If a person misses Fajr congregation due to
having woken up for Tahajjud and prayed Fajr
at the start time, would this be acceptable?
That's always been a bit of a dilemma
because all of our masajid pray towards the
end of times.
And I think, and I'm going to mention
this, I think at least one masjid in
every locality, you know, especially when you have
5-10 masjids in a locality, at least
there should be one masjid that prays at
an early time, to cater for those people
who do Tahajjud.
Right?
They should really do that.
At least a small masjid should do that,
they should be bold enough to do that.
I know it's not afdal in the Hanafi
school, but with our times, we can't have
a full routine of the year, because our
times fluctuate in Fajr from sunrise at 4
.30 or 4.20 or whatever it is,
to about 8 o'clock in the morning.
And it's very difficult throughout the year to
have a routine and work and so on,
whereas in countries closer to the equator, like
in the subcontinent, India, Pakistan, Saudi, etc., it's
possible to have a routine throughout the year.
So that's why I think, while it's afdal
in the Hanafi school to make Fajr later,
but then it's difficult to do Tahajjud as
well then.
So I think in that case, it would
be better to do Tahajjud and an early
Fajr in Jama'ah somewhere.
So a masjid should cater for that.
JazakAllah Khairan.
