

The Quran is such that if you recited for the sake of Allah

00:40:25 --> 00:40:28

subhanaw taala, you had no intention to get reward is like

00:40:28 --> 00:40:31

this is my this is the words of Allah subhanaw taala, I want to

00:40:31 --> 00:40:34

read them, you're getting reward for every single letter, you're

00:40:34 --> 00:40:37

getting 10 rewards, you don't get the same reward for Hadith, you

00:40:37 --> 00:40:40

get reward for Hadith, if you're studying them for the sake of

00:40:40 --> 00:40:43

learning and so on. Right, but if you say I'm just gonna read

00:40:43 --> 00:40:46

Buhari, just because I want to get reward, every letter gives me a

00:40:46 --> 00:40:48

certain reward, I'm not going to even understand any, I'm just

00:40:48 --> 00:40:51

going to read it, you're not going to get that reward, you only get

00:40:51 --> 00:40:56

that reward by reciting the Quran, any Surah of the Quran, whether

00:40:56 --> 00:40:58

you understand it or not, if you understand it, there's going to be

00:40:58 --> 00:41:02

a whole other experience a whole other benefit. But even if you

00:41:02 --> 00:41:06

don't understand it, you will benefit right that you will get

00:41:06 --> 00:41:10

the reward of it. This inshallah we'll discuss in a bit more detail

00:41:10 --> 00:41:12

as well later in terms of

00:41:14 --> 00:41:17

some of the other karate and some of the other recitations whether

00:41:17 --> 00:41:20

you will be rewarded for reading some of the more you can say,

00:41:21 --> 00:41:24

the apparent karate will we'll look at that later in sha Allah.

00:41:24 --> 00:41:27

But the last point for today is

00:41:28 --> 00:41:33

the inimitable nature of the Quran l mortgages. So this essentially

00:41:33 --> 00:41:36

will be discussed in a lot more detail later as to how much of the

00:41:36 --> 00:41:40

Quran see, I'll give you a question. Allah subhanaw taala

00:41:40 --> 00:41:45

says in the Quran, in Surah Tomaz would differ from another.

00:41:46 --> 00:41:52

Then he looked, right, then he saw some another from another, two

00:41:52 --> 00:41:56

very simple words from another. Insert Rama and Allah subhanaw

00:41:56 --> 00:41:57

taala says muda

00:42:00 --> 00:42:03

it's a verse but it's only made up of one word muda harmattan giving

00:42:03 --> 00:42:07

a description, right? I mean, somebody can make up a word like

00:42:07 --> 00:42:11

that. And some another can make up a phrase like that. That's not

00:42:11 --> 00:42:17

difficult. All right. So is that much considered to be a miracle or

00:42:17 --> 00:42:22

inimitable in its nature? Right? So I don't want to make this too

00:42:22 --> 00:42:24

complex right now. But when we discuss it, I'll explain this in

00:42:24 --> 00:42:27

more detail. What is the minimum amount of the Quran that is

00:42:27 --> 00:42:32

considered to be inimitable? Right, now, let us look at a few

00:42:32 --> 00:42:36

of the verses in the Quran where Allah subhana wa Taala discusses

00:42:36 --> 00:42:40

this. So in Surah, Al Israel verse 88, Allah subhana wa Taala says,

00:42:41 --> 00:42:47

or let in Egypt and it in soil gene Nuala A to be meaningfully

00:42:47 --> 00:42:52

higher than Anila tuna be monthly, what you can about the homely

00:42:52 --> 00:42:59

battledome Mahira say to them, that if the humankind and the jinn

00:42:59 --> 00:43:04

kind come, came together, and combined together to produce the

00:43:04 --> 00:43:07

life of this Quran, they would not be able to produce the life of

00:43:07 --> 00:43:10

even if they were to assist one another. Then Allah subhanho wa

00:43:10 --> 00:43:14

Taala says in Surah, Al Baqarah, verses 23 and 24

00:43:16 --> 00:43:22

We're in go to infinity arrivee meme man as I Betina to be

00:43:22 --> 00:43:30

superato Mithali whether all shahada calm in Duni in coutume,

00:43:30 --> 00:43:37

side up in the in lambda for ILO wala Phi Mu now letting you Mokou

00:43:37 --> 00:43:44

Han Soo well AJA or or that little feeling. If you have any doubts

00:43:44 --> 00:43:48

regarding that which We have revealed to our servant, then

00:43:48 --> 00:43:52

bring us sorta like it produce a sort of like it even like in our

00:43:52 --> 00:43:58

Tina Kolkata, and then call all of your witnesses besides Allah

00:43:58 --> 00:44:00

subhanaw taala called whoever else that you want, if you are

00:44:00 --> 00:44:04

truthful, if you saying that this Quran is wrong or incorrect or is

00:44:04 --> 00:44:09

fabricated, if you cannot do this, and then Allah says, well in the

00:44:09 --> 00:44:12

follow you will never be able to do this. If you cannot do this,

00:44:12 --> 00:44:17

and you will never ever be able to do this, then protect yourself

00:44:17 --> 00:44:23

protect protect from the Fire, whose fuel is the human being and

00:44:23 --> 00:44:27

the stones which has been prepared for the disbelievers. So by this,

00:44:27 --> 00:44:31

Allah subhanaw taala produces this challenge. So the Quran is

00:44:31 --> 00:44:35

something that can never be reproduced, we will inshallah

00:44:35 --> 00:44:39

discuss in more detail exactly how many verses that is or how many

00:44:39 --> 00:44:42

words that is and all of that detail will come later. We pray to

00:44:43 --> 00:44:47

Allah subhanaw taala to bless us with the Quran and Illuminate our

00:44:47 --> 00:44:50

hearts with the Quran and all of these different aspects about the

00:44:50 --> 00:44:53

Quran in sha Allah tomorrow we discuss some of the other names of

00:44:53 --> 00:44:57

the Quran and then we will be moving into what the types of

00:44:57 --> 00:45:00

revelation how the physically how the revelation

00:45:00 --> 00:45:03

Shannon came down the province of Los Angeles what experience voice

00:45:03 --> 00:45:06

also would undergo what he would have to do to be able to receive

00:45:06 --> 00:45:09

this revelation and how it was processed by him and eventually

00:45:09 --> 00:45:13

transferred to us. May Allah subhanaw taala bless you all. And

00:45:13 --> 00:45:18

00:45:34 --> 00:45:37

on to others, just like a little head on a Salaam Alaikum

00:45:38 --> 00:45:39
