procrastination.
This is a topic that we're going to speak about today. We actually were supposed to speak about it. We should have spoken about it before this, but because we wanted to put it into practice first we procrastinate into this time. So right now we're gonna stop procrastinating about it, and we're gonna speak about the topic inshallah. Now, procrastination, what is procrastination mean? Well linguistically, in the English language, procrastination, the word pro means to forward something or or put forth. Class tennis means tomorrow. In other words, you put forward something, you put it up, you put it till tomorrow, putting things into tomorrow, procrastination
is a problem
that we have amongst Muslims and non Muslims alike, especially in our time. There has never been a time in the history of mankind, that it has been that it has been said that it is such a big problem.
Why is it a greater problem now than before?
The times that we are living now
a times of procrastination, because it's so easy to procrastinate.
Even statistically, there was a professor who did a study on procrastination. He is actually Canadian. And his name is Pierce Steele. And he did some studies. He was supposed to do it in five years, but he procrastinated, and it took him 10 years to do so.
But every time we procrastinate, it's not a big deal, because it's considered field study. Like he's applying it. And so it took him 10 years to do a study on procrastination. And he said,
in 1978,
when they asked the public as the American public
if they were procrastinators, or not 5% of the people said they were procrastinators. 5% of the people in 1978. Nowadays,
they asked the public again in our time,
what do you think the percentage of those who said they were procrastinators are? It came up to 26%. These are of course, people who admit that they are procrastinating those who of course, don't admit it. That's another that's another thing. Why is it so difficult? And why is this so widespread in our time? First of all, there are so many distractions in our time right now. You have TVs in every room.
So it's easy to be distracted from the things that you are supposed to do. And you have people playing video games online.
You have people surfing the internet. Yeah, cell phones. Yeah, video games. Again, as I mentioned, iPods blackberries. People are playing with all kinds of gadgets. And when you're sitting down in front of the computer, when you want to do something, sometimes this noise, the ringer comes up and tells you just received a new email, you've got mail, and all of a sudden, whatever you are doing is put aside and you check your email
and it's probably spam anyways.
When you click another one, you keep on going. And then 45 minutes later, you go back to what you were doing. So that's why it's so difficult to, to, to, you know, to be undistracted because we have so many things around us that can make us procrastinate. So that's why in our time, it's even more important to control this. And it's more important for us to learn and speak about this particular topic, because it's affecting everybody. And for Muslims, especially, this particular topic is very important. And men. You know, according to the study, men procrastinate more than women. Why? Maybe because women are a little bit more organized than men.
And the young, the people who are younger, they generally procrastinate more than the old. And so that's why in Islam,
those who are young, and they, those who are young, and they grow up in the obedience of Allah, as in the Hadith of the Prophet sallallaahu Davison when he mentioned about the seven, one of the seven people whom Allah subhanho wa Taala shades on the day of judgment on the day in which there was no shade except the shade of Allah. One of it. One of the group, one of the people, is a youth who grows up in the obedience of Allah. In other words, he grows up not procrastinating.
So there's a great reward for those who do not procrastinate. Now, what causes a person to procrastinate or who are the procrastinators? Or what type of people are they? Or, you know, there are different types of procrastination, or different types of procrastinators. The first type of procrastinator
are those who want to follow their desires they follow they're less than desires. In other words, they do things to fulfill their desires. They just want the quick enjoyment and don't think about the long term effects of their actions. And so they make their desires, the guiding point or the Lord, as Allah subhanho wa Taala says
Illa
Allah,
Allah,
Allah subhanho wa Taala says, Do you see not the one who takes for himself as his God, His own vain desires? Allah has known him as such, let him astray. So Allah subhanho wa Taala speaks about those who take their desires as their Lord. In other words, they just follow their desires, whatever their desire tells them to do, they do it. Instead of doing what a lot tells them to do. They just do it. They do whatever their desire tells them to do and nothing so they make their desire their Lord, they obey their desires, like they should obey Allah subhana wa Tada. And so they have made their desires the Lord. And thus, this is the first type of procrastinators, those who want the quick
enjoyment, they want this this life, and they leave here after so the main reason for procrastination, for main reason for procrastination is a tendency to value today or the worldly life much more than tomorrow or the hereafter. So you value this life or you value Today, more than tomorrow. You don't.
You don't think about the long term effects of your actions.
And the second type of procrastinators are avoiders, those who are avoiding or they're they're avoiding doing something sometimes because of fear of failure. In other words, they don't want to do a such an action. They don't want to go forward with it. Because they are afraid of failing and so they end up procrastinating. So they procrastinate because they're afraid of failing. And these people are the ones who are insincere. Why? Because they would rather have others think that they lacked effort and ability.
In other words, they say I could have done it if I tried. But you know, I'm not weak. I'm not a failure.
I just didn't do it trying. I just didn't go forward and do it. So they're afraid that if they fail, people might say something about them. And so the cure for this, of course, the good the cure for this is to be sincere, doing everything for the sake of Allah subhana wa panna and not worrying about what people say about you, or say about what you're doing.
And so as long as you're sincere, and you're doing it correctly and for the sake of Allah, then you should never be afraid of failure. And then the third type of procrastinators are those decisional procrastinators what are the say you know, procrastinators, those who can't make up their mind
they can't make up their mind. They can't make up they
Can't make decisions. And so they, sometimes they're afraid of the outcome, you know, of the events that happen. And so they don't want to be blamed for making the decision. And so they end up not making the decision to start with. And so what's the cure for this in Islam? It's LSD harder. Whenever you want to do something, then go forward with it, after consulting with people, and then praying istikhara. And so this will cure those decisional procrastinators, and it will make you firm and make your decisions quickly, you know, quickly with putting your trust in Allah subhana wa Tada. And as I mentioned, it's never been harder to be self discipline in all of history than it is now.
Why? Because we have so many
distractions. You know, we have many things that are supposed to save time. You know, we have many things that are supposed to save time, we have time saving gadgets everywhere.
Right before we never had any of these time saving gadgets. We never had microwaves. We never had refrigerators long time, but we never had refrigerators. We never had many gadgets, or many things that are supposed to save us time.
But now we have all the time saving gadgets. But the only thing we don't have is time.
We have all kinds of sick time saving gadgets, but we don't have time. Now why is it important? Why is procrastination procrastination?
Why is it? Why should it be a concern to us? much should we speak about it? Why? Because the effects of it
are far and wide. First of all, procrastinators people procrastinate are unhealthy.
There are health reasons. If you procrastinate, you end up putting more pressure on yourself putting more stress. And people who are procrastinators generally are more
or the less healthy. And they are also more
you know, they're they're more prone to being becoming sick. So they get colds, more flus more, they have more stomach problems. Why? Because of all this stress. So procrastination has an effect on your health. Also, that's why it's a concern. And this procrastination also causes problems in the family and in the community. How does it cause problems in the family community, because if you don't do your work, you don't do your job that you're supposed to be doing and you procrastinate, and that you end up having other people do it for you. And thus, they are resentful of your actions. And so you can't more enemies, because you're not taking care of your responsibilities. And so
procrastination destroys teamwork. Procrastination, destroys
brotherhood and sisterhood. Why? Because it causes you the responsibilities to fall on other people because you are not taking care of your responsibilities. Procrastination is also a weapon, a weapon that the shavon uses all the time. They say Don uses this weapon against us all the time.
One great example from this from the Hadith of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is a hadith from Avi hora de Allahu anhu. He said that the messenger he said that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, Yeah, put the shade on Allah coffee at Raja Hydra comida who an M.
shape on the shape and ties, three knots, ties three knots behind your back on your net to be in the back of your head. When you go to sleep.
He tries.
He tries three knots when you go to sleep.
And what does he say? He says I like a wheel for code.
He says every night he says you have a long. You have a long night. He says to you he whisper Yeah, it's a long night. So go to sleep. In other words, don't get up to pray.
Don't get up You still have time. So when you want to wake up for the hygiene, when you want to wake up for budget.
I want you to listen to yourself. Because when you're listening to yourself, when you're about to wake up, you will hear the shaitan speaking to you whispering in your hearts. So listen to it.
And say I
ask Allah for protection from that. And then the Prophet seldom said for any state but after that call Allah in Hamlet. So when you get up and you remember Allah, you seek refuge from the shaitan. You remember Allah, one of the knots, one of the knots are untied is untied. And when you get up and you make wool, then the other the second knot is untied for insula and halat Rupa and then when he stands up to pray, we're talking about tahajjud here, then
the third knot is untied. And if you do this, listen, this is the cure you know that one of the cures for procrastination, and laziness is to hide your prayer. Why? Because the Prophet Solomon said, for us behind the sheep on eBenefits with us for hobbies enough see Caslen.
He said if you wake up and pray,
then you will wake up
feeling good, and feeling energetic. Fast.
Enough, you feel good and you feel energetic. So if you're feeling lethargic in the morning, you're probably not getting up at nighttime, and you're feeling tired and lazy in the morning, you're probably not getting up for tahajjud Well, the hobbies enough see Caslen. If he doesn't wake up any day, you don't do these things, then you will wake up feeling lethargic and lazy. You feel bad and you're lazy. And so that's why
the tahajjud is one of the great things. One of the great benefits of it is that it gives you energy you might think by sleeping less, you will get less energy No, because Allah will give you energy.
If you wake up early, and if you do not, then the shaitan will urinate in your ear.
litter the Prophet Solomon said the shaitan urinates in your ear, and if he urinates in your ear, you wake up feeling miserable, you feel miserable, and you're going to be lazy. So you don't want to shake on to like to urinate in your ear. So those who do not wake up to pray before fudger I'm not talking about budget here.
We're talking about before budget, the shaytaan
urinates in your ears.
So if you don't wake up for 5g, maybe he suffocates in your ear.
And so
you have to take one of the cures for procrastination is you have to take this Deen seriously. Allah Subhana Allah says, in a
woman who has indeed this is a criterion.
And it is not something it is not something you take as a joke. This gene, so take it Yeah, who didn't? kitabi
Oh, yeah, take the book with strength.
Take this Deen seriously, because your life in this your happiness in this life in the Hereafter is at stake. And
also, if you do not
commit to this Deen, if you do not fulfill your obligations, and you keep on delaying, because people there are a lot of people, what do they say? The shavon comes to them and say, You know what, it's okay. Just enjoy yourself, have fun. Why? Just have fun. Because inshallah, when you grow after you after 15, right? After you're 15 It's always like after 15 or after, after you graduate. Then after you graduate, the shaytaan says no, after you get your job, you're not to take to get married, or after you can make hides, or after you become 40 after you finish your payments, after you make HUDs after after an after NAFTA and then before you know it, the before you know it, death has come
to you.
And so that's why I'm so new Malik rhodiola. Also you have to be careful because if you're able to do something today, tomorrow you might not be able to do it.
You know, it's very the times that we are living especially, are very difficult times and the prophets Allah Allah has mentioned in a hadith that's a warning for us don't think it's gonna get easier. Don't think it's going to be easier to follow, to hold on to the Quran and the Sunnah to hold on to Islam. Don't think it's going to be easier because the Messenger of Allah sallallahu Sallam said,
Allah comes a man Illa lady bad who shall remain who
said they will not come a time. There is not a time that will come
upon you, except that which is after is worse than that which is before until you meet your Lord. And in other words last year will be better than this year, and this year will be better than next year. In other words in your deen in the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he said,
a person, a libido Allah Dini, a person who holds on to his Deen in the end of time, is like a person who holds on to burning coal.
Like a person who's who, who's holding on to burning coal, and so don't think it's gonna be easier. So, whenever you can, whatever you can do now, you should try to do it as much as possible, as soon as possible without procrastinating. And Malik of new dinar, Rahim Allah, He used to say to himself, he said, Why hack by D. By hack by the Republic.
He said, vote you vote to you. Hurry, hurry, do not delay Do not delay before the time before before death comes Do not delay. before death comes in. He used to say this, you know the person who was mentioning this story who was mentioning about Malcolm enough. He said he said this to himself more than 60 times. So he's by himself. He's reminding himself, you know, you have to. And he says I was hearing this from Malik Medina and he didn't know I was listening to him. And he was saying to himself over 60 times, hurry, hurry, do not delay because death can come at any time. And so that's why the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is said to hide it from him.
From the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he said, it'll turn him hums and publicans. Take advantage of five things before five. Take advantage of five before five Shabaab Shabaab aka kubla harmik. While you're still young, take advantage of it before you become old. Because when you're old, you might not be able to,
you might not be able to do to do too fast to get up to pray, because you won't have the energy. So take advantage of it before you become old was a hectic accomplice a comic. And since and while you're still healthy,
take advantage of your health before you become sick. Because when you're sick, you might want to do a lot of things but you won't be able to.
Because you won't have the energy so take advantage of it well.
And take advantage of the wealth that you have before you become poor. In other words, spend it for the sake of Allah subhanho wa Taala. And if you want that wealth, you want it with you, then you spend it in the sake of all of you what you want, if you want it to benefit you in the hereafter and will forever accomplish. And while you still have time, when you're not busy, take advantage of it and do good as much good as you can before you become busy because you might become busy and you will not be able to do the things that you want to do. Well hi Attica coupler mounting, and take advantage your life before death comes. And let's take advantage of five these five things before
the five things come.
And
also, do not
you know, do not complain about things. But trying to do is try to do the best that you can.
The plan, whatever you want to do, just go forward with it and ask a lot for help. Either. The first alila when you ask ask Allah, what is the answer first in Billa? Do you want to do something don't procrastinate. Just do it and seek the help of Allah Subhana Allah while you're doing weststein Billa who will attaches and seek the help of Allah subhanho wa Taala and don't become incapable. And the people who
as I mentioned when some of the reasons why people procrastinate, I said
they procrastinate because they want to find they want the quick, the quick reward the quick,
you know the quick feeling of happiness, but not thinking about the end result. And of course, one of the greatest things that you can put yourself in,
in danger is if you procrastinate and do not repent to Allah subhanho wa Taala you do not repent to Allah subhanho wa Taala then, you know repentance for us. It should be done every single day,
every single day repenting to Allah asking Him for His forgiveness. Because the prophets Allah, Allah Himself himself, he repents to Allah more than 70 times a day in a day.
He said by Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah to be like a failure
in America, I repent to Allah, and I returned back to him. In other words, I repent. Far is asking for forgiveness verbally.
That Toba is active
In changing your character and your actions accordingly. In other words, changing it for the better. So that's the difference between instead font and Toba. And you make Toba is too far over 70 times in another narration and Sahih Muslim, over 100 over 100 times. And so be careful because death can come at any time. And don't feel that you're safe from the punishment of Allah subhanho wa Taala as Allah subhanho wa Taala says,
To whom? sooner,
Moon
sooner?
La Vela Emmanuel Macron in Omaha, Cebu,
Cora did the people in the village of the town? Do they feel safe? At home but sooner that the punishment of a loss of power come safe from the punishment of Allah?
Do they feel safe that it might it might not be won't won't come? When they're spent at nighttime when they're sleeping? Do they feel safe? from the punishment of Allah in the morning? When why they're playing a new macro law, do they feel safe? from Allah subhanho wa Taala from the punishment of Allah subhanho wa Taala. From the plight of Allah subhanho wa Taala. For Emmanuel Macron law in Iran, those who feel safe from the punishment or from the plot of Allah Subhana Allah are those who are losers. Those are the losers. So don't be don't think that you're going to be you know, safe from the punishment of Allah always think about, you know, the the blessings that you have, because
Allah can take it away anytime. And
some people,
you know, they procrastinate, because they say that Allah is merciful. We say Allah is our gracious, most merciful, Most Merciful. And if you go to them, and you ask him to say, Brother, brother, why are you doing this? Why are you selling alcohol and this in your in your shop? Why are you selling this in that? Why are you selling cigarettes? Why are you doing this? And then they will say, why don't you come to the machine? We'll say, brother here, the demand is here. It's in the heart.
The man is here and they point to the heart.
Well, if the man was there, then they would follow a loss of Hamlet as rule. So these are the people who procrastinate also. And procrastinators are deceiving themselves. They're liars. procrastinators are liars. And procrastinators are cowards.
So, what are some of the reasons you you know, that also that people procrastinate? They might say, Oh, you know what, when I'm under pressure, you know, I always finish my things. I do better under pressure.
You know, I work I finished things under pressure. No, no, you're lying to yourself, quit lying to yourself. You're just putting more pressure on yourself and making yourself more prone to sickness, and you weaken your immune system and all kinds of things. And so don't procrastinate. Or that sometimes you have some things to do, and you procrastinate because you say, well, you may not have to do it at all, you know, somebody else might say, somebody else might take it, somebody else will take over the job. If I you know, my might not even have to do it. So you procrastinate hoping somebody else will take it. But you know, if somebody else does take it, they're not gonna be happy.
So do it yourself and take it take the initiative and do it as much as possible. One way also to stay away from procrastination, or to help yourself with procrastination is to make dua to Allah subhanho wa Taala all the time
to make sure not to make you lazy one of the ways that you can make as mentioned insight and send it to them at the prophets of Allah has taught us says Allah in the hours of he came in and had a meal hammy well, Allah I seek refuge in You from worries and sadness, while castle will Dubin and also I seek refuge in You from laziness, and cowardliness will vocally will lead our Deen of Allah azza wa jal and also coward cowardliness and miserliness and the throes of debt and the overcoming or the overcoming of men, in other words, the men, people harming you know, people harming you. And so, procrastination
and other ways to realize the value of time.
Realize that we are living in this life, the things that we have everything that we have the capital, the time
that we have is a capital.
You're in a business transaction. And our capital is the time that we have. And a lot of us do not realize, know the true value of this time. And that's why the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he said and heard even sohaib karate, now my time my Boonen, FEMA, Kathy, Romain and us as well, for our there are two blessings that many people are being cheated for. In other words, they don't know the true value of it, they're being they're cheating themselves.
And that those two blessings are our health and free time, health and free time. So the time that you have is very precious. And when you say somebody, boon, what does that mean? Mother boon is a person who has been tricked, or does not know the value of something. And he has sold something for a very low price. Very, very low price. Like for example, if a child inherits from his father, let's say a childhood from his father, a Cadillac.
And then he has this Cadillac brand new Cadillac, but you know, his parents have passed away. And so a band comes to this child and says, Son, you know what? I have, I have a bag of ice cream over here, I have a bag of candy bars.
I'll give you all the candy bars in this bag, if you give me the Cadillac.
Now the boy, he doesn't really know the value of this Cadillac, he says, candy bar and those tastes good. Give it to me, you can have my Cadillac. Right? That's my boon. For us every single day we're being where we are.
Where we cheat, we're being cheated, we cheat ourselves. Because the time that we have, instead of, you know, praying to luck, as for example, if I did before, if I did, is worth more than the dunya and whatever is in it. So you leave that and we're praying the Sooners arena, or and there's so many things that we can benefit from our time and see the benefits of and reap the benefits of in the hereafter. But instead of doing that we end up playing video games, watching TV, and doing the things that not only do not benefit us, but they also harm us.
And so it's like burning, burning money. But not only are you burning the money that you have is valuable. With that flame you burn yourself awful.
So that money you're burning, you're wasting it and then you burn your clothing with it also, so you're hurting yourself. So instead of making use of that money or use of that time, we burn ourselves with that time. So we're really Mike Boone, and that's why
he said in Nila Nila Rajan urahara van Laffy Amrit dunya
irati. He said, I see somebody you know, I hate people to hate to see a person who doesn't do anything. You know, he, neither is he doing something to benefit his worldly life, nor is he doing anything to benefit as a hereafter. And that's why
when a person has time, you should take advantage of it as much as you can. And the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, of course, has given us you know, many advices, to take it, you know, to take advantage of the time that we have, there are so many things that we can do, to do good. You know, there are a lot of things that we can, you know, different types of a by that, that we can go forward and benefit ourselves with, but we end up in the end, not benefiting ourselves but even harming ourselves. And so you should be in you should try to benefit even in the last moments of your life. Try to do all that benefits that helps you in the hereafter. And that's why emammal
hanifa Rahim Allah when he was about to pass away when he was in the throes of death, he said to his students who are around him he said hello mama Allah give me giving it let's let's let's discuss about issue about issue tabula rasa masala, let's study about let's study issue and he's about to die. And so they said, He's very sick. He says, and so they also will be missing he had he had. He said even at this time, Oh, man. He said he said Allah who yunju be hunted. He said maybe one person will be saved from the Hellfire because of this issue that we are studying.
So they try to take advantage of all the time that they have. And that's why Abdullah, the son of the son of Mr. Mohammed, Ibn Hanbal. He said, he said to his father because he saw his fathering working. He saw his father working so hard, he never takes a break. He works so hard, studying, teaching people he has no time hardly. He says father take a break. take a vacation, relax.
So he said to him, what did what did he say to his, his son? He said, I will take my vacation I'll relax when I've taken my first step into paradise and shot,
and that's what he'll do. And so you should try to take advantage of the time that you have. And Allah subhanho wa Taala warns us in many is of the consequence, many eyes of the consequences of those who
procrastinate, Allah subhana wa says, and sort of Zuma

lot to me upon those things that I neglected. So don't be in a state on the Day of Judgment. Don't find yourself Don't let you don't find yourself in a state that you're regretful and you say if only if only I had not neglected
in my obligations to Allah subhanho wa Taala. And so on that day, you will regret every single moment, every single prayer you didn't pray in the masjid, you will regret every single time you didn't. didn't remember Allah, you will regret every single time you didn't follow those people who went to do good. You will regret every single time that people who stood up to pray at nighttime and you didn't pray, you will regret every single moment of your life. And don't just so don't find yourself in in that situation under the judgment. And you know, Allah subhanho wa Taala says, had
until death comes to one of you. And then he says, follow up your job and return me. Me bring me back to life return me back to this life. Now what do you think they want to do when they want to return back to this life? You think that they will want to make more money? Do they want what they want to do? What do you think they will want to do?
What are they What did Allah subhanaw taala say?
Allah subhana wa says
ni
fi Matt, what do they want to do? Do they want to meet their children?
Do they want to meet their parents? Because they missed them so much? No, I Li in order that I might do good deeds? I'm sorry. How do you write righteous deeds? FEMA?
In the time that I left another one so I can go make up. So I can make up and then Allah Subhana Allah says
in Karima
PA,
when you ra m Li o
ne it is better word that they say.
And there's a barrier between them is the bursa until the day of judgment. In other words, they're not in this world anymore. It's over. The time is over. So look, listen to what these people want. What did the people in the grave want right now? They want to come back even to c'est la ilaha illa Allah Subhana Allah Al Hamdulillah, just one time.
If they were able to come back, just to say that in this life, they would cut it, this is what they want. They want to do good deeds. They want to spend whatever they can for the sake of Allah subhanho wa Taala. If they were to come back right now, any dead person in the grave? If they were to if if they had money, let's say in the bank under their name, and they were able to come back for just a few minutes, a few hours. You know what they would do with that money? Do you think they're gonna buy houses for their children?
You know what they're gonna do? They're probably gonna take every single penny out of the bank and put it in the machine or do something that's beneficial for them in the grave. sadaqa jariya that's what they will do. So you know, what? may Allah have mercy upon those who do right now, what the dead wants.
The dead wants to do the things that we can do now. But we, in this situation are able to do those things, but we are not doing them.
And so think about yourself. If you were to die, what would you do? If tomorrow you're going to die? What would you do? Because it can come anytime. Now Allah subhanho wa Taala says
de
como una de la jolla.

me in Allah subhanho wa Taala says in spend from that which we have given you, before death comes to one of you. And then he will say if only you can return me. If only you can delay this time to death just for a little bit, what do they want to do for us? sadaqa and they give sadaqa with all that they have come in Assad in the South Africa and be amongst those who are pious. So this is what the dead wants when they die.
But they can't do it.
After that it's already too late. And we are going to die. And that's what we will want but you know right now we're not dead yet. We can do what the dead want. And so do it. Do all that you can to please Allah subhanho wa Taala and do not procrastinate because the true life isn't a life in the hereafter. As Allah subhanho wa Taala says, can
either get in on the duck,
duck
sauce wedgie. Yo,
yo ma Ed Carroll in San Juan.
de gras yopu Yalla Danny, dumb Tony hayati, whether they say Canada either Ducati or conducta ne when the earth is crushed, and it's in pieces,
which are bukovel Monaco, soften, suffer and your Lord comes to you and the angel new Lord comes in the angels come in Lyons enrolls what he might even be Johanna.
Johanna, the Hellfire will be brought forward. Yo ma Ed yetta that Carol insam on that day people will realize what anala but where is he? What is he going to do? What how's it going to benefit him? He really realized the truth. And then what will he say? Yeah, boo? Yeah, like Tony, Tony hayati, oboes to me if I only had put forth for this life for life, but for my life. So they the real life is a life in the hereafter. This is not the real life. This is a test the true life. Yeah life.
To me, if I only put forth for my life. That's the true life is a life in the hereafter. And so that's why we should do all that we can to please Allah subhanho wa Taala and hurry before the trials and tribulations and the obligations, come forth and make you busy, and you're not going to be able to do it and hurry before death. And that's why the Prophet sallallahu Sallam said that he rubella melissani Bella malice Ali Hassan. He said hurry in doing good deeds before seven things come. Halton health entity Runa illa clemencia is are you going to wait until you come you become very poor. And then it will you will make you forget. In other words, we become so poor, you'll be
so busy trying to to just take care of yourself that you won't have time to give support and if you want to you can't either you can either. Again and
also if you're very rich, it may keep you busy. There are some people who say you know what inshallah, if Allah were to give me $1 million right now, I would be in the masjid every single day
or 2 million $4 million right now. I would
Get up be the machine every single day add worship Allah till the day I die.
You know, this is the shaitan deceiving you. Because the Prophet sallallahu Sallam said, the son of Adam, if he were to be given a mountain of gold or a value of gold, he would want another.
And it's true. There are some people you know, I live in Seattle, there's another person who lives in Seattle. His name is Bill Gates. I think some of you guys have heard of him. Yeah, he has a lot of money, right? If he were to retire right now, he could feed itself, his family, his grandchildren, great grandchild, great, great, great grandchildren. And they wouldn't have to work right? He could just relax vacation his whole lifetime, right. But you know what, he's one of the most busiest one of the busiest people in Seattle. His schedule is always full. You know why he still wants more money. He's got that much, he still wants more.
Still, if you don't lie to yourself, you're a son of Adam to
his son or daughter of Adam. And the Prophet Solomon said, the son of Adam, if you were to be given a value of gold, he would want another mountain of gold, he would want another mountain. So whatever you have, right now, your financial situation, you have to try to worship Allah subhanho wa Taala, the best that you can
model them of Sita, or when you become sick, you will not be able to worship Allah subhanho wa Taala Oh, how am I am if needed, or we become old, you're about to die already. mount a mountain
or death and death. Of course, you can't do anything after that well with the job
or the job
and the job when he comes. Don't think that you're going to have time to do this. And that because the trials and tribulations the job are very great. I was sad, or the day judgment. And every single person has a day judgment, personal day judgment is your death. And the main the main day of judgment was to add armor and the Day of Judgment is much more grievious much greater and more bitter. And so what do we do? What should we do? How should we? What are the steps that we should take to try to eliminate
procrastination I call this emancipation, procrastination.
emancipate yourself from procrastination. First of all, be organized. Make a list of everything you have to do. Every single day, try try to make a list of the things that you have to do be organized. And, you know, make it make a schedule. Also daily schedule, weekly schedule, monthly schedule, your yearly schedule for everything that you do in your studies or in your job workplace or and especially even in a bad you know, a lot of us we plan for many things, but when it comes to the worship of Allah, when it comes to Islamic culture, the Hereafter, we don't plan and also set goals. And every single bite everybody's goal should be genital serves the highest level and paradise. So
how are you going to do? What are you going to do to get that? And also, you know, break down these goals. take it one step at a time. For example, if you want to memorize the Quran, you know, break it down, don't just say memorize the Quran. Break it down, how much are you going to memorize a day and be consistent with it? For example, I'm going to memorize at least two pages a day one page or half a page, break it down? And how are you going to do this? When are you going to do it. So set your goals and break down your goals. And
of course, do things that you are happy that you like, also, look for the things that pleases you in worshiping philosophy in the worship of Allah. There are many things you can fast there you can give sadaqa you can pray, you read the Quran, there are so many things that you can do, pick, of course, do the things that are obligatory upon you the minimum requirements and you know, and a little bit extra, but choose certain deeds that you like. For example, some people love to pray they get up at nighttime to pray, it's very easy for them increase in that some people like to fast increase in them. Some people love to read the Quran, increase in that increase in the things that you like, all
of this is Lee insha Allah will lead you to gentlemen because in Paradise, there are different doors there's Dora, of Salah, Dora Jihad door and Leon the door for the people
who love to fast door sadaqa those who love to give sadaqa so Allah made it easy for us. So choose the ibadah that you like, and do all the others you know as much as you can, but increase in the things that you like more.
Increasing the things that you'd like more. And also, if you're having a hard time doing such certain things, if you're procrastinating doing something, think about the reward that you will get inshallah, if you did for the sake of Allah, just thinking about the reward. Let me see. Let's say for example, oh man, it's time for prayer and you don't pray and you procrastinate.
Think about the reward. For example, the professor will have said,
the time that a person
procrastinate, when it's time to pray already, that time that he procrastinate. And he delays is worth more than every dounia. And everything's in it. On the day of judgment, you will see it. In other words, let's say it's fine. So what comes in at 1230 or 130, and you're procrastinating until you, you don't want to pray immediately at the beginning of the time. So you procrastinate until, like, 230, for example, that hour is worth more than the dunya. And whatever is in it, you will trade the whole dunya for that time to pray a prayer to pray at that time and not procrastinate. So think about the reward that you will get, and it will push you to do things and not procrastinate.
And all the things that you know, procrastinate in all the things that you are procrastinating in, and also eliminate tasks that will not benefit you neither in this life or in the Hereafter, and prioritize prioritize things correctly. So you have different tasks, so the tasks that you have, that will benefit you do those, and eliminate anything that will not benefit. So be organized. And in and this is of course, as I mentioned, make dua to Allah Subhana Allah all the time, to keep you far away from
castle, tired, lethargic, being lethargic, being lazy, and so forth. And as I mentioned, one of the greatest things that to help and procrastination to help you because that's the opposite of procrastination is strong determination. And what do you what can you do to strengthen that determination? It is selected tahajjud So that's it. It helps you and gives you energy and and, and also, as I mentioned, try to be as organized as possible. So go back home.
When you get home, write the things write your goals, set your goals, and be organized and set the things that you're supposed to set and do the things that you are supposed to do. And inshallah procrastination. You know, write your emancipation of procrastination, emancipation from procrastination. Write it titled emancipation from procrastination and these are the things you're going to do everyday. And these are the actions that you're going to do and set your goals and Charlotte go forward with it, which is a modified mabena Mohammed while he was like yourself,
