those who are looking to master Tajweed.
That class is on Monday from 7 to

details on that.
Next, we are just gearing up for Islamic
History Month, so there are going to be
a few special events or programs for Islamic
History Month next month, so please be on
the lookout for those programs next month, Inshallah.
I think that's it.
Jazakumullahu Khayran.
Our khateeb today is Dr. Shaykh Abdullah Hakim.
I bear witness that
there is no god
but Allah.
I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger
of Allah.
I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger
of Allah.
Come to prayer.
Come to prayer.
Come to salvation.
Come to salvation.
All praises are due to Allah, Lord of
the worlds.
And surely the best reward is for those
who have the consciousness of Allah.
And surely there is no animosity except for
the oppressor.
And I bear witness that Allah is one,
has no partners, no rivals.
And that Muhammad, the son of Abdullah, is
his servant and his last messenger.
May Allah always constantly send peace and blessings
to Muhammad, to his family, his companions, and
all those who call to his way and
establish his sunnah to the day of judgment.
As to what follows, oh you who believe,
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has revealed in
his mighty book in a glorious form relevant
to us just as it was in the
past.
Oh you who believe, have the consciousness of
Allah and speak a straightforward word.
He would repair your deeds and forgive you
of your sins.
And whoever obeys Allah and his messenger has
surely gained a mighty triumph.
Oh you who believe, with the times becoming
more and more chaotic, it is critical for
us to always return to the book of
Allah Azza wa Jal.
To not just be on the surface of
the revelation, but to go deeper into the
words that Allah has revealed.
Because these words are pictures.
It is divine news, divine description as to
what we would be going through as we
move toward the day of resurrection.
And Allah tells us in this verse, Allah
said, not only should you have taqwa, but
you should have qawlan sadida.
The deeper meaning of this is that qawlan
sadida is not only straight in your speech,
but it means our speech needs to be
relevant.
It needs to be well advised.
It needs to be to the point.
That is the critical nature of the qualities
that Muslims need to develop as we move
into this world of confusion going toward the
day of resurrection.
And the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam has shown
us clearly in many traditions how chaotic and
how confusing times would become as we move
toward qiyamah.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala has also described
the role of humanity.
That there are those who would be guided,
but there would be others who would cause
destruction.
And in Surah Ar-Rum, verse 41, Allah
Azza wa Jal has revealed, Zahra al-fasad
fil barri wal-bahar bima kasabat aydin nas
li yudhiqahum ba'da allathee amilu la'allahum yarji
'oon.
Corruption has appeared throughout the land and the
sea by reason of what the hands of
people have earned.
So He may let them taste part of
what they have done.
So perhaps they would return to righteousness.
So Allah uses the word fasad.
This is a crucial word.
It appears many times in many forms in
the book of Allah.
And al-fasad in its essence means corruption.
It can also mean something which is rotten,
perversion.
But this is a special form.
And that is the deep level that this
book has come.
And the scholars of tafsir have looked at
the use of terms.
If you say the word kitab, it means
a book.
But if you say kitabullah, it means the
Quran.
So the word kitab itself takes on another
meaning when it is connected to another object.
In this case, when fasad is in the
earth.
Al-fasad fil-ard.
In this case it was fil-barri wal
-bahar.
That means land on the sea.
The ulema of tafsir have shown us that
this fasad would be mischief in the land.
I want you to think about what's happening
in Palestine and Lebanon.
Think about what is going on in this
world, what is happening and how Allah has
predicted it.
Mischief in the land.
Horrendous crimes.
Spreading devilry.
The acts of shaytan.
Causing turmoil and sedition.
And so this fasad, this devilry would have
been allowed to be unleashed upon the people.
In Palestine and in Lebanon and other parts
of the world.
This is leading to existential threats.
Not only to the people of the Middle
East.
But a threat to the existence of all
human life.
There are three major forms and there are
many threats that we have.
But three of these existential threats are as
follows.
Number one, when the present destruction, murder of
innocence, breaking all rules.
If it is allowed to continue by the
people of this earth.
Then it will destroy what is called the
rules based order.
What is the rules based order?
This is a system set up after the
great world wars in the 20th century.
A system by which states could deal with
each other.
Some rules of engagement.
But now with this being broken up.
The very institutions that were set up to
protect these rules are crumbling down.
What are some of these rules based organizations?
The United Nations.
The World Trade Organization.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The Geneva Convention.
The Paris Climate Accord.
All of it is becoming irrelevant.
And if that continues, we will return to
the law of the jungle.
Where there is no boundaries.
There are no rules set between people.
Number two, of the existential threats.
It is the threat of nuclear war.
We are right on the edge of nuclear
war.
They don't want to talk about it.
But there was a special doomsday clock that
was set up after the nuclear bombs were
dropped in Japan.
And after the Cuban Missile Crisis.
They set up a doomsday clock to say
how close are we for people to shoot
each other with nuclear weapons and destroy civilization
as we know it.
Now they say there are 90 seconds left
before midnight.
90 seconds.
What are some of the countries that have
these nuclear devices that can cause this confusion?
The United States has 5,044 nuclear warheads.
The Russian Federation has 5,580.
China has 500.
France 290.
The UK has 225.
And quiet as it's kept, Israel has somewhere
between 75 to 400 nuclear warheads.
India has 172.
Pakistan has 170.
And North Korea has 50.
We are at the edge of a nuclear
holocaust.
Number three, the danger of climate catastrophe because
of what people's hands have done.
Instead of dealing with the environment, instead of
dealing with the means of production in order
to save life, we are destroying the earth.
And the earth is responding to us.
And Allah is punishing us as a human
race.
Punishment is coming with floods.
Monstrous floods in Central Europe.
Floods like they have not seen in a
hundred years.
In Bangladesh.
In Northern Nigeria.
In Vietnam.
All over the world you are seeing water
coming down upon people.
And this causes the oceans to rise.
And the coastlines to change.
Punishment is also coming to humanity with fire.
Heat.
We are in the hottest time ever recorded.
No other time have they recorded heat as
what we are in right now.
And that is leading to wildfires.
Droughts.
Terrible droughts in Africa, Australia, in India, and
in many places.
The punishment is also coming with wind.
Hurricanes.
Cyclones.
Hitting the land.
And so climate catastrophe.
These are existential threats to human life.
So what is happening there in Philistine, what
is happening on the ground to us in
our front line Muslim states, is not just
a struggle for the Muslim world.
It is a struggle for all of humanity.
What can we possibly do?
And Allah said in the verse that this
corruption would appear, humanity will taste it.
And we are literally tasting the corruption now
all around the earth.
Why?
In order that they would return to Suratul
Mustaqim, that they would return to righteousness.
And so the bottom line is that humanity
has to reverse the course that it's on.
But Muslims, because we are tasked with holding
the last revelation, we are the key to
the success of this world.
And that means, with the many challenges that
we are facing, we need to focus ourselves.
We need to not be distracted.
We are being distracted by minor issues so
that we don't deal with the major issues.
Just like last week for instance, there was
an internal distraction amongst Muslims about the birthday
of the Prophet ﷺ, Mawlid.
And so you went online and you will
see the Mawlid wars.
You will see people struggling and fighting against
each other and wasting their time.
Wasting their energy and their thought process, dealing
with the birthday of the Prophet ﷺ.
If they looked at actual history, there is
no agreed upon date when he was actually
born.
It's somewhere between the 8th and the 12th
of Rabiul Awwal.
But nobody knows exactly when he was born.
So even if you think it's a particular
day, nobody actually knows that it's a day.
Also, in the early generations, in the time
of the Prophet ﷺ and in the Sahaba,
the Tabi'een, there was no Eid.
There was no major celebration on a particular
day.
That's the reality if we look at it.
However, if Muslims during that time want to
remember the Prophet ﷺ, they talk about his
life.
They give Sadaqah.
If it helps, mashallah.
The problem is when you consider it an
Eid.
Because it's not an Eid.
But the struggle does not have to go
to the extremes.
The struggle needs to be in the middle,
in the balanced position of Islam.
And one of the great balanced scholars, Sidi
Ahmed Zarouk, a great scholar of North Africa,
of Fez, had a balanced position with this.
And this is a scholar who was respected
by people on all sides.
And so what did he say about sincerity
to the Messenger of Allah?
How can you really be sincere?
And he answered, You want to be sincere?
Follow his sunnah.
Follow his ways.
Everything that he did, the more you do
it is the more sincere you are to
the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
Because he did not come as an idol.
And he made it clear in his deathbed,
don't make my grave a house of worship.
Don't do to me what the Christians, the
people of the book did to their prophets.
Follow his sunnah.
Secondly, That you should respect and be kind
and generous to his family.
Take care of his family.
And three, That you should have compassion on
his nation.
Because it was the Prophet ﷺ who constantly
would be saying, Ummati, ummati, crying for his
nation.
So if we are sincere to him, we
should feel the pain.
Compassion means not just an emotion.
You feel it like the other person feels
it.
We need to feel it when the Muslims
are suffering in the different parts of the
world.
And that doesn't mean that we lose control
of ourselves.
It means that we become stronger and we
persevere in the face of the crisis that
we are going through.
How can we stand in front of these
powers of the world?
What can we do?
And there is a feeling, some people feel
a type of helplessness.
And even the companions of the Prophet ﷺ,
you will see in the battle of the
trench, when the enemies were near and when
it seemed like all was gone, they even
said, When will the help of Allah come?
And so that is a cry.
But remember that Allah said, his help is
near.
And there is a reason why we are
going through this.
There is a reason why Allah has chosen
certain people to be the front lines.
He has chosen them to be the shuhada,
to be the madas who would defend not
only the Muslim world, but defend civilization itself.
And so, along with constant dua, constant dua
to lift this crisis of the suffering people,
not only in the Middle East, but all
throughout the Muslim world and the world.
Two, to continue to pressure our government as
much as we possibly can on all levels,
to bring about ceasefire, to end hostilities.
Constantly pressure, any level that you possibly can.
If you can write, if you can demonstrate,
if you can pull back your money, whatever
it is.
Constantly deal with this issue.
And throughout the greater Muslim world, our nations
have to come to the conclusion, and it
is clear now through the United Nations, that
one of the key tools that is needed
is muqata'ah.
It is to boycott.
It is sanctions.
And the least the Muslim countries can do
is to close their borders and to sanction
all of the goods, if you have something
in front of you.
And it is a nice designer product that
makes your skin shine.
But it has been developed by occupying power,
killing our people.
It is haram, according to the ulema, to
take part in that product.
It's like if a thief comes to you
with stolen goods and says, this is really
good watch, would you like to buy it
for 10% of the cost?
If you buy that, you're part of the
stealing and thievery of that watch.
And so by the complete decision of the
ulema, it is haram to be involved in
anything to support these occupying forces destroying our
country, killing innocent people throughout the Muslim world.
And finally, we are in a situation, the
companions of the Prophet ﷺ were in this.
Throughout Islamic history, Muslims were in it when
the back is against the wall, waiting for
Nasrullah.
We have to embrace the shaheed.
We have to embrace our shuhada.
Embrace those who are dying and realize that
Allah ﷻ is taking, is choosing martyr witnesses
from us.
And they will witness, not only for themselves
and their family, but it can be against
us, if we are not trying to do
something in one way or another.
And never forget, the frontline people are learning
this and they know this.
That the shaheed, there are many blessings, but
of these blessings, is that the shaheed, the
martyr, is forgiven from the moment his blood
is shed.
Complete forgiveness.
Number two, he will be shown his place
in paradise.
Right away.
Number three, he will be spared from the
trials of the grave.
The punishments in the grave, they will not
feel it.
Number four, his or her place will be
secured on the day of judgment.
Number five, there will be placed on his
head or her head, a crown of dignity
will be placed upon the head of the
shaheed.
Number six, he will be married to 72
companions.
And these companions is not only for male,
for female, because ghilman is being used as
well.
They will have special companions in paradise.
Number seven, shaheed will be permitted to intercede
for 70 members of his family.
70 relatives.
And so it is an honor to be
the shaheed.
And these people who are in front of
us, who are sacrificing, Inshallah, they will see
something that none of us will realize until
we make transition out of this world.
And the Prophet ﷺ said in a vision
of a shaheed, that when that shaheed in
the other side in Jannah is asked, What
would you want more than anything else?
And the shaheed said, I would want to
go back to earth in order to die
again for Allah ﷻ.
May Allah ﷻ accept the shaheeds in this
ummah.
May Allah ﷻ raise up strong dignified Muslims
to save the whole world.
May Allah ﷻ have mercy on the children
in this ummah.
Have mercy upon the suffering people who are
going through the changes in this ummah.
And may Allah ﷻ raise up the leadership,
give the leadership the right hikmah, the wisdom,
that when they strike, they will strike at
the right time.
May Allah ﷻ give them the wisdom.
And may Allah ﷻ make the effects of
this ummah to be far reaching in the
world.
And may Allah ﷻ accept us and purify
our hearts.
And purify any evil amongst us and unite
our ranks.
I say this and ask Allah ﷻ to
forgive me and you and all Muslims for
all my sins.
Ask Him ﷻ to forgive me.
Indeed, He ﷻ is Forgiving.
All praise is due to Allah, the One,
the Ever-Living, Who neither begets nor is
born.
And there is no one like Him.
And I pray and salute the Master of
the first and the last.
Our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and all his family
and companions.
O servants of Allah, fear Allah wherever you
are.
And Allah ﷻ says, Verily Allah and His
angels send blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ.
O you who have believed, send blessings upon
him ﷺ.
