Bismillah learn your Walkman you're watching I'm

00:00:10 --> 00:00:13

Al hamdu Lillahi Rabbil Alameen wa Salatu was Salam ala Sayyidina

00:00:13 --> 00:00:17

Muhammad wa ala alihi wa sahbihi albaraka was a limit to slim and

00:00:17 --> 00:00:19

Kofi Ron Ilario, within another part of

00:00:23 --> 00:00:25

as we go through this life,

00:00:27 --> 00:00:31

there are many issues that we have to deal with. And I think one of

00:00:31 --> 00:00:37

the most difficult things are when calamity is difficulties, when

00:00:37 --> 00:00:41

things don't seem to be going right when that afflicts us. And

00:00:41 --> 00:00:45

that's just as an essential part of this life. That's what happens

00:00:45 --> 00:00:46

in this life.

00:00:47 --> 00:00:51

It's not something that the majority of us can avoid at some

00:00:51 --> 00:00:53

time or another, there's going to be some kind of difficulty, some

00:00:53 --> 00:00:57

kind of calamity, things are not going to go as writers as they as

00:00:57 --> 00:00:59

they are, in fact, according to

00:01:02 --> 00:01:07

according to some understanding, if things are going too well, and

00:01:07 --> 00:01:11

we're not really getting better in our faith, then that actually

00:01:11 --> 00:01:15

could be a delusion. And that could actually be just Allah

00:01:15 --> 00:01:19

subhanaw taala, giving us respite until another time, until a time

00:01:19 --> 00:01:23

when we become even more indulgent. So that's something to

00:01:23 --> 00:01:27

be concerned about. What I want to speak about today are two

00:01:29 --> 00:01:33

concepts which are, you can say opposed to each other, and we need

00:01:33 --> 00:01:36

to understand both of them so that we can be successful in this

00:01:36 --> 00:01:37

world.

00:01:38 --> 00:01:44

Firstly, there's this concept of jazz and Sheikha jazz that means

00:01:44 --> 00:01:47

restlessness, and restlessness. What we're speaking about

00:01:47 --> 00:01:51

restlessness is when a person is restless, and they're not content,

00:01:52 --> 00:01:57

they don't have patience, and they are constantly agitated, for the

00:01:57 --> 00:02:01

wrong reasons because they think that Allah subhanaw taala is not

00:02:01 --> 00:02:03

taking care of them, they think that things are going to wrong

00:02:03 --> 00:02:06

things aren't going the way they are, and then that leads them to

00:02:06 --> 00:02:09

shake well or complaints. So what we've got is we've got the concept

00:02:09 --> 00:02:12

of restlessness, frustration,

00:02:13 --> 00:02:17

despondency, which leads to complaining against Allah subhanaw

00:02:17 --> 00:02:22

taala. And the way some scholars have defined that is in Arabic,

00:02:22 --> 00:02:27

they're saying either mu Adam outta humble Mahan, which is the

00:02:27 --> 00:02:32

none ability to tolerate or deal with calamities when they befall

00:02:32 --> 00:02:36

us when Messiah. So calamities are difficulties whenever we're

00:02:36 --> 00:02:40

afflicted by them, if we don't have the ability to deal with

00:02:40 --> 00:02:44

them, tolerate them, understand how to go about them. That's the

00:02:44 --> 00:02:48

main thing I think. Allah subhanaw taala speaks about those who are

00:02:48 --> 00:02:52

patient in the Quran by by saying that those are the people who are

00:02:52 --> 00:02:55

truly guided. And the reason why they're truly guided is because

00:02:55 --> 00:02:58

they know how to deal with anything that happens in this

00:02:58 --> 00:03:00

world. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said Archer

00:03:00 --> 00:03:05

Burnley, I'm really hoping such a such a fascinating affair, it is

00:03:05 --> 00:03:07

for the believer, because when he does good,

00:03:08 --> 00:03:13

then that when not when, when a calamity hits them, and they make

00:03:13 --> 00:03:17

sober, that's good for them. And when they're in prosperity, which

00:03:17 --> 00:03:20

means when something good happens to them, and they're thankful they

00:03:20 --> 00:03:24

do sugar, then that's also good for them. And if you if we're to

00:03:24 --> 00:03:27

survey our lives, we'll see that it's quite our situation is going

00:03:27 --> 00:03:30

to be either one or the or the other, it's going to be at some

00:03:30 --> 00:03:33

shade of this or the other. So if a person doesn't know how to deal

00:03:33 --> 00:03:37

with calamities, and they become despondent, restless, hopeless,

00:03:37 --> 00:03:42

and frustrated, then it means that they are in this state of

00:03:42 --> 00:03:44

disarray, which is the opposite of stubborn impatience. And that

00:03:44 --> 00:03:49

means that they don't have the ability to, to find a way in this

00:03:49 --> 00:03:54

world, and they don't know what to do next. It's essentially like, if

00:03:55 --> 00:03:59

you if we're driving along, and suddenly the car breaks down, and

00:03:59 --> 00:04:02

we just sit there in this restless, agitated state, not

00:04:02 --> 00:04:07

knowing what to do, then that you can you can correlate that state

00:04:07 --> 00:04:11

to this. However, if you know immediately what to do, that you,

00:04:12 --> 00:04:16

you know, open up the, you know, you get the spare tire, or if

00:04:16 --> 00:04:19

it's, if it's a tire blowout, if it's something else, you call

00:04:19 --> 00:04:21

somebody, immediately, you're trying to do something you're

00:04:21 --> 00:04:24

calling out to Allah subhanaw taala. You've got trust, you've

00:04:24 --> 00:04:28

got you're not restless. Yes, you're a bit. You're a bit

00:04:28 --> 00:04:30

troubled, obviously, because it's a trouble isn't you know, nobody

00:04:30 --> 00:04:33

likes to break down somewhere. But at the end of the day, you know

00:04:33 --> 00:04:36

how to deal with it, or you think you do so you don't restless you

00:04:36 --> 00:04:40

actually go and you do something about it. And most likely, in that

00:04:40 --> 00:04:42

case, you can do something positive about it. Now, imagine

00:04:42 --> 00:04:45

that if that happened, and we just go totally the wrong way and you

00:04:45 --> 00:04:49

just sit down and you know, do something even worse. You can

00:04:49 --> 00:04:52

imagine that that kind of a parallel. If we look at the

00:04:52 --> 00:04:55

calamities in our life, it's just like a car breaking down, right if

00:04:55 --> 00:04:58

something else happens to us as well, we know how to we should

00:04:58 --> 00:04:59

know how to deal with it and

00:05:01 --> 00:05:04

We should call out to Allah subhanho wa taala. And that's

00:05:04 --> 00:05:07

that's what we're speaking about here. So Java or restlessness in

00:05:07 --> 00:05:12

Arabic refers to not having the ability to tolerate or deal with

00:05:13 --> 00:05:16

calamities and difficulties. And then over and beyond that, what is

00:05:16 --> 00:05:21

Haru Homer golden Oh fairland says that's what are the must say that,

00:05:22 --> 00:05:24

then you express them you go around telling everybody about

00:05:24 --> 00:05:28

them, you make a big deal out of them either in statement or

00:05:28 --> 00:05:31

inaction. So you know, you're, you're constantly in misery or

00:05:31 --> 00:05:35

you're always showing this depressed attitude. This is that

00:05:35 --> 00:05:36

the blood urine,

00:05:37 --> 00:05:41

right in this state of in the state of complaint, or,

00:05:42 --> 00:05:46

or the state of restlessness and not really showing that you're,

00:05:46 --> 00:05:48

you're in control. So it's

00:05:49 --> 00:05:53

the Durham more it's like you're annoyed. That's the worst part of

00:05:53 --> 00:05:57

it, to show annoyance with Allah subhanaw taala. And although a

00:05:57 --> 00:06:00

person may not be directing their annoyance to Allah subhanaw taala

00:06:00 --> 00:06:04

not being able to deal with calamities when they come and not

00:06:04 --> 00:06:07

being able to deal with them properly and correctly and showing

00:06:07 --> 00:06:10

annoyance, even though we're not really directing to Allah subhanaw

00:06:10 --> 00:06:13

taala that's essentially what it is. Because every calamity comes

00:06:13 --> 00:06:17

from Allah subhanho wa taala. The word masiva itself means something

00:06:17 --> 00:06:21

that hits the marks or the that means a calamity. If it's coming

00:06:21 --> 00:06:24

for us, then it's coming for us. We need to, to know how to deal

00:06:24 --> 00:06:28

with it. And we need to know that Allah subhanho wa Taala intends

00:06:28 --> 00:06:31

this for us. And we need to then speak to Allah subhanaw taala to

00:06:31 --> 00:06:35

deal with it. So showing annoyance is going to be a major problem.

00:06:36 --> 00:06:40

And then the opposite the opposite of this state, right? The opposite

00:06:40 --> 00:06:45

of the state is called sober. So that's what somebody sober is not

00:06:45 --> 00:06:52

to be annoyed, not to be not not to express it openly, in a way of

00:06:52 --> 00:06:55

complaint. However, if a person wants to go and express their

00:06:55 --> 00:07:01

problem to a counselor, to a friend, to the doctor, to a

00:07:01 --> 00:07:04

physician, to an expert to a specialist, there's nothing wrong

00:07:04 --> 00:07:07

with that, because all you're looking for is solutions. So So

00:07:07 --> 00:07:10

when when it says that you shouldn't express your masiva you

00:07:10 --> 00:07:12

should express your calamities, it's saying don't do it in an

00:07:13 --> 00:07:17

annoyed way. Don't do it in a way that seems like you're becoming

00:07:17 --> 00:07:19

despondent and you're complaining against Allah subhana wa Tada. But

00:07:19 --> 00:07:22

if you do it to get help, then there's nothing wrong with that.

00:07:22 --> 00:07:27

So that's completely fine. So then it's it's sober and sober

00:07:27 --> 00:07:30

essentially means normally we understand sober, obviously as

00:07:30 --> 00:07:35

being patient in calamities. That's is one of the major aspects

00:07:35 --> 00:07:38

of sober and patients have to knifes the annual GSR, that's,

00:07:38 --> 00:07:42

that's essentially what it means, which is to control the cell from

00:07:42 --> 00:07:46

not becoming agitated, control the self from not becoming restless,

00:07:47 --> 00:07:50

and falling down into a complaining mood. That's what

00:07:50 --> 00:07:53

submarines in general in this sense,

00:07:54 --> 00:08:01

it's a means for a person to become strong in

00:08:03 --> 00:08:07

another meaning of solder is that a person is has the strength to go

00:08:07 --> 00:08:12

against the, the shower of the enough's enough to desire

00:08:12 --> 00:08:15

something. So instead of that the person is

00:08:16 --> 00:08:21

having patients instead and not falling into the vein desire that

00:08:22 --> 00:08:26

where they may take them. If you look at the human being, that's

00:08:26 --> 00:08:29

what the human being is all about. There's a number of things about

00:08:29 --> 00:08:32

the human being that differentiates us from the angels

00:08:32 --> 00:08:37

and from the animals. If you look at the animals, their state is

00:08:37 --> 00:08:41

they have shower biller AKA, what that means is that they have just

00:08:41 --> 00:08:46

desire, a need to fulfill something to eat to, you know, to

00:08:46 --> 00:08:50

eat to, to fulfill themselves, in some way or the other without AKA,

00:08:50 --> 00:08:52

they don't have intelligence. They're not intelligent beings.

00:08:52 --> 00:08:57

Right? So animals and beasts, they are Shaohua, which means desire

00:08:57 --> 00:09:01

without any intelligence, so they don't have reason as such, right?

00:09:02 --> 00:09:04

You know, try to reason with a cow, you know, try to reason with

00:09:04 --> 00:09:07

a camel. It just it just doesn't work. You know, they have to be

00:09:07 --> 00:09:10

driven in a particular way. They have to be trained otherwise. The

00:09:10 --> 00:09:13

angels have Appleby, la Shaha. So the angels are totally opposed to

00:09:13 --> 00:09:16

beasts, which means that they have occult they have they're fully

00:09:16 --> 00:09:20

reasonable intellectual individuals, right beings, and

00:09:20 --> 00:09:23

they have no shadow, no desire, because they follow whatever Allah

00:09:23 --> 00:09:26

subhanaw taala tells them completely. So that's, that's the

00:09:26 --> 00:09:30

angel, then the human is actually a cross between the two. The human

00:09:31 --> 00:09:34

has both so they have alcohol and they have desire, but we're told

00:09:34 --> 00:09:38

how to deal with it. So sober is actually the tool. Patience is the

00:09:38 --> 00:09:42

tool that will keep the the Archon

00:09:43 --> 00:09:47

over the shower. So desire is there. It's necessary to have

00:09:47 --> 00:09:52

desire as well, but it needs to be directed by one's uncle by one's

00:09:52 --> 00:09:56

intellect and the uncle needs to be nurtured through the Sharia. So

00:09:56 --> 00:10:00

just so we're not speaking in an agnostic or in

00:10:00 --> 00:10:02

In an atheistic sense, where we say that, you know, somebody

00:10:03 --> 00:10:08

should intellectually govern their desire, but the internet, at the

00:10:08 --> 00:10:11

end of the day our intellect is going to be nurtured and tempered

00:10:11 --> 00:10:15

by whatever we believe our theology our understanding our our

00:10:15 --> 00:10:19

belief system, right. So, our belief system needs to be correct

00:10:19 --> 00:10:23

so that our apple will be used in the right direction otherwise, an

00:10:23 --> 00:10:27

unfettered reason, unfettered intelligence, unfettered Arkell is

00:10:27 --> 00:10:31

also problematic. Right? So

00:10:32 --> 00:10:37

that is why for us to become proper human beings and to live up

00:10:37 --> 00:10:41

to that fact of being an insert our actual needs to overcome our

00:10:41 --> 00:10:45

desire and our shadow. And that's, that's extremely important, so

00:10:45 --> 00:10:48

that we're more closer to the angelic side than to the beast,

00:10:48 --> 00:10:52

the side of the beast, ALLAH SubhanA wa Tada, Allah subhanho wa

00:10:52 --> 00:10:55

Taala mentions in NAMA, you offer sabe Runa. Jerome, the lady who

00:10:55 --> 00:10:59

served and that is to tell us the value of patience. Now, you know,

00:10:59 --> 00:11:01

I'm telling you about patients, right? I'm telling your patients

00:11:01 --> 00:11:04

but you're probably wondering, what do I get out of being

00:11:04 --> 00:11:08

patient? I understand that the it's the higher calling, I

00:11:08 --> 00:11:11

understand that it's the higher level to reach. I understand that

00:11:11 --> 00:11:15

it's something that is of a very noble level. But why what do I get

00:11:15 --> 00:11:17

out of it? Aside from the nobility? I mean, there's a

00:11:17 --> 00:11:21

difficulty in place I'm facing I'm confronting difficulties. So why

00:11:21 --> 00:11:23

are you telling me to make supper? What do I get out of making

00:11:23 --> 00:11:27

supper, Allah subhanho wa taala. You'll see the amount, the amount

00:11:27 --> 00:11:31

that he has, amount of virtues that he has mentioned, that

00:11:31 --> 00:11:34

excellence is the rewards that he has mentioned for patients is

00:11:34 --> 00:11:36

quite phenomenal. Allah subhanho wa Taala says, for example, in the

00:11:36 --> 00:11:39

My you offer sabe Runa, as your own mail lady who sub Allah

00:11:39 --> 00:11:43

subhanho wa Taala gives the patient ones their reward be lady

00:11:43 --> 00:11:47

he's up. He didn't say that for many things, believe it he said he

00:11:47 --> 00:11:51

says that for fasting as well, that are solely what Zb fasting is

00:11:51 --> 00:11:55

for me and I will reward directly for fasting. The reason is that

00:11:55 --> 00:11:58

fasting is also a suburb, because it's somewhere from three of the

00:11:58 --> 00:12:01

main things that a person is so accustomed to food, drink and

00:12:01 --> 00:12:06

*. So because fasting has a major component of sober and

00:12:06 --> 00:12:09

software has a great reward attached to it. And the sub the

00:12:09 --> 00:12:13

Allah subhanaw taala says that sober for the submarine, the

00:12:13 --> 00:12:17

reward is built at hisab. Without account. What that means is that

00:12:17 --> 00:12:20

he can give as much as he wants, there's no accountability for it.

00:12:20 --> 00:12:24

Nobody's going to question anybody about how much reward Allah

00:12:24 --> 00:12:29

subhanaw taala gives to somebody who is patient, right? So

00:12:31 --> 00:12:34

and the reason is that sober is a very individual thing, somebody is

00:12:34 --> 00:12:38

a very individual thing. It's not like, Okay, I've made my solid. So

00:12:38 --> 00:12:41

a solid is essentially made up of two units, three units, four

00:12:41 --> 00:12:45

units, four cards, this many in so you've absorbed your obligation,

00:12:45 --> 00:12:47

okay, then you've got some patients within you've got some,

00:12:47 --> 00:12:51

you know, some other spiritual aspects to it. But the main thing

00:12:51 --> 00:12:55

here is that when it comes to sadaqa, and zakat and hajj and

00:12:55 --> 00:12:58

everything else, the rewards can be weighed of that. But when it

00:12:58 --> 00:13:01

comes to sober, Allah subhanaw taala says, I'm just going to pour

00:13:01 --> 00:13:04

it on them. That's what the rhythm I mentioned, you're somebody who

00:13:04 --> 00:13:08

will add your sub, your sub body image, I drew sub Ben, which means

00:13:08 --> 00:13:12

that the reward will just be poured onto them, right without

00:13:12 --> 00:13:15

indiscriminately poured on them from Allah subhanho wa taala.

00:13:16 --> 00:13:20

Such it'll be to such a degree, as mentioned by some of the other Ma

00:13:20 --> 00:13:23

is that the people who didn't have many difficulties in the world,

00:13:24 --> 00:13:26

the people who didn't have many difficulties in the world, when

00:13:26 --> 00:13:31

they see this pouring of, of reward on the person who used to

00:13:31 --> 00:13:35

have difficulty but made solver, that these people who were

00:13:35 --> 00:13:37

constantly well being and didn't have to really deal with many

00:13:37 --> 00:13:42

calamities, they would have, they would desire at that time, that

00:13:42 --> 00:13:47

their bodies in this world would have been totally cleaved to bits,

00:13:47 --> 00:13:50

and torn to bits, so that they could have made sober as well,

00:13:50 --> 00:13:53

because of the reward they will see afterwards. Now I know when we

00:13:53 --> 00:13:58

mentioned this, it's not easy to do, it's not something that

00:13:58 --> 00:14:02

necessarily makes it so it's not something that is so easy for us

00:14:02 --> 00:14:05

to do in this world. It might be something that we might think

00:14:05 --> 00:14:08

later on. Right, but unfortunately, because of our

00:14:08 --> 00:14:11

level of iman, where we're probably not at that stage to

00:14:11 --> 00:14:14

think this way, although some of the Sahaba they were willing to go

00:14:14 --> 00:14:17

this far. Right. And some of the some of the great people of the

00:14:17 --> 00:14:19

past some of the pious individuals, they do have this

00:14:19 --> 00:14:23

level, but unfortunately, we love ourselves so much in terms of

00:14:23 --> 00:14:27

immediate benefit, immediate virtue, that we find it very

00:14:27 --> 00:14:31

difficult to, to entertain these kinds of thoughts at this point.

00:14:31 --> 00:14:34

But what it does do for us at least if it doesn't take us to

00:14:34 --> 00:14:38

that level, at least what it does do is that if we are in any

00:14:38 --> 00:14:42

calamity or difficulty, right, Inshallah, this will help us,

00:14:42 --> 00:14:45

right, these kinds of things do help the believers you know, this

00:14:45 --> 00:14:47

is all a reminder for the believer, it's all a persuasion

00:14:47 --> 00:14:50

for the believer, right, that inshallah we will have some of

00:14:50 --> 00:14:53

this reward even if we're, you know, we're not willing to have

00:14:53 --> 00:14:56

ourselves cut to pieces right in the sake of Allah in the path of

00:14:56 --> 00:14:59

Allah subhanaw taala. But at least at least, we're having

00:15:00 --> 00:15:01

Some summer will give us this insha Allah.

00:15:02 --> 00:15:05

So anyway, that that is what's mentioned about the people have

00:15:06 --> 00:15:09

difficulty, what they will feel in the hereafter.

00:15:11 --> 00:15:14

It's also mentioned that whoever has patience in the in this world

00:15:14 --> 00:15:19

they will have for them will be 300 stages and between each of the

00:15:19 --> 00:15:23

two stages in paradise between each of the two between each of

00:15:23 --> 00:15:27

these two stages, they will be, it's like as if it's between the

00:15:27 --> 00:15:30

heavens and the earth. So that's how great these people's Paradise

00:15:30 --> 00:15:32

will be. We have somebody in this world

00:15:33 --> 00:15:37

it's related from Ignite bustle, the Allahu Anhu that Rasul allah

00:15:37 --> 00:15:40

sallallahu alayhi wa sallam segment we'll see Bobby mercy but

00:15:40 --> 00:15:45

in whoever is hit by a calamity or difficulty, the man he often FC he

00:15:45 --> 00:15:51

either in his wealth or in his, in his self, some physical problem,

00:15:51 --> 00:15:55

health problem, right, some disability, right for Qatar, Maha,

00:15:55 --> 00:15:58

and they conceal it. So they don't make a big deal out of it. They

00:15:58 --> 00:16:02

don't go around complaining about it. When I'm Yesco Holly I hadn't

00:16:03 --> 00:16:08

and they don't complain about it to anybody. Right. Now. The reason

00:16:08 --> 00:16:13

they're doing this is not because they just don't like to tell

00:16:13 --> 00:16:15

anybody anything, but they're doing it for the sake of Allah

00:16:15 --> 00:16:19

subhanaw taala they're doing this with an Islamic motive. And it's a

00:16:19 --> 00:16:22

spiritual motive that I don't want to do this because I know Allah

00:16:22 --> 00:16:27

subhanho wa Taala is, is behind all of this in the sense that he's

00:16:27 --> 00:16:29

knowledgeable about what's happening. He knows what's

00:16:29 --> 00:16:33

happening, and I want to make supper so that I get this high

00:16:33 --> 00:16:37

reward in the hereafter. So they don't complain to other people for

00:16:37 --> 00:16:40

that reason. Then it's mentioned that it is a right on Allah

00:16:40 --> 00:16:45

subhanahu wa Tada that they Allah subhanaw taala forgives forgives

00:16:45 --> 00:16:45

these people.

00:16:47 --> 00:16:49

That's that's the benefit of this

00:16:54 --> 00:16:57

Imam a SUTI relates to Hadith Immanuel Zulu allah sallallahu

00:16:57 --> 00:16:58

alayhi wa sallam

00:17:01 --> 00:17:03

mentions Iran is a number of Hadith about the Prophet

00:17:03 --> 00:17:05

sallallahu Sallam mentioning

00:17:07 --> 00:17:10

the virtues for the people of patience.

00:17:11 --> 00:17:12

But

00:17:13 --> 00:17:16

there's many Hadees what I would actually like to mention here is

00:17:17 --> 00:17:20

Allama Munna who is one of the commentators of that hadith. What

00:17:20 --> 00:17:25

he says, Based on these based on these narrations is that there's

00:17:25 --> 00:17:29

nothing wrong with expressing your grief over something as long as

00:17:29 --> 00:17:35

it's not for for complaint purposes. And where we understand

00:17:35 --> 00:17:38

that from is that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in his

00:17:38 --> 00:17:43

final moments, when he had that terminal illness, he was saying,

00:17:43 --> 00:17:47

Wow, razza Oh, my head, Oh, my head, you know, the pain in the

00:17:47 --> 00:17:51

head? Well, razza that's an Arabic statement for that sad of the

00:17:51 --> 00:17:56

Allahu Anhu. When he was ill, he said, God stirred the beetle

00:17:56 --> 00:18:00

withdrew, which means that the pain is really severe. So he

00:18:00 --> 00:18:03

mentioned he expressed the fact to, to Rasulullah sallallahu some

00:18:03 --> 00:18:06

ya rasool Allah, the pain is very severe. Are you sure that the

00:18:06 --> 00:18:10

Allahu anha? Again, she says, Well, razza wa razza Oh, my head,

00:18:10 --> 00:18:15

my head, it's so hurting. You know, there is nothing wrong with

00:18:15 --> 00:18:17

that. It's just to tell the other person that look, I've got a

00:18:17 --> 00:18:21

headache. Right? And it's hurting, either make the offer me Have some

00:18:21 --> 00:18:24

mercy on me. Don't speak to me right now that, you know, take it

00:18:24 --> 00:18:29

easy with me relax. It's just if bar is just expression. For that

00:18:29 --> 00:18:31

reason, it's not complaint, oh, man, I've got a headache again,

00:18:31 --> 00:18:34

you know, it's just always happening to me, why does it

00:18:34 --> 00:18:36

happen to me for what you know what's wrong, this, that and the

00:18:36 --> 00:18:39

other, that's, that's when it becomes problematic. But if a

00:18:39 --> 00:18:42

person is doing this purely for the sake of just telling somebody

00:18:42 --> 00:18:44

else when they need to tell somebody else, then then there's

00:18:44 --> 00:18:46

nothing wrong with doing that.

00:18:47 --> 00:18:51

Now, another thing to really understand is that what happens

00:18:51 --> 00:18:54

with many times when we have calamities is that we will always

00:18:54 --> 00:19:00

first after complaining, we will find some solace, some comfort

00:19:00 --> 00:19:03

from someone else, or from something else.

00:19:04 --> 00:19:07

And what that means is that we haven't done sober from the

00:19:07 --> 00:19:10

initial stages. But what we've done is we've only resorted to

00:19:10 --> 00:19:14

sober after thinking over it. And after

00:19:16 --> 00:19:19

trying to find solace from others crying over somebody else's

00:19:19 --> 00:19:22

shoulder. And then we've tried to find patients afterwards,

00:19:22 --> 00:19:25

essentially, we're resorting to patients sometimes, because

00:19:25 --> 00:19:28

there's no other way. So imagine, if something really bad happened

00:19:28 --> 00:19:30

to someone, and they've tried every single way. I've tried to

00:19:30 --> 00:19:33

trying to come out of it trying to relieve themselves of it, and they

00:19:33 --> 00:19:37

can't find any way to do it. Eventually, when when they've

00:19:37 --> 00:19:39

tried everything, they've complained that every door when

00:19:39 --> 00:19:42

they've used every resource that they've had, and they can't find

00:19:42 --> 00:19:45

any solution for it. Eventually they will think to themselves,

00:19:45 --> 00:19:49

well you know, then then it will hit them that oh, this is from

00:19:49 --> 00:19:53

Allah subhanaw taala and then they may have submitted the end. Now

00:19:53 --> 00:19:56

that somebody is not as good as somebody who knows from right from

00:19:56 --> 00:19:59

the beginning. Look, this is from Allah subhana wa Tada. Let me let

00:19:59 --> 00:20:00

me

00:20:00 --> 00:20:03

We deal with it in that way. So that is what you call a sub in the

00:20:03 --> 00:20:06

submittal. Allah, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam saw

00:20:06 --> 00:20:09

this woman in the graveyard who was really really crying very

00:20:09 --> 00:20:12

emotionally. And she was kind of lost in that the rest of us and

00:20:12 --> 00:20:14

said, take it easy on yourself. She turned around and she said,

00:20:14 --> 00:20:17

How do you know how I feel? What do you know how I feel? You know?

00:20:18 --> 00:20:21

So she she gave these reasons. So the problem was and then left her

00:20:21 --> 00:20:23

alone, because she knew that she was in his very agitated state

00:20:23 --> 00:20:27

because of whatever the loss and she was not definitely not in a

00:20:28 --> 00:20:30

state of enough consciousness to understand who she was speaking

00:20:30 --> 00:20:34

to, and who was advising her. So he left her alone. Then later on

00:20:34 --> 00:20:37

when she realized what happened somebody mentioned to her she came

00:20:37 --> 00:20:41

to seek forgiveness from the Royal Lord Islam she came to Rasulullah

00:20:41 --> 00:20:43

sallallahu his house and the prophesy. Lawson said one thing

00:20:43 --> 00:20:48

too, I said, a Sabra are in the submittal, hula, a sober is at the

00:20:48 --> 00:20:52

beginning. It's at the initial stage, the word sadhana, right? It

00:20:52 --> 00:20:56

comes from Saddam. Saddam means to hit something very hard. Right.

00:20:56 --> 00:20:59

Solder means to literally bang into something. That's what solder

00:20:59 --> 00:21:03

solder means. And that's why you know, Saddam Hussein, right?

00:21:03 --> 00:21:08

That's Saddam in Arabic that you can you can say, sir Isml mobiola,

00:21:08 --> 00:21:11

which means it's a very exaggerated sense of Saddam.

00:21:11 --> 00:21:14

Right? An exaggerated sense of, you know, banging into something

00:21:14 --> 00:21:19

and he was really like his name, right, Saddam Hussein, as such,

00:21:19 --> 00:21:23

but the word submit comes from the same thing. So there was a lot of

00:21:23 --> 00:21:27

semi saying, a sober in the submittal. Hula were very eloquent

00:21:27 --> 00:21:30

statement of a sober sadhna kind of similar wordings, right side by

00:21:31 --> 00:21:37

side, Berra, and saw doll in the other one and meme. So he's saying

00:21:37 --> 00:21:41

that sober is at the initial attack at the initial bank, right

00:21:41 --> 00:21:44

at the initial effect, that's when the suburb should start from now,

00:21:44 --> 00:21:47

how is somebody going to have support from that stage? That's

00:21:47 --> 00:21:50

the question, because we're all probably thinking to ourselves,

00:21:50 --> 00:21:54

right? That for us to have sub and patients and for this to, you can

00:21:54 --> 00:21:57

say, this realisation to hit us that this must be from Allah

00:21:57 --> 00:22:02

subhanaw taala. Obviously, when, when a calamity hits us, we must

00:22:02 --> 00:22:05

think through it, how did it happen? Why did it Oh, Allah

00:22:05 --> 00:22:07

subhanho wa Taala is behind it. The only reason it takes us that

00:22:07 --> 00:22:11

long, seriously, right? The only reason it takes us that long, is

00:22:11 --> 00:22:15

because we're not so connected to Allah subhanaw taala, where we

00:22:15 --> 00:22:18

immediately realize, it's like, for example, you've got somebody

00:22:18 --> 00:22:22

that really likes you, right? And you, you receive a gift from that

00:22:22 --> 00:22:24

you receive a pastor from that, but you know, you receive a

00:22:24 --> 00:22:27

password in the post, when you know where that password comes

00:22:27 --> 00:22:31

from immediately. Right? If you do, then you've got a very strong

00:22:31 --> 00:22:35

connection, because you know, the ways of that person, right? You

00:22:35 --> 00:22:37

know, what they would send, you know, where it's coming from, you

00:22:37 --> 00:22:40

know, imagine you've got a pastor came to you from Amazon delivery,

00:22:41 --> 00:22:44

right? And you immediately you know, where it's probably from,

00:22:45 --> 00:22:47

you don't have to think, Hey, what's this going to be? What is

00:22:47 --> 00:22:49

going to be your opening? And then like, where did this come from?

00:22:49 --> 00:22:51

There's no note in there, whatever. And suddenly, you get an

00:22:51 --> 00:22:54

email, did you receive my gifts? Right? That means your connection

00:22:54 --> 00:22:57

isn't that great, or it doesn't happen, you know, you're not

00:22:57 --> 00:23:01

really used to it. If we because calamities happen so frequently,

00:23:01 --> 00:23:05

we should be used to it by now that whenever a calamity hits,

00:23:05 --> 00:23:07

it's from Allah subhanaw taala, we realize that and we make Southern

00:23:07 --> 00:23:10

right from the beginning. So it's something that has to be trained,

00:23:11 --> 00:23:14

especially if we're not so close to Allah subhanho wa taala. And I

00:23:14 --> 00:23:16

think that's the test of it, isn't it? That's the test that

00:23:16 --> 00:23:19

immediately if we know that this is coming from ALLAH, so I need to

00:23:19 --> 00:23:22

make sober now sober doesn't preclude the fact that we go and

00:23:22 --> 00:23:25

ask somebody for help if we need it, that there is nothing wrong

00:23:25 --> 00:23:27

with that. That's exactly what somebody is for you do sober and

00:23:27 --> 00:23:30

you when you ask, you know, you ask people for help for help. If

00:23:30 --> 00:23:33

you didn't ask anybody else for help. And you're only focusing on

00:23:33 --> 00:23:36

Allah subhana wa Tada for his help, then that's a higher stage.

00:23:36 --> 00:23:39

It's called Radha Baba, or actually, no, that's just someone

00:23:39 --> 00:23:42

and asking Allah subhanaw taala for help. There's another stage,

00:23:42 --> 00:23:45

which is even beyond that, where there's not even any need to do

00:23:45 --> 00:23:48

patience, because it goes beyond that to just be happy with the way

00:23:48 --> 00:23:50

the way Allah subhanaw taala keeps us. So essentially, we've got

00:23:50 --> 00:23:55

different levels. One level is that we, we are just about patient

00:23:55 --> 00:23:58

or we try to be patient or eventually we resort to patients,

00:23:58 --> 00:24:01

right when something hits us, although we should train ourselves

00:24:01 --> 00:24:04

to at least be patient right from the beginning. That's the that's

00:24:04 --> 00:24:07

the first level. The second level is that we're patient. And we ask

00:24:07 --> 00:24:10

Allah subhana wa Tala, well, even in this first first level, it's

00:24:10 --> 00:24:13

the same thing. We ask Allah subhanaw taala to remove this

00:24:13 --> 00:24:16

state from us, right? And we ask other people for help as well,

00:24:16 --> 00:24:19

then the next level is that we don't ask anybody else for help.

00:24:19 --> 00:24:23

We don't really we don't voice anything to anybody else. But we

00:24:23 --> 00:24:27

constantly just ask ALLAH SubhanA wa taala. We're only asking Allah

00:24:27 --> 00:24:30

subhanaw taala to remove the problem. So we're making somebody

00:24:30 --> 00:24:32

in both of these stages. But in the first stages, we're also

00:24:32 --> 00:24:36

asking others along with having solar, but in the second stage,

00:24:36 --> 00:24:39

we've got sober and we asking Allah to remove it because we're

00:24:39 --> 00:24:41

saying we can't really deal with this, right? I'd rather have well

00:24:41 --> 00:24:44

being which is completely fine. But there's a higher level to that

00:24:44 --> 00:24:47

as well, which I'm only mentioning it just for us to understand that

00:24:47 --> 00:24:50

there is a high level because when you know that there's the you

00:24:50 --> 00:24:53

know, the sky's the level as such, this is actually beyond the sky,

00:24:53 --> 00:24:56

but when you understand that then at least we can get even further

00:24:56 --> 00:24:59

in the first or the second level. And that is as for data have not

00:24:59 --> 00:24:59

yet

00:25:00 --> 00:25:03

So that's a very difficult level. It's for the really, really high

00:25:03 --> 00:25:06

accomplished people. But there's nothing to stop us from becoming

00:25:06 --> 00:25:09

high accomplished as well. I know I sometimes speak kind of in an

00:25:09 --> 00:25:12

under estimating way, but that's just, you know, I'm just taking

00:25:12 --> 00:25:17

certain factors into, into consideration. But the real thing

00:25:17 --> 00:25:20

is that we might, is that the highest stage is where a person

00:25:20 --> 00:25:23

doesn't even ask Allah subhanaw taala to remove the problem. They

00:25:23 --> 00:25:27

literally satisfied read the middle corridor, as they say, they

00:25:27 --> 00:25:30

totally satisfied with Allah's decree. So they know Allah is

00:25:30 --> 00:25:33

watching them, and they're willing to just go that way. And that's

00:25:33 --> 00:25:36

like Ibrahim is I'm being thrown into the fire. Right? The angels

00:25:36 --> 00:25:39

are even coming here coming to him to ask him that they will save him

00:25:40 --> 00:25:43

and he said, No, Allah knows Allah is watching. So why should I need

00:25:43 --> 00:25:45

to do anything Allah Allah, He knows what's best for me. I'll

00:25:45 --> 00:25:48

leave it to him. That's what you call a very high level. It's

00:25:48 --> 00:25:51

obviously the level of the extremely pious and the prophets

00:25:51 --> 00:25:54

and the and the messengers of Allah subhanaw taala. But we do

00:25:54 --> 00:25:56

need to know that and the way to do this

00:25:57 --> 00:26:01

we need to at least have sober right from the beginning. And the

00:26:01 --> 00:26:04

way to do that is to know that Allah subhanaw taala is watching

00:26:04 --> 00:26:06

us and all of these great rewards are given to us and that is

00:26:06 --> 00:26:12

Inshallah, what will train us for, for this? Allah subhana wa Tada.

00:26:12 --> 00:26:18

He says, rubbish, rubbish it is sabihin give glad tidings to the

00:26:18 --> 00:26:22

people who do sober Alladhina either a cyber to masiva who when

00:26:22 --> 00:26:26

a calamity hits them, call you in Allah, he was in LA Raji rune,

00:26:26 --> 00:26:29

immediately the first thing that comes in their mouth is we are for

00:26:29 --> 00:26:32

Allah or they think this way for Allah, Allah subhanaw taala made

00:26:32 --> 00:26:34

us to start with I mean, if he didn't make us and we won't be

00:26:34 --> 00:26:37

here anyway, if he makes us then this is all part of it. We're in

00:26:37 --> 00:26:40

LA Raggio and we're gonna go back to him anyway. So even if this

00:26:40 --> 00:26:43

calamity doesn't doesn't hit us, there's going to be a death that

00:26:43 --> 00:26:45

will overcome us and we're going to get back to Allah subhanaw

00:26:45 --> 00:26:48

taala anyway, so we are going to be returning to Allah subhanaw

00:26:48 --> 00:26:52

taala without any hymns Salah to me Robbie Marama ALLAH SubhanA wa

00:26:52 --> 00:26:56

Tada even he just piles on the praise and the promises for for

00:26:56 --> 00:27:00

these people. He says what I gotta him son Overton on these people

00:27:00 --> 00:27:05

are the doors, the praises on these people are the praises and

00:27:05 --> 00:27:09

the mercies of Allah subhanho wa Taala from the Lord Rama, what

00:27:09 --> 00:27:12

will our Eco and motor duel? Allah subhanho wa Taala praise these

00:27:12 --> 00:27:15

people, Allah subhanaw taala helps these people, Allah subhanho wa

00:27:15 --> 00:27:18

Taala mentions all of these great things for his people, and he

00:27:18 --> 00:27:21

gives them mercy. And these are the people who will look they

00:27:21 --> 00:27:24

don't, they are the guided ones. That guided ones, the reason they

00:27:24 --> 00:27:28

guided is because they know what to do. Because half the problems

00:27:28 --> 00:27:32

that arise in this world is when a calamity hits a person and they

00:27:32 --> 00:27:35

don't know what to do. I mean, look at the depression that's out

00:27:35 --> 00:27:38

there. Why is the depression there because there's no patience,

00:27:38 --> 00:27:41

right? If a person had patience, and they knew what the issue

00:27:41 --> 00:27:44

wasn't, where it's coming from, and what Allah subhanaw taala

00:27:44 --> 00:27:47

wants them to do if they had a religion. And if they had belief

00:27:47 --> 00:27:50

in that religion, and they knew what to do in that religion, half

00:27:50 --> 00:27:53

your depression would go, I guarantee there's people probably

00:27:53 --> 00:27:56

sitting here today who have depression of some sort and other

00:27:56 --> 00:28:00

your depression will go go and read there are books about the

00:28:00 --> 00:28:04

Siberian, right there are books about the people who are patient,

00:28:04 --> 00:28:07

right, read the stories of these people and read about the rewards

00:28:07 --> 00:28:10

that they get, believe me, for a person who's got depression, for a

00:28:10 --> 00:28:15

person who has a calamity, there is nothing, nothing, absolutely

00:28:15 --> 00:28:18

nothing better than religion for them. And the reason is that it

00:28:18 --> 00:28:23

gives them an Islam gives them that ability to see what's after

00:28:23 --> 00:28:27

the veil. What's after this, this veil that we're supposed to go

00:28:27 --> 00:28:30

through between this world and the next world, when we understand

00:28:30 --> 00:28:33

that this world is a temporary place where these kinds of things

00:28:33 --> 00:28:36

will happen. And the hereafter is the real place when none of these

00:28:36 --> 00:28:39

things will happen and will be rewarded for the patience we have

00:28:39 --> 00:28:43

in this world, then they will realize that the difficulty it is

00:28:43 --> 00:28:46

in this world will become easier a person will be able to negotiate

00:28:46 --> 00:28:51

them and I think that's that's the main message today. Because such

00:28:51 --> 00:28:53

people are in the sight of Allah subhanaw taala Allah subhanaw

00:28:53 --> 00:28:57

taala is the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam mentioned a

00:28:57 --> 00:29:00

number of things Allah subhanaw taala says, was barely Hukm Arabic

00:29:00 --> 00:29:02

for in Nickleby tuna.

00:29:03 --> 00:29:09

Be patient, persevere on the commands of your Lord, because for

00:29:09 --> 00:29:14

in Nickleby tuna you are right in front of us you are in our vision,

00:29:14 --> 00:29:15

we are watching you.

00:29:16 --> 00:29:21

So be patient, in persevering over the commands of Allah subhanho wa

00:29:21 --> 00:29:25

Taala on the commands of Allah subhanaw taala and because we are

00:29:25 --> 00:29:28

watching you, and if Allah subhanaw taala is watching someone

00:29:28 --> 00:29:30

you can you can imagine that he's going to look after them because

00:29:30 --> 00:29:32

Allah wishes the best for us.

00:29:35 --> 00:29:38

And at the end of the day, the final point is that patience is

00:29:38 --> 00:29:40

the basis of every worship.

00:29:41 --> 00:29:43

And the reason why patient patients is the basis of every

00:29:43 --> 00:29:47

worship is because in every worship that there is it starts

00:29:47 --> 00:29:50

off with difficulty. And the reason why I started with

00:29:50 --> 00:29:53

difficulty is that for example getting up for Fudger on a cold

00:29:53 --> 00:29:57

morning, the water doesn't come up hot, you have to make wudu right

00:29:57 --> 00:29:59

go out to the masjid if you're going to the masjid you

00:30:00 --> 00:30:02

have to make sure that you're covered properly. If you're a

00:30:02 --> 00:30:04

woman, for example, if you're a man as well, you have to be

00:30:04 --> 00:30:07

covered in a particular way. You can't do certain things other

00:30:07 --> 00:30:11

people are doing it around you. There's great room for cyber in

00:30:11 --> 00:30:14

non Muslim countries, and that's why inshallah the rewards will be

00:30:14 --> 00:30:17

higher as well. But that's why there are them. I mentioned that a

00:30:17 --> 00:30:22

Sauber is us locally Eva, which means it's the foundation. It's

00:30:22 --> 00:30:27

the basic principle. It's the you can say the root of every worship

00:30:27 --> 00:30:32

because you need sober to do worship, you need sober to avoid

00:30:32 --> 00:30:36

haram because it's sober of over yourself. Right? It's sober and

00:30:36 --> 00:30:40

controlling yourself to not do the bad thing. It's super and

00:30:40 --> 00:30:43

controlling yourself to make sure you do the right thing. And then

00:30:43 --> 00:30:48

the other sub is of dealing with calamities. May Allah subhanho wa

00:30:48 --> 00:30:52

Taala make a May Allah subhanaw taala grant us well being May

00:30:52 --> 00:30:55

Allah subhanaw taala grant us well being but if we are in any kind of

00:30:55 --> 00:30:58

difficulty, then may Allah subhanho wa Taala relieve that

00:30:58 --> 00:31:01

difficulty from us. May Allah subhanaw taala make it easy for us

00:31:01 --> 00:31:04

may Allah subhanaw taala give us the guidance and the Tofik to have

00:31:04 --> 00:31:07

patients in the right way in the best way possible working with

00:31:07 --> 00:31:09

that one Al hamdu lillahi rabbil aalameen
