AI: Summary ©
The importance of being selfish and self-c centered in life is emphasized, along with the need for individuals to become themselves and not forget their selves. The shay component of the remorse of the malaise is by the way of remorse, and the shakiness of the remorse is by the way of remorse. The shakiness of the remorse is by the way of remorse, and the shakiness of the remorse is by the way of remorse.

00:00:29 --> 00:00:36

ICA Homoeo first Boone law yesterday us haben Rivas, Hubbell

00:00:36 --> 00:00:40

Jen, US have Origen natty who will

00:00:41 --> 00:00:43

is Zune

00:00:44 --> 00:00:47

so like hola hola. Wiem Dear brothers and sisters dear

00:00:47 --> 00:00:51

listeners dear friends Ramadan Mubarak to you all may Allah

00:00:51 --> 00:00:55

subhanaw taala accept from us. Today I want to discuss this

00:00:55 --> 00:01:00

particular verse or so little harsher it's verse 19. And that's

00:01:00 --> 00:01:04

chapter 59 Verse 19, Surah Al hasher

00:01:07 --> 00:01:11

Allah subhanho wa Taala says, And do not be like those who forget

00:01:11 --> 00:01:16

Allah, do not be like those who forget Allah. And then Allah cause

00:01:16 --> 00:01:20

them to forget themselves. So don't be like those who forgot

00:01:20 --> 00:01:23

Allah Subhan Allah cause them to forget themselves.

00:01:26 --> 00:01:30

And the people of hellfire, and the people of paradise cannot be

00:01:30 --> 00:01:31

equal.

00:01:33 --> 00:01:38

It's the people of paradise, who are going to be the victorious

00:01:38 --> 00:01:41

ones who are going to be the champion champions.

00:01:42 --> 00:01:48

So what we want to discuss in here is that the nature of man is to be

00:01:48 --> 00:01:51

self centered and to be selfish, that's the nature of man is to be

00:01:51 --> 00:01:56

self centered and selfish. Men, human beings, we're generally

00:01:56 --> 00:01:59

occupied with ourselves more than anybody else, we first think about

00:01:59 --> 00:02:00

ourselves.

00:02:02 --> 00:02:06

That's why anything that benefits us, we love it. And anything that

00:02:06 --> 00:02:10

we think is harmful to us or something, we don't like it. So

00:02:10 --> 00:02:13

we're very self centered in that regard. That's why if there's

00:02:13 --> 00:02:17

somebody who loves us, then we are drawn to them. And we weren't, we

00:02:17 --> 00:02:22

were not drawn to people who hate us. This is just kind of human

00:02:22 --> 00:02:22

nature.

00:02:24 --> 00:02:29

This self interest in human beings, it's what drives us to

00:02:29 --> 00:02:33

pursue a number of things, we do many things, you know, we earn a

00:02:33 --> 00:02:38

living, we sustain ourselves, we seek pleasure, we seek survival,

00:02:38 --> 00:02:42

we seek enhancement, we seek beauty, we seek benefits, and we

00:02:42 --> 00:02:44

do many of these things.

00:02:45 --> 00:02:49

Sometimes, though, our very selfish personal benefit, takes

00:02:49 --> 00:02:52

over everything. When it gets too much. It takes over everything.

00:02:53 --> 00:02:57

And a person will then neglect even their duties, even their

00:02:57 --> 00:03:01

responsibilities. There's, I mean, we get these questions, we get

00:03:01 --> 00:03:04

these issues all the time when dealing with marital conflicts and

00:03:04 --> 00:03:07

people's relationships, that there are people who are willing to

00:03:07 --> 00:03:13

disregard their spouse, their children, or their family members,

00:03:13 --> 00:03:17

relatives, at the expense of ensuring their own welfare.

00:03:18 --> 00:03:20

A lot of people do that. Now,

00:03:21 --> 00:03:25

just a little point on that about two relatives. Today, we are

00:03:25 --> 00:03:29

living in a time when people a lot of people actually relate much

00:03:29 --> 00:03:34

more to their personal friends, who are not related to them. I

00:03:34 --> 00:03:39

mean, who are not kin, who are not blood relatives of them, rather

00:03:39 --> 00:03:44

than be related to their actual relatives who they are bound to,

00:03:45 --> 00:03:49

who Allah subhanaw taala placed them among and who Allah subhanaw

00:03:49 --> 00:03:52

taala has brought them from, and it's something I want to mention

00:03:52 --> 00:03:56

that there's a huge benefits are Allah subhanaw taala has placed in

00:03:56 --> 00:04:01

that regard. And there's a lot of virtues that have been mentioned.

00:04:01 --> 00:04:05

And it mentions that whoever is good in their kinship, whoever

00:04:05 --> 00:04:11

ties their kinship, you know, whoever wants to have the effect

00:04:11 --> 00:04:15

be longer lasting. And that has been interpreted as the Prophet

00:04:15 --> 00:04:18

salallahu Alaihe Salam meaning that whoever wants a longer life

00:04:18 --> 00:04:21

or whoever wants to leave a legacy, whoever wants any effect

00:04:21 --> 00:04:24

of this to enjoy the lives should be good with their kin. Now

00:04:24 --> 00:04:27

there's nothing wrong with being good with friends and having

00:04:27 --> 00:04:29

friends. I mean, there's nothing wrong with that. Absolutely. I'm

00:04:29 --> 00:04:32

this is how we collaborate. We're humans. We are very social in that

00:04:32 --> 00:04:36

regard. And that's fine, but we cannot neglect our family. So a

00:04:36 --> 00:04:41

lot of the time due to personal interests, people negate a lot of

00:04:41 --> 00:04:44

these kinds of people that are supposed to be a responsibility

00:04:44 --> 00:04:46

for them. There are of course, some people totally on the

00:04:46 --> 00:04:49

opposite side who would actually even disregard their personal

00:04:49 --> 00:04:52

interest for the interest of others. There are the few who do

00:04:52 --> 00:04:56

that. They're very selfless people. They are totally focused

00:04:56 --> 00:04:59

on others, and in that they would even sacrifice

00:05:00 --> 00:05:03

So many things related to themselves, and they would

00:05:03 --> 00:05:07

sacrifice a lot of their own interests. Now, if we go back to

00:05:07 --> 00:05:11

the verse where Allah subhanaw taala says that don't be like

00:05:11 --> 00:05:15

those who forget Allah who forgot Allah and then Allah subhana wa

00:05:15 --> 00:05:15

Tada

00:05:17 --> 00:05:20

caused them to forget their own selves. And that's what we want to

00:05:20 --> 00:05:24

understand what did he mean by forgetting your own self. And I

00:05:24 --> 00:05:27

think the main understanding here is that a person forgetting their

00:05:27 --> 00:05:32

own self is forgetting to actually do for themselves what is actually

00:05:32 --> 00:05:36

really beneficial in the ultimate in the ultimate realm and the

00:05:36 --> 00:05:40

ultimate level of things, especially in terms of the

00:05:40 --> 00:05:44

hereafter. What is to my benefit, they forget about that what is

00:05:44 --> 00:05:47

really going to be their benefit. In the long run, there are so many

00:05:47 --> 00:05:51

people after they're 40 5060 years, and then they look back and

00:05:51 --> 00:05:55

they say, I've neglected my family. I neglected my religion, I

00:05:55 --> 00:06:00

neglected preparing for the hereafter. I was just indulgent. I

00:06:00 --> 00:06:03

was just indulgent. In myself, it was just about myself. There's

00:06:03 --> 00:06:06

many, many people who do that they've neglected or they've just

00:06:06 --> 00:06:08

not even been married. Or if they got married, they didn't have

00:06:08 --> 00:06:11

children. And now they're alone and they feel bad, and they feel

00:06:11 --> 00:06:15

that it's too late. And there's not enough time, there's people

00:06:15 --> 00:06:18

who wake up just about when they are when they become terminally

00:06:18 --> 00:06:18

ill.

00:06:20 --> 00:06:23

So what happens is that, uh, one of the things that a lot of people

00:06:23 --> 00:06:26

are forgetting about today, you know, in our materialistic world,

00:06:26 --> 00:06:31

consumer world, capitalist world, secular world, rather secular

00:06:31 --> 00:06:36

world is Allah subhanaw taala, and God who's our Creator, and is

00:06:36 --> 00:06:40

exactly what Allah subhanaw taala says that don't be of those who

00:06:40 --> 00:06:43

forgotten God who forgotten Allah subhanho wa taala, then he'll make

00:06:43 --> 00:06:47

you forget yourself. So there's many people who have banished God

00:06:47 --> 00:06:51

from their life, I mean, whole communities whole people of

00:06:51 --> 00:06:53

countries have done this, even though they may consider

00:06:53 --> 00:06:57

themselves to be Christian, they may consider themselves to be

00:06:57 --> 00:07:00

Jewish, they may consider themselves to be Muslim, but the

00:07:00 --> 00:07:03

materialistic side of themselves have taken over to such a degree

00:07:03 --> 00:07:06

that they don't think about Allah subhanaw taala they don't think

00:07:06 --> 00:07:09

about God that they actually profess to even believe. And then

00:07:09 --> 00:07:11

of course, there's a rise in atheism, there's a rise in people

00:07:11 --> 00:07:14

who deny God who don't believe in a supreme being, who believe it's

00:07:14 --> 00:07:19

only about, you know, humans, and it's only us and there's nobody

00:07:19 --> 00:07:21

else. And we should only do that, which is for ourselves. So

00:07:21 --> 00:07:25

material things, material objects, material pursuits, it's what

00:07:25 --> 00:07:29

becomes the objective of their life, and they become an end in

00:07:29 --> 00:07:33

themselves. Now, missing material objects are absolutely necessary

00:07:33 --> 00:07:36

in this world for us to function and for us to lead a life. And for

00:07:36 --> 00:07:40

us to, to lead a life in this world. They're absolutely

00:07:40 --> 00:07:43

necessary. But the material objects that we have, the clothing

00:07:43 --> 00:07:47

that we wear, the cars that we have, and the other monies that we

00:07:47 --> 00:07:51

amass, and all of this, they're not a means in themselves, that's

00:07:51 --> 00:07:54

not the objective. And today, we're living in a time when

00:07:54 --> 00:07:59

everything becomes an objective. So for example, when buying a

00:07:59 --> 00:08:04

stock in a company buying shares in a company was supposed to be an

00:08:04 --> 00:08:08

interest in that company, you find out what this company is doing,

00:08:08 --> 00:08:10

you find out what kind of their,

00:08:11 --> 00:08:14

what their balance sheet looks like, what their future looks

00:08:14 --> 00:08:18

like. And then you buy in the in the hope that you know, you become

00:08:18 --> 00:08:21

a partner in that business, however small. However, what's

00:08:21 --> 00:08:27

coming today is this whole aspect of day trading, where you hardly

00:08:27 --> 00:08:30

even look at what the company does, it's just the name many

00:08:30 --> 00:08:33

stock traders is what they do is just the name for them. And all

00:08:33 --> 00:08:35

they're buying is that they've seen that it's they've just seen

00:08:35 --> 00:08:39

that it's riding high right now, it's going high. And that's why

00:08:39 --> 00:08:42

they buy in there and they want to sell immediately. So the actual

00:08:42 --> 00:08:45

share, which is not supposed to be a commodity, which is actually

00:08:45 --> 00:08:49

supposed to be a partnership has actually become a commodity of

00:08:49 --> 00:08:52

exchange. So it's just a piece of paper. It's just something that

00:08:52 --> 00:08:54

somebody's going to tell you the stock exchange is going to tell

00:08:54 --> 00:08:57

you that you own this now, right? That's what people are trading.

00:08:58 --> 00:09:03

Today people are buying and selling NF TS basically. Now I'm

00:09:03 --> 00:09:05

not saying here that it's maybe halal or haram. That's not the

00:09:05 --> 00:09:09

discussion here. The discussion is that you've got so much self

00:09:09 --> 00:09:13

centered, egotistical ideas here. And emotions hear that you're

00:09:13 --> 00:09:17

actually just willing to buy something to have bragging rights,

00:09:17 --> 00:09:20

right? Or in the interest that that might become property that

00:09:20 --> 00:09:24

might become something that becomes something of value, even

00:09:24 --> 00:09:25

though it has no

00:09:27 --> 00:09:30

it has no substance. It's just the fact that that's the first tweet,

00:09:31 --> 00:09:35

or that's a particular design. Everybody knows about that design.

00:09:35 --> 00:09:38

Everybody can access it, they can download it, they can use it, but

00:09:38 --> 00:09:42

because you're the owner of it, right, so you can see where this

00:09:42 --> 00:09:47

is going that it's the reality is getting blurred. There's a

00:09:47 --> 00:09:51

blurring of reality as to what reality is. And this virtual world

00:09:51 --> 00:09:56

is actually overcoming us and overwhelming us in in various

00:09:56 --> 00:10:00

different in various different ways. When we get lost in this

00:10:00 --> 00:10:05

mais of materialism, right, which is essentially what shaytan wants

00:10:05 --> 00:10:08

from us, and that's what it is when a person forgets Allah,

00:10:09 --> 00:10:12

because when a person is centered on Allah subhana, WA Tada, their

00:10:12 --> 00:10:15

focus is centered on Allah, they generally balanced, they're not

00:10:15 --> 00:10:19

going to have that even if they do get distracted once in a while,

00:10:19 --> 00:10:22

they'll they'll actually come back. So what happens is that,

00:10:22 --> 00:10:26

ultimately, while we make a mess, many material things in our

00:10:26 --> 00:10:29

pursuits and everything, eventually, what's going to happen

00:10:29 --> 00:10:33

is that it's going to result in a crisis, because goodness, and

00:10:33 --> 00:10:39

virtue and solace and comfort has not been written in these things.

00:10:39 --> 00:10:42

They're not inherent in these things. They're just for quick

00:10:42 --> 00:10:46

fixes. They're just for quick excitement. The point of material

00:10:46 --> 00:10:49

things is to give us a bus straightaway is to fulfill a

00:10:49 --> 00:10:53

particular need. It does not answer all the questions of our

00:10:53 --> 00:10:56

life, the the longing of the soul for happiness, and rest and

00:10:56 --> 00:11:01

comfort. And it doesn't, it doesn't give that that's why God

00:11:01 --> 00:11:05

becomes replaced with all of these things, even for believers, even

00:11:05 --> 00:11:08

those who consider themselves to be believers. And then eventually,

00:11:08 --> 00:11:10

that leads to a self destruction. And that's what Allah subhanho wa

00:11:10 --> 00:11:14

Taala is saying that we're going to cause them to

00:11:15 --> 00:11:17

answer home and foster home, we're going to cause them to forget

00:11:17 --> 00:11:20

themselves. So what really benefits them, they will, they

00:11:20 --> 00:11:22

will stop focusing about it, they'll be focusing on just

00:11:22 --> 00:11:26

instant gratitude, just quick things that they can get a quick

00:11:26 --> 00:11:32

buzz by now. So what you have now is just not a few people who are,

00:11:32 --> 00:11:34

who are, you know, it's just not a few people in the community who

00:11:34 --> 00:11:36

are self centered.

00:11:37 --> 00:11:40

But rather, you know, whole community, sometimes whole

00:11:40 --> 00:11:44

civilizations are like that, that everything runs on on these

00:11:44 --> 00:11:44

things.

00:11:45 --> 00:11:49

And what's going to happen is that based on that, there's just newer

00:11:49 --> 00:11:52

forms of entertainment, newer forms of luxury and comfort that

00:11:52 --> 00:11:56

are produced for us each day. And even though what we have is

00:11:56 --> 00:11:59

completely satisfactory, you know, we'd want the next thing because

00:11:59 --> 00:12:02

it just looks slightly different, it looks a bit more modern, it

00:12:02 --> 00:12:05

looks a bit more sleek, or it just looks different. To be honest, it

00:12:05 --> 00:12:09

just looks different. That's why because humans do get tired of

00:12:09 --> 00:12:11

things, they do get tired of things, especially if they're

00:12:11 --> 00:12:16

people who always like to be who like new things. That's when it

00:12:16 --> 00:12:21

gets very, very complicated. So people don't pay much attention to

00:12:21 --> 00:12:23

the ultimate end, they forget about that. And that's Allah

00:12:23 --> 00:12:26

subhanho wa taala, making them forget because they forgot about

00:12:26 --> 00:12:29

Allah subhanaw taala there's another verse in the Quran where

00:12:29 --> 00:12:32

Allah subhanho wa Taala says, Well, I mean, yeah, Shu, and

00:12:32 --> 00:12:35

Vickery, Rama and Enoch Aida, who shaytaan. And for whoever, who

00:12:35 --> 00:12:39

Corinne, which complements this verse that whoever remains away

00:12:39 --> 00:12:42

whoever shuns and stays away from the remembrance of Allah, then we

00:12:42 --> 00:12:46

will designate a shaytaan for them, a devil for them, who will

00:12:46 --> 00:12:50

become their Corinne and a very close accomplice. Now, you know,

00:12:50 --> 00:12:54

you may have seen people who have sometimes become, have come under

00:12:54 --> 00:12:59

the spell of someone. And despite all reasonable explanation, they

00:12:59 --> 00:13:02

don't understand because they like, no, that person is correct,

00:13:02 --> 00:13:05

because they just saw bewitched by somebody, and their explanations

00:13:05 --> 00:13:08

of something, or their understanding of something, and

00:13:08 --> 00:13:12

everybody else knows that you're totally lost, right? It's that

00:13:12 --> 00:13:15

kind of a thing where a person becomes so under the spell of

00:13:15 --> 00:13:19

shaytan, that they actually don't even think about anything else. So

00:13:19 --> 00:13:23

this is a really interesting verse, the person eventually

00:13:23 --> 00:13:27

becomes like a robot, right? What they're doing is they have no real

00:13:27 --> 00:13:29

feelings and emotions, their feelings and emotions have been

00:13:29 --> 00:13:33

overcome by sense of self entertainment and self

00:13:33 --> 00:13:38

fulfillment. And so gratitude, which are really not the kind of

00:13:38 --> 00:13:42

emotions that a person wants to live this life with, because we

00:13:42 --> 00:13:45

live with other people, we live for another life, you know, there

00:13:45 --> 00:13:49

is another life to come. And a self centered life in this world

00:13:49 --> 00:13:51

doesn't give us any benefit in the hereafter.

00:13:53 --> 00:13:57

So basically, life will become mechanical in that regard. And as

00:13:57 --> 00:14:00

long as a person's basic needs are being met, that's all they're

00:14:00 --> 00:14:03

worried about just waking up in the morning to go and do that. And

00:14:03 --> 00:14:06

then after to enjoy what they have. And then and then I'm not

00:14:06 --> 00:14:09

saying you can't enjoy, but that's all their focus becomes, right.

00:14:11 --> 00:14:15

Another part of this is that when a person becomes totally bound,

00:14:15 --> 00:14:19

right, ruthlessly bound by social custom, custom, which is wrong

00:14:19 --> 00:14:23

custom of their tribe, custom of their community custom of their

00:14:23 --> 00:14:26

country, right to such a degree that they feel debilitated, that

00:14:26 --> 00:14:29

they can't do anything different, even though sometimes when they

00:14:29 --> 00:14:32

wake up in the morning or last thing at night, they do realize

00:14:32 --> 00:14:35

that they're being suffocated, that they'd rather do something

00:14:35 --> 00:14:38

else they'd rather be free. However, they don't understand

00:14:38 --> 00:14:42

that. So these customers, they obliged them to live a certain

00:14:42 --> 00:14:43

life,

00:14:44 --> 00:14:48

to work for themselves to work for others, and all of this energy is

00:14:48 --> 00:14:51

then spent for the sake of others to make them happy, so that they

00:14:51 --> 00:14:57

can approve of you. Right. So a person then lacks, you know, to

00:14:57 --> 00:14:59

have spiritual solace and spiritual come

00:15:00 --> 00:15:03

That's right. They're not their own person. They're always worried

00:15:03 --> 00:15:05

about other people. They're always worried about what others will

00:15:05 --> 00:15:09

think. There's no peace of mind. And there's no love and joy.

00:15:09 --> 00:15:12

There's no true love and joy because it's always tainted with

00:15:12 --> 00:15:16

something. A person has little time for the higher aspects of

00:15:16 --> 00:15:21

life, for the future, for the hereafter, which is so important

00:15:21 --> 00:15:25

for the for the Muslim for the believer, the hereafter, which is

00:15:25 --> 00:15:30

our real life, and we shouldn't be the eternal life. So this sense of

00:15:30 --> 00:15:34

general apathy is everywhere. And very few people are actually

00:15:34 --> 00:15:37

concerned about this open rebellion against Allah, it's an

00:15:37 --> 00:15:40

open rebellion against Allah because Allah has given us so

00:15:40 --> 00:15:43

much, and yet we've disregarded him in that regard.

00:15:44 --> 00:15:49

A person, all of these things will blind us to the noble objective.

00:15:49 --> 00:15:51

What's really interesting about the modern world is that mashallah

00:15:51 --> 00:15:56

we have an abundance of good medicine, health care, and food

00:15:56 --> 00:16:01

items. And yet, we don't enjoy good health. There's a problem.

00:16:02 --> 00:16:04

Many people don't enjoy good health, even though we have such

00:16:04 --> 00:16:08

sophisticated foods, such sophisticated ingredients. And yet

00:16:08 --> 00:16:13

people before in many, many other places, even now have just simple

00:16:13 --> 00:16:17

foods, and they have less diseases. Subhanallah, right. We

00:16:17 --> 00:16:21

have so many comforts, we have so many comforts. But,

00:16:22 --> 00:16:26

for example, we can travel the world, we can speak to the world,

00:16:26 --> 00:16:28

and we're doing this exactly right now, this would have been unheard

00:16:28 --> 00:16:32

of 100 years ago, you know, three 400 years ago, totally even

00:16:32 --> 00:16:35

unfathomable. Today, I'm speaking to people all over the place, we

00:16:35 --> 00:16:39

can communicate, right at the call of a button, you don't even have

00:16:39 --> 00:16:43

to pay for it, you know, for each minutes anymore. It's so easy to

00:16:43 --> 00:16:46

get your message to the world to understand what other people's

00:16:46 --> 00:16:49

messages from around the world. If there's a person who dies, the

00:16:49 --> 00:16:52

news gets everywhere, mashallah, there's some potential, there's

00:16:52 --> 00:16:55

some good benefits to that as well. But despite all of that,

00:16:55 --> 00:16:58

what we've seen as is that human relationships are becoming more

00:16:58 --> 00:17:02

and more devoid of love and affection. It's confusing people.

00:17:03 --> 00:17:05

So the people who you're supposed to be close to, sometimes you're

00:17:05 --> 00:17:08

breaking up with them, and yet you're fine with others. There is

00:17:08 --> 00:17:10

a narration which actually says that one of the signs basically

00:17:10 --> 00:17:14

before they have judgment is that you will bring your friends close,

00:17:14 --> 00:17:18

and you will distance your parents, you will distance your

00:17:18 --> 00:17:21

close ones. And that's exactly what's happening. People are

00:17:21 --> 00:17:24

sitting in the same room in the same house, and they can't hold a

00:17:24 --> 00:17:27

conversation with them. And yet, they can hold a conversation with

00:17:27 --> 00:17:30

all the world in on places like Twitter, and Facebook, and

00:17:30 --> 00:17:33

Instagram, and they can display to the whole world their lives in

00:17:33 --> 00:17:38

that sense, or at least one aspect of their life. You know, before in

00:17:38 --> 00:17:42

a simple village, it was difficult to get information, right from the

00:17:42 --> 00:17:46

next village. Today, you can get knowledge and information and news

00:17:46 --> 00:17:50

from around the world. You know, you have your BBC and CNN and

00:17:50 --> 00:17:54

everything else yet you don't trust the news. This is such a

00:17:54 --> 00:17:59

weird relationship we have that we many, many people do not trust,

00:18:00 --> 00:18:04

the do not trust the news. They don't trust many, many news

00:18:04 --> 00:18:07

outlets, but yet they still have to go to them for the news because

00:18:07 --> 00:18:08

they dominate.

00:18:09 --> 00:18:13

And it's like when we read the news, we have a mixed emotion and

00:18:13 --> 00:18:16

mixed reaction should I accept the shouldn't accept this, we forget

00:18:16 --> 00:18:19

many of the times that the news could be tainted.

00:18:20 --> 00:18:23

Good news is difficulty. Good news is very difficult.

00:18:25 --> 00:18:28

And people are tired of false news. They're tired of abundant

00:18:28 --> 00:18:32

news. They're tired of spin. They're tired of new spin. They're

00:18:32 --> 00:18:35

tired of politicians, they're tired of many, many different

00:18:35 --> 00:18:35

things.

00:18:37 --> 00:18:40

Life has pretty much lost its purpose in that sense, and its

00:18:40 --> 00:18:42

direction and its meaning.

00:18:43 --> 00:18:47

That's why Allah subhanaw taala is reminding us here, that the only

00:18:47 --> 00:18:51

way out of this malaise the only way out of this problem and this

00:18:51 --> 00:18:56

decaying problem that we have is by remembrance of Allah subhanaw

00:18:56 --> 00:18:59

taala the benefit of the remembrance of Allah subhanaw

00:18:59 --> 00:19:02

taala is that it will ground us and it will give us an

00:19:02 --> 00:19:05

understanding of where we're supposed to go it will remind us

00:19:05 --> 00:19:09

of who our Creator is, it will humble us, it will keep us humble.

00:19:09 --> 00:19:14

Inshallah, it will it will stop us from being so self centered, and

00:19:14 --> 00:19:18

SubhanAllah. I mean, how many a problem there is today? How many a

00:19:18 --> 00:19:21

problem there is today, right? People have people have so many

00:19:21 --> 00:19:27

things that they have. Netflix, Amazon Prime consumerism Black

00:19:27 --> 00:19:29

Friday sales.

00:19:30 --> 00:19:34

Ramadan is probably the only time when this heedless diminishes a

00:19:34 --> 00:19:39

bit. Where you see so many more people in the masjid. Right the

00:19:39 --> 00:19:41

neighbors of the masjid you suddenly start seeing them in the

00:19:41 --> 00:19:44

masjid. Right, you suddenly start seeing people a bit more

00:19:44 --> 00:19:47

religious, a bit more generous, a bit more giving a bit more focused

00:19:47 --> 00:19:50

on others because the shaytaan is out of the way. That's a proof

00:19:50 --> 00:19:54

itself that the shaytaan is the shaytaan is causing much of this.

00:19:55 --> 00:19:59

A person who has a heart attack at the age of 70 years old as soon as

00:19:59 --> 00:19:59

he can

00:20:00 --> 00:20:03

It's out of his coma as soon as he comes out of his operation, his

00:20:03 --> 00:20:05

surgery is worried about where his stocks are.

00:20:06 --> 00:20:11

There are land grab issues, right brothers, fighting with their own

00:20:11 --> 00:20:14

brothers and sisters, you know, brothers and sisters fighting with

00:20:14 --> 00:20:18

one another over their father's wealth, just to get that bit

00:20:18 --> 00:20:22

extra, sometimes actually children fighting with their parents for

00:20:22 --> 00:20:28

for a greater share in something just disputed properties. What

00:20:28 --> 00:20:31

kind of a life of reliving the only way an anecdote is as Allah

00:20:31 --> 00:20:35

subhanaw taala is saying is that don't forget Allah. Don't forget

00:20:35 --> 00:20:38

Allah because when you forget Allah, Allah will make you forget

00:20:38 --> 00:20:41

yourself and forget what's in your best interest. So may Allah

00:20:41 --> 00:20:44

subhanaw taala make us of the people of paradise and those who

00:20:44 --> 00:20:47

remember him and those who are grateful to him and those who

00:20:47 --> 00:20:50

focus on the Hereafter. May Allah preserve us from all of these

00:20:50 --> 00:20:53

ills. It's a really a time of reflection Ramadan is and may

00:20:53 --> 00:20:56

Allah subhanho wa Taala give us reality in this. Well, I can read

00:20:56 --> 00:20:59

that one and Al hamdu Lillahi Rabbil Alameen May Allah subhanho

00:20:59 --> 00:21:03

wa Taala bless you all. And please pray for us as well. As salam o

00:21:03 --> 00:21:05

aleikum wa rahmatullah wa barakato.

00:21:07 --> 00:21:11

The point of a lecture is to encourage people to act to get

00:21:11 --> 00:21:16

further and inspiration and encouragement, persuasion. The

00:21:16 --> 00:21:20

next step is to actually start learning seriously to read books

00:21:20 --> 00:21:23

to take on a subject of Islam and to understand all the subjects of

00:21:23 --> 00:21:27

Islam at least at the basic level, so that we can become more aware

00:21:27 --> 00:21:31

of what our deen wants from us. And that's why we started Rayyan

00:21:31 --> 00:21:36

courses so that you can actually take organize lectures on demand

00:21:36 --> 00:21:39

whenever you have free time, especially for example, the

00:21:39 --> 00:21:43

Islamic essentials course that we have on the Islamic essentials

00:21:43 --> 00:21:48

certificate which you take 20 Short modules and at the end of

00:21:48 --> 00:21:53

that insha Allah you will have gotten the basics of most of the

00:21:53 --> 00:21:56

most important topics in Islam and you'll feel a lot more confident.

00:21:56 --> 00:21:58

You don't have to leave lectures behind you can continue to live,

00:21:59 --> 00:22:01

you know, to listen to lectures, but you need to have this more

00:22:01 --> 00:22:05

sustained study as well as local law here in salaam aleikum wa

00:22:05 --> 00:22:06

rahmatullah wa barakato.
