As I stand here in,
I can't help but remember how much the
prophet, alaihis salatu alaihis salatu alaihis salatu alaihis
salatu alaihis salatu alaihis salatu alaihis salatu alaihis
salatu alaihis salam reminded us in the morning
time, as the sun is about to rise,
to remember the blessings that we have and
be grateful for them. There's a dua I
want to share with you that the prophet
sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, he used to recite
very often.
The dua is narrated by Ibn Umar radiallahu
an, and he says that the prophet sallallahu
alaihi wa sallam used to say, Allahumma
inyaoodubika
minzawal inya mate. Oh Allah,
I seek refuge with you
from my blessings going away.
I want the blessings you give me to
stay.
And of course, we know that the Prophet
sallallahu alaihi wasallam taught us that one of
the ways we can keep our blessings
is through gratitude.
But we must also turn to Allah and
ask us, You Allah,
keep the blessings that You have given me
and allow me to keep them and stay
with me.
He would also say in this du'a, Taha'wulf
Aatiya Took.
O Allah, do not allow
Your tranquility to leave me. The Athiyya that
You have given me, the tranquility
that You have given me, O Allah, please
allow me to keep that. Allow me to
have that.
And the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam would say,
Oh Allah, I seek refuge
from your anger that comes suddenly.
Oh, Allah, protect me from doing something,
saying something,
acting in a way that would gain your
sudden wrath and anger. Oh, Allah, protect me
from that. Wajimi Asakatik.
And finally, the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam,
he would say,
I seek refuge
from all of your wrath and your anger.
We are reminded in the city of the
beloved
that there is nothing more
sacred to us than having the love of
God,
having the love of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
So this du'a reminds us to ask Allah,
oh Allah protect me from anything that will
gain your wrath, anything, because sometimes we know
what will gain God's wrath. So we try
to stay away, but sometimes
we don't know.
And so what we know and what we
don't know, we're asking Allah, oh Allah,
protect me from doing any actions that will
cause
your blessings to go away,
the tranquility you have given me to be
taken away,
and from any actions that will cause your
wrath
to come down upon me.
We ask Allah
to give us afiyah. We ask Allah to
give our brothers and sisters around the world
afiyah, which means tranquility,
blessings that are with them continually.
And we ask Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, to
always protect us from anything
that will gain
his wrath.
This is the sunnah of the beloved.
May Allah
give us his love.
