All praise is due to Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala.
We praise
him, we seek his help and we ask
for his forgiveness.
We should all praise and thank Allah ta'ala
for once again allowing us all to be
gathered here today
to perform the I
ask Allah
to bless each and every one of us,
and I ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to
gather us like we are gathered here.
A few days ago
or a couple of weeks ago,
I saw a video of a boy in
Gaza
where there was a bomb that happened to
where he lived.
And
his legs were opened up because of it.
And he was taken to hospital,
and the doctors in hospital are stitching his
legs
without anesthetics.
And the boy was comforting himself
by reciting Quran.
And when I say a boy, I mean
he's probably 7 or 8 years old,
reciting Quran. And the more pain he felt,
the more Quran or the or the louder
he would recite.
A few days ago I saw a teenager
in Gaza
being rushed to a hospital.
He was taken out
from the ambulance.
He was put in a stretcher
and he was going inside the hospital with
the oxygen mask on his face. He had
his finger up like this and he was
saying,
And slowly his voice started to go lower
and lower, and he passed away with the
shahada.
I saw
a video
where a masjid
was bombed,
rubble everywhere.
And in the morning during Fajr,
the men of that locality,
they went to that masjid,
removed
the rubble.
They made their and
they prayed salatul
fajr
in that destroyed masjid
because that is a masjid.
They prayed there together in jama'at
salatul fajr.
I saw a man
who was on top of his house.
His house was rubble
and he was digging, he was looking for
something.
And when he was asked what are you
looking for? He said my 4 children.
I'm looking for my 4 children
and I'm also looking for their mother.
And then he said,
Sufficient for me is Allah and he is
the best disposal of our affairs.
That is courage.
That is steadfastness.
That is strength.
That is something that maybe some of us
are lacking,
and that is what we are learning today
from our brothers and sisters in Palestine.
Today, look at us.
Today I am a Palestinian.
Today you are all Palestinians.
Today we are all Palestinians
and we're always going to be. It is
because we are 1 ummah.
Not something to be nationalistic
about but it's to
be in support of our brothers and our
sisters of the region of Palestine
for the atrocities that they are that they
are going through.
For the crime that has been committed against
them. The genocide that is being done against
them.
The number of people that have died
in the tens of 1,000 now. Subhanallah.
And it's something that concerns us. And that
is why we are speaking about them. We
are speaking about what can we can we
do?
And we've spoken about that for many weeks,
but today,
I wanna speak about what can we learn
from them
because we can learn so much. Their courage,
their steadfastness that we as we said,
and their faith, the strength of their faith
is something that we probably can't even match.
SubhanAllah.
And we may ask why is this happening?
We may ask that question
that they are being killed. They're being annihilated.
They want them to be pushed away. Why
is this all happening? But we forget the
fact
that the way of Allah is something that
we won't be able to understand.
There is a lot of wisdom in the
way Allah Ta'ala deals
with humanity.
A lot of wisdom.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala tells us Jannah is
not cheap
and Allah ta'ala
will give,
will elevate the status of a person in
Jannah who goes through hardship in this life,
who goes through trials and tribulations
of this life.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala or the prophet salallahu
alaihi wa sallam tells us in a hadith.
We have studied that in one of the
weeks.
That whoever Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala wants goodness
for someone, he gives him a test. He
gives him a trial.
And you may ask, but why is this
happening? To give you a little analysis, just
some example
that we go through.
Last week and this week
you boys and girls went through your yearly
examinations.
And this is to test you for everything
that you have studied throughout the year or
at least semester 2.
To put it on paper, to be tested,
to see if you've learned something,
to see if you are
raising your ranks or your elevation in your
knowledge.
It is to test you,
and the higher you go, the higher grades
you go, the tougher test is going to
be.
When you make it to the HSE level
you're going to go through the HSE examinations
and your university placement is dependent on upon
your HSE exams.
When you go into university,
you want to become a doctor, an engineer,
nurse, whatever it would be, you're going to
go through examinations,
trials.
A doctor doesn't just become a doctor and
starts to operate on people without being tested
consistently.
And once
they know that, yes, he is capable of
operating on someone, then he is given that
task, and that's where he gets the money.
A pilot
never gets the opportunity to fly a commercial
plane, to fly people,
unless and until he goes through rigorous training
Rigorous training, passing all those training, all those
tests to be at that level to fly
a commercial plane and get those big bucks.
That's where in this world we seek success.
But that is through trials, that is through
tests, that is through examinations.
Very similar to that. Allah
elevates your rank towards
by giving you, by giving us trials and
tribulations,
by giving us examinations of this life,
to test you, to see which one of
you is going to be more noble in
the eyes of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala tells us in many
places in the Quran, for example,
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala created death and life
so that he may test you. You'll be
tested
to know which one of you is going
to be good in their deeds. Which one
of you is going to pass? Which one
of you is going to be elevated in
their ranks? This is why Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala, he tests us. And Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala tests us in many different ways.
Allah gives us 5 examples
of how he may test us.
Out of something out of fee. He will
put fee in your heart.
Hunger.
Bankruptcy. Your house is gone.
Death of a family member or death of
yourself even.
And all your crops and vegetation and livestock
gone.
Look at our brothers and sisters in Palestine,
some of them are being tested with all
5 elements that we just spoke about.
What a tough test. But why? Because Allah
wants for them. Allah wants them to pass
so that they can gain that level. They
are more special than us.
We're learning from them and it shows the
courage that they have. It shows that that
love they have for Allah ta'ala.
Because when we go through those tests, some
people will fail it. Some people will say
I can't take it anymore. Some people will
start to blame Allah but look at the
strength of our brothers and our sisters
in Palestine.
And never ever ever think
that those who pass away, those who die,
they have failed. Never think that. And inshallah,
I want to read through a few verses,
set of verses
in Surah Al Imran. Amazing set of verses.
And I want you to think of your
brothers and sisters in Palestine. Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala he says,
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala he says,
never take those who are killed in the
way of Allah that they are dead. Don't
ever think that they are dead.
Rather, they are alive.
Allah has given them a status that we
could only wish for. A status that is
so high, so elevated.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says, and I am
the one providing for them. In many ahadith
that is mentioned in the tafsir, you will
find and the prophet spoke about the shuhada
of Uhud,
that their
souls
are flying around in Jannah in birds, in
the body of birds. And they are flying
whatever they want and provisions are given by
Allah ta'ala and they are resting under the
arsh of Allah.
How amazing is that?
Look at that status
of those martyrs. Think about your brothers and
your sisters.
Then Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala he says
They are extremely happy.
Allahu Akbar. They are extremely happy with what
Allah Ta'ala has given them from his grace.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, he says, they are
extremely happy with what Allah has given from
his grace. They feel pleased with this good
news
about those who are left behind that will
that couldn't join them at that time.
That there shall be no fee for them
nor shall they grieve. The mufasirun they said,
when they are flying around in paradise,
they get news
that your brother, that your sister, that your
mother, that your father, that your children, that
your uncle, that your aunt, they're going to
follow you. They're going to be with you
very very soon and they get even more
excited, even more happy. And they say only
if my relatives knew what I'm getting now,
subhanAllah.
This is the reward from Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala. They
feel pleased
and they are blessed from
Allah with his grace and with the fact
that Allah would not let the reward of
the believers
be lost. Allah will never forget the sacrifices
that you have made. Allah will never forget
the hardship that you are going through. And
Allah will give you even more.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala then says,
Those who responded to the call of Allah.
Those who are placed in that situation where
they respond to defend themselves and their people,
then and the messenger of Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala
where they where they can't do anything, but
they don't give
up. Those who do that for them, Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala says they will get good
deeds and they feed Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
and for them is a great reward.
That same phrase again. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
says that these people they gather
and they say that all of these people
are going against you so you should feed
them.
What's happening in Palestine today? All those countries
are going against you, feed them. The superpowers
of the world, you should feed them.
But look at our brothers and sisters in
Palestine. Did they feed them? Do they feed
them? No. Allahu Akbar. That shows strength. That's
courage. That's something we lack. That's what we
can learn from them. That Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala.
But
what happens to them?
Only their iman increases.
At that moment, their iman increases even more.
They strengthen their belief in Allah even more.
And what do they say?
I'm not afraid of anyone.
Whatever happens to me, I'm not afraid of
anyone. Why? Because Allah is sufficient for me.
Allah is enough for me. That's it. And
he is the best,
the best one to take care of my
affairs.
There's no need to fear anybody. Put yourself
in a position
anywhere you are. Anyone
who tries to put your religion down, your
deen down, you get embarrassed to even pray
in public because it's salah time during your
soccer match. Right? Don't fear anybody. Don't think
what that person is gonna think of me.
No.
For you is Allah is sufficient.
And we learn that every time we see
those videos and I'm sure you've seen some
of them where they consistently
our brothers and sisters in Palestine, what do
they say?
That is all they have. A little boy
a video I saw a little boy.
His parents are gone. His house is destroyed.
And he says they are martyrs. And you
know what?
Sufficient is Allah for me. All I need
is Allah. And Allah will take care of
all of my affairs.
Then Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala he says,
So they returned with bounty from Allah and
grace,
with no evil having touched them and submitted
to the pleasure of Allah. Allah is the
lord of great bounty.
And finally, Allah
ends that part where he says,
Allah
says, it is none but the shayateen. It's
the shaytan who tries to frighten you, and
they tell you you should feed these shaitan.
You should feed them. And then Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala says don't feed them at all,
but fear Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. Allah ta'ala
is enough if you are true believers.
So we learn this courage, this strength,
this faith,
the resilience that they have and all we
can do is ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
to give us some of that.
Just to continue with some of the other
stories that I've seen or I've witnessed.
When the water was turned off in Palestine,
in Gaza,
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala And this is why
belief is so strong.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala poured down upon them
rain.
Allah ta'ala
poured down upon them rain. And this little
boy in a video, he had his bucket
like this and the water is pouring down.
And then he taste tasting the water and
he said how sweet does this taste? How
beautiful does the water taste? And he continued
to say,
Allah is with us.
Allah is with us. They can turn off
the water but Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala will provide
for us.
A Palestinian man, when he saw his house
completely destroyed
and he's there, and he's looking at the
rubble,
and he's thanking Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala when
he was asked,
you know, how are you? He says Alhamdulillah.
He kissed his hand and he pointed out
Alhamdulillah.
My family is safe. This house, we can
build again.
All praise is due to Allah
Even thanking Allah at that moment when everything
for him was destroyed.
As I remember watching when the when the
war was happening in Syria,
a boy listen to this, a young boy,
parents
have died.
He's an orphan and he's taking care of
his 2 siblings.
One of the brothers gave him a piece
of bread.
And then when he gave him a piece
of bread he had a smile on his
face. Now the person who gave him bread
said to him, what if I told you
I am also hungry?
He tore the bread in half and he
was giving it back to him,
And then he said, no no no. It's
okay. This is for you. He said,
thank you. Then he went to where he
was staying under this tent and then he
tore the bread even more and gave it
to his siblings and he took a small
piece of it for himself. And he thanked
Allah and he thanked the people who helped
him. Even at that moment,
he was thanking Allah and he was thanking
people who had been helping them.
This week, we have been learning about shukr,
but thankfulness.
We take so many things for granted. SubhanAllah.
So many things for granted.
We don't even think about thanking Allah for
the things that we have.
Compare yourself to your brothers and sisters in
Palestine.
Compare yourself to what you have and to
what they have. How much Allah
has given you. And if you thank Allah,
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, he says
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, he says that if
you thank Allah,
that Allah ta'ala will only increase you in
provisions, in goodness.
But if you don't thank Allah, if you
are ungrateful to Allah,
then of course Allah's punishment is very severe.
So we should be
understanding
the bounty Allah ta'ala
has given us. If you look at the
way we live,
the way we live, our education,
our medical care,
the food that we eat, the clothes that
we wear,
we are literally in the top 5 to
10 percentage of the world to live in
a good manner. Think about this for a
moment.
Us, you, all of us living in Australia,
in this comfort zone that we have, we
are in the top 5 to 10 percentage
of the world
in terms of the way we are living.
SubhanAllah.
How fortunate are we?
And yet we don't even
think about thanking Allah ta'ala for this bounty
that he has given us. So let's learn
from our brothers and our sisters in Palestine.
When they receive rain for water, they thank
Allah, but yet we waste water and we
don't even thank Allah. We don't even say
alhamdulillah when we drink water.
When they receive bread
after 2 days of not eating, they say
alhamdulillah
and the amount of food that we eat
and we waste, we don't even thank Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala for that.
When they receive blankets because it's getting colder
and colder there, and they thank Allah because
they know what that means, they can sleep
at least okay outside, but at least they
can cover themselves.
And they thank Allah. And they say,
for those who have given them this blanket,
yet we have beautiful comfortable beds at home.
We sleep so late sometimes, miss Fajr in
the morning, and we don't thank Allah. We
don't wake up in the morning and we
say,
We don't even say that. We don't thank
Allah that he gave us his comfort sleep
and that we have woken in the morning.
We don't even thank Allah when you look
at those brothers who receive hand me down
clothes that they wear.
Not brand new. Hand me down clothes that
they wear and they are so grateful for
it.
Yet, we buy things left, right and center
and we don't thank Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
or even our parents for that matter for
buying things for us.
When they receive
books to write on, the smiles on their
faces, I can learn something. Maybe someone can
teach me.
And subhanallah, the schools that we have, the
education that we receive, yet we don't care.
We don't pay attention in class, we muck
around. We don't thank Allah ta'ala for the
education that he's provided us with. Allahu Akbar.
And there's so many more things that we
can discuss,
but think about this.
Learn
from our brothers and sisters in Palestine.
Learn about their courage. Learn about their resilience,
learn about their shukr, their thankfulness,
their gratitude. And inshallah, if we even have
a speck of that, then we're on the
right track.
We ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
to make us learn
the the the bounties, learn the benefits,
learn from our brothers and our sisters in
Palestine. Ameen. We ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
to help our brothers and sisters and support
them in Palestine. We ask Allah
to ease the burden of our brothers and
sisters who are suffering in Palestine. We ask
Allah
to give all of those martyrs the highest
levels of paradise. We ask Allah ta'ala
to grant them victory. We ask Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala to grant them all ease and
we ask Allah ta'ala to unite us all
and grant us all
Please stand up and make yourself.
