AI: Summary ©
Ibrahim is a very important prophet for us
because we see
he is the, you know, the father of
prophets
and he's really one of the best examples
of pure
Islamic teachings other than prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi
wasallam.
Is in Ibrahim's life. He's in the 7th
heaven
and he greets.
He greets the prophet, peace be upon him,
in this,
supernatural
experience.
After this,
Jibril is now mentioning
the prophet needs to go forward,
but Jibril
stopped.
He he couldn't go forward after that.
And he reached,
this Sidratul Mun Tahir,
which is the like a they describe it
as a lote tree type of that is
there.
And
this is the furthest place,
and the angel Jibril
stopped.
I I cannot go further.
So prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, now
goes on
and there he comes into the presence of
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Okay? And some people say ask the prophet,
this what did you see?
Because they would want to know.
You know, what does the creator look like?
And the prophet said it was
a veil of light.
It was a veil of light.
So therefore, he never
he did not see
any being, but there was a veil of
light,
and they communicated.
So this is direct communication
of a human being with Allah Azzawajal.
Remember the prophet Musa alaihis salam,
he spoke through remember the story of Moses?
The burning bush.
Remember there was a burning bush
and that was on the on on on
the mount Ator. Right?
And he spoke to, you know, to the
Bush a voice came to him,
through the bush.
And
the details
of this,
communication
and what actually
how it we don't have the details.
But we we do know
that,
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala communicated with,
prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him,
and gave him,
certain blessings. There were 3 key things,
that he promised him,
and gave him.
One is
the
obligation of prayer,
that the Muslims would have,
a way
to communicate with Allah.
So in other words, you don't have to
go to a temple.
You don't have to go to a priest.
You can communicate with the creator.
So when we pray,
right, if you really can concentrate on what
you're doing,
you commute you are communicating
with Allah
and so that is considered to be salat
is like our mairaj.
It's like an ascension.
And based on the level of your salat
is a level of your communication. That's why
you'll see people who get up in the
middle of the night, they'll make Tahajjud prayer.
Right? And on a high level,
it, you know, you you it's a communication.
And so that is a great blessing.
But
the obligation of prayer
was 50 times
that we were supposed to make salat
50 times
per day.
Okay? We have trouble with 5. Right?
50 times per day.
The second promise
or the second blessing,
he was given the last
verses last two verses in Surat Al Baqarah.
And you need to go to the 2nd
chapter of the Quran and
read these verses of the last two verses,
there,
and these are major things. If you can
even memorize them,
you know, you mem these
these last 2, verses, the khatam of Surat
Al Baqarah.
And at the end of it, it is
a dua.
So you're making a dua. So he's given
you a way to communicate.
So it's like a blessing. Right?
And the 3rd
promise or blessing
was that
Muslims, those who accepted Islam and became part
of the Ummah,
ultimately
eventually
would enter paradise.
They would eventually enter paradise.
Now this does not mean
they immediately enter paradise,
but they would eventually enter paradise. And this
is another whole discussion,
in itself,
but there are people who are called Jahannami
Yoon
and these are people on the day of
judgment,
who are believers. They say they say they're
Muslims,
but they did wrong. And we have a
lot of them running around the world today.
Right?
You go to the Muslim world, look at
some of the leaders there, and some of
the things that are being done, treachery and
whatever.
So these people
will enter the fire
for a period of time
that Allah decides
eventually because they have the kelima.
Remember how important the kelima is. Right? The
belief in one God and the acceptance of
prophethood.
They will eventually come out of hellfire.
So to burn now
in hellfire just a little bit is terrible.
Take a match and put it on your
hand.
Like, this is real. Right? It's it's pain.
And it is said that Abu Talib remember
the prophet's uncle?
He was such a
good person and the prophet came to him
and said, accept Islam, accept Islam. I will
intercede on the day of judgment.
But Abu Talib,
arrogance, whatever it was, he never accepted Islam.
And then they asked
later on,
will he be in the fire?
And he said, yes.
But he will have the least punishment in
the fire.
It will be like a person standing in
a big pot
of water and then you and then you
boil it.
Right?
Now think about the pain of that. Right?
That's the least punishment of the people in
the fire.
So,
eventually,
though, that's a promise,
that this Ummah,
you have this being a Muslim, it is
a blessing.
And no matter what happens in the world,
don't give this up.
Don't give this up.
Hang on to this
for the rest of your life.
Now
the prophet, peace be upon him,
then
left
the divine presence of Allah,
And he started going back down.
When he reached the 6th heaven
and he reached Musa Alaihi Salam. Musa is
a very,
animated person, questioning person.
You look at his life, you'll see a
lot of things in his life. So Musa
asked him,
what did Allah
say? What did he give you?
And he said, he gave me prayers.
How many times? Fifty per day. Musa said,
go back to Allah and ask him.
Because your people, they won't be able to
do that.
No way.
Think if we had to make 50 times
prayer per day, like you're starting off, you
know, like, basically every, you know, 20 minutes
or something like whatever. You gotta make another
salat.
So he went back. His communication with Allah,
there's no details,
but he went back and came back.
And then now I told Musa, it's been
reduced
been reduced. Musa said, go back.
25, 3rd, whatever. Go back.
And it continue even read 10.
Go back. That's too much.
Right? Final time the prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa
sallam, some reports say it was 5 times
back and forth that he finally,
he said
5 times prayer.
Musa said, go back again.
See, Musa,
he knows his own people to another people,
but the prophet said, I am ashamed to
go back.
I can't go back.
But then Allah revealed
that if you make the 5 times prayer
per day,
you will get the blessing of 50 prayers.
So when we make the 5,
you will get the blessing of the 50
prayers.
Right? So that is a major,
blessing that happened
on Mi'raj.
Then the prophet, salaam,
returned.
There's a lot of details,
you know, in this. He was given visions,
of, certain things, * hellfire and certain things
he was given visions of.
And then,
he returned,
went to and went to his Buraq, and
then then he came back to Mecca.
K? Now
morning is coming,
and he's got this story. I've just been
to Jerusalem. Right?
And he was nervous. How can I tell
my people this?
How is it possible?
This is strange.
And
the first person he ran into was Abu
Jahl,
who was one of the biggest enemies, you
know, of Allah.
And when Abu Jahl found this out,
he said, can you say the same thing
in front of the, the rest of Quresh?
See, he wants to now make, you know,
a story against him to just make him
seem like a fool.
Right? And the province of Salem said, yes.
He would.
So,
but then,
it was said they went Tabu Bakr.
And they said Tabu Bakr,
his companion, the prophet's companion,
his closest companion.
What about,
this story? Mohammed said he he went to
Jerusalem and came back.
So what do you think?
Sabu Bakr
said, I would believe that and more because
he's receiving revelations from above 7 heavens constantly.
So if that's what he did, fine.
So, therefore, he's called Abu Bakr as Siddiq.
So that's the name that we use. You
you hear hear people say, Abu Bakr as
Siddiq.
And that's not just somebody who tells the
truth because someone who tells the truth is
Sadiq.
Right? From the same verb,
but Sadik means he confirmed the truth.
See? He believed in the truth
and he confirmed the truth.
So some of the lessons that we're getting
out of this
is,
now you see
this level now, the importance of prophet Muhammad,
peace be upon him.
Now you see why Muslims
are so serious about this, what we know
about him,
and the level that he went went higher
than any other human being as Epikon.
And from this journey, we also get the
institution of Salat.
There were visions of the hereafter.
Okay. There was the the stance, as I
said, of Abu Bakr.
These are some of the stories, you know,
lessons that we're actually getting,
from this.
And this, again, is proof of prophethood.
This is another proof
of prophethood and the fact that he is
the seal
of the prophets.
He's the seal.
He's the final prophet.
Okay?
This is saying my battery is going out
which is not gonna matter so much anyway
because I'm at the end.
So it's another proof of the prophethood.
Maybe check the cable.
And, again,
it is showing
the importance of
Jerusalem.
Now you see
why Jerusalem is so important to us now.
It's not just important
to the to the Christians because of Jesus
or to the Jews because of Solomon, David,
Moses,
but it is of critical importance to us
as well.
Right? And this is based upon,
the night journey.
And so
these are the 3 sacred places for us.
There's Mas'al Haram in Mecca, and if you
pray there one salat, you get a 100000
blessings.
Once
for one salat.
If you pray in the prophet's mosque
in Medina,
you get, a 1,000
for one salah. If you pray in the
Mashal Aqsa,
you get 500,
according to what the prophet taught us.
So this is of critical,
importance,
a critical place for us,
And it is now
the center
of international
struggle,
and it will continue
to be the center according to our understanding.
Right up until the day of judgment, this
place is gonna be a key place,
right up until the day of
k. So this is a critical,
journey that he took,
and it's within the seerah, within the life
of the prophet, peace and blessings be be
upon him. So I wanna open up the
floor for any questions, that anybody
has concerning,
the Isra
and Mi'raj.
So that is the night journey
and then the Ascension
the Ascension.
K? Floor is open for any questions.
Through the institution of Salat, was also the
instructions on how to perform? No. What what
what happened there is that the salat is
now,
instituted, that that that it becomes, you know,
an obligation.
But the actual format,
of the prayers
came to the angel.
So Angel Gabriel taught in terms of the
times
and in terms of how to make the
prayer. It came through the angel,
through angel Jibril alayhis salam.
Question? What's the difference between
the words masjid and mosque?
Masjid is the original word because sajada means
to prostrate,
so the place of prostrate. Mosque is just
a translation
of the word Masjid. It has no it
just,
you you say it in different ways,
in different,
languages.
Also, it's just the English word. Yeah. Yes.
We'll say that's the English word for it.
Oh, okay. Yeah. But it's the same.
Yeah.
Yeah. Very, very good.
There's a lot of details in this.
There's there's details.
And
one of the details, you know, that our
brother has brought
is that, when he reached the 7th heaven,
there is a place called the Bethel Ma'amur.
So this is like sort of like the
Kaaba in the sky,
in the heavens.
And it is said
that 70,000 angels come there,
and they,
you know, make their worship every day, and
they never come back again.
So think of the amount of days,
right, times 70,000.
K? There's a number of things. Like, if
you get a book on Seera, you can
read a number of other,
aspects. We're just dealing with the basics here
now
in terms of,
the theater itself.
Any question online for us?
Yeah. Is that the prophet,
explained the story to the the
how did they receive it? How did he
how did he share the story that he's
very nervous about it? Yes. Okay. So that
this is a good point, which would have
come in the next class.
But,
the Quresh
then,
they didn't wanna believe it.
And according to their understanding of of of
the prophet's life, he never actually went there
before.
He went on journeys, but he never went
to Jerusalem.
And there were and there were merchants there
who had been to Jerusalem.
So they said to him,
okay. If you were if you went there,
describe it to
us. Okay? And,
he had some
general idea. Of course, it's it's traumatic what
what happened to him,
but then, you know, Allah
brought to him.
He was actually given a vision of certain
aspects, you know, of,
Jerusalem, and he began from this vision to
describe to them what it looked like. Also,
what he could do
was that
when he was on the Boraq
coming back,
he he described
caravans
because he saw us like, a caravan coming.
So he described it,
to them, and then eventually, that caravan reached.
But from the description that he gave,
the ones that were there, they said, this
sounds this sounds right.
But, of course,
they didn't wanna fully believe it.
They were still against him.
Abu Jahl and the leaders,
you know, just totally
ignored it.
But you could imagine,
that story in those days.
For us today, for a person to travel
from one place to another,
you know, overnight
in one night and back, that's nothing
major. We have means of transportation.
In those days, they did not have that.
Online question, does anybody anybody have?
Yes. So how was it possible for the
journey? It was,
a animal called a buraq
that, you know, Allah gave the ability to
to to fly from one place to another.
It's supernatural.
It it is an intervention.
It's a miracle.
It's an intervention by Allah giving him the
ability to travel from one place to another.
Okay? It's it's not any
Arab airplane that they had in those days.
It wasn't a flying carpet. You know, they
say the Arabs fly on carpets. Right?
Alibaba and the 40 thieves. It wasn't it
wasn't a flying carpet.
Yeah. Question.
Yes. So when we make the 5 salat,
according to the mihraj,
you get the the blessing for 50 salats
when you make the 5, which is another
great encouragement for us,
you know, to try to, you know, be
steady, you know, in making our prayers.
Chris? If you miss a prayer, do you
have to make it up
Yes. So if you if you miss a
prayer for any reason, then you do qada,
which is, you know, you you will make
up the prayer, you know, as soon as
you possibly can.
Of course, for those who have just accepted
Islam, then,
you know, the institution of 5 prayers is
not immediate.
Right? It is once you
get solidly,
you know, in,
then you can you know, you work into
it.
K. Some people make it right away, other
people take a little bit of time based
on the circumstances.
But it's not an immediate thing that a
person has to do the next day
when they've taken Shahada.
No. It's not immediate.
And you can see, even when the life
of the prophet, it was instituted over a
period of time because this is now you
know, it it didn't become obligatory really fully
until they were in Medina.
Then when they reached so that was, like,
12, 13 years.
So all that time before,
they would make they didn't make salat.
Regular.
It was it was in early in the
morning and in the evening.
They would make a prayer,
early in the morning and in the evening,
at that time.
And all the way through, it's the angel
who's showing the prophet
how to actually make the the prayer
and what to say inside of the prayer,
and and we learn from that.
So whenever there's a difference of opinion
on the prayer,
you go back to the prophet himself,
because the prophet said
pray as you have seen me
pray. And and and he made the prayer
sometimes slightly different,
sometimes coming up from record he raised, sometimes
he didn't,
and people got different reports. So it's okay
as long as as long as it's within,
you know, the the the ways that the
prophet did make the
prayer, then it's okay.
Floor is open for any general questions now
anybody has,
concerning
Islam itself? Yeah. How are you doing with
you? And maybe you're at work or or
something, and you can't take your shoes off
to wash your feet.
Is there do you have to take your
shoes and socks off, or is there a
way to is there, like, an exception to
that?
You're making with who? Yeah. And and and
you can't wash her? Yeah. Maybe, like, you're
at your office or something and just kinda
take off your shoes and your socks and
whatever.
Well, the thing is is that, you know,
there's difference of opinions in terms of the
wiping of the feet. You could always go
into the washroom and then make with Uber.
Right?
And then in terms of the your shoes,
there is difference of opinion.
You know, some say that you you need
to wear, like, a leather boot,
and others allow, you know, a thick sock
to wipe over the sock.
So that that that is permissible,
some of the
scholars. K? Any other general questions that anybody
has? Yep. If you
miss Fudger,
but then you're when you realize you missed
it, it's like the sun is rising Mhmm.
Should you wait until after the sun is
risen?
Or you make make This is a good
question. You know, should you if you miss
fajr and the sun is rising,
should you make the fajr right away? So
the prophet, there was two times when he
didn't,
of of the times
where he didn't make salat, and one is
right at noon.
Right? And then sunrise,
because this is, like, considered like the horns
of the shayton.
So, like, right at the sunrise, at that
point, you wait a little bit until the
sun has risen,
and it's called duha.
So it's right after
sunrise after it,
then then make it up.
And then, sorry, just a follow-up question.
Between Ussar and Maghreb, is there a time
that you can't because the sun is setting?
Technically speaking, you you you can pray right
until be you know, till sunset. Okay. Okay.
Yeah. But it's obviously better not to go,
you know, immediately
seconds before sunset.
But, technically speaking, you can't because it's that
sunset that that it that it goes out.
Yeah. Is there a name for the people
that you said would serve time in *
before?
I think There are some reports that say
Jahannamayun.
Jahannam is the name of *.
Jahannam Yoon. So this is a
group of people who were believers, but they
committed so many wrongs
that they could not be allowed into paradise
immediately.
So they had to go down into hellfire
and suffer for a period of time.
And then
once once
they're cleaned out, purged from the wrongs that
they did,
then because they are, you know, Muslim and
they do have the kalimah,
they would eventually,
get in. But that should be no excuse
for somebody to say, okay. Well, I can
drink and I can party, you know, because
eventually I'm going to paradise. Just put a
match on your hand for for 1 minute.
Put a fire on your head so this
is real.
It's no excuse for somebody. If you're gonna
burn in * for 20 years,
that's no excuse.
That's a fool's paradise,
to to to try to do that. A
fool's *? A fool's *.
Would that would the Jahannam
use include people who believe
It could possibly be. I mean, somebody who
believes in Allah,
it is up to Allah to deal with
them.
And there there are some people,
they could be in that category,
but there are others, like we were saying,
there there are certain people in the deep
Amazon region,
you know, who who have not,
been in contact with any other major
religions, but, you know, that person say that
person believes in the great spirit
and a good person.
Okay. So according to the scholars, that person
is under the mercy of Allah. Allah could
punish that person or forgive them
because they didn't know about the prophet.
They didn't know.
Nobody really taught them that.
And and there are some people even within
our societies here,
you know, who who never really understood
who the prophet was.
But they were like really good people and
they believed in one god.
So it's up to Allah
to decide.
We don't take that position like some extreme
Christian preachers. They said, like, if you unless
you accept the blood of Christ, you're going
to *.
No. We don't take that position.
We're just bringing the last message.
But there are other messengers who came before
and some of their people might live in
certain places.
Right? You might run into somebody like that.
Like I say, I,
you know, was in, you know, the Amazon
part of Guyana,
and,
I met some of the Arawak,
and I asked the chief,
do you believe in 1 god? Did you
have this thing? He said, yes.
And he said
he said, Adabele.
Adebeli was their name for the great spirit.
So they had a belief amongst the indigenous
people. That's one of the groups of indigenous
people of South America.
They had a belief in one god,
and you'll see that all over the world.
Any other general questions anybody has? I think
we're coming close to the salat.
Now,
the next two classes,
I will be away.
I'm going on a Dawah mission, Insha'Allah,
to Trinidad.
Right?
Although it feels like Trinidad here.
Too bad it wasn't in December or something.
Right? But I'll be away into Trinidad. So
next week, I I won't be here.
The class the corner can still come together,
and we'll we'll we'll be in touch with
you to let you know.
If,
I can get somebody to come to give
a lesson,
then,
we'll have the lesson,
and and we'll be in touch with you,
you know, in through through you know, online.
If not, then
the class can still meet, whether brothers, sisters,
they can still be a corner
or sisters. Whatever we decide, we can make
a decision about that. You know? And, it's
it's really the next 2 weeks. I'm coming
back on on Thursday, and, you know, I
don't I don't know.
So it it would be best to have
2 weeks,
away.
And then after that, inshallah,
we'll we'll continue back.
You know, with this class,
we may possibly get somebody. If we do,
it's gonna be online.
Or at least you'll be informed online.
Okay?
So everybody has contact, right? Online.
Everybody has the contact.
Okay.
Everybody has the contact. Right?
Yeah. So so the people on the livestream,
my class won't be for the next Next
two classes will be no class.
There may possibly appear, you know, a class,
but basically speaking for the next 2 weeks,
it's off.
Okay? So we'll close with that. Have a
safe journey home.
